Czarzasty Announces Lewica Conference:

We Will Inform Everyone What We Have Agreed Upon Together.

- At 1:30 PM, a conference, yes. Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Krzysztof Gawkowski, Tomasz Trela, and I will participate, and we will inform everyone what we have agreed upon together. What will be, we invite you at 1:30 PM - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TOK FM.

08:09

Michnik on the Choice of New Left Leader: Czarzasty to Announce His Decision Today at 1:30 PM

- As for today, the individuals who have expressed interest in this position [head of the New Left] are Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Krzysztof Gawkowski, Marcin Kulasek, and Tomasz Trela. Today, as I mentioned, Włodzimierz Czarzasty will announce his decision at a press conference at 1:30 PM - stated Łukasz Michnik on "Gość Radia Zet".

08:09

Czarzasty on His Conduct as Speaker of the Sejm:

I Believe in This Government

- I believe in this government, which is why my conduct as Speaker of the Sejm at this moment is very firm, because I know where I'm going - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TOK FM.

08:12

Czarzasty:

It's Already Known That the Alternative is a Government of PiS, Braun, and Confederation

- I know that the alternative, right now, is already known to be a government of PiS, Braun, and Confederation. For God's sake, that's simply a bad government. When I hear Sasin, or Morawiecki, saying that Braun is actually a nice guy, it terrifies me. And that's my motivation not to let that happen - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TOK FM.

08:15

Czarzasty on Braun's Party:

On the Verge of Being Banned.

- I do not want them to participate in the most important decisions concerning the Sejm, because I consider this party to be on the verge of being banned. That's simply what I think; I listen to what he says, I'm afraid for Hanukkah, which we are currently organizing - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TOK FM.

08:18

Czarzasty Sets Date for Consideration of Chain Law Veto

- This veto [to the chain law] will be voted on next Wednesday, and I support all of you who come before the Sejm with your protests, because there is no other way to simply show these people that they are doing wrong - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TOK FM.

08:18

Cieszyński:

I'm Not Happy About Braun's Rising Poll Numbers

- I am absolutely not happy [about Grzegorz Braun's rising poll numbers]. Grzegorz Braun apparently said I should be hanged, so if I were happy about that… - said Janusz Cieszyński in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:18

Michnik:

I am a supporter of left-wing consolidation, I will advocate for Razem's return to The Left club

- Yes, I am actually a supporter of left-wing consolidation. I believe that a fragmented left will not serve left-wing thought in parliamentary elections. It is reading tea leaves to predict what the electoral situation will look like in two years. I was against Razem leaving The Left club, and I will be in favour of it returning to The Left club - said Łukasz Michnik on "Gość Radia Zet".

08:20

Michnik on the Possibility of Nowa Lewica Running Together with Civic Coalition: I Don't See Such an Option

- I don't see such an option, because we see how joint lists with Civic Coalition end. We have too many programmatic differences with Civic Coalition - said Łukasz Michnik on "Guest of Radio Zet".

08:21

Czarzasty Announces Move on Nearest Person Status Bill

- This December, I think I will assign a print number to the government's draft bill on this matter [the nearest person status act] - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TOK FM.

08:26

Michnik:

There is no place for Braun in Polish politics; instead, there's a place for him in prison

- Braun is a threat to the public interest, Braun is a threat to citizens, to our national security. I believe that there is no place for Braun in Polish politics; instead, there's a place for him in prison. I believe Braun should not run in any future elections, and I believe all these views must simply be condemned, absolutely condemned, because there is no place for them in healthy public debate - said Łukasz Michnik on "Gość Radia Zet".

08:29

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the Meeting with Tusk That Didn't Happen:

This Avoidance of Talks Is Not Good.

"I proposed to the Prime Minister, I asked for a meeting, I asked for it, it will be two months ago by now, and since then there has been no meeting. This is once again the Prime Minister's decision. I am ready to talk," [...] "This avoidance of talks is not good," said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on RMF FM's "Morning Interview."

08:29

"I Prefer Braun to Tusk"? Cieszyński: I Won’t Repeat That

- No, I won’t repeat that - Janusz Cieszyński stated on Polsat News’s “Graffiti,” when asked if he would repeat, following Jacek Sasin, that he prefers Grzegorz Braun to Donald Tusk.

- I think there is no obligation to choose between whether you cut off my left leg or my right leg. Well, I want to keep both and leave the studio - he stated.

08:35

Poland 2050 Falling Apart? A Decisive Commentary from Pełczyńska-Nałęcz

- Poland 2050 is not falling apart, nothing of the sort is happening. This is also something being amplified around us, and not just recently, but from the very beginning, 5 years ago when we were founded, it was always like this: they won't last much longer, they won't make it to the elections, they won't survive the elections, they won't win the elections, they won't survive a year in coalition - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on RMF FM.

- We are here, we will be here, it's time to get used to it - she continued.

08:39

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Assesses Reports of Party Departures in Case of Election Victory:

It Sounds a Bit Like Tabloid Gossip.

- I'm asking where these sources come from, it sounds a bit like some tabloid gossip - Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz said on RMF FM, when asked about Onet's reports that around 10 people, including Joanna Mucha, Ryszard Petru, and Michał Kobosko, would leave the party in the event of her victory in the Poland 2050 elections.

- Reading this article, I get the impression that it sides with someone in our internal Poland 2050 elections, and that already makes me think deeply - she continued.

- I have a strange feeling that someone is scared, someone is afraid of me. Unnecessarily, really - she added.

08:40

Cieszyński Criticizes the Minister of Health:

A Foretelling of a Healthcare System Exclusively for the Rich.

- The minister [Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda] also spoke about introducing co-payments and additional insurance. This means it's a foretelling of a healthcare system exclusively for the rich – Janusz Cieszyński stated on Polsat News' "Graffiti."

- What's more, there are official data from the Central Statistical Office indicating that private healthcare expenditures have already increased by PLN 10 billion in 2024. For comparison, in the previous year, they only rose by around PLN 3 billion. Thus, we are already dealing with silent privatization, and it's still intended to be further pushed and intensified – he assessed.

In his opinion: - The minister was appointed to her position by Donald Tusk, but she was not given the tools to perform her job, and therefore, I understand, in an act of desperation, she is talking about these matters.

08:45

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Criticizes Braun's Party:

What [This Party] Promotes Regarding Our Security and Russia is Anti-Polish.

"Our national interest lies in the fact that the further away Russians are from our borders, if there is an independent country between us and aggressive Russia, that is good for us, and everyone in Poland who questions this obvious, unequivocal interest of ours in security is acting not in the name of Polish raison d'état, but in the name of Russian raison d'état," said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on RMF FM.

"Unfortunately, there are politicians and political forces that are increasingly trying to show that: [...] our greatest enemy is in the West and in Germany, our greatest enemy is in Brussels, and that is the Soviet Union," she continued.

"I am certainly talking about Braun's party and about some voices from Konfederacja, I would put it that way. And they are still trying to build a sense in Poland that the threat from Ukraine for us is much greater than the threat from Russia, which is simply an absolute nonsense," she went on to say.

"This will not change my assessment of the fact that what [this party] promotes regarding our security and Russia is anti-Polish," she added, after the host pointed out that Braun's party has 10% in the polls.

08:54

Compromise between the ruling coalition and the president on cryptocurrencies? Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on Poland 2050's proposal

- Poland 2050, as a parliamentary group, submitted a slightly softened [bill], this is an area for discussion for us within the coalition on how to act optimally here - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on RMF FM, when asked about the coalition submitting the exact same bill on cryptocurrencies and expecting the president to behave differently this time.

- We believe that perhaps it is worth looking for a solution that meets halfway in some areas, so that the main, essential, fundamental matter is settled. As Poland 2050, we have put such a proposal on the table as a parliamentary group and we are ready for discussion within the coalition - she continued.

- Ultimately, effectiveness is important, and a solution is important. The fact that one is one hundred percent right, for that reason alone, does not ultimately lead to any solution, which is probably not what voters wish for. However, with all my heart and understanding, I am on the side of those who say "it needs to be regulated" - she continued.

- From the President's side, there is also no great, conciliatory wisdom visible, if we are to be fair about these matters. [...] We say "we are the center" [...] a centrist party is a party that can admit: it is sometimes worth thinking a little about a compromise solution, so that there is a solution and that at the end of the day it is a step better. It might not have been one hundred percent ideal, but it was a step better - she added.

09:08

How Would the Government Be Rated After Two Years? Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Responds

- I am a proponent of descriptive assessments [...]. I would rate them, I must say, I find it difficult to give a single assessment. Good, good. A B - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on RMF FM, when asked what grade she would give the government after almost two years in office.

10:18

Nawrocki:

U.S. Troop Presence, Strong NATO, and Building NATO-EU Relations Guarantee Regional Security

- In this regard, neither I nor the [Latvian] President have any doubts that, on the one hand, the presence of American forces, a strong North Atlantic Alliance, and the building of relations and cooperation between the European Union and the United States is what guarantees security in the region - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Riga.

- Of course, this builds security, on the one hand, the conviction that we must build our responsibility for our armed forces, which Poland is doing and which Latvia is doing with equal efficiency and effectiveness, but on the other hand, we agree with Mr. President that the United States and the presence of American troops in Europe is a guarantee for our region and the world - Karol Nawrocki continued.

10:24

Nawrocki:

Trump Had to Come for Western Europe to Understand

- President Donald Trump, the President of the United States, had to come and speak to Western Europe so that they would understand. After all, the countries of Central Europe have been saying for many years that Europe is in a state of crisis, in a state of chaos, and is not dealing with matters most crucial to the security of our region - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Riga.

10:31

Nawrocki:

We Must Align Our National Security Strategy with the U.S. Vision

- I personally am also pleased and consider it a success for my office that we did not sign the National Security Strategy and are working on developing a new National Security Strategy, because we see that the National Security Strategy of our greatest security ally, the United States, is now coming to light and we can see it - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Riga.

- Therefore, we must also align our National Security Strategy with the vision of our ally, and thus the decisions made 3 months ago, also commented on in the media, which raised certain reservations among some politicians, are today taking on a concrete dimension before your eyes - Karol Nawrocki continued.

10:44

Reinstating Military Conscription? Nawrocki Presents His Stance

- Regarding military service, today we have voluntary basic service, and as I know from analyses and statistics, we do not have a significant problem with individuals wanting to join the Polish Army at present. There are many willing Polish patriots who want to undertake military training in the format of voluntary basic service. I encourage all Poles to join voluntary basic service. I know there are different models among our neighbors - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Riga.

- Of course, we should not exclude, and in this context I read the words of Professor Cenkiewicz, we should not exclude the situation that Professor Cenkiewicz spoke about. Today, as long as there are more volunteers, many willing individuals to participate in training within voluntary basic service, or to serve in the Territorial Defence Force, we are fulfilling our duties as the Polish state. So, I would certainly not exclude it. I don't know what it will look like in the coming years, but today I consider voluntary basic service and the Territorial Defence Force to be sufficient to cover this scope of duties - Karol Nawrocki continued.

10:50

Nawrocki:

I Haven't Received Official Information About Transferring MiGs to Ukraine

- There must have been some misunderstanding here, I didn't have such information. I confirmed this again today at the National Security Bureau. Such information did not reach me, but I am confident that we will clarify this matter with Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz and reach an agreement on this issue. However, my colleagues were right; I did not receive official information about such actions and the transfer of MiGs to Ukraine - stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Riga.

11:22

The President's Spokesperson on Professorial Appointments:

I am calming and explaining.

- Today, on Sygnały Dnia on Jedynka Radio, Minister Karolina Zioło-Pużuk from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education stated that the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, has not yet signed any professorial appointments. I am calming and explaining: the ceremony of the President handing out professorial appointments will take place on January 7, 2026. - wrote the President's spokesperson, Rafał Leśkiewicz, on social media.

13:00

Nawrocki:

Poland is an Ally You Can Always Count On

- I am here as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, but I am also conveying thanks and congratulations to Polish soldiers from the President of Latvia and from the Prime Minister of Latvia. You represent Poland to the world and say that Poland is an ally you can always count on. Poland is an ally ready to take responsibility for its own security, but what Polish contingents are saying is that we are ready to take responsibility for the entire eastern flank of NATO, and we are ready to fulfill our allied commitments - said Karol Nawrocki during a visit to the military base in Ādaži.

13:11

Was the President Uninformed About Plans to Transfer MiG-29s to Ukraine? Firm Comment from the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff

Paweł Graś addressed theories on X that President Karol Nawrocki was not being kept up-to-date on plans to transfer the last Polish MiG-29s to Ukraine.

"Complete nonsense, the issue of the MiGs has been in process for over a year. It has been discussed many times at the weekly Security Committee, which is attended by a representative of the National Security Bureau." - stated the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff.

13:36

New Left Leadership Election: Czarzasty Announces Decision

- I have decided [...] as part of a team, which I emphasize very strongly, to run for party leader - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference.

- At the same time, I have asked my friends to support the concept that both Minister Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski, and MP Trela should join the party's leadership - he continued.

- We have agreed that we will ask the congress for Deputy Prime Minister Gawkowski to become the first deputy leader of the party - he went on to say.

- Some will like this decision, others will dislike this directional decision, but we believe it is a time for stability - he added.

- We cannot imagine a situation where, while fighting for what is most important to us programmatically, we would be debating and arguing among 10 people about who should run for party leader, because for us the most important thing is the fate of the formation, the fate of this government which we are co-creating, and ultimately the stability that Poland will desperately need over the next two years - he emphasized.

14:10

US Ambassador Publishes Photos from Meeting with Tusk:

It was a great honor for me.

"It was a great honor for me to meet with the incredibly sharp Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk – a great Polish patriot and a widely respected leader – today. Our conversation underscored how important Poland is to the United States and how much we can achieve together," wrote Tom Rose, the US Ambassador to Poland, on X.

14:18

Sejm to Attempt Overriding Presidential Veto on Chain Act. Czarzasty Specifies Exact Date

- There is a veto that will be voted on, likely on Wednesday [...] the Sejm presidium and the convention of seniors have accepted such timelines [...] preliminarily, it is planned for 6 PM and after a discussion on the veto, probably, as it is currently noted in the plan, it will be put to a vote - Włodzimierz Czarzasty stated at a press conference, when asked when the Sejm would address the president's veto on the chain act.

14:24

Czarzasty Mocks PiS and Kaczyński:

I Understand There's Been a Change in Leadership on the Right.

- Over 20 people from PiS voted for this [chain] bill. I understand there has been a change on the right regarding leadership, and I understand that the current head of PiS is President Nawrocki, and that he ordered them, including Mr. Kaczyński, to now vote against what they previously voted for - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said at a press conference.

- Whether Mr. Kaczyński is obedient and will carry out the president's order, we will see on Wednesday. But it seems to me that there are no such situations, at least not on the left, where one day you vote for something, and then on someone's order you vote differently, because you simply make an idiot of yourself - he continued.

14:30

Czarzasty:

At some point, people will realize Sasin wants to rule hand-in-hand with Braun

- I think at some point it will dawn on people that Mr. Sasin wants to rule hand-in-hand with Mr. Braun. This is a very interesting story, because until now, everyone has pretty much run away from Braun, from his views, because we know that Mr. Braun's party is on the verge of delegalization - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said at a press conference.

14:41

"They Are Either Lying Deliberately or Not Communicating at All." Siemoniak on the "President's Aide's Suggestion"

- The suggestion by the president's aide that the president is unaware of the matter of transferring the remaining MiG-29 planes to Ukraine is untrue, given that it was discussed multiple times at weekly security committee meetings attended by a representative of the National Security Bureau. They are either lying deliberately or not communicating at all. Either way, it's compromising - wrote Tomasz Siemoniak on social media.

15:10

Tusk on Conversation with US Ambassador:

A Good Meeting.

- A good meeting. Ambassador Rose is a true friend of Poland and perfectly understands our external and internal situation - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

15:17

Kosiniak-Kamysz Responds to President's Circle's Accusations and Discusses Protocols:

Lies cannot be tolerated.

- Misleading the public by representatives of Mr. President. You know me well, you've known me for a long time, you know my character, my search for agreement, cooperation, and security. It must be, and is, kept out of political dispute, but lies, especially repeatedly told ones, cannot be tolerated - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in the Sejm.

- Regarding the situation with the MiGs, the possible transfer, handing them over to Ukraine, and in return acquiring drone and missile capabilities, this issue was discussed several times during President Duda's term, and also during President Nawrocki's term, during the National Security Committee of the Council of Ministers, which meets every Tuesday - he continued.

- A representative of the President participates in, and is invited to, every such committee. This was the case during Andrzej Duda's presidency, and it is the case during Karol Nawrocki's presidency. Recently, this topic, which has been raised repeatedly in the committee, especially in recent months, and more recently under President Nawrocki, has been discussed twice – on September 16 and November 4, for which there are protocols that were drawn up after these committees - the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

15:26

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Left's Proposal:

I Don't Believe Assurances That 12% Will Be Less Than 9%

- I don't believe such assurances that if there's a 9% health contribution, which can still be partially deducted, it also applies to entrepreneurs, and 12% will be less than 9%. I don't believe that - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in the Sejm.

15:27

"They Are a Threat to State Security." Kosiniak-Kamysz on Braun's Party and "Lunatics"

- It is very concerning because it is difficult to find greater lunatics threatening Poland's security than Mr. Braun's comrades. They are truly a threat to the security of the Polish state, to Poland's development - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in the Sejm.

15:58

Government Launches Billboard Campaign:

Sometimes We Don't Boast Enough.

"We act, not talk, so sometimes we don't boast enough about what this government has done for Poland. That's why we're launching a billboard campaign." - wrote Adam Szłapka on X.

16:23

Przydacz's Advice for Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Before Levelling Sharp Accusations, It's Worth Looking in the Mirror.

"Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz vehemently accuses [someone] of lying. This is very unbecoming. President K. Nawrocki himself directly indicated that he was neither consulted nor informed on this matter." - wrote Marcin Przydacz on X.

"I don't know who WKK maintains relations with and whom he informs, but apparently not Mr. President. Such information did not reach me or my office. Yesterday, before the conference, we also verified this information with the National Security Bureau (BBN) and received direct indication from that office as well about the lack of information and consultation." - he continued in his post.

"Perhaps Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz would directly indicate exactly when he approached the President with this matter? If he did not and did not speak directly, does he consider such a situation optimal? Before levelling sharp accusations, it's worth looking in the mirror." - he added.

"The President is visiting Polish Contingent soldiers in Latvia today. The government, as evident, is preoccupied with politicking and stirring up negative emotions." - he noted.

16:44

Announces Head of the Presidential Cabinet:

Two Important Meetings Addressing Real Problems of Poles,

"Next week, as part of an expert forum hosted by the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland, I am organizing two important meetings addressing the real problems of Poles," wrote Paweł Szefernaker on X.

"The first meeting will take place at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday, December 17th, and will focus on the revolutionary changes in education proposed by the government. A bill radically altering this area has been sent for the President's signature." - he continued in his post.

"In connection with this, numerous positions have been sent to the Chancellery of the President, including appeals signed by nearly 100 organizations, as well as opinions from trade unions and student representatives." - he noted.

"The second meeting, on Friday, December 19th, at the Belvedere, will concern electricity prices in Poland. A month ago, President Karol Nawrocki announced a concept for lowering energy bills and submitted a draft bill to the Sejm. Experts have positively assessed the President's proposal, and from the government, we have heard a whole range of opinions – from support to outright reluctance and… silence. Time is running out, and the protective mechanisms will expire at the end of the year, leaving Poles with higher bills in the coming year." - he added.

"The President's proposal is on the table. Will the government present any solutions? We cannot wait any longer; we invite representatives of the government, industry experts, and the business sector to a meeting dedicated to lowering energy prices. It's time to move from comments to concrete actions." - he stated.

18:03

Sikorski Publishes Post Following Meeting of 'Coalition of the Willing' Leaders:

Europe Holds Strong Cards. It's High Time to Use Them.

"Another meeting of the 'coalition of the willing' leaders. The only solution is a true, lasting, and just peace. Europe holds strong cards. It's high time to use them," wrote Radosław Sikorski on X.

20:03

Czarnek:

If the President Says He Didn't Receive Information About Transferring Planes to Ukraine, It's Grounds for Government Resignation

- If the President of the Republic of Poland openly states in public that he has not received information about such actions by the Polish government and the transfer of planes to Ukraine, it is a scandal in itself and grounds for the government's resignation - Przemysław Czarnek said in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- On matters as fundamental as the security of the Polish state and cooperation in achieving the quickest possible peace in Ukraine and defeating Russia, the President, the supreme commander of the Armed Forces, the highest-ranking representative of the Republic of Poland, cannot be left out of such information - he argued.

20:05

The MiG Deal for Ukraine. Czarnek: I Believe President Nawrocki 100%

- I believe in President Karol Nawrocki 100%, and in this sense, it's a scandal that should be grounds for the government's resignation - said Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń", when asked about the President's words today regarding the transfer of MiGs to Ukraine.

We quoted them here.

20:14

Cieszyński:

The President Talks with Trump, the Prime Minister Talks with the Ambassador

- This is the division, you are 100% correct. President Karol Nawrocki is talking with President Donald Trump, and Prime Minister Donald Tusk is talking with Ambassador Tom Rose - stated Janusz Cieszyński on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:15

Cieszyński:

Tusk is Persona Non Grata in Washington Due to Puppyish Antics

- Donald Tusk hasn't been in Washington at all, because he hasn't been invited. Since Donald Trump became president, Donald Tusk, due to his puppyish antics, sticking a pistol in someone's back, is persona non grata; the whole world knows it. Poland has been sidelined from discussions about Ukraine - said Janusz Cieszyński on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:23

Biejat:

I hope Braun will cease to be a problem. Braun's place is in prison

- I hope that Mr. Braun will soon cease to be a problem and will cease to be a possibility. I am not afraid to speak the truth, what I think, and I think that Mr. Braun's place is in prison. I am glad that the European Parliament has finally lifted his immunity, that an investigation will be initiated, that he will face court, and I hope for a conviction - said Magdalena Biejat on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:23

Czarnek on Morawiecki:

He Underwent Self-Reflection.

- I am glad that there is reflection among the main actors of certain, well, it would be a stretch to call them misunderstandings. These misunderstandings [within PiS] have been clarified - said Przemysław Czarnek on "Gość Wydarzeń" Polsat News.

- I am glad about the statements made yesterday, for example, by Prime Minister Morawiecki, who underwent a kind of self-reflection - indicated the deputy head of PiS.

- There is no point today in announcing anyone as prime minister and saying: this one will be, this one won't be in the government. Today is not about posts, today is about working together to bring Poland back onto the path of great development, security above all, including security for employees, for families - he continued.
