President's Visit to Latvia

Today, President Karol Nawrocki is visiting Latvia. At 8:00 AM, a welcome ceremony by the President of the Republic of Latvia, Egils Levits, is scheduled. This will be followed by a joint photo session, a one-on-one meeting between the two leaders (8:10 AM), and plenary talks between the delegations, led by both presidents, during a working breakfast (8:30 AM). At 9:50 AM, a joint press conference will be held by Nawrocki and Levits.

At 10:30 AM, President Nawrocki will meet with the Prime Minister of Latvia, Evika Siliņa. Subsequently, at 11:45 AM, he will visit the military base in Ādaži, where a speech is planned.

The final item on Nawrocki's visit agenda is a meeting with the Polish diaspora in Riga (5:25 PM). Here, the head of state is also expected to give an address.

Kosiniak-Kamysz in Zegrze and Gdańsk

At 9:00 AM, in the Territorial Defence Forces Command in Zegrze, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Minister of National Defence Cezary Tomczyk, and Chief of the General Staff Gen. Wiesław Kukuła will participate in the "Szpejowisko 2.0" conference.

Following that, at 12:00 PM, at Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. shipyard in Gdańsk, the Minister of National Defence will attend the christening and launching ceremony of the sixth Kormoran II-class minehunter in the series.

Investigative Committee Session

At 2:00 PM, a session of the parliamentary investigative committee on Pegasus will commence, with planned hearings of the former Deputy Head of the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA), Grzegorz Ocieczek, and the former Head of the CBA, Andrzej Stróżny.

Korwin's Conference

At 11:30 AM, a press conference of the KORWiN party will be held, with the participation of its chairman, Janusz Korwin-Mikke, announced as "The KORWiN Party Enters the Fray!". - Yes, I am actually a supporter of left-wing consolidation. I believe that a fragmented left will not serve left-wing thought in parliamentary elections. It is reading tea leaves to predict what the electoral situation will look like in two years. - Braun is a threat to the public interest, Braun is a threat to citizens, to our national security. I believe that there is no place for Braun in Polish politics; instead, there's a place for him in prison. I believe Braun should not run in any future elections, and I believe all these views must simply be condemned, absolutely condemned, because there is no place for them in healthy public debate - said Łukasz Michnik on "Gość Radia Zet".

"I proposed to the Prime Minister, I asked for a meeting, I asked for it, it will be two months ago by now, and since then there has been no meeting. This is once again the Prime Minister's decision. - No, I won’t repeat that - Janusz Cieszyński stated on Polsat News’s “Graffiti,” when asked if he would repeat, following Jacek Sasin, that he prefers Grzegorz Braun to Donald Tusk.

- I think there is no obligation to choose between whether you cut off my left leg or my right leg. Well, I want to keep both and leave the studio - he stated.

- Poland 2050 is not falling apart, nothing of the sort is happening. This is also something being amplified around us, and not just recently, but from the very beginning, 5 years ago when we were founded, it was always like this: they won't last much longer, they won't make it to the elections, they won't survive the elections, they won't win the elections, they won't survive a year in coalition - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on RMF FM.

- I'm asking where these sources come from, it sounds a bit like some tabloid gossip - Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz said on RMF FM, when asked about Onet's reports that around 10 people, including Joanna Mucha, Ryszard Petru, and Michał Kobosko, would leave the party in the event of her victory in the Poland 2050 elections.

- Reading this article, I get the impression that it sides with someone in our internal Poland 2050 elections, and that already makes me think deeply - she continued.

- I have a strange feeling that someone is scared, someone is afraid of me. Unnecessarily, really - she added.

- The minister [Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda] also spoke about introducing co-payments and additional insurance. This means it's a foretelling of a healthcare system exclusively for the rich – Janusz Cieszyński stated on Polsat News' "Graffiti."

- What's more, there are official data from the Central Statistical Office indicating that private healthcare expenditures have already increased by PLN 10 billion in 2024. For comparison, in the previous year, they only rose by around PLN 3 billion. Thus, we are already dealing with silent privatization, and it's still intended to be further pushed and intensified – he assessed.

In his opinion: - The minister was appointed to her position by Donald Tusk, but she was not given the tools to perform her job, and therefore, I understand, in an act of desperation, she is talking about these matters.

"Our national interest lies in the fact that the further away Russians are from our borders, if there is an independent country between us and aggressive Russia, that is good for us, and everyone in Poland who questions this obvious, unequivocal interest of ours in security is acting not in the name of Polish raison d'état, but in the name of Russian raison d'état," said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on RMF FM.

"Unfortunately, there are politicians and political forces that are increasingly trying to show that: [...] our greatest enemy is in the West and in Germany, our greatest enemy is in Brussels, and that is the Soviet Union," she continued.

"I am certainly talking about Braun's party and about some voices from Konfederacja, I would put it that way. And they are still trying to build a sense in Poland that the threat from Ukraine for us is much greater than the threat from Russia, which is simply an absolute nonsense," she went on to say.

"This will not change my assessment of the fact that what [this party] promotes regarding our security and Russia is anti-Polish," she added, after the host pointed out that Braun's party has 10% in the polls.

- Poland 2050, as a parliamentary group, submitted a slightly softened [bill], this is an area for discussion for us within the coalition on how to act optimally here - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on RMF FM, when asked about the coalition submitting the exact same bill on cryptocurrencies and expecting the president to behave differently this time.

- We believe that perhaps it is worth looking for a solution that meets halfway in some areas, so that the main, essential, fundamental matter is settled. As Poland 2050, we have put such a proposal on the table as a parliamentary group and we are ready for discussion within the coalition - she continued.

- Ultimately, effectiveness is important, and a solution is important. The fact that one is one hundred percent right, for that reason alone, does not ultimately lead to any solution, which is probably not what voters wish for. However, with all my heart and understanding, I am on the side of those who say "it needs to be regulated" - she continued.

- From the President's side, there is also no great, conciliatory wisdom visible, if we are to be fair about these matters. [...] We say "we are the center" [...] a centrist party is a party that can admit: it is sometimes worth thinking a little about a compromise solution, so that there is a solution and that at the end of the day it is a step better. It might not have been one hundred percent ideal, but it was a step better - she added.

- Of course, this builds security, on the one hand, the conviction that we must build our responsibility for our armed forces, which Poland is doing and which Latvia is doing with equal efficiency and effectiveness, but on the other hand, we agree with Mr. President that the United States and the presence of American troops in Europe is a guarantee for our region and the world - Karol Nawrocki continued.

- President Donald Trump, the President of the United States, had to come and speak to Western Europe so that they would understand. After all, the countries of Central Europe have been saying for many years that Europe is in a state of crisis, in a state of chaos, and is not dealing with matters most crucial to the security of our region - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Riga.

- I personally am also pleased and consider it a success for my office that we did not sign the National Security Strategy and are working on developing a new National Security Strategy, because we see that the National Security Strategy of our greatest security ally, the United States, is now coming to light and we can see it - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Riga.

- Therefore, we must also align our National Security Strategy with the vision of our ally, and thus the decisions made 3 months ago, also commented on in the media, which raised certain reservations among some politicians, are today taking on a concrete dimension before your eyes - Karol Nawrocki continued.

- Regarding military service, today we have voluntary basic service, and as I know from analyses and statistics, we do not have a significant problem with individuals wanting to join the Polish Army at present. There are many willing Polish patriots who want to undertake military training in the format of voluntary basic service. I encourage all Poles to join voluntary basic service. I know there are different models among our neighbors - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Riga.

- Of course, we should not exclude, and in this context I read the words of Professor Cenkiewicz, we should not exclude the situation that Professor Cenkiewicz spoke about. Today, as long as there are more volunteers, many willing individuals to participate in training within voluntary basic service, or to serve in the Territorial Defence Force, we are fulfilling our duties as the Polish state. So, I would certainly not exclude it. I don't know what it will look like in the coming years, but today I consider voluntary basic service and the Territorial Defence Force to be sufficient to cover this scope of duties - Karol Nawrocki continued.

- There must have been some misunderstanding here, I didn't have such information. I confirmed this again today at the National Security Bureau. Such information did not reach me, but I am confident that we will clarify this matter with Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz and reach an agreement on this issue. However, my colleagues were right; I did not receive official information about such actions and the transfer of MiGs to Ukraine - stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Riga.

- There is a veto that will be voted on, likely on Wednesday [...] the Sejm presidium and the convention of seniors have accepted such timelines [...] preliminarily, it is planned for 6 PM and after a discussion on the veto, probably, as it is currently noted in the plan, it will be put to a vote - Włodzimierz Czarzasty stated at a press conference, when asked when the Sejm would address the president's veto on the chain act.

- Over 20 people from PiS voted for this [chain] bill. I understand there has been a change on the right regarding leadership, and I understand that the current head of PiS is President Nawrocki, and that he ordered them, including Mr. Kaczyński, to now vote against what they previously voted for - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said at a press conference.

- Misleading the public by representatives of Mr. President. You know me well, you've known me for a long time, you know my character, my search for agreement, cooperation, and security. It must be, and is, kept out of political dispute, but lies, especially repeatedly told ones, cannot be tolerated - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in the Sejm.

- Regarding the situation with the MiGs, the possible transfer, handing them over to Ukraine, and in return acquiring drone and missile capabilities, this issue was discussed several times during President Duda's term, and also during President Nawrocki's term, during the National Security Committee of the Council of Ministers, which meets every Tuesday - he continued.

"Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz vehemently accuses [someone] of lying. This is very unbecoming. President K. Nawrocki himself directly indicated that he was neither consulted nor informed on this matter." - wrote Marcin Przydacz on X.

"Next week, as part of an expert forum hosted by the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland, I am organizing two important meetings addressing the real problems of Poles," wrote Paweł Szefernaker on X.

- If the President of the Republic of Poland openly states in public that he has not received information about such actions by the Polish government and the transfer of planes to Ukraine, it is a scandal in itself and grounds for the government's resignation - Przemysław Czarnek said in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.
