Friday's Political Agenda: Tusk Opens Ammunition Production Hall, Duda Continues Singapore Visit

At 10:10, a press conference by the Left parliamentary club will take place in the Sejm. Participants will include Monika Sikora, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy; Paulina Piechna-Więckiewicz, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of National Education; and Włodzimierz Czarzasty, co-chair of The New Left. The conference will focus on the current activities of the Left ministers.

At 11:30, at the headquarters of Mesko S.A. in Skarżysko-Kamienna, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will participate in the opening ceremony of a production hall as part of the Project 400 investment, aimed at increasing ammunition production in Poland. A press conference with the head of government is scheduled.

President Andrzej Duda continues his visit to Singapore, where he will attend the opening of the Poland–Singapore Business Forum "How to reach economic success in turbulent times: Poland – Singapore high level business roundtable," and will also visit PSA International. The schedule also includes plenary discussions of delegations led by the President of the Republic of Poland and the Prime Minister of Singapore.

Bodnar on separating the offices of Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General:

There is a chance for cooperation with the President.
- Prime Minister Tusk clearly stated in his exposé that the government's plan is to achieve the separation of the offices of Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General. The bill is ready, it needs to be adopted by the Council of Ministers and move forward. I think in this case there is a chance for cooperation with the president, because it's hard for me to imagine why the president would question a solution that de facto limits the influence or impact of the executive branch - stated Adam Bodnar in "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

08:32

Wipler on the Supreme Court’s Decision Regarding Recounting Some Votes:

Completely Insignificant.
- This is completely insignificant, it will not affect the overall election result. The lead and the difference of these three hundred-plus thousand votes will not melt away after recounting these dozen or so commissions - said Przemysław Wipler in an interview with Grzegorz Kępka in “Graffiti” on Polsat News, when asked about the Supreme Court’s decision. - There are usually hundreds, even thousands, of such protests after presidential elections. These election protests, reporting irregularities, must be on a very large scale for the Supreme Court to decide not to approve the regularity of the presidential election process - he continued.

08:37

Bodnar:

I Don't Intend to Announce New Competitions Until the Situation in the KRS is Rectified
- Of course, I do not intend to announce new competitions until the situation in the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) is rectified. Regarding this project, I think we need, and I personally need, a significant discussion with the legal community on how to approach this new situation. This week I had a meeting with all the presidents of appellate courts and district courts; it was a good discussion - stated Adam Bodnar in "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

08:42

Wipler:

Recounting a Few Polling Stations is Like Counting a Sixtieth of My Hairs. It Won't Change the Fact That I'm Not Bald
- I am convinced that such a practice [recounting all votes] will not happen. I am convinced that if all votes in Poland were recounted, there would be irregularities in both directions, which would balance each other out - said Przemysław Wipler in "Graffiti" Polsat News. - From experience, we know that with such a large number of polling stations – because there are about 40,000 polling stations in Poland – recounting a few stations is like you counting a sixtieth of my hairs on my head. You can count how many I have, but it won't change whether someone says I'm bald or not bald. Sir, I am not bald, and it's visible - he stated.

08:50

Czarnek as Head of Nawrocki's Chancellery? Wipler: He Would Absolutely Manage the Task
- I think this is primarily a chancellery that will have people with whom President Karol Nawrocki wants to cooperate. Przemysław Czarnek is a man who was Karol Nawrocki's main rival, who is very popular with the PiS electorate. He is a very serious politician who would absolutely be up to the task of heading the presidential chancellery - said Przemysław Wipler in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

08:56

Przydacz:

I spoke with President Nawrocki about the future of the Chancellery; if he wanted my support, he could count on it
- I am already part of the President-elect's team, assisting the President as I did during the campaign, as a member of his staff - said Marcin Przydacz in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the "Gość Radia Zet" program, when asked if he would join Karol Nawrocki's team as Minister for Foreign Affairs. - That will be President Karol Nawrocki's decision. I am in direct contact with the President, speaking with him basically every day - he continued, when asked if he would be a minister in the Presidential Chancellery after Nawrocki's inauguration. - We will communicate, or rather, the President will communicate the composition of his Chancellery when he deems it appropriate and when he has concrete information to share. But, of course, yes, we are talking. I also spoke with the President about the future of the Chancellery, what it should be like, who should be part of it - he elaborated. - I would consider it a great honor. It is clear that if the President of the Republic wanted my support, he could count on it - he added, when asked if he would accept such a proposal if it were made.

09:04

Przydacz:

Nawrocki is certainly closest to PiS, but everyone will be surprised by how independent a president he will be
- He has never been a member of a political party, so he is not formally part of that environment. He has right-wing or center-right views, and he is certainly closest to the Law and Justice party, but I think both you, Madam Editor, and all of you will be surprised by how independent a president Karol Nawrocki will be, because he is simply a person of independent character - said Marcin Przydacz on Radio Zet. - He has a strong character, firm views, and I believe he will make decisions based on his analysis - he continued. - Yes [the election campaign was not easy], that's true, yes, there were situations where, for example, the campaign staff suggested certain solutions to the candidate, and the candidate said: I greatly respect your opinion, but I have a different intuition, and we need to discuss this further - he went on to say.

09:08

Wipler on the Coalition:

Everything They've Saved for When a President from Tusk's Camp Takes Office Must Be Thrown in the Bin.
- We need a change in the model of cooperation between the head of state and the prime minister, the head of government. Because the last dozen or so months have been wasted, because the government had a very bad strategy. They had a strategy like this: okay, we won't talk to the president at all and we'll do everything we can to replace him with our man. It didn't work out – said Przemysław Wipler in Polsat News's "Graffiti". He assessed: - Everything they've saved for the moment when there is a president from Donald Tusk's camp, they must throw in the bin. The government must rebuild its strategy. Stop being aggressive towards the head of state, start cooperating, recognize the president's prerogatives.

09:11

Przydacz:

Information is spreading in the Middle East that another Polish soldier is being prosecuted for using his weapon at the border
- In all these Middle Eastern countries, information has been reprinted stating that another Polish soldier is being prosecuted by the Polish prosecutor's office for using his weapon at the Polish border. This information is being spread in the Middle East - said Marcin Przydacz on Radio Zet, when asked about a film discouraging migration, which people in Afghanistan and Ethiopia, among others, are to see. - Migrants are saying to themselves: okay, so a Polish soldier cannot shoot, which means we can try even more to cross this border, because if he shoots even as a warning, Prosecutor Bodnar will soon prosecute him, because that's exactly what is happening - he continued.

09:18

Nawrocki's Visit to Washington? Przydacz: Preliminary talks are underway, it will definitely happen sooner rather than later
- It's a bit too early to prepare, it's an important, major visit, so you need to have the instruments and tools - Marcin Przydacz said on Radio Zet, when asked when Karol Nawrocki's visit to Washington might be possible, whether a timeframe can be set, or if it's too early.

- Preliminary talks are already underway, I even spoke with the Americans yesterday about this potential scenario, about what form such a visit would take. It will definitely happen, and sooner rather than later, but regarding the date, it is definitely too early today - he continued.

09:29

Kaleta on the Constitutional Tribunal’s Ruling on the Green Deal:

Opens the Path to Solutions Lowering Electricity Prices for Poles.
This is a groundbreaking ruling because the Constitutional Tribunal has confirmed what we have been saying for many years, first Minister Ziobro as Minister of Justice, we as his colleagues, many people, that the climate package, the first one, and the Green Deal are being implemented in an illegal manner – stated Sebastian Kaleta on Radio Wnet. – As a result of this ruling, it has very significant importance for the lives of Poles because it opens the path to preparing solutions that will lower electricity prices for Poles – he added.

09:30

Przydacz on the Ceremony of Handing Over the Certificate of Election to Nawrocki:

The Absence of the Sejm and Senate Marshals Seems Inappropriate.
- Regarding the handover of information, the certificate of election [...] one thing about it truly offends me, and I must say it, the fact that the Marshal of the Sejm, the Marshal of the Senate were not present at this ceremony - said Marcin Przydacz on Radio Zet.

- It seems like a kind of inappropriateness to me - he continued.

- Respect to the PSL politicians, because both Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz and Marshal Zgorzelski were there - he added.

09:30

Kaleta on Giertych's Actions Regarding the Elections:

Deep Fear of Responsibility for the Scale of Lawlessness.
- On the one hand, this is a very deep fear of responsibility for the scale of lawlessness that we have observed in Poland in recent months, and attempts to delay the verdict of Poles concerning the choice of president. On the other hand, beyond a narrow circle of fanatical supporters of Donald Tusk, even the mainstream commentators do not believe in all these pronouncements [slanders] - stated Sebastian Kaleta on Radio Wnet.

09:35

Przydacz:

I Disagree with Banning MPs or MEPs from the Sejm. Marshal Hołownia Has Already Violated the Law in This Regard.
- I am not a proponent of such exhibitions in the Sejm, they should not take place, but I am also not a proponent of such happenings that involve destroying someone's property. One can criticize it, one can bring about a situation where it disappears from there, not necessarily by destroying it - said Marcin Przydacz on Radio Zet, when asked if Grzegorz Braun should be banned from the Sejm after destroying an exhibition about LGBT. - I disagree with banning MPs or MEPs from the Sejm, I believe it is inappropriate behavior and unfortunately, Marshal Hołownia has already violated the law in this regard, because he previously prevented legally elected MPs from entering the Sejm - he continued.

09:41

Przydacz:

Coalition with Confederation Possible in the Future
- I approach the creation of a coalition before the elections with great reservation. I believe that a potential coalition with Konfederacja in the future is possible, although I would prefer for us, as Law and Justice, to win these elections sufficiently to govern independently. If that is not possible, we will look for a coalition partner - said Marcin Przydacz on Radio Zet.

11:05

I Urge Giertych and Others Not to Create a Threat to Poland Around This Matter." Czarzasty on Irregularities in Vote Counting
- In commissions where votes need to be recounted, the votes should be recounted. The Supreme Court will manage this matter, and these cases are collected by the Supreme Court and the National Electoral Commission. In commissions where crimes have occurred, the prosecutor's office should intervene, and people should be punished - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said at a press conference. - We need to thank all the people who are reporting irregularities [...] at the same time, I urge Giertych and various individuals not to create a situation threatening our country at this moment, Poland, and various things, because the number of these irregularities that will be reported by June 16th will be countable - he continued. - Therefore, let's simply not rely on situations, I don't know, of dozens and not draw conclusions as if this situation happened on a massive scale. That is, I ask for reasonableness in this matter. There are institutions that must clarify this, criminals should go to prison in this matter, and mistakes should be corrected in the protocols - he went on to say.

11:16

New Coalition Agreement and No Change in Sejm Marshal? Czarzasty: Hołownia Changes His Mind Every Three Days, We Must Wait for His Views to Stabilize
- My friend Szymon Hołownia, the head of the Sejm, changes his mind on this matter every three days. It seems to me that we need to wait for these views to stabilize, and when they do, we will respond responsibly - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference, when asked about Szymon Hołownia's post about the need for a new coalition agreement and to what extent he is ready for concessions in the renegotiated agreement, or if the scenario where Hołownia remains in the Sejm Marshal's seat is being considered. - I have no desire to constantly justify the actions of these people who want to break an agreement they themselves signed. [...] I would also defend Szymon Hołownia, I really would defend him, because soon it will turn out that Szymon Hołownia, because he did not become president, is nervously clinging to some seat. He doesn't deserve that - he continued. - He is a smart guy, he is a sensible guy who has perspective on life, who is a good Marshal of the Sejm, and really, saying about him that because Szymon, you didn't win, you want to stay Marshal of the Sejm and no one understands it, that harms him. And because I defend all those who are harmed, I also defend Szymon - he went on to say.

11:23

Czarzasty:

My Friends from the Together Party Can Take Power, but They Fear Responsibility
- That's what politics is for, to take power and take responsibility. There are parties in Poland that can take power but fear that responsibility; these are my friends from the Together party. And there are parties that say: even if we govern imperfectly, we will work on it to make things better and better, but you have to take responsibility for the country because that's why you're in politics. Not to criticize, but to change the world - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said at a press conference. - Precisely, scholarships of 15,000 [złoty] for three years for people from less affluent backgrounds, for young people, and more psychiatric and psychological care, is exactly this kind of initiative. If we weren't in this government, this wouldn't exist. And because we are, we believe in it, we are implementing it, and we will implement many other things - he continued.

11:55

Tusk:

I will cooperate with the devil when it comes to matters like national interest or Poland's security
- The homeland demands various sacrifices. And all of us, whether General Sokołowski, President Leszkiewicz, or myself in the role of Prime Minister, will never be picky about circumstances. Wherever Poland needs cooperation, I will cooperate with the devil when it comes to matters like national interest or Poland's security. So there is no problem. To be honest, I am not particularly concerned and I am not particularly interested in opinions about me or any malicious remarks - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference during his visit to MESKO S.A.

11:56

Tusk:

There is a vast space where we, as Poles, must stand together, unquestionably
The campaign is over, so it would be good to truly embrace positive thinking about what we can do together. We are in a place that shows there is a whole vast space where we, as Poles, must stand together, unquestionably. Therefore, I will not be sharing my evaluations of the merits of this or that individual from the opposition camp. I will be seeking, wherever possible and necessary, a model of cooperation - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference during his visit to MESKO S.A.

11:58

Tusk:

I would expect the current and future president to put aside emotions and negativity and seek opportunities for cooperation
- If the future president intends to begin his term by announcing which Polish diplomat cannot be an ambassador because he doesn't like them, then it's not a good start. I would expect the current and future president to put aside emotions and a negative approach and rather seek opportunities for cooperation - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference during his visit to MESKO S.A.

11:59

A Fundamental Shift to Boost Our Arms Production: Tusk at the Opening of a New Ammunition Production Hall
- We are in a place that is already operational, but it is also worthy of such an official opening because we truly have something to be proud of. This is a reason for satisfaction for everyone who has been involved in such a turnaround, because we can speak of a fundamental shift here regarding investments, reorganizations, and giving new impetus to our arms production – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

11:59

Tusk on Arms Import:

We're Doing Everything to Change These Unfavorable Proportions.
- When it comes to the defense industry, this is an absolutely crucial issue. We have said many times how many billions of zlotys we are allocating to defense in Poland, in very diverse aspects, and this also means investments in ammunition, in weapons, in the most modern equipment. We are doing everything to change these proportions, which have been unfavorable for years, when it comes to spending on armaments for the Polish army, because these proportions have favored, and in very bad proportions, import for years – Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference.

12:02

Tusk on Small-Caliber Ammunition Production at MESKO Plants:

A Million Rounds a Day.
We are in this new production hall, we will increase production, for example, here specifically at MESKO, in this part of the plant, we are talking about the production of ammunition, small-caliber rounds, and we will be producing, I don't want to exaggerate, but if I understand correctly, a million rounds of this type of ammunition per day – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

12:02

Tusk on Israel's Attack on Iran:

Last Night's Events Show How Unstable the World Situation Is.
- Last night's events, I'm talking about Israel's attack on Iran, also show how unstable the world situation is. I am in constant contact with the Minister of Foreign Affairs. There is no reason to worry about our diplomats in Tehran for now, but we are, of course, prepared for any eventuality – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

12:10

Tusk:

Recounting votes where clear abuses or errors occurred is the only sensible decision
- Recounting votes where clear abuses or clear errors have occurred, and no one disputes that, is the only sensible decision. I expect from all institutions; people often ask: Mr. Tusk, why aren't you counting votes, why aren't you annulling the elections? We all need to be serious. There are institutions that are appointed for this, and it's not the government - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference during his visit to MESKO S.A.

12:12

Tusk on Establishing a Special Team Regarding Elections:

I Will Address the Prosecutor General.
- I will address the Prosecutor General, urging him not to hesitate in taking action, perhaps even establishing a special team concerning events that may involve criminal offenses, specifically regarding abuses or falsification of elections - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference during his visit to MESKO S.A. - And I emphasize once again - not because my intention is to overturn the election results, but the Polish state cannot disregard any signal indicating that there was falsification, abuse, ill will, or simple incompetence somewhere. All of this must be investigated - he continued.

12:19

Tusk Asked About Vote Recount:

The Government Should Not Interfere in Electoral Procedures Themselves.
- Regarding the issue of vote recounting - I emphasize once again, the government should not interfere in electoral procedures themselves. That would be bad from the perspective of the foundations of democracy. Since both the Supreme Court and the National Electoral Commission acknowledge that where there are clear signals of irregularities, votes should be recounted, currently concerning 12 or 13 commissions, I have no doubts, and it's not about MP Giertych's arguments, I understand the emotions on both sides, but let's set that aside - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference during his visit to MESKO S.A. - Since it has been decided, and it's not my decision, but that of these neutral institutions, independent of the government, to recount the votes because irregularities or suspicion of criminal offenses were found, I will not call today for votes to be recounted across the entire country everywhere, but it seems obvious to me that wherever there is a probability of irregularities, it must be done there - he continued.

12:21

Tusk:

Ask those loudest about changing the coalition agreement what they truly want
- Ask those who are loudest today about the need to change something in the coalition agreement what they actually mean. I know that what we have done so far, we must do even better, faster. That is for sure, but who imagines what the agreement could look like differently, that's a question not for me, because I am focused on what we have to do – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference during his visit to MESKO S.A.

14:16

Israel's Attack on Iran. Kosiniak-Kamysz: The Army is on Standby for Potential Evacuation of Polish Citizens
- I have received information from our attaché in Tehran that no one from the staff of either the attaché's office or the embassy suffered any harm, nor were there any reports to the embassy of any Polish citizens being harmed. We have the same reports from Israel, from our envoys, representatives in Israel - Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said at a press conference in Dęblin. - We earnestly request, as this situation is very dynamic, that people follow the official communiqués and adhere to the advisories from local authorities and all information that will be disseminated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - he appealed. As he declared: - The army is on standby in the event that an evacuation becomes necessary. So far, no such need has been reported. The entire operation is being managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by the minister himself. I spoke with him twice today, and I confirmed to him the full readiness of our air force to provide support and assistance, should the need arise to evacuate Polish citizens.

14:20

Kosiniak-Kamysz Announces Receipt of First Apache Helicopters
- Good news: next week I will be in Inowrocław, we will be receiving the first Polish Apaches, which we are procuring based on a contract signed last year, supplemented by a lease this year, so that Polish pilots can already start training - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference in Dęblin.

14:34

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Giertych's Actions Are Not a Good Strategy. Questioning Poles' Decisions Is Irresponsible
- I believe that what Roman Giertych is doing in this matter is not a good strategy. Every vote counts, and all doubts should be clarified. But today, questioning the decisions of Poles in any way is irresponsible - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference in Dęblin, when asked about Roman Giertych's appeal to Karol Nawrocki for support in recounting all votes. - Karol Nawrocki won the presidential election. On August 6th, he will take the oath before the National Assembly. The measure of responsibility for the state is primarily respect for citizens and their decisions - continued the Deputy Prime Minister. - Of course, I am in favor of every election protest being considered, and every protest must be explained. But questioning the election results at this time, at this moment, is simply irresponsible, and even harmful - he assessed.

14:42

Braun Banned from Sejm until End of Term
"An order prohibiting entry and access to the grounds, as well as entry into the buildings managed by the Chancellery of the Sejm, for Member of the European Parliament Grzegorz Braun has come into effect" – the Chancellery of the Sejm announced on X. The Marshal of the Sejm issued this order after Braun destroyed the "Tęczowe Opole" exhibition. The MEP is banned from entering the lower house of parliament until the end of the current term.

14:46

Kosiniak-Kamysz Appeals to Coalition Partners:

It Ended Badly.
- I would see it this way: first we agree on it within the coalition, and then we inform the public - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference in Dęblin, when asked how a government reshuffle should look.

- If we don't learn from these 18 months, where each party went out and said what they wanted to do first in front of the cameras, and then at meetings - it ended badly. I don't want it to end badly - stated the leader of the Polish People's Party (PSL).

In his opinion: - First, agreements with the Prime Minister, agreements within the coalition, and then presentation. Let's adopt this strategy, and this is a request to my coalition partners. Not on platform X, not at press conferences, but let's agree among ourselves, and then we move forward – without quarrels, without disputes, forward.

15:57

Bodnar on the Prosecutor's Office's Involvement in Investigating Election Irregularities:

I Absolutely Consider This One of My Most Important Duties.
- Currently, 190 election appeals have been filed. The deadline for submitting appeals is June 16th, so there are still a few days left. I suspect this number will increase. The prosecutor's office's role in these matters is to provide opinions on all election appeals – said Adam Bodnar at a press conference. - To my knowledge, 61 appeals have already been received by the Supreme Court. The prosecutor's office has responded to most of them. A large portion of these were unfounded, however, some were so serious that they resulted in the prosecutor's office requesting a recount of votes. In reality, the entire procedure should be carried out by the Supreme Court or a district court delegated to perform this task – he continued. - Regardless of all this, various other irregularities may arise that might go beyond mere potential mistakes and could simply be related to the possible commission of a crime. Here, I would like to emphasize that the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw is conducting a verification proceeding in connection with the use of the application for checking electoral declarations [certificates of eligibility to vote] – he went on to say. - Other signals are also appearing; we are analyzing them on an ongoing basis, and these cases are being verified. I don't need to convince anyone here that the prosecutor's office is taking these matters absolutely seriously – he added. - We will consider whether a separate investigative team is necessary, or perhaps it will be sufficient for these matters to simply be handled by prosecutor's office units, but with an appropriate level of determination and commitment, so that none of us have any doubts about the prosecutor's office's full involvement in these cases. I absolutely consider this one of my most important duties during this particular period, until the final ruling of the Supreme Court on the validity of the elections – he emphasized.

16:07

Bodnar on Giertych:

Let Him Formulate an Appropriate Electoral Protest, and as Prosecutor General, I Will Respond to It.
- I believe that Roman Giertych engages in politics in various ways, through Twitter, through public statements, but he is a lawyer, he is a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Poland. Let him formulate an appropriate electoral protest, let him argue it properly, and as the prosecution, as the Prosecutor General, I will also respond to it – said Adam Bodnar at a press conference, when asked about Roman Giertych's opinion regarding the claim that votes should be recounted in all commissions and that falsification may have occurred by entering vote counts in reverse order to names. - I would like to see specific documents indicating these issues, and the prosecution will respond to them in the appropriate manner and through the proper channels – he continued.

16:14

Bodnar:

Accountability isn't moving too slowly; the legal system is simply structured so that everything must proceed at its own pace
- Accountability isn't moving too slowly; the legal system is simply structured so that everything must proceed at its own pace - stated Adam Bodnar at a press conference. - I have with me here two very experienced prosecutors, Mr. Prosecutor Krason, Prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk, and they know perfectly well that the mere preparation of charges and the gathering of evidence for them, the preparation of a motion to lift immunity, is not a matter of a press note in a newspaper - he continued. - This is a matter of immense work that must later be defended in court, against the professional representatives of the other side, sometimes also against MPs, when it comes to lifting immunity, and then further preparing indictments - he further elaborated.

16:17

Bodnar:

If the Prime Minister Deems Another Person is Needed as Minister of Justice, I Will Accept the Decision
- Regarding my ministry and any potential reconstruction, I believe every minister in the government of the Republic of Poland should approach their service to citizens with humility. If the Prime Minister decides that he needs another person in this position, and the ruling majority also reaches this conclusion, then of course I will accept such a decision - said Adam Bodnar at a press conference.

- I consider and have always considered it the greatest honor I could have professionally, to have been able to serve the Republic of Poland - he continued.

16:29

Bodnar on cooperation with Nawrocki as President:

The biggest challenge is the status of judges.
- Absolutely every minister in the government of the Republic of Poland should be ready to cooperate, including on matters concerning the rule of law - said Adam Bodnar at a press conference, when asked if he sees room for cooperation with the new president and when specific bills concerning judicial reform will land on his desk. - Today, an interesting interview was published in Wirtualna Polska with the president-elect, where he indicated that he is ready to sit down with the government as a package and think about certain things. I believe that justice system issues could be one of these packages for repairing Poland - he continued. - The most important bill is essentially ready, because it has already been passed by parliament, but was referred to the Constitutional Tribunal, namely the act on restoring the National Council of the Judiciary and the constitutional status of the National Council of the Judiciary. I don't think there is any great philosophy required to adopt and sign such a bill - he went on to say. - The second very important bill [...] separating the offices of Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, this bill is also ready. I think the biggest challenge is the status of judges. We have bills ready for this, but it seems to me that it requires more discussion, both with the legal community and, I believe, also with the Presidential Chancellery - he added.

Lower Than Initial Estimates, We Expect Further Declines." Domański Comments on Inflation Reading
"Inflation in May was 4.0% after all. Slightly lower than initial estimates. In the coming months, we expect further inflation declines, thanks in part to reduced gas tariffs," — wrote Andrzej Domański on X.

17:06

Tusk on inflation:

By the end of the year, we’ll bid farewell to PiS-induced inflation. A bet?
“Inflation even lower! 4.0! By summer we’ll have a 3 in front, and by the end of the year, we’ll bid farewell to PiS-induced inflation. A bet?” – wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the X portal.

18:50

Tusk:

Morawiecki Committed Poland to Paying Interest on Ukrainian Loan
"Morawiecki, on behalf of Poland, committed to paying interest on the Ukrainian loan. That's all regarding the facts" - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on X.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance published the content of its response to a parliamentary inquiry regarding the loan granted to Ukraine by the EU. On June 12, Grzegorz Płaczek, the leader of the Confederation parliamentary group, also shared it, however, he blurred out the first part of the document.

19:54

Morawiecki Responds to Tusk:

Be Silent and Educate Yourself, Rascal.
- The person who was afraid to go to Kyiv even with an escort in 2022 will not lecture me on what should have been done then – wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on the X portal. - And now be silent, rascal! And educate yourself, because what is in the photo is a bullet, and the whole internet is making a joke out of you – stated the former Prime Minister.

20:29

Berek:

We Will Present Legislative Projects and Strive to Navigate Any Situation Where the President Disagrees
- We are focused on one very simple thing - we will carry out our constitutional duties, we will present legislative projects to parliament, those that are necessary, and we will strive to navigate any situation where it turns out the president does not accept these solutions - said Maciej Berek in TVP Info's 'Question of the Day'. - Yes, it is much harder to enact laws because laws cannot be enacted without the president's consent. You cannot govern by resolutions, but there are various solutions; besides laws, one can also look for solutions… As we have seen, for example, in recent months - he stated. As he recalled: - When it turned out that it was impossible to pass legislative changes regarding the conditions for carrying out abortions, it was introduced through certain guidelines that fell within the bounds of the law. They are a weaker tool, but also effective.

20:38

Berek:

If Anyone Thinks We Will Stop and Fall into Lethargy – No, That Won't Happen
- We will not yield and we will not abandon the implementation of our constitutional tasks. If anyone thinks that we will stop now and fall into lethargy – no, that won't happen. We will carry out our tasks: the government, the ministries – said Maciej Berek in "Pytanie dnia" on TVP Info. - We will be preparing ways to implement state policies, just as we have been doing so far. And even, as has been said many times already, we will try to do it even more energetically – he indicated.

The Government Has Never Issued a Statement Questioning the Validity of the Elections
- The president's statements, suggesting some unauthorized interest in the electoral process, were very disturbing and inappropriate. This is unacceptable from a legal standpoint - said Maciej Berek in "Pytanie dnia" on TVP Info. - There has never been a statement from the government questioning the validity of these [presidential] elections. Moreover, it is not the government's responsibility to assess the correctness and validity of the electoral process. The Supreme Court will rule on this, the judges. This is how it is supposed to work, it is to be separated from the executive branch - he continued. - However, everyone has the right to file a protest and point out any shortcomings, if they believe there were any. […] It is forbidden to deprecate this, it is forbidden to call this a return to communism. This is unacceptable coming from a lawyer - he assessed.
