Tuesday's Political Agenda: Sejm and Government on Deregulation, President in Lithuania
President Andrzej Duda continues his visit to Lithuania. At 8:55 Polish time, he will meet with Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas, and at 11:55 - with President Gitanas Nausėda. A meeting of the presidents with the media is scheduled for 12:20. At 12:00, the Council of Ministers will address one project as part of the deregulation proposals, and will also hear information from the Minister of Family regarding new functionalities of the mObywatel application for persons with disabilities, and from Minister Berk on the coordination of the legislative process implementing deregulation. Furthermore, the ministers will discuss the draft amendment to the Consular Law. The Sejm will commence its deliberations at 10:00 with procedural votes. Subsequently, the MPs will address two projects from the so-called deregulation package - the government's draft amendment to the law on the mObywatel application, as well as the draft amendment to the Pharmaceutical Law. At 14:30, the Sejm will consider the bill on the liquidation of the Nicolaus Copernicus Academy and the Nicolaus Copernicus University. At 16:00, the first reading of further projects from the aforementioned deregulation package will begin - concerning changes to the Tax Ordinance, as well as to the Personal Income Tax Act, the Corporate Income Tax Act, and the Inheritance and Donation Tax Act. It is possible that in the evening, President Andrzej Duda will meet with President-elect Karol Nawrocki.

07:54

Trump on Nawrocki’s Victory:

Congratulations Poland.
- Trump’s ally wins in Poland, shocking everyone in Europe - wrote President Donald Trump on his social media platform Truth Social, citing a headline from News Max. - Congratulations Poland, you backed a winner - stated the US leader.

08:26

Czarnek on the Proposal for a Technical Government:

None of Us Will Be Prime Minister, Only Some Specialist.
- I will not [be the head of the Presidential Chancellery]. When Prime Minister Gliński was a candidate for prime minister and there was to be a constructive vote of no confidence, you will remember that Prime Minister Gliński was not in the Sejm, that's why he was on a tablet, and I am in the Sejm. I will certainly not be on a tablet - stated Przemysław Czarnek on PR3. - This is Prime Minister Kaczyński's proposal, it concerns a technical government, meaning none of us will be prime minister, but some specialist who will lead the government for some time in order to bring the Polish state in order - he continued.

08:30

Czarnek on Confidence Vote for the Government:

I Hear From His Coalition Partners That It’s Not a Good Idea.
- This is Donald Tusk’s idea [a confidence vote for the government]. I hear from his coalition partners that it’s not a good idea, Marshal Szymon Hołownia says this directly. It seems that a large part of PSL also thinks the same, and The Left party (Razem), which voted for this government at the beginning of this Sejm, also expresses its negative opinion. We’ll see what comes of it, since Donald Tusk doesn’t talk to his coalition partners and doesn’t know if he has the support of the majority of the coalition or not, that’s already a big problem for Poland and the normal functioning of the government – stated Przemysław Czarnek in PR3.

08:32

Czarnek:

A Prominent PSL Politician Called Me Yesterday
- Yesterday, a very prominent politician from the PSL, who is both a parliamentarian and a local government official, called me for the second time. He told me that the party is disappearing and that if it doesn't indeed return to its centrist-right, conservative, traditional path, if it disavows [its rural roots] itself, it will truly be difficult. The overwhelming majority of PSL activists and voters, those who have remained with the PSL, voted for Karol Nawrocki - stated Przemysław Czarnek on PR3.

08:34

Czarnek:

What Wipler said is absolutely true
- My interlocutors [from PSL] know full well that what Przemysław Wipler said yesterday on Republika is absolutely true. If the whole world, Europe, including Poland, as the elections have shown, is moving to the right, then the PSL's direction to the left is a direction to nowhere - stated Przemysław Czarnek on PR3.

08:42

Szydło:

Winning a Vote of Confidence Won't Be Easy. Tensions in the Coalition Are Growing.
- It seems to me that it won't be that easy, considering the statements, for example yesterday by one of the coalition partners, Marshal Hołownia. There are increasing tensions within the ruling coalition. It is clearly visible that Trzaskowski's defeat has caused various tensions and situations where coalition partners are beginning to differ more and more among themselves and also to reproach each other for various mistakes - said Beata Szydło in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Radia Zet", when asked if the government winning a vote of confidence would be a formality. - I think that at this moment, if Tusk's government managed to survive, it would be solely because the politicians of the ruling coalition want to hold onto their seats so much, just to survive a little longer - she continued.

08:46

Szydło:

The Continuation of This Government, Even with a Different Prime Minister, Will Be a Road to Nowhere
- In my opinion, nothing can be saved here anymore, because fundamentally the parties forming this governing coalition are simply too lost, and they are not achieving any of their goals - said Beata Szydło on Radio Zet. - At this moment, the continuation of this government, even under a different direction, with a different prime minister, will be a road to nowhere, it will simply be a continuation of the same - she continued.

08:56

Szydło:

Tusk's Announcements of a 'Contingency Plan' Reveal His Intentions. He Wants No Cooperation
- Karol Nawrocki stated very clearly that he would want to cooperate with the government, that is of course the President's responsibility. Moreover, President Andrzej Duda also made the same declaration at the beginning of this current government's work and made many gestures towards Tusk and his team - said Beata Szydło on Radio Zet. - The problem with Tusk is that they are the ones who don't want to cooperate. And I think Donald Tusk's announcements that he has some kind of contingency plan if the President were to refuse to cooperate, meaning assuming from the outset, now, that this cooperation will not happen, shows what Tusk's intentions are. He wants no cooperation whatsoever - she continued.

09:05

Participating in Brawls? Szydło: Nawrocki Isn't Ashamed of His History, He Achieved Everything Himself, He's an Example to Follow
- I do not praise any forms of violence, I really like sports and football too [...] here we are talking, of course, about some hooligan feats, hence perhaps these changes in the law - said Beata Szydło in Radio Zet, responding to a listener's question about why PiS toughened the law regarding participation in brawls, if this is a recently praised initiative. - Each of us has a history and each of us has a past, however, I value and admire in Karol Nawrocki the fact that he is not ashamed of where he comes from, he is not ashamed of his history, he achieved everything himself through hard work and I think that this is truly an example to follow - she continued, when asked about Karol Nawrocki's statements about the "sports formula" and Jarosław Kaczyński's words that he himself participated in various situations in Żoliborz.

09:06

Czarnek on the recording with Kurski:

It was a provocation by Dobrosz-Oracz, known for such situations.
- Ms. Dobrosz-Oracz, by chasing Jacek Kurski through the streets of Warsaw during a beautiful march a week before the elections, received many answers to her questions, only this one, Jacek Kurski's joke, truly insignificant, and President-elect Karol Nawrocki unequivocally dismissed any insinuations that Jacek Kurski would return to TVP – stated Przemysław Czarnek on PR3. - Our President-elect Karol Nawrocki also knew himself that it was a provocation by Ms. Dobrosz-Oracz, who is known for such situations – he continued.

09:07

Czarzasty on Personnel Changes:

There Are No Ideas for Changing the Coalition Agreement in This Regard.
There are no voices, I am saying this very consistently, and by the way, other serious people are saying it, I'm talking about Szymon Hołownia, Władek Kosiniak, and Donald Tusk, there are no ideas in this regard [personnel] for changing the coalition agreement – Włodzimierz Czarzasty said on Polsat News. However, the coalition agreement primarily contains programmatic elements, and here, I agree. Szymon Hołownia is right that many of these matters simply need to be discussed – he continued.

09:07

Lewica Will Not Sit Down for Talks with Kaczyński and Mentzen. Czarzasty on a Technical Government
Lewica will certainly not sit down for any talks with Mr. Kaczyński or Mr. Mentzen, please forget about it. If our coalition partners wanted to do that, they would have to do it without us. We believe we have a different value system and we believe that if such an attempt were to be made, which I doubt, it would certainly be without Lewica – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on Polsat News.

09:08

Czarzasty on a joint start with the Razem party in the elections:

There is no enemy for me on the left.
- At the moment, there are two structures, two forces, anything can happen, for me there is no enemy on the left. Zandberg has the right to represent this government, I have the right with the formation I represent to be in this government, but what will happen in two years, anything can happen – Włodzimierz Czarzasty said on Polsat News.

09:08

Czarzasty on Hołownia's words regarding a vote of confidence for the government:

This is not a theatrical gesture.
- This is not a theatrical gesture, something has happened, however, our candidates did not win these elections. Therefore, it would be good if the MPs clearly and precisely showed that they stand by their formations and that they give a strong mandate, because every government needs a mandate and a renewal of that mandate – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in Polsat News.

09:09

Czarzasty on the Government's Need for Programmatic Changes:

If Things Don't Move Forward Significantly, Every Variant is Possible.
- If all matters don't move forward significantly, if many things don't improve, then every variant is possible. No, I am not assuming a change of prime minister at this moment; I am saying that every variant is possible because what is poor needs to be improved – Włodzimierz Czarzasty said on Polsat News.

09:12

Szydło:

Confederation's Position is Growing Stronger, a Good Prognostic for Post-Election Parliamentary Cooperation
- I believe that all conservative and right-wing parties should cooperate with each other, and it is clearly visible [...] that Confederation's position is growing stronger, which is a good prognostic for cooperation after the next parliamentary elections - stated Beata Szydło on Radio Zet. - Karol Nawrocki's decision to sign the programmatic points presented by Sławomir Mentzen during the election campaign is also a good signal for cooperation - she continued.

09:16

and Leaves Polish Radio Studio:

You Did This for 3 Weeks." Czarnek Speaks of "Sewer Unleashed by Public Media in Liquidation
- He will strive [Karol Nawrocki] for all of you, regardless of your views, because we will not differentiate you based on your views, for these views to be expressed, but views, not hate speech, lies, an unbelievable sewer, which was also unleashed by so-called public media, including Polish Radio in liquidation and TVP in liquidation. You did this for 3 weeks - stated Przemysław Czarnek on PR3. - Fortunately, the majority of Poles recognized that you overheated with this Niagara of lies and sewer, and they chose an excellent winner, as Donald Trump said today. Poland won a winner, and a capital W winner - he continued. After these words, the PiS politician left the Polish Radio studio.

09:22

Czarzasty:

The Worst Scenario for the Coalition Would Be Making Hasty Decisions and Backstabbing Each Other
- I think that in this entire situation, the worst scenario would be making hasty decisions, yanking on the reins, blaming each other, and playing dirty tricks and stabbing each other in the back – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on the program "Graffiti" on Polsat News. - There was a meeting, yesterday we preliminarily analyzed all the results that occurred and talked about the future. The meeting lasted 2 hours. In 2 hours, it is undoubtedly impossible to analyze and do everything – he added.

09:47

Trzaskowski's Campaign Manager Apologizes for the Campaign:

We Had a Great Candidate, an Honest and Good Person, and We Didn't Deliver.
I apologize. We had a great candidate, an honest and good person, and we didn't deliver. Thank you, because we had tremendous support from you. You are a wonderful team. Stick with Rafał Trzaskowski, he did everything he could. I apologize once again – wrote the campaign manager for the Civic Coalition (KO) candidate, Wioletta Paprocka, on social media.

09:49

Schetyna:

There Is No Alternative to the Democratic Coalition in This Parliament
- This government must begin or move to an offensive, to effectiveness, show that there is no alternative in this parliament - said Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's program "Sedno Sprawy" (The Essence of the Matter). - No, this government today must begin a new stage, we have two years, 2.5 years until the parliamentary elections, and we must show that this government has no alternative, we are moving through good governance and good leadership, effectiveness, and solving the problems of Poles, delivering results [...] we must be ready for the 2027 election campaign - he continued, when asked if this government doesn't know how to govern. - It will not be easy, because we realize that the president will be from a different political camp, but we must show our effectiveness, will, determination, and I am convinced that we will be ready for this, this is the inventiveness and intention of the government and this coalition, there is no alternative in this parliament for this coalition, for the democratic coalition - he added.

09:50

Head of the Presidential Chancellery Sets Time for Duda-Nawrocki Meeting
– Today the President and his wife are returning [from Lithuania] in the evening and there will be a meeting. I think it will be around 8 PM, 8:30 PM,– stated Małgorzata Paprocka on RMF FM.

09:56

Schetyna:

Nothing is decided; it's not as if we lost the parliamentary elections and must hand over power
- It wasn't Donald Tusk who ran in these elections - said Grzegorz Schetyna on Radio Plus, when asked if it was time to sideline Donald Tusk, just as PiS sidelined Jarosław Kaczyński.

- Let's leave that to the analysts, the experts; we will analyze every day of the campaign and the election results, we will draw conclusions from it - he continued, when pressed about Donald Tusk's increased activity towards the end of the campaign.

- Nothing is decided; it's not as if we lost the parliamentary elections and must hand over power. Power is in our hands, in the hands of this coalition, and we simply must be ready to fulfill our election promises, we must show Poles that there is no alternative to the good governance of this coalition - he went on to say.

- Apparently, we did not convince Poles in the way we wanted to - he added, when asked if the coalition hadn't wanted to govern effectively until now and would want to now.

10:12

Chants at the Start of the Sejm Session:

Karol Nawrocki President of Poland.
- Karol Nawrocki President of Poland – such chants from Law and Justice (PiS) MPs could be heard during the Sejm session that has just begun. - Great, I invite you for August 6th, it will happen – replied Marshal Szymon Hołownia.

10:17

Mentzen on a Technical Government:

If Kaczyński Knows More Than Me and There's Something to Discuss, I Invite Him for a Meeting.
"Jarosław Kaczyński's proposal, concerning a technical government and the end of Tusk's rule, at first glance seems to have no chance of a majority in the Sejm. However, if Kaczyński knows more than me and there's something to discuss, I invite him for a meeting. Let's discuss it" - Sławomir Mentzen wrote on X.

10:23

Zandberg:

If This Sejm Doesn't Start Solving Ordinary People's Problems, Mentzen Will Be Prime Minister in Two Years in a Confederation-PiS Coalition
- I hear you want to play around with a vote of confidence now. Meaning, instead of getting to work, Prime Minister Tusk will now discipline his satellites, and I have a question: have you truly understood nothing? - Adrian Zandberg stated during a Sejm session. - Unfortunately, the curtain fell on June 1st. Trzaskowski's defeat was not an accident at work, but a result. This is how breaking a promise made to millions of people ends, and this is unfortunately your work, Mr. Prime Minister. I have a question: where is the law on assistance for people with disabilities, where is the housing law, why are you doing nothing about the growing hole in healthcare? - he continued. - We could have voted on this a week and a half ago, I proposed convening a Sejm session, but you didn't even want to work. You didn't even want to convene this Sejm session. If this Sejm doesn't start solving ordinary people's problems, then in two years, Mentzen will be the Prime Minister of Poland in a Confederation-PiS coalition, and this will be solely your political responsibility - he went on to say.

10:24

Kanthak on Increasing the Tax-Free Allowance:

Let Me Check the Time.
- Do you remember counting down the days until the end of President Andrzej Duda's term? Every day you posted graphics, 60 days left, 59. My dear friends, you need to add 1829 days, but I would like to tell you about your counter. This government, Donald Tusk's government, has been in power for over 530 days. You promised that within 100 days, you would deliver 100 specific actions. One of them is a tax-free allowance of PLN 60,000. This is the moment I check for you. We submitted this project because, as is well known, you are not eager to work, so we are doing it for you - stated Jan Kanthak in the Sejm.

10:48

Kaczyński:

If the elections were fair, one could say it was a small advantage. But because they were radically unfair, it's a very large advantage.
- A vote of confidence is an attempt to maintain one's position after losing elections, and if those elections had been fair, one could say it was a small advantage. But because they were radically unfair, essentially conducted in a scandalous manner from a democratic perspective, one can say it's a very large advantage on our side, given that with such a media and financial advantage, and the methods they used, we still won - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

10:59

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Vote of Confidence for the Government:

It's Worth Showing Not Just the Majority, but the Majority's Plan for Poles.
First, the motion must be submitted, so probably either at this or the next session. It is worth showing not just the majority today, because it exists, but the majority's plan for Poles, that is the most important thing in my opinion – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists. I believe that the government's effectiveness and demonstrating its effectiveness is necessary – he added.

10:59

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Coalition:

This Cooperation is Necessary and Absolute for the Good of All Citizens.
We are in a situation where the responsibility of all of us, the responsibility of politicians, is to unite and seek what is possible for cooperation. We are open, especially in the area of security. I believe that this cooperation is necessary and absolute for the good of all citizens, and I declare this – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists.

10:59

Kosiniak-Kamysz Demands the Passage of the Tax-Free Allowance:

Lessons Must Be Learned and Ambitious Proposals Made.
- This is also a moment when lessons must definitely be learned, a strategy must be built, and ambitious proposals must be made to Poles; they are greatly anticipating this. This includes, for example, the commitment regarding the tax-free allowance, which was made before the elections, and we are counting on its fulfillment. I am a strong proponent of this – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists.

11:00

Kosiniak-Kamysz Appeals to Coalition Partners:

It's Not About Vying Against Each Other Now.
- This is a moment where I am giving this opportunity. We will certainly want to take advantage of this opportunity to reach voters in a different, better way, but also to fulfill the expectations and ambitions of the younger generation. Therefore, I would appeal to all those who form the coalition today, that we do not publicly point fingers at each other about who did what, because everyone here can demonstrate their strengths, but it's not about vying against each other now – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists.

11:32

Bochenek on PiS Initiative: "We Appreciate Mentzen's Interest, Await Other Proposals." Mentzen: "As I Thought, You Don't Seek to Actually Oust the Government."
"We appreciate Mr. Sławomir Mentzen's interest in the Law and Justice initiative, although his club's support is still insufficient due to parliamentary arithmetic. We await proposals from other political circles as well. Only a technical government can restore order and law in our Homeland. An apolitical, expert government is a return to normality in Poland" - wrote Rafał Bochenek on X. "As I thought, or rather, as I was sure. You're not interested in actually ousting Tusk's government, but in a purely media-driven proposal, simple spin, and occupying media attention for months, as was the case with Prof. Gliński. A mere smokescreen. You don't have a majority, you don't have a candidate, you don't have specifics. Just empty talk for the naive" - wrote Sławomir Mentzen.

11:33

Date of Confidence Vote Known. Hołownia Announces Additional Sejm Session
Yesterday, information emerged that the Prime Minister intends to submit a motion of confidence in his government. It was reported that this was to happen quickly. I convinced the Prime Minister that we should wait a moment for this, until we are able to not only demonstrate that we have a majority in the Sejm, which we already do, but are also able to show a new quality in what we truly want to do in Poland today – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

Therefore, I proposed to the Prime Minister that we consider his motion of confidence during an additional Sejm session, which I will convene for next Tuesday, June 10th. That entire day will be dedicated, perhaps not exclusively, but it is a significant undertaking – he continued.

11:35

A Strong Alliance with the USA, as well as a Partnership Based on Close Cooperation, are My Priorities." Nawrocki Thanks Trump
- Thank you, Mr. President. A strong alliance with the USA, as well as a partnership based on close cooperation, are my top priorities – wrote President-elect Karol Nawrocki on social media.

11:40

‘The End of Fighting Democracy and the End of Politicians Leading It.’ Kaczyński on Expectations for Nawrocki
- [These are my expectations] that he will be a very good president and will do everything to restore the rule of law and normality in Poland. The end of fighting democracy and the end of politicians who lead it – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

12:10

Tusk:

We'll Have a New President, But the Constitution Hasn't Changed, Our Commitment Hasn't Changed, and Citizens' Expectations Haven't Changed
We are commencing our session in a new political reality. We have all experienced the recent months, the weeks of the election campaign, very intensely. I would like all ladies and gentlemen ministers, without exception, to treat this new situation with seriousness, but by seriousness I mean even more work - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting. The political reality is new because we will have a new president, but the Constitution in Poland has not changed, our commitment has not changed, and the expectations of citizens have not changed. In Poland, the government rules, which is a great responsibility, a great honor, and even if we feel that it might be harder than some of us thought it would be, you are here for difficult things, not for easy ones - the Prime Minister continued.

12:12

Tusk Sets New Date for Confidence Vote on Government
- I raised the issue of a vote of confidence in the government with the leaders of the October 15 coalition during our meeting yesterday. Marshal Hołownia proposed that the vote, this item, take place on Wednesday, June 11, which is next week. Initially, it was stated that it would be Tuesday, but it turns out the Sejm chamber is occupied on Tuesday - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting.

12:13

Tusk:

Vote of Confidence Should Be a New Beginning
- This vote of confidence should be a new beginning, meaning offensive, not defensive – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the government session. - For the entire coalition, October 15th should be a day of such new momentum, and I am convinced that you will rise to this task – he continued.

12:16

Tusk Announces Periodic Assessment of Government's Work:

The Consequence of This Will Be Changes We've Spoken About.
The consequence of the vote of confidence will, of course, also be such a periodic assessment of the work of the government and individual ministries, but July will be dedicated to this, both to preparations for the entire coming year, the budget issue, etc., but also to assessing what has been achieved and what has not been achieved - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting. The consequence of this will be changes we have spoken about. But as the classics say: the good have nothing to fear - he continued.

12:18

Hołownia on the Possibility of Choosing a Different Prime Minister Within the Coalition in the Future:

I Don't Rule Out Such an Option.
- Donald Tusk was designated by us as Prime Minister, and at this moment there is no discussion about changing the Prime Minister designated by this coalition. If you ask me whether there is a possibility in the future that someone else will be Prime Minister within this coalition, I do not rule out such an option – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

12:18

Hołownia on Kaczyński's Technical Government Proposal:

Trying to Seize the Initiative from the Confederation.
- Prime Minister Kaczyński is trying at this moment to seize the initiative from the Confederation; in my opinion, that is the entire background of this idea. He wants to show that it's not Mentzen who calls the shots, but Kaczyński, and that is the signal he wanted to send with this gesture – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

12:26

Hołownia on the future of the Third Way:

We will talk with the Polish People's Party whether to continue this project.
- Regarding the Polish People's Party (PSL), we clearly agreed that we will make a decision on this matter once we assess the electoral process, these recent elections we had agreed upon, which we have just completed, so certainly in the coming weeks we will talk with our friends from the PSL whether to continue this project [the Third Way], and in what format to continue it – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

12:27

Hołownia:

We Need a Programmatic Reset for the Coalition as Soon as Possible
- I am a strong proponent of this, and I also spoke about it yesterday with the Prime Minister and other coalition leaders, that we absolutely must, as soon as possible, undertake a programmatic reset, a new programmatic opening for our coalition's actions – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

- In a very specific way, my group is saying what is close to our hearts and what, in our opinion, Polska 2050, should deliver as soon as possible. We spoke about this in the resolution of our national council before supporting Rafał Trzaskowski, namely the anti-cuvette law – one that finally resolves the situation in State Treasury companies, then the media law, which makes public television and public media truly public, not government-controlled. Personal assistance, unlocking funds for housing, and finally investments for local Poland – he continued.

13:11

Zandberg:

If Civic Platform's sole purpose was to stop PiS and Konfederacja, that purpose has now expired
"When you deceive people, you pay the price. On June 1st, the most popular candidate Civic Platform could have fielded lost to the worst, weakest candidate PiS could have put forward. The fact that Trzaskowski lost to Nawrocki is not an accident, it's a consequence. A consequence of the Platforma and its affiliates' government disappointing millions of people after 1.5 years. They deceived them, they broke their word" - said Adrian Zandberg in a recording published on X. "For years, Civic Platform claimed to be a dam. A dam that would stop the rule of PiS and Konfederacja. It's clear they are no dam at all, because if Trzaskowski lost to Nawrocki, he would have lost to any other candidate. If the sole purpose of Civic Platform's existence was to prevent PiS and Konfederacja from coming to power, then that purpose has now expired" - he continued. "Today, Donald Tusk is the guarantee that in two years, Prime Minister Mentzen will be governing us. That government won't stop them anymore, but we can stop them. Everything depends on us" - he went on to say.

13:15

Duda:

I will invite the President-elect to more meetings if he wishes to share my experiences
President-elect Karol Nawrocki is one day after the official election results were announced. I am pleased that we can meet this evening, as soon as I return to Warsaw, and that he is ready for this meeting – stated President Andrzej Duda in Lithuania. Of course, we will have our first meeting today, and I hope to invite the President-elect to more meetings. If he is ready, wants to talk to me, and wants me to share my experiences, especially in the area of security policy and international policy – he continued. Please remember that from, I assume, August 6th, he will be the president, and he will lead everywhere, both internally and externally, according to his own point of view and his political wisdom – he emphasized.

13:16

Duda on the Technical Government Proposal:

For a New Government to Emerge, the Current One Must First Fall.
I am drawing attention to the circumstances: for any new government to emerge, the current one must first fall. In this regard, I, as the President of the Republic, will calmly observe this situation – said President Andrzej Duda in Lithuania.

13:46

Hołownia on the vote of confidence and a new beginning for the coalition:

I'm glad we managed to convince Prime Minister Tusk.
"I am glad that we managed to convince Prime Minister Donald Tusk to hold the vote of confidence for the government (which has a majority in the Sejm) in a week and to combine it with a new beginning for the coalition. Our 2023 promises must be delivered. Faster than until now" - wrote Szymon Hołownia on X.

13:56

Nawrocki Emphasizes National Sovereignty and Christian Values in Response to von der Leyen
Ursula von der Leyen congratulated Karol Nawrocki on his presidential election victory and expressed her conviction that the European Union would continue its very good cooperation with Poland. The President-elect thanked the head of the European Commission and addressed her in a post on X. "I am also looking forward to good cooperation for the success of our Union – a community of independent, sovereign states. Our European legacy must always be based on mutual trust, respect for national sovereignty, and Christian values," wrote Karol Nawrocki.

15:14

Nawrocki Responds to Zelenskyy:

Continuation of Partnership" and "Resolution of Overdue Historical Issues.
- Dear President, thank you for your message. I am eagerly awaiting the continuation of our countries' partnership, based on mutual respect and understanding. I believe it requires not only good communication but also the resolution of overdue historical issues – wrote Karol Nawrocki on the X portal, responding to a post by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. - Poland was and remains Ukraine's strongest ally in the face of Russian aggression – no other nation understands this threat as well as we do. I hope that we will continue to act together for the common good, for the settlement of the unsettled past, and for the building of a secure future – indicated the president-elect.

16:06

Nawrocki to Receive Key Document During Ceremony at the Royal Castle. Kalisz Reveals Details
- Mr. Karol Nawrocki will officially receive, in a solemn ceremony, the National Electoral Commission's resolution on his election to the office of the President of the Republic of Poland on June 11, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, in the Grand Hall, often also called the Ball Room, in the presence of both the highest representatives of the Polish state and members of the National Electoral Commission - said Ryszard Kalisz in an interview with Polsat News. He explained: - Traditionally, this has varied, but keeping in mind that the Royal Castle is the place of the most important normative acts of the Republic of Poland – I will remind you that the Constitution of May 3rd was enacted at the Royal Castle – it seemed to everyone that this is the most appropriate place. [...] The President of the Republic is the embodiment of the Republic, as the common good of all citizens. The Royal Castle, the Grand Hall, has great symbolic power here. - Other counter-candidates, especially Rafał Trzaskowski, will be invited. And who attends – that is, of course, the will of the invited person. [...] For this ceremony, the presence of Karol Nawrocki and, of course, the members of the National Electoral Commission is essential - indicated the member of the National Electoral Commission.

Kalisz:

Given Previous KO Statements, the Chamber's Resolution on Election Validity May Be Challenged
- To avoid any doubts, the responsibility lies with the First President of the Supreme Court, Professor Małgorzata Manowska. If she insists on her position and the resolution on the validity of the elections is made by the Chamber of Extraordinary Review and Public Affairs, then inevitably – considering the composition of the second round of elections, both the losing committee and the party that supported and continues to support Rafał Trzaskowski's candidate – I cannot say for sure today, but knowing the earlier statements of the party's representatives, such a resolution may be challenged – said Ryszard Kalisz in an interview with Polsat News. - Of course, there will be a discussion whether such a resolution by this non-existent chamber will be constitutive, declaratory, or if there is a presumption of validity, etc. It may lead to many discussions, which will naturally also resonate within the EU. Because I recall that the CJEU stated in its rulings that this chamber is incompatible with the law – he continued. As he pointed out: - Professor Manowska, I appeal to her, holds the decision in her hands. If she wants the entire process concerning President-elect Karol Nawrocki to proceed smoothly, in accordance with the law and the Polish constitution, then she must make the right decisions so that the election validity is adjudicated by a chamber, and only by a chamber composed of judges appointed in accordance with the constitution.

Mucha's scathing post about Civic Platform:

So convinced of their own self-awesomeness that strategic analyses are unnecessary.
Today's political commentary sounds like business as usual. So, I'll paddle a bit against the current. The presidential elections are a chronicle of a foretold defeat. What else would the PiS candidate have to be for the Platform's candidate to win??? - Joanna Mucha wrote on Facebook. PiS conducted a strategic analysis of the desired candidate's traits. He was to be someone who could not be linked to the PiS government and someone for whom Mentzen's voters would vote in the second round - she emphasized. Platform doesn't conduct strategic analyses. They are so convinced of their own self-awesomeness that strategic analyses are unnecessary. Platform believes it is "better" and therefore there is a moral obligation to vote for Platform candidates. They believe that "victory simply belongs to them" - this is a quote from an anonymous campaign representative. Almost all media support them in this belief - she added.

Sawicki Proposes a Constructive Vote of No Confidence for the Government:

It's High Time to Try a Different Prime Minister.
- Yesterday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk delivered a three-minute address and in that address, he conducted a self-assessment, stating that the government will now get to work. Therefore, he himself admitted that until now, they hadn't been working too hard, so it's high time to try a different prime minister. This isn't a question of a vote of confidence, but rather a constructive vote of no confidence, and politicians should discuss this within the 15th October coalition until Tuesday – stated Marek Sawicki in an interview with journalists.

Kamiński:

Nothing has happened to make the coalition cease to function. But everything has happened to remove Tusk from its leadership.
Nothing has happened to make this coalition cease to function. But everything has happened to remove Donald Tusk from its leadership. That's how it is. Nothing has happened to call into question the existence of this coalition, but, if not everything, then a great deal has happened to ensure Donald Tusk is no longer Prime Minister – stated Michał Kamiński on Polsat News.

19:02

Kamiński:

Bielan Won the Campaign
I have a personal stake in this election campaign because my opponent, Adam Bielan, won it. Of course, it was his idea and he orchestrated it - stated Michał Kamiński in Polsat News.

19:03

Kamiński:

Who Will Believe That a Man Who Called Nawrocki a Pimp and Trump a KGB Agent Can Conduct Effective Polish Policy?
- Who will believe you today, who will believe that a man who didn't believe Nawrocki would win the presidency and called him a pimp, who didn't believe Trump would win and called him a KGB agent, is capable of conducting effective Polish policy? - stated Michał Kamiński on Polsat News.

19:03

Kamiński:

Do I Trust Someone Who Entrusted My Coalition's Fate to People I Saw Jumping at Their Own Funeral on Election Night?
Do I trust someone who slandered the American president and is unable to apologize for it? My answer is no. Do I trust someone who entrusted my coalition's fate and all the values dear to me to people whom I saw, on Sunday evening on election night, jumping at their own funeral? - stated Michał Kamiński on Polsat News. Do I trust a man who entrusted the election campaign to people who talked about some 'swinging districts', proving they have no clue what an election campaign for president in Poland is about? Or perhaps they are showing they once watched 'House of Cards' with Polish subtitles - he continued.

19:13

Kamiński:

Tusk Will Likely Present Another Plan That Will Fail, Just Like All His Plans
- Donald Tusk will likely present another plan, I don't know what it will be, that will fail again, just like all his plans so far - stated Michał Kamiński in Polsat News.

Kamiński:

How do PO's sponsors feel – the serious, powerful business sector?
- How do those sponsors of PO feel, the people, the serious, powerful Polish business sector, who gave them money because they counted on Donald, the experts, that they would defend them, and these people watched the election night on Sunday, where they saw guys who spent a lot of money on the election campaign jumping at their own funeral? - stated Michał Kamiński on Polsat News.

19:23

Kamiński:

Tusk Will See a Pimp Meeting an Agent of the KGB. I Don't Want Such a Prime Minister
- If someone watches a meeting between Donald Trump and President Nawrocki, then you and I will see a meeting between the Polish and American presidents, and Donald Tusk will see a meeting between a pimp and an agent of the KGB. I don't want such a Prime Minister - stated Michał Kamiński on Polsat News.

Szefernaker on Today’s Duda-Nawrocki Meeting:

I Will Accompany the President-Elect.
- He [Karol Nawrocki] is preparing for a meeting with President Andrzej Duda. [...] Directly after the interview on Polsat, I will go to this meeting; I will accompany the president-elect - Paweł Szefernaker said in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News’ “Gość Wydarzeń” (Guest of Events). He stated: - There are many topics that need to be discussed, concerning both matters related to the continuation of the office and how to carry it all out. [...] I am glad that this office will be transferred to President Karol Nawrocki in such a good atmosphere.

19:47

Szefernaker on SOP Protection for Nawrocki:

Procedure Has Begun.
- The procedure has begun. The Minister of the Interior and Administration has made appropriate decisions, and the procedure related first to broader protection, and then to personal protection [for Karol Nawrocki from the Government Protection Bureau], has been initiated - said Paweł Szefernaker in „Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.

19:57

Nawrocki Refused to Hire Kuchciński in His Chancellery? Szefernaker Comments
- A lot of different information is appearing. This is a time when there is a lot of information, including untrue information. I recommend waiting for the information that the president-elect will provide - said Paweł Szefernaker in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News, when asked about the reports from "Newsweek" that Karol Nawrocki allegedly refused the PiS leader's request to hire Marek Kuchciński at the Presidential Palace. - I think he will actively prepare his chancellery, and he will also inform the public. And this information from the president-elect will be the true information - he continued. When pressed about Kuchciński, he replied: - I don't know anything about that.

20:06

Szefernaker:

Nawrocki Has Already Spoken with the NATO Secretary General
- He spoke with several presidents [Karol Nawrocki], also with the head of NATO. So the last 48 hours have already brought the first actions - said Paweł Szefernaker in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:18

Szefernaker on Ruling Coalition Politicians:

They Can't Recover from Post-Election Trauma.
- I hope that such cooperation from the government, whatever it may be, with President Nawrocki will occur. What is happening at the moment among coalition politicians, saying that they will manage without the president, is unacceptable. They really can't recover from this post-election trauma yet - said Paweł Szefernaker in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:22

Zgorzelski on the Vote of Confidence for the Government:

At This Moment, Tusk Has the Initiative.
I am certain, there is absolutely no doubt about it, some people are losing their nerves, I think that nerves are not good advisors in such a situation. In politics, what is called initiative is essential, and at this moment Prime Minister Tusk has the initiative, it is an obvious initiative, an honest look in the mirror – stated Piotr Zgorzelski in the program "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

20:23

Will the Government Sign a New Coalition Agreement? Zgorzelski: Yes, We Must Redefine Our Goals
- First and foremost, we must redefine the goals of our coalition, write a new coalition agreement, and that is what Marshal Hołownia appealed for, so that this honest self-assessment is accompanied by reflection – said Piotr Zgorzelski on TVN24. - A new communication strategy. Let's admit frankly that the Prime Minister communicated with society using a method adopted by many politicians, via platform X. We prefer that the government, which we also created and continue to create, has a press spokesperson – he continued.

20:23

Zgorzelski Slams Tusk:

He Needed 17 Minutes to Shut Down That Project.
We submitted a single candidate project so that we wouldn't tread on each other's toes in the first round. We declared our readiness for talks, and it took Prime Minister Tusk 17 minutes to shut down that project [of a common coalition candidate in the presidential election] on platform X – said Piotr Zgorzelski on TVN24.

20:23

Zgorzelski on Petru's Words Regarding TD:

He Already Closed One Political Project, He Didn't Open It, He Won't Close It.
Ryszard Petru has already successfully closed one project called Nowoczesna. Ryszard Petru is not in the leadership of TD, he did not open this project, and he will not close it. The presidential elections do not relate to the political geography in the Sejm; the presidential elections did not change the political arrangement in the Sejm – stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TVN24. – TD will be continued. The leaders will decide this, not individual MPs – he added.

20:31

Szefernaker on Trzaskowski’s Campaign Team:

Great Arrogance and Lack of Humility. This is the DNA of this Political Group.
- I have had many opportunities during this campaign to get to know the people on the other side, through debates or various events where it was possible to observe how it looked. The politicians who ran Rafał Trzaskowski’s campaign repeatedly displayed great arrogance and a lack of humility – said Paweł Szefernaker in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News. - I think this is the DNA of this political group, and they paid the highest price for it in these elections, which is that they simply lost – he assessed.

20:38

Szefernaker:

Poles Have Shown There Is No Consent for a Campaign of Lies. They Chose Our Positive Campaign
- I would like to point out that we focused on a positive campaign. We truly conducted a positive campaign, for which Poles ultimately voted. On the other hand, there was a permanent attack, starting in December, related to a libelous attack on Karol Nawrocki, which was supposed to suggest that he had some bad relationships or acquaintances with bad people - said Paweł Szefernaker in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - Later, there were further stories about apartments, housing, other issues. [...] Lies, lies, and more lies – that was the worst aspect of this campaign. And Poles have shown that there is no consent for such a campaign. They chose the positive campaign, meaning the one that we conducted - he stated.

20:52

Szefernaker:

Prominent Politicians in the Current Coalition Congratulated Me on Election Results. Now They Have a Chance to Break Away from Tusk, or Continue Towards the Wall with Him
- If, right from the very beginning, they are already saying there will be problems in relations with the president, whom Poles have just largely elected, then we propose such a solution, that at least until the parliamentary elections there should be a non-partisan government, thanks to which individuals who are currently in the coalition, and who undoubtedly see how poorly this coalition is governing, would have a chance to unite and cooperate above party lines for the good… - said Paweł Szefernaker on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events). - I wanted to thank many politicians from the current coalition who, over the last 48 hours, have congratulated me regarding the election results. […] This group also included prominent politicians from the current coalition. They have a chance to break away from Donald Tusk, or continue towards the wall with him - he stated.

White House Spokesperson: President Trump is Pleased with Nawrocki's Victory
- The President [Donald Trump] is clearly pleased with the election results in Poland. He met with Karol Nawrocki – I hope I'm pronouncing that correctly – at the White House and told him, 'you're going to win,' because he stands for common sense, he stood for strong borders in Poland, he stood for ending the DEI radical woke policies that we have seen not just here in the United States, but that are really taking over Europe and the entire world – Karoline Leavitt said at a press conference, responding to a question from Marek Wałkuski of Polish Radio. - I've read reports of what Poles think about this man – they felt that he put Poland's needs first. That's a very refreshing feeling that we know very well here in the United States – stated the White House Press Secretary. She added: - The United States and Poland have always had a very deep and strong relationship, a friendship. They are a great ally. I know the President looks forward to working with him.
