The presidential campaign in the Wielkopolska region will be continued on Friday by the Mayor of Warsaw and Civic Coalition candidate for president, Rafał Trzaskowski. An open meeting with his participation will be held at 10:30 AM in Słupca. Subsequently, at 1:00 PM, he will meet with the residents of Gniezno, and at 5:30 PM, a rally will take place in Kościan.

The campaign in the Małopolska voivodeship will be led by the Law and Justice candidate for president, Karol Nawrocki. At 10:00 AM, he will meet with farmers in Nowe Brzesko. Meanwhile, a press conference is scheduled for 1:30 PM at the hospital in Brzesko. At 5:00 PM, he will meet with the residents of Tarnów, and at 7:30 PM, a meeting with the Rural Women's Circle is planned at the Dom Malarek in Zalipie.

On Friday, Confederation candidate for President of Poland, Sławomir Mentzen, will visit the Lower Silesian voivodeship. He will meet with residents of Nysa at 3:30 PM. Further meetings are scheduled for 5:00 PM in Strzelin, at 6:30 PM in Brzeg, and the final meeting is planned for 7:30 PM in Oława.

The Speaker of the Sejm and Third Way candidate for president, Szymon Hołownia, will visit the Warmia-Masuria voivodeship. A press briefing is scheduled for 1:45 PM in Wielbark, followed by a meeting with the residents of Szczytno at 4:00 PM. To conclude the day, he will meet with the residents of Olsztyn at 6:30 PM.

Friday marks the final day of the Presidential Couple's visit to Italy. At 10:00 AM, President Duda will meet with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, and then, at 1:00 PM, with the President of Italy. The next item on the agenda is a meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy – at 3:30 PM, followed by a plenary delegation meeting – at 3:55 PM.

– Poles would not be happy with this change. Paid studies would be a big mistake. It would be even harder for young people to gain education and success. One only needs to look at countries where higher education is paid. To get into a good school, besides knowledge and the will to learn, you also need to come from a wealthy family. This is not a good model for Poland – says Karol Nawrocki in a clip published on social media.

– The President of the Republic of Poland should do everything in his power to reduce social inequalities, not deepen them. Therefore, by voting for me, you have a guarantee that studies at state universities will remain free, and young people will not enter adult life with large student loans – he added.

– We are currently in a presidential campaign, and the issue of security is one of the main topics. There is an evident attempt by the Prime Minister and his associates to erase, for the benefit of Mr. Rafał Trzaskowski, the impression left by the actions taken when this migration pressure began. Calling the aggressive individuals who were throwing stones and branches at Polish officers “poor people”, proposing to let them into Poland without checks, all these spectacles we have observed, hindering work – Małgorzata Paprocka said on “Sygnały dnia” PR1.

– Now that the citizens’ expectations are known, this letter [from the President to the Prime Minister] is a very simple “checkmate” – whether these are just declarations for the campaign, Twitter declarations, as the Prime Minister has decided to communicate with society – she continued.

– And the response to this is the Prime Minister’s laconic, somewhat hateful statement that the President has only so many days left in his term. But these are not just the President’s questions. These are the questions of citizens who want to live in a safe country, who want to know what will happen to the migrants, whether we are accepting migrants being redirected from Germany, whether integration centers are being built, how many are being built, what are the costs – she emphasized.

– It's a shame the Prime Minister doesn't want to comment on [the President's letter], because these are very simple questions: what is the Prime Minister doing in Brussels to ensure Poland's security, beyond saying he wouldn't be outmaneuvered? I know the [migration] pact will be implemented next year. I understand that the Prime Minister wants to reach the presidential elections, hoping that Rafał Trzaskowski will win, and then no one will ask such questions anymore, no one will stand up for the citizens' security, but there will be one beautiful, Twitter-media narrative about how wonderful everything is, while a completely different policy will be conducted quietly – Małgorzata Paprocka said on PR1's "Sygnały dnia."

– After these statements by some members of Donald Trump's administration, one might indeed get the impression that the United States will be reducing its presence in Europe. Fortunately, no one on the other side of the Atlantic is contemplating ending a project like NATO – stated Borys Budka on Radio Zet.

– Europe must also be able to count on itself, and European politicians are talking about this, and we are talking about it by building very close cooperation between the most important, largest countries of the European Union. Here, coffee does not exclude tea; a strong European Union certainly does not exclude a strong NATO – he continued.

– These words only emphasize how important it is today for Poland to be governed by individuals who understand what European cooperation entails. I believe these words should primarily be taken to heart by all those, I mean PiS and Confederation politicians, who question the very sense of European cooperation – Borys Budka said on Radio Zet.

– They should take to heart what has been said by the new head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), appointed by President Andrzej Duda – he added.

– This is nonsense, firstly, these are such idiotic arguments that they only show the intellectual capacity of the other side of the political scene – stated Borys Budka on Radio Zet.

– Today, when I see the statements of Mr. Błaszczak, who was the Minister of National Defence for a time, and the nonsense he speaks, the fake news he spreads, I wonder if they have been directly connected to Russia Today. Directly to Kremlin propaganda, or if they draw these stupidities from their own depths of remaining intellect, or if it's directly fed from Moscow – he continued.

– I think [Mentzen's support is growing] because Easter is approaching, and Poles like their Easter eggs, but in all seriousness, you just need to listen to what Mr. Mentzen is saying, and it's not so beautiful anymore. He recently became known for his words that he would like studies in Poland to be [expensive/exclusive]. Therefore, I have a big appeal to students, to young people, who today seem to believe Mr. Mentzen – stated Borys Budka on Radio Zet.

– Listen carefully, dear ones, to what he proposes. Studies for the rich, meager pensions, elimination of aid for those most in need, I'm thinking here about the 800+ [child benefit program], and above all, healthcare in such a way that you treat yourself with quacks – he added.

– Today, talking about conscription is in fact another blow to what is very important, namely social unity. There is strong support for voluntary training. I am a proponent of always encouraging, not forcing anyone, and with a good system, which Prime Minister Tusk and Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz have spoken about, we are able to achieve sufficient results – said Borys Budka on Radio Zet.

– I don't know, will he want [the debate] at the gym, with his Gdańsk underworld colleagues standing behind him? Let's be serious. Mr. Nawrocki has the biggest problem with himself, Mr. Nawrocki has a problem with his past, with lies, with how he deceived people, for instance with that famous book of his. He should primarily allow himself to be questioned about his contacts with circles that are not the most pleasant – Borys Budka said on Radio Zet.

– This is a very clever move by Mentzen and Nawrocki, because they are both fighting for survival to make it to the second round, and today, appearing with Rafał Trzaskowski simply boosts one of them. So let’s not be fooled into thinking they want to say anything or have anything to say. They actually have a big problem because neither one nor the other can be certain of reaching the second round, hence these sudden proposals – stated Borys Budka on Radio Zet.

– I don't expect a substantive response from the Prime Minister to this [the President's letter] because the truth would likely have to be told. For example, that accepting millions of Ukrainians has no impact on the implementation of the migration pact, as such a clear signal is already coming from the European Commission – Małgorzata Paprocka stated on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

This refers to the letter that President Andrzej Duda sent to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, in which he posed four questions concerning migration policy.

"We're Giving it a Little More Time"
– The President wants to be with those citizens who are affected, who live near the [...] western and eastern borders. We are giving it a little more time so that the Prime Minister perhaps still reflects on his responsibility towards society – she added.

– The President simply wants to clearly declare his concern for Poland's security and the situation of Polish citizens. There are, of course, tools to discuss such matters, constitutional powers that the President has, such as the National Security Council – she pointed out.

National Security Council or Cabinet Council? "I Don't Rule It Out"
When asked if the President would convene the National Security Council or a Cabinet Council, she replied: – I don't rule out that such a situation might occur. The President sent this letter and signed the [asylum] act literally moments before meeting the NATO Secretary General and departing for Italy […]. A decision will likely be made upon his return.

– The [asylum] law raised discussion in this sense because it touched upon constitutional matters, regulated by international agreements. This, of course, concerns the issue of the right to asylum. However, a significant part of this law was reworked in parliament, and the exceptions that exist, meaning the possibility for pregnant women, children, and individuals in difficult situations to always apply for asylum – all of this was considered by the President, and he ultimately decided to sign this law – Małgorzata Paprocka said in "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

– Subsequent control was not considered. To be completely honest, I would expect such a motion rather from the Commissioner for Human Rights, who has taken a very clear stance here. But after careful analysis, and also after reviewing international rulings and thoroughly examining the doctrine, we do not share the Commissioner for Human Rights' position in this regard – she emphasized.

– I very often talk to young people, some of them want to vote for me, some of them want to vote for Mentzen. When I talk to them, they often mention one thing they like, but at the end, when I ask them about other issues, they don't know that Mentzen holds these kinds of views – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting with residents in Słupca.

– For example, the first point of his new “fifth point” agenda is to abolish free university education. […] There are many girls, many women among us; you have heard what this man says about the issue of abortion. He says women will have to give birth to children even from rape, and he even describes rape as an “inconvenience.” Frankly, it makes your stomach turn when you hear such statements – he continued.

– What about Nawrocki, listen, they have simply made an agreement, they will not attack each other, they dream of forming a government together, and Nawrocki hasn't even uttered a word about liquidating the 800+ benefit, about liquidating the 13th and 14th pension – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting with residents in Słupca.

– They accused us of this, we maintained it and 500+ became 800+, constant criticism, constant accusations that we would liquidate these programs, and if they want to strike a deal with Confederation and later destroy Poland hand in hand, then nobody on that side has the courage to question this type of idea – he continued.

– Article 5 [of the North Atlantic Treaty] must not be undermined in any way today. I was very surprised when my opponent, Karol Nawrocki, when asked about Article 5, specifically whether Poland would send troops if another NATO country were attacked, said he needed to think about it. I would rather he didn't think at all, because it is truly dangerous – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a meeting with residents in Słupca.

– I don't even assume it's ill will, I simply assume that my opponent has no idea what he is talking about, but that is also dangerous, so one must be aware of this. Article 5 is inviolable […] I spoke with the Secretary General of NATO two days ago and he is in constant communication with the Americans. The Americans are clear: Article 5 is inviolable, we will always come to the rescue – he continued.

– In one matter, I will not back down, and my wife and I will not back down, namely when it comes to guaranteeing women's rights. I am as disappointed as you are that we haven't managed to settle this matter yet. I will be pressing our coalition partners to vote for a bill that will abolish these medieval anti-abortion regulations – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting with residents in Słupca.

– They will no longer have that alibi, because some of them hide behind President Duda, and I simply hope that we will settle the matter. If not, I will submit my own bill – he continued.

– Today, all we hear from the Presidential Palace is the scratching of a pen and nothing more, meaning, there are no proposals, no special activity, and surely we've all had enough of this, and it must be clearly stated that a presidency must be active, it must have ideas – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting with residents in Słupca.

– I guarantee you that the Presidential Palace is certainly not for setting up beds in the basement for party colleagues. Let those PiS members go to Budapest instead – he continued.

– The scale of mainstream attacks shows that Trzaskowski would definitely prefer to face Nawrocki in the second round rather than me. And I don't blame him at all – wrote Sławomir Mentzen on social media.

– They want nothing to change, for everything to remain as it has been. But Poles have had enough of this system, they want real change. And we are that change! – he emphasized.

– I stand before you today to clearly declare that as a candidate for president, and also as president of Poland, I will be a staunch opponent of privatizing Polish healthcare. I will not allow healthcare to be privatized. Universal, generally accessible healthcare in Poland must remain free of charge – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press briefing in Bochnia.

– The incompetence of the current government led by Donald Tusk cannot be compensated for by attempts to privatize Polish district hospitals across Poland, because this magic wand, as we know today, does not work – he continued.

– It is clear that if Ukrainians want to see us as friends, they must reconcile with all of history. And here, guilt is not equally distributed, because Poles never planned genocide. And the fact that we are now seriously investing in nuclear energy, in renewable energy sources, and also seriously treating this transitional fuel [gas], will bring results on our bills, but in a few years, because the last 8 years have been wasted – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Gniezno.

– He [Trzaskowski] observes this turmoil happening in the election campaign from a distant vantage point and, as I understand it, simply does not want to descend from his palanquin, as I have called it, to debate what interests Poles. This is not a surprise to me, because he is a candidate who is deeply detached from the social reality in the Polish state, and I hope that Poles will finally see this – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

– What are we supposed to discuss? Rafał Trzaskowski's nail file, well, ladies and gentlemen, these are not serious topics, or about what Rafał Trzaskowski talks about during his meetings, about my gym, my sports activities? However, there are fundamental things that divide us, and the issue of paying for studies is certainly one of them – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

– I am a Catholic, I am a Christian, so my general stance is of course pro-life, that's a certain general reflection. You are referring to the case of rape; Polish law regulates this, as you, Madam Editor, and the public are aware, this decision naturally belongs to the woman – said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

– That is how it is regulated in Polish law. A woman is a victim of rape, it is a terrible thing for a woman, let there be no doubt. A woman is the victim of rape, and the man is the perpetrator of rape, so first and foremost, the Polish state should take care of the woman who has been raped, that is natural – he continued.

– I will ensure – and I am looking at the youth – that as President of the Republic of Poland, 18-year-olds will be able to learn practical driving skills in their schools. They must adapt to the labor market already in school. And they must learn how to be Polish, discover their identity, not be subjects of a foreign ideology that seeks to undermine their identity and our cultural heritage – said Karol Nawrocki in Tarnów.

– Americans are happy that Europe wants to spend more money on security. Americans are happy that the Eastern Shield is a European project. Everyone understands this. All of Europe, the United States, only Kaczyński and Orbán don’t understand it, and that is something unprecedented – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting with residents in Kościan.

– We must stop the depopulation of the Polish state – and we will not stop it by letting illegal migrants through the Polish western border. We do not want this, and it is not a path we will take. There will be fewer and fewer of us, and more and more culturally alien people, pushed here through the western border by our western neighbor, illegal migrants – said Karol Nawrocki in Tarnów.

– I will not allow this as the president of the Polish state, because I say: Poland first, and this is not in the interest of the Polish state, our security, the security of our women and children – he added.

– My opponents have woken up and are very eager to debate. I invited them to a debate a few months ago, and of course, this debate will be organized. However, I would like to discuss Poland and its future in this debate in a sensible manner – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a meeting with residents in Kościan.

– While there is pressure on our eastern border, while Donald Tusk's government is not reacting and is abdicating responsibility for protecting our western border, fortunately we have wonderful Polish patriots: Robert Bąkiewicz, Adam Borowski, and all the patriots who are guarding the Polish border – said Karol Nawrocki in Tarnów.

– And if the need arises, I will lead a social rebellion against what is happening on Poland's western border. When the need arises, you will see me there – he declared.

– Today we are entering the final two months of the election campaign, and the incantations are truly over, the funny videos are over, of course, videos can still be made, they can be shown, but this is not the essence of these elections. […] The era of videos is over, the era of simple incantations is over – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting with residents in Kościan.

– Today, difficult questions must be answered. I am ready to answer these difficult questions immediately. On Tuesday, I am arranging a big press conference, I will invite all media, let them ask me questions. […] I will not jump on a scooter and run away from problems, I will answer questions – he continued.

– You have heard the statements regarding anti-abortion law. Mentzen says that women should give birth to children conceived through rape because, pay attention, I quote: they experienced an "inconvenience." This is unbelievable, it's a scandal to use such language, and for this reason alone, such politicians must be shown a red card, because it is women who should decide about their health, about their lives, and they deserve respect – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Kościan.

– I appeal to all girls, young women: if your boyfriend, your husband, your partner wants to vote for Mentzen, ask him this question. How does he treat women? Because the fact that he can’t even make scrambled eggs shows he’s detached from reality. Most of us can truly manage on our own – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Kościan.

– There is a book and a film, the title of which I will not mention, but I will tell you that exactly today we have 50 days until the elections, until May 18th. I am wondering if, within these 50 days, we will get to know all 50 faces of Rafał Trzaskowski – said Karol Nawrocki in Tarnów.

– I want to appeal to Rafał Trzaskowski, Donald Tusk’s deputy: you have less and less time. We have already seen many of your faces, but we want to see all 50 faces of Rafał Trzaskowski – he stated.

– I also have a question for my other competitor, because they have become so terribly fond of each other, PiS and Confederation […] these spring emotions are boiling within them, they would like to be together, they are planning to govern in the future. I beg you, let's not allow that – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting with residents in Kościan.

– They have entered into a non-aggression pact. I just ask, where is Mr. Nawrocki's credibility, since he does not comment on all these proposals from his dream coalition partner. He said something about paid studies. But does Mr. Nawrocki like the liquidation of 800+? […] Does he like taking away the 13th and 14th pensions? Does he like paid healthcare? These are all questions for Mr. Nawrocki – he continued.

– Mr. Nawrocki, will you also force women to give birth from rape? Is that also your program? Let's ask these kinds of questions. Let them treat us seriously – he went on.

– We know that in the capital you supported the LGBT community more than the Warsaw metropolitan police. We know that the rainbow flag flies higher in your heart than the white and red flag. But during the election campaign, you cleverly tried to hide this by pretending to be a pseudo-conservative – said Karol Nawrocki in Tarnów.

– It didn't work out, because your associates have already stated that you will sign all laws regarding the undermining of gender identity and the acceptance of same-sex couples adopting children – he continued.

– The word that the whole world associates with us is precisely the word “solidarity,” and we will not let it be taken from us, we will not let it be appropriated, but we all want to be faithful to this word. If we hear that someone proposes a policy that has nothing to do with empathy, with solidarity, with help, and the other competitor doesn't even have the courage to comment on it, it shows that they can only play election games and don’t have a rational program for Poland’s future – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Kościan.

– Let's be clear: on this matter, I am ready to sign the status of a 'closest person,' not only in a sexual context, but also in the context of relationships between people, friendships, and relationships between volunteers and veterans. As president, I am ready to make life easier for Poles, regardless of their life or social situation – said Karol Nawrocki in Tarnów.

– I am not ready to place an LGBT flag before the white and red flag and participate in pride parades – said Karol Nawrocki in Tarnów.

– Mr. Vice-Chairman, Poles have a right to know who they are electing to the office of president. Those who met with me today in Tarnów will not elect you anyway, that’s obvious. But those who still want to vote for you also crave the truth about you. Please tell us who you are and what your program is, Mr. Vice-Chairman. That is what we expect – said Karol Nawrocki in Tarnów.

– I recently watched Rafał Trzaskowski's speech. He spoke about Poland being safe. [...] If Poland is safe today, it is safe because the United Right government signed contracts for South Korean and American equipment. Because the Polish army was built consistently. And in the last year, the number of recruits to the Polish army and the Territorial Defence Force has dropped threefold – said Karol Nawrocki in Tarnów.

– And when I watched Rafał Trzaskowski's speech, I saw Rafał Trzaskowski, but I heard Mariusz Błaszczak talking about his successes – he added.

– Did you hear what [Sławomir Mentzen] said? Paid tuition is a thing from his dream world. It’s good that he said it out loud, because at least those young people who followed him – in part – blindly will hear that the world of his dreams is their nightmare – said Szymon Hołownia in Olsztyn.

– Because a nightmare is a world where someone wants to force a woman to give birth after rape, under threat of prison. And he even has the audacity to say that it’s a “displeasure” that a woman has encountered. Is this the talk of someone who has even a shred of a heart? Can you imagine what he will do if he has presidential power at his disposal? – he asked.

– The poor, the weak, those who received an oncological diagnosis overnight, those who cannot afford to educate their children – what are they supposed to do in Mentzen's world of dreams? This is evil, and I will fight this evil. That is why I challenged him to a duel, I challenged him publicly yesterday on Polsat to a debate – said Szymon Hołownia in Olsztyn.

– And this coward is unable to confront me. Because he is a cyber-coward, a meek mouse in reality.
