PiS-backed presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki will embark on a campaign trail to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. At 10:00 AM, he will visit the trade and service company ANIMAR in Lidzbark Warmiński, and at 3:45 PM, he will visit the Janpol Production Plant in Brzozie Lubawskie. At the end of the day, at 6:00 PM, he will meet with residents of Iława.

Confederation presidential candidate Sławomir Mentzen will visit the Podlaskie Voivodeship. At 3:00 PM, he will meet with residents of Siemiatycze, at 5:00 PM a meeting is planned in Hajnówka, and at 7:00 PM he will visit Białystok.

Sejm Marshal and presidential candidate Szymon Hołownia will visit the Masovian Voivodeship. At 11:00 AM in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, a press briefing will take place. At 4:00 PM, a meeting with residents of Grodzisk Mazowiecki is scheduled, and at 6:30 PM, he will meet with residents of Piaseczno.

– I am very surprised by this situation. It requires an explanation at the coalition level, because this is not a rebellion against the health contribution, against Poland 2050 – this is a rebellion against the project that was unanimously adopted by the government – said Paulina Hennig-Kloska in an interview with Beata Lubecka on "Gość Radia ZET".

– Because generally, the Left did not raise any objections to this project at the government level. I would have to check the minutes, but in my opinion, no one submitted a dissenting opinion, because this project was constructed primarily to be aimed at small, Polish, domestic entrepreneurs, those SMEs. Budgetary funds for the National Health Fund were also supplemented for this purpose – she continued.

– In the Polish People's Party, both in its conservative and less conservative factions, there is still great faith that Szymon Hołownia will reach the second round of the elections and we will avoid this problem – said Krzysztof Paszyk during the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM, responding to a listener's question about whether the conservative part of the PSL will vote for Trzaskowski, Nawrocki, or Mentzen in the second round.

– Absolutely, as Poland 2050, we will demand the fulfillment of this electoral postulate of the entire coalition [lowering the health contribution]. For this project to return for a vote. – A few weeks ago, I announced a comprehensive program to support access to housing, the "First Keys" to an apartment. It will be implemented through two laws. The first law was already adopted this week, on Tuesday, by the government [...] it concerns social housing. We are completely tidying up the mess and confusion that the Law and Justice party introduced in this area – said Krzysztof Paszyk on RMF FM, when asked about the "First Keys" project.

– Absolutely, this is not a Leftist idea, I deny such suggestions [...]. This is a project that has been thoroughly worked on and developed by the Ministry of Development and Technology together with experts; it is a collection of ideas originating from this ministry. – This will certainly divide the coalition, and we will seek agreement at the parliamentary level to implement this demand. There are many groups that declare support for entrepreneurs – said Paulina Hennig-Kloska in "Gość Radia ZET," when asked what would happen if lowering the health contribution fails to pass.

– We support social housing, we support community housing, and a second bill is entering the government's legislative works schedule, which implements this broad "keys to housing" program, concerning support for all those Polish women and men, and there are very many of them, who want to live in a property they own – Krzysztof Paszyk said on RMF FM.

– Bills that garner complete agreement from all coalition partners from the very beginning are rare. […] There is agreement on the majority of solutions, I believe, but above all, there is agreement that Poles who want to live in their own homes also deserve support. – I remember numerous statements from Mr. Tomasz Trela, Krzysztof Gawkowski, meaning politicians from the Left, who, at the moment the Polish Deal and changes to the health contribution were introduced, shouted that it was undignified, that it was killing small businesses in Poland, and declared, postulated changes in the opposite direction. – And I am truly proud that this is happening during Poland's presidency, as it is one of our priorities – the commitment to make decisions by June that will reduce the burdens and costs caused by excessive regulation and administration for European businesses. Specifically for SMEs, we should reduce the excessive costs resulting from the over-regulation of the economy and administration by 30% – he added.

– On Monday at noon, a meeting with representatives of the social partners will be held in my office, and together we will submit the first report on where we stand with deregulation. I will be very keen and will call upon all actors in this very important process of deregulating the Polish economy to present this package, including with regard to the deregulation of European law, before June – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.

– The rearmament of Europe was also a topic. Europe can no longer be defenseless. The new American policy emphasizes greater European responsibility for itself. If NATO is to remain a pact that guarantees security for Poland and Europe, it is obvious, for everyone now, that Europe must take on much more responsibility and defense tasks – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.

– I can say with satisfaction that the East Shield has now been permanently incorporated as one of Europe's defense priorities, and this will have consequences. Tomorrow, we will probably see one of the examples of modern techniques being deployed on our eastern border. Together with Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz and Minister Siemoniak, we will visit new infrastructure on the Polish eastern border – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.

– Until yesterday, 5 PM, because I checked, there were no comments on this [wind energy bill] project. So, I am counting on us finishing this marathon today at 12 PM and finally being able to enjoy the fact that in Poland we will be able to produce, mind you, more of the cheapest energy – said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on "Gość Radia ZET".

– The average cost of generating a megawatt-hour for such an onshore wind turbine – technically, ordinarily, without taxation, without anything – is below PLN 200, while for hard coal it's over PLN 400. […] Our ambition is to double energy from onshore wind turbines from 10 gigawatts to 20 gigawatts within the next 5 years. [By how much would electricity then become cheaper?] We can calmly reach a level closer to Western European countries – she stated.

– It is not my role to rush the President [Duda]. I am aware of the constitutional prerogatives, everything is clear, I know he still has time, but we – Poles – do not have time. Because if every day we register 100-150, 200 attempts to illegally cross the border, then they are trying to cross the Polish border because they expect to be able to submit an asylum application. If the President finally signs this bill, we will immediately implement the regulation and also conduct a major information campaign in those countries from which the majority of migrants wanting to illegally cross the borders come, stating that these efforts will be in vain, are completely unnecessary, and that they will be throwing money away – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.

– Every day of delay, Mr. President, is also endangering our Border Guard, our soldiers, our female and male police officers there, at the border, by prolonging the acute inflammatory state that still prevails at the border. So I am counting on a swift decision here – he continued.

– I also often hear opposition comments regarding the western border, suggesting Poland should close its western border. It may seem like a very simple solution, but it’s worth asking those hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Poles who sometimes benefit daily from the ability to cross borders, feel at home everywhere in Europe, including in the border region with Germany. You know how many people live on our side, work there, or vice versa. Therefore, closing the border and returning to the situation before joining the EU seems, to put it mildly, an unnecessarily brutal undertaking that strikes heavily at the interests of ordinary people – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.

– No [resignation is not an option]. The commitment [will boost the campaign], the fact that I have now focused exclusively on the campaign, arguably. I think I’m the first Marshal of the Sejm to decide to take a leave of absence – stated Szymon Hołownia in the program “Sygnały dnia” on PR1.

– I believe we can achieve a lot in these two months. I recall that the previous presidential campaign, after a candidate change, lasted practically this long, perhaps even a little less – he added.

– Here stands a man, a politician, who has particularly contributed to Poland having an army, because the situation that existed before, those 95,000 soldiers, was essentially the absence of an army. For Poland to be able to defend its borders, a plan was created, a grand plan […] prepared not by civilians, but by the General Staff, in two versions, one of which was chosen, and the one who was to implement it and did implement it […] was precisely Minister Błaszczak – said Jarosław Kaczyński during a protest in front of the prosecutor's office.

– This had the support of the vast majority of Poles, but unfortunately, it simultaneously provoked the fury of all those who had previously worked to make Poland defenseless, to make Poland a country […] essentially without troops, without an army. And these people are unfortunately triumphant today – he continued.

– Sławomir Mentzen is naturally trying to enter [the third way] path, however, he is a candidate who is gaining significant support and improving in polls at the expense of Karol Nawrocki, who turned out to be an inept candidate. However, we must clearly state that Mentzen's honeymoon period will not last forever – said Szymon Hołownia on PR1.

– He will have to account for the financing of his campaign and its scale, because he was running it even before the campaign officially started. And I would like to know where he gets all this money from, and I believe I'm not the only one – he continued.

– We've seen various things in Romania, we've seen various things in other places. I would like to know where these tens of thousands of banners that are hanging in Poland today come from, and I hope Konfederacja will clearly account for this, because it amounts to tens of millions of zlotys – he continued.

– If Minister Błaszczak has to listen here today, if I understand correctly, to charges, without any legal basis, then one can say that something is happening that is a violation of the law, but it is also an anti-state, anti-Polish act, in the interest of external forces – said Jarosław Kaczyński during a protest in front of the prosecutor's office.

– Those who have brought this about serve foreign forces. Those who want Poland to be weak, to be subordinate. Who today are using the war in Ukraine and other crises to effectively bring about the creation of a single centralized European state, naturally under the leadership of Germany and to some extent perhaps also France – he continued.

– I don't want to pick on them anymore, I'm talking about the Law and Justice party (PiS), but they are truly very strong with their words, yet they have two left hands and completely fail to understand what is happening. You just need to look at the statistics. I confirmed this again before I came to you. In the last year of their government, in 2023, more migrants were transferred from Germany to Poland than during our time in power. This is not a method for controlling the situation, for building a truly secure border; it's a constant shouting of slogans, but when it comes down to it, as you will see, their actions in this matter – that stupid, irresponsible, corrupt visa policy – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.

– Everything can still happen in this competition, because now everyone is working in their own silo, everyone is building their support separately. However, the essence of elections is competition between different visions, and this can change everything – said Szymon Hołownia in PR1.

– I believe that Nawrocki will not be building up, but will be falling, because he has simply proven to be a very weak candidate, stumbling over his own feet, which will not be insignificant. Therefore, what will happen in PiS? They will be somewhere between 17 and 18 percent in the end, it seems to me. – Today we are in a peculiar situation, on the one hand, it is escalating, and on the other hand, we have a chance to reverse it. To carry out a very simple operation, an electoral operation, which will be the beginning of a change in the situation in our country – he went on to say.

– Today's interrogation will be another act of law-breaking, because there is not the slightest even starting point, not the slightest pretext to bring any charges against Minister Błaszczak. He did what was expected of him as a democratic politician, because he simply revealed the plans of that side to the public, plans that were already archived and he had every right to reveal them. He broke no regulation – Jarosław Kaczyński said during a protest in front of the prosecutor's office.

– We, the local government officials, have fought for years to make the energy transformation in our country sensible, to change our cities. And it happens that everything we did in our cities were solutions that were uncontroversial and that everyone benefited from. Because no one can probably object to greening cities, saving energy, investing in zero-emission public transport, or finally in RES – said Rafał Trzaskowski at the Ecological Forum in Szczecin.

– The right, because it is obvious that the Minister of National Defense is the superior of the Chief of the General Staff, is the superior of every soldier in the Polish army, so there are no doubts about that. But the duty, because that's how I view my mission, as a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Poland, as a former and then Minister of National Defense – he continued.

– This mission was to ensure that every inch of Polish land would be defended. […] I declassified them [the documents] so that it would not be possible to return to defense on the Vistula River line, so that it would not be possible to surrender almost half of our country to Russian occupation – he went on to say.

– If they hand over the command of our entire armed forces, if they hand over defense control to Brussels, or rather: to Berlin, then these EU oligarchs will say that you cannot build military units east of the Vistula river […] this is provocative towards Russia – he continued.

– We must ensure that everything we have established is defended, it must be protected. And the only defense and protection is the will of the Polish nation […] which should be expressed on May 18th in support of Dr. Karol Nawrocki, because President Nawrocki will not allow this – he went on to say.

– He is certainly trying [Karol Nawrocki] to fit into the melody composed years ago by Kurski and President Kaczyński, which means the constant scaremongering about Germany and repeating the word Germany in every possible context a thousand times a day. Because until recently, this probably worked quite well for them politically, so please don't worry about it too much – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.

– Today, we are not really facing a choice, but a necessity, if we want to achieve three fundamental goals. […] Three goals and therefore the necessity of carrying out an energy transformation that will effectively address these three goals – said Rafał Trzaskowski at the Ecological Forum in Szczecin.

– The first goal is, of course, lower electricity bills. I travel all over Poland, I talk to Polish women and men, and also to entrepreneurs. And they clearly say that without this, it is difficult to imagine the Polish economy becoming even more competitive. Today, energy from wind or sun is even three times cheaper than from coal and gas, and in Poland, we continue to pay some of the highest bills in Europe. This is absolutely unacceptable – he continued.

– Secondly: security, because over 40% of the energy we consume in Poland comes from imports. In 2023, we spent almost PLN 140 billion on this. Of course, I don't need to say that dependence on imports is a huge risk today. Wind and sun simply give us independence – he continued.

– Thirdly: the health and lives of Polish women and men. According to studies, smog contributes to the premature death of up to 100,000 people in Poland. This translates into gigantic costs, over PLN 260 billion. We must remember that investing in RES is also an investment in our health – he indicated.

– This vote, I do not abuse such words, but it is truly a disgrace to raise a hand in broad daylight against decisions that strengthen the defenses of the EU and the Polish eastern border, because that was the essence of this vote – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.

– Every such statement, whether it’s Kaczyński or Nawrocki, it doesn’t matter, that questions the sense of Europe uniting around a security program, a secure border, is acting in Russia's interest. Period. – he continued.

– We really must treat the energy transformation as an opportunity, not a threat, provided, of course, that we do it smartly – said Rafał Trzaskowski at the Ecological Forum in Szczecin.

– Provided that the hundreds of billions of zlotys that are finally flowing into Poland – because I don’t need to remind you what it was like in previous years – will be invested in the energy transformation. They will not be wasted, but will truly contribute to us being ready for the challenges of the future – he continued.

“You are insolent. If you wrote this law yourself, why are you having such difficulty explaining what’s in it? Lies have short legs, and reality verifies you. You haven’t prepared any housing bill yourself that would be presented to the government” – wrote Anna Maria Żukowska on X, addressing Krzysztof Paszyk.

“The only housing project you are working on is the one brought to you in a briefcase by your developer and flipper colleagues” – stated the chairwoman of The Left parliamentary club in another post.

Żukowska’s posts are a reaction to a statement by the Minister of Development and Technology on RMF FM. The PSL politician stated, among other things, that the law providing support for social housing is “absolutely not a Left idea,” but a project “developed by the Ministry of Development and Technology together with experts.”

But this requires simplifying administrative procedures, better spatial planning, and adopting regulations. – We are moving away from coal, but we must do it responsibly. This must be a social process. Indeed, its share in the [energy] mix remains dominant. – I have now formalized this initiative [to increase defense spending] by recently submitting a written request in this regard to the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte. I hope that this will first be subjected to a serious discussion among the NATO defense and foreign ministers in the coming months, and then that it will become the subject of debate and a vote during the summit in The Hague, which is approaching at the beginning of the summer this year – stated Andrzej Duda during a press conference.

– This is one of the most important issues we must address today. I have no doubt that to ensure security in Europe, real security, as well as to provide real support to Ukraine, an increase in defense spending in the North Atlantic Alliance countries is necessary. It must be at the level of at least 3% of GDP – he continued.

– This summit [of the Three Seas initiative] will take place in Warsaw at the end of April, on April 28th and 29th, where we will discuss the development of infrastructure that ensures our security and communication capabilities here. There is great interest in this meeting in our part of Europe, not only from the states that currently constitute the Three Seas community, but also from new states that wish to join the Three Seas initiative – said Andrzej Duda during a press conference.

– Today, it is indeed the case that the security architecture in our part of the world, in Europe, has changed; we are observing this very clearly. We hope, we both expressed this today with Mr. President, that the war in Ukraine will soon end with a just peace, but above all, as I strongly emphasize, a lasting peace, meaning one that ensures the existence of a sovereign, independent, truly democratic Ukrainian state on the one hand, but on the other hand, also that our part of Europe and the world will be safe. This means that Russian imperialism will be halted and prevented for the future – stated Andrzej Duda during a press briefing.

– We must ensure we navigate this difficult reality and urge our European partners to seriously address the issue of security. This is precisely what is happening, because the European Union is now clearly stating: the threat comes from Russia. It is clearly stating that the East Shield project must be recognized as a European project – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Kołobrzeg.

– This is our national interest; anyone who contests this, anyone who doesn't understand this, doesn't understand what is most important, Poland's national interest – he continued.

"Security [...] is not just a matter of strengthening our border, it's not just a matter of strengthening our army, but today security is also self-sufficiency. That's why I talk about economic patriotism, because today we all know that we must have a strong economy, that we must support our entrepreneurs," said Rafał Trzaskowski in Kołobrzeg.

"Fortunately, the government is moving in exactly this direction, and I will demand much more," he continued.

– Today, we must all realize that the threat is in the East, not in the West. Of course, there's no need to explain this to you here in West Pomerania, but there are politicians who constantly seek threats in the European Union, and the European Union is precisely our security – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Koszalin.

– We must care for relations with the United States as well as relations within the European Union. If today, thanks to our efforts, we are finally adopting a new strategy in the European Union, which clearly outlines what we have advocated for years… then this is the realization of our policy, this is the realization of our interests – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Koszalin.

– I listened to what was happening in the Sejm and I hear what my competitors are saying. They claim that someone who wants a strong Europe weakens our alliance with the United States. This is a lack of understanding of the fundamental principles that govern the world today – he continued.

– After all, you all understand this, right? That if we want to be safe, we must be safe by insuring ourselves in the most effective way. By relying on the United States, but because the situation is uncertain, we must also rely on Europe – he went on to say.

– I see that the other side is primarily stirring up trouble, attacking. I don't want to talk about them, I am heartily tired of talking about PiS. How much longer can we talk about them? And I promise you that we will close this chapter. We will settle accounts with them and focus primarily on the future – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Koszalin.

– We all smile, rejoice, and are happy, but not because we live in a smiling Poland. We smile only because we hold hope in our hearts that something will change in Poland. That the system of running things in Poland will change, that what Donald Tusk's current government has led to will change. And Poland will return to the tracks of normality, development, security, and a deep awareness of where our security interests lie and where they do not – said Karol Nawrocki in Iława.

– We cannot allow Brussels or Berlin to decide on the security of Poles. Right from this spot, I thank all those parliamentarians, conservatives, who yesterday did not support the resolution that refers to strengthening the German arms industry with our taxes – said Karol Nawrocki in Iława.

– Because if Donald Tusk installs Rafał Trzaskowski in the Presidential Palace, then all brakes will come off. That is precisely why we must win together. We, the citizens – stated Karol Nawrocki in Iława.

– We must speak about the current state of Poland today and what has happened in recent days. The late Barbara Skrzypek paid the highest price for what is happening in Poland today. For the violation of the rule of law in Poland. For the fact that Constitutional Tribunal and Supreme Court resolutions are not binding in Poland. That resolutions are becoming laws, and the prosecution has been taken over by the government and a political party unlawfully – said Karol Nawrocki in Iława.

– A 66-year-old woman, a pensioner in poor health, did not have the opportunity to use her legal representative, while on the other side of the table sat three lawyers, including a Ms. Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek, whom it is hard to call a prosecutor. Because she is a radical, vulgar, and publicly declared politician – Karol Nawrocki said in Iława.

– I believe that today we need to choose an active president, we need to choose an independent president, we need to choose a president who will not be sidelined by the prime minister after three weeks, just as he sidelined his deputy when he returned to Poland and it turned out who would be the leader of Civic Platform – stated Szymon Hołownia in Piaseczno.

– Not a president who, in turn, will only care about PiS returning to power in 2027, because that is the most important thing today, and he can't do anything else, but maybe he will learn, but maybe he won't learn, and for God's sake, not a president who, whatever he does, causes champagne corks to pop in the Kremlin – he continued.

– I don't know why our coalition has such an allergy to tidying up state treasury companies, something we've been trying to do for a long time. I can't understand it. I don't know where this resistance comes from. Is it simply resistance because cronies have been hired somewhere and they would have to be fired? But for God's sake, we agreed to something different with the people – said Szymon Hołownia in Piaseczno.

– I don't understand what the Left is doing now, breaking agreements, because to be clear, this bill that they are now protesting in the media about the health contribution was previously adopted by the government, without a dissenting vote from the Left. Despite this, the Left voted for the state budget, which includes this solution – stated Szymon Hołownia in Piaseczno.

– This is a dispute we are having within the government about the shape of high-speed rail, because I don't think that building the Y-shaped line in Poland will save the world. That is, the connection Warsaw-Poznań-Szczecin-Wrocław. We cannot allocate an additional 15 billion [zloty] to high-speed rail and simultaneously take away 9 billion from local railways – said Szymon Hołownia in Piaseczno.

– Today, our raison d'état is to have a proper rail connection from Płock to Warsaw, to finally build the kind of railway needed from Grudziądz to Gdańsk. And just a moment ago I was in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, the largest city in Europe without a railway, and we have over 400 cities without railways in Poland out of a little over a thousand we have. CPK will be built – he added.

– I will fulfill the coalition agreement, of course, and if the Sejm elects Włodzimierz Czarzasty as Speaker, then he will be the Speaker, there are no doubts about that. However, if I were in the Left's position, I would exercise some caution when displaying their strength and potential. Please remember that this is the only coalition grouping to date that has broken up, and some of its MPs have joined the opposition, so the Left's negotiating position is somewhat different from when we signed the coalition agreement – stated Szymon Hołownia in Piaseczno.
