Friday's Political Schedule: Ziobro at the Pegasus Committee, Trzaskowski in Pomerania, Nawrocki at Agricultural Consultations

At 9:00 AM, the PiS parliamentary club will hold a press conference in the Sejm with MPs Anita Czerwińska and Jarosław Krajewski.

At 10:30 AM, the investigative committee on Pegasus will commence its session, during which former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro is scheduled to testify.

At 12:00 PM, Karol Nawrocki, the candidate for president supported by PiS, will participate in programmatic consultations concerning agriculture, to be held in Warsaw at the headquarters of the Association of Polish Journalists. A press briefing is planned after the consultations conclude.

On Friday, the President of Warsaw and Civic Platform's presidential candidate Rafał Trzaskowski will visit the Pomeranian Voivodeship. At 3:30 PM, his visit to the Iglotex company is scheduled. Meanwhile, at 5:30 PM, a meeting with residents will take place in Starogard Gdański.

Wójcik on Ziobro:

I Assume He'll Be in Poland Today, But He Won't Appear Before the Commission on His Own.

Yes, we spoke [with Zbigniew Ziobro] last night. Around 7 PM. He was in Brussels. We discussed today's commission. It was a brief conversation, and in a sense, he wants to deny what some journalists have said, that he would be hiding abroad – stated Michał Wójcik in an interview with Arleta Zalewska on TVN24's "One on One".

He will not be hiding abroad. I assume he has returned. I didn't ask him about it. I assume he will be in Poland today, but he will not appear before the commission on his own. That's certain, because, in the opinion of Minister Ziobro, myself, and many others, this commission is illegal – he continued.

Should Konfederacja Form a Coalition with PiS? Bosak: I Don't Know, the Question is General

– I don't know. In my opinion, the question is general in nature – said Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia ZET," when asked whether Konfederacja should form a coalition with PiS.

– Konfederacja should govern Poland and implement its program. And our program is different from PiS's program. And the expected quality of governance and style of conducting politics is an alternative to PiS – he continued.

– No political talks are currently taking place between Konfederacja and other parties regarding any political cooperation – he added.

08:33

Bosak on the police and the attempted arrest of Ziobro:

Perhaps they received orders to stage a media event.

– If the police go somewhere to arrest someone, then, according to professional operational procedure, it is preceded by so-called reconnaissance, observation, and professionally acting police do not arrive at an apartment where no one is present – said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET, when asked about the failed attempt to arrest Zbigniew Ziobro.

– Perhaps they received orders to stage a media event – he continued.

08:33

Wójcik:

This is already a slippery slope, this government will be changed

I believe that this government, through actions like these today, is trying by all means to hold on for as long as possible to rule, but this is already a slippery slope, this government will be changed. I am 100% certain – stated Michał Wójcik on TVN24's "One on One".

08:36

Bosak:

Abuses Were Wrong, But Not Using Intelligence Tools Makes Us Idiots on the International Stage

– We announced to the whole world that we would be blind and deaf, that modern tools do not interest us, no Pegasuses. Abuses were wrong, but not using modern intelligence tools is making us idiots on the international stage – said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET.

08:44

Bosak:

A President from the Opposition is a Blessing for this Coalition

– I predict that the elections will be held on time, because I don't see enough energy within this ruling coalition for anyone to want to break away. Their approval ratings would have to drop significantly, or a very severe economic downturn would have to occur – Krzysztof Bosak said on Radio ZET.

– Even [if Karol Nawrocki won the presidential election], I believe that a president from the opposition is a blessing for this coalition, because they can justify their lack of any political effectiveness, they can say 'we can't do anything because of the president' and suggest that the president's veto is blocking them, while they are not even introducing laws implementing their program in parliament – he continued.

– I don't remember a government as impotent as this one… incapable of implementing its own program and lacking the desire for its own program, or being internally disorganized – he went on to say.

08:57

Ziobro’s Morning Tweet:

Mafia-like Arrangement Around the Warsaw Mayor Will Be Addressed by a Legal Investigative Committee.

The cost per square meter of Rafał Trzaskowski’s barrack-museum was 10 times higher than that of the Center for Aid named after Father Olszewski, built in Warsaw at the same time. Twice as much as a museum in Budapest, awarded in global competitions, with a complex structure, 60 percent underground. And a toilet in the park, still not operational, costing over 50,000 PLN per square meter, is the most expensive building in the capital. They certainly have ambition! – wrote Zbigniew Ziobro on social media.

According to published criminal data, even the Italian mafia inflated public procurement orders by half. Due to the evident criminal mismanagement and suspicion of large-scale fraud in Trzaskowski’s investments, I will file a report to the prosecutor’s office regarding this matter. And I announce today that in the next parliamentary term, a legal investigative committee will address the mafia-like arrangement around the Mayor of Warsaw – he stated.

09:01

Bosak:

It appears PM Tusk has received a concession to distance himself from EU policy, especially for the campaign

– Both PiS and the Civic Platform have pursued and continue to pursue a duplicitous policy in this matter [climate policy]. That is, verbally they criticize what bothers Poles […] however, in the European forum, they unreservedly implement the strategy adopted by the European Union – said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET.

– We have information that the EPP, meaning the post-Christian Democrat faction to which Civic Platform and PSL belong, has adopted a declaration that during this term and subsequent terms of the European Commission, they will implement both the European Green Deal and the migration pact – he continued.

– At the same time, it seems that Prime Minister Tusk, especially for the presidential campaign period, has received a concession to distance himself from both the EU's migration policy and the EU's climate policy. We see this in the media that they are doing it. In my opinion, this is agreed upon, because earlier […] we saw consultations between mainstream European politicians on how to counteract so-called populists, meaning those who question the main programmatic assumptions of this left-wing, so-called progressive policy of the European Union – he further stated.

– They have concluded that since European nations are afraid of this, it needs to be criticized a bit, affirmed a bit less, but still done – he added.

09:01

Bielan:

We Already See That These Elections Will Not Be Fair

We already see that these [presidential] elections will not be fair due to the fact that the largest party in Poland, which is currently in opposition, PiS, is completely unlawfully not receiving its allocated subsidy, funding – stated Adam Bielan in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

09:12

Bosak Asked About a Lie Regarding Collegium Humanum:

I Knew the Media Would Link Me to a Scandal I Had Nothing to Do With.

– I very much ask anyone who has doubts to listen carefully to my statements, and in my opinion, everything is explained there – said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET, when asked why he lied about his studies at Collegium Humanum.

– I don't want to comment on this matter further […] yes, because it is inconvenient – he continued.

– Because I knew that exactly what is happening now would happen, meaning the media would link me to a scandal I have nothing to do with – he went on to say, after the host pointed out that he had changed his narrative regarding his studies at Collegium Humanum (first saying he hadn't studied there, then admitting he had studied).

09:19

Wipler on Ziobro's Presence at the Committee:

Even if He Comes, Little Will Come of It.

He could have come, he didn't have to, and even if he does come, little will come of it, because a court can force him to be brought, to appear, but no court – anywhere in the world, including Poland – is able to force someone to give explanations. To speak, to answer our questions – stated Przemysław Wipler in a conversation with Mariusz Piekarski on the program "Gość Poranka" on TVP Info.

If he's not here by 10:30, it means he's not here, he didn't come and wasn't brought, that the actions ordered by the court, in the court's decision, simply haven't been executed. It will be the beginning of a new episode, a new series, called "Pegasus Investigation Committee" – he added.

09:20

Wipler:

The legality of Pegasus is the least important issue; what matters more is whether we have adequate judicial oversight

In my opinion, whether it is legal or not is the least significant element of this entire Pegasus story, though it is also important – said Przemysław Wipler on TVP Info.

There is a fundamental thread. It concerns why Pegasus was purchased so rapidly, why they couldn't calmly wait for it to be bought normally from the service's budget. For me, the most crucial aspect is whether we have good judicial oversight procedures for the use of this tool, because the specific crimes, which in my opinion were committed, and we know some were committed, are crimes perpetrated by specific officers and individuals directly involved in revealing to the public, in various ways, data illegally gathered as a result of surveillance using Pegasus – he continued.

09:21

Bielan:

This Government Has the Worst Ratings Among Poles Since Miller's Government in 2004

This government has the worst ratings among Poles since Leszek Miller's government in 2004. For over 20 years, no administration has had such poor approval ratings, such a large number of opponents in society. And this also shows the scale of the problem. If he [Donald Tusk] is truly desperate to stay in power, he may resort to increasingly undemocratic methods – stated Adam Bielan in Radio Plus.

09:21

Wipler on the Constitutional Tribunal's Ruling on the Pegasus Committee's Activities:

I Have No Doubt We Are Operating Illegally.

I have no doubt. The Constitutional Tribunal has stated that we are illegal, but the government has used the same dishonest trick that Prime Minister Beata Szydło previously employed. Because, according to the Constitution, a ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal requires publication to be valid, and just as Beata Szydło did not publish important rulings of the Constitutional Tribunal, Donald Tusk, as Prime Minister, has not published a single ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal since April last year. This is an obvious violation of the law and an obvious violation of the Constitution – said Przemysław Wipler on TVP Info.

– And that is why I am working on this committee – because this ruling has not been published – he stated.

I have read this ruling, its justification. In my opinion, the scope of the committee's work has been defined too imprecisely, too broadly. I agree with the intellectual argumentation of the Constitutional Tribunal, nor do I question the [judging] panel – he added.

09:23

Wipler:

Pegasus is Needed, but Such Tools Must Also Be Under the Control of the Opposition, Courts, and Citizens

Pegasus is needed. These kinds of tools are necessary. A modern state must have such tools, but special services must be under supervision, under the control of opposition politicians, courts, and citizens as well, so as not to misuse these tools – stated Przemysław Wipler on TVP Info.

09:24

Wipler:

I'd Gladly Question Bodnar at the Commission About the Refusal in the Banaś Notification Case

I would gladly question Minister Bodnar, the current Prosecutor General. Why, for over a dozen months, if wiretapping and surveillance by Pegasus are so important, was no criminal proceedings initiated, or why was the notification from Mr. President Banaś refused regarding the evidently illegal wiretapping of him by Pegasus – said Przemysław Wipler on TVP Info.

09:24

Wipler:

Ziobro should be questioned in a few months, once other leads are exhausted

Zbigniew Ziobro should be questioned in a few months, once several other leads have been exhausted and closed – stated Przemysław Wipler on TVP Info.

09:25

Bielan on the Presidential Elections:

A Great Opportunity to Show the Rulers a Yellow Card.

The presidential elections will be a great opportunity to show the rulers a yellow card. We remember the agenda of this team – and Grzegorz Schetyna spoke about it directly. These elections are intended to complete the system, to completely monopolize power. Civic Platform (PO) wants to have an absolute monopoly on power in our country, and the poor ratings of the Prime Minister himself and the government may stand in the way of realizing this plan – stated Adam Bielan on Radio Plus.

09:27

Bosak:

PiS, PO, PSL, and the Left Have Turned Warsaw into a Second Kyiv, a Capital Supporting Two Nations. Let's Reverse This.

– Any unconditional welfare for immigrants must be limited. We cannot be a destination country for welfare immigration. We cannot, we should not, we absolutely must not do this. We have become a destination country for welfare tourism and health tourism for people with Ukrainian passports of various nationalities – said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET.

– PiS, Civic Platform, the Left, and PSL adopted so-called special acts in the previous term […] what we are against is the privilege whereby people with foreign passports are favored over Poles, because without paying a single health contribution, they have access to everything, and this must be abolished immediately – he continued.

– However, if they work and pay health contributions, they will be treated the same as all other foreigners and citizens of our country. We are not touching this in our law. We are addressing the privilege that has introduced two nations supported by one state. We cannot be a second Kyiv, and PiS, Civic Platform, PSL, and the Left have turned Warsaw into a second Kyiv, a capital supporting two nations. This is so foolish, so imprudent, so wasteful that I cannot believe it. We are the only nation in Europe that has done this. Let's reverse this – he went on to say.

09:29

Bielan:

I Heard a Rumor Dudek Could Be Trzaskowski's Substitute

Professor Dudek has not yet officially declared himself a candidate in these elections. He has until March, I believe, to register his candidacy. Then, of course, he must collect 100,000 signatures. Today, half-jokingly, half-seriously, I heard a rumor that he could be Rafał Trzaskowski's substitute. We know that PO has experience in changing candidates – stated Adam Bielan on Radio Plus.

Antoni Dudek is a former politician; we remember his involvement in creating liberal parties, the Liberal Congress from the early 90s – he continued.

As I understand it, he has decided to return to politics. That's how I assess his activity – added the PiS MEP.

09:38

Ziobro Appears on TV Republika

– Zbigniew Ziobro is in the Telewizja Republika building. This is a live picture right now from our backstage area. Zbigniew Ziobro will be in our studio shortly – said Michał Rachoń on the station's airwaves.

In the background, footage was shown of Zbigniew Ziobro entering behind the scenes.

09:55

Ziobro:

I Came to Poland Knowingly So No One Could Accuse Me of Fearing Anything Regarding Pegasus

– This commission is operating illegally, which is why I could not, especially as a former Prosecutor General and Minister of Justice, voluntarily attend its proceedings. However, I came to Poland knowingly today so that no one could make the accusation, as the currently governing politicians have falsely attempted to do, that I fear anything when it comes to the facts related to the Pegasus affair – said Zbigniew Ziobro on TV Republika.

09:56

Ziobro:

This Commission Operates Illegally; By Attending Voluntarily, I Would Be Participating in a Crime

I did not hide the fact that I was abroad, in Brussels, undergoing certain rehabilitation processes. This is also why I left Poland even before that famous decision by Judge Ptaszek was made, but when I learned that the court had unlawfully made a decision, contrary to the ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal – stated Zbigniew Ziobro in a special edition of Republika.

In light of these rulings, and also the consistent stance of the Supreme Court and representatives of the bar, the verdict issued on September 10th, which delegalized the Pegasus commission, is binding. This means that this commission cannot operate. This means that by attending it voluntarily, I would be de facto participating in illegal activities, and perhaps a crime. Because the work of these people who are today pretending to be an investigative committee is certainly a crime – he continued.

10:11

Ziobro to Rachon: I Would Ask You Not to Block, But to Let the Police In

– If the police want to perform their duties, and I always respect police officers, as I've had the opportunity to show many times and have also declared. In this matter, police officers are a uniformed service, they follow orders, so if there is such a decision, I would ask you not to block, but to let these police officers in – said Zbigniew Ziobro in the TV Republika studio.

– I will inform you gentlemen that the court's decision is illegal, it contradicts the ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal, but gentlemen, I understand you are performing your duties, your work, and therefore I think we should not block their task – he continued.

– I naturally accept what the minister has said. We are a house of free speech, however, at the moment, outside the entrance to the station, there are also company authorities, as well as our lawyers. I am certain that if all legal and formal, appropriate regulations are met, then as an institution that respects the law, we will certainly not undertake any unlawful actions, and we hope that the police will also not undertake any such actions – replied the interviewer, Michał Rachoń.

10:18

Ziobro in Republika Studio: Thank you for the opportunity to talk, I'll go down to the officers

If you allow me, in order not to escalate this situation and to also understand the difficult position the officers find themselves in, I would like to thank you once again for the opportunity to talk and I will go down to you – said Zbigniew Ziobro in a special edition of Republika.

10:27

Warsaw Police Spokesperson: Until 10:30 AM We Execute the Arrest Warrant; Afterwards, We Await the Court's Decision

It no longer depends on us; it depends on the orders we receive from the court. Therefore, until 10:30 AM, we are executing the order [this warrant is in effect] that has been presented to us – stated the spokesperson for the Warsaw police.

If Zbigniew Ziobro does not appear by 10:30 AM, we will await what the court decides in this matter. What decisions the court makes, we will then implement – he added.

10:42

Sroka Proposes Discussing Arrest for Ziobro as a Disciplinary Measure:

The Witness Was Not Detained or Brought In.

– As we can see, the witness was not detained and brought in at the hour we designated. Mr. Zbigniew Ziobro is ostentatiously breaking the legal norms that apply in the state. […] This interrogation was supposed to be conducted with respect to a witness, not a suspect, so Mr. Ziobro today demonstrated fear even of an action as simple as being questioned as a witness – said Magdalena Sroka during the sitting of the Pegasus special parliamentary committee.

– In my opinion, it is unacceptable to allow the law to be broken in such a contemptuous manner in Poland […] at this point, I would like to begin a discussion with a proposal that we submit a request for an arrest, an arrest as a disciplinary measure for a witness who behaves in such an ostentatious way – she continued.

10:43

Bodnar Announces Further Developments in the RARS Scandal:

No One Who Broke the Law Can Count on Protection.

The RARS scandal is being consistently investigated by the National Prosecutor's Office. Yesterday, by court order, three more individuals were taken into custody. Previously, prosecutors charged them with six offenses. One of these individuals is Anna W., a former director of the Prime Minister's Office. She was charged, among other things, with accepting a financial benefit of PLN 3,500,000. All charges are based on evidential material, and the prosecution is acting apolitically, upholding the rule of law. No one suspected of breaking the law can count on protection. More to come — wrote Adam Bodnar on platform X.

10:48

Ziobro Stopped by Police

– The Constitution states that rulings of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal are final and unchallengeable. This is a ruling by the Constitutional Tribunal, I have a printout here, which invalidates this entity that was the Pegasus parliamentary committee. I am informing you of this – said Zbigniew Ziobro in a conversation with a police officer, after leaving the TV Republika studio.

– However, respecting the fact that you are acting on orders as an organized unit, I will of course comply with your recommendations – he emphasized.

A moment later, police officers detained Ziobro.

10:55

Motion for a 30-Day Detention for Ziobro. Pegasus Investigation Committee Decides

The Pegasus investigation committee voted on a motion for the detention of Zbigniew Ziobro. There were 7 votes in favor, 1 against, and no abstentions, meaning the motion secured a majority.

– Witness Ziobro’s conduct […] is absolutely reprehensible and blameworthy. The police did not find him at his registered and usual place of residence; he was hiding in the last hours at the headquarters of a television station subservient to his political formation – Marcin Bosacki presented the motion before the vote.

– I move that the committee […] firstly […] adopt a resolution to request the Prosecutor General to submit a motion to the Sejm for consent to apply a disciplinary penalty of detention against Zbigniew Ziobro for a period of 30 days, counting from the day of apprehension, with the designation that the witness is to be brought to the committee session for the purpose of giving testimony – he continued.

11:18

Ziobro:

Pegasus Commission Chickened Out, Got Scared, Feared Meeting Me. They Fled in Terror

– I was in Warsaw at the right time, and the commission chickened out, got scared, and suddenly ended [their proceedings], looking for a pretext not to face me. They were afraid to meet me, they wanted to interrogate me so badly, they were so eager, and suddenly I'm here, I arrive, and they run away. Fear has big eyes, so big that they simply fled in terror, they deserted – said Zbigniew Ziobro in an interview with journalists.

– Those who are afraid to interrogate me are the ones who are scared. They are afraid of the truth – he continued.

11:24

Ziobro:

The Commission Knew I Was Being Transported Here, They Decided to Flee

– The Commission realized that the police were carrying out illegal court decisions to detain me and that I was being transported here, and after they found out, they decided to flee and desert – said Zbigniew Ziobro in a conversation with journalists.

11:28

Ziobro:

Pegasus Allowed Detection of Diversionary Actions by Foreign Services Aimed at Killing Poles

– This is a reason for glory, for pride for us, that we took care of the security of Poles. [...] The device, commonly called Pegasus, allowed us to detect diversionary actions by special services of a great power from the East, which were aimed at killing Poles – said Zbigniew Ziobro in a conversation with journalists.

11:31

Ziobro:

Tusk Hates Pegasus Because it Uncovered a Major Corruption Scandal of His Friend

– What causes Donald Tusk to hate the institution called Pegasus so much is that Pegasus uncovered bribery, a scandal, 5.5 million zlotys concerning Mr. Sławomir Nowak, his closest friend, head of the political cabinet and a minister in the government, a major corruption scandal – said Zbigniew Ziobro in a conversation with journalists.

– Pegasus uncovered this, and that's why they hate this Pegasus – he continued.

11:52

Wipler on the End of Discussion in the Pegasus Committee and the Hasty Vote on the Motion to Detain Ziobro:

They Didn't Want to Listen to Him.

"The Pegasus Committee, having information that Zbigniew Ziobro was entering the Sejm building, submitted a formal motion to end the discussion in order to vote as quickly as possible on the motion for arrest. This is not about truth, but about theater and legal tricks. They didn't want to listen to him," wrote Przemysław Wipler on X.

12:07

Ziobro in the Sejm:

They’ve been dragging their feet for months, so here I am.

For months they’ve been dragging their feet and repeatedly summoned me to appear before this committee. So here I am, not before a committee, but an illegal committee, which I strongly emphasize, which is why I myself could not appear after the Constitutional Tribunal’s ruling, because I respect the law – stated Zbigniew Ziobro at a press briefing in the Sejm.

I have such a duty, not only as a citizen of the Republic of Poland, a lawyer, but also a former Minister of Justice, but I came to Poland deliberately, so that while undergoing rehabilitation abroad, I interrupted it solely to give these committee members a chance, that by implementing Donald Tusk’s recommendations they would question me about Pegasus, but it’s evident they got scared, Donald Tusk got scared, because they know perfectly well that Donald Tusk’s obsession with Pegasus is linked to the adventures of his friend Sławomir Nowak – he added.

12:08

Ziobro:

Tusk Judged Himself a Coward

They understood that meeting with me today would be a difficult experience for them. Despite a sleepless night, I was ready to face these distinguished members of the commission, but Donald Tusk clearly judged himself a coward – stated Zbigniew Ziobro

13:06

Nawrocki:

Polish Farmers Face a Double Battle Against the European Commission and Unfair Ukrainian Competition

We are effectively in a situation where Polish farmers today, in 2025, in the 21st century, must constantly fight against forces coming from the European Commission on one hand, and unfair competition from Ukraine on the other. Farmers, this is the sentiment I heard in many districts, simply possess what is called know-how, knowledge, capabilities, traditions, their land, their farms, and often, as these voices say, they simply want the Polish state not to hinder them, but to support them when support is needed – stated Karol Nawrocki during programmatic consultations concerning agriculture.

13:07

Nawrocki:

As Future President of Poland, I Want to Be a Spokesperson for Polish Farmers

In a sense, we have diagnosed the situation; we know what threatens Poland, what threatens Polish farmers, whom I want to be a spokesperson for as the future President of the Republic – said Karol Nawrocki during program consultations concerning agriculture.

13:07

Nawrocki on His First Legislative Initiatives:

Systemic Solutions for Polish Agriculture are Crucial.

I have already announced that my first legislative initiative will concern the future, the Central Communication Port, and the development of Poland. However, within this package of the three most important laws, or five most important legislative initiatives, for me as a future president, a law and legislative initiative concerning systemic solutions for Polish agriculture is very important. Regardless of the fact that I will fight against eco-terrorism, the Green Deal, and the Mercosur agreement – stated Karol Nawrocki during program consultations regarding agriculture.

13:23

Sroka on the motion to question Ziobro:

We will decide whether in Białołęka or in the Sejm chamber.

There is no possibility that we will participate in the spectacle that Zbigniew Ziobro has been orchestrating for some time. Another disciplinary measure that the committee can impose on a witness is a 30-day detention order. We do not want to engage in political theater; we simply want to question a witness who possesses extensive knowledge of the Pegasus system – stated Magdalena Sroka at a press briefing in the Sejm.

Therefore, we will apply to the District Court in Warsaw for his renewed detention and placement in custody for 30 days, so that we can question him. Whether this questioning will take place in Białołęka or after he is brought to a chamber within the Sejm premises, we will decide that later – she continued.

14:49

Jaki:

'We're finishing quickly because they're about to come in' is the best summary of this committee's work

– I want to tell you – as someone who led a committee in this Sejm, I will risk saying with good results – that this [Pegasus] investigative committee is the biggest shame and disgrace in the history of Polish parliamentarism. […] Practically every subsequent hearing, every subsequent meeting of this committee exposed the lack of knowledge, preparation, and basic intellect and personal culture of the people who sat on this committee – said Patryk Jaki at a press conference in the Sejm.

– What we will remember from the work of this committee is a series of memes, unfortunately, more like pancakes than any findings […]. Because this pseudo-committee was afraid of further compromising itself today, they simply fled like cowards. […] What was supposed to be said during this committee: 'We're finishing quickly because they're about to come in,' is the best summary of the work of these very people – he assessed.

14:52

Nawrocki Appeals to the Government:

The Interest of Polish Farmers is More Important to Us Than the Interest of German Farmers.

I would like to call on the Polish government, the government of the Republic of Poland, to block the import of live animals from Germany, as well as products resulting from the processing of live animals on the German side. The interest of Polish farmers is more important to us than the interest of German farmers and German corporations – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press briefing.

I want to state clearly that as the future President of the Republic of Poland, I will come forward with a legislative initiative to extend the memorandum on the purchase and sale, the selling off of Polish land. We have as much Poland, as much of the Republic of Poland, as we have Polish land, and the Polish farmer is the owner of this land – he continued.

"Public Opinion Shocked by Another Insignificant Scandal": Bosak Summarizes the Turmoil Around Ziobro's Detention and the Investigative Committee

"'Public opinion has been shocked by another insignificant scandal' - perhaps this saying has never been more fitting than for the socio-technical games played today by POPiS politicians" – wrote Krzysztof Bosak on X.

"Police appeared at MP Ziobro's home this morning, even though they DID NOT WANT to arrest him. If they had wanted to, his home would have been under surveillance and the Police would have known he wasn't sleeping there. Zbigniew Ziobro appeared on TV Republika because he WANTED the Police to come and arrest him there. TV Republika hosted MP Ziobro for an interview, having previously locked the front entrance and let him in through the back, because they WANTED to have this show" – he continued.

"The Police refused to force entry into the station, but the station opened its doors, and MP Ziobro left at a carefully orchestrated time to meet the Police because he WANTED to be arrested and (appropriately late) taken to the Sejm. The investigative committee deliberated hastily and (appropriately early) closed its session before MP Ziobro was brought for questioning, because the Tuska coalition's representation on the committee DID NOT WANT to question MP Ziobro today, only to vote on the arrest motion" – Bosak wrote on X.

"Politicians from the Tuska coalition on the special committee then went to a press conference and appeared like spoiled children, grilled even by TVN journalists, because they are like spoiled children and they THEMSELVES WANTED it. MP Ziobro also wants further commotion around himself and an aura of a martyr for the cause, so the lifting of his immunity and the arrest motion are advantageous to him, as they create a useful legend and leverage his position within PiS" – he stated further in his post.

"Since everyone got what they wanted and everyone should be satisfied, I suggest we put on less menacing faces and focus on important matters. And above all, do not succumb to their socio-technique and psychomanipulation. Behind the scenes of this show, the main actors are relaxed and amused, so there is no reason for you to be stressed about it" – he concluded.

15:07

Jaki Announces Complaint Against Sroka:

When the Prosecution Becomes Legal, You'll See What the Rule of Law Means.

– Despite a series of irregularities and breaches of the law, […] Zbigniew Ziobro nevertheless appeared here and wanted to come to the committee. But what happened was that the Marshal's Guard, on Mrs. Sroka's orders, detained him, informing him that the committee, Mrs. Sroka, had told him to wait. Thus, they unlawfully deprived a Member of Parliament of his liberty – said Patryk Jaki at a press conference in the Sejm.

– Why was Ziobro detained? Because they were still sitting there and he could have entered and faced them. But they were afraid, like cowards. They fled, afraid to face him. They unlawfully deprived him of his liberty, detained a Member of Parliament, they have no right to touch him – he stated.

– A complaint will be filed with the prosecution regarding Sroka in this matter. They, I will show you, are laughing today, they only know how to tweet […]. But the time will come when they will have to answer for this. Once the prosecution becomes legal, then you will truly see what the rule of law means – he emphasized.

"Instead of Bread, We Have Games": Nawrocki Comments on the Ziobro Affair

I suppose we should start by saying that for the umpteenth time, we are dealing with a situation where, instead of bread – because bread is getting more and more expensive, and groceries are increasingly costly, and the state of public finances in Poland is becoming more dire – we have games – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press briefing.

We have another spectacle that the whole of Poland is discussing and which we will all unfortunately be ashamed of, because the police entering TV Republika and all those images that I had the unpleasantness of watching this morning, as someone who was in public television during an interview where the police also greeted me two years ago, are embarrassing for Polish democracy – he continued.

Biedroń on Parliamentary Investigative Committees:

They Serve Potential Criminals Who Make a Circus Out of It.

– I did not expect a parliamentary investigative committee to be able to produce anything concrete. With all due respect, because there are fantastic people there, Tomasz Trela for example, or the chairwoman of this committee […] I believe that it is not for parliamentarians to substitute for the police, the prosecution, and the courts – said Robert Biedroń in the "Afternoon Conversation" on PR24.

– I believe that parliamentary committees today serve exactly the potential criminals who make a circus out of it, put on a show, and also use it politically, as is evident today, to gain political capital. If the institutions traditionally responsible for this, i.e., the police, the prosecution, and the courts, had done it, it would have looked completely different – he continued.

17:48

Trzaskowski:

Did You See Those Circuses with Ziobro? It's Simply Unbelievable

When I talk about accountability, I mean that we should simply close this chapter as quickly as possible. When I watch these circuses today, did you watch those circuses with Mr. Ziobro, it's simply unbelievable. Incidentally, the Minister of Justice, who, all indications suggest, covered up the biggest scams, the Solidarity Fund [of Justice – ed.], you saw how it was spent, how money that was supposed to go to help those the state should be helping was spent – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Stargard Szczeciński.

17:50

Trzaskowski on PiS:

Let’s hold them accountable and move on

I always tell them: remember, law and justice are concepts that are finally being put into practice. Let’s hold them accountable and move on – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Stargard Szczeciński.

17:51

Biedroń:

Parliamentary investigative committees should be abolished

– I believe that investigative committees should be abolished in parliament, and the responsibility for conducting investigations should be transferred to dedicated state bodies – Robert Biedroń said in PR24.

– I do not want to defend the [Pegasus] committee, because I believe that investigative committees in the Sejm should be abolished, as they serve precisely the purpose of people like Ziobro trying to obscure their responsibility, trying to create suggestions in this murky water, perhaps the committee is illegal, perhaps the Tribunal should rule on it, perhaps he is right, perhaps he is not right – he continued.

17:54

Trzaskowski on Liberalizing Abortion Law:

I’ll Exert Such Pressure on the Parliamentary Majority That We’ll Do It, and If Not, I’ll Submit My Own Bill.

If anyone asks me whether we should continue fighting for women's rights – yes, we should accelerate, liberalize abortion law. I promise you that I will exert such pressure on the parliamentary majority that we will simply do it, and if not, I will submit my own bill, because a huge majority of Polish society wants Polish women to make decisions regarding their health and life – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Stargard Szczeciński.

18:00

Biedroń:

I fear that if democratic candidates try to outdo each other in populism, we will lose these elections

– When I look at other candidates [than Magdalena Biejat] who are competing in populism, I can no longer distinguish who is more or less radical right-wing, who is center, who isn't, because in my opinion they are all competing with Trump today to see who will be more Trump-like. Honestly, you can't fake the original, no matter how much these colleagues from the center compete in populism, they won't beat the original – said Robert Biedroń on PR24.

– Today, Rafał Trzaskowski is either abandoning his left-wing views, as it appears, or he never had them. […] I fear that if candidates on this democratic side fall so much in love with populist candidates and try to outdo each other in who is more populist, then we will lose these elections – he continued.

"The Minister of Justice is from Texas, who has a gun tucked into his belt." Trzaskowski on "Clown Ziobro"

If in all of this there is to be a president who knows nothing, or who makes beds for his colleagues and that's the only thing that interests him, at most he'll sometimes say how incredibly strong he is, who will listen to him? That he boxes in the forest, who cares? Today people care that someone can secure the best possible conditions for Poland for our agriculture and economy. That's what people care about. Imagine if they invited him, this clown Ziobro, what would he talk about, he would talk about how he bought guns – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Stargard Szczeciński.

The Minister of Justice is from Texas, who has a gun tucked into his belt when he bends over. This is unbelievable – he continued.

18:13

Trzaskowski:

We are on the right track to hold those who broke the law accountable

If it weren't for this enthusiasm, if everything were organized centrally, this success would not have happened. We would not be able to choose people who are doing something literally next to us, whom we can hold accountable each time. Remember that PiS tried to destroy this, PiS tried to destroy this, they failed to destroy it for 8 years, and thanks to you, thanks to your energy, thanks to civil society, thanks to non-governmental organizations, but also thanks to local government, today we managed to win the elections, and we are on the right track to strengthen democracy, strengthen the rule of law, and simply hold those who broke the law accountable – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Starogard Gdański.

Trzaskowski Attacks Nawrocki Over Statements on Ukraine:

I'd Rather He Knew Nothing, Then Maybe He'd Learn Something.

I traveled abroad very often, and whenever I was asked about security issues, I said that no matter what happens, in matters of security, we in Poland all speak with one voice. I said that when it comes to strengthening the army, all political parties want to strengthen the army. I said that we all in Poland prefer Ukraine to be part of the Western world rather than in Putin's clutches, and it seemed that at least here we had consensus – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Starogard Gdański.

It turns out that Nawrocki thinks completely differently even on this matter. I would prefer him to know nothing, say nothing, think nothing, because then maybe he would learn something. However, he claimed that Ukraine in NATO might not be such a good idea, and if not in NATO, then where? In the grey zone? That is, in Putin's clutches – he continued.

18:20

Trzaskowski Attacks His Opponent:

For Difficult Times, We Need Someone Predictable, Not a Radical.

We are to have a president who knows nothing about this matter. And if he does have an opinion, it's incredibly controversial, and there's no agreement on that, because we are talking about security, and we must realize that it's not just about Nawrocki being a radical, but about the fact that for these difficult times, we need someone who is predictable, who is able to enforce the necessary changes in the EU, who will strengthen NATO, and who will engage in partnership discussions with our partners. Because jokes are over today; security is paramount – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Starogard Gdański.

19:54

Sroka:

Ziobro's Hearing Will Happen, Sooner or Later. The Days of Him Dictating the Timeline Are Over

– Zbigniew Ziobro's hearing will happen, sooner or later. However, please note that this was the fifth time we tried to question him. He truly thought from the very beginning that he would direct his own show and everyone would play along. Well, that is not going to happen – Magdalena Sroka said in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" (Facts After Facts).

– We, as the investigative committee, saw his appearances on right-wing television, Telewizja Republika, where he decided to hide from law enforcement, from the police who were trying to apprehend him. [...] He fears responsibility for what happened – she continued.

– Zbigniew Ziobro should testify before the committee, but he did not testify before it because he decided to play a game with us. And we will not play this game with him. The days of Zbigniew Ziobro dictating the timeline are over, and therefore, we will dictate when we will question him – and we will question him – she emphasized.

20:09

Brejza:

Highest Praise for the Commission for Restoring State Dignity

– Highest praise to the police officers. Highest praise also to the commission for restoring the dignity of the state. Mr. Ziobro's theater is over – said Krzysztof Brejza in "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

– He is a manipulator, he is a poser. The posing is over. […] Even when he was slowly descending those stairs, a puffed-up poser. It's over – he continued.

20:12

Brejza on Ziobro: Should the Commission Wait for His Lordship? Who is He?

– Should the commission wait for His Lordship? Who is he? His Lordship? No, the law has been restored, equal for everyone: for Kowalski, Nowak, and also for Ziobro – said Krzysztof Brejza on TVN24's „Fakty po Faktach” (Facts after Facts).

– This system of systems, this caste of extraordinary gentlemen, has ended. He was treated as he should have been treated – he assessed.

– I know there may be such reservations that the commission should take a break, wait. But what was it supposed to wait for? Until he would again, in such a posing manner, stand there like His Lordship, having a chat with Mr. Gosek? No, the dignity of Poland has been restored – he continued.

20:27

Jail for Ziobro? Sroka Announces Motion to Strip Immunity

– Already on Monday, a motion to strip immunity will land on the desk of the Prosecutor General, Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar, so that we as a parliament can decide to remove immunity from Zbigniew Ziobro, in order to detain him again and this time be able to place him in custody, as a form of punishment, to compel him to testify – said Magdalena Sroka on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" (Facts After Facts).

20:35

Sroka:

Wipler, defending Ziobro so fiercely, looks like he has something to repay him for

– Wipler also said that the commission lacks materials, does not have them. Meanwhile, he himself does not have a top-secret security clearance. And he claims the commission lacks materials, yet he himself simply cannot read them – said Magdalena Sroka in "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24, referring to Przemysław Wipler's statements today regarding the proceedings of the Pegasus committee.

– So we can see how credible Mr. Wipler is in his statements, who it seems, by defending Mr. Ziobro so fiercely, appears as if he has something to repay him for. But I will leave that as a question – she assessed.

20:37

Why Did the Commission Close its Session? Sroka: We Knew Ziobro Wouldn't Respond Substantively in the Spotlight

– Ziobro was directing a spectacle. […] I understand that viewers wanted and needed to watch this interrogation today. For me, however, the most important thing is that such a substantive interrogation takes place – said Magdalena Sroka in TVN24's “Fakty po Faktach” (Facts after Facts), when asked why the Pegasus committee had ended its session at a certain point, even though Zbigniew Ziobro had appeared in the Sejm while it was still in session.

– Looking at what he was doing, we knew perfectly well that he would not respond substantively in the glare of the cameras. Therefore, if we had to make that decision now, we would make the same decision – she stated.
