The Week in Politics: Auschwitz Liberation Observances, Morawiecki Visits Flood Victims, Trzaskowski in Jarocin, Possible Ziobro Interrogation, and Fundraising for Nawrocki's Campaign

The beginning of the upcoming week is primarily marked by the observance of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz. Although the Sejm and Senate will not convene this week, the Pegasus investigation committee aims to make another attempt to interrogate Zbigniew Ziobro.

This week also sees the continuation of the presidential campaign – the Civic Platform candidate has a meeting scheduled in Jarocin. Additionally, Mateusz Morawiecki will travel to Lower Silesia to meet with flood victims, and Karol Nawrocki's campaign team will launch a fundraising drive.

Morawiecki Visits Flood Victims. On Monday, a press conference will be held by PiS Vice-Chairman Mateusz Morawiecki on a temporary bridge in Krosnowice. As the former Prime Minister wrote on social media, "the state has abdicated," so he will be in Lower Silesia once again to support flood victims.

Observances for the 80th Anniversary of Auschwitz Liberation. On Monday, President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda will participate in the observances for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz.

Błaszczak's Press Conference. On Monday, a press conference will be held in Warsaw by the head of the PiS parliamentary club, Mariusz Błaszczak, along with MEPs Patryk Jaki and Tobiasz Bocheński.

Another Week of Presidential Campaigning. In the coming week, candidates vying for the presidency will continue their campaign tours. It is known that Rafał Trzaskowski has an open meeting scheduled for Tuesday in Jarocin.

Fundraising for Nawrocki's Campaign. As announced by the head of Karol Nawrocki's election staff, a fundraising campaign will commence on Tuesday. "We will broadly inform about how to correctly donate to the #Nawrocki25 campaign," the PiS politician wrote on social media.

Possible Ziobro Interrogation. An interrogation of Zbigniew Ziobro by the Pegasus investigation committee is scheduled for Friday – this is a new date after the former Minister of Justice failed to appear at previous sessions. However, the Warsaw District Court must first grant consent for his compulsory appearance at the interrogation.
