The Sejm (lower house of parliament) will resume its session at 9:00 AM with a series of current affairs questions. At 11:30 AM, at the request of Lewica (The Left party), it will hear a current information report on the digital priorities of Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union, particularly concerning cybersecurity and AI development.

At 1:00 PM, the Sejm will proceed to the first reading of a government bill aiming to align Polish law with Poland's accession to the European Public Prosecutor's Office. At 2:30 PM, the first reading of a bill submitted by PSL (Polish People's Party) to amend the Code of Civil Procedure concerning the introduction of a "blind lawsuit" will commence. Finally, at 4:00 PM, MPs will consider a bill from Polska 2050 (Poland 2050 movement) regarding the obligation for periodic medical examinations for hunters. This legislation is a point of contention between Szymon Hołownia's movement and PSL.

At 5:30 PM, a one-hour voting block is scheduled. During this time, the Sejm will, among other things, consider the Senate's amendments to the 2025 budget bill, decide on supplementing the agenda with information from the Minister of Interior and Administration regarding the "number of crimes committed by foreigners in the years 2015-2024," and make changes to the composition of parliamentary committees.

At 9:30 AM, the extraordinary parliamentary committee for removing the effects of the September flood will convene. During this session, the government's plenipotentiary, Marcin Kierwiński, will present information on the current situation in the areas affected by the disaster.

At 2:00 PM, the Marshal of the Senate, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, will meet with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. The leader of the Belarusian democratic opposition will also meet with President Andrzej Duda at 6:00 PM.

Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz is traveling to a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the US Air Force base in Ramstein, Germany. The meeting will focus on the current equipment needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a review of the Group's activities to date. A press briefing with the Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled for approximately 4:00 PM.

At 9:00 AM, a press briefing will be held by the Minister of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak, and the Deputy Minister, Arkadiusz Marchewka, regarding the results of Polish seaports in 2024 and investment plans for the current year. At 1:00 PM, another briefing is planned with Klimczak and the government's plenipotentiary for CPK (Central Communication Port), Maciej Lasek.

At 12:00 PM, a press briefing will be held by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski, following a meeting with representatives of Copa Cogeca.

Karol Nawrocki, the candidate supported by PiS (Law and Justice party) for president, is heading to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. A press briefing is scheduled for 1:45 PM in Bemowo Piskie. At 3:00 PM, he is expected to meet with farmers in Pisz, and at 6:00 PM, a meeting with residents is planned in Olecko.

Sławomir Mentzen, the Confederation candidate for president, will hold meetings in the Masovian Voivodeship: in Maków Mazowiecki (at 4:00 PM), in Pułtusk (at 6:00 PM), and in Płońsk (at 8:00 PM).

At 12:30 PM, a press conference will be held in the Sejm by the leader of the PiS parliamentary club, Mariusz Błaszczak, PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek, and MP Olga Semeniuk-Patkowska.

– During the PiS era, economic growth was 0%, now there is a prospect of 3%, so the first [thesis] is untrue. Second point – the Central Communication Port (CPK) will be realized, which means this is another untrue piece of information. Inflation during the PiS era was 18%. Well, yes [in one point], and here it was 13% on average annually, here we are talking about a price growth rate of around 3.5%. So in all three cases, [Karol Nawrocki] was mistaken or lied – stated Ryszard Petru on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

– PiS talked about CPK, but didn't invest in CPK at all. It's easy to say, 'do a program for 200 billion, 150 billion PLN,' without expanding Okęcie, which is now bursting at the seams. What we are doing is expanding Okęcie, and at the same time building CPK, and all of this must be smoothly coordinated – stated Ryszard Petru in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

– It strongly suggests that the law allowing abortion up to the 12th week of pregnancy will be adopted by the Sejm sooner or later, and Mr. Nawrocki's stance actually positions him extremely far right, even in relation to many PiS MPs, and it's good for this to be heard – stated Ryszard Petru on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

– He is an extreme conservative, and Poles must know this – he continued.

– The [presidential election date] is neutral. I don’t understand [Witold Zembaczyński’s tweet] because one doesn’t usually go out of town on Children’s Day, so let’s not exaggerate. It’s a good date, every date has its drawbacks, and there’s definitely also the May long weekend in the middle. Such dates are as they are, there’s no point discussing it. I’m surprised, because it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack – stated Ryszard Petru on Polsat News’s “Graffiti.”

– If he is so tough [Karol Nawrocki], let him admit that he is a PiS candidate. Let him admit that all of this is arranged with PiS, that he coordinates these messages with PiS, and let him tell Poles that, instead of pretending to be an independent person – stated Ryszard Petru in “Graffiti” Polsat News.

– I respond to him [Andrzej Domański]: pay. Because if he looks into the constitution and the act on the National Electoral Commission (PKW) or any other act, he will not find a provision anywhere stating that the PKW is an organ established to assess the correctness or incorrectness of the Supreme Court, its chambers, and so on. Therefore, this part [paragraph 2] of the PKW resolution has the character of a journalistic opinion, without legal force, because the PKW does not have such a right – said Marcin Horała in „Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on TVN24.

– The constitution stipulates that state organs act on the basis and within the limits of the law. So, even if we assume that all these opinions concerning the Extraordinary Control Chamber are true, the PKW is still not an organ that can state this in a binding manner – he continued.

– At this moment, one cannot really count on the prosecutor's office in Poland to conduct proceedings correctly. Courts are still a possibility... Well, for example, [referring to the Supreme Administrative Court]. The legal route must be exhausted here, but also European courts – said Marcin Horała in TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego," when asked what PiS would do if the National Election Commission (PKW) recommended that the Minister of Finance should not disburse funds to them.

– Perhaps one can say that 2-3 words were said too many at that [military picnic in Uniejów]. Making a game-changer out of it in the election campaign is absurd. You know perfectly well that whether this picnic took place or not, the election result would have been the same. I don't know how much it changed… A fraction of a promille? – said Marcin Horała in the "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" program on TVN24.

– What Minister Domański is doing is ridiculous, and what you gentlemen are saying here is also ridiculous. The interpretation is very simple and very obvious, there is no discussion here. I am ignoring the fact that the gentlemen from the currently ruling coalition are simply denying their previous statements – Małgorzata Wassermann said in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the "Gość Radia ZET" program.

– Mr. Domański said that if there was a resolution from the National Election Commission (PKW), he would be obliged to disburse the funds. He has the PKW resolution, and at this moment he still has a huge problem, because it's visible that he's very scared and doesn't really know what to do. You have to look at his expression and see how he behaves – she continued.

– No government lasts forever, and we know this too. We will certainly settle this not only in a criminal but also a financial way, holding accountable, with interest and damages, anyone unlawfully withholding our money – Małgorzata Wassermann said on Radio ZET.

– A court will rule on the verdict – she continued, when asked if PiS wants to send Minister Domański to prison.

“We don’t expect Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz to cry; perhaps he should cry more over his own role and read what Tusk is doing with him online,” Małgorzata Wassermann said on Radio ZET, when asked about Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz’s words: “PSL was deprived of tens of millions [...] for a tiny mistake [...]. No one cried over PSL [...]. We will not cry over PiS.”

“Surely, no one is a child, and we know that these articles, which target both Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz and Marshal Hołownia, are already so embarrassing that they even go as far as to comment on his wife’s attire at a gala; it is truly pathetic,” she continued.

“Were we born today? And all these articles that, for example, are flowing and are directly from court files, from the prosecutor’s office – where do journalists get them from?” she went on, when asked if Donald Tusk inspires journalists to attack Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Szymon Hołownia.

– Mateusz Morawiecki never agreed to the provisions of the Green Deal in the form they are currently proposed, I am referring to the provisions that target Polish agriculture – Małgorzata Wassermann said on Radio ZET.

– Prime Minister Morawiecki explained many times that there is no such thing as a veto and it achieves nothing, just like leaving [a European Council meeting], because then the body simply has no position – she continued.

– My heart is entirely with Law and Justice from beginning to end; no other party is close to me, although I would say that any solutions good for Poland are close to me, and I look with great sympathy in the direction of Konfederacja – Małgorzata Wassermann said on Radio ZET.

– Because I hold very strong free-market views […] I very often or often agree with the views represented by, for example, Poland 2050, for example, I strongly advocate for the point concerning the reduction of ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) contributions to be implemented – she continued.

– The government should immediately revert to lower VAT rates on food, electricity, and gas. This is crucial for Polish consumers and our economy! – wrote Karol Nawrocki on social media.

– Marcin Romanowski was put in a very difficult situation, I want to say this on air because it is very outrageous to me, namely his hearing was on Monday, and Parliament was still in session on Friday. And on Friday, such information went around Parliament, which I received from ruling coalition MPs, I will say immediately that I will not reveal from whom [...] that he would be arrested on Monday – Małgorzata Wassermann said on Radio ZET.

– I said that this is impossible because, in my opinion, there are no grounds and no court would decide on it, and I heard in response: it is already decided. [...] We returned to the conversation with some of them later, during the next parliamentary session, where the issue of Mr. Romanowski arose, and I said: [...] you will truly unleash hell in Poland, and they told me that he was wrong to flee, because surely the appellate court would have overturned it, I am quoting – she continued.

– We will be dealing with very far-reaching changes, one could even say a kind of earthquake. Let's take economic matters, very high tariffs towards China, but also towards the EU. We don't necessarily have to be happy about this, but it's been announced. A new energy policy that could completely overturn everything usually encompassed by two words – the Green Deal, because it's impossible to pursue if the Americans, as they say, will drill, extract, etc. etc. – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with wPolsce24.

– Of course, the Ukrainian war is a very important matter for us. Polish society wants it to end. And I think President Trump will also strive for this very energetically. On what terms – I cannot say at this moment – continued the PiS chairman.

– It seems that Karol Nawrocki’s campaign is going really very decently. However, what is an element that is extremely noticeable, difficult to ignore, when it comes to the other side, I am talking primarily about President Trzaskowski, is lies, repainting, but so primitive that it’s hard to believe anyone could believe it. But I know there are those who do believe him – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with wPolsce24.

– 2025 will certainly be a breakthrough year regarding soldiers’ individual equipment […] we have finished the matter of steel helmet replacements […] but what we found a year ago, when we took office in Poland, was a desperate picture. Basic items were missing in Polish Army units, such as field uniforms, such as sleeping mats […] the shortages were gigantic – said Cezary Tomczyk during a Sejm session.

Soldiers Without Raincoats and Winter Jackets

– At the border […] for two years of operation of thousands of soldiers, it wasn't thought of to provide soldiers with raincoats. […] A soldier who stood on duty at the border in Podlasie at -20 degrees Celsius did not have a winter jacket. […] What did a soldier have instead of a winter jacket? Fleece and so-called ‘ceratex’ […] it was the soldiers who invented this name, and it accurately reflects the quality of this material – continued the Deputy Minister of National Defence.

– One of Antoni Macierewicz’s first decisions when he took office as Minister of National Defence […] was the sabotage of the Polish Army, which consisted of abandoning the purchase of uniforms for the Polish Army – he continued.

Suspension and Annulment of Procedures

– On May 9, 2016, the head of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate, on the verbal order of the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of National Defence, Mr. Bartłomiej Grabski, who was a member of Antoni Macierewicz’s leadership, ordered the suspension and annulment of all public procurement procedures for the supply of uniforms for the Polish Army, included in the material procurement plan for 2016-2022 and the material procurement plan for 2016 – added Tomczyk.

– Procedures for tenders for 40 assortment items with an estimated value of nearly a quarter of a billion zlotys were annulled and abandoned […] The Armed Forces Support Inspectorate, despite having funds for uniform purchases in 2016 and 2017, did not receive approval from the Ministry of National Defence leadership for the purchase of field uniforms – he added.

“Soldiers Would Have to Participate in Armed Conflict in Tracksuits”

– We are two years after 2016, after the annexation of Crimea. If, God forbid, an armed conflict had occurred then, to put it bluntly, Polish Army soldiers would have had to participate in armed conflict in tracksuits – emphasized the Deputy head of the Ministry of National Defence.

– I have no consent for aggression in public life. Regardless of whether J. Owsiak or anyone else, regardless of their status, falls victim to it. It is the duty of the police to act with the same efficiency towards everyone who is subjected to hate speech and criminal threats – wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media.

– I hope this efficiency will not be lacking when, for example, participants of ceremonies at the Smoleńsk monument are attacked. The law must be equal for all Poles, and everyone deserves security – emphasized the head of government.

– Antoni Macierewicz […] was entrusted by the Polish state with a very specific task, in this case, he became the Minister of National Defence […] and he committed sabotage against the area of his responsibility, which he promised to protect, namely the Polish Army – said Cezary Tomczyk during a Sejm session.

– This matter was referred to the Military Counterintelligence Service […]. For two years, no uniforms were purchased for the Polish army, contrary to obvious needs and the opinions of soldiers […]. Thus, laws prepared for the good of Poles will certainly receive my approval – stated Karol Nawrocki on Radio Plus.

– I cannot imagine sending Polish soldiers to Ukraine, and therefore, as a presidential candidate, I do not see such a possibility. Assuming, of course, that we are part of international alliances and these decisions should be made among allies. – In terms of the essence of the matter, it is of course important in the context that it shows that many people are losing faith in the Polish judiciary. My "I don't consider anything" refers to a fundamental issue, to the fact that the rule of law in Poland and the Constitution are being violated on one hand, and the prosecution disregards Supreme Court rulings. We have the greatest chaos in the judiciary since 1989, hence the case of MP Romanowski is one of many examples of a lack of faith in the Polish judiciary – stated Karol Nawrocki on Radio Plus.

– For me, the stance of leaving the Republic of Poland, even in a state of such profound chaos, is alien to what I would do. However, my 'I don't think anything' means that we should focus more on the state of Polish rule of law, on the chaos, on the lack of ensuring citizens a fair trial – stated Karol Nawrocki on Radio Plus.

– I was very saddened by this statement, because it seemed that even within PiS there was some reflection regarding the medieval anti-abortion law that was introduced by PiS. It turns out that Mr. Nawrocki fully supports this medieval law. This is something truly unprecedented – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference in Warsaw.

– The most important thing is that until now, it seemed that on fundamental matters concerning national interest, there was some elementary understanding between PiS and the opposition. This is because I recall that both the PiS government and President Duda supported Ukraine's European aspirations and also supported the postulate for Ukraine to become a NATO member as soon as possible. It seemed we had an agreement on this matter. However, Mr. Nawrocki contradicts this in his recent statements – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference in Warsaw.

– We are all, of course, of the opinion that the Volhynian issue must be clarified, but questioning Ukraine's membership in the EU or NATO contradicts our national interest. It is a completely different matter that Ukraine's membership in the EU will be very difficult, that it will require changes to the EU itself, changes to the budget, fundamental principles that currently apply to European agricultural policy, and adjustments within Ukraine itself. This will be a very difficult process, and it will, of course, begin when the war ends – he continued.

– Yesterday […] Dr. Karol Nawrocki presented three draft laws concerning VAT reductions. The first draft concerns a zero VAT rate on food […] the second draft concerns a reduction in VAT on energy from 23% to 8%, and the third draft concerns a reduction in VAT on gas, also from 23% to 8% – Mariusz Błaszczak stated at a press conference.

– We believe that these initiatives, presented yesterday by Dr. Karol Nawrocki, are aligned with the actions of the Law and Justice party. Therefore, today we are submitting three draft laws, and we count on them being supported through cross-party agreement by all parliamentary clubs – he continued.

– We are also appealing to the Speaker of the Sejm to take the draft law concerning the energy shield out of the freezer […] this draft law has been lying in Marshal Hołownia’s freezer since November last year – he added.

– The government's reaction should primarily correspond to Poland's state interest – said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference, when asked how the government should react to President Andrzej Duda's request for guarantees of non-arrest for Benjamin Netanyahu, should he decide to visit Poland for the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The Israeli Prime Minister is being prosecuted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Gaza.

– We naturally support Mr. President Andrzej Duda, we believe that the president is the guarantor of our homeland's security. We do not know the details, this is proof that the president wants to cooperate with the government – he continued.

– There was never, there is not, and there will never be discipline on such matters within the Law and Justice Parliamentary Club – stated Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference, when asked how PiS would vote on a bill reinstating the legal status prior to the Constitutional Tribunal's ruling on abortion, in light of Karol Nawrocki’s statement on the matter.

– There is no discipline here, I am a proponent of returning to the [abortion] compromise, but that is my opinion as a Member of Parliament, but before we even discuss this topic, there must be unity in the coalition regarding this project – said Olga Semeniuk-Patkowska at a press conference.

– We do not see that today, we see infighting between The Left, between Civic Platform, but also the Polish People's Party, because there is a difference of opinion here, so if there is a specific draft bill, then we will be able to respond to it – she continued.

– Allies defend those who can defend themselves, and that is my motto, which indicates that building the security potential of the Polish state is up to us, and it is most important that we build the potential of the Polish Armed Forces, so that the Polish army becomes the largest land army in NATO in Europe and reaches a level of 300,000 soldiers – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference in Bemowo Piskie.

– Our lawyers […], as well as the financial representative, have sent further letters today, addressed first and foremost to the Minister of Finance, Mr. Andrzej Domański. In yesterday’s announcement, he stated that he is turning to the National Election Commission for an interpretation of a resolution he received, because in his opinion it is ambiguous. However, in this announcement, he referred to expert opinions which allegedly also claim that the resolution […] is ambiguous – said Rafał Bochenek at a press conference.

– Our lawyers, as well as the financial representative of Law and Justice, have directed a letter to the Minister of Finance, Mr. Andrzej Domański, requesting the disclosure of these very legal opinions, who signed them, which entities prepared and indicated in this opinion that this resolution of the National Election Commission is ambiguous – he continued.

– I appeal from here that we build our security potential, and on the other hand, also appreciate international alliances, with the most important alliance, which is NATO, and with bilateral cooperation with the USA – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference in Bemowo Piskie.

– I naturally see a real threat to the future presidency of PO Vice-Chairman Rafał Trzaskowski. Because if Trzaskowski becomes president, he will still have his party leader, who is Donald Tusk, the current prime minister. I remind you that this is a prime minister who made very inappropriate insinuations regarding President Donald Trump – he continued.

– A second letter [...] has been sent to Chairman Judge Marciniak [...] it is a call to the chairman to precisely repeat, in effect, what has already been included in this resolution [...] to repeat to the Minister of Finance which amounts of subsidies and grants should be paid to Law and Justice – said Rafał Bochenek at a press conference.

– And an appeal that, as the head of the National Electoral Commission, he should oversee the observance of electoral law in Poland [...] that he should also be aware that the Minister of Finance, who does not make the payment of these funds within the legally stipulated deadline, is breaking the law, which in effect entitles the chairman of the National Electoral Commission to file an appropriate notification with the prosecutor's office – he continued.

– Poland is ruled by total hypocrites. […] They accused us of using our time in office for the election campaign. Rafał Trzaskowski is their candidate for the office of President of the Republic. They condemned us for what they themselves do – he continued.

– When Russia attacked Ukraine, we did everything to ensure Russia did not win this war. […] Thanks to Poland’s reaction, Ukraine defended itself. However, the matter concerning the Volhynia crimes, the genocide, must be clarified. Moreover, I will refer to the words of Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński […] who already told Poroshenko that Ukraine will not join the European Union with Banderism – said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference, when asked if Karol Nawrocki’s view, that he does not see Ukraine in the EU and NATO until the Volhynia issue is clarified, aligns with the Law and Justice (PiS) party's stance.

– We are facing a situation where, [following the Constitutional Tribunal's rulings], we must seek a new compromise. I am open to discussion, but I have also shared and continue to share my views with you, indicating that the solutions from the 1990s also have their own aspects that I do not agree with, so let's look for a new compromise. We see how difficult it is to achieve it – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference in Bemowo Piskie.

– Karol Nawrocki, as a PiS candidate for president, has accustomed us to the fact that he has no opinion on many matters. Unfortunately, when he does have an opinion, it has to be about women's rights. He clearly stated that he will not sign any bill that would even slightly change, improve, or liberalize the current draconian anti-abortion law. He said that his ideology, worldview, and faith are more important to him than our [women's] freedom of choice, right to decide, health, and life – stated Monika Rosa at a press conference.

– We, all female MPs of Civic Coalition (KO), we as KO will do everything to ensure that legal, safe, and accessible abortion in Poland finally becomes a fact, a law, and a woman's decision – she added.

– About whether they will lose their jobs, about the unbelievable cost of living under Tusk, about rising energy prices, about the drama in the labor market and employment, about mass layoffs in State Treasury companies, about the collapse of companies due to a lack of investment, they really think about abortion last. – I cannot imagine joining the EU, which cherishes these values, the values of historical truth, without resolving the issue, without duly honoring the memory of the victims of the Volhynia genocide, without proper burials, without exhumations, without a dignified commemoration of their memory – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– Regarding the continuation of this format [Ukraine Defense Contact Group], I think all those participating in this meeting today agree that this format is worth continuing – Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said at a press conference.

– After talks with those who have provided the most support to Ukraine, Poland naturally belongs to these countries, and there is a will and a desire to continue. Whether there will be the will and desire for continuation from the new [US] administration, we are preparing for the leading role of the United States to continue, without it, it will be very difficult – he continued.

– There is no peace plan for Ukraine; it has not been presented. There have been press reports, there have been statements during President Trump's campaign and from his advisors, but no vision that could be subjected to discussion and analysis, that is not yet here – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– Regarding 5%, because President Trump spoke about it, I am a supporter of this, and Poland is a good example. This year we have 4.7% of GDP. If authoritarian states, if Russia, North Korea, Iran, spend much more than Western countries, then we must make up for lost time in this race. Poland is doing this, investing heavily in security and armaments; we are an example – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– I kindly request that you immediately indicate the legal basis for the request for an interpretation of the resolution of the National Electoral Commission (PKW) regarding the financial report of the PiS Electoral Committee (…) Naturally, Mr. Minister may avail himself of the opinions of legal experts, including former and current members of the PKW, mentioned in your statement published on the Ministry of Finance website – wrote the Chairman of the PKW, Sylwester Marciniak, in a letter to the Minister of Finance.

– It should be pointed out that the legal basis for the resolution in question, as evident from the text of the resolution itself, is Article 145 § 6 of the Act of 5 January 2011 – Electoral Code (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 2408, and of 2024, items 721 and 1572), which – it is worth recalling – states that “If the Supreme Court or the district court finds the appeal referred to in § 1, or the appeal referred to in § 5, filed by the financial representative, to be justified, the National Electoral Commission or the electoral commissioner shall immediately decide to accept the financial report, respectively”. Therefore, in this matter, the legal maxim, repeatedly analyzed in case law and legal doctrine, applies: clara non sunt interpretanda (what is clear is not subject to interpretation) – wrote Marciniak.

– The position taken by the National Electoral Commission for years also applies in this matter, according to which the electoral procedure is regulated comprehensively and in its entirety by the Electoral Code, and thus provisions of other procedures, including the Code of Administrative Procedure, do not apply to this procedure. This view is also established in the case law of the Supreme Court and administrative courts – emphasized the head of the PKW.

– Furthermore, it must be stressed that the Minister of Finance is neither a party nor a participant in the proceedings concerning the acceptance or refusal to accept the financial report of an electoral committee – he added.

– As you know, yesterday afternoon the President addressed a letter to me requesting that Prime Minister Netanyahu be provided with safe passage and stay in Poland, in light of the International Criminal Court's decision. I want to state that we have been working for many days on a government resolution that will, on the one hand, guarantee safe stays for all guests interested in participating in the ceremonies at Auschwitz. For obvious reasons, this particularly applies to the representatives of the State of Israel, who, for understandable reasons, are more interested in these ceremonies than anyone else – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– The matter is delicate, of course. We have the ICC's verdict on one hand, and on the other hand, it has been obvious to me from the very beginning that the Prime Minister or President of Israel, or another representative of Israel, should have full rights and a sense of security and safety if they are visiting the Auschwitz concentration camp, especially on its anniversary. And that is why I asked both the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to prepare a resolution and work on it for a few days – he continued.

The resolution states that the government will ensure free and safe access and participation in the commemorations for the highest representatives of the State of Israel.

– The President was likely aware that the government was preparing such steps and, frankly speaking, it was enough to convince him through direct contact – the Prime Minister said.

– Yes, I confirm, whether it is the prime minister, the president, or a minister, as is currently declared for Israel's education [representative], whoever of them comes to Oświęcim for the ceremonies at Auschwitz will have their security ensured and will not be detained – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– Finance Minister Andrzej Domański is analyzing all legal aspects concerning the decision, or rather, the lack of a clear decision from the National Electoral Commission (PKW), with extreme diligence – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– I can say without exaggeration that it was 100 times more than in the case of parties that were previously penalized by the PKW by having their subsidies revoked or reduced. So, regarding the essence of the matter, if we are talking about the aspect of criminal responsibility, we are still discussing an absolutely scandalous situation, which was the abuse of power and public finances by PiS officials – he continued.

– The Finance Minister, in direct contact with me and during the government meeting, received a very clear message from me – according to the law, it is the Finance Minister who makes the decision – the prime minister added.

– On Monday [January 13th], together with Marshal Czarzasty, we will inform you of the final decisions on this matter. The information will be ready early Monday afternoon – Prime Minister Donald Tusk told journalists in the Sejm when asked who would become the Minister of Science.

– Directionally, yes, and on Monday we will publicly confirm them – he continued when asked if decisions had been made.

– There is never enough help. […] When property, a home, an apartment is destroyed, it is understood that there is never enough help, I am aware of that. – Practically everyone eligible to receive this aid has received it. I realize that it’s not enough for, for example, a full renovation, but think about all those in Poland who were also affected, for instance, by much smaller disasters, where the aid was not as massive – he continued.

– Minister Kierwiński has indeed done everything to streamline this procedure – he added.

– I genuinely recall the time when President Lech Kaczyński was one of the first politicians in Europe to firmly demand Ukraine's membership in NATO. This was a consistent paradigm of Polish politics until yesterday – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– Whether it was the left, the right, the center, whether it was Jarosław Kaczyński, or myself, or President Duda, listen, until now no one has questioned that it is in Poland's interest […] to have maximum NATO involvement and open doors for Ukraine – he continued.

– What […] Mr. Nawrocki said is simply… he should really confess, especially to Kaczyński. He should really explain what this very foolish and very dangerous statement is all about – he went on, referring to Karol Nawrocki's statement that “as of today, he does not see Ukraine in the EU or NATO.”

– Some questions contained the premise that I dictate to Minister Domański what he should do in this matter [money for PiS and the PKW resolution], so each subsequent question would suggest that this is indeed the case. Minister Domański makes autonomous decisions in this matter, based on legal regulations, not my imaginings, and it will be the same in this instance – Prime Minister Donald Tusk told journalists in the Sejm.

– Anyone who wants to become the President of the Republic must think about grand projects, major issues, and the matters they will address as a future president. But they also cannot remain indifferent to what is happening today, at the beginning of 2025. I read in the newspapers that Poles are living worse lives. When I do my shopping in stores, whether in Warsaw or in my hometown of Gdańsk, I pay exorbitant prices for butter, orange juice, tomatoes, milk, and apples – stated Karol Nawrocki at a meeting with the residents of Olecko.

– For me, it's all illogical that in the face of war, in the face of COVID, when Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's government was in power, Poles lived better even then, despite these major challenges, and now they are living worse. So where is that money? Why is there such a large, record budget deficit? Is someone not managing the government effectively? – stated Karol Nawrocki at a meeting with residents of Olecko.

– These aspirations, these hopes, and also the middle-income trap we've fallen into economically, including transport connections, especially rail, were meant to be realized by our dream project, the Central Communication Port (CPK), which was supposed to be the engine of the Polish economy for decades to come, making Poland the center of Europe, a transport hub, a logistics hub, building its economic potential – stated Karol Nawrocki at a meeting with residents of Olecko.

– Unlike the Vice-Chairman of Civic Platform (PO), my opponent, I am a proponent of the thesis that for the President of the Republic of Poland, and already for a candidate for the office of President of Poland, it is not enough that the airport is in Berlin – he continued.

– I am going on a long vacation soon, which interests some media outlets. My opponent, the Deputy Chairman of Civic Platform, will probably be on his 7th campaign without a vacation, but it will show the Polish political class how we should behave, and I will conduct this campaign during my vacation – said Karol Nawrocki at a meeting with residents of Olecko.

– I was not and am not for the liquidation of the CBA. Moreover, the CBA's postulates went hand in hand with those of the currently governing party regarding the IPN. So there were postulates for the liquidation of both the CBA and the IPN. I consider both institutions to be necessary for the Polish state – stated Karol Nawrocki at a meeting in Olecko.

– I'm getting lost, ladies and gentlemen, about who my opponent is, the Vice-Chairman of Civic Platform, because every day I wake up, Rafał Trzaskowski is essentially someone different. In the sense that I have the covers [on magazines], that he's Newsweek's 'Green Rafał,' then that he's against the Mercosur agreement. Then that he's training, he's an athlete. – I believe that, considering these special circumstances, Poland has the right to issue precisely this type of stance. The Polish government, and of course, it may happen that Poland will be criticized for this, but it is a weighing of different goods, and the government made one decision or another through a resolution – stated Adam Bodnar on TVP Info.

– What primarily strikes me as very puzzling is why the [PKW] chairman is reacting so quickly, even nervously. I think if this type of very serious letter appears from the Minister of Finance, one should give the members of the PKW a chance to familiarize themselves with it and express their opinion on the matter. The investigation concerns a whole range of entities and individuals who obtained and assisted in obtaining unauthorized funding from the resources of the Justice Fund. – It [Nawrocki's statement about Ukraine, the EU, and NATO] is objectively harmful to Poland, to our national interests. I am astonished that a candidate, of all people a PiS candidate… is saying things harmful to Polish foreign policy, to Poland. This already fits into the Russian narrative – Grzegorz Schetyna said in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24’s “Kropka nad i” (The Dot Over the i).

– This is not the implementation of Kaczyński's policy, this is simply a lack of knowledge and political education that Nawrocki is presenting. He knows nothing about foreign policy – he continued.

– This is the same march to the right, here we will now observe Nawrocki's fight for Mentzen's voters or for the Confederation's voters […] we will witness such statements, only they are simply harmful, the one concerning women's rights – absurd – said Grzegorz Schetyna on TVN24, when asked about Karol Nawrocki's statement that he would not sign a law restoring the abortion compromise.

– He is simply anti-citizen, anti-woman in this case, he is a politician who is completely positioning himself on the margins – he continued.

– We are meeting at a time when there is a very clear media attack on freedom on the internet. […] Brussels, as you can see, is starting this year with an attack on freedom of speech, an attack of censorship – said Mateusz Morawiecki during a broadcast on the X platform.

– In fact, as soon as a platform appeared that bypasses these various left-liberal restrictions – and I mean this very platform, where we are meeting today, the X service and its owner Elon Musk – it turns out that perhaps it is incompatible with the law – he continued.

– One can ask if it is indeed incompatible with the law. I would answer that it is not incompatibility with the law – it is incompatibility with the ideology that the EC professes – he added.

– I am waiting for a response [to Domański's letter] from the other members of the National Electoral Commission (PKW) – said Grzegorz Schetyna on TVN24.

– This is absurd, but I believe that here we must very firmly supervise and I trust, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Minister of Finance will effectively enforce this opinion, the interpretation actually of the PKW, what the PKW meant in its first and second resolutions and what should be derived from this for the Minister of Finance – he continued, referring to the PKW president's inquiry regarding the legal basis for the Minister of Finance's question.

– I am waiting for the National Electoral Commission, in its full composition, to issue an opinion on what the Minister of Finance should do – he further stated.

– First and foremost, I haven’t heard, nobody has heard, that Prime Minister Netanyahu is planning to attend the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz camp in January. This is because the delegated person, the representative of the Israeli government, is the Minister of Education – Grzegorz Schetyna said on TVN24.

– I was astonished that [President Andrzej Duda], instead of settling this matter […] could have simply arranged it with the Prime Minister's Chancellery through his officials. […] He could have asked if Prime Minister Netanyahu was going to Poland, to Oświęcim, but he simply didn’t do that – he continued.

– Such matters are not handled this way, because it harms Poland's image. […] I have a complaint against President Duda for making this an international issue – he went on to say.

– I believe that what Israel is doing to the civilian population, to children, is a terrible crime and it should not happen. But I also believe that every attacked country, and Israel was brutally attacked, has the right to self-defense, in this case against Arabs, terrorists from Hamas – said Mateusz Morawiecki during a broadcast on the X platform.

– As for the fact itself – I believe it is better for the Prime Minister [Benjamin Netanyahu] to simply not come to Poland now – he added.

– Yes, I would return to the abortion compromise – said Mateusz Morawiecki during a broadcast on the X platform.

– We are building – and here I must […] assure all of you – a very efficient group of people who will verify the credibility of these elections and will prevent any kind of fraud. So if this happens [Karol Nawrocki's victory] – and I deeply believe it will – then these 10-11 million people will not let this victory be snatched away – said Mateusz Morawiecki during a broadcast on the X platform.

– I assess the system Tusk has built with very harsh words. It is, in my opinion, a democradura – that is, a dictatorship wrapped in democratic procedures. We still have this or that democratic procedure, but generally, laws that do not suit the Prime Minister are thrown in the bin and disregarded. Court rulings, including those from the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Tribunal, that do not suit [the government] are put into a shredder. This is not a democratic state, this is a state of lawlessness, and this is the state we live in today – said Mateusz Morawiecki during a broadcast on the X platform.

– We have their various sins, mistakes, outrages, frauds, and forceful actions written down on calfskin, from their entry into public television, which was perhaps even noticed [...] by Vice President-elect J. D. Vance several months ago. [...] We will certainly be very loud about this – said Mateusz Morawiecki during a broadcast on the X platform.

– In a few days, I myself am going first to Brussels, for a meeting of the European Conservatives and Reformists. I have a chance to be elected head of this European party there, we'll see – he continued.

– And a few days later [I will go] to President Donald Trump's inauguration. I will certainly discuss all of this with many congressmen and senators whom I meet – he announced.
