Zgorzelski on the Decision Regarding Wieczorek Within Hours:

I Believe in the Wisdom of the Left.

- I believe in the wisdom of the Left. In situations like these, it’s always worth applying a simple saying: ‘if you don’t know how to behave, behave decently.’ The Prime Minister, I understand, along with Chairman Czarzasty, have given themselves a few more days to analyze the entire situation, and in my opinion, a decision will be made within these next few dozen hours – stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TOK FM.

08:07

"No one is hiding it." Zgorzelski on the "difficult coalition"

- We must ensure that the relationships within the coalition, a difficult coalition, no one is hiding it, consisting of 4 committees, and in essence, of almost 10 political parties, are not easy, but we must not whine or grumble, we must move forward, and resignations are and will be. Every politician who enters a ministry must reckon with the fact that they will either leave within the constitutional term or earlier - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TOK FM.

08:08

Błaszczak on the Situation at the National Electoral Commission:

The Problem Lies With the December 13 Coalition's Appointees, Who Break the Law.
- Let's remember 2014, back then it was an exclusively judicial system, it was a bad system [...] then there was a record number of invalid votes - said Mariusz Błaszczak in an interview with Grzegorz Kępka on Polsat News' "Graffiti," when asked about the composition of the National Electoral Commission (PKW), which includes individuals appointed by the parliament. - Judicial-parliamentary systems function in the civilized world, they function, such a system was created, such a system operates in our country today, but the problem lies with the people, the appointees of the December 13 coalition, who break the law - he continued. - The problem is this fighting democracy, the problem is the introduction of Putin-esque standards - he went on to say.

08:14

Zgorzelski on the Timeline for Government's Civil Partnerships Bill:

Then We Can Sit and Talk.

- According to my information, it [the government's bill on civil partnerships] will be ready between February and March, then we can sit and talk about solutions that will make life easier for Poles, for those who currently live in civil partnerships not described by legal norms - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TOK FM.

08:15

Błaszczak:

Next Year's Budget is Entirely Artificial
- The state budget for next year is an entirely artificial budget. Presumably, after the presidential elections, they will say that there is no money and there won't be any, including in the area I've been involved with for years, in the field of defense - said Mariusz Błaszczak on Polsat News.

08:22

Zgorzelski on Hołownia's Candidacy:

We Support Him.

- He believes in it [Szymon Hołownia's belief in victory], we support him, we are a political party that decided to back Szymon Hołownia a few dozen hours ago. Everything is ahead of us - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TOK FM.

08:24

Błaszczak on Romanowski:

We are dealing with a witch hunt against an opposition MP.
- We are dealing with a witch hunt against an opposition MP [Marcin Romanowski] - said Mariusz Błaszczak on Polsat News. - First of all, the statements of politicians who have already passed judgment on the opposition MP are jarring. They have passed judgment, there is no presumption of innocence, they have already judged, they have passed sentence, they have convicted the opposition MP - he continued. - They [the ruling party] are exerting pressure on the court [...] perhaps this judge [...] who issued such a decision, perhaps she fears that if she had issued a different decision, she would not have made a career in the judiciary, perhaps the December 13 coalition would have removed her from the judicial ranks - he went on to say.

08:25

Zgorzelski on Potential Personnel Changes Among Candidates:

I Won’t Say Anything More.

- I have a great imagination, and I also have the impression that the stakes presented today as final, concerning the candidates, might also still undergo personnel changes. I won’t say anything more - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TOK FM.

08:29

Vote of No Confidence in Wieczorek? Błaszczak: We Have a Motion Prepared
- He should leave [...] we have a motion of no confidence prepared [...] we will certainly file such a motion, because we assess negatively what Minister Dariusz Wieczorek is doing or not doing. There are many examples here, I will mention, for instance, that the quantum computer construction program in Poznań was abandoned [...] and above all, the treatment of the whistleblower – said Mariusz Błaszczak in Polsat News, when asked about Dariusz Wieczorek.

08:29

Czarnek to the coalition:

I hope you will defend Wieczorek.
Dear coalition of December 13th, do not be afraid. Let's engage in debate and discuss with arguments. We have them; if you have something to defend, defend it, unless you didn't have them from the start. That would mean you made a mistake from the very beginning, which is what I suspect, but I hope you will defend Minister Wieczorek – stated Przemysław Czarnek on RMF FM.

08:35

Czarnek on the National Electoral Commission (PKW):

These are people who, as of yesterday, have full criminal responsibility.

- With these gentlemen, the five gentlemen from the National Electoral Commission (PKW), the situation is that they see the Supreme Court, they correspond with it, they file a motion to exclude judges from the bench, and then they say that they don't know if it is the Supreme Court. These are people who, as of yesterday, bear full criminal and civil responsibility for burying their heads in the sand like ostriches, like cowards – stated Przemysław Czarnek on RMF FM.

- This is an attack on the Polish state carried out by constitutionalists, including Balicki, by Ryszard Kalisz, 5 members of the PKW, who yesterday buried their heads in the sand and think they are not visible. Your rear is visible, you will bear criminal responsibility – he continued.

08:39

Czarnek:

We Urgently Request Systematic Contributions to Save Political Pluralism
We are very grateful for these 11 million zlotys and we are asking for even larger contributions, because this theft is already visible to the naked eye. We will not receive these funds because the National Electoral Commission (PKW) has ceased to function and refuses to comply with the law or Supreme Court rulings. Therefore, we urgently request systematic contributions to save political pluralism in Poland - stated Przemysław Czarnek on RMF FM.

08:42

Błaszczak on the Current Government:

Every Regime Falls Eventually. Communism Fell Too.
- This is the same level [as Krzysztof Brejza's post stating that Jarosław Kaczyński's 'huffs' about PiS's patience running out 'apparently don't even impress the party leader's cat'], as the head of Donald Tusk's chancellery, who says a fire truck will be donated to the municipality that catches an opposition MP. [...] These are the people ruling Poland today. They feel they are above the law, but every regime falls eventually. Communism fell too - Mariusz Błaszczak said on Polsat News. - Methods, fighting democracy, Donald Tusk, who says he will not abide by the law, who talks about Nuremberg - he continued, when asked if he was comparing Tusk's government to communism.

08:49

Czarnek:

If We Win the Elections in May, This System Will Collapse on Its Own

- We don't need 200 MPs from that side, 23 is enough. If we win the elections in May, and we will win, all indications point to that, this system will simply collapse on its own. We will simply have to bribe them with Poland, with the interests of the Polish state. There are really honest people there, quite a few honest people, who don't want to participate in all of this any further - stated Przemysław Czarnek on RMF FM.

10:51

Hołownia on the PKW Decision:

Potentially Has Consequences for the Presidential Election.
- What happened yesterday with the National Electoral Commission (PKW) is a serious matter. I wouldn't underestimate it. I'm talking here about the PKW's indecisiveness regarding PiS's financial report - said Szymon Hołownia during a live online broadcast. - In my assessment and that of our legal services, this potentially has consequences for the presidential election. We will have to seriously consider which path to take so as not to completely destabilize the state - he indicated. He commented: - Look at how it is: if someone tries to cheat, it always backfires sooner or later. They fiddled with the courts, they fiddled with neo-judges, they fiddled with the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Tribunal, and today it's coming back to bite them. Regardless of who will be president, regardless of what party they belong to, it suddenly turns out that in those places where something should exist in the state, there is nothing. Or what is there is called into question.

Strategic Reserves Agency Announces Butter Sale Tender. "Interventionary Action Should Contribute to Price Stabilization"
- Recently, the price of butter has significantly increased on global markets, primarily due to milk shortages. This situation has also affected Poland. To stabilize the market situation, the Government Strategic Reserves Agency has announced a tender for the sale of large quantities of butter - the Government Information Centre communicated.

- The tender announced by the Government Strategic Reserves Agency concerns the sale of frozen butter in 25 kg blocks. In total, the Agency intends to sell approximately 1000 tons of this product. The minimum selling price for butter is PLN 28.38/kg (excluding VAT). The opening of bids related to the tender will take place on December 19, 2024 - informs the CIR.

- The butter being sold by the Government Strategic Reserves Agency comes from the Agency's food reserves. [...] The interventionary action by the Government Strategic Reserves Agency should contribute to the stabilization of butter prices on the market - reads the communication.

Clear Proof This Is No Civic Candidate.' Pomaska Presents Nawrocki's Letter Regarding Red is Bad
- Yesterday morning, Mr. Karol Nawrocki was explaining his cooperation with Mr. Paweł Sz. and the Red is Bad brand when he was director of the Museum of the Second World War. I must admit, I was quite surprised by these explanations, because Mr. Karol Nawrocki essentially denied awareness of this cooperation with the Red is Bad brand [...] he suggested that it wasn't him, that he had nothing to do with it - Agnieszka Pomaska said at a press conference. - I would like to ask him why he is being so evasive and shifty. Let me remind you that Mr. Paweł Sz. [...] is currently in custody, and further Law and Justice politicians are denying acquaintance with Paweł Sz. And to this group denying cooperation with Paweł Sz., with the Red is Bad brand, Mr. Karol Nawrocki has now joined - she continued. - You have already seen the sales agreement for articles of the Red is Bad brand signed between Karol Nawrocki and Paweł Sz. [...] This is not the end. Well, I conducted correspondence with Mr. Karol Nawrocki regarding this cooperation precisely at that time, in 2018, and Mr. Karol Nawrocki [...] in this letter informs that [...] 'articles produced by the Red is Bad company, referring to beautiful Polish history, patriotism, and the building of national identity, can be purchased in the museum shop' - she went on to say. - I am surprised that Mr. Karol Nawrocki has forgotten all of this today. I am surprised that he pretends this cooperation did not take place or is simply ashamed of it. [...] A question for Karol Nawrocki: why yesterday at the press conference [...] was he being evasive, why didn't he simply admit that he himself promoted and supported the Red is Bad brand? - she added. - Perhaps it was because the Red is Bad brand and company [...] cooperated with individuals associated with Law and Justice, and these letters [...] are clear proof that Mr. Karol Nawrocki is no civic candidate [...] that he comes from the PiS environment, that he is associated with this environment, that he became the director of the Museum of the Second World War, and perhaps later repaid some kind of debt - she emphasized.

13:15

Siemoniak Denies Nawrocki’s Words:

The Services are Apolitical, They Do Not Engage in Campaigns.
- The services do not engage in campaigns or pre-campaigns. I was very surprised by the statement of Mr. Karol Nawrocki, who said that I allegedly said somewhere that a special team had been created to deal with him – Tomasz Siemoniak said at a press conference.

- The services are apolitical, they do not engage in election campaigns – he assured.

13:24

Siemoniak:

Services Will Undoubtedly Find Romanowski
- The services are searching everywhere a person hiding from the Polish justice system might be expected. Polish services, or foreign services cooperating with Polish ones, will undoubtedly find Mr. Romanowski - said Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference. - The court's order is clear and will be executed. Every day spent hiding from the Polish justice system worsens the situation and is demoralizing for public opinion, especially as we are talking about a former Deputy Minister of Justice - he stated. As he said: - The services are acting appropriately. [...] It's not as if a Member of Parliament or a former deputy minister is somehow under surveillance. [...] Some people - in this case, I don't think it will be like this - are searched for for years or even decades. They are always found.

13:34

"For the Skeptical and Doubtful": Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on 4 KPO Transfers

- For the skeptical and doubtful, fans of the KPO, and all Poles, as I promised: 4 transfers from the KPO have just arrived. A total of PLN 40 billion for Poland - wrote Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on social media.

13:40

Siemoniak on government intervention regarding butter:

Strategic reserves are for situations like this.
- Strategic reserves are for situations like this, when for various reasons the prices of butter have risen so much, to act - said Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference. - Here, the Government Strategic Reserve Agency is absolutely performing its statutory duties, and if there is such a need in another area, the agency will act accordingly - he emphasized.

14:25

When Will the Indictment in the Karpiński Case Reach Court? PiS Poses Questions to Bodnar
- Rafał Trzaskowski, under his, one might say, supervision, a gigantic corruption scandal, the garbage scandal, unfolded. His deputy, his right-hand man in the city hall, Włodzimierz Karpiński, faces very serious charges of accepting bribes amounting to 5 million zlotys for rigging tenders for waste management services in Warsaw - said Sebastian Kaleta at a press conference. - For half a year, Mr. Karpiński has not been covered by immunity, and the case, we don't know what's happening with it. Therefore, I encourage Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign team to, firstly, clarify. Rafał Trzaskowski promised that after this great scandal, he would draw conclusions, that there would be an anti-corruption audit in the city hall; silence, perhaps they should deal with that - he continued. - Above all, we met with you today to appeal to Adam Bodnar, the Minister of Justice, the Prosecutor General, and to ask him a question: when will the indictment in the Karpiński case reach court? When will all of Poland be able to see how, according to the prosecution, a corrupt arrangement was created right under Rafał Trzaskowski's nose, from which prominent Civic Platform politicians were allegedly benefiting? - he went on to say. - Half a year has passed since the end of the European Parliament's term, during which Karpiński had immunity for several months. Why has Karpiński not returned to custody? Why are there no arrest warrants against him? Why is there no indictment? Could it be that Adam Bodnar is manipulating the case for Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign? - he added.

16:13

Tusk met with Zelensky in Lviv:

I am very pleased with our conversation.
I am very pleased with our conversation. We talked at length and very frankly about the geopolitical situation, about the front lines, about Polish-Ukrainian friendship, about our relations, but let me say what I started my visit to Lviv with today, because it wasn't an accidental start to the visit to Lviv. I visited an apartment building destroyed during a Russian air raid - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv. We have decided that Poland will help rebuild these apartment buildings. I saw this moving, perhaps improvised, memorial, or rather a place of remembrance for those wonderful people who died during that air raid. Mothers, daughters, I saw destroyed houses, some already being rebuilt, and this short visit once again powerfully showed how senseless, cruel, and brutal Russian aggression is - he continued.

16:26

Tusk Announces Opening of New Border Crossing with Ukraine

- I am glad that despite the war, we can also talk about what is important for the inhabitants of both countries. In a few days, we will be opening a new border crossing, which is an important symbol, not just a symbol, because it will have practical significance, but also a symbol that despite the war, despite the aggression, we are thinking and acting for ordinary people – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv.

16:26

Tusk on Aid to Ukraine:

You Can Count On Us," but "We Can't Give Everything.
- I want to emphasize that Poland, and this applies not only to my government, but Poland, the Polish nation, all governments, those before me, and those that will come after my premiership, will always be very consistent on this matter, and Ukraine and you, dear President, can count on us - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv. - We can't give everything. We are, in a sense, also a frontline state. Poland is increasingly becoming the target of sabotage, diversion, and hybrid actions directed directly against our citizens and our state - he continued. "Our commitment to Ukraine is also the defense of Poland and Europe" - Our commitment to Ukraine is also the defense of Poland and Europe against Russia's hostile actions, which are already aimed not only at Ukraine. In this sense, your fight is part of this great civilizational clash - he further stated.

16:28

Tusk on Ukraine's NATO Membership:

Ukraine Can Always Count on Polish Support in This Matter.

- Poland will soon hold the presidency of the Council of the European Union. Ukraine has always been able to count on Polish support regarding NATO membership. Nothing changes here; if it depended on Poland, it wouldn't take longer than 1 day, but you can count on our diplomacy and our actions here, we will do everything in our power to make the prospect of NATO membership for Ukraine increasingly real – Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in Lviv.

16:29

Tusk:

Poland's Presidency of the Council of the EU Will Make Ukraine's Accession Talks Realistic
I don't need to tell anyone here in Lviv, Kyiv, or Ukraine that Poland's presidency will also mean accelerating and making accession talks [to the EU] realistic. We are your friends; I have been involved in promoting Ukraine's European path for many, many years. You can be sure that with full professionalism, determination, and also with the support of other states, we will work towards making this process realistic and accelerating it – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv.

16:30

Tusk on Waiting for Exhumation Decisions:

History Has Never Been Easy, But It Certainly Won't Divide Us.
- When it comes to historical issues concerning difficult topics, I am pleased that there is this progress, a clear one. People in Poland are waiting for exhumation decisions, but people in Poland also understand the current situation, so we also want to talk about it openly, especially since it turned out there are no formal obstacles - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv. - History has never been easy, but it certainly cannot divide us, it certainly won't divide us. Thank you for your personal understanding too, that there are matters that need to be dealt with, even if they are not the easiest ones - he continued.

16:32

Tusk Appeals to Western Leaders:

Stop Speculating About Ukraine's Potential Defeat.
- A major game for the future of Ukraine, Poland, and Europe awaits us. Allow me to conclude my address with a heartfelt appeal to all leaders of the Western world: Europe, the United States, Canada - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv. - We must all, without exception, support Ukraine at this moment more than ever before, so that the peace we all await, and no one desires peace more than Ukraine, we know this. And in the European Union, no one desires this peace more than Poland, for similar reasons - he continued. - This peace will be possible when it is just. Peace will be just when the entire Western world focuses its efforts on Ukraine. Stop speculating in any capital city of the world about Ukraine's potential defeat. This has nothing to do with the facts - he went on to say. - Ukraine, contrary to some prophecies of doom, is effectively defending itself against Russian aggression, although no one gave Ukraine a chance in the first days of the war [...]. You believed in your own strength, now is the time for the entire West to also believe in its own strength [...] in its ability to convince all actors in this grand game that Ukraine and the entire world deserve a just peace, respect for territory and borders. We cannot hesitate here - he added.

16:34

Tusk on the Most Important Task of the Polish Presidency:

So That No One Falters from the United Front of Support for Ukraine.

- I consider it my most important task on the eve of the Polish presidency to mobilize all member states in the EU, but also NATO members, so that no one falters from this united front of support for Ukraine - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv.

- I would propose that we do not speculate at this time on what will be possible and who will decide what after a peace treaty or armistice. We must all focus on ensuring that any talks on an armistice are conducted not from a position of strength by the Russian side, so that Ukraine can, during these talks or before their commencement, receive the full support of all states hitherto involved in aiding Ukraine - he continued.

16:38

Tusk:

Ukraine Has No Reason to Yield. Moscow Must Reflect.

- In wars, usually someone prevails, someone has to yield. I would very much like, and this viewpoint I will promote in Europe and in NATO, for it to be a common viewpoint for all of us, that Ukraine has no reason to yield. Ukraine is the victim of an attack; it is Moscow that must reflect, and the only way to achieve this is through full and solidary cooperation and support for Ukraine before any potential negotiations occur – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv.

16:38

Tusk:

Russia is trying to interfere in the internal affairs of many European countries. We are witnessing this in Poland too.

- Russia is trying to interfere in the internal affairs of many European countries as well. We are witnessing this in Poland too, and these interventions are sometimes quite brutal, also aimed at dividing Western societies and dividing the countries of the Western community, particularly in the context of the war in Ukraine – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv.

16:41

Tusk on Ideas Regarding Sending NATO Troops to Ukraine:

Those Who Make Such Declarations Should Rethink the Definition of Such a Mission.

- I am convinced that today we must do everything to ensure that the final conditions for future negotiation talks are as good as possible from the perspective of Ukraine's security and the entire European continent. Those who today talk about being ready to send their troops to guarantee the conditions of this peace must very carefully rethink the definition of such a mission – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv.

- I am a staunch supporter, the President mentioned it, of disappointment with false guarantees, this is the Budapest Memorandum directly concerning Ukraine, but in Poland, we still have this memory from decades ago, Poland also once had security guarantees. They turned out to be paper guarantees, we want to avoid such a situation – he continued.

16:47

17 Identified Attacks. Tusk on 'Full-Scale Sabotage in Poland Organized by Russian Services'
- At the time when we decide on further tranches of aid, we must also constantly remember that we have a very long border with Belarus and a fairly long border with Russia to secure. We have constant incidents on the border with Belarus. You know that shots are heard there on the Belarusian-Polish border almost every day - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in Lviv. - We have already identified 17 attacks at this point, such full-scale sabotage in Poland organized by Russian services. I'm not even talking about those aerial incidents anymore - he continued.

16:52

We Need the Finalization of Certain Actions from Some NATO Allies. Tusk's Suggestion on New Equipment for Ukraine

- We are also discussing the possibility of supporting Ukraine, but this requires and I am waiting for these decisions, swift decisions from our NATO partners. Perhaps we will be able to complete our preparations to transfer certain equipment to Ukraine that Ukraine is waiting for, but we need the finalization of certain actions from some NATO allies here - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lviv.

17:57

Gliński on Reporting to the Prosecutor's Office Regarding the PKW Decision:

Breach of the Electoral Code.
- This is a breach of the law, there is nothing to discuss here. The Supreme Court's decision is unambiguous, and according to the Electoral Code, the National Electoral Commission (PKW) should resolve the matter immediately - said Piotr Gliński in an interview with Paweł Pawłowski on Rozmowa PR24. - The report [to the prosecutor's office] will be about a breach of the law, specifically the Electoral Code, which states that when an appeal is handled by the Supreme Court in such and such a manner [...], the PKW should take immediate action - he added.

18:01

Gliński:

We are dealing with anarchy, a crisis of the rule of law and the Polish state
- In Poland, we are essentially dealing with a situation of anarchy, a crisis of the rule of law and the Polish state, when the executive branch, the government, does not recognize the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Tribunal, but also other institutions, such as the very important institution of the National Electoral Commission (PKW), which also does not recognize an institution without which no lawful, democratic country can function, namely the Supreme Court - said Piotr Gliński in an interview with PR24.

20:27

Giertych on Romanowski:

I believe he's in Hungary. We'll wait until he leaves.
- If I were in Mr. Romanowski's shoes, I would already be out of Poland, because regardless of where he might be hiding in Poland [...] he can always be tracked down. Frankly, I believe he is in Hungary, because that is probably the only country whose courts might refuse to extradite him in the event of a request from Polish prosecutors and courts related to a European Arrest Warrant, as Orban has already made such suggestions - said Roman Giertych in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i". - He won't do anything, we'll wait until he leaves Hungary, someday that will happen. I don't think spending his entire life in Hungary is his preferred plan - he continued, when asked what Poland can do if Hungary refuses to extradite Marcin Romanowski.

20:34

Giertych:

I expect the prosecution to finally clarify Ziobro's status
- There is evidence that before PiS left power, computer systems in the ministry were changed, replaced with others, to make it harder to detect the ways in which tenders were falsified - Roman Giertych said on TVN24. - This was an organized crime group, headed by, in my opinion, Zbigniew Ziobro, and frankly, I expect the prosecution to finally clarify the status of Mr. Zbigniew Ziobro. We have an organized crime group, who headed it. According to the information I have as a lawyer handling Tomasz Mraz's case, Zbigniew Ziobro was at the head of this group - he continued.

20:37

Szefernaker on the National Electoral Commission’s decision:

Today the authorities will do everything to prevent Nawrocki from winning these elections.

- I am convinced that today, the actions taken by the authorities, related to the unfounded seizure of PiS funds, may indicate that if the election results are not to the authorities' liking, then Ryszard Kalisz himself is talking about various possible solutions. Today, the authorities will do everything to prevent Karol Nawrocki from winning these elections – stated Paweł Szefernaker on the program “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.

- And Karol Nawrocki will be close to the people, he will be close to people’s issues, he will be a candidate for president for ordinary Poles. A very important declaration, they won’t break us, they won’t break us with such decisions – he added.

20:37

Szefernaker on Government Actions Regarding Butter Price Stabilization:

It's Just Firefighting.

- This is like firefighting. In a situation where one needs to know how to govern, PO, the entire coalition on December 13th, retreated from solutions we had been implementing for years, for example, zero VAT on food; they raised VAT on food, they abolished the shields. The entire system we created to curb inflation has today been abolished, and this idea is solely and exclusively firefighting; it is not governing, it is firefighting – said Paweł Szefernaker on Polsat News.

20:37

Szefernaker:

Government Majority Politically Deprived Opposition's Largest Party of Funds

- There is no provision in the law that would allow the National Election Commission (PKW) not to accept Supreme Court decisions. Previously, the National Election Commission recognized this chamber; in other cases, quite recently, reports for other parties were accepted, but ours was not. This is an unlawful decision because there is no provision in the law that states one can choose whether or not to recognize a given chamber. This is a decision without legal basis – stated Paweł Szefernaker on Polsat News.

- The judges who are currently in the PKW voted to grant these funds to PiS, meaning the most substantive individuals. The government majority, by a political decision, has deprived the largest opposition party, which supports a civic candidate, of these funds, and today the upcoming presidential elections will not be fair elections – he continued.

20:38

Szefernaker on Nawrocki's leave of absence during the campaign:

We expect our opponents to do the same.

- Of course [Nawrocki will take a leave of absence]. We demand and expect other contenders to behave similarly. He clearly stated that once the election campaign formally begins, he will take a leave of absence for its duration. Our opponents have suddenly withdrawn and are now unsure whether they can, cannot, or should take a leave of absence during the campaign, just like Dr. Karol Nawrocki – stated Paweł Szefernaker on Polsat News.

20:38

Giertych:

Romanowski is heading towards not getting out of prison once he's there
- I think that [Marcin Romanowski] is afraid that once he goes to prison, he won't get out, and by running away, he seems to be heading towards not getting out of prison, once he is finally there, unless he tells us the truth about Ziobro, then that would mitigate his sentence a bit – said Roman Giertych on TVN24.

20:39

Szefernaker Names Members of Nawrocki's Campaign Staff:

It's Taking Shape, Largely Based on Young People.

- Certainly, this campaign will be very active in the coming weeks and months. We will visit every county in Poland, we will be close to the people. We will write the program together with the people, with Poles who have a lot of problems today, because of high prices, because the government has deceived people, promising much when they came to power, and delivering nothing – Paweł Szefernaker said on Polsat News.

- Certainly, we will listen to the advice of all those who will help in the campaign, although the staff that is currently taking shape is largely based on young people: Adam Andruszkiewicz, Przemysław Czarnek, Anna Gembicka, Marcin Przydacz, Zbigniew Bogucki – he added.

20:42

Szefernaker on Pomaska's words regarding Nawrocki's agreement:

That's untrue, we will sue in such cases.

- This is of course untrue, I'll say it like this. The first lawsuit against PO MPs was already filed last week. We will analyze all the words of PO MPs who brazenly lie about PiS, about Dr. Karol Nawrocki as a civic candidate, supported by PiS. If these are lies that warrant lawsuits, we will also sue in those cases – said Paweł Szefernaker in Polsat News.

Giertych:

After Winning Elections, Trzaskowski Must Have Voted-On Bills Waiting for His Signature on His Desk
- Today we had a meeting with the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, and we are focusing on what is most important right now, which is the presidential election and the deadline by which we will have a new president - Roman Giertych said on TVN24, when asked about what his team for holding PiS accountable is doing. - This meeting was dedicated to accountability, meaning legal preparations for bills that the new president should receive. [...] As soon as he wins, he must have bills already voted on in the Sejm, already voted on in the Senate, lying on his desk, just waiting for Rafał Trzaskowski to sign them - he continued. - We agreed with the President that in January we will jointly prepare, the Sejm, our team will have a significant role in this area, the Ministry of Justice, as well as the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, if they agree, to undertake such preparations [...] [concerning] the rule of law and the prosecution service - he further stated. - There will be no situation where someone agrees for the prosecution service built by Zbigniew Ziobro to suddenly be labeled as an "independent prosecution service" [...] and all those who were, in fact, PiS's servants, covered up various dirty dealings, did terrible things [...] are now independent prosecutors - he added.

Domański on Subsidies for PiS:

The Situation is Absolutely Clear.

- This is not a matter of discretion, it is a matter of operating based on the law and strictly within its confines. The Minister of Finance implements the resolutions of the National Election Commission (PKW), and here the situation is absolutely clear. The PKW resolution of August 29 indicates the amounts of subsidies that individual committees should receive. We will disburse payments to all electoral committees, to all parties, in accordance with the PKW's decisions - stated Andrzej Domański on TVP Info.

- In the case of PiS, according to the PKW's decision, we will disburse a small portion of the funds that falls due for 2024 - he added.

Giertych on Nawrocki:

He is Empty, He Has No Content.
- Mr. Karol Nawrocki may have a problem, which is that he says nothing. I mean, I haven't heard any of his speeches where he conveyed any message, apart from banalities like 'I am Polish, I love Poland' - Roman Giertych said on TVN24. - What is the problem with the PiS candidate is that he is simply quite empty, meaning he has no content. Duda, despite everything, generated more of these kinds of messages that PiS could somehow disseminate - he continued.

21:04

Giertych:

We Must Tell PiS Clearly: There Is No Money, and There Won't Be
- It seems to me that we must tell PiS clearly: there is no money, and there won't be, because you cheated in the elections. We all know you cheated, you had 10 times more posters than your competitors, you got money from who knows where, so if you cheated, there's no money. The PSL didn't have it once, Nowoczesna didn't have it, so you won't have it either. End of story - said Roman Giertych on TVN24.

21:09

Giertych:

All Supreme Court Judges Nominated According to Procedure Should Validate the Election
- I think all Supreme Court judges should convene and validate or invalidate the presidential election. All judges, those who were nominated according to the procedure recognized by our Constitution - Roman Giertych stated on TVN24. - No, because there is no possibility that Supreme Court judges who were appointed contrary to the Constitution can be recognized as judges. This is a ruling by three chambers of the Supreme Court from three years ago, which clearly stated that such individuals cannot be considered judges - he continued, when asked if this included the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs.

Giertych on Duda's Words:

If You Didn't Want Such an NCK, You Shouldn't Have Voted for Such a Law.
- I'm very sorry, the law on this matter was voted for by Law and Justice, and President Andrzej Duda signed it. If you didn't want to have such an NCK, you shouldn't have voted for such a law [...] they made their bed and now they have to lie in it - said Roman Giertych on TVN24, when asked about the president's words concerning a post-communist hydra in connection with the NCK's decision.

21:13

Domański:

We are not raising taxes

- We are not raising taxes, we are not working on tax increases. Here, Prime Minister Tusk is of course right - stated Andrzej Domański on TVP Info.

Some Call Them Innovative Products. It's Just Nice PR. Domański on Raising Excise Duty
We are considering the possibility of raising excise duty on these types of products precisely for health reasons. Some call them innovative products. That's certainly nice PR, because young people often reach for these, for example, colorful-looking disposable vapes, and we know that this is a path to addiction – stated Andrzej Domański on TVP Info.
