Tomczyk on Romanowski:

In a Way, He Admitted to Everything.

- One could ask: Mr. Romanowski, has anyone seen him, anyone know him. There used to be a program called 997. I think he could become the hero of that program, but the matter is very serious and must be taken very seriously - stated Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

- Because if anyone had any doubts about Mr. Romanowski's case, after he fled and a warrant was issued for his arrest, then in a way, he admitted to everything, because if he had nothing to reproach himself for, he would have stood before the prosecutor, and then before the court, and this dance of escape is not particularly different from Mr. Szopa from "Red is bad" in the Dominican Republic. They are simply fleeing like rats from a sinking ship today, because things are getting very hot around them - he continued.

08:18

Tomczyk:

The Era of Impunity Has Ended Irrevocably

- We will, with full determination – and I say 'we' as the government, as the state – pursue those, not only those who are fleeing, as is evident for obvious reasons, but also those who have something on their conscience. Because it cannot be the case that people who have committed crimes or misused state property for political purposes are unpunished. This era of impunity has certainly ended irrevocably – stated Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

08:26

Tomczyk:

Macierewicz Halted Uniform Purchases for the Military

- I would like to share information that we have obtained over the past days and weeks, and which, incidentally, requires in-depth investigation. The Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) will also be looking into this matter. Antoni Macierewicz, during his two years as head of the Ministry of National Defence (MON), halted the purchase of uniforms for the army, and we reached a level, a de facto uniform supply level of 18% for the Polish Armed Forces (WP), such that if something bad happened in the world in 2016 or 2017, Polish soldiers would have had nothing to fight in, they would have been fighting in tracksuits - stated Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

The Stance of Individuals Appointed Unconstitutionally, Who Are Not Judges. Kalisz on the Supreme Court's Chamber of Control Decision
- This [Chamber of Control of the Supreme Court] is not a court. It is the stance of those individuals who were appointed unconstitutionally to this chamber, and at the same time, this chamber, both by European courts, the Court of Justice of the European Union, and the European Court of Human Rights, but also [...] these judges, based on the resolution of the joint chambers of the Supreme Court from 2020 [...] are simply not judges - said Ryszard Kalisz in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on "Poranek TOK FM". - I am surprised that anyone could have expected this group appointed by the previous government to do anything against that government - he continued.

08:36

Kalisz:

Constitution Doesn't Specify Supreme Court Chamber for Presidential Election Validity
- The Constitution states that the Supreme Court confirms the validity of presidential elections, it does not specify a chamber. Only the Act on the Supreme Court specifies the chamber, which in this provision, at least concerning the establishment of this extraordinary control chamber [...] is unconstitutional - said Ryszard Kalisz on TOK FM. - The Supreme Court has a legal obligation to prepare such a composition of the Supreme Court that will be in line with the Constitution, and this composition will approve the elections - he continued.

08:45

President Replaced by Marshal of the Sejm, Government to Make Necessary Changes. Kalisz on Scenario Where the Supreme Court Declines to Validate Elections
- August 6th marks the end of President Duda's term. The validity of the presidential elections has not been confirmed in accordance with the Constitution. What happens then? The duties of the president are taken over by [...] the Marshal of the Sejm - Ryszard Kalisz said on TOK FM, when asked what would happen if Rafał Trzaskowski wins the presidential elections, but the Supreme Court does not validate them. - The Marshal of the Sejm then acts as president. The fact that Ms. Manowska, the President of the Supreme Court, has not appointed the appropriate composition to validate the elections, constitutes both a constitutional offense and a crime [...]. Appropriate actions are taken at the request of the Marshal - he continued. - There are issues of constitutional responsibility, and there are issues of criminal responsibility. [...] During these three months, the Marshal of the Sejm must [...] ensure that the executive branch, in this case, the president replaced by the Marshal of the Sejm, even though he belongs to the legislative branch, along with the government, makes the necessary changes, including legislative ones, and he signs the laws - he further stated.

Morawiecki as the New Head of European Conservatives and Reformers? "It Could Happen"
- When it comes to the European Conservatives and Reformers party, it could indeed happen. But let's wait a while longer, as no formalities have been decided or signed yet - said Mateusz Morawiecki on Radio Wnet's Morning program, when asked if he would become the head of the European grouping from the new year.

09:38

Morawiecki on the necessity of changes in EU policy:

Otherwise, all citizens will march on Brussels, and then the EU will end.
- We are heading towards a certain kind of utopia, that is certain, in the current shape of the European Union. That is why demands are already being made by very serious political parties for the European Commission to return to being an executive body of the will of member states, rather than a body that conducts EU policy itself - said Mateusz Morawiecki on Poranek Radia Wnet. - My fight with the EC, effective in many areas, has led to the slowing down of numerous processes that were leading the EU to a dead end. […] I mentioned two other major reference points – China and the United States. These are the hard realities of economy, finance, and capital - he continued. As he stated: - The EU will have to find an answer, because otherwise all citizens will march like farmers with tractors in the spring on Brussels, and then the EU will end.

09:55

Morawiecki:

Where are the black screens following Tusk's decision regarding TVN and Polsat?
- Where are the black screens following Tusk's decision to include Polsat and TVN on the list of strategic enterprises? And this despite the fact that media are not included in the act? The current Prime Minister has broken several regulations simultaneously. The media sector is not in the act. However, he makes nothing of it - said Mateusz Morawiecki on Poranek Radia Wnet. - Where are the black screens? Where are the journalists' protests? Where are the editors' protests that we saw a few years ago? It is clearly visible that he was frightened by a change of course from his propaganda mouthpiece. He is defending the salaries of TVN journalists - he continued.

10:01

Morawiecki on TVN:

I Think Trump Will Strongly Dislike Actions Against American Capital,
- I think President Trump will strongly dislike actions against American capital. After all, there is a free market - said Mateusz Morawiecki on Poranek Radia Wnet. - TVN is owned by American capital. American capital decided to sell. It also chose a buyer. I don't even fully know who it is, but it chose such a buyer. Blocking the sale in this way - by administrative means - is an interference in the free market, in the bilateral Polish-American agreement on investment protection - he continued. - I think this will be the subject of a dispute between us and the United States - he stated.

"Just One Year In" vs. "A Bad Year for Poland": KO and PiS Spots Clash

The Civic Coalition (KO) has released a video highlighting its initiatives and decisions during its first year in government. These include state budget financing for in vitro fertilization, free prenatal testing, teacher salary increases, the 'babciowe' (grandparental benefit) program, over-the-counter 'day after' pills, the abolition of health contributions on the sale of fixed assets, the appointment of a 'true Children's Rights Ombudsman,' and unlocking EU recovery funds (KPO).

"It's just one year in. We're not stopping and we continue to work for you every day," says the narrator.

Just over 20 minutes later, the Law and Justice party (PiS) responded with its own spot summarizing the current coalition's year in government. The recording pointed to issues such as state debt, healthcare problems, losses incurred by State Treasury companies, prices in stores, and the halting of strategic investments.

"It's just one year in, and they've already set a record for breaking election promises. It's been a bad year for Poland," said the narrator.

Nitras:

Piesiewicz, in Poor Taste, Seeks to Repay Duda. All at the Expense of a Competent Polish Medallist

- First A. Duda secured a position for R. Piesiewicz. Now Piesiewicz, in poor taste, seeks to repay Duda. All of this is happening at the expense of a competent Polish Olympic medallist who has been consistently building her international position. A woman. Gentlemen, you are playing a dirty game - wrote Sławomir Nitras on social media.

11:51

Wieczorek:

In the Case of Szczecin University, We Are Not Dealing with a Whistleblower
- In our ministry, we operate in accordance with current procedures and applicable law. Consequently, all these documents and letters that are officially issued are, in our assessment, lawful - Dariusz Wieczorek stated at a press conference. The Minister of Science referred to reports by WP concerning the potential disclosure of data of a whistleblower who informed Wieczorek about irregularities at Szczecin University. - In this matter [...] we only received letters signed by the trade union chairwoman and endorsed by the trade union. [...] I will remind you that, according to applicable law, trade union chairpersons are granted statutory protection, meaning such a person cannot be dismissed, precisely so that even when raising all the most difficult issues, this person is not harassed in any way - he continued. - The letters and emails came from the university's official mailboxes, which is also a very important aspect of this. Therefore, when we consider all of this, we are not dealing with a whistleblower in this matter, especially since the whistleblower law has not yet entered into force, because the external whistleblower law only comes into effect in December - he indicated. As he emphasized: - In our assessment, we are not dealing with whistleblowers in this case, especially when we are talking about the trade union chairwoman, who by law can demand all explanations regarding the rector and the university authorities.

11:54

Wieczorek:

We Acted Entirely Within Union Rules, We Didn't Sweep the Matter Under the Rug
- In this matter, we naturally initiated an explanatory procedure and sent letters requesting clarification to the authorities of the [Szczecin] University. Therefore, we acted entirely within union rules, meaning we did not sweep this matter under the rug - Dariusz Wieczorek said at a press conference. - It is also a lie that the letter from the chairperson was forwarded by us. There are documents showing that, regarding the information and questions contained in that letter, we informed [the relevant parties] in accordance with applicable law, because that is what we do in every case. If we receive a letter from the chairpersons of trade unions from any university, we forward it for clarification, requesting that the rectors provide us with these explanations - he continued.

13:56

Morawiecki Criticizes Government for Unfulfilled Promises:

People, See How They Fooled You.

- A year has indeed passed, and it has been a very bad year for the Polish economy, Polish society, the budget, and Polish investments. I would like to discuss several of the most important issues, one by one. It is clearly visible, as if through a lens or a mirror, what the government's priorities are, or rather, what priorities are lacking. It is evident how they fail to manage public finances. It is also clear what vision Poland has, or rather, what vision it lacks. There is simply no strategy that would lead our economy towards rapid economic development, the kind that meets the aspirations of Polish society – stated Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

- But let's ask what Poles have in this budget presented for the next year. Well, there are no fulfilled promises there, there is no tax-free amount of PLN 60,000, there are no student housing units for a zloty, there is no zero VAT on public transport. Perhaps let's ask if Lewica was able to push through its program of 300,000 municipal apartments. Well, that program is also absent – he continued.

- People, see how they fooled you. See that none of these promises are in the budget with the largest historical budget deficit; they are simply not there. Instead, there is accelerated state indebtedness. In just 2 years, the debt will increase by 10 percentage points. Over half a trillion zlotys – that is a monstrous budget deficit – added the former prime minister.

13:59

Morawiecki:

Lidl and Biedronka Will No Longer Be Able to Boast the Cheapest Products

- A shopping basket in Biedronka and Lidl, I don't know, perhaps Lidl and Biedronka will be able to sue this government, because until now they could boast that they had the cheapest products. Well, now they won't be able to boast that they have the cheapest products, because these products have gone up - stated Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

14:15

Błaszczak:

Defense Spending to Fall Below 4% of GDP
- Security is a field that I have been dealing with over the past years, and here I want to strongly emphasize that, contrary to government propaganda, there are many omissions in this area, and there are also many arguments indicating that the government of the December 13th coalition is incapable of governing - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. - Let's start with the budget of the Ministry of National Defence for 2024. We are certain that it will not be fully utilized. We are certain that out of the amount guaranteed in the budget and the Armed Forces Support Fund, exceeding 4% of GDP, this amount will not be realized. Spending will fall below 4% of GDP - he continued.

14:39

It's December 13th. Times change, the methods of power remain the same. Morawiecki on prosecuting Romanowski
- Today marks a characteristic date: December 13th. Times change, but the methods of the authorities, as I see it, remain the same. Prosecuting political opponents, destroying the possibilities of implementing their programs, striking at democracy - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference, when asked if he knew where Marcin Romanowski was and if evading court appearances was a good method.

15:07

Sikorski:

During Presidency, Poland Will Prevent Return to "Business as Usual" with Russia and Belarus
- We have a rich presidency program, which is taking place in an extremely complicated international situation. Ukraine, suddenly growing geopolitical tensions, the crisis in the Middle East – so it's obvious that the motto of our presidency is "security, Europe" – said Radosław Sikorski at a press conference. - For this reason, the presidency's work [...] will focus on maximizing support for Ukraine, maintaining the current policy towards Russia and Belarus, and strengthening the EU's security and resilience. In pursuing the presidency's priorities, we will cooperate closely with the new EU authorities, including especially the High Representative [for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas], but also with the Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius – he said. - The goal of the presidency will be to strengthen EU sanctions against the aggressors: Russia and Belarus, and to combat their circumvention. [...] We will strive to gain the support of member states for the full utilization of the frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia for the support of Ukraine. We will prevent a return to "business as usual" with Russia and Belarus until the aggression ceases – he conveyed.

15:10

Sikorski on the Presidency:

We Want to Build a Europe Capable of Facing Security Threats.
- Together with the member states and the European Commission, we want to build a Europe capable of facing security threats, primarily originating from the East, also in terms of ensuring adequate industrial production for the defense sector. Our goal will be to strive to utilize EU support instruments for creating defense infrastructure, such as the East Shield - said Radosław Sikorski at a press conference.

15:11

Trzaskowski at the Ceremony Commemorating the Imposition of Martial Law:

We Must Remember How Many People Gave Their Lives So We Could Live in a Free Country.

- Today our thoughts are with all the victims of martial law, with all the victims of communism. We remember all the time and we will always remember, because this is a history lesson that must always stay with us, from which we must draw conclusions, that many people gave their lives so that we could live in a democratic country today – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at the ceremony of laying flowers at the plaque commemorating Grzegorz Przemyk.

15:12

Wałęsa Officially Endorses Trzaskowski:

There's No Doubt He's the Best Candidate.
"There's no doubt whatsoever, that for today, he is the best candidate. Anyone who wants to return to that respect, to those victories, should choose Mr. [Trzaskowski] as president. I will do everything in my power to explain this to people, to show them, and I hope effectively” – stated Lech Wałęsa during a ceremony of laying flowers at the plaque commemorating Grzegorz Przemyk.

15:16

Sikorski on Presidency Goals:

Cementing Poland's Position as One of the EU's Five Most Important Countries.
- We want to use the presidency period to strengthen our position as one of the most important, most active member states of the EU, to cement Poland's position as a member of the B5 – one of the five most important countries in the Union – said Radosław Sikorski at a press conference.

15:21

Sikorski on Duda’s recommendation to the IOC:

When it comes to skiing, our president has all the qualifications.
- Very positively. When it comes to skiing or even the ability to provide first aid on the slopes, it seems to me that our president has all the qualifications - Radosław Sikorski said at a press conference, when asked how he reacted to the Polish Olympic Committee’s decision regarding President Andrzej Duda’s recommendation to become a member of the International Olympic Committee.

15:31

Bodnar Summarizes a Year of Actions at the Ministry of Justice:

We Didn't Waste a Single Day to Make Poland a Law-Abiding State.

- I expected it to be a very difficult, very intense year. A year with many obstacles, with this minefield that, I would say, the government, my ministry, and the prosecution service are navigating essentially every day. I believe we haven't lost a single day in making Poland a better state, more citizen-friendly, a law-abiding state, a state where politicians are also held accountable for their abuses – stated Adam Bodnar in Brussels.

Bodnar: I Will Be Fully Satisfied When All State Organs Cooperate Towards Protecting the Rule of Law

- However, I will be satisfied when there is cooperation among all state organs in the direction of protecting the rule of law, when all state organs respect the requirements of the Constitution, European Union law, and the European Convention on Human Rights. I also have the impression that we are in the process of making a change. I will use this slogan: this is just the first year – he continued.

15:32

"They are and will be treated with the full severity of the law." Tusk on "idiotic attacks with fire extinguishers and dousing historical monuments with paint"
Idiotic attacks with fire extinguishers or equally idiotic dousing of historical monuments with paint are and will be treated with the full severity of the law. Roadblockades, according to the European Court of Human Rights(!), violate the rights of other citizens and can be treated as a crime. It's worth knowing - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

16:21

Many Heroes Live in Modesty, While SB Officials Have Their Privileges Restored. Nawrocki at an Award Ceremony for PRL-Era Oppositionists
Some of you were imprisoned by the communists in the 1980s and arrested, but there were also those imprisoned for their attachment to freedom in the 21st century by democrats. This, dear sirs and madams, shows how relevant your history is and how relevant the commitment of all of us – the Institute of National Remembrance, our national community of states, and the entire Republic – is – stated Karol Nawrocki at the ceremony for awarding the Cross of Freedom and Solidarity to former activists of the independence opposition from the years 1956–1989. Nawrocki: Today, many of the heroes of our freedom live in modesty, while in Poland, pension privileges are being restored to SB officials - In the wisest book in the world, it is written: "If my people, over whom my name is invoked, humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." The people have not yet humbled themselves, dear sirs and madams, because I say this today, in the year 2024, at a time when many of you, the heroes of our freedom, live in modesty, while in Poland, pension privileges are being restored to officials of the Security Service (SB) – he continued.

17:56

Poland Can Be a Regional Powerhouse, But It Requires the Willpower to Do So. Morawiecki on the Current Coalition's Lack of Development Aspirations

- Poland is undergoing a mental transformation. A transformation that allows young people to think truly boldly, to reach high, to look far, and you know what, this is a very good sign. This is a very good sign because Poland has a chance to rise to a position that our ancestors have dreamed of for the last few hundred years, I'm not exaggerating, if not for the entire history of our nation. Poland can be a regional powerhouse, but there is one, the first, fundamental condition for this. This first, fundamental condition is that one must want it – stated Mateusz Morawiecki during a debate on Poland's future in the EU.

- I see that today, on the anniversary of this government, we unfortunately have a state that has forgotten about these aspirations, and the symbol of this is unfortunately the Central Communication Port – he added.

17:56

Morawiecki:

We Must Achieve Reindustrialization in Poland, Strengthen Polish Trade and Industry

- In the EU, others very often try to outmaneuver us; unfortunately, that is the reality there. Today, by building further floors in the edifice of Polish capitalism, the Polish economic system, we must strengthen Polish trade and Polish industry. We must achieve reindustrialization in Poland, and remember, no one will ever do this against the will of Poles – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a debate on the future of Poland in the EU.

17:57

Morawiecki:

Poland Has a Chance to Become the World's 15th Economy in the Fourth Decade of the 21st Century

- I believe that such a future is possible, that we can develop rapidly, that with determination we can achieve further goals, that this fourth decade of the 21st century can be ours, Poland's decade. We have a chance to be the 15th economy in the world, but we must properly arrange all elements of the entire system – said Mateusz Morawiecki during a debate on the future of Poland in the EU.

17:57

Morawiecki:

Today, the Primary Principle of Trade Will Be Smart Protectionism

- All of us, myself included, have grown up over the last 30, 40 years under the banner of free trade. Today, that is the name of the game. Today, the primary, new principle will be smart protectionism. In a moment, Donald Trump's second administration will hit China, will hit Europe with new rules; we need to understand them well, just like Representative Dominik Tarczyński, who is on the trade committee; we are counting on you, Dominik – stated Mateusz Morawiecki during a debate on the future of Poland in the EU.

18:25

Obajtek on organizing the debate:

I don't blame the Rector of UR, but he could have had the civil courage to tell me if they were pressuring him.

- I wanted to apologize to you at the beginning. We would have had a completely different hall, I wanted to do it at the university, why? Because I believe that a university is a place where different views clash, a university is a universal place, and views from the left, right, and center-right can clash there. Just as they always have, after all, recently Prime Minister Donald Tusk or Mr. Trzaskowski were present at this university, and no one made any remarks about it – stated Daniel Obajtek at the debate on the future of Poland in the EU.

- You can't do it this way, closing the door on us on the last day, before a right-wing movement in Europe, ECR, the fourth political force in the EU, and I'll say one thing. I don't blame the Rector, but I'll say one thing, Mr. Rector, if you were pressured, you could have had the civil courage to call me and say: Mr. Daniel, I can't, because they won't give me funding, I wouldn't have said a word, I would have done it elsewhere – he continued.

18:25

Obajtek:

Europe Must Change Direction, Compete with America and China, Not Itself

- We should compete with each other, but on equal terms, and Europe must change direction. It cannot compete with itself and with other states; it must compete with America, with China, with others. For this to happen, changes in regulations and a different approach to business and economy are needed – Polish, European, and any economy. Otherwise, we will lose this competition, we will lose the future of Poles and the future of Europe – said Daniel Obajtek during a debate on the future of Poland in the EU.

18:36

Tarczyński Questions TVN Journalist:

How to Show That PiS is Cringey, That They're 'Mohair Berets'?

- Today is December 13th, a special date in Poland's history, and once again they are trying to forbid us something, to prevent it, and if they can't, to mock it. Is anyone from Gazeta Wyborcza here? They won't admit it. And from TVN? You are brave, absolutely. Welcome TVN. And now I would like to ask, how to show that there were no people here, that PiS is cringey, that they are 'mohair berets', when there are young people here, how will you do this? I wonder, I will be watching – stated Dominik Tarczyński during a debate on the future of Poland in the EU.

19:00

Morawiecki asked about becoming head of the ECR:

I'll be there 88% sure.
At a debate titled "Youth for Europe," organized by MEPs Daniel Obajtek and Dominik Tarczyński, a question was posed to former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Could you potentially become the head of the European Conservatives and Reformers? - I'll be there 88% sure - responded Mateusz Morawiecki.

19:01

Obajtek:

Dear TVN, don't create illusions, just show the truth, and you'll feel safe

- I would be an unserious person if I spoke about business loudly. It seemed to me that some of these people at that station, because there are good people working there too, have bigger nerves, they are so shaken that it's a tragedy, to be honest, out of fear they even ask the national prosecutor, the usurper, when he will finally lock up Obajtek – stated Daniel Obajtek during a debate on the future of Poland in the EU.

- Dear TVN, work peacefully, comment on what is really happening, don't pursue your policy of infecting people, don't create your own policy, just comment, don't create illusions for people, just show the truth and then you will feel safe – he added.

19:07

Hołownia on a Year in Government:

Many things have been achieved, but there are also many that haven’t been done.
- Today marks the anniversary of the government. […] Today, many ministers are summing up this year. Many things have been achieved. I can list them in the areas for which we are responsible: in climate, in various other places where we are, in European funds - said Szymon Hołownia in Pabianice.

- Many processes have been initiated, many laws have been passed, they will only come into effect. As Marshal, I can say that half of the laws from the government that we passed last year were passed in the last two months, so they are only now entering circulation - he explained.

- Could it have been done earlier? Probably it could have been done earlier. But it’s good that the things that were done have been done. However, there are many that haven’t been done - he admitted.

- We still have three years to do them and fulfill the promises that were made - he stated.

19:21

Hołownia:

Does Society Want a Four-Day Work Week Today? In My Opinion - No
- Does society want a four-day work week today? In my opinion - no. [...] I have the impression that Poles do not want to work for four days. They want to earn more for the work they do over five days. To have a fair relationship with the state, which does not rob them through the Polish Deal or other things, but to earn honestly - said Szymon Hołownia in Pabianice. - We are still building our wealth, we want to earn well for the work we do, not have a four-day week now... Maybe other economies have that. I don't feel that wave, which is why I don't see such a bill in the Sejm. I see commentary, Lewica is speaking very strongly, but does this idea resonate exceptionally well? - he asked. As he stated: - If there were such a bill, I would have doubts. Only if I were president, and this bill were passed by the Sejm, I would still do that extra lap that I am doing now in the Sejm. [...] Social consultations - this is a revolution, the possibility of citizens consulting parliamentary projects.

19:26

Hołownia:

Before Signing Major Legislation, I Want to Hold Citizen Hearings
- Before signing major legislation, not some technical amendments, but important laws, I would like to do one more round, something along the lines of the citizen hearings that are held in the Sejm. To ask both sides before I weigh it up - said Szymon Hołownia in Pabianice.

19:40

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on Hołownia and the Presidential Election:

He is the Best Candidate.
- In my opinion, [Szymon Hołownia] is the best candidate, and I would very much like him to win this election - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News. - For my part, I will do everything possible for him to win this election - she continued.

19:48

Hołownia Criticizes Slow Pace of PiS Accountability: "The Problem Lies Somewhere in the Prosecutor's Office"
- They most likely swindled, I'm talking about the PiS milieu, billions of zlotys. After all, they devastated the state to such a level that one cannot even imagine it happening in the last 35 years, that it could have been worse. Where are these requests [for immunity waivers]? And even if there were individual requests that we had a chance to vote on - where are the indictments? They don't exist - said Szymon Hołownia in Pabianice. - How much longer will we wait for this? Professor Bodnar says: 'but we have already done it, it's already underway'. Yes, the machine is turning, he is doing the work, but in my - and not only my - feeling, this work is going too slowly - he assessed. According to Hołownia: - The problem is not in Minister Bodnar's determination. The problem, I think, lies somewhere in the prosecutor's office, which is unable to hold these people accountable for the things they did. Because they should be held accountable.

19:49

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

We Have Contracted Over 35% of Grant Funds from the KPO at This Moment
- At this moment, from the grant portion, because that is what must be settled by '26, the loan portion is different, we have already contracted over 35%, which is well over 1/3, for a year, because in a moment it will be a year since the KPO implementation - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in Polsat News, when asked what percentage of KPO funds we will be able to utilize. - Over the course of this year, we have submitted three applications, and by the end of the year, it is truly my ambition, to send a fourth and fifth application - she continued. "We are to invest KPO funds, not spend them" - I cannot say at this moment how much exactly we will manage to invest, especially since it is not only a quantitative but also a qualitative issue. Firstly, we are racing against time, because there are two years of delay, and secondly, we are to invest these funds, not spend them, and invest them according to our conviction about what is good for us and what is bad for us - she continued.

Social Security Contributions for Civil Law Contracts? Pełczyńska-Nałęcz: The Prime Minister Stated It's Not a Good Reform
- There are reforms that we consider great, that move forward, and there are reforms that we found in the KPO (National Recovery Plan) and by the Prime Minister's decision will not be implemented because the Prime Minister stated that it is not a good reform for the labor market, as I understand it, Mr. Editor, you are referring to the reform of mandatory social security contributions for contracts - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on Polsat News. - If it is the decision of the Prime Minister of a democratically elected government that such a reform will not take place, then I simply present it in Brussels as a given fact - she continued.

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

We Don't Gulp Down Everything Brussels Tells Us Like Pelicans
- Let's not frame these relations as someone interfering in our affairs here. We are part of this community, it benefits us, we co-create this law [...] The KPO is also an element of common principles that we have established together - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on Polsat News. - These principles include, among others, that if we change a reform, we discuss it in Brussels. All countries are like that, but it doesn't mean we swallow everything Brussels tells us, colloquially speaking, like pelicans, no, we have assertive discussions - she continued.

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the Wieczorek Case:

Let Every Minister and Every Party Consider What the Consequences Should Be.
- I would look at it more from the perspective of the matter itself, because it is not my role to comment on other ministers, especially on matters of whether they should be there or not - Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz told Polsat News, when asked about Dariusz Wieczorek. - If a signal of some serious irregularities comes from a supervised institution, the most important thing is to deal with the irregularities [...] and not with the revelations of the people who point out these irregularities - she continued. - Unfortunately, this did not happen, and I regret it very much - she added. - Let every minister and every party within the coalition consider what happened and what the consequences should be - she concluded.

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the Activities of Ostatnie Pokolenie:

Protests that Harm Other People Are Unacceptable.
- Environmental protection is very important. [...] However, protests of this type, which harm other people, their normal lives, their comfort of living, are in my opinion unacceptable - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in Polsat News, when asked if she was rooting for Ostatnie Pokolenie. - We are in a democratic country and of course, one can protest, but there is a certain limit to protest that infringes upon the rights of other fellow citizens, and then it is already unacceptable - she continued.

Trzaskowski on Fulfilling Promises:

We Would Definitely Like to See an Acceleration.

- We would definitely all like to see an acceleration, a faster fulfillment of promises. Less internal coalition talks, because today effectiveness is what matters most - stated Rafał Trzaskowski on TVP Info.

- Admittedly, the government has managed to do a lot, and for me, most importantly – unlocking huge funds from the EU, the program of free nurseries for all Poles, salary increases in education, and finally a new system of financing local governments. All of this is very important to us, but we would all like to see these changes happen even faster - he continued.

Trzaskowski:

I am disappointed with the pace of accountability

- I am disappointed with the pace of change, I am disappointed with the pace of accountability, but if PiS politicians are hiding from the prosecution and arrest warrants have to be issued for them, then something is unbelievable, an unprecedented event in Polish history, that's how it looks. And above all, we want to avoid any suspicion that this is about revenge - stated Rafał Trzaskowski on TVP Info.

Wysocka-Schnepf Opens Interview with Question About Adamczyk, Trzaskowski: First I'm Hearing Of It

I'll start with a campaign-related question. How did you receive the news, Mr. President, that money from Michał Adamczyk, the former presenter of the propaganda "Wiadomości" [News], will be funding your election campaign? - Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf asked on TVP Info.

- This is the first I'm hearing of it. However, we are in Trzebownisko near Rzeszów, at a company that produces fiberglass, necessary for fiber optics, thanks to which you are watching us, and which is one of the most innovative companies in Poland. It is precisely such companies that we should be promoting - replied Rafał Trzaskowski.

The first municipality to catch Romanowski will receive a fire truck

Trzaskowski on Nawrocki:

It's Natural for Those Ratings to Go Up.

- Karol Nawrocki was not known to Polish women and men, and indeed at the moment he entered this election campaign, his ratings were much lower than those of PiS, so it is natural for those ratings to go up. I said from the very beginning that in the second round it would be very close, that the differences would be really small - stated Rafał Trzaskowski on TVP Info.

Wysocka-Schnepf to Trzaskowski: It's Clear Nawrocki is Trying to Expand PiS's Electorate to Include Men from Stadiums and Gyms

- Do you think he will succeed in what is clearly visible in the campaign, expanding the PiS electorate to include men from stadiums, from gyms. It is clearly visible that he is striving for this. And will you succeed in response by expanding the electorate of women, who after a year of KO rule may be disappointed with what has been achieved, or rather, what has not been achieved? - Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf asked on TVP Info.

- I am ready to talk to absolutely everyone and to discuss what truly interests Poles, about security, about the economy. I believe that today it is better to talk with the President of France, to seek our interests in Brussels and to firmly state the case for our economy, to talk with Polish men and women in workplaces like this one, who work hard for our prosperity, rather than flexing muscles at the gym. Because that can be done and running can be done after working hours - replied Rafał Trzaskowski.

Duda:

Public Television's Absence Marks Sad Times; Nawrocki: Long Live Poland, Down with Communism!

– Thank you to the free media for coming. (...) The fact that public television is not with us today, for the first time in my presidency, is a peculiar sign of sad times. Representatives of the current government are also those who demanded the reinstatement of pensions for former secret police officers, stakeholders in the communist system of repression – said President Andrzej Duda.

- This is the 43rd anniversary of national betrayal. (...) It was the suppression of a social explosion of the desire for freedom – said the president. - We meet here today to commemorate the victims of martial law. We remember the miners from the Wujek mine and all others who also gave their lives in subsequent years – he continued. A moment later, the President of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) and presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki took the floor. He stated that "we will not allow the responsibility for national truth to be extinguished". Concluding his speech on Piłsudski Square, Nawrocki shouted: "Long live Poland, down with communism!".
