Wednesday marks the final day of the Sejm's session, which began last week. At 9:00 AM, procedural votes will take place. At 4:45 PM, the second reading of a parliamentary draft act on days off work is scheduled. This concerns a project establishing December 24th (Christmas Eve) as a day off work. Trzaskowski:

This is a Law and Justice man – with all the consequences. Scandalous words denying people he disagrees with the 'Polish gene'
This is a Law and Justice man – with all the consequences. Who was pointed out by the party leader

"This is a Law and Justice man – with all the consequences. Who was pointed out by the party leader. Who is celebrated and supported by top party dignitaries. Who perceives Poland the same way they do. Who divides Poles into better and worse, as evidenced by his recent scandalous words denying people he disagrees with the 'Polish gene'. And the entire political-propaganda machine of the party will stand behind him. Let's have no doubts about that" – Rafał Trzaskowski wrote on X.

No, not even the most optimistic polls can obscure the fact that we have a tough, multi-month battle ahead of us for the vision of Poland.

"Therefore, no, not even the most optimistic polls can obscure the fact that we have a tough, multi-month battle ahead of us for the vision of Poland. About whether we will build a Republic for all citizens, or perhaps a state only for those whom Mr. Kaczyński and his candidate consider the 'better sort' possessing the 'Polish gene' – Trzaskowski continues.

A multi-month, brutal clash lies ahead. And we should expect the dirtiest tricks from the competition.

"And I intend to build this campaign together with you. To respond to everyday concerns. To talk, listen, share observations – because every person counts. In the coming days, we will meet on this common path. At the same time, I know that a multi-month, brutal clash lies ahead. And we should expect the dirtiest tricks from the competition. But I am ready for this fight. And I will not give up." – concludes the KO candidate for president.

Trzaskowski's Morning Visit to a Bakery:

Taxes Shouldn't Change Constantly.

- The state should do absolutely everything to help our small and medium-sized enterprises. PiS changed taxes so many times, introduced new burdens, that it was difficult to keep track. Unfortunately, this had a very negative impact on entrepreneurs, and today the most important thing is to talk about the economy, about what builds our economic growth – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a bakery in Jawczyce.

- How to stimulate it [our economy] for development, what are the most important pains of our entrepreneurs. We discussed this with Ms. Zuzanna and Mr. Grzegorz, about issues concerning the lack of labor and how to conduct sensible migration policy, which is, of course, tough towards illegal immigration, but takes into account the needs of our entrepreneurs – said the Mayor of Warsaw.

- Here our entrepreneurs have specific demands regarding tax policy, which should above all be clear and unambiguous. Taxes shouldn't change constantly and there should be a clear interpretation of their application. We also talked about this, about the speed of issuing environmental decisions and many other issues concerning entrepreneurs – he continued.

08:28

Trzaskowski:

We All Wish Electoral Promises Were Fulfilled Faster

- Of course, we all wish these [electoral] promises were fulfilled faster, which is why an active president is needed, one who will cooperate with the government, stimulate, and inspire the government to act - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a bakery in Jawczyce.

- Generally speaking, I assess this year very positively, but we are all a bit impatient with the pace of change. This also stems from the fact that we have a coalition government, and a coalition government governs by its own rules. Not everything always goes as smoothly as it should - he continued.

08:29

Trzaskowski:

I Won't Argue with Every Malice from Nawrocki

- As usual, Mr. Karol Nawrocki is once again straying from the truth, because I said that this decision was made for the future. I wonder if Mr. Karol would want to finance businessmen like Father Rydzyk with hundreds of millions of zlotys from the state budget? Let's leave the malice aside, let's focus on what's most important - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a bakery in Jawczyce.

- I do not intend to engage in polemics with every piece of malice from Karol Nawrocki; I intend to focus on talking with Poles, because today the most important thing is to set the tone for this campaign. This campaign will be about what Polish families are discussing, not about what PiS campaign strategists come up with - said the Mayor of Warsaw.

08:31

"Nothing is decided yet." Trzaskowski on the second round being "very close"

- This campaign will probably be the most brutal campaign in the history of the Republic, because we know that PiS and its candidate will unleash all their guns in their propaganda war and lies. I assume it will be very, very close in the second round, every vote will count, and we will have to fight until the very end. Nothing is decided yet. This campaign will certainly be difficult – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a bakery in Jawczyce.

08:41

Czarnek on Agreement for Exhumations:

We Don't Need Confirmation of Something That Doesn't Exist. We Need Positive Consideration of IPN's Applications.
- It was never possible to carry out these full-scale exhumations, not just since 2017. We are pleased that the new Minister of Foreign Affairs [of Ukraine] is making such a declaration, but what does it confirm? I'm checking - said Przemysław Czarnek in an interview with Renata Grochal on "Bez Uników" on Trójka, when asked about the confirmation by the head of the Ukrainian MFA that there are no obstacles to the exhumation of victims of the Volhynia massacre. - Does this mean that all applications submitted by the Institute of National Remembrance to the relevant Ukrainian administrative bodies for exhumations in specific locations where our compatriots were brutally murdered by Ukrainians from OUN-UPA have been positively considered? - he continued. - Because if the minister intends only to say that he is confirming something that is not true, as Ukraine has so far been unwilling to conduct any exhumations, then confirmation gives us nothing. [...] We don't need confirmation of something that doesn't exist. We need consent and positive consideration of the IPN's applications - he went on to say.

08:45

Czarnek:

My and colleagues' ratings are no worse than Nawrocki's, but research showed people need a non-partisan candidate
- Our research indicated that while our ratings, I'm speaking about myself and a few other colleagues who were considered as potential candidates, our ratings are no worse than Karol Nawrocki's, our research also showed that people need calm and normalcy and they need a completely non-partisan candidate - said Przemysław Czarnek on Trójka.

09:04

Nawrocki:

If the CPK Bill is Rejected in the First Reading, it Will Be My First Legislative Initiative as President
- The Central Communication Port is such a real dream; it can not only, in its original formula, ensure that Poland wins economic competition in the future, that Poland will have the largest airport in this part of Europe, but [...] it offers symbolic, as well as real, tangible opportunities to connect central Poland with local Poland - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference. - I stand before you today as a civic candidate for the President of the Republic of Poland, to stand up for and to support the civic bill on the Central Communication Port [...]. I appeal from this place to all politicians [...] to all parliamentary clubs, not to reject, especially in the first reading [...] this civic bill - he continued. - I want to clearly declare [...] if the civic bill is rejected today in the first reading, then this project will become my first legislative initiative as your future president - he went on to say.

09:12

Tusk:

The Era of Fear and Uncertainty Towards Russia Must End

- The most important political task, but also in a sense a psychological one for all of Europe today, where Poland can and will play a key role, is to awaken European ambitions. There is no reason why Europe as a whole, the EU, the European part of NATO, should have complexes towards anyone. Today, we are unable to predict, no one is able to predict, how American policy will evolve in the coming months – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a press statement.

- Our task is to nurture relations with the USA, but Europe, one way or another, must become independent, stand on its own feet, and the era of fear and uncertainty towards Russia must truly end. If Europe is united, then Russia is a technological, financial, and economic dwarf compared to Europe. If Europe is divided, Russia poses a threat to every European country individually, and this awareness must finally reach the minds of leaders across Europe – PDT continued speaking.

- There is no reason for us to think about the challenge that Russian policy represents in a timid, fearful way, and I am glad that my interlocutors today share, all indications suggest, this point of view, and we must also awaken economically – emphasized the head of government.

09:16

Tusk:

European Energy Cannot Be Two to Three Times More Expensive Than in the US or China
The European economy must once again become a powerhouse, a powerhouse of growth that is not afraid of competition. We have incomparable potential, practically unmatched anywhere else in the world, but it remains just potential – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a press briefing. - It can once again become a global leader, but at the moment, due to limitations, excessive regulations, and sometimes naive ambitions regarding the protection of the entire planet, we are becoming less and less competitive, and we must start with energy prices. Energy in Europe cannot be two to three times more expensive than energy in the US or China. We stand no chance then – he continued.

09:18

Tusk:

Today, the most effective protection of Polish and European borders is support for Ukraine
We must finally say this loudly and clearly. Today, the most effective protection of Polish and European borders is support for Ukraine. There is no need to love Ukraine, no need for grand words about solidarity or reconciliation. A calculated, cool assessment of Poland's and all of Europe's interests is enough to want to continue supporting Ukraine - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a press statement.

09:31

Tomczyk Cites Trzaskowski's Words from Aleksandrów Łódzki:

I Will Defend Catholics If They Need My Protection.

- One sentence was spoken in Aleksandrów Łódzki. There was a question regarding conservatism, regarding his views, and Rafał Trzaskowski said something to the effect that he was taught in life, his parents taught him, that he must stand by the weaker. If it so happens that, for example, Catholics in Poland are in a situation where they need his protection, then he will defend Catholics – stated Cezary Tomczyk on Radio Zet.

09:32

Will Wioletta Paprocka Head Trzaskowski's Campaign? Tomczyk: I Can Neither Confirm Nor Deny

- I will not be the head of the campaign, because I need to concentrate on my work. I cannot reveal this, but I think this news will be announced probably today, and that with high probability it will be a woman. I cannot say [if it will be Wioletta Paprocka] and I cannot deny it – said Cezary Tomczyk on Radio Zet.

09:33

Tomczyk:

Czarnek and Bocheński Will Consider Replacing Nawrocki in the Coming Weeks

I believe that many people in PiS are dissatisfied with this candidacy today, that it was not consulted with the Presidential Palace, that it arose from a conflict and will affect the campaign. There were no consultations with Andrzej Duda, and Kaczyński simply did it himself – stated Cezary Tomczyk on Radio Zet.

Let's remember that Nawrocki has two competitors, Mr. Bocheński and Mr. Czarnek, and that in the coming weeks they will be observing what is happening very closely, because they will be thinking about possibly stepping into that position and becoming the PiS candidate – he added.

09:33

Tomczyk on Exhumations in Volhynia:

This Will Build Polish-Ukrainian Relations on a Completely New Level.

- Today we have a new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, who is currently discussing with the government of the Republic of Poland, with Donald Tusk's government, with Radek Sikorski, a matter that is one of the foundations for our hearts and minds, for our national dignity, and which would certainly allow for building Polish-Ukrainian relations on a completely different level – said Cezary Tomczyk on Radio Zet.

09:34

Tomczyk on Trzaskowski:

If Biedroń Calls Him Conservative and Hołownia Leftist, it Means We’ve Hit the Mark.
I think Rafał Trzaskowski wants to be a candidate for all Poles – Cezary Tomczyk said on Radio Zet.

Firstly, I am pleased that such words are being spoken from various sides because, for example, Robert Biedroń said that Rafał Trzaskowski will be a conservative candidate, and frankly, if Szymon Hołownia says he will be a leftist candidate, and Biedroń says conservative, it means we’ve hit the mark – he continued.

09:54

Żukowska on Talks with The Left (Razem):

It's Possible to Support a Joint Candidate.

- Well, no. We have the first round, and it's truly pointless to ask such questions here [about supporting Rafał Trzaskowski]. No self-respecting candidate should even answer a question posed in this way - stated Anna-Maria Żukowska in an interview with Łukasz A. Jankowski on Radio Wnet.

- I don't know, we'll probably talk to The Left (Razem) about what they intend to do. Adrian's time, I think, was five years ago. He didn't decide to do it then. Robert Biedroń decided, simply took on that responsibility. So I have full respect for Robert because he knew it probably wouldn't end with a spectacular result, but he did it anyway. He took responsibility like a leader behaves. No, Robert will definitely not be running now. For sure, that's certain - she continued.

- I don't know yet, we haven't made that decision. As I said, we will be analyzing these surveys today. It's possible that The Left (Razem) or we and The Left (Razem) will support a joint candidate. We are not ruling that out - she emphasized.

09:56

Morawiecki:

"Tusk's Nightmare Plan" Involves Raising VAT on Basic Goods and Withdrawing Support for Citizens Facing Rising Energy Prices
"A plan to raise the VAT rate on basic products, which will further burden citizens' wallets. The nightmarish 'Tusk Plan' also assumes the withdrawal of state support in connection with rising energy prices" - writes former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on X. "We need a head of state who will stand up in defense of Poles and their rights. Karol Nawrocki is capable of stopping this nightmarish scenario" - writes Morawiecki.

09:56

Żukowska on a Free Christmas Eve:

We're Fighting for It to Happen This Year.

- There will be [a Christmas Eve war]. We are fighting for it to happen this year, at the commission meeting. If there were truly political will from everyone, it is still realistic, but this free Christmas Eve will definitely happen - stated Anna-Maria Żukowska on Radio Wnet.

10:02

Sasin:

It was a bit like Nawrocki himself wanted to run, but as a civic candidate

- PiS made the decision that it would support this candidacy. It was also a bit like Karol Nawrocki was the person who wanted to run for president, but he wanted to run for president precisely in this formula. He is not a politician, he is not a PiS activist, he is a person who has never engaged in politics, although as the president of the IPN, one can say he is within the broadly understood political environment or the state's environment, but he is not a politician. He is, moreover, outside the core of political dispute – stated Jacek Sasin in the program ,,Sedno sprawy” on Radio Plus.

10:02

Sasin on Underfunding of CPK Construction:

At This Pace, Construction Will Take 60 Years.

- A modest, very modest [amount, PLN 3.5 billion allocated for CPK], because the plan for this year, prepared by our government, foresaw an amount of PLN 9.5 billion which was to be spent on the implementation of this investment this year – stated Jacek Sasin on Radio Plus.

- This shows how they operate. This is happening because they know that the majority of Poles want the CPK built, so they are faking the construction. This is faking it, because at this pace, the construction will take 60 years – he continued.

10:03

Sasin on Nawrocki:

He Will Show He Is Not a Party Candidate.
I think that Karol Nawrocki, in the coming months before the election, will convince everyone that he is not such a party candidate. He will not speak with party slogans; he will certainly present his views, which may not be entirely consistent with what PiS proclaims or has proclaimed – said Jacek Sasin on Radio Plus. He is simply close to us because he is a patriot, he wants a strong Poland, he spoke about this. He wants an independent, sovereign, rapidly developing, and safe Poland – he added.

10:15

Sejm is Not a Meat Grinder, a Government Service Point. Hołownia Announces Limits on Shortening Procedural Deadlines

- There are a lot of shortenings of procedural deadlines in this Sejm. I am allowing such a situation for the last time. I also want to say very clearly that, of course, I am happy that we are dealing with such a, one could say, legislative offensive by the government, that within two months or a month and a bit, we receive almost 50 draft laws, but it cannot look like this in the future - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

- Therefore, I have already spoken with Minister Berek, who is responsible for legislation in the government, and I informed him that from January, I will allow one shortening of deadlines in important matters - he continued.

- We must be faithful to what we ourselves have said. The law-making process in Poland must look different than during the PiS government. The Sejm is not a meat grinder, a government service point. It is a place where law is forged, where discussion takes place. We deliberately extended the procedures, not to shorten them - emphasized the Marshal of the Sejm.

10:26

Hołownia:

Waiting for Rule of Law Legislation

- I am waiting here in the Sejm, of course, for the legislation that has been announced but has not yet arrived. These are laws concerning the rule of law, the law on the separation of the functions of the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General. There are still many of these matters that will have an impact – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

10:30

Hołownia Suggests Introducing a Free Christmas Eve from Next Year

- It seems there is an emerging consensus that this bill will be passed today, and we will be able to enjoy a free Christmas Eve starting from next year. There is an amendment stating that one more trading Sunday in December will be introduced, in order to allow for necessary shopping to be done, not on Christmas Eve itself, but appropriately earlier - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

10:38

Hołownia:

Even PiS Didn't Nominate a Candidate for the Constitutional Tribunal

- You know that the terms of 3 judges of the Constitutional Tribunal will expire shortly, at the beginning of December. Mrs. Przyłębska, Mr. Muszyński, and Mr. Pszczółkowski. As you know, in the first nomination period, no one applied. Consequently, I have set a second, additional period, December 11th, and I am waiting to see if there will be any applications. From our side, there will be no applications, because we believe that the Constitutional Tribunal in its current form has no right to exist, and we should not prolong its agony by admitting new people to work - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

- Even PiS did not nominate its candidate for the Constitutional Tribunal, a position they fought for and defended so fiercely as the last bastion of the rule of law. We shall see, perhaps they will nominate someone by December 11th - he continued.

10:53

Hołownia to the Government: There's Truly Nothing More to Wait For. I'm Appealing One Last Time

- I recently discussed this with Minister Domański, Minister Berek. We had an opportunity to exchange a few words on this topic with Prime Minister Tusk. I want to state with full conviction, very clearly, and without raising any doubts - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

- I expect the government to send a bill regarding assistance for people with disabilities to the Sejm. This is our electoral commitment, one of the guarantees of Trzecia Droga, and one of PO's 100 concrete actions. I believe there is truly nothing more to wait for - he continued.

- I am appealing to the government one last time - truly, from the bottom of my heart, I appeal for this bill to be placed in the Marshal's desk as soon as possible - said the Marshal of the Sejm.

11:02

Hołownia Announces a "Hot Political December"
There isn't much time left until December 14th. A few other things will happen along the way, of that I assure you, and I will remain at this level of mystery as a Sejm Nostradamus, so that you can now wonder: what will happen, and when will it happen? It will be a hot December, certainly a hot political December – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

11:10

Hołownia on Nawrocki:

I believe he will make the right decision.

- As far as I'm concerned, it's difficult for me to imagine being the head of the IPN and a presidential candidate at the same time. If the law on this matter says what it says. But let's give ourselves a moment, a moment for reflection. I was once in a similar situation to him, I ran and completely transitioned, one might say, from partisan politics - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

- I know these are moments when decisions are just being made, directions are being set. I believe that President Nawrocki will make the right decision. In my opinion, he should not combine these two roles - he continued.

11:40

Błaszczak on the 'hysterical attack by media functionaries':

Nawrocki is a fighter – you won't defeat him.

- The hysterical attack by media functionaries associated with Civic Platform (PO) on Karol Nawrocki during today's conference is solely a sign of fear – Donald Tusk is deploying all his resources and giving the green light for a brutal campaign. Karol Nawrocki is a fighter – you won't defeat him – Mariusz Błaszczak wrote on social media.

12:08

Nawrocki:

IPN Has Been Striving for the Exhumation of Volhynia Genocide Victims Since 2017

- This is a declaration that evokes great emotions among those who are experiencing this personally, because the Volhynia genocide is a part of our national consciousness and a wound that has not yet healed in modern times – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

- The Institute of National Remembrance, since 2017, has been consistently pursuing and striving for all exhumation requests and exhumations in Volhynia to become a reality and for them to become an opportunity for us to fulfill our obligations towards historical truth and the past – he continued.

12:09

Nawrocki:

We are ready to begin exhumations in Volhynia within 24 hours

- Today's public declaration, ladies and gentlemen, must have its second phase, and that phase, which we at the Institute of National Remembrance are awaiting, is the 'checking' phase. This means that if the public declarations of today's politicians are not just political declarations, then we at the IPN, the only institution ready to undertake exhumation work in Volhynia, are awaiting formal confirmation and a response to our requests, sent since 2017 – said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

- I want to clearly emphasize that the Institute of National Remembrance, our Bureau for Search and Identification, is ready to undertake real searches in Volhynia within 24 hours. We are therefore waiting with deep hope for formal confirmation of this information – he added.

12:09

Nawrocki:

Failure by Ukraine to Resolve the Volhynia Issue Will Be a Problem in All EU Accession Negotiations

- This is essential from the perspective of the Polish state's memory policy or the activities of the Institute of National Remembrance, but I also want to convince all of you that it will prove essential for the Ukrainian state, which, without reckoning with the Volhynia genocide crime, most certainly – may God grant Ukraine victory in the war with Russia. If this happens, the failure to resolve this problem with such an important partner as Poland will be a problem in all potential accession negotiations – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

12:20

Duda on the EU mission in Armenia:

We are considering increasing the number of our representatives.
- The [EU mission in Armenia] is achieving some successes, such as calming the situation, because it is clearly evident from comparing what the situation was like before the mission arrived or at the time of its arrival, and what we have now, that in many places, where we were dealing with constant shelling, primarily of infrastructure [...] these shellings have ceased as a result of the continuous presence of European Union representatives in these locations - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference. - Even looking from this perspective alone, one can say that the mission is successful. This mission will continue, as the European Union recently extended its mandate for the years 2025-2027. We are participating in this mission and are considering increasing the number of our representatives in this mission - he continued.

12:21

Duda:

The Question of What They Intend to Do with Their Current Positions Should Be Asked of All Candidates
- People who at this moment have practically, unofficially declared themselves – because they have been put forward by political parties for this presidential race – all currently hold very important state functions. Dr. Karol Nawrocki is indeed the head of the Institute of National Remembrance, but Rafał Trzaskowski is the Mayor of Warsaw, and Szymon Hołownia is the Marshal of the Sejm – said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference. - Such a question should be asked of all candidates: what do they intend to do with the positions they currently hold – he continued.

12:25

Duda on the Civic CPK Bill:

I hope it won't be rejected.
- My primary hope is that this bill won't be rejected, because we've been discussing it for quite some time, essentially since 2023, when Donald Tusk's government was formed. From the very beginning, I've been consistently appealing for the continuation of these most important, I would say, historical projects for Poland - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference, when asked about the civic bill concerning CPK.

12:29

50 Reports to Prosecutors, Losses in the Billions: State Treasury Stock Companies' Audits Summarized by MAP

- Today we are in a situation where we have several dozen reports to the prosecutor's office, with audits still ongoing fragmentarily in certain companies, because it turned out that the scale of these irregularities exceeded our greatest expectations. Unfortunately, it was worse than it seemed, so we are continuing to work – stated Jakub Jaworski, Minister of State Assets, at a press conference.

- Today we can say that the main part of the audits has been completed. We have 50 reports to the prosecutor's office and a number of other irregularities of less significant weight – he added.

- Today we know that the losses caused by these irregularities amount to several billion zlotys, so it was mainly incompetence and megalomania that led to these losses – he emphasized.

12:30

The Question of Who and Why is Blocking This, or Acting to Delay It as Much as Possible. Duda on CPK
- The question is who and why is blocking this, or who and why is acting to delay it as much as possible. Because I have no doubt that at least actions aimed at delaying this as much as possible, through various inhibitory measures, have been continuously implemented for a year. I would like this matter to move forward - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference, referring to the issue of the Central Communication Port (CPK).

12:36

Duda:

Success Will Be Achieved When the Exhumation Process Truly Begins
- We will be able to talk about success when the search and exhumation process actually begins. [...] This success, as always, every success will likely have many fathers [...] I, without fanfare, very calmly [...] have been discussing this matter primarily with President Volodymyr Zelensky for some time, constantly and systematically. These are difficult issues, but I hope that by acting calmly and consistently, we will resolve them - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference. - I look with satisfaction at the recent statements from the official Ukrainian side, and I hope that the process will continue and that it will contribute to calming the situation and resolving these important historical issues - he continued.

12:43

Duda:

The President of the Republic of Poland is not there to officially endorse any candidate
- The President of the Republic of Poland is not there to officially endorse any candidate – said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference, when asked which presidential candidate was closest to him and whether he would officially endorse any of them during the campaign. - When it comes to matters related to historical policy [...] it is probably clear to you, even when you observe patriotic ceremonies in which I have recently participated [...], that at practically all these ceremonies, the President of the Institute of National Remembrance was present. Today, this President of the Institute of National Remembrance is Dr. Karol Nawrocki [...] he and his approach to these matters are close to me – he continued. - There is also a Confederation candidate; I will want to hear what, primarily gentlemen [...] if there are, then ladies too, have to say about important Polish matters – he went on to say.

Serafin on the EP Vote:

The Era of European Institutions Primarily Occupying Themselves is Over.

- Today's vote marks the end of an era where European institutions primarily occupied themselves, and that's good news. We have an escalation of the war in Ukraine, we soon have a new administration in Washington, we have a weakening European economy. And therefore, those who voted "yes" have today given Europe, the EU, a chance to address these problems. It is a pity that there were those who voted "no," because that would deepen the chaos and lead to decision-making paralysis - stated Piotr Serafin in an interview with journalists.

The new EU commissioner commented in this way on the approval of the new European Commission by the EP.

Morawiecki:

The Fighting Democracy Has Suffered Defeat Again

- Tusk's Bantustan. The fighting democracy has suffered defeat again. Dariusz Barski is the National Prosecutor - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media.

Ministry of Labour's Good Idea Turns into a Monster. Razem, OPZZ, and Solidarność on a Free Christmas Eve
- Razem is the representation of employees here in parliament, and that is why we have invited representatives of the two largest Polish trade union centres, which bring together retail employees, to this conference together with us, i.e., the All-Polish Trade Unions Agreement (OPZZ) and Solidarność - said Adrian Zandberg at a press conference. - We are undoubtedly dealing with a situation where a good idea that emerged at the Ministry of Labour level, a free Christmas Eve, is turning into some kind of monster [...] we have an idea moving towards a free Sunday, but on the other hand [...] an additional trading Sunday, such an exchange, is a transaction [...] unacceptable from our perspective. [...] A free Christmas Eve is the demand we requested, but without any other solutions that are now being proposed to us - said Michał Lewandowski from OPZZ. - We will not allow ourselves to be deprived of free Sundays today. [...] We will defend together and protest in the event of such a scenario of taking away these free days - said Alfred Bujara from Solidarność.

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

No agreement from PSL on Ukraine's EU accession without exhumations

- Firstly, this is a matter I have been dealing with from the very beginning. I am pleased that in the government we managed to build understanding among all political circles. The PSL was the first circle that clearly spoke about this [about exhumations in Volhynia] – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with journalists.

Kosiniak-Kamysz: I was the first politician to clearly raise the issue of exhumations

- I was the first politician who said there would be no accession and no agreement from the PSL in this case on Ukraine's accession to the EU, if the matter of exhumations and commemoration of the victims of the Volhynian massacre is not resolved and honor is not granted to those who suffered so much, who were so brutally murdered in the genocide – he continued.

- We clearly stated our position, we defended it firmly, I thank the Prime Minister and Minister Sikorski for supporting this direction, which is so close and significant to the PSL – he emphasized.

15:34

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Proposal for a Joint Presidential Candidate Remains Relevant

We have long spoken about Szymon Hołownia [PSL also considering him as their candidate]. We were also looking for a way for him to be a joint candidate. I understand that other political circles, forming today's coalition, are not interested in this, but we submitted this proposal so that someone wouldn't say in the future that such a possibility existed but no one put it forward. We are putting it forward, and it remains – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists.

15:36

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Poland is Not Sending Soldiers to Ukraine; There Are No Discussions on This Matter

- Today, there are no discussions on this topic. Please do not give in to any comments or inspirations that something has been adopted and that someone will be sending troops soon. Poland is currently training Ukrainian soldiers, and this is happening here and now, here in Poland, not sending soldiers to Ukraine – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with journalists.

15:36

Kosiniak-Kamysz on civil defense:

We are catching up on enormous delays, our predecessors eliminated it.

- We are catching up on enormous delays because we found a state without civil defense. Our predecessors, through the Act on the Defense of the Homeland, eliminated civil defense in Poland. They did nothing in this regard to build social resilience. Fortunately, we have already taken action, not only by adopting the act, but education with the military is a project that we have been carrying out since last school year - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists.

17:12

Tusk:

Scandinavian, Baltic Countries, and Poland Share Common Stance on All Security Issues
- I feel very strongly that the Scandinavian countries, the Baltic countries, and Poland, it's not an exaggeration, we have a common stance on all matters related to security, with Russia, with Ukraine, our active presence in NATO, regarding transatlantic relations, and so on – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference following a meeting of the prime ministers of the Nordic and Baltic states. - We want to act together, this is not a slogan. Today, better than ever before, we know that together we are stronger, and today we need strength, including the readiness to show this strength, so that we are determined and ready to do everything in our power as a format, but also as the European Union or NATO, to prevent the highest risks – he continued.

17:17

Tusk:

An Independent Ukraine Means a Safer Poland and the Entire West. If Ukraine Loses, We All Lose
- All the discussions throughout our day revolved around one fundamental issue: the security of our continent, our region. The threat we face is coming [...] it is very important to talk about this. It is the Ukrainians, by resisting Russia, who make the rest of us safe and make a catastrophic scenario less probable - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference following a meeting of the prime ministers of Nordic and Baltic countries. - Our group is aware that our support for Ukraine is something of a very selfish nature, a very rational and pragmatic nature. It is not just about values, it is not just about ideas, it is not about us wanting to support the right to freedom and independence for our Ukrainian friends [...] an independent Ukraine means a safer Poland, a safer Sweden, Norway, Europe, and the entire West - he continued. - We cannot falter in our support for Ukraine. It must be clear, if Ukraine loses, we all lose. [...] Our capitulation or lack of support for Ukraine is an obvious way to deepen the crisis and increase the risk for all of us - he went on to say.

17:26

Tusk:

I Proposed the Creation of a Baltic Sea Mission
- Today I proposed the creation of a mission on the Baltic Sea. I am very pleased that my colleagues found it interesting, and we will continue to refine the details - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference after a meeting of the prime ministers of Nordic and Baltic countries.

17:29

Tusk:

I will call on my colleagues in the EU to increase our joint efforts to support Ukraine
- I will call on my colleagues in the European Union, including during the Polish presidency [...] to increase our joint efforts to support Ukraine, militarily, financially, and politically – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference after a meeting with the prime ministers of the Nordic and Baltic countries.

17:45

Tusk:

We Need to Rebuild Europe, Ready to Replace Some US Support for Ukraine If Necessary
- Europe must be [...] our colleagues too, everyone who had any contact with the president-elect [Donald Trump] is convinced that this is what we need, to rebuild Europe anew, smart, self-sufficient, and ready to replace at least part of American support for Ukraine if necessary - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference after a meeting with the prime ministers of Nordic and Baltic countries. - The messages coming from the president-elect are quite clear. [...] Europe as a whole, NATO, we all must be more determined, more ready to replace some means and tools and money if necessary, if the American decision seems to be what it appears to be today. We should treat this as an opportunity, not a threat - he continued. - No one will replace Europe in our fundamental duty, which is our security. We are not talking here solely about Ukraine, we are not talking about Russia, we are talking about our security. If we want to prevent World War III, if we want to prevent the next phase of Russian aggression, we must think of ourselves as strong and determined - he went on to say.

Nawrocki in Racibórz: Let's Agree on the "Nawrocki Contract"

- As President of the Republic of Poland, I, a citizen, must assure you that I will approach the promises made with deep sensitivity and great responsibility. Let's agree on the "Nawrocki contract" here in Racibórz. That once I say and promise something, I will fulfill it, and I have such principles because I am committed to them - stated Karol Nawrocki in Racibórz.

18:22

Nawrocki on CPK:

I Just Received Information from Parliament.
"I have just received information from the Polish parliament that the citizens' motion concerning the construction of CPK, meaning the citizens' bill on CPK, after the appeal of citizens and after my personal appeal this morning during a press conference, perhaps still, under public pressure, will have a chance of realization" - stated Karol Nawrocki in Racibórz.

18:24

Nawrocki:

We Need Stubborn Visionaries

- We are a nation with our own aspirations, we need stubborn visionaries who will represent the Polish state, thinking of Poland as the subject of its tasks. Regardless of whether we look east or west, or to the past or the future. When we want to perform public functions, Poland must be in our hearts. Love for Poland should be the primary category of public life - stated Karol Nawrocki in Racibórz.

18:26

Nawrocki:

The Largest Airport in This Part of Europe Should Be in Poland

- The largest airport in this part of Europe should be in Poland, in Warsaw. Regardless of what other candidates say, there is a large airport in Berlin - stated Karol Nawrocki in Racibórz.

18:29

Nawrocki:

The Volhynian Genocide Becomes a Topic for Politicians Who Have Avoided It for Years Out of Political Pragmatism

- Today, suddenly, the Volhynian Genocide is becoming a topic for politicians who have avoided this subject for years out of political pragmatism; it is only starting to become interesting for political reasons. Poles like history, are interested in history, and what's more, Poles in the western voivodeships are connected to the issue of the Volhynian Genocide through family ties, family tragedies - stated Karol Nawrocki in Racibórz.

18:31

Nawrocki on the Volhynia Massacre:

I'm Testing You.

- 'I'm testing you,' and I'm saying this to you as a candidate, not as the President of the IPN. Because in recent years, and especially in the last year, so few people have been calling for the commencement of exhumations in Volhynia. Prime Minister Morawiecki consistently called for it, while part of the political class pretended that the issue of 120,000 Poles murdered by Ukrainian nationalists did not exist - stated Karol Nawrocki in Racibórz.

Civic Coalition Parliamentary Club Meeting Held with Trzaskowski in Attendance
- Full room. Meeting of the Civic Coalition Parliamentary Club with the participation of President Rafał Trzaskowski - Małgorzata Niemczyk wrote on the X platform.

20:40

Pomaska:

For Trzaskowski, There Are No Difficult Questions or Difficult Meetings
- For Rafał Trzaskowski, there are no difficult questions and no difficult meetings. He has often been attacked by pseudo-journalists from TVP Info and handled it brilliantly – said Agnieszka Pomaska on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:46

Pomaska:

Trzaskowski Was Chosen in Primaries, While Kaczyński Handpicked Nawrocki in the Salons on Nowogrodzka Street
- It's important how you start. Rafał Trzaskowski became a candidate in primaries for the first time on such a scale, chosen by over 22,000 people. And Mr. Nawrocki was chosen by Mr. Kaczyński somewhere in the salons on Nowogrodzka Street. I think this is a fundamental difference - said Agnieszka Pomaska on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

Malicious Attacks on an Independent Candidacy Were to Be Expected. Poland 2050 on Publications Regarding Hołownia
To every question raised in the public sphere concerning Collegium Humanum, there is one answer: Szymon Hołownia does not and never has studied at Collegium Humanum. He has also never met with its authorities, officially or unofficially. Anyone who claims otherwise is lying - it was written in a statement from Poland 2050. The only thing connecting him with this university is an application he sent a few years ago when he was considering studying psychology. However, he did not undertake these studies due to information acquired in the meantime about the university's dubious reputation, and a change in his life plans. Malicious attacks on Szymon Hołownia's independent candidacy were to be expected. The Marshal is prepared for them, and they only strengthen his determination to change precisely this kind of dirty, fake news-based politics.

20:55

Pomaska on Questions for Nawrocki:

Would He Pardon Macierewicz or Another PiS Politician?
- I am interested, for example, whether he [Karol Nawrocki] would pardon Mr. Macierewicz, if, for instance, Mr. Macierewicz were under some sentence, or any other PiS politician. These are the questions for Mr. Nawrocki today - said Agnieszka Pomaska on TVN24’s “Kropka nad i”.

21:02

Who Can End the Polish-Polish War? Kamiński: Not Nawrocki, Not Trzaskowski – Only Hołownia
- Can Mr. Nawrocki end the Polish-Polish war? No, he cannot. I fear that Rafał Trzaskowski – with all my immense sympathy for Rafał – also cannot end it, because the other half, for very bad reasons, always hates the first half – Michał Kamiński said on TVN24's "Kropka nad i". - If President Kaczyński, who started this war and lives off it, says he wants to end it, let's not believe him, because he does not want to end it – he added. - The only one who can realistically end the Polish-Polish war in this election campaign is Hołownia. Because only Hołownia can be a candidate for all of Poland and a president for all of Poland, not half of Poland – he indicated.

Sejm Adopts Changes to Health Contribution Rules

In the evening voting session, MPs passed the government's draft amendments to the rules for calculating the health contribution. The proposals – after the legislative process is completed – will enter into force on January 1, 2025. Among the changes are a modification to paying the health contribution on the sale of fixed assets and a change to the basis for the minimum contribution.

248 MPs voted 'for' the project, 6 voted against, and 171 abstained – including the PiS parliamentary club.

Szefernaker on the Success of Nawrocki's Appeal:

Tomorrow We Start the Campaign at First Light.

- The fourth day of the campaign brought success with Karol Nawrocki's appeal regarding the citizens' bill on CPK, a great meeting in Racibórz, and a furious attack on the candidate by mainstream media. Tomorrow, we start the campaign at first light - wrote Paweł Szefernaker on social media.

21:51

Sejm Decides on a Free Christmas Eve

403 MPs supported changes to the act on days off from work – in practice, this means establishing Christmas Eve as a day off. However, the proposal includes a vacatio legis, meaning the changes will come into effect from 2025.

The proposal was supported by most parliamentary clubs, although several MPs from PiS and Konfederacja broke ranks.

21:54

Hennig-Kloska:

Energy Prices After January 1, 2025, Will Not Change
'I wanted to tell all of you that energy prices after January 1, 2025, will not change. Households will receive bills based on the same calculations they are receiving at the moment,' stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in the Sejm.

Hołownia:

I Applied to Several Universities. I Did Not Begin Studies at Collegium Humanum

- I did not study at the Collegium Humanum university, I am not a graduate of CH, I do not hold a diploma. I did not begin studies at this university, I have never made any payment to this university's account related to tuition fees, I have not participated in any classes conducted by this university, I have not participated in any ceremonies - stated Szymon Hołownia in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

- I have never had any conversations with anyone from the university's management, particularly with its currently suspected rector, regarding the conditions of study - he continued.

- I applied to several universities with a request for admission to studies, in order to finish those studies. One of them was Collegium Humanum; I submitted such an application and completed the initial, preliminary formalities required for admission to studies. When I learned about the reputation this university has, I abandoned the idea and did not begin those studies - the Marshal of the Sejm emphasized.
