Schetyna on the KO Poll:

I Don't Think It Will Be Decisive.

- I don't have the impression that this is a signal. It's simply a commissioned poll, announced for weeks, that there would be a large poll on a large sample, in order to have knowledge and to be able to look at it and draw conclusions for these thousands of members - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- I have heard such opinions [that it's a kiss of death for Radosław Sikorski], but I don't think it will be decisive or convincing to the very end for the thousands of votes that will decide. People have their own minds, their own knowledge, they calculate their sympathies. For me, the most important thing is what happens the day after - he continued.

07:47

Schetyna on KO Primaries:

Trzaskowski is the Favorite.

- There is a favorite, and everyone realizes this, they read these polls, and it seems that Rafał Trzaskowski is the favorite of this meeting, this clash, but everything is still open. We are talking about tens of thousands of votes - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

07:51

Schetyna on the PiS Candidate:

They Don't Have Good Decisions Ahead of Them.

- Nothing happens twice, and they [PiS] truly have a very serious problem because they are hostages, PiS is today a hostage to Kaczyński's "genius." They believe that Kaczyński will certainly make a good decision, and they themselves do not have good decisions ahead of them, because they lack a good candidate who guarantees them an equal fight with the KO candidate - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in the "Piasecki Interview" on TVN24.

Civic Coalition MEP Announces Coalition Agreement on Health Contribution
A lower health contribution for entrepreneurs already next year, and from 2026 – a much deeper change. We are keeping our word, the 15 X coalition has reached an agreement on this difficult matter – wrote MEP Krzysztof Brejza on social media.

08:06

Domański on Energy Price Freezes:

We’ve Secured Over PLN 5 Billion for Next Year.

- Yes [electricity prices should be frozen until the end of next year]. Of course, we have also secured funds in the budget for this, initially for 9 months, but we have also committed the companies. We have secured over PLN 5 billion in the budget for 2025 and at the same time, we have very clearly stipulated in the law that energy companies should present new, implicitly lower tariffs already in the first half of the year – stated Andrzej Domański in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio Zet.

08:10

Żukowska Responds to Brejza: 'We Did Not Reach an Agreement on the Contribution for 2026'
We did not reach an agreement on the contribution for 2026. Lewica does not agree to preferential treatment for self-employed individuals (JDG) compared to employees earning the same amount - wrote Anna-Maria Żukowska on social media.

08:16

Significant Reduction for Many Entrepreneurs, Especially Lower Earners. Domański on Health Contribution Changes

- We are dealing here with a significant reduction in the health contribution for many entrepreneurs, particularly those with lower earnings. It was very important for us that this is not aid for the biggest fat cats, but for small Polish entrepreneurs who, due to the Polish Deal, often had very serious problems with the contribution – stated Andrzej Domański on Radio Zet.

08:17

Mentzen:

Poland Should Be Interested in Freezing the Conflict as Soon as Possible, Just as Trump Wanted
- Poland should not be interested in escalating this war, because we, besides Ukraine, are the most at risk at this moment. If this conflict moves somewhere, it will move to Poland - said Sławomir Mentzen in a conversation with Marcin Fijołek in "Graffiti" Polsat News. - Another threat is that if this war continues for longer, at some point Ukraine will run out of manpower [...]. The most likely source of obtaining soldiers to continue this conflict is unfortunately Poles - he continued. - For this reason, I believe that Poland should be interested in freezing the conflict as soon as possible, just as Donald Trump wanted - he assessed.

08:20

Domański on Lewica's Remarks Regarding the Health Contribution:

I Hope We Find an Agreement.

- Lewica submitted remarks yesterday, and we will continue to work on these remarks at this parliamentary stage. I hope we will find an agreement here - stated Andrzej Domański on Radio Zet.

- We will be seeking an agreement. I hope we find one - added the Minister of Finance.

08:22

Domański:

Ministry of Finance Has Halted the 3rd Tranche Payment for PiS

- As of today, the Ministry of Finance has halted the payment of this third tranche because, by operation of law, PiS was simply not entitled to it. The Ministry of Finance makes decisions and acts based on the decisions of the National Electoral Commission. There is no need to consult [with the Prime Minister] here – stated Andrzej Domański on Radio Zet.

08:23

Domański on a Free Christmas Eve:

I will present arguments that this is a bad solution.

- In my assessment, yes [Christmas Eve is too high a cost for the budget]. We calculated in the Ministry of Finance, based on our models, that this is a cost for the economy at the level of PLN 4 billion, a cost for the budget at the level of PLN 2 billion 300 million, for this one big day. Thousands of small companies, shops, bakeries, these small businesses, then have quite high turnover. Personally, I will present arguments that this is a bad solution - stated Andrzej Domański on Radio Zet.

08:26

Mentzen on Biden's decision regarding ATACMS missiles:

It is not in line with Polish interests.
- Perhaps it is in line with American interests [Biden's decision to allow Ukraine to use ATACMS to attack targets in Russia], but it is certainly not in line with Polish interests - said Sławomir Mentzen on Polsat News' "Graffiti". - The problem is that soon, if [Ukraine] has to continue defending itself, it will need Polish help for that. Therefore, this plan assumes that Poland will have to get involved in this conflict, and that is certainly not in Poland's interest - he assessed.

08:28

Sikorski on Acts of Sabotage:

If This Continues, Russia's Diplomatic Representation Will Be Reduced.
- We closed the consulate in Poznań after the arsonist admitted guilt and described how he was recruited by the GRU to commit an act of sabotage in Poland. Russia's hybrid war is not just about blocking some websites; it's cyberattacks on our state institutions, it's information aggression - said Radosław Sikorski in a conversation with Maciej Głogowski on "Poranek TOK FM". - Unfortunately, sabotage is conducted on a large scale, meaning recruiting people on social media, paying them to take photos of sensitive objects, and then attempts at arson or actual arson. [...] We don't have evidence for all these incidents that would stand up in court, but we have information; we know what the GRU is doing - he continued. - The message is clear: if this continues, the diplomatic representation of the Russian Federation will be reduced. I will remind you, part of this hybrid war also includes pushing people recruited from the Middle East across our border with Belarus - he went on to say.

08:32

Domański on Raising the Tax-Free Amount:

This Commitment Remains Relevant.

- This postulate, this commitment, remains relevant at all times, and I will want it to be fulfilled. Of course, what I can commit to is that I will do absolutely everything to ensure this postulate is realized during this term - stated Andrzej Domański on Radio Zet.

08:33

Sikorski:

The President Can Present Foreign Policy in a Way That Fills Halls, or Empties Them
- There is no such thing as government or presidential foreign policy, but the president can present Poland's foreign policy in a way that is understandable to the world, convincing to the world, and so that halls fill up, or they can do it in a way that empties them - said Radosław Sikorski on TOK FM, responding to the host's remark that he himself had stated that foreign policy is shaped by the government, and the president only represents it.

08:38

Civic Coalition Candidate 'Will Have to Listen to Tusk'? Sikorski: My Political, Intellectual Partnership with Him is Already Tested
- I am someone who was the only minister in both of Donald Tusk's governments and I supported his return to Polish politics, so my political, intellectual partnership with Donald Tusk is already tested - said Radosław Sikorski on TOK FM, when asked about Szymon Hołownia's words that "Donald Tusk's candidate will have to listen to Donald Tusk's orders".

08:40

Siemoniak:

The End of Macierewicz's Impunity
The end of Macierewicz's impunity – wrote Tomasz Siemoniak on social media. Earlier, Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, informed: – MP Macierewicz received three fines totaling PLN 1800 and 21 points for his traffic violations. Further police action following the summation of penalty points for the former minister.

08:40

Mentzen:

Freezing the conflict on the current front line and a guarantee that Ukraine will not join NATO seems reasonable
- It is probably necessary to agree that Ukraine will not join NATO. At this moment, it is impossible anyway; one cannot join NATO with unresolved border conflicts. And at this moment, there is no hope that Ukraine will manage to regain Donbas and Crimea - Sławomir Mentzen said in "Graffiti" Polsat News, referring to possible conditions for freezing the conflict in Ukraine. - Freezing the conflict on the current front line, plus some guarantee that Ukraine will not join NATO, seems to me to be a reasonable proposal - he stated. He simultaneously emphasized: - Polish troops should certainly not be guarding this freezing. Poland is very close to Russia and Ukraine and must primarily take care of Polish security. If German, French, British, or American troops were to appear on this border, it would be much more reasonable, as these countries risk significantly less than Poland.

08:44

Abolishing the Two-Term Limit in Local Government? Sikorski: I See Arguments on Both Sides, But I Would Sign the Bill
- I believe that the president should veto only as a last resort, because the parliamentary majority stands behind the law. However, in my last conversation with the late Paweł Adamowicz, when the two-term limit was still in effect, he accepted it with relief. We were talking, and after 8 years, a person falls into a routine - Radosław Sikorski said on TOK FM, in response to whether he would sign a bill abolishing the two-term limit in local government if he were president. - On the other hand, I recently met with the dynamic mayor of Rokietnica, who has been in office for 18 years and is doing an excellent job, so I see arguments on both sides. But if the bill passed by the Sejm landed on my desk, I would sign it - he continued. - I would respect the will of the parliamentary majority - he added.

08:48

Mentzen Asked About Financing His Political Activity:

It's My Private Matter How Much I Spend on My Hobbies.
- I am not running an election campaign, so there is nothing to finance. However, my recent political activity is financed by myself to a large extent - Sławomir Mentzen said on Polsat News's "Graffiti." - I have spent quite a lot. It's my private matter how much I spend on my hobbies. One must admit that traveling around Poland at my own expense has some characteristics of a hobby - he stated. - Anyone who has read my financial disclosure statement knows that I have the means to organize this type of event - he pointed out.

08:55

Mentzen:

If PiS Chooses Their Own 'Kidawa-Błońska' as a Candidate, I Will Beat Them Easily
- I don't even know who PiS's candidate will be at this moment. There's a chance that PiS will simply choose a bad candidate, just as PO chose a bad candidate in 2020, when Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska dropped to 3% in the polls - said Sławomir Mentzen in the 'Graffiti' program on Polsat News. - So, if PiS chooses some kind of their own 'Kidawa-Błońska,' I will beat them without a problem - he emphasized.

09:07

Grabiec on KO Poll Regarding Presidential Candidate:

Sikorski Cared Deeply About This.

- I know that Radosław Sikorski cared deeply about this poll being conducted. It was one of his requests, he asked for it to be done quickly, with a large sample size. I think that whenever a poll turns out a little less favorably, we look for circumstances that might somewhat mitigate it, but the fact is that this is a very solid poll analysis, and it reflects the current mood in Poland – stated Jan Grabiec on the program "Gość poranka" on TVP Info.

09:08

Mentzen on PKW’s Decision Regarding PiS’s Report:

They Got What They Wanted.
- Until now, the practice has been that a party received subsidies until such time as they had a pending appeal at the Supreme Court, until that verdict. In the case of PiS, it should be exactly the same as for any other party. I cannot imagine a situation where the government or the PKW selectively chooses which Supreme Court rulings it likes and which it doesn’t – said Sławomir Mentzen in Polsat News’s “Graffiti”. “The Mechanism That Led to This Was PiS’s Creation” As he pointed out: - The second issue is that the mechanism that led to this is, unfortunately, PiS’s creation. In 2019, the PiS-controlled Ministry of Finance refused to pay my party a subsidy under some absurd accusation that we supposedly don't exist as a party. - We appealed to the court, winning in the first instance against the Ministry of Finance, and now we are awaiting the second instance verdict. But 5 years have already passed since the PiS people took our money. Now, unfortunately, Civic Platform is doing to PiS exactly what PiS previously did to us – he assessed. “They Got What They Wanted” - Civic Platform’s actions towards PiS are illegal and unlawful. However, unfortunately, these actions were enabled by changes in the law carried out by PiS. They got what they wanted. No [I will not send a transfer to PiS’s fundraiser], I send transfers to my own political activities, not to the competition – he added.

09:09

Grabiec Asked About Primaries:

There's a Favorite in This Race.

- I think most KO members have formed an opinion about both politicians, because we've known them for many, many years, for over a decade, if not two decades, they've been active politicians. So, both politicians are very well known within Platforma and our coalition parties, and the assessment of both politicians' potential is very positive within PO – Jan Grabiec said on TVP Info.

- I don't know if [the primary result] is predetermined, but there is a favorite in this race and in the primaries, but this stems from the fact that Rafał Trzaskowski fought very well in the previous presidential campaign. He gained over 10 million votes in the second round. Many people believe that if the elections had been fair, he would be president today. Therefore, he is naturally the favorite – he continued.

09:11

"He Says More About Himself Than PKW Members." Grabiec on the President's Labeling PKW Members as "Uncultured People"
I don't want to speak ill of the head of state, but it's hard not to get the impression in this case that President Duda, with this behavior, is speaking more about himself than about the PKW members [by saying that PKW members are uncultured people] – stated Jan Grabiec on TVP Info.

This is a matter of honesty. If the regulations clearly state that if they broke the law, they lose reimbursement for the campaign, if they lose money for the campaign, they lose subsidies, there is no room for any interpretation, for any winking – he added.

09:13

Grabiec on Health Contributions:

We're Close to Incorporating the Left's Needs Enough That They Might Support This Project,

- These many months of discussion have led to a situation where we are close to incorporating the Left's needs enough that perhaps the Left parliamentary club will want to support this [health contribution] project – said Jan Grabiec on TVP Info.

10:36

Official Trips by its Members Cost Over One Million Zloty. Tomczyk Reveals Details of the Smolensk Subcommittee's Operations
Indeed, step by step we have accounted for the Smolensk subcommittee, and I believe the public has the right to know the details concerning these specific elements as well. In this case, we are talking about the official trips of the subcommittee members. The amount of kilometers driven is truly staggering – stated Cezary Tomczyk in the Sejm. Official trips by the subcommittee members cost the Polish taxpayer over one million zloty, half of which was for so-called 'kilometrówki,' meaning travel by private vehicles. Between 2016 and 2023, subcommittee members spent over half a million zloty on travel by private vehicles and, note this, drove over 800,000 kilometers. They were never in Smolensk – he continued.

11:26

Czarnek on running for president:

If I receive an offer from PiS leadership, I will take up the gauntlet.

- No, it's not a question of wanting, it's about being president. Of course, if someone is in politics, and high politics at that, they want to be in it, they are not in it by accident, and they are not here because someone put them there. So, once you are at this level, you naturally want to go and compete in contests that really matter. However, it's not a matter of necessarily wanting to be president - stated Przemysław Czarnek in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- If polls show that I have the greatest chances, then certainly, if I receive such an offer from the PiS leadership, I will take up that gauntlet, I will run - he continued.

11:27

Czarnek on Presidential Elections:

I am aware that this is a weakness.

- I have been saying this in the media for a long time, that I am aware that God has endowed me with this ability, that indeed, I try to use it 100%, that I have considerable influence on the right and can mobilize the PiS electorate, but I also think that I am acceptable to other electorates from the right side of the political scene and from the center - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Plus.

- However, I also have this affliction that since I am so well heard on the right, I am even better heard on the left and mobilize that side. So I am aware that this is a weakness, and if this weakness turns out to be too detrimental in these surveys conducted by the authorities, then someone else will be the candidate, and I will gladly work very hard for the candidate that the leadership chooses - he continued.

11:31

Czarnek:

I Agree with Konfederacja on Some Issues

- In some matters, I even agree with Konfederacja; in some matters, we could have been tougher; in some matters, we could have been less submissive. Konfederacja lacks the experience of governing and doesn't know that it's not as simple as saying whatever you want at any given moment. They can be viewed in terms of errors, not as errors themselves, if one doesn't know the circumstances under which specific decisions were made - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Plus.

11:57

Lasek:

We are creating CPK as a large, commercially viable project. One that unites Poles.

- We are creating CPK as a large, commercially viable project, but above all, one that unites Poles and is based on a realistic timeline. This is a public service project, not a private fiefdom, which seems to have been forgotten in previous years. We know we are spending public funds and take responsibility for every zloty spent - stated Maciej Lasek in the Sejm.

12:35

Terlecki:

Two Names Remain

- At this moment, the choice is being decided between two candidates: Przemysław Czarnek and Karol Nawrocki - said Ryszard Terlecki in an interview with Polsat News.

The PiS politician emphasized that "there are always surprises in such circumstances." - Although it will likely be one of these two - he added.

14:58

Work on the Next Aid Package: Tusk Discusses with Zelenskyy

- I spoke with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and thanked the Polish people for their solidarity from the very first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion. I expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his principled reaction to Russia’s recent attacks and efforts to break its political isolation - wrote Volodymyr Zelenskyy on social media.

- We discussed the upcoming 45th support package for Poland and its work on another defense aid package. I also shared my hopes for Poland’s leadership in the EU Council next year and their support in promoting Ukraine’s integration with the EU, including the opening of the first negotiation chapter and the parallel continuation of others - he added.

- I expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Tusk for leveraging his extensive personal contacts to advocate for Ukraine’s NATO membership and for continued defense support. We agreed to intensify our personal engagement and meet before the end of the year - he emphasized.

15:00

KO Primaries: A Plebiscite? Trzaskowski: No, It's a Genuine Decision by a Democratic Party
- No, because it is a genuine decision by a democratic party and we have genuine primaries, therefore our members will be making a genuine decision – said Rafał Trzaskowski in the program "W samo południe" on Jedynka, when asked if the primaries in KO are not something of a plebiscite. - I naturally have great hope that I will win, especially since all the polls we know, which we have published, show my considerable advantage, but these are primaries for real – he continued.

15:04

Trzaskowski:

PiS Faces a Huge Problem Today, None of Their Candidates Are Credible
- I am glad that thanks to these primaries, everyone is talking about Civic Coalition, that we have a chance to present our views, that in a sense we have been active for many, many weeks, this gives us a great advantage. It is clear that PiS has a huge problem today in choosing a candidate, because simply these last 8 years of destroying Polish democracy have led to the fact that none of them are credible, each of them carries a huge burden - said Rafał Trzaskowski in Jedynka.

16:05

Tusk Announces Extraordinary Summit on Ukraine:

The West Must Have a Unified Stance.

Today I spoke with President Zelensky and Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau. Next week in Sweden, an extraordinary format: Scandinavian states plus Baltic states plus Poland. The West must have a unified stance regarding support for Ukraine and common security – he wrote on social media.

16:21

PSL and Confederation Voters:

The Second Round Will Be Decided in the Electorate to Our Right." Sikorski on "Winning Over

- The second round will be decided in the electorate to our right. And here, even this poll, which my opponent is so happy about, shows that in the electorate of PSL and the Confederation, I am winning over more voters than he is - stated Radosław Sikorski in Łódź.

16:25

Sikorski on the Duda-Trump Relationship:

The True Test of This Friendship Will Be Its Impact on Ukrainian Issues,

- This will be a test of the friendship between our President Andrzej Duda and Donald Trump, whom President Duda called an American hero. I hope that Andrzej Duda will have more influence on Donald Trump than PiS has on Viktor Orbán. I hope that Mr. President has not allowed himself to be used to gain votes from our compatriots in the United States. The true test of this friendship's effectiveness will be its impact on decisions concerning Ukraine – stated Radosław Sikorski at a meeting with Łódź residents.

16:43

Sikorski:

If Someone Can Rally a Coalition from Giertych to Kwaśniewski, It Means They Know How to Unite Poles

- The vote will be secret and anonymous, so you can truly vote in the privacy of your own home, just as you wish. Not according to polls, not according to party officials' directives, but according to your own judgment as to who will be good at helping to steer the Polish ship of state through these truly challenging times that are emerging on the horizon – said Radosław Sikorski at a meeting with residents of Łódź.

- Admit it, if someone can rally a coalition from Giertych to Kwaśniewski, it means they know how to unite Poles – he added.

18:34

Trzaskowski:

We have a debt of wrongs to settle with PiS
- Thanks to you, I actually feel like a candidate since 2020, because then you trusted me, gave me your support, that unbelievable energy. This responsibility, in a sense, has been with me since 2020 - said Rafał Trzaskowski in Białystok. - We have a debt of wrongs to settle with PiS, on your behalf. I am convinced that if there is such energy across all of Poland as there is here, today, we will win these elections - he stated.

18:39

Trzaskowski to Civic Platform Members: You Know Best Who Has Been With You Over the Years, Who is Best Tested in Battle
- We are a democratic party. Radek [Sikorski] has repeatedly expressed his ambitions, so it is natural. I thought to myself: it will be much better – with all due respect to the chairman and colleagues from the board – for the members of Civic Platform [KO] to make this decision [...], because you know best who has been with you over these past years, who is best tested in electoral battle – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Białystok.

18:47

Trzaskowski:

We Prepared for War, Unlike PiS
- You've heard the reports that PiS wasn't even preparing for war. I can imagine what you must have felt being so close to the border [...] when you heard that PiS - despite receiving information from our allies - wasn't preparing for war, said Rafał Trzaskowski in Białystok. - We prepared for war. We had contacts and continue to have contacts with our fellow local government officials in Ukraine, and they told us: war will break out. A week before the war, I was in Kyiv, and we saw that something was going to happen. And we were preparing, unlike them, he insisted. "If someone says that, it means they've probably been asleep for the past few years." - If someone asks me if we, I, truly must show toughness, determination, show that we are not just talking about security all the time, but are acting for the security of our citizens, it means they've probably been asleep for the past few years. Because it is us who have been on the front line all along, he continued.

18:56

Trzaskowski:

A Waste of Our Emotions on What is Essentially a Friendly Rivalry
- I have any emotions reserved solely for the confrontation with PiS. I believe that right now it is a waste of our emotions on something that is essentially a friendly rivalry - said Rafał Trzaskowski in Białystok. - Even when you sometimes hear certain jibes - I try not to jib at anyone - I believe that one must let them go, focus only on the good sides of both candidates. And above all, prepare for December 7th, when we will begin the election campaign - he continued.

19:08

Trzaskowski on the Results of the KO Presidential Poll:

14 vs. 8 is a Huge Difference.
- Looking at the second round, there's also a large lead [...]. I have a 14% lead over PiS, Radek has 8%. Why am I saying this? [...] To draw your attention to the fact that if anyone today says that a 14% lead over PiS and an 8% lead over PiS is a small difference, it means they don't understand politics. I'm addressing all commentators here - said Rafał Trzaskowski in Białystok. - This is a huge difference in the second round. I believe that the second round will be razor-thin - he assessed.

19:17

Trzaskowski:

I have an advantage over Sikorski in all voter groups and among the undecided
- In all voter groups, including left-wing, centrist, and conservative voters, I have an advantage over my competitor - said Rafał Trzaskowski in Białystok. - But the most important thing is that there is also a significant advantage - and a very large one - among undecided voters - he noted. - This is the most important thing today, because it gives us growth potential and gives us hope that we are truly capable of winning the presidential election - he stated.

19:33

Trzaskowski Lists the Qualities:

We Need This Kind of President, and This is the Kind I Guarantee You.
- Today we face a huge task: convincing all our partners in the EU and NATO that they must take responsibility for their own security. This is because Americans may be slowly losing as much interest in Europe as the current administration has shown – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Białystok. - We must be prepared for this. We must try to keep the Americans […], but we must invest in our own defense capabilities – he continued. - That is why we need a president who can talk to partners, who is credible, who is well-regarded. Someone they know is predictable. And I guarantee you this kind of president – he emphasized.

19:48

Dziemianowicz-Bąk:

I am convinced a free Christmas Eve will become a reality
- Absolutely, there is a chance for a work-free Christmas Eve, and I am convinced that this work-free Christmas Eve will become a reality, because Poles want the implementation of precisely this demand, the demand for a legally work-free 24th December [...] and their voice is the most important – said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

19:53

Free Christmas Eve: Will It Harm Trade? Dziemianowicz-Bąk: Poles Will Buy on December 23rd What They Won't Buy on the 24th
- If we talk about VAT revenue decreasing on December 24th, Christmas Eve, for example, in terms of trade, of sales. Of course, but Polish women and men are smart, rational, and responsible people. What they won't buy on December 24th, they will buy on the 23rd. We don't believe that if someone doesn't buy a Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, it means they won't have a Christmas tree in their home, or that their child won't receive a gift because they won't make such purchases - said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk in Polsat News.

19:56

Dziemianowicz-Bąk on Left's Presidential Candidate Selection:

A Decision in December, January, or Around the Turn of the Year.
- A decision in December, or January, or around the turn of the year, will certainly be made jointly, it will certainly be made by consensus, by agreement of the entire party - said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk in Polsat News, when asked if the decision on choosing the Left's presidential candidate would be made in December.

Dziemianowicz-Bąk on The Left's Stance on Health Contributions:

We Will Not Support Solutions in This Form.
- The Left has indeed submitted serious remarks regarding the part of the bill concerning health contributions. Because what we all agreed upon in the coalition was to end a certain absurdity [...] namely, the abolition of health contributions paid from the turnover of fixed assets - Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk said on Polsat News. - No, in the form it has been presented, it is not socially just [...] would it be fair if an employee earning 5,000 PLN net on a full-time contract paid a contribution of 550 PLN, while an entrepreneur earning 25,000 PLN on a lump-sum tax paid a health contribution of 318 PLN? No, this is an evident inequality, an evident injustice - she continued, when asked if the proposal adopted by the government is fair. - If we earn more, we should proportionally contribute more to this common pot. It certainly cannot be the case that a nurse, a teacher, or a full-time employee bears a greater burden of financing the healthcare system than a wealthy IT specialist, a lawyer running a law firm, or another well-prospering entrepreneur - she further stated. - If these principles do not change, we will maintain our remarks and will not support a solution in this form, but I am counting on our coalition partners being willing to improve this bill - she added.

Zgorzelski on Hołownia's Candidacy:

We Agreed on This and We Are Consistent.

- We agreed on this. When creating the Third Way project, we agreed on two basic things. First, that this project would be designed for at least one term, and that within this coalition, we would nominate Marshal Hołownia as the presidential candidate. We agreed on this and we are consistent - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TVP Info.

Zgorzelski:

Our Proposal for a Joint Candidate Remains on the Table

- That was our proposal – it doesn't change the fact that when Marshal Hołownia announced his candidacy, we supported him, but our proposal for a joint candidate remains on the table – stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TVP Info.

Zgorzelski Announces Project After Presidential Change:

So the National Electoral Commission Becomes an Apolitical Body Again.

- Today I guarantee you that [after the presidential change] I will be one of the initiators and drafters of changes, so that the National Electoral Commission becomes an apolitical body again, so that judges with recognized authority in their community, about whom there will be no doubt that they have any political inclinations, will sit there - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TVP Info.

Dziemianowicz-Bąk on Changes to Sick Leave Regulations:

A Matter of a Few Months.
- This is a project that has now been sent for public consultation, for inter-ministerial agreements [...]. The goal of this project is to protect employees who are on sick leave from the risk of losing this benefit, from the risk of disciplinary dismissal, from various kinds of sanctions solely because, for example, while working for another employer, they undertake some minor activities - said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk on Polsat News, when asked about the proposed changes to sick leave (L4) regulations. - Agreement for an employee on sick leave to be able to engage in some professional activity, it depends exclusively on the request of the employee themselves. A specific example: a surgeon employed in a hospital with a broken arm. Of course, they cannot operate [...] they go on sick leave, but this same surgeon teaches students [...]. If they conduct a master's seminar, a lecture [...] under the current legal status, they risk losing their sickness benefit, they even risk disciplinary action - she continued. - This situation will only be possible if, when going to the doctor, the employee themselves requests that the doctor, when issuing the sick leave note, specifies what types of professional activity they can undertake. [...] This is a matter of processing it, it is a matter of a few months [...] I do not want to make a definitive declaration here [when the law will come into effect], it is certainly not something that will happen overnight - she further stated.
