- This is not a serious matter [the lawsuit]. It's an attempt to deflect trouble, and it seems to me that the noose is tightening around President Piesiewicz, and he will simply be forced to reveal the full financial truth about how he has managed the Polish Olympic Committee for 1.5 years – Sławomir Nitras told RMF24.

- One cannot assess effectiveness without absolute financial transparency. Global standards, including the IOC's standards on this matter, are stringent, while the standards in place at the Polish Olympic Committee are like from the PRL era. This simply must change – he added.

- Business needs transparency; nobody will spend their money on who knows what, on privileges for the president or someone else. Business must see that there is efficiency, that it is well-managed, that there are results, that the surrounding atmosphere is good, and above all, that there is transparency – stated Sławomir Nitras on RMF24.

- This absolutely must change, and I promise such a change from this perspective starting January 1, 2025, when entirely different transparency rules for Polish sports associations, including the Polish Olympic Committee, will be in effect. Because anyone who doesn't show all their expenses, contracts they enter into, and financial flows simply will not receive public funds. In this regard, we are introducing the exact same rules in sports associations as those that apply to state administration – he announced.

- On this new path in life, for those who have remained in the Razem party, or are leaving us, I would wish that they try to be a different kind of opposition than the PiS opposition, because I observe, for example, MP Matysiak or sometimes MP Zandberg, and I sometimes get the impression that the criticism is exactly the same, the rhetoric is similar, the criticism is the same. During the first November session, the Sejm will, in its first reading, consider a draft amendment to the Penal Code submitted by the Left Alliance and Civic Coalition (KO). According to its justification, the bill concerns "partial decriminalization of terminating a woman's pregnancy with her consent in violation of the provisions of the act on family planning, protection of the human fetus, and the conditions for the admissibility of abortion, as well as the decriminalization of assistance in self-induced abortion."

It can be assumed that during the debate, a motion to reject the bill in its first reading will be put forward. This would practically mean that it could be put to a vote as early as the session of November 6-8.

Parliamentarians submitted the proposal at the end of July, shortly after the Sejm rejected a bill on abortion depenalization prepared by the Left Alliance. At that time, the majority of the Polish People's Party (PSL) voted in the same way as Law and Justice (PiS) and Confederation.

The proposal is co-signed by Anna-Maria Żukowska from the Left Alliance and Dorota Łoboda from Civic Coalition (KO).
