Sunday's Political Agenda: PiS Family Picnic, Left's Top Candidates Unveiled

At 12:00 PM in Stalowa Wola, the #DobryCzasPL family picnic will take place with the participation of PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and former Prime Minister Beata Szydło. Speeches will begin at 1:00 PM.

At 2:00 PM, the left-wing coalition of SLD-Razem-Wiosna will present their top candidates for the autumn parliamentary elections.

09:24

Kierwiński:

If you're appealing to combat fake news, you need to do something about Prime Minister Morawiecki, as there seem to be two rulings on his words. And Marek Kuchciński's presence on the lists is a disgrace.

- If you're appealing to combat fake news, you need to do something about Prime Minister Morawiecki, as there seem to be two rulings on his words. And Marek Kuchciński's presence on the lists is a disgrace. These lists have several symbols: Zwiercan, Kuchciński, Andruszkiewicz. Lists of disgrace - said Marcin Kierwiński on Polsat News.

09:26

Zandberg:

PiS Now Defends Itself with Words: 'We Are the Same as You.' But You Were Supposed to Be Better
- PiS is now defending itself with words: 'We are the same as you.' But you were supposed to be better. Where is the work and humility? You promised change, but you gave power a Byzantium - said Adrian Zandberg on Polsat News.

09:34

Kierwiński on Neumann's Candidacy: "He's a Face of Civic Platform, a Regional Leader, Persecuted by PiS's Political Police, and Should Stay on the Top of the List."
- The goal was clear: to use the political police to find something against ~Neumann. All these accusations are a political move by PiS. If you ask me for my opinion: he is one of the faces of Civic Platform, he is a regional leader, he is being persecuted by PiS's political police, and he should remain at the top of the list - said Marcin Kierwiński when asked by Dariusz Ociepa whether, in light of publications about the wasteful management of parliamentary office funds described by SE, the head of the Civic Platform club would remain the leader of the Gdańsk KO list.

10:15

Suski:

"Once Budyonny's army was sent against Poland, now these kinds of left-wing ideologies are being sent"
"Once Budyonny's army was sent against Poland, now these kinds of left-wing ideologies are being sent" - said Marek Suski on TVP Info.

Długi from Kukiz'15: "I Will Not Be Running in These Elections"

- I will not be running in these elections - stated Grzegorz Długi on "Śniadanie w Polsat News". - I believe there are so many excellent candidates that I don't need to. I am practicing my profession - he added.

11:00

Kukiz:

We Had a Whole Embarrassing Picture of the System. The Leader Offended by Everyone, Including the Nation, Scolds the Marshal Standing with His Head Down
- We had a whole embarrassing picture of the system. The leader offended by everyone, including the nation, scolds the Marshal standing with his head down. The leader is practically offended by the citizens - well, if you want... - Paweł Kukiz said on 'Kawa na ławę' (Coffee on the Bench).

11:06

Horała on Zgorzelski and Kukiz in the studio: Two PSL representatives are on the program
- There are two representatives of the PSL in the studio - Marcin Horała said about the presence of Paweł Kukiz and Piotr Zgorzelski in the TVN studio.

11:16

Zgorzelski:

We're nearing the end of talks, a few dozen hours needed to finalize them
- We're nearing the end of talks, a few dozen hours are needed to finalize them - said Piotr Zgorzelski on Konrad Piasecki's program regarding the Senate pact.

11:16

Kukiz on Senate List: 'There are Single-Member Districts, I Think We'll Field Our Own Candidates'
- There are single-member districts, I think we'll field our own candidates. I am convinced that a situation where one party has both the Sejm, the Senate, and the president is like in the PRL. This is the worst situation because it's a party with a mentality from that era - said Paweł Kukiz on 'Kawa na ławę'.

11:26

Budka on Piasecki's question about Neumann remaining the lead candidate: CBA is not a credible institution. This is a ploy to cover up the Kuchinski, Getback, and KNF affair
- Neumann is suing the CBA for these actions and for MP Horała. The CBA is not a credible institution. This is a ploy to cover up the Kuchinski, Getback, and KNF affair. Not a single zloty was spent on private purposes - said Borys Budka in the program "Kawa na ławę".

Political Week Ahead: Accelerating Campaign, Civic Coalition National Councils, Leftist Convention, Opposition Senate Conference

The upcoming week in politics is primarily about the accelerating parliamentary election campaign. The opposition plans a joint conference regarding Senate candidates, the leftist coalition will hold a programmatic convention, and the parties within the Civic Coalition, led by Platforma Obywatelska, will convene their National Councils to approve electoral lists.

Opposition Senate Conference. According to unofficial information, the opposition plans to hold a conference next week, possibly on Monday, to announce an agreement on fielding joint candidates for the upper house of parliament. Our sources emphasize that Monday is a preliminary date, as details still need to be finalized between the individual parties.

Continued Campaigning. The upcoming week will primarily see the continuation of the election campaign, now officially underway after the president's announcement of elections. Individual parties that have registered electoral committees will continue to collect signatures for their lists. The deadline for registering committees is August 24th, but since this falls on a Saturday, the practical deadline will be the following Monday.

Civic Coalition National Councils. "We have reached agreements with our coalition partners. On Monday, the National Council of PO will convene, as will the decision-making bodies of our coalition partners: Nowoczesna, Inicjatywa Polska, and Partia Zieloni," Jan Grabiec told journalists. As reported by 300POLITYKA, the PO National Council was initially planned for the last Saturday but was postponed due to the long weekend. It will ultimately take place on Monday at 3:00 PM.

Publication of Draft Law Regulating Politicians' Flights. Michał Dworczyk announced at a recent conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM) that the draft of the so-called law regulating politicians' flights will be sent to individual parliamentary clubs for comments and opinions. "We will await them until Monday, 7:00 PM, and then, starting Tuesday morning, the draft will appear on the Public Information Bulletin website, and we will begin the official legislative process so that this project can be submitted to the Sejm session on August 30th," said the Head of the KPRM.

Leftist Convention. After presenting their lead candidates, the leftist coalition SLD-Razem-Wiosna plans to hold an electoral convention on Saturday at 1:00 PM, where they will inaugurate their election campaign and present their program for the parliamentary elections. "During the convention, we will present demands that are answers to the biggest problems faced by millions of Polish women and men. It's time that each of us no longer has to worry daily about the lack of affordable housing, the tragic state of healthcare and expensive medications, the destruction of the natural environment, and starvation pensions, the ZUS system that suffocates small businesses, and the trampling of women's rights," announced the organizers.

Kaczyński:

We're Not Saying Everything is Fine in Poland Today, There's Still a Long Way to Go. We Must Catch Up to Those West of Our Borders. But it's Better. It Turns Out It's Possible
It's worth summing things up a bit, because these meetings took place in very different parts of our country. Here we are in Podkarpacie, I've been to the east, central Poland, the far west, and the north, near Kołobrzeg. It was similar everywhere. Everywhere it was joyful. Everywhere people who participated in these meetings spoke about change. Good change. That things have improved. We're not saying, of course, that everything is fine in Poland today, there's still a long way to go. We must, after all, catch up to those who are west of our borders. But it's better. It turns out it's possible. It's possible to change Poland. We've shown that it's possible, that a government that wants to can achieve it. That there are no barriers that cannot be overcome. And this is a good experience. There's a second good experience, I believe, which is good for Poland for years, for decades, good for Polish democracy. It's that you can keep your word, that a government can be credible, that it can say something and then do it. We said it, and the vast majority of what was announced, was executed - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

14:31

Kaczyński:

Poles Decided They Wanted the Program We Presented, and That Program Has Been Realized
If in a democracy, someone announces something, I'm talking here about those who are running, about political parties, and then doesn't do it, it turns out that the entire democracy is essentially a fiction, just misleading people, a great manipulation. We have made Polish democracy real. Poles have something to say today, Poles have decided that they want the program that we presented, and that program has been realized, and that is truly very important – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

14:39

Kaczyński:

I am personally grateful to Archbishop Jędraszewski for articulating the problem of attacks on the Church in decisive, unequivocal terms
There are those in our country today who want to invade our families, our schools, our kindergartens, our lives, who want to take away our culture, our freedom, our rights. Who mock our sacred values, attack the Church, who want what is normal for us, for millions of Poles, the believing ones, but even the more skeptical ones, to be undermined. So that a simple trip to church on Sunday becomes a problem, because a brawl might happen, because there might be another attack. This must be repelled. I want to say that I am personally, but I believe that very many of you are immensely grateful to Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski for articulating this problem in decisive, unequivocal terms. This is truly a great problem for Poland today – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

14:42

Kaczyński:

Poland Must Be an Island of Freedom. We Must Defend the Family. Archbishop [Jędraszewski] Is Precisely Defending It.

- If in 5, 10 years we want to live in a Poland that is much wealthier than today, much better, but in freedom, not subject to all that is happening, unfortunately, to the west of our borders, where freedom is in essence being liquidated, where people are already punished not only through so-called hate speech, but through administrative or judicial repression, for speaking their minds, so that this does not come to our country. Poland must be an island of freedom. It must be an island of freedom, of our freedom, of Polish freedom, and Polish freedom is precisely the right to have our sacred values respected, to live as we wish. For our lives to unfold according to the rhythm that was set centuries, millennia ago by those who created our faith. At the center of all this is the family, and it is this family, the normal Polish family, or even I would say not just Polish, simply a normal family, the one that the Polish Constitution also speaks of in Article 18, that we must defend. And it is precisely this family that Archbishop [Jędraszewski] is defending - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

14:45

Kaczyński:

We are deeply, from the heart grateful to Archbishop Jędraszewski
I want to say from this place, we are Your Excellency, most distinguished Archbishop, deeply grateful, from the heart grateful. And I personally say this, because I am grateful – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola. - This offensive is ongoing, this travelling theatre which performs in successive cities. In order to provoke, and then to cry. This method, which someone very aptly described as, first provocation, and then crying, 'we are the victims'. It must be unmasked and rejected and law must prevail in our homeland. The constitutional law and that contained in other acts, because all these matters are regulated, and today unfortunately they are often not observed, and appropriate actions must be taken – added the PiS leader.

14:49

Kaczyński:

I am pleased that in Poznań the prosecutor's office has dealt with those who slit the throat of the effigy of Archbishop Jędraszewski

- I am pleased that in Poznań the prosecutor's office has dealt with those who – I apologize for this phrasing, but there is no other – slit the throat of the effigy of Archbishop Jędraszewski – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

14:54

Kaczyński:

We Will Not Allow the Polish Family to Be Broken, Polish Children to Be Demoralized and Sexualized from Kindergarten, Their Childhood Taken Away

- We will not allow the Polish family to be broken, Polish children to be demoralized and sexualized from kindergarten, their childhood taken away. We will not allow drugs, we will not allow our homeland to become something that after some time will resemble a group of people who do not know what they are doing and who are, in fact, unable to make any decisions, and decisions are made for them by those who are conducting this campaign. Because that is the goal. And I repeat: this will not succeed in Poland. We will defend Poland - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

14:55

Kaczyński:

Someone Once Said 'Let It Be As It Was.' It Won't Be As It Was. It Will Be Much Worse. Therefore, I Repeat Once More: There Is One Option, PiS

- We will defend it [Poland] if, in October, on October 13th, the right decisions are made, and I must ask for this. I must ask all of you who are here, but also from this place, I ask everyone in Poland: support those who are developing Poland and defending Polish freedom, Polish custom, Polish tradition, and our religion. Support PiS, because that is the only way today. On the other side is what you have already seen, and let's not return to that. Someone once said, 'Let it be as it was.' It won't be as it was. It will be much worse. Therefore, I repeat once more: there is one option, PiS - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

15:06

Morawiecki:

We Believe Poland Can Be Better, It's Our Fundamental Commitment to Strive Year After Year, Term After Term, for Poland to Become Ever Better

- For nearly 30 years, the elites of the Third Polish Republic convinced us that what had happened, what had befallen us, a state constructed in such a way, with such institutions as they were, i.e., the Third Republic, was the best that could have happened to us and absolutely nothing better could befall us. That's how we were convinced until 2015, and we believe that Poland can be better, that it is our fundamental commitment to strive year after year, term after term, for Poland to become ever better - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

15:10

PMM:

We Want to Shatter These Glass Ceilings Further, Specifically for Polish Families, Because This is the Foundation of Our Program

- From this perspective, PiS wants to be the party of Polish prosperity. We want to shatter these glass ceilings further, specifically for Polish families, because this is the foundation of our program and will remain the foundation of our program in the coming years. I hope, if you, the Polish people, trust us - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

15:27

PMM:

Building a Standard of Living Equal to or Better Than Western European Countries. This is Our Goal

- We have a few weeks ahead of us, perhaps decisive for decades to come, so let's ask ourselves, our friends, our closest family, whether we want a state that is strong as steel, with a steel will to implement social programs, or a cardboard state; whether we want a state that looks with faith towards the implementation of its family program, or one again filled with doubters. We want to commit ourselves in the coming years to what is most important for Poland. Building a standard of living equal to or better than that in Western European countries. This is our goal. This is our benchmark today, but I believe that in a decade or two, relative to some countries, we will surpass that standard of living, we will live better, more beautifully, and also have much more freedom - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

15:29

PMM:

We Will Not Tolerate Slitting Effigy Throats or Any Insults to Poles, Polish Faith

- We will not agree to the slitting of effigy throats, nor to any insults to Poles, Polish faith, the Polish language, or to historical lies - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

15:45

Szydło:

We Clearly State Our Intentions, Discussing Opportunities and Plans. We Keep Our Word.
Today, after 4 years, I am here again to ask for your trust once more. To ask you again to go to the elections with us, to achieve victory together, and to give ourselves a chance to continue this good time for Poland. We have the steel will and determination to ensure this good time for Poland lasts. We can do nothing without you. We need you very, very much. So I return to you with a request for your renewed trust. I also appeal to all those who perhaps are not yet entirely sure who they will vote for, or who have dilemmas, or who say that perhaps not everything that is happening is fulfilling their expectations and dreams. I want to ask you to consider during the elections whether it is worth trusting those people who keep their word, who, even if they make mistakes, learn from them, who with full determination focus on implementing the program they agreed upon with you. Even if we don't succeed the first time, we try to find other solutions. We state very clearly and plainly what we want to do. We talk about opportunities, about our plans. We keep our word - stated Beata Szydło at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

15:46

Szydło:

We Need More Years to Fully Realize Our Dream Poland Construction Plan

- Those politicians who say one thing during their election campaign and then do another, and we certainly have such experiences, remember what Civic Platform (PO) said, we will not raise the retirement age, and then one of the first plans that was implemented was precisely raising the retirement age. We said: we will return to the previous retirement age and we kept our word many times. When we prepared drafts and programs, we said that everything would be realized. Today, after 4 years, we can say: yes, most of these projects have been realized, we have kept our word. But this is only the first step. We need more years to be able to fully realize this entire plan for building the Poland of our dreams. Poles have the right to feel like masters in their own country. All of them. Regardless of who they are, where they live, what their beliefs are, how old they are. Young people have the right to realize their dreams and ambitions. Families have the right to a dignified life. We all have the right to live in a safe, developing country, one that is our common home. And this is our greatest challenge and our greatest task that lies before us - stated Beata Szydło at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

15:48

Szydło:

Everything is in our hands

- Everything is in our hands. If we are together, if we support each other, respect each other, if there is a smile on our faces and a kind word for our neighbor, then I think everyone will be happy. Let's build such a Poland. It is our common home - stated Beata Szydło at the PiS family picnic in Stalowa Wola.

19:53

Biedroń:

A United Left-Wing Club Will Be Formed

- We cannot allow this to happen [mutual destruction]. That is why a united left-wing club will be formed, which will consider how to ensure we are never divided again, because the left always wins elections when united, and loses when divided – stated Robert Biedroń in an interview with Diana Rudnik on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

19:57

Biedroń:

All Opposition Parties Forming Blocs Will Soon Sign Agreement for Joint Senate Campaign
A historic moment may occur in a few hours. All opposition parties starting from the opposition, forming these blocs, will soon sign a joint agreement for a common start in the Senate campaign - stated Robert Biedroń in an interview with Diana Rudnik on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach" (Facts After Facts).
