It was very pleasant, we talked about history, Professor Wapiński, and Lechia Gdańsk. But I know enough about Prime Minister Tusk – I am his would-be biographer – that this situational sympathy does not allow me to forget all of this. In any case, at least in such situations, the Prime Minister is not an ultras like Sikorski.”

-- SOMEONE IS INTERESTED IN COVERING UP OTHER MATTERS WITH SOME KIND OF PERMANENT STATE OF ALERT… – CENCKIEWICZ FURTHER IN WP: “I fear that someone is interested in covering up other matters with some kind of permanent state of alert… I am not saying there are no threats – there are, but when we talk about communication, it must correspond to reality so that we can all fit within it.”

However, in public communication, we cannot just scare society. We must show that we are safe, we are arming ourselves, we are modernizing the armed forces. But we must not fall into the trap of the 1930s, which has gone down in history as ‘strong, united, and ready’ and the ‘eighth world power.’ That is not the case, and it never has been. Defense is one thing, but there must be some concept of real deterrence. This means that something must be done, something must be shown.”

And in these conditions, even the postulate of expropriating the Russians from the headquarters on Belwederska becomes a ‘controversy’ for some of the ruling party. I fear that from this perceived escalation ladder, we have either already fallen, or our foot has slipped, and we are falling two rungs down.”

It is a kind of rulebook – a timetable for this and every future government, for the coming months and years. Poland and the Intermarium region must break free from the role of passive observers. We cannot constantly react to Moscow’s moves – we must set the pace ourselves. We cannot wait for decisions from Brussels, Berlin, or Paris – we must make our own.”
