Tuesday's Political Agenda: Czarzasty Meets Bundestag Vice-President, Government Discusses Sobkowiak-Czarnecka's New Role, Morawiecki Holds Press Conference

At 11:30 AM in Warsaw, a press conference will be held by PiS Vice-Chairman Mateusz Morawiecki, MPs Olga Semeniuk, Monika Pawłowska, Ryszard Bartosik, and MEP Michał Dworczyk.

At 12:00 PM, a government session will commence. The agenda includes a draft amendment to the Act on Sea Fisheries and the Act on the Organization of the Fishing Market, as well as a draft regulation establishing the Government Plenipotentiary for Strengthening State Resilience – bundled with the abolition of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Instrument for Enhancing European Security ("SAFE Instrument"). In practice, these projects concern Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka.

Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty will be on a visit to Opole, where at 1:00 PM he will meet with the Vice-President of the Bundestag, Andrea Lindholz.

Statements for the media are scheduled for 1:45 PM, and at 6:00 PM, the Marshal will participate in the jubilee concert "Friendship That Connects" on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty between Poland and Germany on good neighborliness and friendly cooperation.

Balczun on Ukraine's Actions:

The Holy War is Raging, How to Preserve the Model Beneficial to Elites and Try to Convince the West They Are on Course.

- That holy war is raging there, how to preserve a model that is so beneficial to Ukrainian elites and at the same time try to convince the West that they are on the right path and on course - said Wojciech Balczun in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

08:33

Balczun on Ukraine's Actions:

They Don't Realize How Deep a Chasm This Has Dug Between Us.

- I have the impression that they don't realize how this will resonate and how deep a chasm it has actually dug between us - Wojciech Balczun said on RMF FM.

- They have a somewhat [...] situational approach, so they think, "Okay, today we need this because the topic is beneficial for us, because we're building capital, but in a few months it will change, we'll sit down at the table and talk as we usually do and look for our interests" - he continued.

- They don't understand that they've struck a very sensitive chord, which is super important to us, and it will resonate and affect our relations - he went on to say.

08:36

Domański on the CPN Package:

From the Very Beginning, We Said These Were Temporary Solutions.

- Well, we will certainly see [how much prices will rise at petrol stations tomorrow], it will vary from station to station. We know that the differentiation between stations is often high, even within one city, one province, so of course these changes will differ at different stations - said Andrzej Domański in a conversation with Marcin Fijołek in Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- No, as I said, I will not provide such calculations at the moment. We know that the CPN package, it was communicated very clearly from the very beginning, was a temporary package, related to the situation in the Middle East, to the war in the Middle East, to the fact that oil prices shot up to even 115-116 dollars per barrel. Today it is 70 dollars - he continued.

- I remember, we discussed in this studio what if, what would happen if oil was at 150 dollars per barrel? Fortunately, this scenario did not materialize. Our government introduced the largest shield package for drivers in Europe, both lower excise duty and VAT. And from the very beginning, we said that these were temporary solutions - the Minister of Finance emphasized.

08:40

Balczun on the Conference in Gdańsk:

A Great Success for Poland, It Was Perfectly Organized.

"The conference in Gdańsk, which I assess very positively, meaning I consider it a great success for Poland above all, was perfectly organized [...] At the same time, the fact that Zelensky did not fly or arrive also meant that it had a much larger business dimension, and at the business level, as always, pragmatism counts" - said Wojciech Balczun on RMF FM.

08:44

Balczun:

Without Deep Restructuring, JSW Won't Survive on its Current Financial Model

"I have the impression that trade unions, for the most part, though not all, I don't want to generalize, are pursuing a political agenda rather than genuine concern for the company," said Wojciech Balczun on RMF FM, when asked if JSW faces bankruptcy and if signals from employees and trade unions are not good.

"We dedicate every day to JSW, and some statements, some published materials, unfortunately, hinder the process of securing financing, because currently [...] the management is in the process of obtaining commercial financing, and such international funds are very carefully observing the prospects," he continued.

"The loss over the year has been halved. [...] A restructuring program is being implemented, one-off severance payments are being introduced, and mining leaves, which are financed with an amount exceeding PLN 500 million, are now starting," he further stated.

"There is still a liquidity gap, which we identified a few months ago, and we are fighting by all means to ensure the company survives this period. Prospects and market signals offer a slight cause for optimism, but without deep restructuring, JSW will not survive on its current financial model," he concluded.

Coalition Talks Also Underway. Domański on Tax Solutions and Electoral Strategy

- Regarding tax solutions, we are, of course, working on them. Coalition talks are also underway in the Ministry of Finance. Discussions are also beginning, slowly discussions are starting on the budget for 2027, so let's give ourselves a little more time here - stated Andrzej Domański in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

- There are no such talks [that I need to find money for an electoral gift]. Our government is pursuing a very pro-investment policy in the economic sphere. We see this in many areas, including energy transformation. I am also focusing on ensuring economic growth. This, I believe, has electoral implications. Inflation, despite what happened with oil prices, is being kept at a low level - the Minister of Finance continued.

- We remember, under the rule of PiS, it reached even 18% at its peak. That high cost of living hit Poles' wallets. So, answering the editor's question - of course, we are working on solutions for 2027. Civic Coalition is also working on an electoral strategy, on specific solutions that we will discuss, but that will be only in 2027 - he added.

08:51

Domański:

I will meet with Pełczyńska-Nałęcz to discuss Poland 2050's proposals

- Minister Szłapka, with whom we speak daily, is of course right in saying that the Ministry of Finance is analyzing possible solutions for changes to the tax system. Many changes and proposals for changes are emerging, and our coalition partners are also submitting them. I recently had a meeting with representatives of PSL. It was a very constructive, good conversation - stated Andrzej Domański in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

- I will also meet with Minister Pełczyńska-Nałęcz to discuss the proposals submitted by Poland 2050. We also have, I would say, regular contact with The Left regarding their proposals, but of course, all of this must fit within economic realities. The economic realities are that we have high economic growth dynamics, low inflation, but at the same time, we are spending 5% of our GDP on security - he continued.

08:54

Balczun on the theory of alleged JSW sale plans:

There is no such option.

"I would also like to debunk one more thing, because such information is appearing, that everything that is being done around JSW boils down to us wanting to sell it to someone for a zloty. There is no such option. There is no such plan. We treat the company as a strategic state asset" - said Wojciech Balczun in RMF FM.

09:15

Domański:

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz's Radical Left Turn is Visible to All

- This radical left turn in Minister Pełczyńska-Nałęcz's rhetoric is probably visible to everyone, so I would probably agree with the general sentiment expressed by Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz. Every party naturally has the right to shape its narrative, including on economic matters, and to change it. But facts are facts, and we see here a very significant departure from the ideas on which, as I understand it, Polska 2050 was founded - stated Andrzej Domański on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

09:24

Domański on Relations with Ukraine:

Growing Nationalism Serves No One.

- Here we are dealing with, probably, this unnecessary tension in Polish-Ukrainian relations. I believe these moves from the Ukrainian side were absolutely unnecessary and do not serve Ukraine, nor do they serve the building of its security. But these are mistakes, in my assessment, made by the Ukrainian side - stated Andrzej Domański on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- We know how the whole story began, and this kind of growing nationalism, growing hostility on both sides, including in public debate, including what is appearing more and more often now on social media, hate, frankly speaking hate, this really serves no one. It also does not serve Poland - he continued.

09:32

"This Will Still Be Thoroughly Investigated." Domański on the President's Vetoes' "Strange Stories"

- Of course, we don't know to what extent this rise in the polls is a survey, a lasting rise. We know that these confidence polls for politicians are subject to very large fluctuations, and certainly, the vetoes on the crypto assets market act were very, very harmful. We know that there are many strange stories behind these presidential decisions, also behind some votes in the Sejm - said Andrzej Domański in "Graffiti" Polsat News.

- I think this will still be thoroughly investigated. We know that the crypto assets market requires regulation. It requires the kind of protection that people investing in other assets have. I don't invest in crypto assets myself, I've never saved that way. But of course, everyone has the right to make their own choice about how they want to place their savings. I prefer more transparent markets - he continued.

June 29th: Project Submitted to the Sejm. Bogucki on Nawrocki's Initiative to Establish the Day of the Anti-Communist Opposition Activist

"President of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki has submitted a draft bill to the Sejm to establish June 28th as the Day of the Anti-Communist Opposition Activist and Person Repressed for Political Reasons." - wrote Zbigniew Bogucki on X.

"On June 28th, the President announced the signing of the legislative initiative, and on June 29th, the project was already submitted to the Sejm. This initiative is a direct response to the demands of veteran communities and the Council for Veterans operating under the President of the Republic of Poland." - he continued in his post.

"The choice of date has deep historical and symbolic justification – it refers to the anniversaries of workers' uprisings: the Poznań June of 1956, which initiated the unarmed struggle for freedom and dignity in the Polish People's Republic, and the Radom June of 1976." - he emphasized.

11:39

Morawiecki:

Zelensky's Scandalous Decision Opens a Front of Dispute with Poland. Where is Tusk's Reaction?

- Zelensky's scandalous decision opens a front of dispute with Poland. He wants to commemorate UPA criminals. Perhaps the front with the Russians is no longer enough for him, and he is looking for other provocations. I ask – where is Donald Tusk's reaction? - stated Mateusz Morawiecki in a recording published on social media.

- Polish patriots, led by President Karol Nawrocki, are defending national memory, while the government buries its head in the sand and allows Kyiv to cross further boundaries. Poland says 'enough'. Without the truth about Volhynia, without exhumations, and without an end to the cult of Bandera, there is no consent for further negotiations between Ukraine and the European Union. Tusk is not reacting, but we, Poles, have no right to remain silent - he emphasized.

12:10

Case:

The Time Will Come to Settle Accounts for the Lies on Which Careers Were Built for Years."Szefernaker on the 'Two Towers

- For years, they have been building their political strength on false narratives, lies, half-truths, and convenient myths. The 'two towers' case was supposed to be their grand accusation. It was meant to be a symbol. It was intended to cover up their lack of a program, lack of responsibility, and lack of respect for facts - wrote Paweł Szefernaker on social media.

- Today, the proceedings have been discontinued. The truth cannot be shouted down with conferences, emotions, and political theatre. Many of them would not be in public life today if not for Donald Tusk – his patronage, his decisions, and his political system. Poles have a good memory. The time will come to settle accounts for the lies on which careers were built for years - emphasized the head of the President's Chancellery.

12:11

I Call on Tusk to Unfreeze the Law. Morawiecki on the Issue of 'UPA Criminals'

- President Zelensky's words were extremely harmful, extremely irresponsible, and were merely a certain apex, a certain culmination of a whole series of events, a whole process that we have observed in recent months, in recent years, and particularly in recent weeks, since the naming of a military unit after [...] UPA heroes - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

- This is a disgraceful act that has brought Polish-Ukrainian relations to a state they haven't been in for a long time, and to which a reaction must be absolutely fundamental - he continued.

- Firstly, I call on the current government to stop burying their heads in the sand. I call on Donald Tusk to unfreeze the law from the Sejm's freezer, which was submitted by Mr. President Karol Nawrocki and by Law and Justice. In this law, we unequivocally define the UPA criminals [...] as criminals guilty of genocide - he further stated.

12:24

Morawiecki:

You from PSL, Together with Us and Konfederacja, Can Pass Any Law We Desire

- There is no hiding your heads in the sand for those currently in power, not just Donald Tusk, but also the leaders of the ruling coalition. You, from the PSL, can pass any law we desire together with us, and together with Konfederacja - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

- We are therefore calling on you to adopt the changes proposed by the President and by our parliamentary club, Law and Justice - he continued.

12:28

Morawiecki:

I Demand the Deportation of All Who Use Symbols Associated with WWII Ukrainian Nationalists in Poland

- The change will also concern Article 256 of the Penal Code, so that a person who glorifies the UPA, who uses symbols, various medals, emblems associated with Ukrainian nationalists from the Second World War period, will unequivocally face punishment - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

- I demand the deportation of all persons who use such symbols in Poland. The adoption of such a law will give us a legal basis for such actions, leaving no room for doubt - he continued.

- If the Mayor of Lviv comes here, immediate deportation. Expulsion of people who glorify the UPA online, who praise Bandera - he further stated.

12:32

Morawiecki:

I'm Donating the Medal Awarded for the First Phase of the War to the Museum of the Volhynian Massacre

- I am personally donating the medal awarded to me for the first phase of the war [...] I am donating this medal to the Museum of the Volhynian Massacre. The reason for donating it to the Museum of the Volhynian Massacre is so that every Polish and foreign visitor to the museum will have an additional element [...] to reflect on what that extremely cruel, macabre crime of Volhynia was - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

12:38

European Parliament Recognizes UPA as Organization of Nazi Character... PiS MEPs Submit Amendment to Ukraine Report

- Today we are submitting an amendment, an amendment to the European Parliament's report on Ukraine, which will be voted on in Strasbourg next week by the European Parliament - said Michał Dworczyk at a press conference.

- In this report, we propose to include the following fragment, among others: "The European Parliament recognizes the UPA as an organization of Nazi character, responsible for mass crimes against civilian populations, Polish and Jewish, whose glorification is incompatible with European values." - he continued.

- We have also appealed to all Polish MEPs, regardless of which political faction or party they represent, to sign this amendment so that we can jointly include it in this document - he went on to say.

14:39

Sobkowiak-Czarnecka Takes on Another Role. Szłapka Announces

- Minister Sobkowiak-Czarnecka will become the new government plenipotentiary for strengthening state resilience, relinquishing her role as government plenipotentiary for the implementation of the SAFE instrument. This is related to moving to the next stage - stated Adam Szłapka at a press briefing.

14:54

Szłapka on the whistleblower doctor's case:

It's good that this hearing took place.

- It's good that this hearing [of the whistleblower doctor] took place. We all want this matter to be clarified. All irregularities, especially in situations like the one we are dealing with regarding criminal charges, so that these individuals simply bear full responsibility - stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference.

14:55

Kaczyński:

'Necro-Scandal' As a Lens into Tusk's Governance

"The Southern Hospital and further scandalous reports about the practices there are reminiscent of the 'skin hunters' case. Everything happened under the supervision and watch of KO politicians. The 'Necro-Scandal' as if in a lens, shows what Tusk's governance leads to." - Jarosław Kaczyński wrote on X.

15:00

Tusk's Meeting on NFZ Funding: Szłapka Details

- A meeting with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Health, and the leadership of the National Health Fund (NFZ) is currently underway. Minister Domański is also participating, and it concerns the funding of the NFZ. It was planned some time in advance - stated Adam Szłapka at a press briefing.

15:23

Nawrocki:

I Have a Duty to Impose the Nation's Will on Those Who Don't Feel Particularly Obligated to Poles

- When I argue that good relations between Poland and the United States are strategic and essential for our security, when I take care of them and strive to make them the best possible, I first hear laughter, and then attacks and criticism. After a few days, the same people are competing for the palm of primacy in building Fort Trump - wrote Karol Nawrocki on social media.

- When I make decisions in line with Poland's raison d'état regarding Ukraine, which increasingly crosses the boundaries of good neighborly relations, the scenario repeats itself. There are attempts to scandalously equate the President of our own country with the President of a country that venerates genocidaires who murdered Poles. And again, after a few days, (some) politicians, as it were, mature and begin to understand their mistake - emphasized the President of the Republic of Poland.

"I am pleased by this! This is how I imagine the role of the President of the Republic of Poland. I am part of the Nation that elected me, my heart beats with a Polish rhythm. I speak with the voice of Polish women and men and stand guard over their interests. I am faithful to Poland.

Therefore, I have a duty to impose the Nation's will on those who do not feel particularly obligated to Polish women and men. To those who have shut themselves off in the world of political calculations, poll numbers, or tribal struggles, thereby losing touch with social reality and the expectations of citizens.

Long live Poland, long live Poles!"

19:52

Bosak:

Poland Should Withdraw from EU's Ukraine Financing Program

- In my assessment, Poland should be withdrawn from the European Union's program for financing Ukraine. I think far too few Poles are still aware that PiS, Civic Platform, The Left, PSL, all these parties have dragged Poland into a mechanism of joint debt issuance with other EU countries and unconditional money transfers to Kyiv, without any oversight - said Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń" program.

- Poland should withdraw from this program, just like Hungary and Slovakia. This is a voluntary program, the EU is not forcing us into it - he continued.

19:57

Bosak Appeals to Polish Politicians:

Stop Fawning Over Them.

- I am not postulating that we should hinder Ukrainians in waging war, but there is a big difference between not hindering them in waging war and between funding them unconditionally, and furthermore, fawning at the diplomatic level, traveling for a photo opportunity first to Brussels, then to Gdańsk, then to Kyiv - said Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News.

- My postulate to Polish politicians: stop fawning over them - he continued.

20:00

Bosak Comments on Sikorski's Proposal:

To Untrue to Suggest That Commemorating Victims is Equivalent to Glorifying Murderers.

- I have doubts about whether diplomacy will be tasked effectively, listening for example to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sikorski, who said that we should respond to the pantheon of these so-called Ukrainian heroes by, for example, naming the airport in Jasionka the Airport of UPA Victims - said Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News.

- I believe that suggesting that commemorating victims is equivalent to glorifying murderers is untrue; these are not equivalent actions - he continued.

20:04

Bosak:

The Question of the Ukrainian Authorities' Actual Goals

- The question of what the actual goals of the Ukrainian state authorities are, in my opinion, is a question we have asked ourselves quite rarely - said Krzysztof Bosak in Polsat News.

- I am afraid so - he continued, when asked if there are any other goals today besides winning against Russia.

- It seems to me that the Ukrainian elites [...] there is no shortage of voices among analysts that these elites have dreamt of becoming the new pole of power in Central-Eastern Europe. If you look around, the rival for such a pole is Poland - he went on to say, when asked what goals.

- Poland is here in this region of Europe [...] a country with the greatest potential. Therefore, if someone wants to dominate this region, they must dominate us, they must dominate Poland - he added.

20:10

MiGs for Drones? Bosak: The Deputy Prime Minister Won't Achieve Anything This Way with the Ukrainian Side

- In my opinion, this is a proposal made for the Polish public opinion. In my assessment, the Deputy Prime Minister won't achieve anything this way with the Ukrainian side - said Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News, when asked if he agreed with the "MiGs for Drones" proposal formulated by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

- In my opinion, if he wants to achieve anything with them, he shouldn't negotiate through the media, although of course, he should negotiate - he continued.

- It's good that further aircraft were not transferred unconditionally, I am ready to praise that - he added.

- From what I have heard from the defense industry and from officers, the Ukrainian side is absolutely in no hurry to share any technologies or experiences with the Polish side [...] I wouldn't expect any technologies to be transferred here - he added.

20:17

Bosak on the Medical Community:

They Have No Hope in This Government.

- I read the entire position of President Jankowski, combative, I would say [...] it's a strongly political stance. Little substantive and heavily political. It's a stance that formulates a proposal for leadership for the medical community to win a confrontation with the government, and in my opinion, this reflects the state of mind and internal discussion within the medical community, or at least a certain part of the medical elites - said Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News.

- They completely have no hope in this government, which I think is very bad news for the Civic Coalition, The Left, and the Polish People's Party, because these are parties generally associated with the establishment. If a part of the establishment, let's not kid ourselves, a part of the medical community is an establishment in Poland, if it openly declares war on them, i.e., the ruling coalition... - he continued.

- A strategy is laid out there on how to cause them to lose voters - he went on to say.

20:29

Hennig-Kloska Criticizes a Coalition MP:

His Law Aims to Tie My Hands.

- Are there those who put spokes in the wheels? Of course, there are. The law proposed by MP Romowicz, who is an MP from our coalition, and who wants to tie my [hands], my former colleague, is one of the reasons for my departure from the Poland 2050 club. I couldn't imagine someone like that shaping environmental policy, because this law he submitted aims to tie my hands, so that I couldn't apply this last form of nature protection to valuable ecosystems, which is the establishment of reserves - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach" (Facts after Facts).

20:31

Hennig-Kloska on Hołownia:

I have the impression that he has reached similar conclusions as I did many months ago.

- We haven't had a chance to talk since these recent media reports, but I have the impression that [Szymon Hołownia] has reached similar conclusions as I did many months ago - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in "Fakty po faktach" on TVN24.
