Tusk on 'Economic Nationalism':

We Will Not Allow External Forces to Influence What We Produce, What We Want to Buy.

Mateusz Nowak

- It is not patriotism to yield to lobbyists, it is not patriotism to sell petrol stations to Orbán as happened a few years ago, yes, over 400 petrol stations, and in light of what we hear and see today, these petrol stations ended up with a company controlled by a politician, Putin's closest ally - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the inauguration of "Local Content. Benefitting Poland".

- I am only mentioning one example, a readily available one, of how important such wise, responsible, economic nationalism is. This is not my word, as you know, I do not use this word. I deeply believe in a European Poland and in a Polish Europe too [...] but when I speak of this economic nationalism, I have precisely these types of decisions in mind - he continued.

- We will not allow, and it can no longer happen in Poland, that what we do here in Poland, what we produce, what we want to buy, is influenced by external forces due to their interests. And it should no longer matter to anyone, be it strength or other types of relations with countries, especially those outside Europe. Our task is to promote Polish production. Period. - he went on to say.

- It is not patriotism, and he is not a patriot, for a politician to promote, I don't know, Chinese, German, or American production, against Polish interests, and this often happens. And we will definitively put an end to this - he added.
