Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on Health Education:

The Ministry of Education is Offering a Solution That Was on the Table a Year Ago.

"It makes one furious to see what's happening in education. A year ago, as Polska 2050, we said: health education should be compulsory outside of the sex education module. What did the Ministry say to that? NO. Everything is supposed to be compulsory… after which Barbara Nowacka changed her mind and everything became voluntary." - wrote Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on X.

"After a year, the majority of students have opted out of health education, and the subject itself has unfortunately become a meme. And now the Ministry of Education is offering a solution that was on the table a year ago." - she continued in her post.

"Another important reform: a ban on smartphones in schools. And what? The same thing. Everyone sees the psychological devastation caused by youth addiction to screens. Many countries already protect students and have introduced such solutions. Meanwhile, our bill on this matter has been lying in the Sejm for half a year. The project is being frozen by Minister Nowacka's party colleague – Ms. Szumilas – in the Education Committee." - she stated.

"And the Ministry of Education? For months, it criticized our idea, only to change its mind. But the Minister of Education won't adopt a bill from another coalition partner, instead, they will start weeks of work on a new one. As a result, if the ban on smartphones in schools is implemented at all, it will be at the last minute (we have 2 months of the school year left), with no time for preparation for schools and teachers. This mode of operation truly makes no sense." - she added.

"So, perhaps this time it's worth doing things differently? To proceed cooperatively with the bill that is in the Sejm, regardless of whose project it is. To implement changes in schools in a timely manner. For the benefit of education, students, and parents. To preempt questions: yes, we tried to talk to Minister Nowacka behind closed doors. The Minister rejected the invitation to our Club in the Sejm." - she noted.
