Kierwiński Addresses Nawrocki:
Please Don't Listen to Your Colleagues from PiS and Sign This Law.
- As you know, the Ministry of Interior and Administration is to be one of the beneficiaries of the SAFE program. Almost 8 billion [zlotys] of these funds are to go to services subordinate to the Ministry of Interior and Administration […] to the Fire Brigade, to the Police, to the Border Guard, to the State Protection Service - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference in Opole.
- Today, unfortunately, it must be said clearly, these funds are at risk. They are at risk because we hear from some politicians, unreasonable politicians, that President Nawrocki should veto this law - he stated.
As he emphasized: - Vetoing this law, in the context of all the analyses we have, means that enormous funds will not reach the Polish police, nor the Polish Border Guard. The army will manage without the law. It will cost a lot of effort, a lot of hard work, and also a lot of lost money, but there are legal possibilities for these funds within SAFE to reach the army, even without the law. However, in the case of services subordinate to the Ministry of Interior and Administration, such direct possibilities do not exist.
- Therefore, I appeal to President Nawrocki. Mr. President, in the name of strengthening Polish security, in the name of responsibility for the state, in the name of responsibility for the uniformed services that guard the security of Poles every day - please do not listen to your colleagues from PiS, please do not listen to the nonsense and babble they are talking. Please sign this law. These funds are very, very much needed by the services of the Ministry of Interior and Administration - he appealed.
