"I think we cannot escape the fact that demographics are what they are in Poland, and therefore, if such processes are necessary, they will probably have to be expected," said Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda on Radio ZET, when asked if more maternity wards would be closed.

"We are ensuring women by providing professional midwifery services and a place for such births, which should be secured if a midwife cannot arrive or if there is such a need," she continued.
