President Karol Nawrocki is commencing his visit to Davos for the World Economic Forum. Today's schedule includes a meeting with the President of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, at 13:15, followed by a meeting with the President of the World Bank Group, Ajay Banga, at 15:00.

At 15:00, the Sejm's Constitutional Accountability Committee will hold a closed-door hearing to question Kamila Sukiennik, Krzysztof Senderowicz, and Robert Szumski – concerning the preliminary motion to hold the President of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński, constitutionally accountable before the State Tribunal.

- An invitation has been extended by President Donald Trump to President Karol Nawrocki to join the Peace Council. This is a new format proposed by the President of the United States. Leaders of about 60 countries have received such invitations. We don't know exactly who, as not everyone has publicly announced it yet, but we do know for sure that Canada, Germany, France, Turkey, of course also Russia and Belarus, from what we hear, Hungary, while many countries have received an invitation to participate in the Peace Council - said Rafał Leśkiewicz in “First Interview of the Day” on TV Republika.

- The President has not yet made any decision. Primarily, he is acting very responsibly because he is cooperating with the government in this regard. The President has sent a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is a formal reception of Article 133 of the Polish Constitution on cooperation in the implementation of international policy, for an opinion regarding the formal aspects of joining the Peace Council, and we will find out the President's decision soon - Rafał Leśkiewicz continued.

- The President has inaugurated Poland's preparations for the G20 summit, which will take place in December this year in Miami. Yesterday, at the Presidential Palace, the President met with Polish entrepreneurs to discuss opportunities for the development of Polish companies in global markets, and this is the essence, this is extremely important. - It seems that regarding the budget bill, the President performed a kind of 'chocholi dance' that brought nothing but political confusion and political fuel for Law and Justice politicians, who even threatened early elections, which were never possible in the case of a budget bill. That he signed it is good, and that should be the end of it. - We have sent an appropriate letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requesting an opinion on this matter [the Peace Council]. We have not yet received a response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since yesterday, although time is crucial here, as we know, the Americans also want to discuss this here in Davos, meaning the next 3 days, so we hope that the work in the government, the expert, and the advisory work will accelerate somewhat - stated Marcin Przydacz on RMF FM.

- There is no such decision today [regarding sending soldiers to the Gaza Strip], nor are there any hard expectations from the USA when it comes to military presence, however, it cannot be ruled out that this discussion might head in that direction in the future - stated Marcin Przydacz on RMF FM.

- Naturally, there is this controversy, which we all know about: politicians are invited to the Peace Council with whom President Nawrocki certainly does not see eye to eye. Precisely, these are figures for whom, for obvious reasons, we do not recognize the functioning in such a formula of Alexander Lukashenko, and on the other hand, we all know that Vladimir Putin is an aggressor, but it is the American side that decides on the composition here. As we know, this council is to have almost 60 participants - stated Marcin Przydacz on RMF FM.

- I haven't formed an opinion. However, if we're talking about the debate [between Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz and Paulina Hennig-Kloska before the second round], I believe that it should be an internal party debate - said Agnieszka Buczyńska on "Poranek TOK FM".

- This debate should be directed towards party members who have the right to vote, who make the decisions. These are not general elections in our country, but internal elections of Poland 2050. - Poland's accession to an international organization requires the consent of the Council of Ministers and ratification by parliament. Besides, similar processes take place in the United States, so, like any serious decision, it requires deliberation - said Cezary Tomczyk in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- There are many controversies associated with this council, mainly concerning the presence of Vladimir Putin and Lukashenko there, but I think we need to know more details to be able to make this decision consciously - he continued.

- This is the competence of the national electoral commission, so it's difficult for me to speak on behalf of the national electoral commission. However, from my side, I can say that it would obviously be good to verify the final version of the system in which these elections will be conducted. But I wouldn't want to encroach on the competences of the national electoral commission here - said Agnieszka Buczyńska in "Poranek TOK FM", when asked if Poland 2050 would choose a different voting system.

When pressed whether it was already certain that the repeated second round would be remote, she replied: - Yes, it is decided.

- Not only is there no such decision, but there are also no such plans, meaning Poland is not sending and will not send Polish soldiers to Greenland - said Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24.

- Because we have other tasks, because we currently have 5,000 soldiers on the border with Belarus, because we are in 10 places around the world with our contingents - he continued.

- Today, we absolutely must support the Polish Prime Minister, but also the President, if the need arises, in order to build the unity of Europe and the unity between Europe and the United States - said Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24.

- This is also the dimension of Polish engagement today, so when you ask about Greenland, let's realize that Poland truly has an exceptional alliance with the United States and can also be that country which is exceptionally listened to from the perspective of relations between Europe and the United States - he continued.

- I would also like to see the President's opinion, stating which social group or which Polish division he would like to take equipment from - Cezary Tomczyk said on TVN24, when asked about the President's criticism of the budget in the context of a large deficit.

- It is exactly 4.81, meaning close to 5% of GDP for defense, over 200 billion zlotys, and this is the largest defense expenditure in Poland's history. [...] The President is also making a mistake from an international perspective in this matter, because Poland, precisely on security issues, truly needs to speak with one voice - he continued, when asked about the President's pointing out the absence of a provision regarding 5% of GDP for defense.

- I quote Donald Trump, who says: Poland is a model ally, it spends close to 5% of GDP on defense. And if Donald Trump says this, and Karol Nawrocki does not, it means that Karol Nawrocki has confused his role as President of the Republic of Poland - he went on to say.

- Tusk's team boasts of others' successes because they have none of their own. So what do they do? They boast about things that were actually created earlier. The Jantar Unity ferry, a project initiated under the PiS government. Offshore wind energy in the Baltic Sea – the result of decisions and actions by my government. Via Baltica – they say they built it, but the facts are that it was our absolute priority - stated Mateusz Morawiecki in a recording published on social media.

- Hundreds of kilometers of this route were built while we were in power. Local investments being opened with great fanfare now – isn't this funding from Polski Ład, a PiS program that they abolished? The dam on the border? They were against its construction, now they boast about it and hold conferences there. In a word: hypocrites. Poles do not want amateurism, they do not want incompetence; we will chase them away with a bang, and very soon - emphasized the former prime minister.

"This is an interesting solution" - said Ryszard Terlecki in a statement to TVP Info.

"Of course" - he continued, when asked if he would accept an invitation from Donald Trump.

"First of all, we need to see how it will look with regard to the 60 people invited," he added, when asked if he would do so without hesitation.

"Putin will not come and sit down, but Russia participates in the UN and various international organizations, and somehow no one sees a problem with that. And suddenly it becomes a problem," he added, when pressed by Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz about the fact that it was PiS (Law and Justice party) that said Lech Kaczyński was murdered by Vladimir Putin, and whether Putin can now come and sit at the table at a time when he is murdering in Ukraine.

"This is a project to establish an organization that would be more efficient than the UN and would work for peace," he stated, after the journalist pointed out that it is evident Trump wants to make a deal with Putin.

"The same thing happens in the UN," he stated, when asked why it would be more efficient, given that Putin does not want peace and everything he does is playing for time.

"A few days ago, at the request of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, a meeting took place between President Karol Nawrocki and Minister Marcin Kierwiński, concerning the situation in the State Protection Service. - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Paulina Hennig-Kloska, I hope she wins the election. It's supposed to take place by January 31st, and everything indicates that she has a huge chance - Ryszard Petru said in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio ZET's "Three Questions at the End of the Day," when asked who would be the leader of Poland 2050.

- Concessions are always a sign of weakness. Europe cannot afford weakness – neither towards its enemies nor towards its allies. Concessions yield no results, only humiliation. European assertiveness and self-confidence have become the need of the moment – wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

- I believe that over the past year, Ms. Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz managed the party more than Szymon; Szymon was running in the presidential elections - Ryszard Petru said on Radio ZET, when asked if Hołownia had dragged the party down.

- We are a member of the ruling coalition, and one can have reservations about our actions over the last several good months, nevertheless, the fact is that we will be deciding on several important positions in the government, and this vote has an impact. If someone wanted to manipulate it, they could certainly want to influence the ruling coalition through it as well - he continued.

"Under no circumstances. There can be no Peace Council with Mr. Putin," Ryszard Petru stated on Radio ZET when asked if President Nawrocki should join the Peace Council.

"We have our own interests as Europe [...] how do you imagine [...] the President of Poland sitting between President Putin and Lukashenka, or next to Lukashenka?" he continued.

"There should be a common stance of the European Union minus Orbán [...] if the European Union does not join as a community and a significant majority of countries on these fundamental issues, then this Peace Council will not be taken seriously. Therefore, it is impossible to create a Peace Council based on the US, Russia, Belarus, and with a leader who unleashed a war and, what's more, does not want to end it," he went on to say.

When we start an electoral process, and we make agreements with people who engage in it, it should be finished.
