Czarzasty Comments on Three Presidential Vetoes:
He Specializes in Destruction and Conflict.
- I think President Nawrocki specializes in destruction and conflict. It makes no impression on me, because if I were to ask what law the President has had processed, I would want to tell you that none. Therefore, if the President simply feels like being the world champion in not signing laws in Poland, he probably is, but is that championship worth anything? - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".
08:02
Czarzasty on Bogucki:
His Speeches Amuse Me.
- Minister Bogucki, the head of the Presidential Chancellery, when he comes to the Sejm, gives speeches that, to be honest, personally amuse me. Because these are speeches where 90% of the time is dedicated to pure politics, half of which is dedicated to Mr. Tusk and generally revolves around Mr. Tusk's visit and meeting with Putin on the pier in Sopot, and the other half is dedicated to me and the PZPR - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.
08:25
Czarzasty Attacks Nawrocki:
He Specializes in Beating People in the Woods.
- I'm not particularly interested in the complexes of a man who generally specializes in beating people in the woods. I don't know what the President lost; it seems to me that Poland lost no subjectivity, I am even certain of it. We should be building our subjectivity even further, and that's simply how it will be - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in 'Graffiti' on Polsat News.
08:32
Czarzasty on Miller:
I Don't Comment on People Praising Putin.
- I would prefer not to comment on Mr. Miller's words, because it seems to me, I mean he says things that I don't understand at all. I don't comment on people praising Putin. Because it seems to me that something is perhaps going wrong in the thinking of these individuals, but since I've known Leszek for a long time, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in "Graffiti" Polsat News.
08:34
- I believe in this coalition, I support this coalition, I think this coalition is doing a lot of good. I also believe that this coalition is mistaken on several matters, and a correction is clearly needed here. That's what the second half of the term is for - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on Polsat News's "Graffiti".
08:38
- These funds should come from frozen Russian assets, not from common debt. Nobody outplayed Tusk in Europe again - wrote Marcin Przydacz on social media.
Te środki powinny pochodzić z zamrożonych funduszy rosyjskich, a nie ze wspólnego długu.

Sawicki:
It would be good if Nawrocki first removed post-communism from his political circles
- President Nawrocki yesterday did not notice that, of course, perhaps symbolically he wanted to end post-communism in the palace, but he did not end it in the Sejm, because the loudest, most emphatic applause for the President, not only on this matter, comes from Mr. Krasulski, an MP, a member of the PZPR, if I remember correctly also some NCO of ZOMO - said Marek Sawicki in an interview with Renata Grochal in the program "Bez uników" on Trójka.
- It would be good if Mr. Nawrocki, when he is removing post-communism, removed it from his own political circles first - he continued.
- Still Mr. Jasiński, still Mr. Kujda, still Mr. Piotrowicz in the illegal tribunal, so there are really quite a lot of these people, and our post-communists are good because they are loyal to us, those others are bad because they are some kind of symbol. So it is astonishing that a historian cannot rise to an objective assessment - he continued.
08:52
Sawicki:
The President is Trying to Rewrite History. The Kaczyńskis are Beneficiaries of Communism
- But Jarosław Kaczyński also worked in these teams, so it is clear evidence that President Nawrocki, after several years of work at the IPN, is trying to rewrite history – Marek Sawicki said on Trójka, when asked if President Nawrocki is distancing himself from Lech Kaczyński, who participated in the Round Table talks.
- Perhaps he will erase the Kaczyńskis from this history, who were also in some way connected to the post-communist era, because it is no secret that both brothers lived in post-war Poland as children and youth in conditions that were at least luxurious for those times, given a villa in devastated Warsaw, good schools, and even celebrity careers in films – he continued.
- Normal children, like me, from the countryside did not have access to this, while they wallowed in luxury, thus they are beneficiaries of communism, and today, perhaps for personal reasons, in gratitude for Jarosław Kaczyński agreeing for him to run for President of the Republic, Karol Nawrocki is trying to truly complete the post-communist era, including the Kaczyńskis, and erase them from history – he went on to say.
09:02
- Karol Nawrocki has one principle: he complains about the large budget deficit we inherited from our predecessors, and whenever there are small attempts, small adjustments to mitigate this deficit, Karol Nawrocki says 'no.' Karol Nawrocki says 'no' and at the same time demands money for more groups for more tasks, for more actions - Marek Sawicki said on Trójka, when asked about the president's recent vetoes.
- But frankly, when it comes to this sugar or fat tax, and also alcohol excise, Lewica walks in lockstep with Karol Nawrocki. Because this tax was intended to protect our health, it was meant to contribute to a decrease in the consumption of sugar, and in the future [...] fat and alcohol, while Lewica says that this tax should be allocated to healthcare and makes the future financing of our health dependent on that - he continued.
- One cannot make the National Health Fund dependent on uncertain revenues, and if the intention of the ruling politicians is to reduce the consumption of alcohol, fat, and sugar, then this cannot be contributed to the National Health Fund and the quality of medical services made dependent on it - he went on to say.
09:11
Zandberg on Alcohol Excise Duty:
There have been presidential vetoes that were sensible, but I assess this veto negatively.
- Badly. Perhaps there are people who will not like this, but I believe that if we were to use the funds from alcohol taxation to ensure there is money for treating people, then I truly do not understand the president's decision not to do so in the current situation we have in public healthcare – said Adrian Zandberg in the "Morning Ring" program of Super Express, when asked about the president's veto regarding the increase in excise duty on alcohol.
- I am very critical of the things this government is doing, what this government is up to. There have been presidential vetoes that were sensible, but I assess this presidential veto negatively, simply negatively – he indicated.
09:11
Sawicki on Zelensky:
He's Cornered, He Must Accept Our Terms.
- Nothing special will happen, I suspect the sides will stick to their guns - Marek Sawicki said on Trójka, when asked what he expected from Volodymyr Zelensky's visit.
- There won't be [two separate communiqués]. I believe President Zelensky is cornered and knows that without the logistical hub that Poland, specifically Rzeszów, represents, he cannot continue this war, so he must accept our terms - he continued.
09:16
Sawicki on Tusk's Actions:
It will cause decomposition within PiS, strengthen Konfederacja.
"At this moment, Donald Tusk has shifted the dispute from the Kaczyński-Tusk plane to the Tusk-Nawrocki plane, and this will naturally cause decomposition within PiS, it will strengthen Konfederacja, but a strengthened Konfederacja and a divided PiS, even with the d'Hondt method, also presents a chance to weaken these political groups after the parliamentary elections," - said Marek Sawicki on Trójka.
09:20
Zandberg:
Doctors Should Earn More Than MPs – But Devote 100% of Their Attention to Patients in Public Hospitals
– The issue that I believe needs to be finally resolved in public healthcare is the introduction of an 'either/or' principle. That is, either a doctor works in a public hospital, or they run a private practice. Because this practice, where before someone goes for surgery, they first go privately to the doctor for one or two consultations, is a relic of the 90s. – said Adrian Zandberg in the "Morning Ring" of Super Express.
– We in Razem believe that doctors should be paid well. I believe that a doctor should earn more than an MP. But I also want to say very clearly that if we pay well, we have the right to demand that the doctor devotes 100% of their attention to patients in a public hospital – he indicated.
09:21
Bogucki on the Veto:
It's Not a Brake, It's an Inspiration for Better Work.
- The veto is not a brake; the veto is an inspiration for better work. This was the case, for example, with the law concerning Ukrainian citizens. For those who function appropriately within the Polish economic system, there are conditions for them to be here, and we respect these citizens. However, for those who do not adapt, these conditions also needed to be limited, and this is what Poland, the government, did after the President's veto. The same happened with the wind energy law. The bad provisions concerning wind energy were thrown out, while the good provisions regarding freezing energy prices came into effect - said Zbigniew Bogucki in "Sygnały Dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.
09:22
- When we talk about the excise tax issue. In short, the President has been clear from the very first day of his presidency: pacta sunt servanda, agreements must be kept. He made an agreement with the nation, with the voters, that there would be no tax increases for Poles, and he is keeping that agreement - said Zbigniew Bogucki on "Sygnały Dnia" on PR1.
09:27
- All these tales that raising prices to this or that extent, whether for alcohol or for some products containing sugar – and it is also puzzling why not all of them – will heal public health, are based on a simple principle. If the solutions stated that all the money generated from the surplus of these taxes would go towards healthcare, which is in a dramatic state, then the President would have made a different decision. However, this money is simply filling the budget deficit - said Zbigniew Bogucki in "Sygnały Dnia" on PR1.
09:37
- Yesterday, amendments were submitted by Donald Tusk's coalition partners, meaning they themselves notice that this act requires amendments. It's just that Donald Tusk, in his political ferocity, wants to push the act through because he lost this vote spectacularly. He spectacularly lost this attempt at a political maneuver, a setup by the services and intimidation of society and the President, and he wants to show that he will now grit his teeth, clench his fist, and fight the President. It's a road to nowhere - said Zbigniew Bogucki on "Sygnały Dnia" PR1.
09:44
Bogucki:
ECJ Ruling Has No Bearing on Constitutional Matters
- The ECJ ruling has no bearing on the constitutional matters of the Republic of Poland, because in Poland, the supreme law is the Constitution of the Republic, not the rulings of foreign bodies. Furthermore, these rulings are not even a source of law. If someone intends to place the rulings of this or that tribunal above Polish sources of law, namely the Constitution, statutes, and other sources mentioned in the fundamental law, they are making a fundamental error. The Constitutional Tribunal, as early as 2005, with Professor Safjan presiding, ruled on the superiority and supremacy of the Constitution of the Republic over external law. - stated Zbigniew Bogucki in "Sygnały Dnia" on PR1.
09:46
Zandberg on New Left:
They Decided to Tie Themselves to Tusk, for Better or Worse.
- I don't want to be nasty towards Włodzimierz Czarzasty and his colleagues. The truth is, they have decided to tie themselves to Donald Tusk, for better or worse. And this has the consequence that they are not being fair to the voters concerning the matters we promised them - Adrian Zandberg said in Super Express's "Morning Ring.".
- This is the fundamental problem for me. [...] For me, the problem is that the New Left parliamentary club voted against amendments that were meant to save healthcare and for a budget that is short by tens of billions for the normal functioning of hospitals - he continued.
- For me, the problem is that the Minister of Science from the New Left agreed to a budget concerning science, research, and development that is one of the worst in the 21st century. Hundreds of millions of zlotys are missing for scientific research - he continued.
09:50
- About 5 years ago, there was a hacker attack that targeted several dozen email accounts of Polish politicians and officials [...]. For nearly 5 years, the prosecutor's office has not found those who committed this intrusion, those who committed this crime. Today, however, one of the victims, meaning myself, is to be charged, as I have been summoned to the prosecutor's office for this purpose today at 12 PM - said Michał Dworczyk at a press conference.
- The first charge is said to concern the failure to fulfill duties. The problem is that the Prosecutor General, when asked by the legal committee of the European Parliament about which duties I failed to fulfill, could not answer, which is why the process of lifting my immunity lasted over a year - he continued.
- The second [charge] [...] concerns the alleged obstruction of the investigation. [...] No one is more interested in finding these hackers than I am. If I wanted to delete any emails, as the prosecution suggests, I could have done so, because I was the administrator of that mailbox. There would have been no problem. It's just that I simply didn't do it - he added.
- We are dealing with an absolutely absurd situation today. The victim who was attacked is now being prosecuted by the services and the prosecutor's office. Let everyone consider whether this is how things should be in a normal country, whether this is how things should be in a democratic country, that political opponents become so enraged that they do everything to use the state apparatus, the prosecutor's office, to prosecute Minister Michał Dworczyk - said Mateusz Morawiecki.
- I want to repeat the words that our leader, the President of Law and Justice, Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński, conveyed to me: showing solidarity with Michał Dworczyk is our duty, and we will all show such solidarity, just as we previously showed it towards Dariusz Matecki and Zbigniew Ziobro, and we will also show it towards Michał Dworczyk - said Przemysław Czarnek.
10:04
Bryłka:
Tusk Single-Handedly Committed Poland to Further Debt in the Name of Ukrainian Interests
"Under the cover of night, Donald Tusk single-handedly committed Poland to further debt in the name of Ukrainian interests. He did not ask Poles for their opinion. As it turns out, few European decision-makers care about corruption scandals in Kyiv. And it was possible not to participate, like the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary!" - wrote Anna Bryłka on the X portal.

Tusk After EU Summit:
Ukraine Will Enter Negotiations with Russia with Strong Arguments.
- We can greet Presidents Nauseda and Zelensky from here in Brussels. It's a good coincidence that President Zelensky's visit to Warsaw has just begun. I will speak with him later this afternoon when we arrive in Warsaw, and there is certainly something to discuss. We have good news; these deliberations lasted until 3 AM. They were full of emotions and disputes, but I left the European Council building with satisfaction as someone who advocated for the use of frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.
- I can say with great relief and satisfaction that Ukraine will enter negotiations with Russia on peace, or at least an armistice, with strong arguments. These strong arguments are 90 billion euros that Ukraine will receive. This is European money - he continued.
10:33
Tusk in Brussels:
Russia Will Pay for the Destruction, for the Losses Suffered by Ukraine.
- Poland will not subsidize this undertaking. Beyond the fact that it is, of course, a fragment of the European budget. What is important is a loan for Ukraine, and Ukraine will repay this loan only when, after the end of the war, it will be possible to access those Russian assets currently frozen permanently - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.
- Russia will pay for the destruction, for the losses suffered by Ukraine, a country attacked by Russia, and that is essentially what it's all about. There are neither victors nor vanquished here - he continued.
10:36
Tusk:
Without this money, Ukraine would effectively be negotiating terms of surrender
- Without this money, which will help finance Ukraine's defense effort, Ukraine would effectively be negotiating terms of surrender. Thanks to our decision, there is a chance that these negotiations will concern peace not on Russian terms, but on terms that can somehow be accepted and deemed acceptable by all parties to this conflict - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.
10:41
Tusk:
Decision Made to Utilize Russian Assets
- Evidently, I wasn't precise. There is a decision to utilize Russian assets. As collateral for this loan, meaning we will receive the money back from Ukraine, and Ukraine will receive these funds for the repayment of this loan from frozen Russian assets. This is our decision - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in Brussels.
11:01
The official visit of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has begun at the Presidential Palace.
The Chancellery of the President, publishing videos and photos of Zelenskyy with President Karol Nawrocki, indicated that the conversation between the two leaders will concern "security, historical and economic issues."

Kosiniak-Kamysz:
Today's Combat System Must Be Versatile, Not Limited to Traditional Domains
- Today's combat system, on the battlefield, must be versatile; it cannot be limited to one or the other traditional domains. This fight is taking place on land, in the air, at sea, in cyberspace, in activities related to space, with the use of artificial intelligence, and recognition of what is happening – recognition and quick reaction lead to victory. Without good eyes, without efficient ears, without the best reconnaissance systems, we will not be able to deliver the effector that will act upon it - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference following the signing of a series of agreements for the supply of reconnaissance systems, electronic warfare systems, and Leopard 2PLM1 tank simulators.
11:15
Kosiniak-Kamysz:
Simulators Will Streamline Armoured Forces Training System
- I am pleased about these 6 [Leopard tank] simulators because they will significantly improve the training system for land forces, for armoured forces. I am pleased that the supplier has also declared very urgent and timely delivery of the equipment. It will serve in the preparation and safety of our soldiers - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference after signing a series of agreements for the supply of reconnaissance systems, electronic warfare systems, and Leopard 2PLM1 tank simulators.
11:21
At its first session in 2026 – scheduled for January 8th and 9th – the Sejm may consider the government's draft bill on the status of a next-of-kin in a relationship and a cohabitation agreement, along with its implementing provisions.
According to the current version of the schedule, these two projects may be added to the agenda – provided the Council of Ministers adopts the project and forwards it to the Sejm.
Following the first reading, a motion to reject will likely be submitted, which in practice means another test for the ruling coalition in a vote. Rejection of the motion will result in the proposal being sent for committee work.

Nowacka Responds to Nawrocki's Veto:
The Dogs Bark, the Caravan Moves On. The Reform Will Come into Effect.
- We expected a veto, but the reasoning is absolutely shockingly pathetic. The President seems to think he is vetoing core curriculum issues, but in reality, he is vetoing a larger subsidy for textbooks. The President seems to think he is vetoing issues concerning health education, but in reality, he is vetoing support in directing children to MOWs (Młodzieżowe Ośrodki Wychowawcze - Youth Educational Centers) - said Barbara Nowacka at a press conference.
- The President seems to think he is vetoing issues concerning bureaucracy, but in reality [...] he is limiting the autonomy of teachers. The President seems to think he is vetoing changes in the Polish language, but in reality, he is taking away opportunities from all children across the country, for example, for project weeks or educational experiences - she continued.
"The Dogs Bark, the Caravan Moves On. The 'Compass of Tomorrow' Reform Will Come into Effect"
- But Mr. President, the dogs bark, the caravan moves on. The core curriculum is undergoing consultation. The 'Compass of Tomorrow' reform will come into effect - emphasized the Minister of Education.
- Why? Because this is a well-thought-out project prepared by practicing teachers, with the support of the Educational Research Institute, based on practices that have been in place for years in schools where principals have strength, energy, determination, and teachers have ideas and know that agency is a key competency - she further stated.
"The President Has Chosen the Elitarization of Education"
- In this act, we proposed that every child, regardless of whether they have such a principal, or are in a non-public school, or in a public school that would also change thanks to the reform and will change, should have the same opportunities - she explained.
- The President has chosen the elitarization of education, meaning that where teachers have doubts, or a principal lacks motivation, or a local government does not want to invest in education, these good practices developed by practicing teachers may not be implemented - she stated.
11:44
Says Nowacka on the Veto:
The Right-Wing Wants Youth to March to the Beat of Their Political Songs,
- From January, we will be holding extensive meetings in every voivodeship, where we will meet with the most important people, those who will implement the reform, namely practicing teachers. We aim to meet several times in each voivodeship and invite all teachers for whom this reform is significant, to show them how they could work. Not top-down, but based on good practices - said Barbara Nowacka at a press conference.
"The Right-Wing Wants Youth to Only Listen, Applaud, and March to the Beat of Their Political Songs"
- This is Polish education for the 21st century. And I understand that the President and his camp do not like this very much. Because youth that thinks creatively, proactively, critically, is not afraid to ask questions, sometimes to negate, knows how to discuss, knows what future they want in the country, can be difficult for the right-wing, which would want youth to only listen, applaud, and march to the beat of their political songs - she stated.
- And youth are diverse, just as our teachers are diverse - she added.
"It's a pity the President has so little respect for his office"
- The veto will cause some legislative difficulties, but not enough to halt the core of the reform. Because this reform is essentially a change in the core curricula and in a certain approach - she continued.
- The harbingers of change are already here: civic education and health education are functioning precisely based on this mechanism of involving students in action, practical skills, proactivity, and creativity. So it's just a pity that the President has so little respect for his office and didn't give himself a chance to at least read and understand what was actually in this act - she concluded.
12:12
Śliwka:
I would like to rationalize relations with Ukraine, but the ball is in Zelensky's court
- I would like us to rationalize our relations with Ukraine, but the ball is in President Zelensky's court. We have all seen how President Zelensky has changed certain policy vectors over the last dozen or so months, mainly two years. We all remember how in 2023 he got involved on Donald Tusk's side in the election campaign - said Andrzej Śliwka in an interview for Kanał Zero.
- We remember his behavior during the election campaign, where he criticized President Nawrocki, who was then a candidate. I hope that such matters, including personal ones, will be clarified, but as I said, there were probably many substantive issues for discussion - Andrzej Śliwka continued.
12:18
Śliwka:
We Should End Non-Repayable Aid to Ukraine
- It's not a new topic that we should undertake some cooperation between the Polish and Ukrainian industrial and defense sectors. This is particularly important to me as a member of the parliamentary defense committee. I would like these relations to be based on partnership. We should end, and it's good that this has happened, such non-repayable aid to Ukraine. We should look for some agreement regarding JVs [Joint Ventures], meaning that we also benefit from the technological potential that has emerged in the Ukrainian defense industry as a result of the war in Ukraine - said Andrzej Śliwka in an interview for Kanał Zero.
12:30
Nawrocki:
We Support Efforts to Transfer Frozen Russian Assets
- We regularly support sanctions against Russia in all diplomatic forums. We support targeting the shadow fleet, which is a subject of discussion in many security bodies in Poland, as well as in international formats with the Baltic states and Scandinavian countries. We support efforts to transfer frozen Russian assets, [and we support] consequences in all diplomatic forums. We also support diplomatic pressure; I personally do this as the President of Poland, but the Polish government also does so - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
12:36
- Today we are aware, and Poles also have the impression, that the President of Poland is merely a voice of the Polish nation, but we also discussed this, that Poles have the impression, which is also reflected in opinion polls, in a general atmosphere that the Ambassador is well aware of, that our effort or multifaceted assistance to Ukraine after the full-scale invasion has not been met with due appreciation and understanding. This was also one of the topics of our discussion with the President. This is how we feel, as Poles might say, as I, the President of Poland, say, and I conveyed this in a firm, honest, but very pleasant, gentlemanly conversation with President Zelensky - stated President Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Ukraine.
- We are also aware that the authorities in Kyiv have instruments at their disposal today to stop and reject these emotions, this trend. This was also the subject of our discussion with the President, and that is why we met, in order to resolve these matters that require action today, concerning great issues, concerning the security and threat from the Russian Federation - he continued.
12:38
- I would like to thank Mr. President for this visit, for this meeting, for the first official visit to Poland, and of course, I invite Mr. President to Ukraine. I am convinced that this is very important for our societies. You also raised such an issue during your speech, concerning public opinion. Ukraine is always grateful to Poland and will always be grateful and will remember those first days of Russia's brutal aggression against us. Ukraine has always defended itself and defended Europe with itself - said Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference with President Karol Nawrocki.
12:41
Nawrocki on Trump:
The Only Leader Ready to Force Putin to Sign Peace.
- This peace, and the President will also refer to it here, but I have a deep impression that we also share common views here, that this peace will not be achieved without the involvement of, which I greatly respect as President of Poland, US President Donald Trump, who is essentially a guarantee of resolving these matters, with consideration, of course, for Ukraine, while preserving the territorial integrity and security of the entire region. But we are aware that Donald Trump is the only leader in the world who is ready to force Vladimir Putin, who, as we know, does not keep his promises, to force Putin to sign peace - stated President Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Ukraine.
12:53
Nawrocki with Zelensky:
The Coalition of the Willing is the Prime Minister's Format, Which I Respect.
- It is no secret to anyone that in the scope of the coalition of the willing, Prime Minister Tusk represents us, and for various reasons, this is an area I, as President, do not enter, also due to Prime Minister Tusk's many years of relations with European leaders. It is better for Poland and better for Ukraine for Prime Minister Tusk to participate in these formats - stated President Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Ukraine.
- I believe that here, in the face of the necessity to maintain diplomatic seriousness regarding our security, the coalition of the willing is the Prime Minister's format, which I respect - he continued.
12:56
Nawrocki Asked About MiGs for Ukraine:
Public Opinion Was Misinformed, in a Way.
- Regarding the MiGs, we have gone through an unnecessary and incomprehensible public storm surrounding this. Unfortunately, public opinion was misinformed, in a way, about this matter. I will not delve into it further - stated President Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with the President of Ukraine.
13:06
Nawrocki:
Burying the Victims of the Volhynian Genocide is in Our Common Interest
- I believe that it is in our common interest to bury the victims of the Volhynian genocide, to bury the victims, to honor them. This stems from the essence of Christian values, which also connect Poland and Ukraine, but I want to add one more important thing. We also discussed this during our meeting, and I would like it to resonate during our meeting - said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
- For the Russian Federation, instrumentalizing history, the past, lies about the past and history are one of the foundations of its imperial actions, so President Zelenskyy and I are aware that by clarifying this situation, by implementing the 26 requests, we are taking away a certain argument from the Russian Federation – Karol Nawrocki continued.
13:44
Tusk on the EU Summit:
It's Always Better to Have a Piece of Something Than Everything from Nothing.
- Despite the excessive caution of some leaders, Europe has decided to finance Ukraine. The possibility of using frozen Russian assets is still on the table. Am I fully satisfied? Of course not. But it's always better to have a piece of something than everything from nothing. - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

- I want to say that we, together with Madam Marshal Wielichowska, have submitted a proposal that when elections are organized, should Ukraine decide to organize them, whether presidential or parliamentary, we have offered our assistance. I'm not talking about sending observers, but about legal and logistical assistance - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty during a press briefing in the Sejm, following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
- Please remember that there are currently 2 million Ukrainians in Poland, and 8 million are still outside Poland, including in Europe, and this is a tremendous undertaking. We have excellent lawyers, we have excellent neutral individuals with open hearts to help in this matter, because parliaments can also simply help each other - he continued.
- This proposal was received very warmly. Therefore, we will establish a working group that will prepare a team of such people and the full scope of potential assistance from the Polish side - he announced.
15:06
- I invited President Zelenskyy to deliver a speech in the Sejm. The invitation has been accepted. We will set a date. Because today, as you know, everything is happening quickly, there are many visits. But we see such a need. The President was very pleased - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty during a press briefing in the Sejm.
15:06
- I will say, immodestly, that I also received an invitation as a representative of the Polish parliament in February for the next sad anniversary of the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine against Russia, to speak in the Ukrainian parliament - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said during a press briefing in the Sejm.
- I gladly accepted this invitation because I believe that building rational contacts, showcasing all the phenomena that have occurred in Poland, also in Kyiv – and by the way, Polish politicians are doing this, to be clear – is an absolutely important matter. And one must talk about both good and bad things, because only on truth can a future of good contacts be built - he continued.
- Of course, I am very pleased about this and I do not consider this invitation to be personal, but rather I consider this invitation to be for the Polish parliament - he added.

Czarzasty Praises Nawrocki:
There are moments when everyone rises to the occasion.
"We maintained the line of Polish foreign policy, which we established with the Polish government. But I think that what happened with President Nawrocki also maintained that line," said Włodzimierz Czarzasty during a press briefing in the Sejm.
- "Therefore, I believe that the Polish institutions leading the country are, and I apologize for making this assessment, heading in the right direction today, when it comes to foreign policy, when it comes to President Zelensky's visit," he stated.
"There are moments when everyone rises to the occasion," he added later, when asked if he noticed anything in the president's speech that would require any clarification.
15:25
- During our conversation [with President Volodymyr Zelensky], in the presence of Ms. Wielichowska and Mr. Kowal, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the historical thread was also raised - Włodzimierz Czarzasty stated during a press briefing in the Sejm.
- The sooner historical matters are fully clarified and fully understood - by the way, do you know when this clarity will appear? Not when politicians agree. When the nations recognize that everything is alright, that everything that has been said on this matter has been said. Then reconciliation will occur - he assessed.
- Will this happen tomorrow? I doubt it. Should we fight for it? I have no doubt - we must - he indicated.

Tusk during a meeting with Zelensky:
The aggressor must pay for all losses and destruction.
- As you know, at 3 AM in Brussels, we finally made a decision regarding a €90 billion loan for Ukraine, which will be repaid by Ukraine only after Ukraine receives reparations from Russia. The aggressor must pay for everything, for all losses and destruction, which is why, as you know, we have frozen Russian assets for good. I am convinced that your position towards Russia is now significantly better [simultaneous translation by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister] - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
- Certainly, you have stronger cards with us. It could be better, something can always be better, more effective, but I am truly satisfied that at least we have fulfilled what we promised - he continued.
15:59
Tusk at a Meeting with Zelensky:
An Independent Poland and Ukraine, a Safe Europe is Our Common Interest.
- The matter is simple in my opinion, although our history is very complicated. The matter is simple, because today Ukraine is fighting in defense of its own independence, and Polish independence would be threatened if the Ukrainian state lost its independence or collapsed, if it lost this war - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
- We are allies, Ukraine is fighting on the front, we are supporting Ukraine with all our might, Poland has made a huge effort here, and Poles, but we are doing this in the common interest of an independent Ukraine and an independent Poland. There is no contradiction here. We must show each other maximum understanding and patience. Sometimes we feel in Poland that not all Ukrainians appreciate our effort, sometimes Ukrainians feel that sentiments here have become a bit less pro-Ukrainian. Yes, all of that is true - he continued.
- We have a lot to clarify between ourselves from the past, we must have a lot of patience and understanding towards each other regarding the present, we must think wisely about our common future, but this must be based on mutual respect and mutual friendship. Everything can be clarified, everyone has their job to do here, but no one can question this great common interest of two proud nations, and that common interest is an independent Poland and an independent Ukraine, a safe Europe. And who is our enemy, who is a threat to these values, we all know very well - the head of government concluded.

Müller Firmly on Kurski:
He Should Leave the Party.
"Jacek Kurski should leave the party. I hope Jacek Kurski will eventually reach such a reflection, because I believe his statements are harmful to our political formation," said Piotr Müller in an interview with Kamil Szewczyk on "24 pytania" (24 Questions) on PR24.
"In general, I believe he does not bring any additional added value, so it is good when people find their place in various areas of social, political, and economic life where they contribute some additional value and develop something. I do not see such benefits from Jacek Kurski's functioning in political life," he continued, when asked if Kurski should leave politics altogether.
16:54
Müller on Kaczyński:
He Controls the Party and Will Restore Order.
- I think the party leader controls the party and will restore order also in the area of Jacek Kurski's activities - said Piotr Müller on PR24, when asked if he had the impression that Jarosław Kaczyński did not control the party.
- No, absolutely not, it should not be perceived that way. The meeting of Prime Minister Morawiecki was arranged in advance, with voters, and was announced. Also, Prime Minister Szydło, and President Obajtek were there. The topics that were supposed to be discussed will certainly be discussed at the next leadership meeting - he continued, when pressed about Mateusz Morawiecki's absence from a meeting attended by Jarosław Kaczyński, which was said to indicate that PJK did not control the party.
17:02
Müller:
Some in Our Party Would Like to Compete with Braun on Slogans
- We are a right-wing party and should remain a right-wing party, but in the classic sense of the word, meaning free-market, with traditional beliefs when it comes to national issues, issues of social life, but also open to issues of strengthening Poland in Europe, in the North Atlantic Alliance - said Piotr Müller in PR24.
- Competing with Grzegorz Braun on slogans is something wrong [...] some people in our party would like to compete with Grzegorz Braun, I think it's a dead end - he continued.
17:09
Müller on Tusk:
He Doesn't Know What He Signed, He Compromised Himself at the Press Conference.
- There are individual people in PiS who are trying to shift the topics to internal matters. And that's it, and that's why I hope from this point on, we will discuss what is important, namely healthcare, the Mercosur issue, and the fact that Prime Minister Donald Tusk does not know what he signed today in the European Council conclusions - said Piotr Müller on PR24.
- He compromised himself at the press conference, not knowing that there is no mention of a guarantee for the use of Russian assets located in Europe, because Belgium blocked it, and he is now signing off on another loan, claiming that it will supposedly be repaid later from Russian assets. There is no such agreement today, and that is a mistake - he continued.
- He should have been striving for that, not for us to take out another loan, but for the billions held in Western banks to be used from those Russian funds - he went on to say.

Says Bosak on Aid to Ukraine:
Poland Must Stop Practicing Politics on Its Knees,
"Last night, the European Council, in the presence of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, decided to incur a record debt of 90 billion euros for loans to be transferred to Ukraine. Only three countries secured their exclusion from responsibility for these loans, which, as we expect, may never be repaid. These are the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Unfortunately, Poland is not among them." - stated Krzysztof Bosak in a recording published on X.
"At the same time, based on the decision of the previous government, Poland is currently paying and will continue to pay interest for the next few years on loans that the European Union has granted to Ukraine. Meanwhile, Poland has a budget deficit twice as large as Ukraine's. Polish institutions are unable to carry out transfers to entities such as hospitals or other organizations that should normally pay salaries and implement investments." - he continued.
"What does Poland receive in return for all this aid? Firstly, there is no general agreement to conduct searches and exhumations of Polish victims on Ukrainian territory. Secondly, there is no cooperation regarding the two victims of what happened in Przewodów," - he further elaborated.
"Thirdly, data about convicted Russian saboteurs in Ukraine is not being provided to the Polish side. Fourthly, at the UN, despite all this record aid, Poland has been accused of supporting Russia. And finally, fifthly, Poland is excluded from key peace talks taking place on the international stage." - he added.
"This cannot continue. Poland must stop practicing politics on its knees. Poland deserves a government that will firmly represent exclusively Poland's national interest." - he emphasized.

Nawrocki Summarizes Talks with Zelensky:
Bad News for Putin.
“I had a tough, honest, and partnership-based conversation with President Volodymyr Zelensky about matters crucial for Poland and Ukraine,” President Karol Nawrocki wrote on X.
“Poland has supported Ukraine since the beginning of Russian aggression, and this remains unchanged. Today’s meeting marks a new opening in our mutual relations and an opportunity to commence partnership cooperation for the benefit of both countries,” reads the president’s post.
“This is bad news for Putin,” the President of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) concluded.

Przydacz:
Partnership in Relations with Ukraine Was Lacking. President Nawrocki Feels a Duty Well Done for Poland
- Certainly, the fact that after these few weeks of discussion about where this visit would take place, President Zelensky is coming to Warsaw, is a signal of the Ukrainian side's readiness to make these relations more realistic. Because we have the impression that in recent months, years, this partnership in relations was somewhat lacking, and here, President Karol Nawrocki certainly has a sense of a duty well done for Poland - said Marcin Przydacz in an interview with Grzegorz Kępka on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".
- A new opening will also involve issues that are important to us. On the one hand, the continuation of the policy of supporting Ukraine in the context of the war with Russia. Here, it is clear – Russia is the aggressor, Ukraine is the victim, and in this sense, political support from Poland, not necessarily in financial details anymore, but politically clear, that we stand on the side of Ukraine. However, there is a need for further actions here in bilateral matters, i.e., historical policy and economic issues. And the presidents discussed this today - he continued.
19:56
Przydacz on a New Opening in Relations with Ukraine:
Those Times Are Gone
- I would describe the [Polish and Ukrainian presidents'] relations as based on respect. On the one hand, it was evident that President Zelensky respects the President of Poland, also for his assertive, let's be honest, sometimes tough stance - said Marcin Przydacz in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.
- It's not as if President Zelensky takes everything for granted, that whatever he says, Poland will definitely support him in every matter. Those times are gone. We put that aside as an element of Poland's past history - he pointed out.
- However, President Duda also, in his own way, respects President Zelensky. Well, he is a man who is fighting a war against the Russian occupier and is subject to various pressures, stresses. [...] In that sense, President Zelensky certainly deserves respect. So, this respect was definitely there - he continued.
19:59
Przydacz:
Ukraine didn't always respond to Polish expectations. I think today they understood it's necessary
- There is a need for partnership, for greater solidarity in these relations. Not just on the basis of Poland for Ukraine, but also Ukraine for Poland. This resonated from this visit, and I think this is precisely the element of a new opening: a slight reorientation of emphasis in these relations - said Marcin Przydacz in "Gość Wydarzeń" Polsat News.
- Ukraine wants something from us - we often reacted positively to that. But when Poland has certain expectations, Ukraine did not always respond to them. And I think that today Ukraine has understood through these presidential talks that it is necessary to respond to Polish needs, because this improves relations - he assessed.
20:03
- This is a good day for Polish-Ukrainian friendship. Today's meeting with President Zelensky can be described in three words - kindness, cooperation, and openness. I was deeply moved by the President's expressions of gratitude, as he thanked Poland for the assistance provided to Ukraine since the first days of the war. I responded - it was and is our duty to support Ukraine. This is in Poland's national interest - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in a recording published on social media.
- I also expressed my admiration for the courage and determination of Ukrainians in their fight for freedom, ours and that of all of Europe. Parliament is a space for dialogue and democracy. Therefore, I invited President Volodymyr Zelensky to address the Sejm. At the President's invitation, I will also travel to the Ukrainian parliament. On the occasion of the anniversary of the outbreak of the full-scale war in Ukraine, I will be there as Marshal, representing the entire Polish parliament, along with Deputy Marshal Wielichowska - the Marshal of the Sejm emphasized.
- We also declared our readiness to support Ukraine. If a decision is made to organize presidential elections, it concerns organizational, resource, and legal assistance. This meeting is proof that true solidarity is shown not in words, but in deeds. Together, we are stronger - he said.

Przydacz on the Behind-the-Scenes of Exhumation Talks:
Ukraine Declares Readiness.
- Besides the presidents, the heads of the institutes of national remembrance also participated in these talks. For the first time in this format, they were invited to the discussions, and under the patronage of the presidents, in their presence, there was an exchange of opinions and conversations between the heads of the INPs. And the presidents explicitly stated: this matter needs to be implemented as soon as possible – said Marcin Przydacz in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.
- The fact that the Ukrainian side declares its readiness to resume searches and exhumations was highlighted at the press conference. President Zelensky spoke about it. This is certainly a far-reaching step in terms of fulfilling our expectations. But technically, it is known that the INPs will be carrying it out. There are 26 applications submitted by the INP. They concern practically 80 different locations. And this is what we expect in the immediate future – he continued.
- Any physical consent that will be issued for further locations – Huta Pienacka is being mentioned, Ugły is being mentioned – is based on the consent politically negotiated by President Nawrocki, which he received from President Zelensky – he pointed out.
20:16
- I wouldn't want to go into excessive detail regarding the terms of this cooperation, as they will also be handled by the Ministry of National Defence. However, the fact remains that Ukraine possesses immense knowledge of the drone industry, how to build them, and what capabilities to implement, and it has tremendous experience - said Marcin Przydacz on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń.".
- Our goal was to leverage this experience so that we can keep Polish skies safer than before. And Ukraine has declared its readiness to exchange this experience and cooperate in this area. The Ministry of National Defence, and of course, defense companies, will be implementing this in detail - he stated.
20:25
Przydacz:
We Don't Expect 'Thank You' from Ukraine, but Solidarity and Realistic Relations
- It's not about us expecting the word 'thank you' today, because the Ukrainian side, the President of Ukraine, has said this word many times. It's not about just exchanging words. We expect a certain solidarity and a realistic approach to these relations - said Marcin Przydacz on Polsat News' 'Gość Wydarzeń'.
- Ukrainians ask us to help them with something, and we ask, for example, to be able to bury those murdered in Volhynia. Or Ukrainians ask us to make Rzeszów Jasionka airport available for their transport needs. We understand, please do - but we need Catholics in Lviv to be able to go to the Maria Magdalena Church - he listed.
- Ukrainians need the Polish border to be open. We understand, we can help - but we expect Polish businesses to have suitable conditions created for them in Ukraine when the reconstruction process takes place there with international funds, God willing - he continued.
- Such expectations in the realm of history, in terms of respect for identity. Well, it is difficult to close our eyes to a process of certain glorification of people whom we are convinced and certain were criminals. So these types of expectations, sometimes very specific, and sometimes, of course, quite broad. The broader they are, the more difficult they are to realize, that's clear. But sometimes these are really small things - he pointed out.
20:54
- If the state of relations allows, then the President will certainly go to Kyiv at some point, but at a time when there will be something to resolve and when he also sees that on the Ukrainian side there is a certain readiness to fulfill our expectations, not just a visit for the sake of visiting, just to go - said Marcin Przydacz in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.
- The invitation has been accepted, however, its realization will depend on the state of relations and the state of affairs, the state of implementation of the arrangements that were made here. If everything goes well, we will certainly meet in the near future - he stated.
- From these three pillars, there are certain arrangements, there are certain common tasks to be performed. Of course, if these three pillars strengthen the foundation of Polish-Ukrainian relations, then there will certainly be further meetings of the presidents. And if, God forbid, that doesn't happen, then we will have to consider another form of expressing our expectations - he remarked.
- At this stage, I am optimistic. I hope that the Ukrainian side will want to respect Poland - he added.
21:15
- I understand that this is somewhat a reference to: "Wałęsa, give back my 100 million" - Marcin Przydacz said on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń", when asked about today's Confederation protest with Sławomir Mentzen and the banner "Zelensky, give back our 100 billion".
- I believe this is a bit of a populist move by Mr. Sławomir Mentzen, playing to the crowd, to his own voters - he assessed.
- I believe that a firm, assertive policy must be pursued. However, in the situation where the Ukrainian state was on the verge of collapse, when it was unknown if it would survive, the role that Poland played in the first days before and after the war was absolutely crucial for maintaining Ukrainian statehood - he emphasized.
- Even if it cost some millions or billions of zlotys at that time, this expense had to be incurred. Because otherwise, we would have the Russian army already somewhere near the Polish borders, and we certainly wouldn't feel safe. Perhaps Mr. Sławomir Mentzen doesn't understand this, or perhaps he is simply cynically playing to criticize all other politicians domestically - he stated.
- We must demand things from Ukraine, we must be assertive towards it, but in the situation of Russian threat, it was necessary to help it, and it's good that we helped it then as Poland. I think that thanks to this, we feel safer today, and thanks to this, Mr. Sławomir Mentzen can hang a banner to President Zelensky. Because if we hadn't helped then, perhaps Zelensky wouldn't be here today, and Mr. Mentzen could only send his banners towards Moscow - he indicated.
