Tusk:

I had something akin to hope that PiS would back down from a very serious mistake

- Frankly, I didn't have conviction, but something akin to hope that on such an obvious matter, PiS would still seize the opportunity and back down from this very serious mistake. I'm calling it a mistake so as not to worsen the situation further and increase the emotions, but it really looks very strange - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

17:16

Nawrocki on V4 Countries:

They Understand That We Have Gone Too Far in Ideological Thinking About Our Resources.

"To build a sensible energy transformation, we must also have the conviction that what binds us is social justice on the one hand, and on the other hand, common sense" - said President Karol Nawrocki during a meeting with miners at the Barbórka Academy of KWK "Staszic–Wujek."

"Common sense is not succumbing to ideologies alien to us culturally, which are meant to dominate our social, economic, or business life. All decisions in the energy transformation should be made with common sense" - he continued.

"During the election campaign, I clearly said 'no' to the Green Deal, and today, as President of Poland, I will repeat after many meetings with leaders, with presidents of states, including most recently the Visegrád Group: many European countries, and those in the Visegrád Group in particular, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, understand that in ideological thinking about our resources, about our economy, we have simply gone too far, and this situation in Europe must be changed" - he went on to say.

17:10

Nawrocki Lists How Many Laws He Has Signed and Declares Acceptance for Another Project:

It's Hard to Call Me a Veto-Man.

- I have signed over 70 laws as President of Poland, and I have vetoed only a dozen or so, about 17, so statistically, it is difficult to call me, dear ladies and gentlemen, a veto-man - said President Karol Nawrocki during a meeting with miners at the Barbórka Academy of KWK "Staszic–Wujek".

- I thought that by coming to you today, December 5th, I would be able to sign and show you the already signed, Mr. President, law on the organization of Polish hard coal mining, but this did not happen, because the Sejm delayed the adoption of this law - he continued.

- If I had this law today, I would sign it, but I am waiting for the work of the Polish Senate and I hope that in December I will be able to give you good news - he further stated.

17:02

Nawrocki:

Energy Transformation Must Absolutely Consider Polish Sovereignty

- Silesia today also represents the future of Poland. A future that is also within the scope of interest of the President of Poland and should also be of interest to the Polish government, because, as the President said, we are in a difficult time for Polish mining – said President Karol Nawrocki during a meeting with miners at the "Staszic–Wujek" Coal Mine Barbórka Academy.

- I want you to know [...] the Polish President's view on energy transformation. During the election campaign, I consistently said what should be done with Polish coal. It should be mined, extracted, and used to develop the Republic of Poland, and this has not changed since I became President of Poland – he continued.

- The entire energy transformation process must absolutely consider, on the one hand, Polish sovereignty. Yes, it is Poles who should decide, the Polish government and the Polish President, what Poland's energy balance looks like – he added.

Tusk Announces Re-Submission of Cryptocurrency Bill

- We will resubmit this bill anyway, shortly. I don't mean today, but this bill, and we will continue to urge the President and the PiS opposition not to do this, because they are doing something very wrong - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

16:45

Tusk After Budget Adoption:

A Good Moment for Poland.

- This is a good sign for the coming months as well. Yes, I am satisfied, it is a good moment for Poland - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

16:37

Budget for 2026: Sejm Makes Decision

233 MPs supported the draft budget bill for 2026, 197 voted against, and no one abstained.

- We have a good budget, a stable coalition, and security! - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk immediately after the vote.

16:31

Domański provides examples:

This is a good budget, a budget for security and investment.

"We are presenting a budget with revenues of PLN 647 billion next year, which means an increase of over 7%, or approximately PLN 44 billion" - said Andrzej Domański during a Sejm session.

"This is a budget for security and a budget for investment. A budget in which we are ensuring record spending on Poland's security. Over PLN 200 billion, almost 5% of our GDP, for security, for defense" - he continued.

"At the same time, we are ensuring financing for key investments. More funds for roads, more funds for railways, more funds for, for instance, the construction of Poland's first nuclear power plant, which our predecessors could only plan and talk about, but we are actually implementing it" - he went on.

"In this budget, we have also ensured record spending on housing policy. In the budget, we have also ensured financing for all social programs" - he added.

"This is a good budget, a budget for security and a budget for investment, I ask for its support" - he emphasized.

Will He Send Another Motion to the Tribunal of State Against Himself? Morawiecki Questions Żurek

- Żurek's quite something, isn't he? One day he directs a flimsy motion for a Tribunal of State regarding the alleged disclosure of classified information by Mariusz Błaszczak - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media.

- The next day - he himself publicly reveals the course of a secret Sejm session. Will he send another motion to the Tribunal of State against himself? - the former prime minister asks.

14:58

Presidential Veto Upheld: Coalition Loses Vote

The coalition failed to gather the 3/5 majority needed to reject the President's motion for reconsideration of the crypto-asset market act.

243 MPs voted "for", 192 voted against, and no one abstained. The majority needed to override the veto was 261 MPs.

The entire PiS club voted against rejecting the veto, as did Konfederacja.

14:36

"You Can Save for Retirement in Anything: Tulip Bulbs, Bras..." Zandberg Responds to Mentzen

- Congressman Mentzen was telling some stories here that cryptocurrencies are progress because you can now save for retirement in cryptocurrencies. Well, Congressman Mentzen, you can save for retirement in anything you like. You can save, I don't know, in tulip bulbs, in bras, in whatever you wish - said Adrian Zandberg in the Sejm.

- But when it comes to financial instruments, we regulate the stock market, and it's not the case that stock issuance can be conducted in a free-for-all manner. This is basic ABC of the modern economy, because we don't live in the Wild West - he pointed out.

14:34

Waldemar Żurek, a Known Figure: Jabłoński Accuses Justice Minister of Crime and Calls for Resignation

- Waldemar Żurek, a known figure. Minister, prosecutor, former judge, and as of today, also a criminal, and I say this with full responsibility. Article 265 of the Penal Code states, “whoever discloses information classified as secret shall be subject to a penalty of up to 5 years of imprisonment.” What took place during that session were, of course, nonsense, but they were classified as secret by the Marshal of the Sejm in accordance with Article 6, paragraph 2 of the Act on the Protection of Classified Information, “Classified information shall be protected in the manner specified in the Act until the secrecy clause is lifted.” - said Paweł Jabłoński during a debate in the Sejm.

- This secrecy clause has not been lifted. Mr. Żurek has committed a crime; a criminal cannot be the Minister of Justice. Today, this criminal should resign, and tomorrow charges should be filed - Paweł Jabłoński continued.

14:25

Ziobro Sets Three Conditions and Makes a Promise:

I Will Return to Poland Within Hours.

- I am meeting with you in this format because I have decided to face and resist lawlessness, which is why I have been abroad. However, I want to state clearly that I will return to Poland immediately if I have grounds to believe that courts in Poland are operating independently and impartially, free from this government's influence, and that the prosecution is acting based on the law - said Zbigniew Ziobro during a press conference, which he attended remotely.

- I will return to the country within hours if, firstly, the random allocation of cases to judges is restored [...]. Secondly, the illegally dismissed court presidents, including those of the District Court and the Court of Appeal in Warsaw, are reinstated, and numerous judges from criminal divisions, who were unjustly and unlawfully removed from adjudicating, are reinstated to their duties - he continued.

- And thirdly, legal authority in the prosecution service, including a legal National Public Prosecutor, will be restored - he went on to say.

14:22

Zandberg:

There is no longer Lech Kaczyński's PiS, only Janusz Kowalski's PiS

- I am very surprised by the position of the PiS parliamentary club, because at one time it seemed to me that PiS was in favor of firmly combating pathologies and giving strong public institutions the tools to fight crime. That's how I remember PiS from the times of Lech Kaczyński - said Adrian Zandberg in the Sejm.

- But I see that this is no longer Lech Kaczyński's PiS, but Janusz Kowalski's PiS, and Jarosław Kaczyński, who, incidentally, seems to have had a critical approach to cryptocurrency pathologies not too long ago, I understand that he left the room for that reason, because he did not want to listen to what his colleagues from the club would say, trying to LARP Konfederacja - he continued.

14:18

Zandberg:

Razem Will Support Declassification of Secret Sejm Sessions

- It seems to me that a significant part of the President's argumentation is highly misleading, and in reality, we were dealing with an empty, political squabble that could have just as easily been declassified during that secret session. I am pleased that there will be a motion to declassify it - said Adrian Zandberg in the Sejm.

- It would be good for Poles to be able to review the minutes of the part where, in my opinion, nothing was said that would justify its secrecy. The Razem party will advocate for the declassification of that part of the discussion - he announced.

13:54

Mentzen in the debate on the President's veto:

This is simply unbelievable.

- What is happening here is simply unbelievable. The whole world is moving forward, technology is developing everywhere, we have central banks investing in cryptocurrencies, in the West, you can save for retirement in cryptocurrencies, 3 million Poles own cryptocurrencies. That's more than the number of Poles with brokerage accounts. Polish tech startups are developing abroad - stated Sławomir Mentzen in the Sejm.

13:39

Bosak Responds After Leaked Words from Secret Sejm Session Revealed

- I did not say such words - wrote Krzysztof Bosak on social media.

13:21

Bogucki to Tusk:

Where were you? On the Russian or Polish side?

- I cannot, of course, access the information that the Prime Minister presented to the high chamber, although most of it, in my opinion, and probably in the opinion of most of you, was not of a secret nature. But this is precisely the maneuver – to say that something is going on, that there is reason to fear, that the government is for the safety of Poles, but it's unclear what it stems from, and to draw this distinction: Russians and us - stated Zbigniew Bogucki in the Sejm.

- You know, Prime Minister, if I wanted to draw these lines, drawing on history, I could ask: where were you? Were you on the Russian or Polish side, when you were carrying out the reset with Russia? Where were you? Were you on the Russian or Polish side, when you stood at the border, when Polish soldiers and officers guarded that border and said it needed to be defended? - he asked.

- Poles said it needed to be defended, they said: "we are a wall behind the Polish uniform," and you said: "these are poor people who need to be let in here." Where were you when this scenario, written by Putin in Moscow and implemented by Lukashenko, was being executed? Where were you? Were you on the Russian or Polish side? - he emphasized.

- Where were you when you forgave Gazprom's debt, when even the heads of your companies said it shouldn't be done? Where were you then? Where were you when you said that we don't need the gas terminal in Świnoujście, because we have Norwegian gas, because we have important Russian contracts. Which side were you on then? The Russian or Polish side? And so, Prime Minister, one could go on for a very long time - he continued.

13:18

Law and Justice Files Motion to Declassify Secret Session. Kowalski: Tusk's Charade Must Be Public

- So, we're calling his bluff. Gamechanger. Law and Justice is filing a motion, and I will file such a motion to declassify the secret session, and this charade by Donald Tusk must be public. Poles have an obligation to know the truth, that's the first thing. If Donald Tusk doesn't want to reveal what he said at the secret session, it means he will be protecting Russian influence. But speaking of Russian traces, Mr. Żurek was with us, and we can immediately file a motion to declassify the Polnord files and ask about the so-called Russian trace - said Janusz Kowalski during a debate in the Sejm.

-  Mr. Roman, you would probably be the best person to speak on this matter. We are proponents of Donald Tusk, the most pro-Russian Prime Minister in the years 2007-2014, whose first decision was to liquidate the commission for examining Russian influence, to speak on the subject of Russian traces - Janusz Kowalski continued.

13:17

Bogucki’s Proposal to the Government:

Let’s Sit Down Together, Write a Good Law in 2-3 Weeks, and Pass It.

- Really, I am repeating my proposal once again: let’s sit down together, write a good law [on crypto-assets] in 2-3 weeks, submit it to the Sejm, and pass it. All it takes is willingness. You, Mr. Prime Minister, unfortunately lack the will - stated Zbigniew Bogucki in the Sejm.

13:11

Żurek Revealed Statement from Secret Sejm Session. Mentzen Tweets About Cut Fragment

- Just now, during the public debate on the veto of the cryptocurrency bill, Minister Żurek revealed a statement made by Krzysztof Bosak during this morning's secret Sejm session - Sławomir Mentzen wrote on social media.

- This fragment was subsequently cut from the Sejm's YouTube broadcast. Żurek's disclosure of this statement is a crime! - the Confederation leader emphasized.

13:01

Bogucki Calls on Tusk to Reveal Secret Sejm Debates:

You Want to Silence Us.

"Mr. Prime Minister, today, although you as the head of the coalition have decided to keep this session secret, please reveal it. Then we will see what was said during that session" - stated Zbigniew Bogucki in the Sejm.

"Because today you are using a very dishonest method, unfortunately, Mr. Prime Minister. That is, to silence all parliamentarians, to silence the President's administration, and then to stand at this podium and say: you will either vote for the Russian mafia, or you will vote for my bill. This is a false choice, and you know it perfectly well" - he stated.

12:58

Domański Responds to Claims of Over-Regulation in Cryptocurrency Law

- Addressing the pseudo-arguments presented by Minister Bogucki, Poland has essentially lacked regulations concerning the crypto-asset market until now. It was necessary to create definitions, regulate technical issues, establish very precise provisions concerning, among other things, recovery plans and buy-back plans, and to build an entire ecosystem and a framework for the functioning of cryptocurrencies in Poland. This was absent from our legislation until now. With this law, we have created such a framework. In other countries and jurisdictions, numerous laws had previously regulated various aspects of crypto-asset operations - stated Andrzej Domański during a debate in the Sejm.

12:58

Domański:

What do you need these 3 weeks for? For what operations?

- I think after his [Bogucki's] speech, we should ask a question. What do you need these 3 weeks for? For what operations, who actually wrote this bill for you within these 3 weeks? - said Andrzej Domański during a debate in the Sejm.

12:44

Tusk on the Vote on the President's Veto:

Decide Who You Want to Protect in Poland?

- Decide who you want to protect in Poland? People's money, interests, from the smallest investors, the security of the state, or the Russian mafia, which invests in these ventures? Who do you want to protect? That's what this vote is about, nothing more - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

12:41

Russian Infiltration is Evident, and So Are Their Influences in the Right-Wing Camp. Tusk Calls to Reject Presidential Veto

- Are you aware that a company, with missing persons, money laundering, and direct Russian funds in its background, is simultaneously a sponsor of activities in which high-ranking party officials and public opinion leaders from the right are involved and present? This is not an invention; you know this well, and now the question is why we have a presidential veto. After all, this is crucial from the perspective of state interests - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

- You don't want to know why, despite having a law intended to protect the Polish market and Polish customers, the president is vetoing, and we know that he is doing so in the interest of a company whose sources are criminal, where Russian infiltration is evident, and where their influences in the right-wing camp are also evident, spectacular, and outwardly manifested - he continued.

12:36

Tusk Calls to Reject Presidential Veto:

Infiltrated and Exploited by Russian and Belarusian Entities.

- I am asking to reject the president’s veto because the act will give us the tools to control the market, that part of the cryptocurrency market which, as I have documented during this address, is evidently, to the extent authorized by the Prosecutor General and our services, significantly infiltrated and exploited by Russian and Belarusian entities, and entities from other former Soviet Union states. Several hundred such entities - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

12:31

Tusk in the Sejm:

Everything Indicates That Some Politicians in Poland Know Too Much About Cryptocurrencies,

- Everything indicates that some politicians in Poland, representing the right-wing and holding very serious offices, know too much about cryptocurrencies. They are too well-informed about what is happening on the cryptocurrency market. I would say professionally so. This is a problem - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

12:29

Tusk Hints at What He Discussed During Secret Sejm Debates:

Names, Numbers, Company Names

- We are here today to resolve an issue that directly concerns the security of the state, investors, and citizens. I spoke about this in detail, presenting names, numbers, company names, dates, and this, in the confidential, secret part, and of course, I will not be able to repeat these details in the public part. However, regarding the mechanism, the intentions of this vote, I will say a few sentences - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

12:29

Bogucki Cites Other Countries in Debate on Cryptocurrency Regulation

- Our southern neighbors, I won't refer to Slovakia anymore, because MiCA regulation is here. I'm showing the Czech law, the Czech law is a few, a dozen or so pages. However, Prime Minister Tusk's government wants to present such a law [shows a thick file of papers - ed.]. If this is what the government's deregulation, opening up to new technologies, opening up to start-ups, opening up to deregulation, is supposed to look like, then the President does not agree to such deregulation - said Zbigniew Bogucki during a debate in the Sejm.

- If the Czechs, if the Slovaks, if other countries in Europe have been able to implement this faster, more efficiently, and more effectively, then Mr. Prime Minister, I wish you and the President will help with this, as I have said before, to adopt solutions as quickly as possible, lightning-fast, that will regulate the crypto-asset market in an appropriate, non-over-regulatory way - Zbigniew Bogucki continued.

12:22

Sejm Discusses Presidential Veto: Bogucki Calls for Joint Regulation on State Security and Rule of Law

- We can create regulations, and we should jointly create regulations that, on the one hand, will ensure state security, but on the other hand, will uphold the elementary principles of a democratic state of law, meaning, for instance, guarantees of recourse to the court - stated Zbigniew Bogucki in the Sejm.

11:39

Nawrocki:

Domański is a likable person, but he should be replaced or resign

- The source of all today's problems in Poland is, of course, the state of public finances. [...] Minister Domański is a very likable person, but if we see that the minister of finance is responsible for the dire state of public finances, and we lack financial resources for patients, for hospitals, and for the functioning of the Polish state in many sectors that are important for society, then the minister of finance should probably either be replaced or resign. Because wherever we look, we see that it is not a problem - said President Karol Nawrocki during the presidential health summit "Saving Healthcare".

11:34

Why Was the Meeting Secret? The Prime Minister's Chief of Staff Explains

- The answer to the question 'why was the meeting secret' is very simple: because some information contained in the speech is subject to a confidentiality clause - wrote Paweł Graś on social media.

11:30

Paszyk on One Element of the Information Tusk Presented in the Sejm:

Sheds Significant Light on the Whole Matter.

- I will not comment on the statements of one politician or another; that is their responsibility. In my opinion, they are taking a significant risk by revealing certain information in pursuit of popularity. I want to stick to the duties imposed on me by law - Krzysztof Paszyk told journalists when asked if the Prime Minister's statement during the closed part of the Sejm session concerned what Krzysztof Bosak wrote on X.

- I will confirm [...] the Russian trace was a very significant element of this information, and it sheds quite significant light on the whole matter - he continued.

11:25

Nawrocki:

My Consent Will Not Be Given for the Privatization of Public Hospitals

- A few days ago, I saw a segment on public television from a series produced by Telewizja Polska, which praised the privatization of hospitals. Even if it was a creation, let's call it, purely television or artistic, I will still offer a clear assurance, and I also spoke about this during the election campaign – said President Karol Nawrocki during the presidential health summit “Saving Healthcare”.

As he stated: - My consent will not be given for any privatization of public healthcare facilities. I will never endorse such a law if it is proposed to me. I believe that something the society has built over the years cannot now be a subject of someone's profit.

11:24

Kownacki Accuses Government of Surveilling Republika Editor-in-Chief

- The first-ever open secret meeting. Everyone has known about it since yesterday. Today, you all knew what the Prime Minister was talking about before we even came out. A disgrace. There is one conclusion, and I will tell it to you, because I have no doubt that the editor-in-chief of your station is being surveilled by the services and is being used for a primitive political game. - said Bartosz Kownacki in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

No, it wasn't said [from the parliamentary podium], as if I couldn't say it, then I'd be in jail, but these are my thoughts, my conclusions. Do you remember the recent photos from Monaco, and I have no doubt that today the special services are being used for political warfare. - Bartosz Kownacki continued.

11:23

"He Said Nothing That Would Convince Us": Kownacki on the Prime Minister After a Secret Sejm Session

- Everyone probably knows from yesterday that we talked about the threats associated [with cryptocurrencies], and the president's veto will be voted on very soon. We must state clearly that the Prime Minister, in the areas I can discuss, said nothing that could convince us to change our decision - Bartosz Kownacki told journalists in the Sejm.

- What's more, I am convinced that if the Prime Minister wants political agreement on this matter, so that we have good law, he should sit down with the President, he should sit down with the opposition camp, and adopt solutions that will be competitive, will protect the savings of Poles, and will protect us from the actions of special services - Bartosz Kownacki continued.

11:17

PiS MP on What Happened During the Secret Session of the Sejm:

A Disgrace

"I deeply regret that the public could not familiarize themselves with the information presented to the Sejm by a 'well-known figure'. A disgrace." - wrote Andrzej Śliwka on X.

11:08

Nawrocki at the Presidential Summit:

I Receive the Health Minister’s Absence with Disappointment.

- I warmly welcome the Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Tomasz Maciejewski, who has been delegated by the government to this summit. However, with some disappointment – I want to say this to the public and to the Prime Minister – I receive the absence of the Minister of Health, Ms. Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda, at today’s meeting with disappointment – said President Karol Nawrocki during the presidential health summit “Rescuing Healthcare.”

- We are, of course, pleased with the minister's presence, but I consider that in such a situation, the presence of the Minister of Health at a meeting with the President of Poland, and above all with representatives of the medical community, is also the minister's duty – he stated.

11:03

Kaczyński After a Secret Sejm Session:

You Won't Get Anything Out of Me.

- I will repeat it one more time. You won't get anything out of me - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

- I will not express myself at this moment, until such a time comes when perhaps it will be declassified, perhaps there will be a new, public discussion on this matter, I will not say anything on this topic - the PiS leader continued.

10:52

Nawrocki on Information Reaching the Presidential Palace:

Deeply Disturbing.

"I am deeply disturbed by the information reaching the Presidential Palace about the closure of maternity wards by the end of the year, about canceled surgeries and procedures, including for oncology patients. These are very bad tidings that are reaching the Presidential Palace and to which I must react," said President Karol Nawrocki during the presidential health summit 'Saving Healthcare'.

"There are also further reports about exhausting admission limits and the postponement of specialist appointments, or about the catastrophic financial situation of many hospitals. The President of Poland cannot be indifferent to such information and cannot fail to react to such serious crises. That is why I immediately responded to the request from medical circles when they asked for a conversation," he continued.

10:46

Nawrocki Opens Presidential Health Summit:

This Meeting is Rescue-Oriented.

- The health of Poles cannot and should never depend on political dispute, but unfortunately, that is not the case today. [...] Today's meeting - and it shouldn't be this way either - is rescue-oriented. It is a response to the deep crisis in healthcare […], which is being discussed by patients, medical professionals, and healthcare system managers - said President Karol Nawrocki during the presidential health summit "Rescuing Healthcare.".

10:34

Nawrocki Signs Bill on NFZ Funds, Criticizes Government: "Held Patients Hostage"

- I want to begin this meeting by presenting my decision regarding the bill on the Medical Fund, […] this bill was prepared by the government in an urgent manner, in less than a month and right at the end of the year. In part, it was prepared in cooperation with my advisors and the employees of the Presidential Office - said President Karol Nawrocki during the presidential health summit “Saving Healthcare”.

"There is no and has been no consent from me..."

- Why do I say it was prepared in part? […] Because there is no and has been no consent from me to take 4 billion zlotys from the Medical Fund this year. 4 billion for oncology, cardiology, or therapies for children. Unfortunately, the government will not pay these 4 billion into the Medical Fund this year. However, […] if I had vetoed this decision, there would have been over 7.5 billion less for patient treatment, instead of 4 billion less - he pointed out.

"I decided to sign it"

- Due to what the government has done with public finances and with healthcare finances, I, as the President of Poland, am faced with such decisions and must make them with patients and healthcare in mind. That is why I decided to sign the bill on the Medical Fund - the president declared.

"Managed to force the authorities to adopt solutions developed in the Presidential Office"

- In return, the Ministry of Health will not be able to make similar moves to take money from the Medical Fund in subsequent years - he added.

- I am signing this bill, […] because thanks to the presidential initiative, the Medical Fund will be able to finance therapies for rare diseases, prepare our healthcare for times of crisis […] and also allocate financial resources to the Patient Service Center, which was one of the points of my "plan 21" during the election campaign. […] We managed to force the authorities to adopt these solutions that were developed in the Presidential Office - the President of the National Council continued.

"The government waited until the very end of the year to take patients hostage"

However, he emphasized: - The government waited until the very end of the year with this bill to take patients hostage this time and to blackmail the President of Poland into facing a choice: 4 billion zlotys or 7.5 billion zlotys. Such things should not happen. I consistently appeal to the Prime Minister not to take patients hostage and not to drag healthcare into political disputes.

09:30

Bielan:

After this week and what we've seen from Tusk, the Presidential Palace should draw conclusions

- In this case, the Presidential Palace must draw conclusions. It extended a hand to Tusk, announcing the summit with appropriate advance notice. It seems to me that these methods should, however, be reviewed. There is no sense whatsoever in having a constructive conversation with Tusk, and I believe that after this week, after what we've seen from Tusk, the Presidential Palace should draw conclusions from this. In my opinion, the methods should change - stated Adam Bielan on TV Republika.

09:29

Bielan on Tusk:

The Older He Gets, The More Envious, Vengeful, and Aggressive.

- Tusk has learned nothing. He is a man who, the older he gets, the more envious, vengeful, and aggressive he becomes. I am counting on President Karol Nawrocki to cope with this man, and I hope Poles will send him into political retirement in the upcoming elections - stated Adam Bielan on TV Republika.

09:24

Bielan:

Tusk's State is Again Short of Money

- Tusk's state is again short of money. I say again because we remember the famous statements of Deputy Prime Minister and long-time Finance Minister Rostowski – there is no money and there will be none. This money was lacking in the years 2007-2015 – stated Adam Bielan on TV Republika.

- Suddenly, later, under PiS rule, money was found, VAT loopholes were sealed, and the fuel mafia was effectively fought, among other things. Suddenly, tens of billions were available for necessary social programs and our healthcare system – he continued.

09:22

Leśkiewicz on the So-Called Right-Wing Senate Pact:

The President Said the Topic is Open.

- Not all topics that the President discusses with politicians, representatives of parliamentary groupings, MPs, and senators, have to be communicated publicly immediately - said Rafał Leśkiewicz on Radio Plus, when asked about the so-called right-wing Senate pact and whether the President could be a patron of such an initiative.

- This is an interesting concept [...] the President mentioned it in several of his interviews, that this topic is on the table and this topic is, as it were, open - he continued.

09:20

Bielan on the Sejm's Secret Session:

I'm Surprised Some Media Still Fall for Tusk's Tricks,

- A political stunt, typical of Tusk. I am surprised that some media, of course not your station, still fall for such tricks of Tusk's, which he has been using since 2007, since he first became Prime Minister. He invents these kinds of events, only to distract from topics inconvenient for him - stated Adam Bielan on TV Republika.

09:14

Leśkiewicz on Relations with the Trump Administration:

We Have Ongoing Contact.

- We have ongoing contact with President Donald Trump's administration; these relations are current. There haven't been any conversations between President Donald Trump and Karol Nawrocki in the last few or a dozen or so days, but that doesn't mean we aren't in contact with President Donald Trump's administration on an ongoing basis, and issues concerning security in the region are crucial for us - said Rafał Leśkiewicz on Radio Plus.

09:06

Leśkiewicz on the Ruling Camp and Health-Related Proposals:

They Simply Don't Have Them.

- For two years, the ruling camp has spoken about 58 specific points concerning healthcare, proposals meant to resolve health-related issues through legislation. Out of these 58 projects and ideas, which were part of Donald Tusk's '100 Specific Points,' or various proposals and promises made by PSL, Lewica, and Polska 2050, less than 8 have been implemented - stated Rafał Leśkiewicz on Radio Plus.

- The remaining ones are either in some phase of implementation that we are unaware of, or they are not being implemented at all. This shows that the ruling camp does not consult any project with the President [...] primarily because they simply do not have them - he continued.

Veto Vote Today. Kaczyński: We Will Support the President

- We will support the president [in the vote on the veto of the cryptocurrency market act]. I don't deal with cryptocurrencies at all. Personally, I think they should be banned, but here the president has decided it's over-regulation - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

Medical Summit More Effective Than Cabinet Council? Presidential Spokesperson Explains

- First and foremost, the President wants to compel the government to work - said Rafał Leśkiewicz in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's program "Sedno Sprawy" (The Core of the Matter).

- Not necessarily. The Cabinet Council is simply and solely a government session chaired by the President, but it has a more informational character; no executive actions are taken there. Besides, the ruling party may not necessarily want to tell the truth about what is actually happening in healthcare - he continued, responding to the host's suggestion that a Cabinet Council would perhaps be better.

- The summit is certainly more effective because we will meet with representatives of the medical community - he went on, when asked if the summit would be more effective.

Banning Braun's Party? Sikorski: They Are Beginning to Meet the Criteria

- I will not be the one to decide [on the potential delegalization of the Confederation of the Polish Crown]. As I understand it, the Constitutional Tribunal has just struck off the Communist Party of Poland, rightly recognizing, in my opinion, that propagating totalitarian left-wing ideology is forbidden in Poland – Radosław Sikorski said in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.

- On the other hand, we would have a fascist party whose leader, in Auschwitz, denies the existence of gas chambers and denies the crimes of the German Reich. That is also forbidden in Poland – he pointed out.

- I believe that these gentlemen are calling for hatred, propagating a fascist, Nazi historical narrative, so they are beginning to meet the criteria. I think that's all I can say – he stated.

Sikorski:

Zelensky's crown wouldn't have fallen off had he requested a visit to the Presidential Palace while passing through Poland

- Such insistent demands for apologies, for some sort of tribute [from Ukraine] in a situation where they are fighting for their lives, evokes my distaste. But on the other hand, President Zelensky's crown wouldn't have fallen off had he, while passing through Poland, requested a visit to the Presidential Palace - said Radosław Sikorski in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.

Sikorski:

Ziobro Gives Interviews and Travels While Trying to Feign Illness

- He [Zbigniew Ziobro] is probably shooting himself in the foot, because he gives interviews, is active, and travels, while at the same time trying to feign illness. So, I don't understand anything anymore - said Radosław Sikorski in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.

Sikorski on Secret Sejm Debates:

The Matter Must Be Serious, We Have a Surprising Presidential Veto.

- The matter must be very serious. As we know, we have a presidential veto, a very surprising one, because we are perhaps the last country in the EU where there is complete anarchy in this market – said Radosław Sikorski in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM, when asked about the secret debates of the Sejm.

When pressed if it concerned cryptocurrencies, he replied: - My female intuition suggests so, but I have no knowledge on the subject.

- I don't know [if there will be an attack on the president for the veto, as Krzysztof Bosak suggested], but I do know that companies in this industry sponsor politicians on the right side of the political scene, so they have reasons for a nervous reaction. It seems to be no secret that the conference in Rzeszów [CPAC Poland] was financed by this industry – he continued.

Sobierańska-Grenda on the Idea of Banning Alcohol Sales at Petrol Stations:

Here We Are Unambiguous.

- We, as the Ministry of Health, are certainly in favor of limiting access to alcohol. At petrol stations, yes [a complete ban]. I think here we are unambiguous and we would probably not be in favor of alcohol being sold at petrol stations - said Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda in “One on One” on TVN24.

Sobierańska-Grenda Comments on the Idea of a Salary Cap:

We’ll Rather Leave This Matter to Hospital Managers.

- The idea of a salary cap was a trade union demand; it was on the table before I came to the Ministry of Health. We analyzed this idea, like any other that arrived at the Ministry of Health. The proposal, specifically 44-48, was calculated by AOTMiT [Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariffs] as a proposal stemming from the valuations and data available to AOTMiT, a proposal to start with – Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda said on TVN24’s “Jeden na jeden.”

- However, I believe that after consultations with the medical community, after what we also see regarding the legal difficulties in implementing such a solution, I think we will rather take the position that we will leave this matter to hospital managers – the Minister of Health continued.

Sobierańska-Grenda:

Health Contribution Will Not Be Raised, So We Are Seeking Budget Subsidies

- We have a low contribution compared to [EU countries], we contribute quite a lot when it comes to public healthcare, however, there is no political and social consensus to raise the health contribution, therefore, I would of course like to see increased spending, I would like us to pay realistically. Voices are also heard in the tripartite team that there are many privileged groups regarding reduced payments for healthcare. However, I think that these decisions were clearly voiced yesterday, that the health contribution will not be raised, so we are looking for funds through subsidies from the state budget - said Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda in “Jeden na jeden” on TVN24.

Sobierańska-Grenda:

Health Contributions Aren't Enough. The National Health Fund's Budget Isn't Adding Up

- We are already seeing, as I mentioned, that our health contributions are not enough. We see that for next year, a higher contribution is forecast by 11 billion, and even then, the National Health Fund's budget isn't adding up. As Minister of Health, I will always fight for higher healthcare funding - Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda said in “Jeden na jeden” on TVN24.
