Błaszczak:
Ukraine's Subsidy Era Is Over
- The government of the December 13 coalition boasts about obtaining loans from the EU from the SAFE fund. The SAFE fund amounts to 150 billion euros in total, with 43 billion euros intended for Poland. I would like to remind you, firstly, that this is a loan, and secondly, I point out that the documents concerning this matter have been classified. Applications should have been submitted by November 30, and they are classified - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference.
- It is the Polish taxpayer who will repay the loan, which was taken out for unknown contracts. The coordinator of these contracts, Minister Sobkowiak, claims that almost 10 billion zlotys will be allocated to Ukraine. Therefore, the Polish taxpayer will repay a loan taken out by the Polish government, and these funds will go to Ukraine - he stated.
"Ukraine's Subsidy Era Is Over"
He indicated: - I want to state clearly that the era of subsidizing Ukraine is over. Ukraine should have been supported when it was attacked by Russia, at that very important moment concerning Ukraine's independence or the fact that Russia would be on our eastern border [...] and at that time, the PiS government provided such aid to Ukraine. It was thanks to the tanks provided by the PiS government that Ukraine defended itself. But that time has passed.
"Who Governs Poland? In Whose Interest Is This Government?"
In his opinion: - This money should be allocated to the Polish defense industry. Ukrainians can and should order weapons from the Polish defense industry. Therefore, 10 billion, instead of going to Ukraine, should go, for example, to a drone factory, and these drones, produced in Poland, could be ordered by the Ukrainian side.
- When we add to this the fact that the Minister of Foreign Affairs is readily handing over 100 million dollars to Ukraine, I ask a fundamental question: Who governs Poland? In whose interest is this government? Is it in Poland's interest? - he asked.
