No Witch Hunts, We Want to Do This Collectively." Żurek on Resolving the "Neo-Judges

- With this act, we are eliminating the risk of compensation claims arising from rulings by neo-judges, and we are referring here, of course, to the Supreme Court, as we already have established case law there. This act, of course, also affects judges in common courts, neo-judges. Because we know that this is also a problem. Many of these individuals are also in a state of uncertainty, many of them take offense at being called that. It's a phrase coined in the media that has simply stuck. With this act, we will be ending this issue; there will be no witch hunts, we want to do this collectively - Waldemar Żurek said at a press conference.

- Our discussions with international organizations have yielded one clear message: if we were to conduct an individual assessment of each neo-judge, firstly, the judiciary would only deal with itself and would have no time to adjudicate citizens' cases; it is simply unfeasible and would take years. Furthermore, for those individuals undergoing this individual assessment, a professional and life ordeal could truly begin, as all their flaws and all their connections within the neo-National Council of the Judiciary would be exposed, leading to what I call tracking and a witch hunt. We want to avoid that - the Minister of Justice continued.
