- Excessively growing debt is a trap for Poland's development. An increase in debt only makes sense when it is allocated to projects serving future generations. That is why the Law and Justice government so strongly supported the construction of CPK, the nuclear power plant, and the diversification of gas supplies - says the narrator in a video published by Mateusz Morawiecki.
- The current avalanche-like increase in debt relative to GDP is the result of a poor match by Tusk and Domański between current expenditures and budget revenues. Their fiscal chaos threatens to exceed 75% debt by the end of the decade. At the end of Mateusz Morawiecki's government, this ratio did not exceed 50%. - we hear further in the recording from the former Prime Minister.
Between 2023 and 2026 alone, the debt increase will exceed one trillion zlotys. By 2029, it will reach an astronomical 2 trillion zlotys. Nominally, this is 15% more in 6 years than in the previous 30 years and more than 2.5 times more than in the years 2015-2023. This money is not going towards development; it serves to maintain the fragile coalition of December 15th. You have fallen into a debt spiral; stop falsifying reality; this mess needs to be cleaned up. - the narrator continues.
