Petru on the Future of Poland 2050:

If Hołownia Decided to Join the Government, We Have a Chance for a New Life.

- No, because we are in a governing coalition, all options are on the table. A lot will depend on Szymon Hołownia's decision, what he does in mid-November, when he ceases to be the Marshal, and he will determine the further course, however, it is a party created by him, his name is inscribed in its name, therefore, if, for example, he decided to join the government, then I believe we have a new chance for a new life - said Ryszard Petru in the "Piasecki's Talk" on TVN24, when asked if Poland 2050 is a party that "is declining and ending its life".

- As long as the options are open, as long as they are not closed, in that sense, he can still do it - he continued.

- I would prefer him to join, I believe this is a great opportunity for him, but he has the right not to want to, and it is his decision - he went on to say.

Bogucki on the Establishment of a Constitution Council:

A Matter of the Coming Weeks.

- I think it's a matter of the coming weeks [the establishment of a Constitution Council]. Yesterday, I even discussed this topic with one of the constitutional law professors. I believe it's a matter of the coming weeks, and this council will be established and will begin working on a new Constitution of the Republic of Poland - stated Zbigniew Bogucki on RMF FM.

Bogucki:

The Worst Thing We Can Do Today is Talk About Who Will Be Minister, Who Will Be Prime Minister

- Returning to this topic, I will do everything to ensure that the Prime Minister is a PiS politician. Because that will be good for Poland. And I think our political camp will decide on that. We have many leaders, each with their great advantages, but today I believe it is not the time to deal out the cards. The worst thing we can do today is to say who will be minister, who will be prime minister, or if you have ambitions - stated Zbigniew Bogucki on RMF FM.

09:36

Bogucki:

I'd Like to Stay on the Political Stage Longer Than One Season

- Everyone has ambitions, but today I don't have them, I think there are many more... I have ambitions. Everyone would like to hold important positions, but one also has to grow into positions and take responsibility. I think I am at a stage in my life, my professional activities, where I am still learning a great deal – stated Zbigniew Bogucki on RMF FM, when asked if he would like to be Prime Minister.

- Politics is a team game. If someone understands this, they can go far. If someone doesn't understand it, they can be a very flashy one-season actor. I would like to be, however, because these are my plans, my ambitions, on this political stage for longer than one season. So, a little more humility, calm. One must have ambitions, but one must also realize them responsibly and also play in a team – he continued.

Bogucki:

There is no doubt that the President's veto forced the government to work

- There is no doubt that Mr. President Nawrocki, with his veto, forced the government to start working and to limit benefits for Ukrainians, those who are not in Poland but sometimes visit, those who do not work, do not pay taxes, and this has happened with the 800+ program. The 800+ program will be tightened up, of course it's a matter of time, because that's what the law assumes, but the 800+ will also be tightened up not only for Ukrainians but also for foreigners in general - stated Zbigniew Bogucki on RMF FM.

President Favors Low Bills for Polish Families. Bogucki on the Heating Voucher

- I cannot say whether the President will sign or veto something, as that is the exclusive prerogative of the head of state. The President returns today, tomorrow we will definitely talk, and the President will certainly make a decision so that Poles do not have high bills. He has always spoken about this and will stick to it - stated Zbigniew Bogucki in RMF FM.

- Moreover, this legislative initiative by the President, he passed a bill that was de facto 1:1 government-issued, and the government did not want to work on it, shows that the President is in favor of low bills for Polish families - he continued.

Petru on Mileage Allowances and Constituency Office Expenses:

A Certain Formula Has Been Adopted, It Can Be Changed, The Question Is Whether There's a Scandal Here.

- I felt a bit unfairly treated, because, for example, first of all, it's a lump sum and therefore it is all legal, and nobody asks me, for example, why I don't collect my parliamentary salary, because if you were to calculate the savings from that title over 4 years, the Sejm could earn 900,000 PLN from me - said Ryszard Petru on TVN24, when asked why MPs get nervous when asked to account for mileage allowances and constituency office expenses.

- But it's not accounted for in the way of where exactly [they traveled] - he continued, after the host pointed out that mileage allowances are not settled as a lump sum, because MPs must declare how many kilometers they have driven.

- A certain formula has been adopted, it can be changed, the question is whether there is a scandal here, or whether it is more a matter of us not liking something, because I believe the scandal is much bigger where Obajtek transferred 1.5 billion and that money disappeared [...] of course, I know this is not very spectacular, two dishwashers instead of one are much more spectacular - he continued.

- There must be something between procedures and common sense [...] we need to distinguish between what is illegal and what is poorly perceived or unethical or immoral - he added.

Ban on Nighttime Alcohol Sales? Petru: Local Governments Should Decide. In Warsaw, I Would Vote for Restrictions

- I believe that local governments should make these decisions. If I were a Warsaw councilor, which I am not, I would vote for restrictions from 11 PM to 6 AM. I am aware that the situation is different in Wilanów, where we are now, and I don't see the need here. However, the Warsaw City Council makes decisions for all of Warsaw - said Ryszard Petru on TVN24 when asked if he is in favor of a ban on nighttime alcohol sales in Warsaw.

- I am against [...] we are talking about Warsaw [...] but when we talk about smaller towns, I have no idea what the situation is like in Świnoujście, Ustrzyki, Zgorzelec, or Świdnica. Let them make decisions locally - he continued when asked about the Left's proposal to ban nighttime alcohol sales nationwide.

08:13

Petru:

Dialogue with the President is Crucial, But He Must Be Open and Not Reject Bills That Significantly Increase the Deficit

- There are various actions that can reduce the deficit, lower debt, and it's important to enter into dialogue with the president. However, the president must also be open, not say "no, just because," and not submit bills that significantly increase the budget deficit, which happened immediately after he became president - said Ryszard Petru on TVN24.

- This is a moment for a reset. It would be good if they moved away from the formula where the president's entourage continues to behave as if they were PiS MPs, constantly making digs at the current coalition - he continued.

08:00

Petru:

I Support a Return to Poland 2050's 2023 Values, While Some Want to Move Very Leftward, Even Towards Leaving the Coalition

- We definitely need to redefine ourselves. I am in favour of returning to what were the values of Poland 2050 in the 2023 elections, namely entrepreneurship, green issues, entrepreneurship, and social matters - said Ryszard Petru on TVN24.

- And there are those who want to go in a very strongly left-wing direction, including ideas of leaving the coalition, which I am very much against, because I believe that although the coalition could be more spirited, it could do things more dynamically, we are jointly responsible, and I am also jointly responsible for the successes and potential failures of the coalition - he continued.

- I won't reveal that, I'm saying that such ideas are appearing - he went on, when asked who had these ideas.

- Such ideas emerged in discussions, and I'm deliberately talking about it because I know they are not good ideas - he added, when pressed whether these were voices within Poland 2050.
