– We are starting our visit to Kyiv with Minister Zalewski, Ambassador [Łukasiewicz], all our colleagues, and also representatives of the Polish Army. We began at a memorial site for Ukrainian soldiers. Thousands of photos on the wall, each with its own story. Together with Prime Minister Shmyhal, we laid flowers at this wall, which shows that the war here is ongoing – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in Kyiv.

"The land on which Polish and Ukrainian blood has flowed. The perpetrator was the same."

– Now we are at the cemetery in Kyiv's Bykivnia, at the Commonwealth War Cemetery, in front of a wall with thousands of names, in a forest where our compatriots are buried, bestially murdered by the NKVD, especially after 1937, but also at other times – he continued.

– This same land drank the Polish blood of officers in Kharkiv, in the Katyń forests, and has now been steeped in the blood of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians. So if anything can certainly reconcile us, unite us, it is the land on which Polish and Ukrainian blood has flowed. The perpetrator was the same – he pointed out.

Defense Minister on Meetings with Ukrainian Ministers

– Shortly, meetings with Minister Shmyhal, Minister Umerov. A whole series of discussions about what we can do together to defend ourselves, support each other, and acquire skills. We – to implement the experiences from the war in Ukraine, and Ukraine – must be drawn towards the Western world. Because the worst thing that could happen is to push Ukraine back towards Moscow – he stated.
