Tuesday's Political Agenda: Government Meeting on KPO, PiS Politicians Before Chancellery
The government meeting will commence at 12:00. As announced by the Prime Minister yesterday, the issue of the KPO will be discussed during the government meeting: – Minister Pełczyńska-Nałęcz is responsible for these actions. Tomorrow, during the government session, she will likely spend a long, long time explaining each element of these procedures, and she will also speak about what she has done as the overseer of this ministry. After this report, I will have sufficient material to make decisions - he said. - If necessary, also personnel decisions. I do not intend to threaten anyone, especially at a press conference, but if I deem that someone has failed here, also at a political level, they will bear the consequences - added the head of government. At 13:00, a press conference will be held in front of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister by PiS politicians Jan Kanthak, Olga Semeniuk, Rafał Bochenek, and Mateusz Kurzejewski.

Czarnek:

PO and the December 13th Coalition Blocked the KPO for Several Years
- It certainly won't be possible to recover [the money], because from the very beginning it was a great attack on Poles' money, in the sense that the entire PO and the December 13th coalition blocked the KPO for several years so that Poles wouldn't have this money. Now, as the end of the EU's application settlement approaches, they are hastily creating programs just to spend the money, and they are spending it on nonsense - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Republika.

07:49

Czarnek:

KPO Was Blocked by Tusk and Others. For That, People Should Be Imprisoned
- Of course, it's the end [of the KPO], because it's the last moment to utilize it. We certainly won't use these funds. Someone will remind you that the 1.2 billion they allocated for this absurd project is the same amount we needed, for example, for a sectoral skills center, meaning modern vocational education, which we created anyway with Minister Machałek, and for which we found alternative funding from PFR, because the money from the KPO that was supposed to go to it was blocked by Tusk and others - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Republika. - These people should be held accountable for that, because it's a lot of money, wasted and not used by Poles. For that, they should be imprisoned - he continued.

08:03

Bogucki:

Numerous Amendments to the Wind Turbine Act Raise Constitutional Doubts
- In the Polish parliament, so many amendments, in my opinion bad ones, were added to this [wind turbine] act, which in general raise certain doubts of a constitutional nature. I am not making a decision today; this decision must be made by the President - said Zbigniew Bogucki in an interview with Agata Adamek on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden". - No, I am not saying that and I am not advising [the President to send the act to the Constitutional Tribunal], and what I am advising, I will not reveal today, because that is a conversation between me and the President - he continued. "No Decision Today" - There is no such formulation today, there is no such decision today [not to sign the wind turbine act] [...] the decision rests with the head of state - he went on to say.

08:11

Bogucki:

If There's Minimal Reason on the Government's Side, We'll Handle Energy Price Freezing
- That is the wrong question. I will answer this way: President Karol Nawrocki will handle this in such a way that Poles, 100%, if there is minimal reason on the side of the ruling party and the politicians sitting in the Polish Sejm and Polish Senate [...] then truly, calmly, we will cope with this - said Zbigniew Bogucki on TVN24, when asked if President Karol Nawrocki wants to take on the responsibility of revoking energy price freezing for Poles until the end of the year, given that the price freezing is valid until September 30th, and the president might not sign another bill.

08:14

Czarnek:

I Hope These Are the Last Weeks of This Government
- He [Bogdan Klich] will be the head [of the diplomatic mission] there as long as the Tusk government lasts. I hope these are the last weeks of this government, and then a normal ambassador will be appointed, who will have access to the White House and will be able to represent Poland every day and every hour - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Republika.

08:17

Czarnek on TVN Viewers:

Even if told it’s freezing and snowing, they’ll put on fur coats, even if they step outside and see sunshine and relative warmth.
- Of course, it will succeed in some part, because approximately 40% of Poles watch TVN and other stations, which are also facing liquidation today, and even if they were told that today it's freezing, minus 10 degrees, and snowing, even if they stepped outside and saw sunshine and relative warmth, although not too hot, they would still put on fur coats, because they'd say Tusk said it's snowing. That's how they are, unfortunately - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Republika.

08:19

Kosiniak-Kamysz Drastically Misrepresents Facts. Bogucki on the Sale of Polish Land to Foreigners
- To put it mildly, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz is drastically diverging from reality and facts - said Zbigniew Bogucki on TVN24, when asked about Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz's words that it was under the PiS government that the most Polish land was sold to foreigners. - The most land was sold before 2015. It was, as I recall, 5,000 hectares, for which permits from the Ministry of Interior and Administration were required. During the Law and Justice government, in 2016, laws were introduced that blocked this illegal trade and the sell-off of Polish land to foreigners and the so-called 'straw man' land purchases - he continued.

08:33

Bogucki on Sikorski, Tusk, and Talks Before Nawrocki's Visit to the USA:

We're Waiting for Them to Understand They Should Ask the President for a Meeting.
- I think Minister Sikorski, the Deputy Prime Minister, should already be seeking a meeting with the President, and Donald Tusk should do the same, because they haven't been able to meet for over a dozen months with one of the leaders of the free world, who is the President of the United States - Zbigniew Bogucki said on TVN24 when asked if President Karol Nawrocki plans to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski or Prime Minister Donald Tusk before his conversation with Donald Trump, to consult on what he will be taking to Washington, given that it is the government that shapes foreign policy. - President Nawrocki isn't waiting for anything; he has his own agenda, his own policy, his own contacts in Washington, and Polish interests. Today, we are waiting for the President to wait for the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who holds the rank of Deputy Prime Minister, and perhaps the Prime Minister himself, to finally understand that since they themselves have no contacts with the administration in Washington [...] they should ask the President for that meeting, so they can also present their agenda; there would probably be many common matters - he continued. - The President, the head of state, will not be soliciting the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is not fulfilling his duties, to tell him about how he is not fulfilling his duties - he added.

08:39

Czarnek Mocks: 'I've Been in Prison for 3 Years. The Court Has Issued So Many Convictions I'll Never Get Out'
- I must disappoint you. It doesn't make a big impression on me, because I've been in prison for 3 years, due to all the scandals I've caused, the prosecutor's office has brought so many charges against me, and the court has issued so many convictions that I will truly never get out. Of course, I'm joking - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Republika.

0% PIT Most Beneficial for the Wealthiest? Bogucki: All Families with at Least Two Children Will Benefit, Averaging Around a Thousand Zlotys
- All families with at least two children will benefit from this. Today in Poland, half of families have only one child, among those who have children. We have a serious demographic problem today, which would be even more serious if it weren't for 500+ or today's 800+ - said Zbigniew Bogucki on TVN24, when asked about calculations indicating that the wealthiest will gain the most from the 0% PIT project proposed by Karol Nawrocki. - The average Polish family with at least two children will gain around a thousand zlotys per month - he continued.

08:59

Withdrawal from the Constitutional Tribunal of the Act Enabling Teenagers to Contact a Psychologist Without Parental Consent? Bogucki: No Discussions on This Matter
- There was a decision by President Andrzej Duda, there are no discussions on this matter, the tribunal will rule in this regard – said Zbigniew Bogucki on TVN24, when asked if the president would withdraw the act from the Constitutional Tribunal enabling teenagers to consult with a psychologist without parental consent. - Perhaps [the ombudswoman for children] is discussing it with the president's circle, certainly no one has discussed it with me, I don't know if anyone has discussed it with the President, in my deep conviction, President Andrzej Duda's decision was good, as it was dictated by considerations of safety and care for our youth, for children, but on the other hand, by adherence to constitutional rules – he continued. - We need to seek solutions where, of course, minors will have adequate support, but parents and legal guardians are the guarantor, as a rule, of their safety and interests – he continued. - Regarding health, I have spoken, for example, with Minister Katarzyna Sójka, who has truly interesting ideas here, and perhaps we, either with the President, or the Law and Justice party club itself, will present such solutions, formulate or present legislative assumptions that will be consistent with the Constitution and the good of these young people and will respect parental authority – he went on to say.

09:07

Leśkiewicz:

Minister Sikorski Should Seek a Meeting with the President
- The President, as the head of state, is also responsible [for foreign policy] [...] Please read carefully what is written in the fifth chapter of the Polish Constitution, in articles 126 to 145, which concern competencies. Yes, 133. And precisely, and here is the key word 'cooperates'. There must be - stated Rafał Leśkiewicz on the program „Poranek TOK FM”, when asked if, before his meeting with Trump, Nawrocki would meet with Foreign Minister Sikorski. - A meeting should take place, but it is Minister Sikorski who should seek a meeting with President Karol Nawrocki. The President is the head of state, he represents the state externally, beyond the borders of Poland. Therefore, Minister Sikorski should arrange a meeting with President Karol Nawrocki - he continued.

09:10

Leśkiewicz on the Wind Farm Act:

The President Has Not Yet Made a Decision.
- Perhaps I expressed myself imprecisely yesterday in the Polish Press Agency studio. The President currently has 38 laws on his desk to sign, so there are a lot of these laws. So many laws have been sent to the Chancellery of the President, and one of them is the wind farm act. But we are also clearly saying that this act is, well, to put it mildly, a slight foul by the ruling party, because on the one hand, we talk about lowering energy prices. President Karol Nawrocki clearly emphasized this during the election campaign – he wants to lower energy prices. But wind farms... First there will be a freeze, and then a 33% reduction planned by the President – stated Rafał Leśkiewicz in the program "Poranek TOK FM", when asked about the President's decision regarding the wind farm act. - It is an excellent idea to freeze energy prices and then lower them – he said. - However, wind farms are meeting with significant social resistance. We are talking about reducing the distance from 700 to 500 meters. Mr. Editor, would you like to have such a large wind turbine in the immediate vicinity of your home, where on the one hand we have... Well, it's only half a kilometer, considering how large these wind turbines are. It affects the quality of life, and it also affects the environment – the President's spokesperson continued. - Therefore, serious consideration should be given to how to solve this problem. The President has not yet made any decision – he added.

09:21

Leśkiewicz on meetings with voters in the field:

The President is not campaigning.
- Absolutely not. The President is not running any election campaign. The President won the presidential election, he gained a mandate to govern - stated Rafał Leśkiewicz in the program "Poranek TOK FM", when asked if the president's regular activity is the beginning of a campaign for the 2027 parliamentary elections. - There is such a narrative appearing in public discussion that the president is preparing for a war with Donald Tusk's government, but the president has clearly defined what his presidency will be like. He said this during the address he delivered immediately after being sworn in before the National Assembly. He also said that he is the voice of Poles and wants to be close to Poles, therefore he meets with Poles in various places in Poland and will also meet with Poles outside of Poland - he continued. - It won't be day after day. That's impossible. The president also has to perform his duties as head of state - he emphasized.

The Climax of the Ukrainian War is Approaching, So Russia is Doing Everything... Tusk Tweets About 'Foreign Agents and Local Idiots'
- The climax of the Ukrainian war is approaching, so Russia is doing everything to sow discord between Kyiv and Warsaw. Anti-Polish gestures by Ukrainians and the fanning of anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Poland are Putin's scenario, orchestrated by foreign agents and local idiots. Always the same ones - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

Our Proposal is Simple – Give Back the Yachts, We'll Buy the CT Scanners.' Buda on the KPO Scandal
- "Article 21 concerning the KPO clearly states: the KPO can be amended or even entirely replaced if objective circumstances arise, and any member state can request such a change. They had almost 2 years not only to change the KPO but to replace it according to their own vision of how these funds should be spent. So, if they were implementing any of the previously programmed tools and programs, it was their conscious choice," stated Waldemar Buda at a press briefing. - "Could the money allocated for yachts have been redirected to healthcare, to CT scanners in hospitals? It could have been, and more importantly, it should have been. The KPO's decisions regarding healthcare led to a situation where out of 259 applications for highly specialized care, only 102 were positively recommended, assessed, and received funding. Less than half. However, 96 out of 259 applications were positively reviewed but did not receive recommendations due to a lack of funds," he continued. As the former minister said: - "So, we have nearly a hundred good, ready applications that did not receive funding because the money ran out. It would have been very simple to redirect it to hospitals. And today, a clear question arises: do we want to spend money on yachts, effectively on private assets, or do we want to finance healthcare and, for example, shorten the waiting times for endoscopy, for diagnostics, cancer treatment, or cancer diagnostics?" - "Today, our proposal is simple – give back the yachts, we'll buy the CT scanners. We are annulling the entire competition, they return and sell the yachts, and we buy those CT scanners, behind which hospitals are queuing, which have prepared applications, positively assessed but negatively recommended due to a lack of funds," Buda emphasized.

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Friday's Summit:

I Approach This Meeting with Hope, But Without Excessive Enthusiasm.
- I always approach with hope the moment when there is a chance for peace. If peace is possible, peace is our duty. Of course, knowing our history, we do not know the concept of peace at any cost, and this peace must be just, fair, and must occur with Ukraine's participation. I know that there was a conversation with the Secretary of State, representatives of President Zelensky. This is good news, I believe that Ukraine's agency, its involvement, what they have been doing for 3 years in a heroic struggle, an unequal fight, must be respected – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing. - President Trump's determination to achieve peace is visible. Peace, if it is to be good, must be lasting and just. And that is what matters most. With the participation of those who have done the most to achieve this peace, meaning Ukraine and its soldiers have done the most, and the countries that have supported them, including Poland, so our opinion is also important – he continued. - I approach this meeting with hope, but without excessive enthusiasm, because there have been more such situations in history. The meeting can be a breakthrough, give a quick and strong impulse. I believe that this is certainly a chance for peace – emphasized the Minister of National Defence.

12:34

"They will have to leave the country." Tusk: The situation that so outraged public opinion has reached its conclusion
- I can say with satisfaction that the situation that so outraged public opinion has reached its conclusion. I am referring to the riots, acts of aggression, and certain provocations at the National Stadium during the concert of a Belarusian rapper. Absolutely unnecessary events occurred there that required a swift response. I have just received information that proceedings to leave the country have been initiated against 63 people, and they will have to leave the country voluntarily or under duress if they do not leave voluntarily. In this group, there are 57 Ukrainians and 6 Belarusians - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting.

12:40

Tusk:

We Must Not Allow Anti-Ukrainian Sentiments to Be Unleashed
- In any case, and I say this with full conviction, I am speaking in the interest of Poland, our security; we must not allow anti-Ukrainian sentiments to be unleashed, just as the Ukrainian authorities must ensure that no one in Kyiv, Ukraine, or Poland gets the idea for Ukrainians to make any unnecessary anti-Polish gestures – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

12:41

Tusk:

It is a fundamental issue for Polish security that Putin does not receive a gift before these talks
- In the coming days, resolutions may be reached in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The effect of President Trump's actions and these potential talks in Alaska between President Trump and President Putin, that effect remains a great unknown. It is a truly fundamental issue from the perspective of Polish security that Putin does not receive a gift before these talks, before this meeting, and such a gift would certainly be to create conflict between Ukrainians and Poles, or more broadly, between Ukraine and Europe - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

12:44

Tusk:

It Would Be a Historic Crime and Unimaginable Stupidity
- I will be asking all sensible, decent Poles to react where reaction is needed, to evil if it is happening, to transgressions, crimes, provocations, and regardless of who commits them. But at the same time, perhaps it will sound a bit old-fashioned, but we must all be vigilant not to fall prey to Russian manipulation and provocation ourselves. We cannot allow a wave of hatred between Ukrainians and Poles, or Poles and Ukrainians, to be unleashed. It would be a historic crime and unimaginable stupidity - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting.

12:55

Tusk:

PiS Bears 100% Responsibility for Problems with Spending European Funds
- One party is to blame for this confusion, which stemmed from haste, and haste was absolutely necessary because the dilemma was precisely this - either we lose this money, or we spend it as quickly as possible so that it also reaches Polish entrepreneurs, Polish companies. Therefore, not for political reasons, but out of elementary honesty, I will repeat it once more today: 100% responsibility for the problems with spending European money lies with PiS, its idiotic, aggressive, anti-European policy, and the theft of time. They didn't just steal money, they stole precious time from Poland - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session. - As I have already said publicly, this in no way can explain the inaction, sloppiness, or ill will of officials who were responsible for the distribution of these funds, and we want to discuss this and hear the report and information from the minister responsible for this department - he continued.

13:37

PiS Presents KPO Exhibition in Front of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister:

Tusk's Government Squandered Funds Meant for Development.
- This exhibition illustrates what has happened over the past months and weeks with EU funds in Poland. Contrary to what one politician from the current ruling coalition says, that there is no scandal, people on the street, Polish citizens, who are following this closely, especially in recent days, are saying that there has been a gigantic misappropriation, squandering, and even theft of public funds - said Rafał Bochenek at a press conference in front of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. - These funds, which were meant to serve development, which were also to constitute innovative assistance for our homeland, have been squandered by Tusk's government on isolated investments that in no way correspond to what these funds should actually be spent on - he continued. - This is the first stop of this exhibition, because this exhibition will travel throughout Poland. Our parliamentarians in every district will be organizing conferences and meetings with residents in the coming days and will be discussing this gigantic scandal - he went on to say.

16:04

Szłapka on Government's Stance Regarding US-Russian Talks:

No Agreement on Making Decisions Without Ukraine's Participation.
- The matter I wish to address is the adopted stance of the Polish government regarding the US-Russian talks on ending Russian aggression against Ukraine. In brief, the most important point is that, according to Poland's position, there is no consent for conducting talks that bypass the directly interested states, in this case, Ukraine - stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference. - Europe must be solidary; together as Europe, we must participate in these talks, in the aspects that concern Europe. And there is no consent for any decisions to be made outside of Ukraine, without Ukraine's participation - he continued.

16:50

"Today I made a decision…". Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Explains the KPO Scandal: "I Understand the Great Emotions and Public Outrage"
- The HoReCa program, which has raised doubts, was included in the KPO during the PiS era and approved during the PiS era. Subsequently, still under the previous government, a change was made to this program. The principle of the KPO is that if a program that has been included is changed, then further changes to it are essentially not possible. Nevertheless, this program was tightened, not loosened, contrary to the media information I saw, it was tightened. We introduced a one-year waiting period for the purchase of durable goods. This is because [the one-year] all investments from the grant part must be completed by 2026. If the KPO had started earlier, if this program had been implemented earlier, then this waiting period could have been longer - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz at a press conference. - I understand the great emotions and public outrage that some grants and some agreements signed within the HoReCa framework have caused. Therefore, we have undertaken very swift and extensive control actions. Secondly, control of PARP itself within the units that awarded these grants. Secondly, control of the Ministry of Funds within PARP. Finally, today I made the decision that no funds will be transferred for payments to beneficiaries until each individual agreement has been checked and deemed compliant with the HoReCa principles - she continued.

17:14

"What Don't You Understand?"Tusk: Nawrocki Decided to Veto the Law Guaranteeing Cheap Electricity
- President Nawrocki promised cheap electricity and, in connection with this, decided to veto the law guaranteeing… cheap electricity. What don't you understand? - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

19:40

Nawrocki Responds to Tusk:

I Do Not Intend to Yield to Such Blackmail.
I am very glad that the editor is talking about the wind turbine act, because in essence, it is about wind turbines in this act. The Prime Minister and the parliamentary majority want to blackmail not so much the President himself, but Poles, for whom they want to place wind turbines closer. Many Poles demonstrated on this matter during the election campaign and still today. There are problems with lobbying by certain companies, including foreign ones, that are building these wind turbines – stated Karol Nawrocki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń". - Therefore, if the government truly wants to lower energy prices for Poles, and after all, it was the Polish government that set September 13th as the date for energy tariffs to come into effect, I warned as early as January and February that this could be a real problem – emphasized the President of the Republic of Poland. - So, I do not intend to yield to such blackmail, and I think Poles are too intelligent a nation to think that Prime Minister Tusk actually wants to lower electricity prices. It is essentially about increasing the influence of lobbying firms on our households – he continued.

19:43

Nawrocki Announces Presidential Initiative:

Energy Prices Should Be Lower, I Will Help the Government and the Prime Minister in This.
- The decision will be made soon. I will certainly implement my program, which includes lower electricity prices, so I will approach this matter very carefully, but I do not intend to yield to such blackmail - stated Karol Nawrocki on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń". - It is certain that I will submit my own project regarding energy prices, not a reduction in the distance of wind turbines from households. Energy prices should certainly be lower, I will help the government and the Prime Minister in this, but I think that Poles should not be played with or blackmailed in this way - he continued.

19:49

"It Burden the Current Government and the Prime Minister Himself." Nawrocki on the KPO Affair: Poles Have the Right to Be Outraged
- What happened with these funds has stirred public opinion and, of course, burdens the current government and the Prime Minister himself, who is responsible for it. We see how difficult the situation of Polish public finances is, and when Poles hear that during this situation around public finances, public funds were spent on solariums, saunas, and yachts, they have the right to be outraged - stated Karol Nawrocki in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.

19:56

Nawrocki:

I See a War Criminal in Putin
I see a war criminal in Putin, who will not stop in his march against civilization, against democratic states, against the West. Therefore, I have great hope that these talks will conclude with lasting peace and a peace that will secure Poland's interests. This is what interests me most in these discussions. I have not the slightest degree of trust in Putin and I count on President Trump, the most powerful man in the world, to show Putin the path I am talking about - stated Karol Nawrocki in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

19:58

Nawrocki:

It's Probably High Time for the Prime Minister to Congratulate the New President of Poland
- The Prime Minister is not asking, as he himself mentioned, for a meeting with me. I am the new President of Poland, it is probably high time for the Prime Minister to congratulate the new President of Poland, because it has probably not yet passed the Prime Minister's lips, and perhaps this will be an opportunity for us to talk about our directions of cooperation - stated Karol Nawrocki on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń".

20:00

Nawrocki on the Invitation for Sikorski:

I Will Likely Meet.
- I will likely meet, I will invite Minister Sikorski to the Presidential Palace to discuss issues that fall within my competences and are also related to the Minister's area of activity - stated Karol Nawrocki on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:01

Nawrocki Responds to Tusk's Words and Assesses Possibility of Cooperation with the Prime Minister:

Real Politics Means...
- Real politics means that Poles elect their president, who currently holds the freshest mandate and enjoys the greatest direct support of Polish voters, also so that he can tell Prime Minister Donald Tusk what he has not done in 1.5 years, but promised - said President Karol Nawrocki in Polsat News, when asked about Prime Minister Donald Tusk's words that the real situation is that the president represents, but the government governs. - This is why Poles elect their president, so that he implements the prerogatives enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, and also so that he is their voice - he continued. - Therefore, if Prime Minister Donald Tusk knows the Constitution of the Republic of Poland well and respects Polish democracy and the choice of over 10 million Poles, then this cooperation should be structured according to the principles written by the will of Poles and the will of the Constitution, and first of all, he should congratulate and come for a discussion with the President about the future of Poland - he went on to say.

20:08

Nawrocki:

Prime Minister Tusk Should Be More Concerned About Prime Minister-President Relations Than President-PJK Relations
- Of course, these words from Prime Minister Donald Tusk [about the new leader of the right-wing], as I understand it, are spoken out of concern for Mr. Jarosław Kaczyński, with whom I have good relations [...] I think Prime Minister Donald Tusk should be more concerned about the relations between the Prime Minister and the President, rather than about the relations between the President and Mr. Jarosław Kaczyński - said President Karol Nawrocki on Polsat News. - Let him leave those relations to us, let him not look for leaders on the right, but rather engage in relations that are constitutionally and socially necessary for Poland today - he continued.

20:17

Nawrocki Positive About Cooperation with Hołownia and Kosiniak-Kamysz:

It's Successful.
- The cooperation with Marshal Szymon Hołownia is very good. As I say, we received many laws from the Polish Sejm, over 30 laws, it seems. I sent my legislative initiatives - said President Karol Nawrocki in Polsat News. - Yes, of course, I count on cooperation with the Marshal. Around the swearing-in ceremony, this cooperation was, I can say, exemplary. My colleagues said so, everything was prepared - he continued. - Both with Marshal Szymon Hołownia and with Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, regarding state matters. And soon we will see further fruits of this, for example, around general nominations, which, I hope, will be countersigned by the Prime Minister. This cooperation is successful and is aimed at us performing our duties together - he went on to say.

20:21

Nawrocki:

There's an understanding regarding general nominations. The Prime Minister's countersignature is a formality
- Yes, these discussions took place actually today and yesterday, there's a kind of understanding around general nominations, these talks were led by the Head of the National Security Bureau, Professor Cenckiewicz, and here, very efficient cooperation with Polish officers in mind, with Polish generals in mind, good preparations also for August 15th - said President Karol Nawrocki in Polsat News, when asked if he had already decided on the general nominations and only his decisions were awaiting the Prime Minister's countersignature. - Yes, yes, I consider it a formality - he continued, when pressed if the Prime Minister's countersignature was already a formality.

20:26

Limiting 800+? Nawrocki: I'm Open to Discussion
- Of course, I am open to all discussions about 800+, both about the 800+ paid to Ukrainians and the 800+ paid to individuals who do not entirely need this type of benefit. Polish demographic policy must be conducted in a planned, logical manner - said President Karol Nawrocki in Polsat News, when asked if, in connection with his proposal for 0% personal income tax (PIT), changes should be made to the 800+ program, e.g., by introducing an income criterion so that the wealthiest families do not receive this money.

20:38

Nawrocki to Żurek: Mr. Minister, You Are Not God, Realize It
- All my words spoken during the exposé are still valid. I can imagine [cooperating with Minister Żurek on reforms], but if the editor is asking about Paktofonika and quoted this, as I understand it, from your minister [...] the leader of Paktofonika himself [...] unfortunately, tragically convinced himself that he is not God. So, if the minister is watching us, I would like to tell him: Mr. Minister, you are not God, realize it, realize it - said President Karol Nawrocki on Polsat News, when asked about his words that judges are not gods and about the response of Minister Żurek, who quoted the song 'Jestem Bogiem' (I Am God) by Paktofonika.

20:54

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the KPO scandal:

This is a tiny slice of the entire KPO.
Today there was a discussion in the Council of Ministers, and it was a serious discussion [...] about what happened. I presented full information about the facts, about the justifiable public outrage surrounding the contracts that legitimately evoke emotions, while also showing that this is a tiny slice of the entire KPO – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program „Fakty po faktach” on TVN24, when asked if her resignation was considered. - We have signed 824,000 contracts in eighteen months. The entire HoReCa sector accounts for 3,000 contracts raising doubts, justifiable ones, everything will be known after the inspections, but we are talking about, well, a maximum of 100, perhaps a little more – she continued. - There is an inspection. There is already an inspection, and it is an inspection at PARP, and an inspection, meaning the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. [...] That's right, and then an inspection at the operators who directly conduct the recruitment for these projects. Every contract will be reviewed. Moreover, what is very important, and I also informed the Council of Ministers about this in detail, we must show respect for entrepreneurs, for honest beneficiaries with whom contracts have been signed, because there are, of course, dishonest ones. We will find them, we will hold them accountable, they will not receive money. But there are also honest ones, they deserve respect and payment – she concluded.

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on her conversation with Tusk regarding the KPO:

And that’s what I told the Prime Minister…
Editor, the Ministry of Funds and my responsibility lies in ensuring that European funds and the KPO are implemented according to the rules. This also means that I organize and supervise controls. Where things are wrong, I identify the errors and these errors are accounted for. Under me, if you look at it that way, there are currently about one and a half million concluded agreements. It is not the role of a minister to read, it is simply impossible to read each of these agreements. The operators, the implementing agencies, are responsible for individual agreements. However, my role is to ensure compliance with the rules, and if something is not in accordance with the rules, then to hold them accountable, to demand the return of funds, and this is happening in this case absolutely and effectively – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program „Fakty po faktach” on TVN24, when asked again if her resignation was considered. - The issue exists. It has two dimensions. Firstly, people are outraged, even if there are few such agreements, where there are irregularities, they are outrageous. So, they have been pointed out, they will be investigated, where things are wrong, it will be accounted for. And this is what I told the Prime Minister: until it is accounted for, until there is clear justice and also information for people about what happened, it is difficult to consider the matter closed. However, the second dimension, which we also discussed today at the Council of Ministers, is the implementation of the entire KPO, the implementation of HoReCa, so that all honest beneficiaries receive these funds and that the KPO moves forward as quickly as possible – she continued. - For the entire matter, if you look solely at HoReCa, Law and Justice is responsible. This project was introduced into the KPO by Law and Justice. Subsequently, it was amended, so-called revision of this project took place, and after the revision, the program can no longer be withdrawn from the KPO – Pełczyńska-Nałęcz summarized.

Pełczyńska on the PARP President:

The President's Resignation Was for Other Reasons.
There is no letter from the President addressed to me... in which she informed me about irregularities in this HoReCa sector. However, the way of operation, and this is all stipulated in the agreements between PARP and the ministry, these are all regulated agreements, there are truly procedures and principles here. The Ministry supervises, PARP is the institution that implements, and the five agencies selected through a special competition directly carry out projects with beneficiaries. And this is a clear division of responsibility - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program 'Fakty po faktach' on TVN24. - However, the President's resignation was for other reasons. It was due to sluggish actions in other programs and numerous signals from entrepreneurs, which I also received in the presence of the President, indicating that her contacts with entrepreneurs within the HoReCa sector were definitely unsatisfactory. I did not publicize this resignation specifically in order to respect her image and avoid causing additional reputational damage to the person with whom I collaborated - she continued, when asked about the reasons for the PARP president's resignation. - The truth is in the documents. If there is no such letter, and there isn't, then that is the truth - Pełczyńska-Nałęcz summarized.
