"We Need to Re-explain Poland to Ourselves." Tusk in Pabianice on "Surprising Words and Meetings"
- The time has come to confess a bit about what has happened over these past dozen or so months since the elections. And secondly, everyone needs this, I also need this; we need to re-explain Poland to ourselves, the situation Poland finds itself in, and also explain the situation, the difficult moments, which are not always clear and which are also not easy to interpret. In fact, every day, and recently even every hour, brings some surprise or some event or surprising words, not to mention surprising meetings or visits to various places - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

12:15

Tusk:

Poland and Europe Must Be Prepared for Various Events in the Next 2 Years
- I expected precise information and I received it, namely that according to all assessments in NATO and the USA, Russia and China will be ready for global confrontation by 2027, in 2 years. And that the Americans are seriously preparing for a situation, not for war, there are no tragic forecasts here, but for a situation where both the American side and my guest, General Grynkewich, are convinced that our global adversaries, and for Poland, this specifically means Russia, will be ready for such a confrontation precisely in 2027 - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice. - To put it briefly and directly, Poland and Europe, but Poland first and foremost, must be prepared for various events in the next 2 years - he continued. - This shows [various Russian actions] that our adversaries, that Russia is preparing for this 2027. Today, as the Prime Minister of the Polish government, regardless of what topic currently dominates the media, what is being written about on Twitter, on portals, I am responsible for Poland's security in very specific dimensions. We must, at all costs, maintain what is both the engine of growth and the innovative policy, arming the Polish army, building Poland's strong position in the world - we must do all of this, while simultaneously remembering that we have 3 threats concerning this fundamental stabilization, in Poland and around Poland - he said.

12:21

Tusk:

We Will Shift the Main Flow of Money from Foreign Arms Purchases to Developing Polish Industry
- I hope that this will finally start to bring additional benefits, that we will shift the main flow of money from foreign purchases, when it comes to armaments, towards the development of Polish industry, and very often this will be a dual development. It will also serve civilian and scientific matters - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

12:26

Tusk:

The Russian Plan Is Simple
- The Russian plan is simple. It is not secret. In a situation where this year 2027 is approaching, and thus perhaps a test of strength between the West and the East, it is crucial for Russia that Europe be divided, Poland and other states bordering Russia also divided and isolated from the rest of the West – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

12:28

"It Must Cause the Utmost Concern for Every Patriot." Tusk on "Certain Statements by the President-Elect"
- If I hear activists of the extremely right-wing, for instance, on the Polish-German border, like Bąkiewicz and from Konfederacja, if I also hear the statements of some politicians, including those from the main opposition party, and even some statements by the president-elect, I hear a tone that causes absolute, it must cause the utmost concern for every patriot. There is no longer any room for a serious warning about the real threats from Russia - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

12:31

Tusk on a PiS Politician’s Statement:

I Don’t Know How Many Rubles It Took to Pay.
- Today I hear from opposition politicians or right-wing activists that the biggest problem is either Ukraine, or Germany, or the EU. Tusk, of course, here I am unmatched, I have gotten used to that. And in reality, from Moscow’s perspective, there is no better scenario than to have Poland divided and full of unrest and internal conflicts - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice. - Even one of the PiS MPs or MEPs there said: we will build a barrier on the border with Europe and with Germany, we will separate ourselves from the West under the pretext of migration, permanently. I don’t know how many rubles it took to pay to produce this type of text, propaganda - he continued.

12:34

"Enough of a Ghastly Race of Idiots or Traitors." Tusk on "Attempt to Create Constant Mess"
Sometimes I have the impression that I am watching, in the opposition benches, in the ranks of the opposition, but unfortunately also sometimes around or within the ruling coalition, such a ghastly race, I don't know, of idiots or traitors. Because one must have in their head, or how much one had to take into their pocket, to be in a situation where not Tusk, not the ruling party in Poland, but our greatest ally says: prepare yourselves, be well organized, be united, because a very difficult moment is coming, a serious moment of trial for all of us, and at this time we have this attempt to create constant mess – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

12:36

Tusk Makes a Solemn Promise in Pabianice:

I Will Not Be Provoked by Opponents or Friends.
- I am making a solemn promise here, to you and to all of Poland. For these two years that lie ahead of us, likely without elections – one never knows what awaits them, but I hope that we finally have two years without elections in Poland, and thus no main reason for constant political infighting – let's use these two years to the maximum for the sake of stabilizing the situation in Poland, on the borders, and for preparing Poland, building Poland's strength, its modernity in many dimensions, and I will not be provoked by opponents or friends – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

12:38

Tusk in Pabianice:

I Can't Count on Anyone Else Anymore, Only on You, the People.
"I can't count on anyone else anymore, only on you, the people. Without you, this will make no sense and stand no chance, because without you, I won't have the main source of strength that has allowed me to keep everything more or less in check so far," stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

12:41

Tusk:

The Problem Has Not Ended, and It Won't End for the Next Few Years. They Are Still Here
- Some people, after October 15th, thought the problem had disappeared, that victory, it was a close call then, on October 15th, all those who were fed up with PiS, the mess, the violation of the rule of law, suddenly, it happened, voters turned out in large numbers, it was a close call, but it happened, PiS was removed from power. Some assumed that this meant the problem had ended. I perhaps shouldn't say this, but too many misunderstandings are accumulating around what has been happening in Poland in recent months - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice. - I want to tell you that the problem has not ended, and it will not end for the next few years. They are still here. The system they created is still here. They constructed a closed circuit that requires colossal effort, sometimes risk, I've spoken about this openly too, sometimes you had to drive on the edge to rebuild at least fragments of a normal state - he continued.

12:47

Tusk:

In Recent Days and Hours, the Governing Coalition is Disturbingly Diverse in Opinions and Actions
- This is all the more so because, as you have noticed, especially in recent days, and even hours, the governing coalition is disturbingly diverse in opinions and actions. I will use very delicate words and terms today, and I will always clench my teeth when I feel like saying what I really think – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

12:52

Tusk:

You See Who I Have to Work With Daily. Okay, This is the Choice of Poles, I Will Continue Working
- You see who I have to work with on a daily basis. Okay, this is also the choice of Poles, and I will continue to work. And I will do everything, as I said, to serve Poland, and in the end, in 2027, not only to protect Poland from these real, true threats, but also to approach the next elections again with faith in 2027 - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

12:53

Tusk:

I Don't Know the Word 'Capitulation'. I Will Never Give Up
- I truly don't know the word 'capitulation', and thanks to you, I can tell you, I will never give up - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

13:04

Tusk:

This Was the Main Reason This Government Reshuffle Happened
- The reshuffle of my government was intended, among other things, to rein things in and tell everyone subordinate to me in the government: enough pampering, and the jokes are over. Whoever raises a hand against the Polish state, insults uniformed services, whoever reaches for power that does not belong to them, will be punished, stopped. And this was the main reason why this reshuffle happened – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

13:08

Tusk:

This is my final remark to my coalition partners
- This is my final remark to my coalition partners as well. Why was this general mobilization possible? It was possible after so many years of defeats, the victory on October 15th. And I reject one of the obvious arguments, that I helped. I deeply believe it mattered, but let's leave it at that. It's not that important. What was much more important was that all those who wanted change, precisely believed that the need for change for the sake of fundamental values is what unites us. And that there is nothing more important - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice. - And this is what actually explains, to this day, not always successfully, to my partners in the coalition. You often hear that the political conflict in Poland needs to end, that unnecessary polarization needs to stop. These are beautiful words, but at the end of the day, do you know what lurks behind these words? It is precisely capitulation before the evil that has, in fact, united us - he continued.

13:12

Tusk comments on Hołownia's words and warns of serious consequences:

It's a bit like with children on vacation.
-
If on the Left, among Szymon Hołownia, in the PSL, such a thought prevails that what united us is no longer important, that the problem is gone, we can meet and have dinner with them, everything is more or less the same, the parties are the same, and the values are similar, then sometimes, recently when I was traveling to you and I was wondering how to comment on these words about a coup d'état. Today there are many comments about Marshal Hołownia's words -
stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice. -
I'll tell you, it's a bit like with children on vacation. And quite serious, I'm not saying it's a child, so you understand me correctly. Only recently we have had examples of how frivolous behavior or frivolous words can have very serious consequences. When we send children on vacation, we tell them: don't do anything stupid, because stupid things can turn into a tragedy - he continued. - In politics, it's exactly the same. Words, some gestures, some careless decisions, even if people think: eh, it's frivolous, immature, just like that, but it sometimes has very serious consequences - emphasized the head of government.

13:15

Tusk:

There Can Be No Place for Traitors, Fools, or Unimaginative People in Politics
- I will ask everyone who still cares as much, or at least a little bit as much, as we did on October 15th, to pull themselves together and understand that politics is a serious game, for both external and internal reasons. And that there can be no place, or at least there must be as little place as possible, for these races of traitors, fools, or unimaginative people in politics. Because the stakes are too serious in our hands – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

13:19

Tusk:

Braun Will Soon Face His Moment of Justice
- Minister Bodnar, as he was leaving, felt this inner need because he had almost all the virtues and everyone respected him, but he didn't have the image of a tough guy, someone who grabs them by the neck. He didn't have that image, but he did a lot of work, and if you were to read his report on how many indictments, court cases, and stripped immunities there are, Braun will soon face his moment of justice too - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

13:22

Tusk:

We Must Stand Up and Fight Again
Convincing you is a bit harder than it is for Kaczyński to give orders to his people. So, let's also try to put on our armor and our shields and take up our swords, because from time to time democracy, and from time to time people with the most diverse views, generally not passionate about politics, must also stand up and fight. And we must stand up and fight again, because otherwise, those who are always ready to fight will win - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

13:38

Tusk:

There Won't Be a Poland Under My Premiership Where Police and Prosecutors Dictate Election Results
- Who is supposed to count these votes? No, my dear friends. Please, be serious. Do you really want to live in a country where the police count the votes and then announce the election results? People. No, there won't be such a Poland under my premiership, where the police and prosecution will say 'these elections are invalid, we will count the votes'. In a few years, will Ziobro be the Prosecutor General and he will count the votes? And will Święczkowski decide which ones are valid and which are invalid? - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

13:43

"Whatever You Come Up With, I’ll Still Convene the National Assembly and Swear in Nawrocki." Tusk on "Clear Information from Hołownia"
- What, am I supposed to appoint my own National Council [Supreme Court judges] off the cuff, from my colleagues? Yes, we live in such a reality, we have such a battered, such a devastated state by PiS. Today, Marshal Hołownia is saying something about a coup d'état. The first signs appeared that there might be irregularities, I received clear information from Marshal Hołownia: “Whatever you come up with, I’ll still convene the National Assembly and swear in President Nawrocki.” Actually, the discussion is over. I am not the Marshal of the Sejm, I do not convene the National Assembly – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

13:45

Tusk:

If Anyone Changes the Marshal of the Sejm, it Will Be PiS with Konfederacja, Unless We Stand Together with Poland 2050 and PSL
- If anyone changes the Marshal [of the Sejm], it will be PiS with Konfederacja, unless we stand together with Poland 2050 and PSL. You overestimate the proportions. We are not 70%. We all must, not just me, learn to navigate a reality where we are sometimes 51%, sometimes 49% - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

13:54

Tusk:

Sometimes When Our Politicians Open Their Mouths, I Think, 'Why Did I Ask Them to Go to the Media?'
- I will chase them all. You won't tell anyone, I'm joking a bit because there's a camera, but don't say too much about it. Sometimes when our politicians open their mouths, I think: "Why did I ask them to go to the media?" - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Pabianice.

14:25

Does he hope to fool Poles again? Or is he counting on our naivety? Kaczyński comments on Tusk's speech
Is this déjà vu? Today, dressed in white again, and yet he made a name for himself as a villain. More promises, conjuring reality, "solemn vows," all in a tone that divides society. We've heard this before – the methods have been the same for years. Does he hope to fool Poles again? Or is he counting on our naivety? What do you think? - Jarosław Kaczyński wrote on social media.

17:51

Morawiecki:

Public Debt to Exceed 60% This Year; Tusk's Government Adds Over 661 Million PLN Daily in 2025
"With a meager pace of revenue execution and an increasing scale of expenditure, the budget deficit will grow further, exposing us to a deterioration of debt conditions and a further distancing from the so-called Maastricht requirements and a safe level of public finances. The question is not if, but when we will exceed the 60% threshold of public finance sector debt in relation to GDP. Increasingly, indications suggest that such a risk will materialize this year" – writes former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. "In the period of January – June 2025, state budget revenues amounted to PLN 264.3 billion, which is approximately PLN 39.6 billion (i.e., 13.0%) lower compared to the same period last year. The budget deficit amounted to a substantial PLN 119.7 billion. This means that every day in 2025, the Tusk government has been indebting us by over PLN 661 million" – claims Morawiecki.

19:10

Hołownia:

I used the term "coup d'état" in "Gość Wydarzeń" not in a legal sense but as a political diagnosis, describing a situation of serious destabilization
I see there is a need, so I am explaining that I used the phrase "coup d'état" in yesterday's "Gość Wydarzeń," as I have many times before, not in a legal sense – which was clearly emphasized in the conversation – but as a political diagnosis, a description of a situation where there is serious destabilization of the state and undermining of democratic principles – writes Marshal Szymon Hołownia on Facebook. "Since the second round of presidential elections won by Karol Nawrocki, expectations have repeatedly been formulated towards me in the public space not to recognize the voters' verdict, not to convene the National Assembly for the inauguration of the president-elect, or to obstruct by announcing breaks during the Assembly, calls to unconstitutionally seize presidential powers, or finally – to order new elections" – Hołownia continues. "To all these suggestions, made public, I have responded unequivocally, and in accordance with the law: presidential elections are presumed valid, all cases of irregularities in the electoral process should be clarified through prosecutorial proceedings, there are no factual or legal grounds not to convene the National Assembly and not to administer the oath to the newly elected President of the Republic of Poland" – claims the Marshal of the Sejm in his post. "The stability of state institutions, the continuity of power, and command over the Armed Forces are values that – especially in the current situation – must not be undermined, and I firmly oppose, and will continue to oppose, any attempts to question them, and thus destabilize the state, just like all leaders of the 15.X Coalition are unanimous on this matter. It has been almost two months since the presidential elections. I appeal to both sides of the political dispute, on the one hand, not to look for conspiracies where there are none, and on the other – not to undermine the democratic verdict of the voters, regardless of the emotions it evokes." – concludes Marshal Hołownia.
