Nawrocki to Present Identification Notes to Victims of Totalitarian Systems At 11:00 AM in the Belvedere, a ceremony will be held to present identification notes to families of victims who died as a result of communist terror and German crimes. The names of 18 individuals whose remains have been found and identified within the scope of activities carried out by the Institute of National Remembrance will be announced. The ceremony will be attended by the families of the identified victims, the President-elect, President of the IPN Karol Nawrocki and his deputies Krzysztof Szwagrzyk, Karol Polejowski, as well as representatives of state authorities and institutions. During the ceremony, the names of 18 victims whose remains were found during the work of the IPN's Bureau of Search and Identification, conducted in locations including Krakow, Wroclaw, Katowice, and Lublin, will be announced. The names of victims murdered in northern Mazovia, whose remains were found in 2024, will also be announced. Among those identified is one person whose remains were found in the Powązki Military Cemetery in Warsaw, on the so-called "Łączka" (Little Meadow). Sejm to Discuss Budget Execution, KRS Activities, Impeachment of Świrski before the Tribunal of State, and Motion Regarding Ziobro The third day of the Sejm's session will begin at 9:00 AM. Members of parliament will then consider the report on the execution of the state budget for 2024, along with the Supreme Audit Office's analysis of budget execution and monetary policy assumptions for 2024, and the committee's draft resolution on granting discharge. Concurrently, the Sejm will review the National Bank of Poland's activity report for 2024 and the Prime Minister's information on guarantees and surety bonds granted in 2024 by the State Treasury, certain legal entities, and BGK. The debate on these three points will last until 1:00 PM. At 1:30 PM, members of parliament will hear the report of the Constitutional Accountability Committee on its work regarding the preliminary motion to bring the head of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), Maciej Świrski, before the Tribunal of State. At 3:15 PM, the second reading of the government's deregulation bill will commence, introducing the possibility of bilateral electronic communication in civil court proceedings, which – according to the initiators – "will contribute to accelerating document circulation, reducing costs, and increasing access to justice." At 4:00 PM, the second reading of another government deregulation bill is scheduled, which also implements EU law. It concerns increasing the scale of online applications in the public sphere, economy, and society. At 5:00 PM, MPs will proceed to the second reading of a further government deregulation bill implementing EU law – this time concerning plant protection products. At 6:00 PM, the second reading of the last government deregulation bill for today will take place, also implementing EU law. This concerns drug reimbursement. At 7:00 PM, the second reading of a parliamentary bill amending the Energy Law, authored by Civic Platform MPs, will begin. At 8:00 PM, the Sejm will hear information on the activities of the National Council of the Judiciary in 2024, along with the report of the Justice and Human Rights Committee. At 9:30 PM, the first reading of amendments to the Act on Assistance to Ukrainian Citizens is scheduled. This extends the period until March 4, 2026, during which the stay of Ukrainians who arrived in Poland due to the war is considered legal. At 10:30 PM, MPs will consider four jointly deliberated draft resolutions concerning the EU-Mercosur agreement: two authored by PiS MPs, one by Confederation MPs, and a draft submitted by the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development. Subsequently, at 12:30 AM, the Sejm will hear the committee's report regarding the Pegasus inquiry committee's motion to grant consent for the detention and forceful summoning of Zbigniew Ziobro to its session. EU Commissioner in the Sejm EU Commissioner for Budget, Piotr Serafin, is visiting Poland. At 1:00 PM, he will participate in a meeting of the Sejm's European Union Affairs Committee, where he will present information on the EU budget for 2028-2034.

Trump Writes About Nawrocki:

He Won Because He Truly Loves Poles.
- A magnificent victory for Karol Nawrocki in Poland. He will be a great president! He won because he truly loves Poles - wrote US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform.

08:20

Will Nawrocki Seek to Overthrow the Government? Szefernaker: Tusk Himself Aims to Overthrow His Own Government
- Donald Tusk himself is aiming to overthrow his own government - said Paweł Szefernaker on "Gość Radia ZET," when asked by Beata Lubecka whether Karol Nawrocki would seek to overthrow Donald Tusk's government. - Karol Nawrocki will be a demanding president towards the government. And if the government does not meet expectations, including in cooperation with the president, then it will not have a chance for cooperation, and then it will bring about its own downfall - he stated. - Everything is in the hands of the government, which for the past year and a half has so far not proven that it wants to govern well for Poland. On the contrary, it is the worst government in history - he added.

08:29

Szefernaker:

We Are Preparing Nawrocki's Calendar. It Will Be a Very Active and Demanding Presidency Towards the Government
- Nawrocki, as president-elect, met with Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, with Marshal Szymon Hołownia, with the leader of the Razem party, Adrian Zandberg, and with Sławomir Mentzen, the leader of Konfederacja - said Paweł Szefernaker on "Gość Radia ZET". - I am giving you examples of politicians from various political backgrounds with whom Karol Nawrocki is meeting as president-elect. He also met with the head of NATO in Brussels - he continued. - He is very active in the time leading up to his inauguration and will also be an active president - I am sure of that, because we are preparing the president's calendar for the first weeks and it will be a very active presidency, demanding towards the government - he announced.

08:35

What About the Deputy Ministers at the Ministry of Education and Science? Nowacka: I Don't Foresee Major Changes
- My team has already been built, and frankly, I don't foresee major changes. It's also a question for our coalition partners, but my closest collaborator, my deputy, is Minister Katarzyna Lubnauer – said Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Renata Grochal on the program "Bez uników" on Trójka, when asked if she would be able to choose her own deputy ministers, rather than them being imposed by coalition partners.

08:39

Nowacka on the Justice Minister Change:

I Think We All Need Stronger Accountability.
- I highly valued Adam Bodnar [...] however, I think we all feel the need for accountability to be pursued more vigorously, and that's a bit of the new energy. This isn't a criticism of Adam Bodnar, but rather a perspective that at some point certain processes need to be shaken up, and a change here can indeed be that acceleration – said Barbara Nowacka on Trójka.

08:41

Szefernaker on Nawrocki’s first laws:

They are already written or in the final stages of work.
- Immediately after being sworn in, the President will implement what he spoke about during the election campaign. He will strongly focus on presenting draft laws to the public. He mentioned in the election campaign that the [first] would be the CPK law. We will present subsequent laws right after the inauguration, in the following weeks - said Paweł Szefernaker in “Gość Radia ZET”. - The laws that will be presented in the first days and weeks are already written, or final work on the drafts is currently underway - he indicated.

08:47

Nawrocki-Tusk Meeting? Szefernaker: If There's Will on Both Sides
- If there's will on both sides - said Paweł Szefernaker in "Gość Radia ZET," when asked about a meeting between Karol Nawrocki and Donald Tusk. - Because before the President met with Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, or with other politicians, there was previously expressed will from the other side as well - he continued.

08:51

Grochal on Bodnar: Frankly, a Soft Man. Nowacka: He Did His Job Well. Grochal: So Well They Reconstructed Him.
- Shouldn't the order be reversed, first Żurek, who cleans up the judiciary, for example, the prosecutor's office, law enforcement agencies of Ziobro's people [...] and then the person who comes with laws, i.e. Adam Bodnar, frankly, a soft man, more conciliatory - said Renata Grochal, while interviewing Barbara Nowacka on Trójka. - I wouldn't say that, because these processes were ongoing, but Adam Bodnar did his job well - replied the Minister of Education. - So well that they reconstructed him - retorted the host. - I don't think this is a matter of evaluating the work of individual ministers, but rather the need for new energy - said Nowacka.

08:57

Nowacka:

I Won't Embrace the Thesis of the Prime Minister's Obsolescence. Tusk is the Only Person Holding the Coalition Together
- I wouldn't speak about the Prime Minister in terms of him becoming obsolete at all. [...] I won't embrace the thesis of the Prime Minister's obsolescence at all, but we know that we need a new impetus. The Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, is the only person holding the coalition together, and this is very clearly visible today – said Barbara Nowacka on Trójka, when asked if the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Radosław Sikorski signals that he will be Donald Tusk's successor, should the latter ultimately become obsolete.

09:04

Nowacka:

During the Swearing-in Ceremony, the Prime Minister Will Elaborate on the Direction We Will Take
- Today at 3:30 PM there will be the swearing-in ceremony of new ministers, and during this ceremony, the Prime Minister will also say more about the direction we will be heading in. He stated the slogans yesterday at the beginning, because in reality, he also wanted to welcome the new people, but what will be most important is order – legal order, order in the state, order at the border, order in the functioning of public institutions. That is security [...] and that is the future – said Barbara Nowacka on Trójka.

09:10

Szefernaker on Nawrocki's Visit to the USA:

It Will Definitely Be a Priority Regarding International Matters.
- After August 6th, we will provide information. It will definitely be a priority regarding international matters - said Paweł Szefernaker on "Gość Radia ZET", when asked about Karol Nawrocki's visit to the USA.

09:17

US President Very Positive About Nawrocki. Nowacka: Trump is Known for Catchy, but Not Always Truthful Slogans
- I think that politics today is based on quite a lot of misinformation, fake news, simple slogans. Donald Trump, by the way, is known for perhaps catchy slogans, but not always connected to the truth - said Barbara Nowacka on Trójka, when asked about Donald Trump's post about Karol Nawrocki and his sharing of recordings from a demonstration against migration.

- I think that taking away patriotism from half of the society, and this is what PiS politicians are doing, and it's visible that they are also spinning this for Donald Trump, is not a good action and is not an action that leads towards building a strong community - she continued.

09:24

Nowacka:

If Żurek Deems It Possible, He Will Likely Pursue Duda's Accountability for His Presidential Tenure
- Listening to Andrzej Duda, it's clear his ambitions are boundless, somewhat detached from reality [...] Andrzej Duda imagines himself as capable of anything; in his opinion, he could be Speaker of the Sejm, Prime Minister, and an excellent minister for something – that's the self-image he has - stated Barbara Nowacka on Trójka. - I think [Waldemar Żurek] will want to bring about full settlements, and if he deems it possible, he will certainly strive to hold Andrzej Duda accountable for how he functioned as president - she continued, when asked if Andrzej Duda could face a State Tribunal.

09:25

Szefernaker on the reshuffle:

There was a bad government, now there's an even worse one.
- I am convinced that this government, above all, does not help itself. […] This government does not help itself, and therefore, I think, speaking completely seriously, this is a joke, not a reshuffle, and it won't help anything. There was a bad government, now there's an even worse one - said Paweł Szefernaker in "Gość Radia ZET". As he stated: - Honestly, I am devastated by this reshuffle. Because we have a wonderful time that we should use for Poland's development, and meanwhile, this government is wasting this time. There is no program, there is nothing that ideologically unites these people, when it comes to the coalition of December 13th.

09:35

Szefernaker:

I'm Surprised Coalition Partners Continue to Drive Towards a Wall with PO. It's Their Choice, Poles Will Hold Them Accountable
- The government lost the elections because it was driving towards a wall for the last year and a half, and now it will drive towards it even more. From a political standpoint, as a PiS MP, someone who very negatively assesses this government, I should be pleased, but this is not good for Poland - said Paweł Szefernaker in „Gość Radia ZET”. - It's truly a pathetic reconstruction. There's no hope here, not even among those who have entered the government. […] I even have the impression that some of them are not fully aware of what they are getting themselves into - he stated. - I am surprised that coalition partners continue to drive towards a wall with PO. This is their choice, their political decision. Poles will hold them accountable for it - he added.

10:02

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on Government Work After Reconstruction:

We Must Clearly Set Goals We Want to Achieve.
- Personnel changes are, of course, important because specific people are responsible for actions, but from the very beginning, we as Poland 2050 have been saying, and I have also been saying, that goals are crucial. We must clearly set goals that we want to achieve - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program "Graffiti" on Polsat News, when asked about the government reconstruction. - I have heard about these goals, such as the great values we set for ourselves. And it's hard to disagree with these values, such as security or the future. I have also heard that there is a will to place a large and serious emphasis on development and economic issues. And this is ideologically very close to me. I believe that Poland's strength, Poland's future today, lies in setting up development and economic policy completely anew, according to new realities and new challenges - she continued.

10:11

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

Public Media Must Become Truly Public. We Are Ready to Discuss the Bill with the President
- Nobody sent us such a signal. What's more, I haven't heard anyone in the public sphere come out and say: 'no changes in TVP, let it be as it is'. On the contrary. As a coalition, and this is written in the coalition agreement, we campaigned with a clear commitment, and we as Poland 2050 fully stand by this commitment, that public media must become truly public, modern, and attractive – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program 'Graffiti' on Polsat News, when asked about Poland 2050's plans regarding the reform of public media. - There is a bill, which we assess very positively, that has already entered government work; some further coordination was needed at the level of the Minister of Finance, and this bill must enter government work and be processed – she continued. - It needs to enter government work as soon as possible. Some time is needed for its processing, because it is a serious bill, but I think, [...] that at the beginning of next year, I think it should be in the Sejm – she went on to say. - From our side, as Poland 2050, there is full readiness to slightly improve this bill, process it through the government, parliament, and discuss it with the president – she indicated.

10:12

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the Future of Poland 2050:

Clear Identity and Programme Clarification.
- It’s not about what we consider to be the essence [of changing the party's name, etc.]. The essence is a very clear clarification of identity and programme, as well as drawing conclusions from everything that has happened to the government, the coalition, and ourselves during a year and a half of governing – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program “Graffiti” on Polsat News, when asked about Szymon Hołownia’s announcements regarding “new Poland 2050”. - This is the first year and a half of real responsibility for a new formation, which is Poland 2050. We have managed to do a lot, but also many things, I will honestly say, could have been done better. We have a plan, we will talk about it, we are talking about it all the time, we will talk about it even more clearly, and above all, we will implement it – she continued.

10:15

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

We Need to Define 10 Things We Want to Achieve Within a Specific Timeframe and Communicate Them to the Public
- I am responsible for the ministry, and Polska 2050 is responsible for a part of this government. Of course, we will do everything possible to positively and constructively contribute to ensuring that there is good energy and hope surrounding the entire government. I am thinking about how to achieve this - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program "Graffiti" on Polsat News, when asked about polls indicating that 60% of respondents do not believe that the reconstruction will help the government. - There are two things here. Firstly, very clear communication of forward-looking plans. This is important for people, for them to understand the path we are taking and where we are heading. This is information policy, but also a clear understanding of what the future plans are. And I think this is the next step. The appointment of Minister Berko as the person who will horizontally implement and oversee the government's programs is a very fitting and good nomination - she continued. She assessed: - A crucial step for this to make sense, in my opinion, is to sit down and define these 10 things we want to achieve within a specific timeframe and communicate them to the people.

13:56

Duda to Police Officers: Thank You for the Great Honor of Serving the Republic Together for the Last 10 Years
- I bow my head to all officers and female officers of our police, to all civil service employees and civilian employees of the police. I thank you immensely for this service – said President Andrzej Duda during the Central Celebrations of Police Day. - Thank you for the great honor of being able to serve the Republic together with you for the last 10 years – he continued.

14:01

A Very Successful Meeting. Three Main Topics Discussed." Nawrocki after Conversation with Hołownia
President-elect Karol Nawrocki arrived at the Sejm, where he met with the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia. After the meeting, Nawrocki spoke to the media. - We discussed, of course, August 6th, the inauguration, what will happen on August 6th, when I officially become the President of the Republic of Poland - said the president-elect. - It also concerned my legislative initiatives. As you know, it will be an active presidency after August 6th, so legislative initiatives will be sent to Mr. Marshal, to the Polish Sejm - he continued. - The discussion also concerned something that greatly interests me, namely the new media law, with which - I hope - I will be able to cooperate with Mr. Marshal, with the entire Polish parliament, as President of Poland, around the new media law - Nawrocki continued. - These were the three main topics of our very successful meeting with Mr. Marshal - he summarized.

14:08

Nawrocki Announces Legislative Initiatives:

A Multi-Month Cycle of Concrete Proposals.
- There will be time for me to speak about concrete proposals regarding legislative initiatives. It will not come as a surprise to you that these will be laws – as I said during the election campaign – I am trying to implement, and I will continue to implement, my election campaign program - said President-elect Karol Nawrocki in an interview with journalists after a meeting with Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia. - It will be a law concerning the CPK. In the first month, I will also deal with agricultural proposals. I believe that it will also be possible to concretely prepare tax solutions, and thus I will begin the implementation of the tax contract - he continued. As he announced: - You will not be surprised [...] because I will consistently implement the "Plan 21 for Poland", which received 10.5 million votes in the elections. - Already in August, I will come forward with legislative initiatives, but it will be a certain multi-month cycle of concrete proposals - he added.

14:14

Nawrocki Asked if He Fears for His Swearing-In Amidst Justice Minister Change:

I Only Fear God.
- I am consistent, Mr. Editor. As I said during the election campaign, I only fear God - said President-elect Karol Nawrocki in a conversation with journalists, when asked if he feared for his swearing-in on August 6th due to the change of the Minister of Justice.

14:19

Nawrocki:

I'm Not Rushing to Meet with Tusk. I Consistently Consider Him the Worst Prime Minister Since 1989.
- I think such a meeting with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, with whom we have already met at the National Security Council, will be necessary. So, of course, I do not rule out such a meeting - said President-elect Karol Nawrocki in a conversation with journalists after a meeting with Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia. - Although you should not be surprised either that I am not in any hurry to meet with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, whom I consistently consider the worst prime minister since 1989 - he emphasized. - But Poles expect the president and the prime minister to talk and cooperate on matters that are important for our national community - he added.

14:42

Żurek Makes Decision Regarding Judge Status
- The National Council of the Judiciary has received information from Adam Bodnar regarding Waldemar Żurek's resignation from the office of judge, effective at the end of July 24, 2025. The letter is dated today and time-stamped at 9:00 AM - informed the head of the KRS, Dagmara Pawełczyk-Woicka, on the X portal.

15:22

Tusk:

We have a plan for the European Space Agency to decide to build its center in Poland
- I am glad that we have the opportunity, with the participation of the President of the Polish Space Agency - today, but also in the near future - to talk about how Poland can "cash in" on Mr. Sławosz's great success and the grand spectacle that was our space flight with Polish participation. I am not talking about finances, because we are rather ready to spend a lot of money so that Poland gains as much as possible - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a joint press conference with Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski. - I am very glad that you also have exactly the same approach. That you are thinking about your success becoming a national success. Not only in the symbolic dimension, which is very important, because everyone is proud of you, […] but we all know well that it can be used so that Poland benefits maximally from it - he continued. - Mr. Sławosz has decided to be a missionary for this cause, meaning he will certainly be extremely helpful in promoting Poland's space ambitions. We are talking not only about the issue of manned flights […] but also about how to use Poland's strong position and your authority, our long-standing efforts to increase Poland's defense capabilities - he continued. - We have ambitions to build a National Satellite Operations System. The state must be significantly more active here. […] This idea is also connected with our plan for the European Space Agency to decide to build its center in Poland. […] The Minister of Economy and Finance will be able to debut in his new role as a powerful minister for economy and finance, also to support this idea - he indicated.

16:11

Duda Thanks Ministers:

For Your Work for the Republic Thus Far.
- First and foremost, I thank all of you who have been fulfilling your duties until now. Some of you are leaving the government for other tasks, some are remaining in it. For all of you, for your work for the Republic thus far, I thank you - said President Andrzej Duda during the ceremony of changes in the composition of the Council of Ministers.

16:20

Duda:

I'm glad the speculation is over and Poland has a stable government again
- I think that today, the most fundamentally important issue for our compatriots is security. And in that very strictly understood sense of the word, physical security, not broadly understood. It's physical security, so that Poland is stable, so that Poland is governed, so that there is order in Poland - said President Andrzej Duda during the ceremony of changes in the composition of the Council of Ministers. - I have no doubt that the Prime Minister knows this perfectly well, I can assure you that I also know and understand this, which is why literally within three days with the Prime Minister, once the Prime Minister had made decisions regarding the staffing of individual government positions, this ceremony is taking place - he continued. - I am glad that we can finalize this, that we can implement these changes, and that at this moment all speculation ends and Poland once again has a stable, clearly defined government that will continue to carry out its tasks - he went on to say. - I think this is a fundamental task today in the understanding of all our compatriots, so that it is known who governs, who bears responsibility, who holds state affairs in their hands - he added.

16:22

Political Retributions Interest People Far Less Than Living Safely and Comfortably." Duda Addresses Ministers
- As I present you with these nominations, thank you for your work so far, and wish you success in fulfilling the missions you have undertaken, I want to say one thing: I believe that beyond, as I mentioned a moment ago, the fundamental matter of security, the security of the Republic, that hard security [...] it is also extremely important to have this security, understood more broadly, meaning this life security – said President Andrzej Duda during the ceremony of changes in the Council of Ministers. - People, in addition to physical security, probably expect this most, simply that they will have a comfortable, reasonably good, and peaceful life. Peaceful also in terms of whether it will be a prosperous life, whether there will be work, whether they will have to consider leaving the country again [...] these are the fundamentally important issues, I think, for everyone, and this is what people think about primarily – he continued. - Please, while holding your offices, keep in mind that this is precisely the ordinary, simple, human assessment. I think that in essence, most of our compatriots do not concern themselves with political matters daily, they do not listen very carefully to politicians' statements, their disputes, discussions, their rhetorical clashes. They primarily look at how they are living – he went on to say. - This is precisely the everyday reality, I think, based on which our compatriots most judge us later when they go to the polls, and this is what we are held accountable for. And as the outgoing President of the Republic, I ask that you remember this. Disputes, clashes, some political retributions, I think, interest people far less than whether they live safely, whether they live comfortably, and whether they are affected by these basic, most serious worries – he added.

16:24

Tusk’s Eloquent Thanks to Bodnar:

These words gain special significance in the President’s presence.
- I am very moved, I have actually been waiting for this moment for many hours, to be able to thank, right here, at your seat, those ministers who have carried out an extremely difficult mission in recent months - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the ceremony of changes in the composition of the Council of Ministers. - I wanted to thank Minister Adam Bodnar very sincerely. He took on the heaviest, most difficult challenge. These words gain special significance precisely in this place and in the presence of Mr. President - he indicated. - Restoring the rule of law, the foundations of the state of law, is a task that still lies before us, but the effort, energy, goodwill, and at the same time delicacy, respect for the Constitution, was what Minister Adam Bodnar impressed, I think, everyone without exception with - he continued. - Despite the grim legacy he inherited from his predecessor, he accomplished truly gigantic work, and for that I wanted to thank him. It was, Mr. Minister, a true honor for me to be able to work for the Republic in one team - the head of government concluded.

16:39

Tusk Thanks Leszczyna:

Thanks to the In Vitro Program, We Have Thousands of Born Children, Thousands of Happy Polish Families.
- I also wanted to very warmly thank Minister Izabela Leszczyna. The President spoke about the need for security, human security, at the level of every Polish family. If we have today a thousand Polish families where children have been born… 2.5 [thousand] already, that's the dynamic… - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the ceremony marking changes in the Council of Ministers.

- Thanks to the direct involvement of the minister, thanks to the in vitro procedure, questioned by many, we have and will have thousands of born children, thousands of happy Polish families - he continued.

- Nothing can be more impressive than the minister's work, which yields such results – the lives of new people - he added.

16:46

Tusk:

Thanks to Paszyk's patience and consistency, the deregulation process has gained momentum. We will definitely continue to cooperate.
- I would like to thank Minister Krzysztof Paszyk very much. It was not a long mission, but thanks to your patience and consistency, and openness to new ideas, the deregulation process, meaning a Poland free from excessive regulations, [...] immediately, from the very beginning, gained such momentum. We will definitely continue to cooperate - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the ceremony of changes in the Council of Ministers.

16:57

Tusk:

The Fight for the Rule of Law is Also a Fight for a Better Life for Poles
- This fight that has been ongoing for years in Poland: for the rule of law, for genuine democratic rules, for Poland's strong position in Europe, is also precisely a fight for the daily lives and a better life for Poles - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the ceremony of changes in the composition of the Council of Ministers. - Without rebuilding full trust of citizens in the state, in the justice system, in politicians as guardians of the Constitution, without this, there will also be no sense of security - he added.

17:09

Siemoniak Symbolically Hands Over the Department to Kierwiński:

One of the Toughest Ministries.
- I am very pleased that we have come here directly from the Presidential Palace. As the outgoing Minister of the Interior and Administration, I can welcome Minister Marcin Kierwiński. Life has it that a year ago we stood here in the opposite configuration. I am very glad that Minister Marcin Kierwiński has decided to accept this mission - said Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference. - I have the honor of being the Minister Coordinator of Special Services for the past few dozen minutes, again in such a role, focusing only on that. Therefore, our close cooperation, close relations, and shared topics will be an everyday occurrence. We will certainly be frequent guests at each other's offices, working for the country - he continued. - With great satisfaction and peace of mind, I am handing over matters in good condition into the best possible hands of Minister Marcin Kierwiński. Dear Marcin, I wish you good luck. This is certainly one of the toughest ministries, one of the most difficult missions, so I wish you much strength, much health, and much determination - he went on to say.

17:21

Kierwiński:

I'm Returning to Where I Left Off a Year Ago. To a Ministry in Better Shape.
- I'm returning to where I left off a year ago. I'm returning to a ministry that is in better shape, because it had a great minister, because I see how much has changed, because I see how excellently Minister Tomasz Siemoniak ran this ministry. We started some projects together, but I know that a lot of energy, determination, and such effectiveness were needed to bring this ministry to this good point - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference. - Mr. Minister, dear Tomasz [...] truly, the highest words of praise for what you have done, because thanks to your hard work, Poles can feel safe, our borders are secure, our eastern border has 98% impenetrability, these are coefficients not seen in the modern world, and this is the hard work of Minister Tomasz Siemoniak and his team - he continued.

19:20

Żurek:

On My First Day in Office, I Wanted to Pay Tribute to the Heroes Who Fought Against Authoritarianism
- On this first day of my term, I wanted to pay tribute to the heroes, the heroes who fought against authoritarianism. I would like to encourage everyone who sees this laying of flowers to read the inscription on the plaque located on the Ministry of Justice building – Waldemar Żurek said in a statement to the media. - We must remember these heroes, because it was precisely these figures, who were tortured in the basements of this building, who gave their lives for Poland's freedom, they were our heroes. People who fought against authoritarianism, first German, fascist, Nazi, and later Stalinist – he continued.

19:24

Żurek:

I Will Do Everything to Restore the Rule of Law and the Principle of Separation of Powers
- Because I perceive that the danger of losing democracy is something truly serious, I will do everything to restore the rule of law, to restore the principles of the separation of powers, and at the same time to adhere to the Constitution and all international treaties that bind Poland - stated Waldemar Żurek in a statement to the media. - I do not want to talk about intentions today, because by their deeds you will know them. I would prefer to meet with you and inform you about the specific decisions made by the Minister of Justice - he continued.

"I Will React with Full Resolve." Żurek's Warning to Politicians "Threatening Judges and Prosecutors"
- I would like to warn those politicians who, in their various statements, threaten independent judges, threaten independent prosecutors, and try to intimidate them. Today, we do not have a National Council of the Judiciary that would offer constitutional protection to such individuals, which is why I will react to such situations with full resolve - Waldemar Żurek stated in a media announcement. - I appeal to those who attempt to issue such threats; they will not be overlooked - he continued.

Many Institutions in Poland Have Been Destroyed. It is Very Important for Me to Restore Them

Domański:

We are fulfilling all electoral promises step by step. The tax-free allowance will also be implemented
- We are fulfilling all our promises and electoral pledges step by step. I will just remind you: a 30% pay rise for teachers – fulfilled, a 20% pay rise for the public sector – fulfilled, the grandparent benefit, which PiS said would not be introduced – introduced – said Andrzej Domański in an interview with Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz on TVP Info's "Question of the Day". - We will fulfill all our electoral commitments step by step. Of course, the tax-free allowance is also a commitment that will be fulfilled by our government – he declared.

Domański on Nawrocki's Announcement Regarding the Tax-Free Amount:

We Will See What Funding Sources It Indicates.
- When President Nawrocki puts this bill [on raising the tax-free amount to PLN 60,000] on the table, we will see how it is written. We will see what funding sources have been presented in it - said Andrzej Domański in "Pytanie dnia" on TVP Info. - This is, of course, a fairy tale [closing the VAT gap]. We know that this is not a real source of financing. Because our government, in the first year of its operation, already closed the VAT gap, which in 2023, under PiS rule, was over 13%, and we reduced it to below 7%. So there is simply little room for further closing the so-called VAT gap - he noted. - We will, of course, continue to work hard to combat all pathologies and criminals, and VAT carousels. But let's be serious - these will not be amounts that would allow for the financing of the tax-free amount - he stated.

Domański:

The Increased Personal Allowance Won't Fit in the 2026 Budget
- We are currently working on the budget for 2026. I think that in this 2026 budget, the personal allowance of PLN 60,000 will not fit - said Andrzej Domański in TVP Info's 'Question of the Day'. - However, as I have said before, we are working in the Ministry of Finance to fulfill this promise. We will be working on [fulfilling it in 2027] - he declared.

20:35

Domański Announces Changes:

The Belka Tax Will Be Limited.
- It will not be abolished [the Belka tax], it will be limited. A solution will be introduced which – in line with what we have said before – will ensure that savings and investments up to 100,000 PLN will not be subject to the Belka tax. However, we will provide the details of this solution in the coming days – said Andrzej Domański in TVP Info’s “Question of the Day”.

Domański:

Housing Will Be in My Ministry
- Yes, housing will be in the ministry [of finance and economy]. [...] I spoke briefly with Deputy Minister Lewandowski today, we will also talk tomorrow and on Monday, of course. I can confirm with full certainty that housing will be part of this new economic center of the government - said Andrzej Domański in TVP Info's "Question of the Day". - We will support both social housing construction and housing aimed at ownership. [...] We are also planning larger funds in next year's budget. So, we will implement many policies that will serve the challenge of ensuring greater availability of housing in Poland - he continued. - I hope we will reach an agreement. We know that our coalition is formed by parties that have slightly, but I emphasize: slightly different approaches to housing policy. And I think together we will find an agreement here - he stated.
