“He [Jarosław Kaczyński] flanked himself with President Andrzej Duda, and frankly, it was a huge disappointment, because in recent weeks and months, a difference was visible between President Andrzej Duda and Mr. Nawrocki and the party leader. But President Andrzej Duda still gave in, when he was ordered to appear at a party event and shed those pretenses of independence again, he did it. And he stood on one side [of Jarosław Kaczyński], Nawrocki stood on the other side,” Rafał Trzaskowski said in Toruń.

“This is exactly the picture that you should all remember, because that’s what these elections are about. Will we have a party president, will we have Kaczyński’s decision representing us, or will we have an independent president who will represent you, Polish women and men,” he continued.
