Second Day of Sejm Debates

The Sejm will resume its proceedings at 9:00 AM with a series of topical questions, and at 11:15 AM, it will proceed to consider the committee's report on the motion to lift Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski's parliamentary immunity.

At 11:30 AM, a one-hour voting block will commence, during which MPs will decide on the motion to reject the amendment to the Labour Code in its first reading. The bill, submitted by Civic Coalition (KO) and known as "Clear Earnings," mandates employers to disclose salary amounts in job advertisements.

At 12:30 PM, the Sejm will hear – at the request of Law and Justice (PiS) – a current information update regarding the content of the budgetary and structural plan adopted by the Council of the European Union on January 21, 2025. At 2:15 PM, the first reading will begin of a PiS bill proposing the penalization of the so-called "Volhynian lie," similar to the existing legislation concerning the "Auschwitz lie."

The final substantive item on the agenda will start at 3:45 PM – the lower house will then consider a Confederation bill proposing to raise the tax-free allowance for everyone to no less than PLN 60,000.

Nawrocki and Mentzen on the Campaign Trail, Hołownia on Electoral Program

Presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki, supported by PiS, will visit the Masovian Voivodeship. A meeting with supporters is scheduled for 1:30 PM in Przasnysz. Further meetings will take place: at 4:00 PM in Mława and at 6:30 PM in Sierpc.

At 2:15 PM, presidential candidate Szymon Hołownia will hold a press conference at the Hala Mirowska in Warsaw dedicated to his electoral program.

Confederation presidential candidate Sławomir Mentzen will hold meetings: at 3:00 PM in Nidzica, at 4:00 PM in Działdowo, at 6:00 PM in Żuromin, and at 8:00 PM in Mława.

Ceremony for Presidential Signature of Legislation

A ceremonial signing of the act establishing the National Day of Remembrance of Home Army Soldiers by President Andrzej Duda is planned for 12:00 PM at the Presidential Palace. The Head of State's address is also scheduled.

Minister of National Defence with Athletes

At 9:30 AM, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Deputy Minister of Defence Stanisław Wziątek will bid farewell to the Polish sports delegation departing for Canada for the INVICTUS GAMES 2025. An address by the Minister of National Defence is planned.

PiS Press Conferences

PiS has scheduled a series of press conferences: at 9:00 AM with the participation of Marcin Przydacz, Zbigniew Bogucki, and Marcin Warchoł; at 9:30 AM with the participation of Łukasz Kmita, Ewa Leniart, Władysław Dajczak, and Zbigniew Bogucki; and at 10:00 AM again with the participation of Marcin Warchoł and Zbigniew Bogucki. At the next conference, at 10:30 AM, Michał Cieślak, Sebastian Łukaszewicz, and Mariusz Kałużny will speak. Meanwhile, at 11:00 AM, the following will take the floor: Katarzyna Sójka, Janusz Cieszyński, Anna Gembicka, Krzysztof Lipiec, Józefa Szczurek-Żelazko, Łukasz Kmita, Kazimierz Gołojuch, Fryderyk Kapinos, and Tadeusz Chrzan.

– I believe we will be able to conduct a profound constitutional reset also regarding the Tribunal [Constitutional Tribunal] with the participation of the [new] president and the parliamentary majority – said Cezary Tomczyk on "Poranek TOK FM".

– We don't need a constitutional majority […] those terms that started years ago under the PiS government are either expiring or will soon expire. […] 2015 is the beginning of changes in the Constitutional Tribunal under the PiS government […] that's when these stories began. And the fact that one or another member of the Constitutional Tribunal might have been elected under the PiS government is not a problem. What matters is that the member was legally elected. However, it is certainly not the case that the rules of the tribunal's functioning cannot be changed, because PiS did that by an act of parliament, regarding issues such as the term limits of the President of the Constitutional Tribunal – he continued.

– The president plus the parliamentary majority is a moment where, in fact, within 6, 7 months, the most pressing problems concerning the rule of law in Poland can be resolved – he went on to say.

– Systematically, once a quarter, I get this question [regarding a potential resignation]. We are doing our job, I am a person hired to work, to perform specific tasks, to get the energy sector back on its feet, because one could say that we found it facing many important strategic decisions. We need to supplement those missing decisions on how we are transforming Polish energy – stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVP Info.

– We are doing our job. When the leaders decide that they are reshaping the government, I will return to parliament and serve the citizens there, because I was also called to that by the citizens. We are looking ahead to the tasks we have to accomplish. If the coalition leaders decide to reduce the government, because that's what's being discussed, then I basically understand why such decisions will be made – stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVP Info.

– PiS knows today that the settlements are proceeding at full speed. You can see that, by the way. Of course, they are very scared, but let's remember that they are not defending any achievements today, because there aren't really any. They are defending themselves – said Cezary Tomczyk on TOK FM.

– This Nawrocki, who is supposed to be their way forward today, is a man who already has a list [of people] for pardons and is going to the Presidential Palace solely for that purpose. He is supposed to become president so that PiS has the opportunity to retain power – he continued.

– Today, Polish energy, and this was a decision by PiS, is effectively spread across three ministries. We need to unify this to have a single government policy. And this government, when it comes to energy matters, is doing an immense amount. We have an open path to a nuclear power plant […] we have a wind farm investment commencing in the Baltic Sea – stated Cezary Tomczyk on TOK FM.

– In my opinion, yes [the coalition will survive after the presidential elections]. The coalition is doing well, the government is working, there are minor turbulences in every campaign because we are also competing with each other for voters. However, the truth is that the government is working stably, adopting further laws, and making further decisions important from the citizens' point of view – stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVP Info.

– We have already convinced some, and we increasingly hear from representatives of other coalition groups that they support our direction of social housing, building rental apartments, and limiting developer margins – said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk on TVN24.

– We will absolutely not support it [the 0% credit] and this is not any malice towards our coalition partners. It is simply following the facts and reality – she added.

– Reshuffles, changes, evaluation, assessment of the government’s functioning are completely natural things. This is a natural task for the head of this government, and the composition or shape of the government, in the case of a coalition government, is of course the result of agreements among all coalition partners. There is nothing surprising about the fact that as we approach roughly the halfway point of the government's term, because after the presidential elections it will be approximately that time, such an assessment, such an evaluation is to be made – stated Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk in the program ,,Jeden na Jeden” on TVN24.

– Of course, any improvement in the situation of women after those horrific years in government and after what Julia Przyłębska's tribunal did, but also really after decades of the so-called compromise, would be beneficial. Am I dissatisfied? I am very dissatisfied, indeed, from the very first days that these changes are not happening faster, because like many Polish women on October 15, 2023, I not only voted but also participated in the elections to end the hell for women, so that women could feel safe in Poland – stated Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk on TVN24.

– Generally, I don't understand all this fuss at all, because this trip to Gdańsk, the entire government is going, KPRM [Prime Minister's Chancellery] is organizing it, and I am following the guidelines that came from KPRM, so I don't understand this email at all. It came in with an inquiry about where I could appear on the way back – stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVP Info.

– In the email, no one is asking [for anything specific]; there have been so many lies, fake news, and untruths in the media reports about some toilet – that's not true. In that email, the official, I don't even know who sent it, I asked for its content to familiarize myself with it, only made an inquiry whether there is any place, I understand it concerned a place where the government is supposed to… I am acting in accordance with the guidelines that came from the organizers – she continued.

– Let Karol Nawrocki ask, for example, President Glapiński, why he isn’t lowering interest rates so that housing for the younger generation becomes cheaper. Let Karol Nawrocki ask President Kaczyński why, over 8 years, they led to 50% inflation. Electricity bills haven’t changed; since the new year, they’ve been stable, the same as last year. The government has taken care to freeze energy prices – stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVP Info.

– A fragment, ripped from its context and manipulated by Mariusz Błaszczak, came from documents concerning state defense plans, which are the most closely guarded secrets in the country, period. These plans, as far as defense plans are concerned, just like NATO plans, are known in Poland to perhaps 20 people [...]. Even the title page, even the way this data is recorded, is a closely guarded, or one of the most closely guarded, pieces of information in the state – Cezary Tomczyk said on TOK FM.

– Mariusz Błaszczak used this in a campaign spot during the election campaign, he organized a special press conference, I will talk about that too, because the press conference itself cost taxpayers millions of zlotys, this is a topic we will be addressing in the coming days [...] one conference costing millions of zlotys, because hundreds of units of military equipment were brought there so that Mariusz Błaszczak could wave the state defense plan during the election campaign – he continued.

– Mariusz Błaszczak should be held accountable for this and receive a medal. He should definitely receive a medal from the Russians – he went on to say.

– It seems that this is a natural process, that if Rafał Trzaskowski becomes president, which I deeply believe will happen, there will be a government reconstruction out of necessity, as it will be some new element in politics – Cezary Tomczyk said on TOK FM.

– I would like to stay in the government, if possible – he continued, responding to the suggestion that he might end up in the Presidential Chancellery.

– It seems to me that almost two years since its operation, because then we are talking about August next year, is a moment when a solid summary can be made and also to check who acted well, how the government functions – he went on.

– We realized from the very beginning that we were unable to change the act on departments in such a way as to tailor the government to our needs. We had to step into the shoes of the governmental system that was created, the bloated government that was created under PiS rule, I'm talking about the ministries – he added.

"Regarding this video, I can say that a leopard skin was missing, and it would be a video as if from some African satrapy, [...] it could show the behavior of some chieftain in an African satrapy," said Bogdan Świeczkowski in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM, when asked by Tomasz Terlikowski about Prime Minister Donald Tusk's video response to Świeczkowski's statement yesterday.

– I understand that the Prime Minister's well-being is very good. I see he's switched from football to ping pong. This is probably a bad sign for the state, that we have such a Prime Minister who is not interested in the state, the law, the observance of the law, and the rule of law – said Bogdan Święczkowski in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.

– I won't talk about the man with the mustache under his nose, but for instance, I can recall the story of Benito Mussolini, who came to fascist power in Italy democratically. Later, he democratically changed the system of the Kingdom of Italy, even preserving the office of king – said Bogdan Święczkowski in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

– I am not suggesting anything. History is the teacher of life. […] I hope that a situation will not arise where Poland becomes a non-democratic state, where dictatorial rule will prevail – he stated.

– I believe we are close to a situation where, within six months to a year, the armed forces or police might be deployed on the streets to try and quell social protests – said Bogdan Święczkowski in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

– I am not mentioning any names. I do not know who is leading this organized criminal group. It is possible that individuals from outside the Republic of Poland are also involved. That is what criminal proceedings are for, that is what the prosecutor is for, who should conduct these criminal proceedings – said Bogdan Święczkowski in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

– I have some suspicions, but these are my private suspicions that have not been included in the criminal complaint, because I have not had these suspicions verified. And as a serious lawyer with decades of experience, I will not speak carelessly – he continued.

Repeatedly pressed on who it might be, he replied: – Every intelligent person can answer this question for themselves.

– If this happens [the investigation is taken away from Prosecutor Ostrowski], it will only prove that my notification is highly credible – Bogdan Święczkowski stated in the “Morning Interview” on RMF FM.

In his opinion: – If the current authorities, the current individuals leading the country, both from the executive and legislative branches, have nothing against it and nothing to hide, they should allow Mr. Prosecutor to conduct this proceeding efficiently and objectively. Prosecutor Ostrowski is the only legal Deputy Prosecutor General who decided to initiate this proceeding.

– The Minister of Justice, the Prosecutor General, according to my notification, as well as the information I received about the initiation of the investigation, is a person suspected of participating in this crime. Therefore, a person suspected of participating in a crime cannot make any decisions – he indicated.

– Of course, they can escort me out under arms [from the Constitutional Tribunal]. If they do that, they can do it, it will only confirm the fact that I reported to the prosecutor's office – Bogdan Święczkowski said in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.

– When it comes to cancer patients – in February, the Ministry of Health will resolve a competition worth 5 billion 200 million PLN from the KPO, which you would have blocked for 2 years. Over 5 billion PLN will flow to cancer hospitals in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, a competition for hospitals that participated in the competition rigged by PiS will be announced in March. In total, 10 billion PLN will go to cancer patients this year, something you were unable to do – stated Izabela Leszczyna in the Sejm.

– I wanted to ask Law and Justice and Confederation why you support the most pro-Russian government in the European Union, Prime Minister Orbán’s government. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised all MPs to avoid contact with representatives of the Orbán government, yet you met, Mr. Marshal Bosak, and unfortunately, Mr. Marshals Terlecki and Kuchciński, with Hungarian ambassadors in Poland. This is a disgrace – said Marcin Bosacki during a Sejm session.

– Hungary is blocking two billion zlotys in EU aid for Poland for military equipment that your government provided to Ukraine. This is a disgrace. It is Orbán’s government that makes EU sanctions against Russia ineffective and they should be lifted. You are aligning yourselves with Orbán’s pro-Russian policy. Why are you doing this? – he continued.

– Mr. President Kaczyński, I call on you to control this pro-Russian trend within your ranks, because your late brother, President Lech Kaczyński, is turning in his grave – he went on to say.

– We have a violation of Article 127 of the Penal Code, which is the commission of a very serious crime – forcibly changing the political system – and this is nothing new, because I have said it many times. I don't know how many times, but I have said at least 5 times at press conferences that we must refer to this article, and the use of the term “coup d’état” in its broader sense is justified – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– The law is currently being broken in such a way that it can be qualified under this article, and it is very good that such an investigation has been undertaken by legitimate prosecutors – he continued.

– Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar is participating in all of this. If a trial ever happens, he will be one of the main defendants – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– I don’t think this help will be needed. He is such a strong person that it’s really not necessary. He’s doing very well, he’s very successful during meetings, he speaks very well – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– I have nothing more to say on this matter than that Zbigniew Ziobro’s loyal soldiers, namely Bogdan Święczkowski and Michał Ostrowski, are carrying out very specific, political tasks – Adam Bodnar told journalists.

As he emphasized: – Nothing will stop the prosecution from acting for the benefit of citizens, from accountability to society, and from settling all those irregularities that took place in recent years.

– I would like to familiarize myself with this notification, because I think that if such a serious notification is filed, then firstly, I should not be learning about it from the media, secondly – it should be presented to me, and so far, the only thing I have received is some very modest, few-line letter from Mr. Ostrowski – he continued.

– It is indeed quite characteristic that among the individuals who worked to ensure impunity for their political camp within the framework of the judiciary takeover, [...] that these people holding very high public office believed themselves to be above the law, that they could commit any offense, break any regulation – as we can see, even while holding various responsible positions in the Presidential Palace – said Jan Grabiec in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– I hope that they will be quickly held accountable by the prosecution, indictments will be filed with the court, and an independent court will issue a verdict – he added.

– If someone has committed an offense, they must reckon with the consequences – regardless of whether they worked in the Presidential Palace, the Prime Minister's Chancellery, or the Sejm. They cannot hide behind the back of the leader of this or that party today. Today, they must bear responsibility – he pointed out.

– At the moment, the correspondence, as I say, whose content is officially unknown to us, which arrived from the Constitutional Tribunal, is the private correspondence of Mr. Prosecutor Michał Ostrowski. These are global standards, not just those adopted in Poland, that state bodies can only carry out their tasks when the correspondence has been registered in the manner prescribed by law, and this law stems from the decree of the Prosecutor General – stated the spokesperson for the Prosecutor General, Anna Adamiak.

– After analyzing video materials, after talks with the guard who was present at this incident – Director Katarzyna Karpa-Świderek, and Minister Michał Deskur also participated in the meeting – the Commander [of the Marshal's Guard] decided to suspend the pass, the right of entry to the parliament premises for editor Czuchnowski for a period of 2 months, due to the formulations he used, and the behavior he displayed at that moment – Szymon Hołownia stated in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

„Matecki Did Not Uphold Standards We Expect from a Member of Parliament”
At the same time, he emphasized: – From the note and from what we know from the Marshal's Guard, it is also clearly evident that Member of Parliament Matecki, not only in my assessment, did not uphold the standards we expect from a Member of Parliament, which are expected of him by both the regulations and the law. The manner in which he behaved, the terms he used and which appear in this note, should not be used in the Sejm building.

– Consequently, the Sejm Presidium has just decided to refer the case of Member of Parliament Matecki to the Ethics Committee and to instruct it to review this matter after familiarizing itself with all the material – he informed.

– These types of strategies, which cede half of the Republic and divide Poles, must be forgotten as quickly as possible, and those who brought them about should be held accountable. Because the problem is not that Minister Mariusz Błaszczak [...] spoke the truth about how it was supposed to be, that they wanted to leave half of Poland to the mercy of a potential invader – said Karol Nawrocki in Przasnysz.

– The problem is not that the minister wanted to tell the truth. The problem is that someone signed off on such a strategy and was ready, in the name of the entire Republic, to leave half of our countrymen to the mercy of barbarians. We cannot allow that to happen – he continued.

– We must say a loud 'no' to 'Tusk-inflation', and we will not have such an opportunity when Donald Tusk's deputy becomes President of the Republic. This is the autocracy of a system that cannot cope with what is most important. With public finances. With the prices of food products. With the prices of electricity – said Karol Nawrocki in Przasnysz.

– We must extract a resource that provides cheaper electricity. That resource is black Polish gold, which is coal. Our path is, of course, nuclear power; we are heading towards nuclear, the most flexible and stable source of energy. […] When we reach nuclear in a few decades […] then we will think about what to do with our resources, but until we get there, hands off Polish coal – stated Karol Nawrocki in Przasnysz.

– The President has powerful tools for dialogue with the government, and that's not just the Cabinet Council. It's not just about appointing their own councils. It's about very precisely challenging, posing challenges to the government. Saying that if you don't resolve this, which is important for the people, then you won't resolve many things that are important for you as the political class, because cooperation between the government and the president is the idea that those who wrote our constitution had – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

– An independent president, a president who is neither from PiS nor from Civic Platform, is a chance for Poland's development. It's a chance for us to truly gain new momentum. Today, we need a president who will not be the Prime Minister's yes-man, who will not be Donald Tusk's yes-man, but who will also be able to stand up to Jarosław Kaczyński, if necessary – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

– Electricity must cost less, and for it to cost less, it cannot be burdened with further taxes and various types of fees invented at a Brussels desk. We must do everything as Poland to postpone the ETS2 system. Energy prices must fall, and we will achieve this by making life easier for those who produce this energy – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

– I think all these matters related to Mr. Nawrocki's activities at the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) should be thoroughly explained. Each of us, when holding a certain office, demonstrates through that office how they will perform if they seek further positions. I would not want, and I think Karol Nawrocki's voters would also not want, for Mr. Nawrocki to go to the Presidential Palace and do something strange with the official apartments, or to allocate funds from the Chancellery of the President to his preferred media – Szymon Hołownia said at a press conference.

– If he didn't do [the alleged things], let him come out and say, with his visor raised, what happened, so that people can make a decision based on that and assess who they believe. I also believe that for the good of this entire process, Mr. Nawrocki should no longer combine the function of a presidential candidate with leading the IPN, even in the form of a furloughed president, because Poland needs an IPN that cares about national memory, not one that is, or could be, as some interpret this abbreviation, the Institute for Promoting Nawrocki – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

– In 2025, in the current year, inflation will consistently exceed the inflation target. According to current forecasts, inflation will rise in the first quarter due to higher annual food price dynamics and an increase in gas distribution tariffs. In the second quarter, a statistical base effect from last year's VAT rate increase will push inflation lower. Despite this, inflation will remain similar to the first quarter, as there will be an increase in excise duty on tobacco products in turn – stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

– I promise that I will be a president of the Republic of Poland who will shorten waiting times for doctors and who will take healthcare under special patronage, and this is not just a promise, because I know that for many years, since 1989, the public has heard many promises. Let's be honest, no government has managed to fix Polish healthcare, but we haven't done one fundamental thing in our healthcare – stated Karol Nawrocki in Mława.

– We must realize that there is no such thing as a patient service center. One integrated system connecting all e-prescriptions and e-sick leaves – this is something private facilities have managed to do – he added.

– Accept my promise. When I become President of the Republic of Poland, through the patient service center, I will eliminate queues at hospitals and clinics. I will be determined to enable patients to receive good treatment and prevention – he emphasized.

– I am a candidate for president and I will be a president who will never sign an increase in the retirement age for women and men – stated Karol Nawrocki in Mława.

– Since the United Right government created projects that offer the possibility of cancer treatment, and I remind you that 100,000 Polish women and men die from cancer annually, 25% of deaths in Poland are related to oncological diseases, to cancer. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health is not ready to continue projects devised by the United Right government simply because they were conceived before October 15, 2023 – said Karol Nawrocki in Mława.

– I ask, where is Poland? Where is the Polish citizen? The Polish state exists, we cannot fall into party paranoia. If something works and if there was money for it, we cannot harm those who are sick with cancer, because there are no parties there, there is no party life, no political life – he continued.

– I have had a long conversation with the Chief Commander of the Police. Indeed, in the years 2021-23, we noted an increase in organized crime related to the uncontrolled influx of members of criminal groups from abroad into Poland – Rafał Trzaskowski wrote on social media.

– Contrary to media reports, we managed to significantly curb this process thanks to consistent cooperation with the Police. Next week, together with Minister Tomasz Siemoniak, we will announce further decisive actions guaranteeing security for us all – he emphasized.

– He’s saying such things out of boredom [first reaction to the words of the President of the Constitutional Tribunal]. The Constitutional Tribunal does almost nothing; last year it issued 25 rulings, 13 of which were politically motivated judgments for PiS, defending Glapiński, Kamiński and Wąsik, and Święczkowski himself. Previously, there were 70-80 rulings annually. Today, a citizen waits 2 years for their case to be considered by the Constitutional Tribunal – stated Szymon Hołownia on TVP Info.

– They are simply lazy, they have nothing to do. Therefore, instead of considering the bill on incapacitation, which has been waiting at the Constitutional Tribunal since 2017, Mr. Święczkowski comes up with such nonsense – he continued.

– There is no army and no coup d'état. Just as there are no millions of Poles who would demonstrate against this coalition on December 13. This is an exaggeration of the narrative and, I would say, not constructive for our state, if not pathetic – stated Szymon Hołownia on TVP Info.

"– I will then turn to the National Prosecutor's Office, to the Prosecutor General, to confirm whether someone is not impersonating a prosecutor's officer, because in the way Prosecutor Ostrowski is conducting interrogations today, as I hear, with numerous witnesses reporting to him about this coup d'état, I can consider myself a Barcelona football player and assemble a team or do other things – said Szymon Hołownia in TVP Info, when asked what he would do if Prosecutor Ostrowski summoned him.

"– The Prosecutor General is the superior of all prosecutors in Poland. If the Prosecutor General confirms to me that there is indeed a case in which proceedings are being conducted, then my lawyers and I will consider how the Marshal of the Sejm can respond to such a suggestion – he continued.

– Everyone is declaring the end of the Polish-Polish war today, because it's known that's what Poles want, while over these 15 months, by delivering on all the promises I made on the first day in the Sejm, which can be verified, I have shown that this Polish-Polish war cannot exist – stated Szymon Hołownia on TVP Info.

– I think this whole story about a coup d'état is intended to make us talk about a coup d'état instead of other things, and for Mr. Święczkowski to have his week of pulling the wool over everyone's eyes, along with his entire political formation, for no other reason. – Today, I sent an application concerning a detention penalty for Mr. Zbigniew Ziobro to the regulations committee. Tomorrow, the formal processing and assessment of the application regarding Romanowski, and regarding Błaszczak, will likely be ready. As far as I know, more applications should be expected – he continued.

– I perceive this whole story [about the coup d'état] as an act of utmost desperation on the part of PiS leaders. To be frank, the wheels of justice have finally started turning, and accusations are multiplying, interrogations are increasing, encompassing ever wider circles of the former PiS authorities, and the great reckoning for great thievery is beginning. This is absolutely a reaction, and a rather hysterical one at that – stated Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

– Please don't blame me for firmly holding the position that it's a better idea not to subsidize developers and banks, but to subsidize local governments so they can build housing, because when there's more of something on the market, it gets cheaper, and when there are more buyers, it gets more expensive – said Szymon Hołownia on TVP Info.

– No, because if we stimulate demand even further today, which is already high, it will be like in a shop – he continued, when asked about doing "both" (programs with loans and with housing construction).

– I see a light at the end of the tunnel […] I think an agreement has practically been reached and these housing programs will move forward – he went on to say.

– I don't know that. I know that if Karol Nawrocki wins, it will be much easier for PiS to win in 2027. I've been the Marshal of the Sejm for 15 months, I talk informally with MPs at every session, from left to right, and I know that if the slogan 'Platforma will take everything' or 'Platforma has taken everything' spreads across the country, the political scene will immediately start orienting itself towards 2027 and won't subordinate itself or move towards PO, but rather differentiate itself – stated Szymon Hołownia on TVP Info.

– They stole in front of all of Poland and now they're surprised they're being prosecuted. Back then, as the opposition, we said: 'What are you doing, this is a violation not only of the rules but of the law. Sooner or later you will have to pay for it for a very simple reason – these are crimes.' To that, we heard Mr. Morawiecki's response that PiS would consider whether to govern for two or four terms, and essentially, we have a choice here – said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz on Polsat News.

– I certainly won't break [the coalition], but as someone who talks and has some experience in the political arena, I believe that today the answer for Poland is not all of Poland in the hands of PO. That this is not the answer Poland is waiting for today, and which is safe for Poland. Nor is a PiS president the answer – stated Szymon Hołownia on TVP Info.

– If one lives in Europe, if one wishes well for the nations among whom one lives and for their economies, then one should not celebrate someone or someone's policies who announce a trade war with the economies of the European Union. Because if this were to happen, there will be consequences that will affect all people in Europe, as it means a powerful blow, a great disturbance in the markets, it means a drop in GDP in EU countries, and in the end, it will mean the real impoverishment of people living in Europe – stated Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in Polsat News.

– If I hear that there is some agreement in the coalition of October 15th, I ask who made it? I cannot imagine supporting undemocratic candidates, but I would like everyone to express themselves on this matter, because if someone asks me if I will support Trzaskowski in the second round, I would like to ask Trzaskowski if he will support me if he doesn’t make it to the second round – stated Szymon Hołownia on TVP Info.

– The Green Deal, climate goals will likely remain as banners, but certainly, some things can be postponed, and, to be honest, if there's no climate (impetus) to eliminate them, then in Europe, they are being postponed. Some should simply be eliminated, including reporting obligations for European businesses, which are absolutely horrendous. Common sense is returning. The policy of the United States and the recent elections have primarily sobered up European politicians, showing them they cannot continue down this path – said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in Polsat News.

– This happened in Poland. We won't mend this with catechesis, and it seems to me that if we are to mend it, it will only be through actions. We will mend it through common threats that we must face, but not by delivering sermons – let us reconcile. That is not the way, not the method – said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in Polsat News.

– Only firmness and only effectiveness can stop this [the Polish-Polish war]; certainly not the tone I hear in the Marshal's statements – he continued.
