Today, Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia is expected to announce the date of the first round of presidential elections. Formally, the elections will be called a week later, on January 15th.

On Wednesday, the Sejm will convene for the first time in 2025. The three-day session is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. At 10:10 AM, MPs will address the document titled "Program of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union (January 1 - June 30, 2025)", submitted by the Minister for EU Affairs.

At 12:30 PM, the Sejm has scheduled the first reading of a parliamentary bill concerning specific solutions for the Supreme Court's handling of cases related to Presidential and supplementary Senate elections called in 2025. This refers to the so-called "incidental bill" proposed by Poland 2050.

At 2:30 PM, the second reading is planned for a government bill on specific measures to counteract support for aggression against Ukraine and to protect national security, a bill on the National Revenue Administration, and a bill on combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism. This is a project aimed at implementing EU law.

At 4:00 PM, the second reading of a parliamentary bill establishing the National Day of Remembrance for Home Army Soldiers is scheduled, and at 5:30 PM, the second reading of a government bill on the capacity market, aimed at implementing EU law.

At 7:00 PM, the first reading of a government bill amending the act on granting protection to foreigners on the territory of the Republic of Poland will take place. This involves introducing the possibility of temporarily restricting the right to apply for asylum and adding further grounds for revoking refugee status. At 8:30 PM, the second reading of a parliamentary resolution commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Upper Silesian Tragedy is scheduled.

The Senate will also convene for the first time in 2025 on Wednesday. During the two-day session, which starts at 11:00 AM, senators will address, among other things, the law on entities servicing loans and credit purchasers, and the Aviation Law.

At 10:00 AM, a press conference will be held at the National Museum in Warsaw, featuring, among others, Hanna Wróblewska, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. The topic will be the museum's new storage spaces.

At 11:00 AM, PiS-backed presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki will participate in the first of a series of meetings concerning the economy and entrepreneurs at the Zielna Conference Center. A photo opportunity with statements at the beginning of the meeting and a press briefing after its conclusion are planned.

At 11:15 AM, a press conference will take place in the Sejm with the participation of PiS politicians Mateusz Morawiecki, Piotr Müller, and Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

At 12:00 PM, a press conference is scheduled at the Ministry of Health regarding the results of a competition for the creation and development of Clinical Research Support Centers within the framework of the National Reconstruction and Resilience Plan. Katarzyna Kacperczyk, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health, will participate in the conference.

On Wednesday, Confederation presidential candidate Sławomir Mentzen will appear in three locations. At 4:00 PM, he will visit Białobrzegi, at 6:00 PM he will be in Grójec, and at 8:00 PM in Otwock.

– He [Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz] has the right to his views, I have the right to mine. However, if this starts to affect the position of the entire coalition, to a situation where PiS with Konfederacja, in many polls right now, potentially look as if there were elections and they would have a majority, then at this point I sincerely ask both Władek Kosiniak, whom I like, respect, we are buddies, and Szymek Hołownia, my boss, the Marshal of the Sejm, you really must reflect on this – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

– Because if your whims and blockages in your heads lead to social groups turning away from us, and most importantly, if women turn away from us, then someone will have to take responsibility that PiS with Konfederacja will take power – he continued.

– It's a so-called incidental bill, that's how it's being discussed. In my opinion, it's an incidental cooperation, an incidental collaboration with PiS. The Left will not support a bill that incidentally, for a moment, grants full rights to neo-judges – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

– I am very concerned about this draft law that has been submitted to the Sejm, which is meant to concern Minister Romanowski, but which could be a bludgeon to actually eliminate the opposition in Poland – said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Renata Grochal on "Bez Uników!" on Trójka.

– If the law states that temporarily arresting an MP is enough for them not to execute their mandate, then in this way an opposition club in the Sejm can be eliminated, or I can imagine that in a situation where the ruling majority today loses its majority in parliament, it is enough for them to arrest a few MPs and they have the matter settled – he continued.

– Purely totalitarian law – he added.

– If we look at this more broadly, please observe how the liquidation of the opposition in Russia or Belarus unfolded. There too, Khodorkovsky or Navalny, for instance, were not imprisoned for political reasons; they were all jailed for embezzlement, for financial abuses – Jacek Sasin stated on Trójka.

– Yes, Donald Tusk is following the exact same path – he continued.

– I remember how Alexander Lukashenko began his rule as a hope for democrats, as someone who would dismantle the Soviet system and introduce democracy in Belarus, and we see how it ended – he went on.

– Of course he should [Domański should pay PiS the money]. Every official should act within the limits and on the basis of the law. In my opinion, if someone fails to fulfill their duties, they should be brought to court, and whether the court sentences them to imprisonment or restriction is already within the purview of a free and independent court. Politicians should not pass judgment – stated Sławomir Mentzen on RMF FM.

– In my opinion, the [constitutional] reset proposal should be supported by the entire TD. I haven't spoken with them, but I believe they should support it. They support all of Donald Tusk's criminal actions. TD announced that they would be between PiS and Civic Platform, that they would be the true TD, after which they stuck to Tusk and are carrying out his orders, often unlawfully. I don't understand this, so if they want to fulfill their promises, they should support our constitutional reset proposal – said Sławomir Mentzen on RMF FM.

– This [National Election Commission] resolution is unambiguous. Its essence is that the financial report of Law and Justice has been accepted, and the consequence is the disbursement of funds. No other circumstances, no commentary that might have been included in that resolution, simply changes this – Jacek Sasin stated on Trójka.

– Based on the provisions of the law, the money should go to PiS. I personally believe that PiS should not receive subsidies because I think they financed their election campaign using public funds. However, it is not for me to decide; the Supreme Court will, and since the court has ruled, unfortunately, they are entitled to it. This is what a state of law means – it's not politicians who should decide such matters, but the court – stated Sławomir Mentzen on RMF FM.

– I intend to make it to the second round, and there get 51%. In my opinion, Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik would be a great head of the chancellery – Sławomir Mentzen said on RMF FM.

– I would rather have Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik as head of the chancellery than Grzegorz Braun. It should be that the spokesperson answers for the president, not the president for the spokesperson – he added.

– If Marek Jakubiak makes it to the second round, I think I'll be very close to supporting such a candidate – stated Sławomir Mentzen on RMF FM.

– What does it mean nobody is envious? Let’s really stop pitying the man who, instead of executing the law […] today is taking a path where his superior’s tweet is more important to him than the Constitution and the law. Let’s really not pity such a person – said Jacek Sasin on Trójka.

– If [Andrzej Domański] is unable to bear the responsibility as Minister of Finance, then he should simply resign and show that he does not agree with the breaking of law in Poland – he continued.

– We naturally support this candidacy [Karol Nawrocki for president], however, I think that many more times during this election campaign, he will speak out not entirely in line, or perhaps even inconsistently with the party line or the line of Law and Justice – said Jacek Sasin on Trójka.

– This is precisely the advantage of an independent, non-partisan candidate, that they can afford to have an independent opinion and independent views, completely differently than Rafał Trzaskowski – he continued.

– Who is truly responsible for the Green Deal? The vote in the European Parliament is one thing; on the other side of the coin are those who actively worked to introduce the Green Deal, including the rapporteur for the Green Deal in the Committee of the Regions and the minister who negotiated the first climate agreement, agreeing to EU targets. – I continue to say: fine, I understand your [the Left's] position, but in that case, what do you propose, what other solution will you put on the table? This is a law, a bill, it's not scripture. If the KO, PSL, PL2050, and Konfederacja clubs wish to submit amendments to this law, then of course those amendments should be considered – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

– I hope this law passes, and let's spare ourselves the contemplation of what President Duda will do, I beg you. If, for every law we are to vote on, we start wondering – whether the president will sign it or not, then perhaps we should just close down the Sejm altogether and let it not deal with anything, not enact any laws, because God forbid the president doesn't sign it – the Marshal of the Sejm continued.

As I announced, this afternoon I will announce the date of the presidential election, and I hope that then it will dawn on us that everything I am talking about, this chaos that may soon occur, will not happen in a year, but can begin to happen in a dozen or so days – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

– I am a little concerned that the health contribution law, which we agreed upon, concerning 2026, is lying in a subcommittee and nothing is happening with it, but I hope that something will start to happen, because people simply need it, and we must deliver on our promises – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

– I would advise Minister Domański to submit a letter to the National Electoral Commission (PKW) with a very simple message. The Oracle of Delphi has decreed whether payments should be made or not, and since the Minister of Finance is solely a technical operator of the transfer, which they must or must not execute, they should request a clear explanation from the PKW regarding the resolution – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

– We don't need [changes in the Supreme Court], this is utter nonsense, this chamber is entirely legal. Citing European courts makes no sense here. Because the European treaty clearly states that when it comes to the organization of the judiciary, it is the exclusive competence of the state, and besides, there are ECJ rulings stating that if someone is appointed by the president, they are a judge and there's nothing to discuss – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– Of course not [we will not vote for the incidental bill] – the PiS leader continued.

– Of course he should [Andrzej Domański pay the subsidy to PiS]. If he doesn't, then in the current system, which has not only broken the rule of law but doesn't even recognize the binding force of law anymore, well, nothing will happen, but if it changes, he will have to face the consequences – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– We will start with Poland’s presidency of the European Union and the clear, firm stance of the PSL-Third Way Parliamentary Club, but also the stance of the entire government: no to the Mercosur agreement, no to the agreement with South American countries, which is dangerous for Polish consumers and farmers, for European consumers and farmers – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– We are the only government to have adopted such a firm resolution; we are acting on the international stage to secure a blocking minority. France and Ireland are with us, and there are other countries. We are very keen on an alliance with Italy and we hope that then this blocking minority will be enshrined – he continued.

– We must be certain that today this [electoral] process will proceed correctly, hence Marshal Hołownia's initiative, which we support. But we have another idea as well. It stems from our consultations with the Jagiellonian Club – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– The gentlemen from the Jagiellonian Club propose the following solution: The State Tribunal, as the sole state body connected with the judiciary, which is not subject to any assessment whatsoever [...]. The State Tribunal, as an unquestionable body, should rule on the legality of the presidential elections. This is a proposal that we are adopting from the Jagiellonian Club, and we want to present it to other organizations and political formations – he continued.

– This, of course, requires a change to the Constitution, changes to laws; we are ready for this, we still have time – he went on to say.

– There will be no discussion about this judge or that judge, there will be no doubts, because the State Tribunal, its composition, raises no doubts today – he added.

– The next issue we will address at this session is to clearly stand up for hunters. The PSL, our party, clearly states: tradition, history, culture, but also the future, are important to us, they are a symbol of our presence in politics – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– We will defend the right to hunting and the right to sport hunting, which is why our parliamentary club will today submit a motion to reject the bill sponsored by Mr. Dorożała [introducing, among other things, mandatory medical examinations for hunters], which is intended to restrict and stigmatize hunters. We are for hunting, we are for sport hunting, we are for breeding, we are for anglers – he continued.

– If the PSL submits this motion, we expect some of our coalition partners to support it, and we also count on other opposition formations – he added.

– Tomorrow, there will be a meeting in Ramstein, in the format of states supporting Ukraine. This is broader than NATO; its creator is Lloyd Austin, the still-serving Secretary of Defense of the United States. I want to thank him, first and foremost, for his unwavering support for Poland, for the presence of American troops in Poland, for support for Ukraine, and for our joint initiatives – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– We are heading the armored capability coalition together with Germany and Italy, so I will present the achievements we have already made during the three years of the war in Ukraine, and the amount of aid we have provided – he continued.

– This might be the last meeting of this type, as the new administration will probably propose a different form of these actions. I believe that NATO should take on a greater burden, just as it has now, from this year, taken on a greater burden in the actions related to the protection of the Jasionka airport – he went on to say.

– For Monday next week, I have invited the defense ministers of Germany, France, Great Britain, and Italy, and with the participation of... via teleconference, of course, with Minister Umerov from Ukraine. So, on Monday, a very important meeting of the 'big five' will take place. We will also discuss the changes happening across the ocean, meaning the swearing-in of President Trump – he added.

– PSL was stripped of tens of millions, over 50 million Polish zloty, we lost this money for a tiny mistake, completely incomparable to the mistakes of PiS. We returned 20 million to the State Treasury. Nobody cried over PSL, nobody so much as whispered that this was the end of democracy, that a communist junta was returning to power, etc. Everyone applauded that we had our money taken away – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– We will not cry over PiS. Minister Domański should make a decision, and he certainly will, one that is in accordance with the provisions of the law, and that is all we care about – he continued.

– I am hearing very disturbing information from people, which I wanted to consult about. Of course, inflation is not just a media issue. As we know and experience in our households. I am also experiencing inflation in my own home, which stems on the one hand from electricity prices, from gas prices, but it also affects our daily lives – stated Karol Nawrocki during a meeting concerning the economy and entrepreneurs.

– The prices of everyday grocery products have increased very drastically, and this is the voice of citizens with whom I meet across Poland – he continued.

– I would like to remind and appeal to Marshal Hołownia that in the situation we find ourselves in, which is a geopolitical crisis caused by Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the rise in electricity prices, entrepreneurs, for reasons I do not understand, have been excluded from the upper price limit for electricity, set at PLN 500 per MWh. Municipalities and individuals have such protection in 2025, albeit temporarily limited, but entrepreneurs are excluded from these protections and this upper limit –
stated Karol Nawrocki during a meeting concerning the economy and entrepreneurs.

– We know that in the Polish Sejm, in Marshal Hołownia’s ‘freezer,’ there is a bill prepared by PiS that includes entrepreneurs in these protections and gives them the opportunity to plan their future in 2025 – he continued.

– I appeal to those on the other side of the cameras, those watching us, whether in the face of this high cost of living, the financial and economic situation of the Polish state, you would want to see a president who is the deputy leader of a political party, who will be forced to sign further laws that are certainly not good for the citizens of the Polish state? – stated Karol Nawrocki during a meeting concerning the economy and entrepreneurs.

– But remaining within party pragmatism, having one's party leader, the leader of one's party, who is simultaneously the Prime Minister of the Polish government, will also remain in this practice as president. I believe that the guarantee of the Polish state's prosperity, a certain balance on the Polish political scene, can only be a president who has never been and is not a member of a political party, has no political and party leader, and therefore will make his decisions, including those for entrepreneurs, after consultations, after meetings – he continued.

– My party is Poland, and my boss is Poles, and that is why I will make every decision with Poland and Poles in mind – emphasized the presidential candidate.

– We are operating in a very difficult reality. On one hand, negotiations for the Mercosur deal have concluded. There is no agreement for this deal to enter into force; this is the most crucial issue at the moment. The government is doing everything it can to assemble a blocking coalition within the European Union so that this harmful deal for the competitiveness of our agriculture does not come into effect. It must be recalled that a PiS commissioner and the PiS government itself supported this deal, and only now have they woken up, at the moment when the preliminary negotiations have ended – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference.

– Today, it is fundamental for us to secure the interests of our agriculture, the competitiveness of our agriculture, because this also translates into security matters, as food security in these difficult times is paramount. That's why I am meeting with farmers, I have met them in Podlasie and Masovia, and today here in West Pomerania – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference.

– This is also a lesson for us for the future, that subsequent trade agreements must be under close scrutiny, we need to examine the agreements that the European Union negotiates, not agree to start negotiations in areas that could be harmful to Polish agriculture, and also consider the impact of these agreements on Polish agriculture – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference.

– A very difficult process of admitting Ukraine to the European Union lies ahead of us. We must realize that Ukraine cannot join the European Union if its agricultural policy is not changed, and the question is, of course, how this policy should change, and this needs to be discussed very honestly both within the EU and with our Ukrainian partners – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference.

– I will, of course, support WOŚP. Unfortunately, the attacks are repeated every year, but I believe no other foundation has done as much good for the health of our children. I will, of course, participate in the WOŚP finale, – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference.

– They [the attacks] are scandalous. Unfortunately, we live in a time when even the most noble cause and the most noble foundation in our country unfortunately becomes the target of attacks that bear political hallmarks. One can only lament this. Well, unfortunately, Jurek Owsiak has been attacked many times, despite having done so much good for healthcare and for Polish children – he continued.

– The world is entering a pivotal period. Prime Minister Tusk has deserted, and the Polish presidency will effectively be conducted under Brussels' direction. This is Poland's presidency, but it will be implemented by the European Commission. This is another such opportunity, occurring once every 14 years, which will be squandered. In 2011, this chance was lost due to the reset with Russia. Today, it is 2025, and we could be setting the agenda for the European Council and the Council of the European Union. Instead, the Polish government has truly resigned from this opportunity – stated Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

– Why did the Polish government withdraw from the Three Seas Summit? From including the Three Seas Summit in the European Council's agenda, from inviting President Trump to the Three Seas meeting, an area on which our security will depend, it's not enough to just throw a slogan in the air and expect everything to happen by itself – Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press conference.

– Why was the European Union – United States summit abandoned, when it is clearly visible, as President Trump himself said, that we are on the path of strengthening our defense spending. The figure of 5% of GDP was mentioned; ladies and gentlemen, after preparations, after sealing the financial system, Poland is ready for it – he continued.

– Let's not joke that this guarantees any adherence to the legal standards guaranteed by the Polish legal system. As long as the law is not restored, as long as Supreme Court rulings and judgments are not respected, as long as the Constitutional Tribunal is not paralyzed, we will have a state of lawlessness. In a state of lawlessness, every citizen has the right to confront the lawlessness and criminal actions of the prime minister. We have a criminal prime minister – stated Zbigniew Ziobro in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

– This is another significant omission. Every country holding the presidency has the opportunity to organize an informal summit, inviting all leaders, heads of government of the member states, and shaping the summit's agenda. It is there that Prime Minister Tusk would have had the chance to directly propose a departure from the Green Deal – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

– At such a council, an informal council, it would also be possible to easily introduce an item concerning an immediate departure from the Migration Pact – he added.

– The entire program, I assume, we will learn in February, in mid-February or the second half of February. This will be the moment when I will present Karol Nawrocki's entire package, Karol Nawrocki's contract with Poles, which will be implemented when I become president – stated Karol Nawrocki in a conversation with journalists.

– We are immediately proposing to supplement the presidency's agenda, currently held by Poland, with these missing elements. Poland is prepared for this; Poland has the budget secured for this purpose and all other elements necessary for the implementation of such a task. The failure to implement these three points, the failure to implement the actual agenda enhancing Poland's security [organization of an informal EU summit in Warsaw, the Three Seas Summit, and EU-USA relations] will mean that the Polish government acts under someone else's dictation – stated Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

– I believe the police should deal with this and clarify the matter – stated Karol Nawrocki in a conversation with journalists.

– I have been supporting Caritas for many years. I understand that we live in such freedom of conscience, I support Caritas, but I will surprise you, Mr. Editor. When I was the director of the World War II Museum, volunteers appeared, and of course, they had the freedom to use the World War II Museum, even though I was neither the organizer nor co-organizer of that – he continued.

– I am going on leave. I am going on leave at the moment the Marshal begins the election. So, most likely, I will prepare [a conference on this matter] starting Monday – stated Karol Nawrocki in a conversation with journalists.

– This is not an incidental law, it is an unfortunate law. Because incidental collaboration with evil is evil. Does the one-off nature and ephemerality of such a law improve the situation, the state of the rule of law in Poland? Well, no – stated Anna-Maria Żukowska in the Sejm.

– We stood before the Supreme Court with candles, we fought for the restoration of the rule of law, we supported the steadfast judges, often repressed under the PiS government for adhering to the Constitution. And what do we have now, under our government, deny this fight? Neo-judges cannot rule on the validity of elections – the Left MP continued.

– The choice was between […] dates around the May holidays […] it could have been, for example, May 4th, May 11th, May 18th, and after consultations, also with the Chairman of the National Electoral Commission, I have decided that the vote to elect the next President of the Republic of Poland will take place on May 18th of this year – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

– This means that if a second round of voting is necessary, the repeat vote will take place on June 1st, 2025 – he continued.

– Just a moment ago, Chairman Marciniak said that already the next day, meaning next Thursday, a resolution by the National Electoral Commission regarding all attachments, signature collection forms, and all other materials necessary for candidates to register their committees is possible – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

– If this vote is to take place on May 18th, then naturally, all subsequent deadlines are connected with this; I will now present the most important deadlines to you, provisionally. I am presenting them provisionally because they are currently the subject of consultations between me and the National Electoral Commission. If the National Electoral Commission accepts them […] then on January 15th, they will become part of my decree – he continued.

The deadlines presented by Szymon Hołownia are as follows:

– Until March 24th: the possibility to notify the National Electoral Commission about the formation of an electoral committee;
– Until March 31st: the appointment of district electoral commissions;
– Until April 4th: the deadline for nominating presidential candidates.

– The choice wasn’t particularly large, as between the 11th and 18th [of May] there’s essentially almost no difference, but from the conversations I’ve had […] there’s a chance that if these elections are a bit longer after the May long weekend and also a bit longer after the series of all these free weekends […] then the political process can be clearly communicated – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

– Regardless of who will vote for whom, so that people know, remember that these elections are happening, and that it’s worth going to them, I decided to schedule these elections for the 18th of May – he continued.

– I generally, unlike some, believe that politicians holding high state offices should meet with judges as rarely as possible, because these are, after all, two different dimensions – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference, when asked, among other things, whether he was planning a meeting with the First President of the Supreme Court.

– The court is not there to negotiate with politicians, and politicians are not there to negotiate with the court. Politicians are there to establish the law […] and the court is there to ensure that this law is obeyed. […] I am not planning such a meeting, because I also don’t know what would really come of it. […] I would not see the chance to avoid this deadlock, which […] may threaten us during the presidential election procedure, in this – he continued.

– The start of the year in politics has been unexpectedly hot. The security of the region, the Baltic Sea, and transatlantic relations were the topics of my discussions today with the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and the Chancellor of Germany – Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on social media.

Andrzej Domański has spoken out regarding the December decision of the National Electoral Commission (PKW) concerning PiS's financial report and the associated issue of grant and subsidy payments to the party.

"The content of the PKW resolution is internally contradictory"
– The Minister of Finance, in accordance with the Constitution, acts based on and within the limits of the law. This also includes the execution of resolutions by the National Electoral Commission – he emphasized.

As stated in the declaration: – In the case of the PKW resolution of December 30, 2024, we are dealing with an unprecedented situation in the institutional practice of the PKW's activities, as well as in the state's institutional practice. The PKW adopted a resolution with internally contradictory, conditional content, where paragraph 2 undermines the content of paragraph 1, which raises very serious interpretative doubts, including regarding the proper execution of the PKW resolution.

– Objections regarding the clarity of the PKW resolution are widespread; they are articulated in public debate by legal experts, including former and current members of the PKW – he added.

"I have contacted the PKW"
– I am obliged to clarify all legal doubts before executing the PKW resolution. Detailed legal analyses have been conducted at the Ministry of Finance, aimed at defining the Minister of Finance's obligations arising from the aforementioned PKW resolution and allowing for their prompt execution – Domański indicated.

– As a result of these analyses, and bearing in mind the numerous doubts related to the content of the resolution in question by the PKW, I have contacted the PKW to interpret the resolution, i.e., to clarify doubts about its content – the Minister of Finance conveyed.

– I appeal for an end to media attacks on ministry officials. They are an apolitical, administrative, and substantive support in the decisions I make. Attempts to exert pressure on apolitical officials will not contribute to the prompt clarification of this matter – he concluded.

– We are dealing with an absolutely unprecedented resolution. A resolution that is internally contradictory, in which paragraph two de facto denies paragraph one, a resolution that is full of ambiguities – said Andrzej Domański in „Fakty po Faktach” (Facts After Facts) on TVN24.

– And this is not just my opinion, it is the opinion of a number of the greatest legal authorities, constitutionalists, administrative law experts, former members of the PWE, as well as, perhaps most interestingly, current members of the National Electoral Commission, de facto co-authors of this resolution – he continued.

– Of course, I have no doubts, the PKW's decision should mean the disbursement of funds. If this does not happen, and this is a matter related to our conversation, then we will see, we will once again be convinced that these presidential elections, because I am a civic candidate, but PiS supports me as a party, will also take on a tone in this aspect that cannot be considered fair – stated Karol Nawrocki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events).

– I really like the proposed dates, especially since May 18th is the birthday of the greatest Pole, the Polish Pope John Paul II, and June 1st concerns all of us, both children and those who have children, so in terms of symbolism, both these dates are very uplifting – stated Karol Nawrocki in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

– I have approached the National Electoral Commission (PKW) for an interpretation, for a specific clarification, as to what the National Electoral Commission actually means – said Andrzej Domański on TVN24.

– I have of course asked several questions there, I think the most important one is that I asked for confirmation whether paragraph two, that famous second paragraph of the PKW resolution, means that the resolution can only be implemented in the case of a prior examination of the electoral committee's complaint by the Supreme Court, note, constituted in accordance with the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union – he continued.

– I am asking them if they have such a ruling, and if they do, I would like them to point it out to me – he went on, when asked whether the PKW should answer whether, in its opinion, the Extraordinary Control Chamber is a court in accordance with Polish and EU law.

– Of course, I am ready to debate with the Civic Platform Vice-Chairman Rafał Trzaskowski, because there is something to discuss. Poland is currently experiencing severe inflation, which is also a reflection of my meetings with Poles, as well as from watching your television and other channels. We see that the prices of food products are reaching truly high levels, and the Civic Platform Vice-Chairman bears co-responsibility for this – stated Karol Nawrocki on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events).

– First and foremost, I expect a response from the National Electoral Commission (PKW), not solely from Mr. Chairman Marciniak – said Andrzej Domański on TVN24.

– For me, it is extremely important to resolve this matter without unnecessary delay – he continued.

– On Wednesday, I will begin my leave. Yes, in accordance with Marshal Hołownia's decision. As we know, the election campaign officially begins next week, and I hope I won't be the only candidate remaining on leave – stated Karol Nawrocki on Polsat News' "Guest of Events."

“If I do not receive such an interpretation from the National Electoral Commission, I will regularly remind the National Electoral Commission about this, because it is an extremely important matter for me,” said Andrzej Domański on TVN24.

“If I do not receive a response from the National Electoral Commission, a response I am of course counting on very much,” he continued, when asked if he would send further letters to the PKW, urging them on.

– I did consult with lawyers at the Ministry of Finance, of course. It was they who recommended that I approach the National Electoral Commission (PKW) for clarification, for an interpretation. Naturally, I also discussed this matter with Prime Minister Tusk – said Andrzej Domański on TVN24.

– It is extremely important to me that there is no pressure whatsoever from the Prime Minister. I believe I have his full support – he continued.

– I am for life from conception to natural death. I am a Christian, a Catholic. I also take into account, of course, in my position the fact that Poland is made up of people of varying sensitivities; such is the role of the president, to represent all Poles, but the foundations, the values from which I draw, are pro-life foundations – stated Karol Nawrocki in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

– Based on a resolution formulated in this way, full of ambiguities, full of internal contradictions, public funds, taxpayer money, cannot naturally be disbursed – said Andrzej Domański on TVN24.

– I'm not afraid of PiS. I have to carry out my constitutional duties here [...] and no threats, no blackmail from PiS impress me and will not prevent me from carrying out my constitutional duties – said Andrzej Domański on TVN24.

– We have a very good Minister of Finance, who is acting reliably and honestly in this matter, and can honestly explain it to Poles. And secondly, let’s remember where this matter originated. Because we are talking about a fragment of an issue, essentially a final chord of a process that began with the State Electoral Commission stating that PiS was unlawfully inflating its campaign expenditures, using means other than those intended for this purpose – stated Michał Kamiński on TVN24.

– I would not sign a law returning to the abortion compromise because of the premise I told you about. As a future president, I could not allow abortions to be performed on children with Down syndrome – stated Karol Nawrocki on Polsat News’ “Gość Wydarzeń” (Guest of Events).

– I wouldn't sign such a bill [on civil partnerships]. That's obvious. In Poland, we have two sexes, and as the Constitution states, marriage is a union of a woman and a man. Therefore, seeking legal regulations, such as the status of a 'close person,' if I were to open myself to discussion, it would be around the status of a 'close person' – stated Karol Nawrocki on Polsat News' 'Gość Wydarzeń' (Guest of Events).

– I am open to discussing the status of a 'close person,' which would also regulate many ordinary friendships, or the care and support provided by a younger or older person – he continued.

– Everything should be very simple. Minister Domański himself said that the role of the finance minister is purely technical. The National Electoral Commission's (PKW) resolution is not ambiguous. It clearly states that it accepts, based on the Supreme Court's decision, the financial report of the PiS electoral committee, and therefore Minister Domański's role is to disburse these funds – said Radosław Fogiel in an interview with Marek Czyż on TVP Info's "Pytanie dnia" (Question of the Day).

He assessed: – Today, he is trying to play for time, he is trying to ask the PKW for an interpretation. I would like to remind you that even here, this move doesn't make sense. [...] The PKW's letter from December 30, after adopting the appropriate resolution: "The PKW informs that the premise for reducing the amount of the entity subsidy has been eliminated." This is the clarification the minister is expecting from the PKW, it has already been sent.

– I have a constant stance on this matter. I have already answered this question as the president of the institute. As of today, I do not see Ukraine in any structure, neither in the EU nor in NATO, until matters that are also crucial civilizational issues for Poles are resolved. A state that is unable to account for a very brutal crime against 120,000 of its neighbors cannot be part of international alliances – stated Karol Nawrocki in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

– The problem, of course, lies with the prosecutor's office, [...] with the judiciary, but that does not absolve us of the responsibility to formulate charges, to submit [in the form of a notification to the prosecutor's office] issues such as the minister of finance's failure to perform his duties, if only to leave a trace in the documentation. So that when the depoliticized prosecutor's office, indeed in a situation where the rule of law returns, deals with this, there will be documents – said Radosław Fogiel in "Pytanie dnia" on TVP Info.

– Of course, we always hope that one honest prosecutor will be found who will move the case forward, and not, for example, on Adam Bodnar's orders, bury it under the carpet – he added.

– For Poland, Poles, and Polish security, I am willing to reach an agreement with any government, because Poland is the most important thing to me, and my party is also Poland. If the situation required it [a meeting with Donald Tusk], if citizens expected it, if the Prime Minister and the government managed to prepare a package of laws that would be good for Poles, I would not exhibit the pettiness characteristic of some politicians – stated Karol Nawrocki in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.
