Wednesday's Political Agenda: Duda and Tusk Meet NATO Secretary General, Government Discusses Health Contributions, US Base Opens in Redzikowo, Trzaskowski in Olsztyn

At 10:00, a press briefing will begin at the headquarters of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, with the participation of the Minister of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak. The topic will be the signing of an agreement for the design and construction of the S19 Jawornik-Lutcza expressway section.

At 12:00, the government session is scheduled to commence, which was originally planned for Tuesday. Participants are expected to hear information from the Minister of Health regarding ongoing and planned systemic changes in healthcare, as well as information from the Ministers of Finance and Health on proposed changes to the health insurance contribution calculation system.

In the second part of the session, the government will address a draft amendment to the act on promoting electricity generation from offshore wind farms, as well as a draft amendment to the waste act.

At 13:00, the official opening ceremony of the American Aegis Ashore missile defense base in Redzikowo will take place. The event will be attended by, among others, President Andrzej Duda, Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak–Kamysz, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski. Andrzej Duda and Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz are scheduled to give speeches during the ceremony, and after its conclusion, around 14:30, the Minister of National Defence is expected to give statements to the media.

At 17:30, a meeting between President Andrzej Duda and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will take place at the Presidential Palace. Following its conclusion, a meeting between Duda and Rutte with media representatives is planned. On the same day, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will also meet with the NATO Secretary General. Statements to the media are scheduled for 17:00.

Also at 17:30, Rafał Trzaskowski is scheduled to meet with residents in Olsztyn.

08:07

Leszczyna on Whom She'll Support in the KO Primaries:

He's a Great Candidate, I'm Sure He'll Win.
- I am constant in my feelings; for 5 years I have considered Rafał a great candidate. He would have won in 2020, and I am sure he will win now - said Izabela Leszczyna in an interview with Maciej Głogowski on "Poranek TOK FM," when asked if she would vote for Rafał Trzaskowski in the KO primaries. - Radek Sikorski is such a good, even a very good, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and in difficult times, I believe we need such a Minister of Foreign Affairs - she continued.

08:14

Leszczyna:

PiS Privatized the Healthcare System and Failed to Organize It for Access to Doctors in Small Towns
- In 2022, Poles contributed 51.5 billion zlotys to healthcare from their own pockets, from private pockets. Over the 8 years of PiS rule, 82 maternity wards were closed [...] perhaps now they don't know if they have remorse, that they are shouting so much - said Izabela Leszczyna on TOK FM. - PiS privatized the healthcare system because we have to contribute over 50 billion from our own pockets, even though we pay contributions. But they did something else. They did not organize the system in such a way that Poland outside of large cities, provincial Poland, the Poland of small towns, has access to a doctor - she continued. - Today we have a situation where we have doctors in big cities, we have a concentration of hospitals in big cities, and we don't have doctors who want to work in small, district hospitals, and something needs to be done about this - she went on to say.

08:23

Czarzasty:

We Won't Agree to Diverting Funds from Hospitals

- We do not agree to taking money away from hospitals, where there is already a shortage of funds. Therefore, I believe this is a rational stance. Consequently, we have stated: if you want to help entrepreneurs, and if you are not using our proposed idea, then we kindly ask you to balance the deficit in healthcare funding – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- We told the minister [of finance], whom we deeply respect; we believe Minister Domański is managing these matters excellently, as it is difficult and financial resources are scarce everywhere, that we simply propose and ask for this to be taken into consideration. We hope it will be. The government will hold a discussion today. If these conditions are met to a significant extent, our ministers will of course support it – the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm continued.

08:25

Lewica Raised Doubts and Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz Wanted Us to Discuss': Leszczyna on Government Debate over Healthcare Changes
- The Prime Minister came to the conclusion, and I agree with him, that we first need to present a broader picture of the healthcare system to our fellow ministers. Today, that is precisely what I am to do, and I will talk about this act, which is one of three elements of the entire package of changes I have prepared over these nearly 11 months in the ministry - said Izabela Leszczyna in TOK FM, when asked why the government would not adopt her draft act now but instead listen to information. - Representatives of Lewica raised certain doubts, and Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said he would like us to discuss it - she continued, when asked who in the government was not convinced by her solutions.

08:28

Czarzasty:

No Agreement on Hospital Privatization in Any Form

- There will be no agreement on hospital privatization in any form, as far as the Left is concerned. Why? Because hospitals are not, in our opinion, for making money, but rather for serving people - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in the "Graffiti" program on Polsat News.

- The Left submitted two or three comments in this regard, I don't know if they will be taken into account or not, but these comments likely contributed to Minister Leszczyna deciding to discuss it further, probably with other caucuses - he continued.

08:37

Czarzasty on the Sejm Marshal's Position:

No Reasonable Person Would Want to Break the Coalition Agreement

- No emotions. I understand that he [Michał Kobosko] wanted to draw attention to his statements. We forgive and ask for forgiveness - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in Polsat News's "Graffiti".

- This will not be any problem for the coalition, because this coalition is made up of reasonable people. There is a coalition agreement, breaking the coalition agreement is binding and carries various consequences. I think no reasonable person would want to break this agreement - he continued.

08:46

Czarzasty on Leave During the Presidential Campaign:

We’ve Set the Rules.

We’ve set the rules, which the Marshal of the Sejm will also adhere to if he decides to run [regarding leave during the campaign]. Let’s not get carried away, it’s not as if those who will be running [for president] will leave the country for a month and a half. Everyone has their duties, so it must be performed within reason – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in “Graffiti” on Polsat News.

09:12

Kamiński:

Sikorski's Nomination for President Will Reopen Discussion on a Joint Candidate

- I believe that Radosław Sikorski's nomination as the KO candidate for president will reopen the discussion about a joint candidate. If Radosław Sikorski were to be the candidate, I would advocate for all of us, including Szymon Hołownia, to agree on this candidacy. Moreover, I think there are huge chances for this – stated Michał Kamiński in the program "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

09:13

Kamiński on Why Sikorski is a Better Candidate Than Trzaskowski:

He Didn't Participate in Removing Crosses from Offices.

- If you ask me why Trzaskowski is a worse candidate in the second round than Radosław Sikorski, it's because Radosław Sikorski did not remove crosses from offices in Poland, and Radosław Sikorski did not participate in or permit the parodying of Holy Mass – Michał Kamiński stated on TVN24.

- There are a lot of non-PiS voters, and therein lies the problem. Non-PiS voters who do not want a moral revolution and leftism in Poland, whatever we may call it, and this is a problem we must face – he continued.

09:14

Kamiński:

Don't Expect Trump to Be Indifferent to Who Becomes President in Warsaw

- Let's not rule out, but rather be highly certain, that this will be a campaign strongly supported from across the ocean. It will be a campaign that can count on support from America, because for the American administration, the chance to install a president very much their own in Warsaw is something Americans will look at with interest, given that Trump has very few allies in Europe today, very few – stated Michał Kamiński on TVN24.

- Next year, Poland will have the world's 13th largest defense budget. This is a budget that is very strongly noticed from the Pentagon's perspective, so don't expect that Donald Trump, with his approach to the world, will be indifferent to who takes the presidency in such an important country as Poland is today – he continued.

09:15

Kamiński on Hołownia's Election Run:

With the Logic That Every Party Has Its Candidate, He Has Huge Chances.

- The TD's candidate for president is Szymon Hołownia. We were in agreement on this, and nothing has happened to change that. If the logic prevails, which it seems our friends from PO prefer, and which Prime Minister Donald Tusk described as a proposal for three relatively friendly campaigns, then naturally, within that logic, Szymon Hołownia is a candidate, and a very good one, with huge chances – stated Michał Kamiński on TVN24.

- I don't think so, I mean, he probably was by someone. I don't know, honestly, I'm telling you, I don't know [if Siewiera was considered as the PSL's presidential candidate] – he added.

12:23

Błaszczak:

Missile Defense Shield Built Despite Tusk's Actions
- Today, the ceremonial opening of the missile defense shield in Redzikowo near Słupsk. I would like to strongly emphasize that the missile defense shield was built not thanks to Donald Tusk, but despite Donald Tusk's actions - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. - Let us recall the history of the entire undertaking. The American initiative to ensure security [...] was undertaken by the Polish side when the Prime Minister of the Polish government was Mr. President Jarosław Kaczyński. [...] Negotiations were conducted by the then Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Witold Waszczykowski - he continued. - After the elections in 2007, when Donald Tusk came to power, the process of slowing down this investment began [...]. Donald Tusk's government [...] multiplied difficulties. In this way, it weakened Poland's position, which threatened the security of our homeland - he went on to say.

12:27

Błaszczak:

Ruling Coalition Has Lost the Moral Authority to Represent Poland's Position in Washington
- The coalition currently governing our country has lost the moral authority to represent Poland's position in Washington. In a situation where Donald Trump won the elections in America, in a situation where an assertive policy towards Russia is being pursued, as was the policy during President Donald Trump's first term - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference.

12:50

Błaszczak on Proposals for Changes to the Health Contribution:

We Won't Be Drawn into Internal Coalition Disputes.
- Regarding the health contribution, we will not allow ourselves to be drawn into these internal disputes within the December 13th coalition. Let them resolve their disputes. If they cannot resolve their disputes, then the government should step down, as that would be the best solution for Poland and Poles – for Donald Tusk's government to resign – said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. "The December 13th coalition is not a serious partner; they cannot agree on a position." - When it comes to the amount of the health contribution, we are, of course, ready to discuss the level of the health contribution for small entrepreneurs. However, this discussion must be conducted seriously. The partner, which is the December 13th coalition, is not a serious partner because they themselves cannot agree on their position within the coalition. So, how can one discuss with unserious people? – he continued.

13:30

Sikorski Responds to Błaszczak:

On Security and Foreign Policy, Polish Elites Remain United. We Act Together.

- The base construction was initiated by Republican President George Bush. Democrat Barack Obama began it, Republican Donald Trump continued it, and it was ultimately completed during the presidency of Democrat Joe Biden. It took some time, but this construction demonstrates the geostrategic consistency of the USA. I have personal satisfaction; on August 20, 2008, I signed an agreement with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice regarding the installation of elements of the missile shield in Poland - says Radosław Sikorski in a recording published on social media, thus responding to the words of Mariusz Błaszczak.

- The negotiations were not easy, but they concluded with an agreement beneficial to the Republic of Poland. I have repeatedly emphasized in conversations with foreign partners that on issues of security and foreign policy, Polish elites remain united. We act together - stressed the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

13:57

Duda on the Redzikowo Base:

The Whole World Will Know This Is Not a Russian Sphere of Influence.

- I will never forget that for the first time in my life, I heard about the idea of building an American missile base in Poland as part of the missile shield in 2008. I was then the youngest minister in the office of the President of the Republic, Professor Lech Kaczyński, and it was Professor Lech Kaczyński who spoke to me about this idea, which was extremely important for Poland's security – stated Andrzej Duda at a press conference.

- This is very important because this American base will be built on our land, in Poland, in its center, and from the moment this base stands here, the whole world will clearly and distinctly see that this is no longer a Russian sphere of influence, and from our point of view, from the Polish point of view, this is strategically the most important thing – he continued.

14:00

Strategically One of the Most Important Events and Occurrences in Post-1989 History". Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Redzikowo Base

- An American destroyer on Polish soil is becoming a reality, an extraordinary event in the history of the security of Poland, the USA, and NATO. It is like a milestone and a cornerstone at the same time. A milestone in missile defense and air defense for all NATO countries, for Europe and the USA - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Redzikowo.

- Through this installation, through the American base in Redzikowo, Europe, the USA, Poland, and NATO are becoming even safer, the most powerful alliance in the modern world. The current conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East prove how important, if not the most important, air and missile defense is - the Deputy Prime Minister continued.

- Therefore, this is a milestone for a safe, modern world, for nations that love peace, justice, goodness, and beauty - emphasized the Minister of National Defence.

- The Redzikowo base means the eternal presence of American and allied troops on the territory of the Republic of Poland, and strategically for Poland, this is one of the most important events and occurrences in its history after 1989 - he noted.

14:04

Kosiniak-Kamysz in Redzikowo: This is a very good foundation for further cooperation with the US administration, with Trump

- This is a very good foundation for further cooperation with the US administration, with President Trump. This is a very important, serious task for us, for which we are ready and we know that it will end with even greater successes - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Redzikowo.

14:05

Kosiniak-Kamysz Thanks Siemoniak and Błaszczak, Among Others:

Jointly Continuing the Work of Strengthening the Polish-American Alliance

- I also thank my other predecessors, everyone, Minister Siemoniak and Minister Błaszczak, for the fact that we could jointly continue this work of strengthening the Polish-American alliance - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Redzikowo.

14:28

Sikorski:

I'm Happy About the Base in Redzikowo and Will Pray It Never Has to Be Used
- The current version of the base can protect not only the territory of the United States, but also the territory of Europe, including Poland. [...] Governments have changed in the United States, governments have changed in Poland, and the base has been built, so this base is a monument not only to the Polish-American alliance and its stability, but also to Polish-Polish unity - said Radosław Sikorski in Redzikowo. - Russia is once again invading its neighbor, which is why this Polish unity, despite political divisions, is even more important. This is a shield of the United States, it is a shield of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, it is also a shield for Poland. [...] I am happy about the establishment of this base and I will pray that it never has to be used - he continued.

16:29

Bocheński:

Rumors of my candidacy's demise are greatly exaggerated

- To paraphrase Mark Twain: rumors of my candidacy's demise are greatly exaggerated - wrote Tobiasz Bocheński on social media.

17:25

Tusk After Talks with NATO Secretary General:

We Have Identical Views on the Global Situation.
As you know, I don't need to convince anyone that we are living in times of very volatile situations and moods. This makes the certainty that NATO, as the pact guaranteeing Poland's security, as well as Secretary General Mark Rutte personally, are like the foundations of this, all the more significant from the perspective of Poland and the entire Polish nation - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference with the NATO Secretary General. - Personal relationships are important, but above all, it is important that we have, I think I can say this, identical views. Not similar, but identical views on the situation in the world, in the region, on this burning border, and with great satisfaction, I received during our long, cordial conversation, words from the Secretary General that indicated a full understanding of both Polish concerns and needs - he continued. As the head of government emphasized: - I also presented our efforts regarding the fortification and strengthening of the border to the Secretary General. This is the border of NATO, the EU, and Poland, in cooperation with the Baltic states and Finland, meaning I am talking about the East Shield and, more broadly, about this northeastern dimension, and I confirmed that Poland will continue to invest both money and effort to ensure this border is an impassable one for potential aggressors or attackers.

17:29

Tusk After Talks with NATO Secretary General on Mobilizing EU Prime Ministers and Presidents:

Nothing About Ukraine Without Ukraine.

- We both share a clear view on this. I will repeat the words I said in Budapest: nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine. I have already made efforts to mobilize EU prime ministers and presidents to make this principle universal. This means that EU member states should ensure that future decisions regarding – God willing – the end of the war or the freezing of the conflict, take place in full agreement and with the participation of the interested states, those from the eastern flank, but above all, Ukraine itself – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference with the NATO Secretary General.

17:56

Hołownia Confirms Election Bid:

I Will Be a Candidate for President of the Republic of Poland.
- In January of next year, I will be a candidate for President of the Republic of Poland. I have decided to run and I have decided to tell you about it here, in Jędrzejów, at this meeting - said Szymon Hołownia at an open meeting in Jędrzejów. - Political parties, these large entities that have emerged on the Polish political scene, always organize big events, big conventions in such situations, where those who will always clap for the candidate arrive. It's safe. As I was coming here, I didn't know if they would clap or not - he continued.

18:02

Hołownia:

I Want to Be an Independent Candidate and an Independent President
- I want to be an independent candidate and an independent president. Someone might say: well, okay, but how independent, if you have a political party, you're in this game, you're on the stage? Listen, yes, I created a wonderful movement, Polska 2050 [...] but I am and will remain independent, because I have no, nor will I have, any Prime Minister who will call me, when I am president, and tell me what to do - said Szymon Hołownia in Jędrzejów. - I will have no party leader who will call me and say: you are a nominated and elected president by the party, therefore do this and that. This is independence, being able to listen to oneself, to one's own convictions, but also, as a result, being able to freely step out and say: I want to listen to the people. I want to be the president of the people, not of a political party - he continued.

18:07

Hołownia:

Traveling Poland, I Hear Complaints. Things Haven't Been Done as They Should Have Been
- Traveling Poland, I hear complaints. Things haven't been done as they should have been done. Some are in progress, others still have to wait, others are happening, and some haven't been touched at all. Listen, does that mean we should stop there? That we should again do the dance from left to right, from wall to wall, for the next X years, as we have done many times before? We deserve more - said Szymon Hołownia in Jędrzejów.

18:19

Hołownia Recalls Circumstances of Previous Presidential Elections and the KO Candidate Change:

They Were Stolen From Us.
- It turned out the way it did because those elections were effectively stolen from us. [...] I was there, and today I am the Marshal of the Sejm, which means I'll be the one calling these elections, so I know roughly how it's done, and I know what it was like back then. The convoluted maneuvering, the change of candidates, the agreement between Civic Platform and Law and Justice, Law and Justice with Civic Platform, that on the second lap it's a different game - said Szymon Hołownia in Jędrzejów.

18:23

Hołownia:

Elections Will Be Called Practically at the Earliest Possible Date
- This time, this process, as it depends on me, will be absolutely transparent. [...] The elections will be called practically at the earliest possible date. So that everyone can conduct a full campaign honestly and openly, and not try to figure out or wonder if it's a pre-campaign or not a campaign, that makes no sense - said Szymon Hołownia in Jędrzejów. - Everyone will know when these elections will take place and there will be no cancellations of these elections on election day - he continued.

18:35

Hołownia on NATO and the Threat from Russia:

We've Always Thought About Ourselves, Will They Come to Defend Us? Today the Question is, Will We Go to Defend Them.
- To my current knowledge and understanding, a kinetic conflict does not threaten us at this moment. Perhaps some NATO countries, particularly from the northern flank, might be threatened in a limited capacity; I'm referring to the Baltic states. In that case, it will require a response from us - said Szymon Hołownia in Jędrzejów. - However, if they decide on a provocation, enter Estonia or Finland by a kilometer, or two, or three, and we've said we won't give up an inch of NATO territory, because otherwise, it's Article Five, right? We've always thought about ourselves, whether they would come to defend us. Today the question is, will we go to defend them - he continued.

18:47

Hołownia's Clear Stance on Periodic Medical Examinations for Hunters:

This is Not Persecution.
- I have never had any desire to shut down hunting... Wise hunting is also needed. However, if, for example, you ask me about specific solutions, such as periodic medical examinations for hunters, I am absolutely in favour. Everyone who has a firearms permit, any kind, must undergo periodic examinations - said Szymon Hołownia in Jędrzejów. - This is not persecution at all, and I believe it is about tidying up the situation, and for the better, because if someone undergoes an examination, it might incidentally reveal something... that will make them reflect later - he continued.

18:58

Hołownia on Talks with PiS Politicians:

I Don't Want to Name Names, They'll Be Called on the Carpet Instantly When Błaszczak Finds Out.
- We will always be open to talks with those who want to think constructively about changing Poland, about development. I don't want to mention the names of these MPs here, because it would be a kiss of death; they'll be called on the carpet instantly when Błaszczak or others find out who I'm talking to, but honestly, not all the ideas there are stupid - said Szymon Hołownia in Jędrzejów.

19:25

Sikorski:

I'd choose Trzaskowski to tour the Museum of Modern Art, but I'm better suited for the Polish Army Museum
It's not a dishonor for anyone that we specialize in different things. If you were choosing a guide to Warsaw and wanted to visit the Museum of Modern Art, even I would pick Rafał Trzaskowski, but if you wanted to visit the Polish Army Museum, I am more suited for that – stated Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Patrycjusz Wyżga on the program Didaskalia.

19:25

Hołownia on the Budget Deficit:

You're So Smart? Then Tell Us What to Cut.
- The deficit is indeed very large. [...] We have to spend 180 billion, 187, on armaments [...]. A little over 220 billion on healthcare, the same amount on the pension system, if not more. 100 billion is the cost of servicing debt from previous years [...]. 800+ is 70 billion, the 13th and 14th pensions are 30 billion - said Szymon Hołownia in Jędrzejów. - We added widow's pensions, raises for public sector employees, raises for teachers, social pensions, the in vitro program. When we add it all up, we get close to that limit [...] When I sometimes listen to some people [...] they say: how could the deficit be inflated so much. I say: are you that smart? Then tell us, what should we cut - he continued.

19:26

Trzaskowski on His Strengths as a Candidate:

My Experience in Recent Campaigns Will Pay Off.

- Unlike PiS, we do not take offense at election results, and just as PiS and President Duda took offense that Joe Biden won the election 4 years ago, we are mature and approach this with absolute calm. Personally, I have very good relations with politicians from both the Democratic and Republican parties – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting with residents.

- This campaign will be unbelievably difficult, ladies and gentlemen. It is already apparent how much manipulation and how much falsehood there will be, we all know this, and how much rudeness there will also be from the other side, because that can also be expected, and I will tell you that my testing in these recent campaigns will truly pay off – he added.

19:26

Trzaskowski Accuses PiS of Favoring Republicans:

We Have an Alliance with the State, Not Just One Administration.

- I am very pleased that we managed to do this together, because without you, without your support, there would be no Campus, that we managed to organize this event right here, because it shows that we are consistent, that we always want to talk with the younger generation and listen to their voice. So many politicians have said that they want to talk to young people, who are, after all, our future, but in reality, very few actually do it, and we are doing it together – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting with residents.

- From the very beginning, we invited experts from both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. These analytical organizations supported us. The Republican Institute on the one hand, the Democratic Institute on the other, because from the very beginning we knew what was most important, that for Poland the alliance with the United States is the most crucial, that we have an alliance with the state, not just one administration – he continued.

19:53

Sikorski on Trump and Future Relations with Republicans:

He doesn't speak Versailles language, but he's no wallflower himself.
Mr. J.D. Vance called Donald Trump an American Hitler, and yet he is today the President-elect. Mr. Marco Rubio was a fundamental critic of Donald Trump, and today he is perhaps a candidate for Secretary of State on behalf of Donald Trump. Donald Trump, how should I put it, well, he doesn't speak the language of Versailles, but he himself is no wallflower either – stated Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Patrycjusz Wyżga on the program Didaskalia. - One needs character, precisely, to tell Donald Trump or someone like him, as I told the Russian ambassador at the Security Council, or even Volodymyr Zelensky regarding Volhynia, what Poland's interest is, right to their face – he added.

19:54

Sikorski:

Russia Cannot Win Against Ukraine, Let Alone NATO
An attack by Russia on NATO would be madness. Russia cannot win against Ukraine, let alone NATO. So it is unlikely, and if it were to happen, we know who would win – stated Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Patrycjusz Wyżga on the program Didaskalia.

20:03

Trzaskowski on Hołownia’s Candidacy:

The Most Important Thing is That We Don’t Attack Each Other and Immediately Support Whoever Reaches the Second Round.
- We were expecting this [announcement of the decision] because Szymon Hołownia has been saying for many months that he would probably run - Rafał Trzaskowski said in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on “Gość Wydarzeń” Polsat News. - The most important thing for me is that we don’t attack each other in the first round, but in the second round, there should be immediate support for the democratic side’s candidate who will face PiS in that second round - he indicated.

20:10

Trzaskowski:

I Deal with Security Daily. It Simply Needs to Be Guarded on the City Streets
- I deal with security on a daily basis, because in all the crises that have happened to us, whether it was the pandemic, when I managed 10 hospitals and 120 clinics in the city, or at the moment the war in Ukraine broke out, when we had to help refugees and prepare the city for every scenario – said Rafał Trzaskowski in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - I simply deal with security every day, I don't talk about it. Security simply needs to be guarded on the city streets – he added. - I have been involved in foreign and European policy for over 20 years. So, I think I have very strong cards when it comes to security issues, and generally, I am a tough person, which I believe all these recent election campaigns have proven – he stated.

20:13

Duda After Meeting with NATO Chief:

I Cannot Imagine Trump Allowing Russia to Destroy Ukraine.

- We know that President Donald Trump, as a person, is a successful man. Certainly, a born fighter, he likes to fight and above all, he dislikes losing. He is a winner, which was also shown in the recent elections in the United States - stated President Andrzej Duda after meeting with the Secretary General of NATO.

- President Donald Trump greatly respects, we also know this – the American taxpayer's money. He has spoken about this many times, he has emphasized it many times. I myself have also heard him many times in the NATO forum, when he spoke about how all these burdens, expenses that the United States undertakes, are money gathered in the United States budget by American taxpayers – it is his duty to respect that money - continued PAD.

"My conclusions are unequivocal”

- If we take this into consideration, if we consider how much the United States has already invested in aid to Ukraine, how gigantic sums have been transferred to the defenders of Ukraine in various forms of combat equipment, financial assistance, so that Ukraine can survive and defend itself, then my conclusions are unequivocal - he emphasized.

"I Cannot Imagine Him Allowing Russia to Destroy Ukraine”

- President Donald Trump, I cannot imagine him allowing Russia to destroy Ukraine, Ukraine, into which the United States, into which the American taxpayer, whose money President Donald Trump will soon be responsible for when he takes office, has invested such enormous amounts. This is a matter of respect for the American taxpayer's money, and it is also a matter that America has become involved, and America does not lose - added PAD.

20:18

Trzaskowski Responds to Sikorski:

All Surveys Clearly Show I Have the Lead
- Please look at all the surveys, by the way, surveys your station has also conducted. They clearly show that I have the lead, that more people want to vote for me – said Rafał Trzaskowski in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News, commenting on Radosław Sikorski’s statement. - When it comes to the conservative electorate, it’s either a tie, or in the undecided electorate or the Confederation electorate, I have a decisive advantage – he continued. - So there’s no point in talking about feelings or potentially asking the PSL, because it’s not the PSL that will choose our candidate in Civic Coalition, but please look at all the surveys. They unequivocally show who has a better chance of winning the presidential election, who is more popular across most electorates – he went on to say.

20:29

Trzaskowski suggests revealing KO's internal research:

They should be ready in the coming days.
- Radek Sikorski himself has often spoken about research being decisive. Moreover, as far as I know, KO is still conducting research. It should be ready within the next few days - said Rafał Trzaskowski in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News. - Let’s wait for this KO research and I hope that it will indeed have a very significant impact on how my colleagues vote - he stated. - I think they will simply be revealed, shown publicly - he added.

Trzaskowski on Primaries: It's Our Internal Matter. With All Due Respect to Kamiński and Giertych – They Are Not Civic Coalition Members
- One thing surprises me. Because these are internal KO elections. And with all due respect to Michał Kamiński, he is not a member of KO, Roman Giertych is also not a member of one of the parties, and he is constantly sending all sorts of reminders to our members – said Rafał Trzaskowski in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - Truly, this is our internal matter, KO's. We make the decisions, not our colleagues, with all due respect to them, who have nothing to do with KO because they are not its members – he emphasized. - They have the right to comment. But I don't choose a candidate for Third Way or PSL. [...] I would suggest leaving this matter to the members of KO – he added.

Sikorski on Exhumations in Volhynia:

I Believe Removing This Issue from the Agenda Serves Ukraine's Interests.

- If Ukraine allowed the exhumation of 100,000 invaders, Wehrmacht soldiers, then why doesn't it allow Poland, Poles, who were, after all, sons of that land and were murdered, to simply do the same. I believe that removing this issue from the agenda of bilateral relations serves Ukraine's interests. Because it is in Ukraine's interest to maintain a friendly attitude towards Ukraine within Polish society – stated Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Patrycjusz Wyżga on the program Didaskalia.

Trzaskowski Harshly Responds to Kamiński's Words:

Repeating PiS Incantations and Untruths is a Violation of All Principles.
- I did not remove any cross from the office; I merely issued a decision that crosses should not be hung in newly opened spaces. There was never any permission given for any parodies [of Holy Mass]. That is simply a lie - Rafał Trzaskowski said on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń," referring to Michał Kamiński's statements. - I understand that friends of Radosław Sikorski from other political parties can of course speak about our internal elections, but they should rather speak about Radek Sikorski's advantages. Then I think someone might listen to their opinion - he assessed. - I will never attack a candidate from Trzecia Droga and PSL, I just believe that we should maintain a friendly neutrality, and in the second round, we should simply support each other - he noted. - And repeating PiS incantations and untruths, that there was some encouragement for parodies, well, that is a violation of all principles, because it is simply untrue. I believe that our colleagues who are associated with the democratic coalition should not repeat PiS manipulations - he emphasized.
