Kosiniak-Kamysz on Trump’s Victory:

I Have No Fears of the Black Scenarios Some Are Presenting

- I congratulate [him/them], I have no fears of the black scenarios some are presenting. And why? Because Poland is allocating 4.7% of its GDP to defense, to security next year - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio Zet.

- Because we are one of the best allies, and in my opinion, the best ally and representative today of this Polish-European-American cooperation within the EU. I also see opportunities to play a very important role - he continued.

08:10

PiS Chants "Donald Trump" in Sejm. Czarnek: Perhaps It Could Have Been Avoided, But It Doesn't Matter
- These are emotions that accompanied the MPs, likely after a morning that was quite interesting and captivating for the entire world. Perhaps it could have been avoided, but it doesn't hold significant importance - said Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News' "Graffiti", when asked by Marcin Fijołek about yesterday's behavior of PiS MPs in the Sejm. - Donald Trump's victory and conservatism in the United States hold immense significance for Poland [...]. However, perhaps those commentators who say it could have been avoided are right - he added.

08:11

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

I See a Huge Opportunity for Poland

- Certainly [an opportunity] to be a bridge between the USA and the EU. Poland has a chance to play an important role. I see a huge opportunity for Poland here - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Radio Zet.

- I have a different opinion on this [than Robert Biedroń]. I believe that if the decision of the American nation is such, then the role of allied states is to accept that decision, not to question who received the votes - he continued.

08:13

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

PSL is the Only Centre-Right Party in the Coalition
In our coalition, the only centre-right party is the PSL. I don't think anyone has any doubts about that – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Radio Zet. - When we talk about going to the USA or hosting guests from the USA, we speak on behalf of the Polish government, not ourselves, if we represent the Polish government. I show where actions should be directed, what we should do, and who can do it best – he continued.

08:15

Kosiniak-Kamysz Debunks Rumors:

Americans Aren't Forming the Government in Poland.
- This is not true [that Americans are urging for a change of alliance in Poland]. Americans are not forming the government in Poland, I would like to state. Secondly, no one from the American side has ever urged us into any coalitions, and that's very good, because it shows respect for our sovereignty - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Radio Zet.

08:17

Czarnek on Trump’s Victory:

This is the beginning of the end of power in Poland.
- There is unbelievable enthusiasm [following Trump’s victory]. […] It's evident that there's a surge of power among voters who simply want to get involved. Yes, this is the beginning of the end of power in Poland too – said Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News’s “Graffiti”. - In Poland, the majority of society is truly conservative, meaning liberal, free-market oriented, but also rooted in its tradition, its values, and Christianity. […] Since in the United States, despite the onslaught of various left-wing and leftist ideologies, Americans largely supported Donald Trump, who is not uncontroversial, it can be exactly the same in Poland – he assessed. - Poland is conservative, it just needs to understand that. I think it has understood that since yesterday morning – he pointed out.

08:18

Kosiniak-Kamysz Repeats Proposal for a Joint Presidential Candidate:

The Situation Has Changed.
"Perhaps this is a good moment to return to the proposal of a joint candidate once again, because the situation has definitely changed. Few predicted President Trump's success, and even fewer predicted such a huge success for the Republicans," stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Radio Zet.

08:26

Czarnek:

If Trump can bring about a swift ceasefire in Ukraine, it's a stroke of luck for Ukraine, Poland, and Europe
- Donald Trump is a guarantor that NATO will be stronger than it is today. Donald Trump is a guarantor that NATO will be stronger in relation to Russia than today. So in what way is he pro-Russian? - said Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News's "Graffiti". - His announcement of ending the war within 24 hours – I understand that as a ceasefire. I do not expect that an agreement on the terms of peace can be reached within 24 hours - he continued. - For me, the most important thing is, I think for the average Ukrainian as well, that the hostilities in Ukraine end. […] Today, every Ukrainian will tell you that innocent Ukrainians are dying every hour, and every hour the war in Ukraine lasts is an hour of loss for the Ukrainian state - he went on. - If Trump is able to bring about a swift ceasefire and the end of hostilities in Ukraine, then that is a stroke of luck for Ukraine, for Poland, and for Europe - he emphasized.

08:27

Kamiński:

"Idiots" advocating for a purely national Europe are inviting a Ribbentrop-Molotov 2.0
- With Trump's victory, the world order is ending [...]. Law and Justice is in a frenzy because of Donald Trump's victory, on the day perhaps the last pro-Polish coalition in Germany collapsed - Michał Kamiński said on "Poranek TOK FM". - These idiots who are celebrating the disintegration of Europe and saying that it's good for Europe to return to a purely national arrangement, without the European Union, are asking for a Ribbentrop-Molotov 2.0 - he continued.

08:31

Kamiński:

Focusing on Worldview Issues in the Presidential Campaign is Asking for Total Defeat
- I believe that focusing on worldview issues in the presidential campaign is asking for total defeat, and the American elections confirm that I am right - said Michał Kamiński on TOK FM. - The issue of the wallet, the style of practicing politics, because that matters - he continued.

08:36

Perhaps Tusk Will Change His Mind. Kamiński on the Scenario of a Joint Presidential Candidate for the Ruling Coalition
- The best candidate for president for a united coalition today is a joint candidate - said Michał Kamiński on TOK FM. - I am genuinely sorry and I don't understand politically why Donald Tusk rejected Kosiniak-Kamysz's proposal [...] a presumed proposal whose key was for us to agree in the first round of the presidential elections - he continued. - After what happened in America, one can see how right Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was, and perhaps Donald Tusk will still change his mind - he went on to say.

08:40

Tusk:

Politics Will Get More Complicated in the Coming Months for Obvious Reasons
US elections will, one way or another, have serious consequences from the perspective of European politics, especially in the area of security. I want to say, because there are many emotions associated with the very spectacular elections in the USA, not only in Poland, primarily in America, but it is a matter of global interest, it is very important for us, and I want to emphasize this once again, that Poland has well-defined and constant interests - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference. "Polish Interests Are Constant" - And Polish national interests, and as the Polish Prime Minister, I want to emphasize this again, these are the criteria, the principles by which I will be guided, and solely by this, meaning how to protect Polish interests regarding both the economy and life in Poland and Polish security, and because we have these Polish interests, they are constant, the situation in the world is changing - he continued. "Politics Will Get More Complicated in the Coming Months for Obvious Reasons" - The US elections show how dynamic this situation is, but our key interests are not changing, and this constancy is the foundation of Polish politics, and I will be guided precisely by these needs of Poland, the interests of Poland. Politics will get more complicated in the coming months for obvious reasons - added the Prime Minister. "This Adds Even More Spice and Salt to the Situation" - We also have a government crisis in our western neighbor, this adds even more spice and salt to the situation, which is why these one-on-one meetings today with the President of France and the Prime Minister of Great Britain are so important to me - he noted.

08:40

Czarnek:

We Must Ask Like Trump – Pole, When Were You Better Off? Now, or Under PiS?
- There are no "center" voters, there are undecided voters and a large group of those undecided voters. But that doesn't mean "ideological center" - said Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News' "Graffiti". - Please note that Trump – and everyone in this social media dispute on our side is right about this: Paweł Jabłoński, Patryk Jaki, Beata Szydło, and Waldemar Buda – absolutely did not back down from his views, his ideological theses, but he certainly didn't speak in a confrontational tone. At many rallies, he calmly spoke about the economy and asked Americans: When were you better off – today […], or four years ago? - he said. As he stated: - We should do exactly the same. The economy in Poland developed, science developed, scientific research developed […] when we were in power. Large infrastructure investments […], but local ones too, were made when PiS was in power. […] We need to say this calmly to Poles: When were you better off, Pole – now, or when PiS was in power? - So, Pole, when were you better off? – we ask, following Trump – he emphasized.

08:45

Tusk:

We will work together with Trump to strengthen Polish-American relations
Donald Trump as a candidate, as a politician, was very controversial for many, but democracy, the verdict of democracy in free elections, which we had in the USA, is sacred, such a result is sacred, so there's no point in speculating about who likes whom more or less in Europe and in the USA - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference. However, we must approach the election results and institutions such as the President of the USA with full respect, and we will also work together with President Trump to strengthen Polish-American relations - he continued.

08:47

Tusk:

One of Poland and Europe's Main Tasks is to Solidify Transatlantic Relations

- Regardless of these personal assessments, one of the main tasks for Poland and Europe is to solidify transatlantic relations. I want to emphasize this very clearly; it is one of Poland's standing interests. If we anticipate certain turns or turbulence in geopolitics and the international situation, then it is all the more important for both Europe and Poland to effectively care for the best possible transatlantic relations - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

08:49

The Polish Trump? 'Look how I'm dressed. I wouldn't want to run, but...'

- Do you feel like the "Polish Trump"? - Marcin Fijołek asked on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- Look how I'm even dressed. I have a red tie on a white shirt and a black jacket. It just so happened - replied Przemysław Czarnek, laughing.

When pressed about his potential presidential run, he stated: - I wouldn't want to, but if it turns out that polls show I have the greatest chance of winning, then in the name of responsibility for the Polish state and for the freedom of Poles - yes.

08:50

Tusk on the Need for Mature Partners:

You Can Have a Glass of Water.
I understand the emotions, each of us is human. Here I am addressing everyone who has influence on public opinion in Poland to cool down. You can have a glass of water, you can realistically assess what has really happened and what is happening. I will need mature partners, mature institutions here in Poland, to consistently conduct Polish politics, regardless of this external dynamic – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

08:51

Czarnek:

If Rachoń Runs for President, I'll Vote for Him. But It's Probably a Rumor
- If Michał Rachoń runs for president, I'll vote for him. But I don't think he will run. I think it's [a rumor] - said Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:52

Tusk Rejects Bartoszewski's Claims and Promises Clarifications:

There was no conversation with Trump.

- There was no such conversation [with President Trump]. This morning I learned that Minister Bartoszewski conveyed such information. I will be clarifying with Minister Bartoszewski where he got that idea - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

09:00

Czarnek on the Constitutional Tribunal's Budget Cut:

Let Berek Cut Whatever He Wants, Preferably for Himself.
- A constitutional coup d'état. This is a fight by this part of the political scene against Polishness and Poland. After all, the Constitutional Tribunal, the Institute of National Remembrance, and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland are very important institutions for the functioning of the Polish state. If you want to cut money from these institutions, it means you are fighting against some part of Poland. This is complete madness by this government – said Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News' "Graffiti". - Let Mr. Berek cut whatever he wants, and preferably for himself. However, the fact that [Constitutional Tribunal rulings] are not being published, and with the intention of not publishing them at all, is a criminal offense that will certainly be accounted for – he emphasized.

09:04

Tusk Responds to Błaszczak's Words:

It's the Polish Voters Who Decide Who Governs in Poland.

- I don't want to use overly strong or harsh words, but it is the Polish voters who decide who governs in Poland. Who governs in the USA is decided by American voters - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

- We will respect, without any problem, for obvious reasons, the democratic verdict in the USA, and sympathies or antipathies have nothing to do with it. We expect the same, but especially from Polish politicians, that they recognize that all countries, even the most powerful, will unequivocally respect the verdict of Polish voters - he continued.

09:10

Siewiera:

Kaczyński Lives in a World Where His People Feed Him False, Manipulated Information
- The Law and Justice party leader, Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński lives in a world where his people feed him untrue things, manipulated information, a distorted view of the world, and because of this, among other things, the President's entourage is treated by him in a way that brings no glory to the right-wing - said Jacek Siewiera in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24. - The elections in the United States, who is there, what the relationship looked like, and who was responsible for it to this day, should prompt the leadership of Law and Justice, because this is not about me, but to deep reflection also on the role that Minister Marcin Mastalerek plays in these relations - he continued.

09:13

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Poland Should Not Shoot Down Missiles Over Ukraine

- No [Poland should not shoot down missiles over Ukraine] - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio Zet.

09:17

Siewiera on Being Asked to Run for President:

Such Talks Did Happen, I Confirm.
- Yes, such talks did happen, I confirm. However, I am a soldier. I have never submitted a request for release from professional military service. I accepted the nomination as head of BBN [National Security Bureau] from the President for a three-year term, as is customary in the armed forces from the Commander-in-Chief, and to my knowledge, no one has discussed this with my superior - Jacek Siewiera said on TVN24, when asked if anyone serious had proposed him running for president. - The place for this conversation is primarily with my superior - he continued, when pressed whether Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz had proposed him running for president with the support of the PSL [Polish People's Party].

09:23

Siewiera on Macierewicz's Tenure at the Ministry of National Defence:

In the National Security Bureau, Those Times are Associated with the Worst Possible.
- I am certainly skeptical about the way the Ministry of National Defence was run at that time [when Antoni Macierewicz was minister] [...] In the National Security Bureau, those times are associated with the worst possible. There are many officers, many employees of the BBN who remember that time very poorly - said Jacek Siewiera on TVN24.

09:43

PiS Files No-Confidence Motion Against Leszczyna:

A Consequence of Healthcare Collapse.
Just moments ago, the PiS parliamentary club filed a motion of no confidence against Minister of Health Izabela Leszczyna. This motion is a consequence of the collapse in healthcare that has occurred after 10 months of the December 13th coalition and after 10 months of Minister Leszczyna’s governance – stated Mariusz Błaszczak at a press briefing in the Sejm. - The minister is incompetent and has squandered the achievements from the PiS government’s era, related to strengthening Polish healthcare. Minister Leszczyna has, for instance, led to the closure of one-third of all maternity wards in Polish hospitals – continued the head of the PiS club.

09:47

Morawiecki Publishes Video:

Tusk in His Full Glory.

- Here is Donald Tusk in his full glory - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media, publishing a compilation of statements made by the head of the Polish government.

10:55

Exchange Between Macierewicz and Tomczyk in the Sejm:

Trzaskowski Said He Won't Pardon You.
- I want to make it absolutely clear to you that Kosiniak-Kamysz's team, Mr. Tomczyk's team, is not a commission that has the right and the obligation to request these materials [from the Smolensk sub-committee] from the Military District Court in Poznań. [...] This was not done, this is a violation of the law and it is a crime and will be reported to the prosecutor's office - stated Antoni Macierewicz during the Sejm debates. "You are not only a fraudster, but also a poor legal scholar" - You are not only a fraudster, but you are also a poor legal scholar, because Article 134 clearly states that court consent is only required when the results of the investigation may be disclosed for purposes other than preventing aviation accidents, exclusively for the needs of pre-trial proceedings, judicial proceedings or administrative judicial proceedings - replied Cezary Tomczyk. - The team [...] was authorized to access all materials collected or produced by the sub-committee determining the circumstances and causes of the accident [...]. Your statement today is not about saying "elements in this report are done poorly", you are saying "why did you show this at all". [...] My intuition tells me that the prosecutor's office will deal with you very quickly - continued the Deputy Minister of National Defence. "Trzaskowski Said He Won't Pardon You" - We need a President of the Republic of Poland who will help us change the law so that you can be held responsible for everything you have done. [...] I spoke with President Trzaskowski and he said that if Poles entrust him with the office of the President of the Republic of Poland, he will not pardon you. You will not be able to count on a pardon, perhaps from Andrzej Duda, but certainly not from the next president - Tomczyk continued. - Your Smolensk lie has collapsed and now it is time for you to be held accountable. [...] You said [...] that you also met with other citizens of the Russian Federation. [...] This is indeed new information for me and this information will also be forwarded to the Internal Security Agency. [...] People say "agent or madman?" and I want to tell you: certainly not a madman - added the Deputy Minister of National Defence. "Acting for Putin" - This propaganda of lies and deception, which has been conveyed here by Mr. Tomczyk, has one, single function: it is acting for Mr. Putin, it is an action whose function is to ensure that Poland has no right to investigate Russian crimes - stated Antoni Macierewicz. - You are talking about Putin today? [...] It wasn't me who met with citizens of the Russian Federation, it was you. It wasn't citizens of the Russian Federation who fled across the land border from Kaliningrad after meeting with me, it was after meeting with you - replied Cezary Tomczyk.

12:05

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Have Very Good Contacts with All Sides of the US Political Scene

- We have very good contacts with all sides of the US political scene, with Democrats and Republicans, with Republicans and Democrats, with President Biden's administration and – I deeply believe – that good years of cooperation await us with President Trump's administration – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

- I clearly indicated that the role of a center-right party, which the PSL is, and the fact that today it is my party that is responsible for the Ministry of Defence, is only a good sign that cooperation with the American right, the center-right, through a center-right party from Poland can be as good as possible – he continued.

12:09

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Siewiera's Words:

It's Hard to Disagree.

- It's hard to disagree with Minister Siewiera's words [regarding Antoni Macierewicz], and if they come from the vicinity of the Presidential Palace, the opposition party should reflect even more, and I am surprised that to this day it has not distanced itself from Antoni Macierewicz's actions - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

12:28

Tusk Discusses Matters with Zelensky

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, during a meeting of the European Political Community and an informal session of the European Council in Budapest, held a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as announced on social media.

13:08

Błaszczak Calls on Tusk to Explain His Words About Trump:

A Matter of Great Caliber.

- The accusations Donald Tusk has leveled against Donald Trump are a matter of great caliber. He should immediately explain these words. Polish-American relations are at stake - Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on social media.

14:53

Sikorski:

Klich to Head Poland's Mission in Washington

- We do not comment publicly on personnel matters, particularly technical ones, such as who is going where and when. Ambassador Klich will head Poland's mission in Washington - stated Radosław Sikorski at a press conference.

15:00

Sikorski on US Elections:

I Have Praised Trump Many Times.
I believe there will be a change. Elections have consequences. We will now have a more substantial, more unambiguous language, and a firmer stance on certain important matters. Please review, for example, my statements from the past few months - stated Radosław Sikorski at a press conference. - I have actually praised President Trump many times, not only for saying that NATO alliance states should spend more on armaments, but I also praised his firm, emphatic style, because when diplomacy was used, it did not reach some in Europe - the Minister of Foreign Affairs continued. - It started to sink in, countries began to spend more on defence, but still not enough, so yes, it will be a change in tone. But I prefer Christ's speech, let your 'yes' be 'yes' and your 'no' be 'no' - he added.

15:17

Glapiński on higher inflation due to energy price hikes:

We warned about this.

- The current rise in inflation is not a surprise to us. Because it results primarily from a strong increase in energy prices. It was clear that if energy prices were raised, inflation would clearly increase. We warned about this well in advance - stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

15:25

Glapiński:

Sources of Elevated Inflation Are Entirely Independent of NBP Policy

- The sources of elevated inflation are entirely independent of monetary policy, of NBP policy, of interest rates, and all other elements of monetary policy. These are external factors, these are factors resulting from administrative and regulatory decisions. However, core inflation, which is inflation excluding food and energy prices, is also elevated – stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

16:04

Glapiński on NBP's Flood Relief Efforts:

We've Opened Our Holiday Resort in Zakopane for Children.

- The National Bank of Poland has launched various forms of assistance for the flood-affected population. As you know, we have made our bank vehicles available, and we have also opened our only holiday resort, 'Bankowiec' in Zakopane - said Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

16:10

Statement from Tusk, Macron, and Scholz:

Until Georgia Changes Its Course, We Cannot Support the Opening of Accession Negotiations.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have issued a joint statement regarding the situation in Georgia.

We reiterate our concern regarding the conduct of the parliamentary elections in Georgia in light of the preliminary findings published by the international election observation mission. Of particular concern are reports of numerous irregularities and instances of voter intimidation, which have negatively impacted public trust in the process.

"We call for a swift examination of complaints and reports of irregularities"

We call for a swift examination of all complaints and reports of irregularities related to the elections in a transparent manner, and we will thoroughly review the final report of the international observation mission once it is published.

We support the democratic and European aspirations of the Georgian people. The right to participate in peaceful assemblies and freedom of expression are fundamental rights of democratic societies, and therefore must be protected and respected.

"The European Council has noted Georgia's deviation from the European path"

We call for an open dialogue with all political forces and civil society organizations to achieve this goal. Prior to the parliamentary elections held on October 26, the European Council had noted Georgia's deviation from the European path and called for free and fair elections.

Until Georgia changes its current course and undertakes concrete reform efforts, including in particular the repeal of new legislation contrary to European values and principles, we will not be able to express support for the opening of accession negotiations with Georgia.

18:14

Magierowski:

Formally, until the President signs my resignation, I remain Poland's Ambassador to Washington
- There is, of course, a dispute over who is and who is not an ambassador and to what extent the President has influence here on ambassadorial appointments and dismissals. Indeed, formally, until the President signs my resignation, I remain Poland's Ambassador to Washington, although I won't hide that for me personally, it's not a very comfortable situation or a very comfortable position - Marek Magierowski said in an interview on the 'Rymanowski Live' channel. - I care about both centers of power reaching an agreement on this matter. It's not just about my situation, but also about many other ambassadors, including those who have been selected, nominated for their positions in various capitals around the world and will go there, or have already gone there, as heads of missions - he continued. - This dispute certainly [...] does not positively impact the realization of Poland's raison d'état, to put it grandly - he went on to say.

18:19

Trzaskowski:

Maintaining good relations with Republicans and Democrats is crucial for our national interest. I've been doing this my whole life.
- The most important thing for our national interest is to maintain good relations with both Republicans and Democrats. I have been doing this my whole life; when we organized Campus Polska Przyszłości, we made sure to include foundations that supported Democrats as well as foundations that advised Republicans. This is what national interest is about – having good relations with everyone who can make key decisions for us – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a meeting in Lublin.

18:23

Magierowski on Tusk's statement about Trump:

I am probably even more astonished than indignant.
- We can also, of course, refer [...] to Prime Minister Tusk's statement from a year and a half ago also about President Donald Trump, whom he accused of being a Russian agent, such an insinuation was made in his statement - Marek Magierowski said in an interview on the "Rymanowski Live" channel. - I am probably even more astonished than indignant by his statement, because he is a person, much like Minister Klich for that matter, with very long political experience, a huge baggage, both in a positive and negative sense of the word [...] undoubtedly one of the most important political figures in Poland, but probably also in Europe, regardless of what we think of his policies, of his vision - he continued. - I am astonished that he did not adapt to certain rules of the game when it comes to political language. He is not a diplomat, he has never been an ambassador, he has never been a Minister of Foreign Affairs, but [...] being an extremely important politician on the international stage, he should remember that certain things are not said, certain red lines are not crossed - he went on to say.

18:26

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

No Plans to Reinstate Military Conscription

- There are no plans to reinstate conscription [to the military]. It is suspended, and today we are not complaining about the number of volunteers joining the army - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on RMF FM.

18:28

Trzaskowski on the Tusk Government-Trump Administration Relations Regarding Security:

I am absolutely calm.
- Donald Trump, Ambassador Georgette Mosbacher, who represented the Trump administration in Warsaw for years, spoke about it. I spoke with her after the elections, and she said one thing, which she later confirmed in the media: that President Trump knows very well what role Poland plays in the European Union today, Poland under Donald Tusk – that it is a leader and plays a leading role – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a meeting in Lublin. - Trump also said many times [...] that generally speaking, one should always help those states that take responsibility for security into their own hands. And today Poland spends almost 5% of its GDP on the army. [...] That is why I am absolutely calm that we will be able to talk tough about security also with Donald Trump's administration – he continued.

18:30

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

A centrist president has a much better chance of defeating PiS than a radically left-wing candidate

- I believe that a centrist president certainly has a much better chance of defeating PiS than a radically left-wing candidate - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on RMF FM.

- As Third Way, we will propose Szymon Hołownia - he continued.

18:32

Trzaskowski Sarcastically Responds to Błaszczak's Statement:

He's Demonstrating the Mentality of a Lackey, He Probably Hasn't Gotten Off His Knees in Recent Years.
However, I'll tell you honestly, when I hear Mariusz Błaszczak, or other PiS dignitaries, who claim that the moment Trump wins, Donald Tusk's government should resign, then I wonder if this gentleman knows what he's talking about, because for years he's been talking about Poland being sovereign, pursuing a firm policy, and here he is demonstrating the mentality of a lackey – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting in Lublin. From the lips of a politician who spoke about how important sovereignty is, one would want to say that he probably hasn't gotten off his knees in these past few years – he added.

Magierowski Critiques PiS MPs Chanting Trump's Name:

Enough Praising Poland.
- I didn't like it - Marek Magierowski said in an interview on the "Rymanowski Live" channel, when asked if he liked the PiS MPs chanting "Donald Trump" in the Sejm. - We are talking about the election [...] of a new president [...] of our most important ally, but this chanting of his name in the Sejm by some or most PiS MPs had the character, the taste of a tribute indeed. I think that enough praise for Poland, given our rather convoluted, complicated history, is enough - he continued. - Regardless of whether it was a tribute paid to the President of the United States, or a tribute paid to the Chancellor of Germany. [...] Let's imagine that Olaf Scholz wins the election and suddenly some of our MPs at some point stand up and chant his name in the Polish parliament. [...] An equally absurd situation - he went on to say.

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Bill on Decriminalization of Abortion:

I Believe It Can Be Improved in Committee.

- Everyone decides individually in the Polish People's Party (PSL). There is no party discipline here. Everyone uses their own reason and knows what decision to make. Regarding referring it for committee work, it seems to me that, as before, it will be sent to committee. It has already been sent to committee once - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on RMF FM.

- I believe it can be improved in committee, and many people may vote for it tomorrow or abstain from voting, as it was before. These votes will likely be divided within the PSL - he continued.

18:37

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Presidential Elections:

Of Course the PiS Candidate Has a Chance.

- Of course he has a chance [for the PiS candidate to win the election]. If anyone today claims that the PiS candidate has no chance, we don't know his name yet, I recommend they recall 2014, because I still see it before my eyes, the moment Andrzej Duda's candidacy was announced - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on RMF FM.

18:39

Magierowski:

I have no intention of running for president
- No, I have no intention of running for president - said Marek Magierowski in an interview on the "Rymanowski Live" channel. - There were no talks, literally zero, there were no suggestions or proposals, negotiations, no contact from the leadership of this or that party, the Presidential Chancellery, nothing, absolutely nothing - he continued. - The answer would be similar. [...] I always respond "yes" to every invitation from Mr. Jarosław Kaczyński; I would be very pleased to meet him. [...] I would respond: Mr. Chairman, thank you very much for the offer, but I cannot accept it - he continued, when asked what he would say if Jarosław Kaczyński invited him for a meeting and asked during it if he would accept the proposal to run for president.

Trzaskowski Criticizes the German Government:

That's Probably Why It's Falling Apart.
- Does everyone know so well that problems cannot be solved without us? It turns out that Donald Trump knows this and spoke loudly about it, that he will always cooperate with those who take responsibility for security into their own hands. The German government recently had a problem with this, because [...] they did not invite Donald Tusk to a summit that was to be dedicated to Ukraine - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a meeting in Lublin. - That's probably why it's falling apart, because it hasn't been able to fully sense what's happening in Europe. But without being malicious, today we must draw the most important conclusions from what is happening in the world. One of these conclusions is strengthening European policy. [...] We must ensure that the EU's defense policy is as strong as possible - he added.

18:45

Trzaskowski on Running for Election:

I am Ready to Face All Challenges.

- I will tell you one thing, I can speak for myself: I will not give up. I am determined, I am ready to face all challenges, as soon as KO makes a decision, we will all focus on hard work – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a meeting in Lublin.

18:59

Trzaskowski:

If I were ever responsible, Macierewicz would certainly not be pardoned
- Today I was listening to the parliamentary debate and my hair stood on end because I heard that Minister Macierewicz is meeting with some Russian citizens who then traveled across the border to Kaliningrad. It is unknown what he discussed with them about, or what he needed them for - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a meeting in Lublin. - Minister Tomczyk told Mr. Macierewicz that he should not be a Member of Parliament and that there are motions directed to the prosecutor's office. And I will tell you one thing: if I were ever responsible for this, one thing is certain: Macierewicz will certainly not be pardoned - he stated.

19:04

Trzaskowski:

We Must Be Like One Fist, Just Like Trump in the Presidential Election
- Today, we must be like one fist, exactly like Trump in the presidential election. Whether we like it or not, we need to utilize effective models. To communicate a clear message, to speak decisively. [...] To simply tell people directly about the threats - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a meeting in Lublin. - You know me, I am a balanced person, but generally speaking, truth must be clear, because you can only fight lies with truth. To address the issues that concern citizens clearly - he continued.

Compensation for Resignation? Magierowski: It Wasn't a Million Zloty, It Wasn't a Claim or a Demand
- Firstly, it certainly wasn't a million zloty, so I can ask all those who are spreading this amount why they are misleading public opinion - said Marek Magierowski in an interview on the "Rymanowski Live" channel, when asked about a million zloty in compensation for signing a resignation. - I don't remember the exact amount, but it's an amount [...] which is the salary of the Polish Ambassador in Washington from the moment I was recalled from this position until the end of my four-year term - he continued. - Roughly speaking [I calculated how much I would earn], but one thing is important in this whole story, namely that it is neither a claim nor a demand. I think, and I state this with pain and regret, but Minister Sikorski deliberately used this phrasing to muddy the waters a bit, to obscure the picture - he went on to say. - It was a proposal to terminate the agreement by mutual consent, which also included information that if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not agree to these terms, then of course I was prepared to negotiate them and to remain in office, to continue performing my duties - he added.

20:32

Sikorski:

Poland is doing what Trump previously demanded – we spend the most in NATO, we buy American equipment
- Poland has excellent relations [with the United States] regardless of who is in power, whether in Washington or Warsaw. Certain matters will be clearly stated – said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz on TVP Info's "Question of the Day". As he stated: - Poland is currently doing what Donald Trump previously demanded. We spend the most in NATO on defense, we buy American equipment, we are already paying for American nuclear technology. But others in Europe will have trouble with this, because President Trump doesn't mince words. I hope everyone learns from this.

Trump Promises a Swift End to the War. Sikorski: We Will Keep Our Fingers Crossed, Respecting Ukraine's Interests, of Course
- Poland insists that all decisions regarding Ukraine be made with Ukraine's participation - stated Radosław Sikorski on TVP Info's "Question of the Day". - Indeed, [Donald Trump has made] a very strong and bold public commitment regarding the swift end to the war in Ukraine. We will keep our fingers crossed. Respecting Ukraine's interests, of course - he emphasized.

20:48

Sikorski on Bartoszewski’s words:

A slip of the tongue, a mistake. He apologized.
- It was a slip of the tongue by the minister [Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski], for which he has already apologized - said Radosław Sikorski in TVP Info's "Pytanie dnia" (Question of the Day), when asked about the yesterday's statement by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, which was denied by the Prime Minister today. - I spoke with the minister. He saw in the media that Donald Tusk congratulated Donald Trump. It occurred to him that this meant a conversation must have taken place, and he congratulated him on social media - he explained. - A mistake. He apologized - he added.

21:10

Sikorski on Tarczyński’s Words:

Inciting the Trump Administration Against the Polish Government? I Don’t Like It.

– Does PiS, in your opinion, not play into Donald Trump boycotting Poland? Because some politicians are even publicly admitting that they brought quotes from Polish government politicians’ statements about Donald Trump to Trump’s campaign staff – asked Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz in TVP Info’s “Question of the Day”.

– It seems to be about one of the MEPs – stated Radosław Sikorski.

– Your [Dominik] Tarczyński’s – the host clarified.

– This is scandalous and such great hypocrisy, because not so long ago they themselves spoke of “denouncing Poland”, and they meant the debate in the European Parliament, which is also our parliament. So, such incitement of the new administration against the Polish government? I don’t like it – stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

21:22

Sikorski on Applebaum’s Remarks about Trump:

A Wife is Not an Extension of Her Husband.

- Your wife, the distinguished publicist Anne Applebaum, also sharply criticized Trump. I don't know if you are aware, but some Civic Platform politicians even claim that this will prevent you from competing for a presidential nomination at this moment – stated Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz on TVP Info's “Question of the Day.”

- But, Madam Editor, you surely do not believe that a wife is an extension of her husband? – Sikorski retorted.

- Absolutely not. That's why I'm quoting your colleagues, who claim that since she had very good relations – and still does – with Democrats, you were careful, but your wife was not, this could affect these relations – the host continued.

- My wife is a distinguished historian and publicist. Also in the American context. Besides, in the past, she also voted for Republicans – commented the politician.

21:34

"We're Neck and Neck with Trzaskowski." Sikorski on "New Polls"
- There are new polls showing that we are going neck and neck [with Rafał Trzaskowski]. In the first round, the difference is half a percent, and in the second round - the difference is within the margin of statistical error - said Radosław Sikorski in "Question of the Day" on TVP Info.

21:51

Sikorski on His Chances in the Election:

I’ve Been to Wars…
- Very turbulent times, a war on our borders, we need to push that war and Putin away from our borders – so international experience, especially in the field of security, is very useful. And we also need a president who understands both conservative and liberal sensibilities, but also who understands the perspective of provincial Poland, not just the metropolitan areas – said Radosław Sikorski on TVP Info’s “Question of the Day”. - The elections in the United States are also a new element, as they show that a tougher policy is coming and that the world is shifting to the right – he assessed. - So, do you have a better chance [than Rafał Trzaskowski] because you are tougher? – asked Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz. - I’ve been to wars, I worked at a conservative institute in Washington, I also have friends from those times, relationships with the military – he replied.
