Today, a two-day European Council summit begins in Brussels, where EU leaders will discuss Ukraine, the Middle East, competitiveness, migration, and foreign affairs. Prime Minister Donald Tusk will participate in the deliberations. Also today, a meeting of the defense ministers of NATO member states will take place at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, with Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in attendance. As part of his visit, the head of the Ministry of National Defence will hold a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from, among others, Lithuania, Latvia, France, Italy, Albania, and Luxembourg, and will also sign two letters of intent. Furthermore, today, the President of Switzerland, Viola Amherd, will commence a two-day visit to Poland. The welcoming ceremony by President Andrzej Duda at the Presidential Palace is scheduled for 4:30 PM. At 4:45 PM, the presidents will hold a one-on-one meeting. Later, they will co-chair plenary talks between the delegations of both countries, which will begin at 5:15 PM. A press conference with Duda and Amherd is scheduled for 5:50 PM. The Sejm will resume its deliberations at 9:00 AM with current affairs questions. At 11:15 AM, at the request of Civic Coalition (KO), there will be a briefing on the challenges of an aging society in the context of elder care. At 12:45 PM, the deputies will proceed to the second reading of the government's draft amendment to the excise tax law, which concerns an increase in the tax rate on tobacco products, heated tobacco products, and e-cigarette liquid. Subsequently, at 2:15 PM, they will address an amendment to the same law submitted by PiS. The party's deputies wish to introduce a zero excise tax rate on cider and perry with a specified alcohol content. At 3:30 PM, the first reading is scheduled for a draft amendment to the law on special solutions related to the removal of flood consequences, prepared by PiS. The proponents propose allowing taxpayers to deduct from their CIT or PIT tax base amounts corresponding to 200% of the value of donations intended for flood victims, within designated timeframes. At 9:30 AM, in the town of Niemirów in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, a press conference will be held by the Minister of the Interior and Administration, Tomasz Siemoniak, Deputy Minister Czesław Mroczek, and Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defence, Cezary Tomczyk. The topic will be the modernization of border security. At 9:00 AM, a press conference by PiS deputies Katarzyna Sójka, Przemysław Czarnek, and Czesław Hoc is scheduled. Following that, at 11:30 AM, a conference will be held by Zbigniew Kuźmiuk, Janusz Kowalski, and Olga Semeniuk-Patkowska.

Szefernaker:

Duda's Incisive Strike at the Ruling Coalition

- Certainly, President Duda's speech, which summarized the year since the October 15th elections, was very incisive. Today, the ruling coalition, which has lost its parliamentary majority, completely fails to cope with many problems and seeks diversionary tactics - stated Paweł Szefernaker on Radio Wnet.

- An incisive strike at the ruling coalition, given that Prime Minister Tusk later took the podium. I certainly think that yesterday many Poles could have heard the truth about this, and many were also waiting for this truth, a year after the elections, after which PiS could no longer form a majority in parliament - the PiS politician continued.

07:57

A Certain Trend Persists." Szefernaker: A Year After the Elections, PiS Returns to the Top of the Polls

- A year after the elections, PiS is returning to the top of the polls, and a certain trend has been observed in the last week indicating this rule. And reaching people with a message like the one President Duda delivered yesterday, so politically, it adds a certain new wind and begins a new phase in the functioning of the opposition – stated Paweł Szefernaker on Radio Wnet.

07:58

Szefernaker:

We Want to Show We Are the Only Alternative

- Today, we want to show that we are the only alternative. We are convinced that we are the only alternative, and we will persuade people of our program, of our arguments - stated Paweł Szefernaker on Radio Wnet.

08:05

Czarzasty:

It's with MP Żukowska that she says out loud what many people think but don't say aloud
- With MP Żukowska, it's that she says out loud what many people think but don't say aloud. [...] I think she meant a situation where, in fact, we didn't celebrate this anniversary together in any way, because there was no joint meeting - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News's "Graffiti," commenting on the words of the head of the Left parliamentary club, who assessed that the anniversary of the elections had not been successful for the coalition. - The reason it didn't happen is that everyone is busy, everyone has their own political plans, but of course, some meeting could have been organized. This anniversary falls, to be honest, between October 15th and December 13th, so anything can happen - he stated.

08:09

Szefernaker:

PiS Candidate Must Be Presented by Year-End to Reach Poles with Program and Message
The presidential campaign is such that to win it and convince Poles, especially in the current media landscape, it must last longer rather than shorter - stated Paweł Szefernaker on Radio Wnet. Therefore, this candidate [PiS for president] must be presented by the end of the year, so they have a chance to reach Poles with their program, their message, and to be able to win these elections - he continued.

08:11

Szefernaker:

Tusk Introduced the Asylum Topic, Which De Facto Isn't a Problem in Poland Today. It's a Substitute Topic
Donald Tusk introduced the asylum topic, which de facto isn't a problem in Poland today, and which doesn't concern illegal immigration. Well, but it is a substitute topic. Breathalyzers, many other various substitute topics, and meanwhile, Poles have higher bills, they are already paying almost 10 PLN for butter, they see that, for example, State Agricultural Holdings are incurring losses today, whereas a year ago they brought profits. There are many other issues that need to be discussed with Poles, close to the people – stated Paweł Szefernaker on Radio Wnet.

08:13

Czarzasty Assesses the Last 10 Months:

The Left is Satisfied with Functioning in the Coalition.
- I am denying any potential rumors along the lines of: someone has argued with someone, or that the coalition is in some kind of trouble, or that there will be problems with this coalition. There won't be - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said on Polsat News’ “Graffiti.” - Things are difficult, there are many difficult issues. These are budgetary matters, they are matters of implementing program points of various four parties. Some are satisfied - please look at me - he continued. - I represent the Left. The Left, by introducing the widow's pension, securing funds for social housing, meaning these two basic issues of ours, plus the matter related to the definition of rape, and the issue of in vitro - he listed. He stated: - For these 10 months, we are satisfied with functioning in this coalition and we are a very stable element.

08:26

Czarzasty on Suspending the Right to Asylum:

The Prime Minister Changed the Narrative, We're Waiting for the Law.
- We add "preserve humanity" to the slogan "regain control, ensure security" and say: let's not go crazy. I will not agree, and the formation I represent also does not agree to suspend the issuance of asylum in Poland altogether - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in Polsat News' "Graffiti". - This narrative is changing. Because 3 days ago it was clearly stated: we will not grant asylum at all temporarily. Yesterday I heard a version titled: we will not allow criminals to apply. […] We will wait to see what the provisions of this law will be and we will react to it, because I have the impression that the stance is evolving - he indicated. - The Prime Minister has changed the narrative on this matter. I believe we need to wait for the final stance of the officials and the documents in this case - he stressed.

08:34

Sawicki on Duda's Address:

Unfortunately, It Was Only About Divisions.
- I expected from the President, despite everything, at the end of his second term, [...] that in this address he would find a few elements that would touch upon attempts at unification, building, and development. Unfortunately, it was only about divisions. The issue of defense, that was all that was raised - said Marek Sawicki in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

08:34

Czarzasty 'Speaks Extremes' and Warns: Introducing an Asylum Ban in Poland Could Harm Us
- I am warning – and I am not trying to scare anyone – I am genuinely warning against a situation where introducing an asylum ban in our country could do us harm. […] If, God forbid, Ukraine is occupied by Russia and, God forbid, Russia crosses our borders and some people – children, mothers – are fleeing – and rightfully so – then if we hear that Germany, France, Spain, Austria have suspended asylum, what then? – Włodzimierz Czarzasty said on Polsat News's "Graffiti". - I know I'm speaking at the extreme, but if we don't grant asylum, then Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, I understand, won't receive it? – he added.

08:39

Sawicki:

The Green Deal is like a great Yeti, which can be used to scare people, but practically no one knows it
- The Green Deal [...] it's like a great Yeti, which can be used to scare people, but practically no one knows it. I am convinced that 95% of agricultural organization activists did not know what the Green Deal was. And instead of using the last two years to introduce elements related to obtaining cheaper renewable energy for one's own needs, but also for the needs of neighbors [...] unfortunately, there was a complete blockade here - said Marek Sawicki in RMF FM. - I am talking about agricultural biogas, which can be produced from waste and byproduct products of agriculture - he continued.

08:48

Sawicki on the Government's Successes and Failures:

Entrepreneurship and the Rule of Law Have Practically Not Been Touched.
- The two most important elements that have been achieved are the easing, at least in public perception, of the threats associated with the Green Deal [...]. The strikes have been quelled; Czesław Siekierski did that. Furthermore, the Ukrainian border is fully open, and everyone said there was no way to stop it, yet Czesław Siekierski [...] managed to reach an agreement where quotas and customs duties were reintroduced, and that problem no longer exists - Marek Sawicki said on RMF FM. - The second thing [...] is the issue of the entire defense policy. However, there is an agreement between the President and Kosiniak-Kamysz and Prime Minister Donald Tusk; defense spending has increased; contracts signed by Minister Błaszczak are being continued, but new contracts are also being concluded, including those within the Polish Armaments Group. [...] No one has stopped CPK - he continued. - Entrepreneurship and the issue of the rule of law are two elements that have practically not been addressed over the past year - he added.

08:49

Czarzasty Appeals to Zandberg:

Let Him Decide Where He's Going. This Has Been Going on for a Year.
- The Together party – my close friends, we have been together in the parliamentary club for 5 years – is before the following decision. […] They have to answer the question: do they want to take responsibility for Poland's future, or do they want to be in opposition – Włodzimierz Czarzasty said on Polsat News’ “Graffiti”. - If they want to be in opposition, then the place for opposition is in the opposition, there's PiS, Konfederacja. If they want to be in the democratic camp, which after what has happened over 8 years, is trying to change Poland – they can be here – he said. - Adrian Zandberg should one day stand up and make a decision on this matter […]. There will be no ultimatum, I am not going to decide for Adrian – he emphasized. - But I have a really big request: let him decide something, this has been going on for a year. […] One has to get up in the morning and make a decision: where are we going? – he appealed.

08:56

Sawicki:

We Won't Shorten Doctor Waiting Lists When Every District Has a Large County Hospital
- I expect Minister Leszczyna to stop us from talking only and exclusively about money for the National Health Fund (NFZ), and to talk about the structure of healthcare in Poland - Marek Sawicki said on RMF FM. - Nobody wants to undertake the restructuring of the healthcare system in Poland. If we don't do this, I assure you, we will achieve nothing in healthcare. We won't shorten doctor waiting lists when we have a situation where every district has a large county hospital - he continued. - My district has 55,000 inhabitants. 330 beds, 11 departments, and 30 kilometers away is a large provincial hospital in Siedlce [...] around it are 6 districts. These 6 districts, these 6 hospitals should be under the single management of the provincial hospital, and it should be the provincial hospital that decides which hospital has which department and which is kept - he went on to say.

08:57

Czarzasty:

The Problem with Zandberg is that if we gave 10% for health, he'd want 12%. If it were 12%, he'd want 14%.
- Do you know what the problem with my great friend Adrian Zandberg is? The problem is that if we gave 10% for health, he would say we need to give 12%. If we gave 12%, he would say: we need to give 14% - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

09:00

Sawicki on whom the PSL will field or support in the presidential elections:

There are several candidates.
- There are several candidates whom the Polish People's Party will either field or support – Marek Sawicki said on RMF FM. - There is a significant group of candidates worth considering. [...] We have often said that if Szymon Hołownia expresses a desire to run, we do not rule out supporting him – he continued.

09:04

Sawicki on Tusk's Presidential Bid:

He Won't Want To, But He'll Have To.
- I suspect that Nawrocki was put forward for that reason, not another PiS candidate, to show high support for Rafał Trzaskowski, who, I assure you, will not run anyway - Marek Sawicki said on RMF FM. - If yesterday it was already stated by Civic Platform that there are 5 candidates, and among the 5, who is the most important? There is only one important person in Civic Platform - he continued. - He won't want to [run, Donald Tusk], but he will have to, because unfortunately the others will not promise good election results - he went on to say.

09:09

Czarzasty on taking the Speaker’s position:

I don’t expect the coalition agreement to be broken, because there are consequences.
- This is a coalition agreement. None of the four larger or smaller forces that signed the coalition agreement have broken it to this day. I do not expect us to want to break the coalition agreement - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said on Polsat News’s “Graffiti,” when asked whether, according to earlier arrangements, he would become Marshal of the Sejm halfway through the term. - If anyone wanted to break the coalition agreement – there are consequences afterwards. That means everything. The consequences of breaking the coalition agreement mean there is no coalition agreement. Therefore, I think there is no one among our four so brave as to dismantle the state - he continued.

10:12

Siemoniak on the border situation:

Investment in the barrier is yielding results.
- Every day we are still dealing with attempts to illegally cross into the territory of the Republic of Poland; September was unfortunately a worse month in this regard, this trend from June has worsened, there were more such attempts - said Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference. - We believe that the investment in this barrier is yielding results, we are halfway through its construction and we are not recording cases of illegal crossings where this barrier has been secured. Unfortunately [...] previously, it was enough to use a crowbar and a few dozen seconds to illegally cross the border - he continued.

10:16

Mroczek:

This Year We Record an Average of 100 Attempts to Cross the Polish-Belarusian Border Daily
- This year, we are recording an average of 100 attempts daily to cross this [Polish-Belarusian] border. These are not people fleeing persecution by the Belarusian and Russian regimes; these are individuals attempting to enter Poland and the European Union with the support of the Belarusian and Russian regimes - said Czesław Mroczek at a press conference.

10:21

Mroczek on the Details:

We Will Have New Border Guard Units Dedicated to Physical Border Protection.
- This amendment to the Border Guard Act has introduced the possibility of contract service, and based on this, we will be building units within the Border Guard, within the structures of the Border Guard, dedicated to the direct, physical protection of the state border - said Czesław Mroczek at a press conference. - The recruitment process for these units will begin in a few weeks, followed by training, and in the second half of next year, here on the border, we will have new Border Guard units specifically dedicated to the physical and direct protection of the border - he continued.

10:28

Tomczyk:

We Are Eager for Border Protection Issues to Be Included in NATO and EU Documents
- Poland will unequivocally defend its borders. Both concerning threats from Russia and Belarus, these hybrid threats, as well as military threats. The state border is sacred [...] the border at which we stand is also the border of the European Union and the border of the North Atlantic Alliance - said Cezary Tomczyk at a press conference. - That is why we are so eager for these issues concerning border protection to also be included in NATO and EU documents - he continued.

12:08

Tusk After Meetings in Brussels:

I Achieved Understanding.
- I've essentially met with all the most important players. What I wanted to achieve on this matter, I have achieved, primarily understanding. It's not about suspending the right to asylum, but about a temporary, territorial suspension of accepting applications where the border is crossed illegally, forcefully, and therefore on the Belarusian border - Prime Minister Donald Tusk told journalists in Brussels. "It Went Easier Than I Expected" - Everyone here understands this, and no one has a problem with acknowledging Poland's right to temporarily suspend the submission of asylum applications, and everyone also understands how specific the situation is when hostile regimes are involved in human smuggling, as is the case with Belarus and Russia, that this is a completely different issue, so I must say that, between us, it went easier than I expected - the Prime Minister continued. "There Will Be No Negative Decisions Regarding Our Ideas" - I will make decisions in the country; I am not waiting for decisions here. For me, it was important that there would be no negative decisions regarding our ideas, and there certainly won't be - the head of the Polish government further stated.

16:53

Morawiecki:

We Must Fight Another Battle for Poland's Security

- Today we must fight another battle for Poland's security, our sovereignty, and our right not to accept illegal immigrants - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media.

18:27

Bodnar on KO’s Presidential Candidate:

The Discussion is Likely Still Centered Around Two Names.
- I think the discussion is likely still centered around these two candidates, [...] namely Rafał Trzaskowski and Radosław Sikorski. Both have excellent predispositions for fulfilling this honorable office [of President of Poland]. Both have the appropriate experience for this function - said Adam Bodnar in an interview with Beata Lubecka on “Gość Radia ZET”.

18:35

Poland's EU Presidency, Funds, EU-US Cooperation, and Ukraine. Duda Summarizes Talks with the President of Switzerland
- We spoke with the President about Poland's upcoming presidency of the European Union. I outlined Poland's priorities here with the President [...] also explaining the rationale [...] why we have adopted these particular priorities, and therefore what can be expected. As we know, Switzerland is currently conducting negotiations with the European Union, and we hope they will conclude successfully – said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference following his meeting with the President of Switzerland. - First and foremost, I thanked the President for another tranche of Swiss contributions, i.e., the so-called Swiss funds, the Swiss mechanism [...] where we, as Poland, are a very significant, the largest beneficiary of these funds. It will be 320 million Swiss francs that Poland will be able to use for the development of medium and small cities in Poland, as well as, importantly for us, for research and development and innovation – he continued. - I also spoke about issues related to the cooperation between the European Union and the United States [...] to further strengthen these relations [...]. In simplified terms, we are talking about more United States in the European Union, but also more European Union in the United States – he further stated. - I spoke about the open-door policy to the European Union, which we strongly want to promote and support as part of our priorities, namely the accession of Ukraine, Moldova, the Western Balkan countries, and Georgia to the European Union in the future. I also spoke about the priority of rebuilding Ukraine [...]. We also discussed energy in the context of climate protection and energy transformation – he added.

18:39

Bodnar on migration strategy:

It was achieved, also at my request, to adopt an amendment.
- On Tuesday morning, I had a very long conversation with the Prime Minister. I spoke about various threats and challenges associated with the adoption of this [migration] strategy, especially in the context of the suspension of the right to asylum - Adam Bodnar said on “Gość Radia ZET”. - What I think was important is that during the Council of Ministers, also at my request, an amendment to this migration strategy was adopted. An amendment which states that appropriate laws should take into account parliamentary control mechanisms, the protection of vulnerable groups, and the experiences of other countries - here, in a strict sense, we tried to refer to the experiences of Finland - he continued. “A solution that is an attempt to get out of the situation.” Bodnar on the Finnish law Referring to the aforementioned vulnerable groups, he explained: - For example, people with disabilities, women, pregnant women, children… […] The Finnish law […] takes into account that if these individuals appear at the border, appropriately trained, prepared border guards should notice that they belong to these vulnerable groups and these individuals should simply be admitted. - I believe that this is a solution that is an attempt to get out of this situation - on the one hand, to stop those groups that destabilize the situation at the border, and on the other hand, not to leave those seeking protection without the possibility of applying for asylum - he stated.

18:57

Bodnar:

Siemoniak Introduced 'Zero Deaths at the Border' Policy, Which Was Included in the Migration Strategy
- If we were to trace the actions and situations that occurred at the border since 2021, there were many disturbing incidents, including fatal cases at the border. However, Minister Siemoniak introduced a policy, which, incidentally, was included in this migration strategy - it is a strategy called 'zero deaths at the border' - said Adam Bodnar on 'Gość Radia ZET'.

19:13

Bodnar on the Venice Commission’s Proposals:

How could I have failed when I myself asked for this opinion?
- Absolutely not. How can I consider this a failure when I myself asked the Venice Commission for an abstract opinion on this matter [regarding the regulation of the status of so-called neo-judges]? - said Adam Bodnar in "Gość Radia ZET". - Our domestic dispute was that there were two positions. One position was that we do it by law, and that was the position presented, I admit, also by the Ministry of Justice, the Codification Commission for the System of Courts and Prosecution […]. And on the other hand, we had the position of organizations such as the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, who said: we must examine each individual - he continued. "The Commission says: you must meet halfway" - What the Venice Commission did was say: you must meet somewhere halfway. This means you can analyze these judges, but in groups, […] a partial, individual examination of judges in particular groups - he explained. - What's more, you must do it not through the legislator; they used the term “judicial body”. Probably in the Polish context, this will have to mean that such an assessment will be carried out by the National Council of the Judiciary in its new composition. So, we have to wait for the moment when the new president signs the act - he emphasized.

19:18

Korneluk on prosecutorial actions:

There are no better or worse citizens today.

- There are no better or worse citizens today. If there is evidence of a crime being committed, regardless of who it concerns, that person will face legal consequences. No prosecutor today, I guarantee this with my own person as well, will be guided by any political considerations when deciding whether or not to press charges against a given person solely for political reasons. This is extremely important, because the last 8 years have shown how extremely politicized the prosecution service was – stated Dariusz Korneluk on RMF FM.

- During the time I have held the position of National Prosecutor, there has been no situation indicating that the Prosecutor General, Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar, is interested in a specific solution regarding the conclusion or even initiation of criminal proceedings. No, he is as far as possible from the prosecution service when it comes to these substantive solutions. He is interested in the efficient functioning of the prosecution service – he continued.

19:20

Korneluk on Romanowski:

The Recordings Clearly Indicate His Interest in Obstructing the Proceedings.

- From these recordings, it clearly emerges that the suspect, Mr. Romanowski, is interested in obstructing the preparatory proceedings and the pursuit of truth. I will pay particular attention to one thing: a prosecutor has a duty to gather evidence not only against the suspect but also evidence that speaks in the suspect's favor – stated Dariusz Korneluk on RMF FM.

19:22

Korneluk on the Fight Against Road Crime:

The Best Prevention is the Inevitability of Punishment.
The best general, but also individual, prevention is the inevitability of punishment. The inevitability of punishment, even for a minor forbidden act, causes a person who agrees to commit a crime, for example, a driver who gets behind the wheel drunk or a driver exceeding the speed limit, even on a highway, to be aware that even if no misfortune occurs, they are committing a road offense and will be severely punished for it – said Dariusz Korneluk on RMF FM.

19:23

Korneluk:

I hope Kuczmierowski will be extradited to Poland in the first half of 2025
- If I'm not mistaken, the next hearing [for Kuczmierowski] is scheduled for February next year, and I hope he will be extradited to Poland in the first half of next year. He remains deprived of his liberty; this procedure is being prolonged because Great Britain is no longer in the EU, and it is therefore more complicated and more formalized – he added.

19:24

Bodnar:

I will encourage Wrzosek to stay. We all need her, and so does the prosecution.
- Tomorrow we have a meeting scheduled [with Ewa Wrzosek], I intend to have a serious conversation with the prosecutor. I know that Prosecutor Wrzosek is among those who were brave back then, in times when bravery was highly valued, especially in the prosecution service. The prosecutor has suffered a lot: forced penal transfers to other prosecution units, or even the confirmed fact of surveillance - said Adam Bodnar in "Gość Radia ZET". - I think it is in all our interests that the prosecutor can continue to work for the prosecution service. […] I can only encourage her to withdraw [her resignation statement]. […] I will encourage her because I believe that Prosecutor Wrzosek is needed by all of us and by the prosecution service - he assessed.

19:37

Bodnar on the Gajewska Case:

As far as I know, a preliminary investigation has been initiated.
- I hope that Minister Myrcha will clarify all doubts. […] We discussed this allowance, and the minister said that as a Member of Parliament who lives daily and comes from the Toruń constituency, he absolutely has the right to this housing allowance. Yes [he is registered in Warsaw], but I understand that where he lives and where he runs from is what matters – said Adam Bodnar in “Gość Radia ZET”. - I don't know if [in the case of MP Kinga Gajewska] the prosecution has already taken action or not, but as far as I know, a preliminary investigation has probably already been initiated in this matter. We will see what it leads to – he continued.

19:59

Zgorzelski:

The PiS Club Leader Could Just as Easily Have Stood at the Podium Instead of Duda

- I heard a speech by a politician that was parliamentary in character and form. The head of the PiS parliamentary club could just as easily have stood at the podium instead of Andrzej Duda, and he probably would have said the same thing - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TVP Info.

20:00

Zgorzelski:

We Interpret Duda's Seizure of Power as a Cheap Tactic Aimed at a Quick Return to Power

- We interpret this seizure [of power by President Duda] as a cheap tactic calculated to achieve a swift return to power. This will not happen with the help of the PSL, because on October 15th, people went to the polls in such large numbers - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TVP Info.

20:10

Zgorzelski:

Nothing has been decided among PO's presidential candidates

- I will tell you that sometimes they also prove true, so if he [Marek Sawicki] has such a diagnosis, I want to say that among PO's presidential candidates, nothing has been decided. Just as well as Rafał Trzaskowski, Minister Sikorski could be a contender, and there is another person who makes decisions in this party, and that is Prime Minister Tusk - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TVP Info.

20:12

Żukowska on Asylum Applications by Migrants Brought by Lukashenka:

An Untrue Picture
- Last year, 9,000 asylum applications were filed [...], and 4,500 were recognized as justified. These are mainly applications from people originating from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine - said Anna Maria Żukowska in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Lepsza Polska" on Polsat News. - Therefore, the picture presented in the media by various political players at this moment, that these are supposedly people brought by Lukashenka from further afield countries, from countries in Africa or Muslim countries, and that they are the ones wanting to apply for asylum in Poland, is untrue. They are not filing these asylum applications - she continued.

20:25

Żukowska:

If we say 'human rights, but not fully,' the next government will act similarly on other rights
- I wonder what the point of the law allowing the shooting of people trying to aggressively cross our border without impunity was - said Anna Maria Żukowska on Polsat News. - The justification was that it was meant to deter those who wanted to illegally cross our border, who wanted to attack our soldiers or Border Guard officers, so they wouldn't do it, so they would know that death could be a consequence - she continued. - If we send the message 'death could be a consequence,' then why additionally send the message 'you might not be able to apply for asylum.' [...] I don't understand why we should further restrict human rights, violate the Constitution - she went on to say. - I know that Law and Justice was in power, they accustomed Poles to the idea that anything can be broken, the Constitution can be disregarded, but if we continue to act this way, saying 'human rights, but not fully,' then the next government will come [...] and will act similarly regarding other rights; this is dangerous - she added.
