Błaszczak on Whether He Will Become Head of the PiS Executive Committee:

I am Ready to Take on Such a Role.
- If the congress decides so, then I am ready to take on such a role. We will show on the one hand how badly Donald Tusk governs, and on the other hand, how one can govern well - said Mariusz Błaszczak in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Radia ZET", when asked whether he would become the head of the PiS executive committee.

08:47

Błaszczak Suggests Timing for PiS Presidential Candidate Announcement:

Symbols Matter in Politics.
- In my opinion, symbols are important in politics. 10 years ago, in mid-November, a candidate was presented, Mr. Andrzej Duda, the current President of the Republic of Poland. I believe it would be best if [it happened] like 10 years ago - Mariusz Błaszczak said on Radio ZET, when asked when the PiS candidate for president would be announced. - I think that is a good timeframe - he continued, when pressed if it would be November 10-11.

Kosiniak-Kamysz Announces Criminal Complaints Regarding the Smolensk Subcommittee's Activities
We will be presenting it soon with Minister Tomczyk; I don't want to do so yet before all the work is completed, which is, in any case, lightning-fast compared to the gigabytes, terabytes of information that the commission had to process. It is an apolitical commission consisting solely of experts, and I told the commission members, right at the very beginning when I met with them. I accept your findings – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on the program "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24. - This is a truly serious matter. Everything that Antoni Macierewicz does, not only in this commission but in my opinion, is an action aimed at a specific thesis and striving to achieve results regardless of facts and evidence. I think there will be many conclusions, not only for state bodies but, in fact, for the state's future on how to proceed and how to avoid situations of hypocrisy and falsehood – he continued.

08:54

Governing is Draining; Candidates Not on the Front Lines Have a Better Chance." Błaszczak on Presidential Elections
- Everything indicates that governing is draining, so candidates who have not been on the front lines have a greater chance than those who have been on the front lines - said Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio ZET, when asked about Mateusz Morawiecki's chances of winning the second round of elections, if he were a PiS candidate.

08:56

Błaszczak on Kalisz's Words About PiS Receiving a Subsidy:

An Attempt to Demobilize Voters.
- It was Ryszard Kalisz who said that, but I interpret it as an attempt to demobilize the voters of Law and Justice, because voters hear "oh, they will get that money, so maybe the contribution isn't needed anymore." It is needed, they will take the money from us - said Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio ZET, when asked about Ryszard Kalisz's statement regarding the dispute in the National Electoral Commission (PKW) and the fact that PiS will receive a subsidy. - If they hadn't taken it from us, Donald Tusk would have gone mad, and what would have happened is that the appointees of the December 13 coalition would have been kicked out of the PKW - he continued.

08:58

Kosiniak-Kamysz on NATO and Poland's Defense Strategy:

Deterrence and Defense

- We are doing everything to ensure that it never pays to attack Poland. Armament is for this purpose, strength in alliances and societal resilience, all these actions are intended to ensure that it never pays to attack Poland – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVN24.

- Firstly, deterrence and defense; this is the strategy of NATO and the strategy of Poland. This is part of the element of deterrence. In the coming days, the Minister of Civil Defense in Sweden is sending out manuals to all homes, 5 million copies, on how to prepare for war. There was a moment when the Prime Minister of Sweden, Swedish ministers, said: We are in direct danger, everyone full mobilization – he added.

08:58

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Scale of Defense Expenditures:

We Increased Spending by PLN 50 Billion.

- We increased defense spending [in connection with the "Błaszczak's deficit"] between 2023 and 2024, when our predecessors were still fully responsible for the budget, by 50 billion. We had to find money, also for contracts concluded by our predecessors, because they do not end at the moment of signing the contract, but are implemented, meaning they are paid for over many years, so we will be looking for this money – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVN24.

09:54

Hołownia on the budget work schedule:

Finish work earlier than before.
We adopted such a schedule for the budget yesterday, so as to finish work earlier than before. We would like the budget to leave the Sejm for the Senate on December 6th, so that the Senate has time in December, its 20 days, to work out amendments, and so that we in the Sejm can deal with the Senate's amendments at the first January session - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

09:59

Hołownia:

I regret the president's actions regarding the Constitutional Tribunal laws

- I deeply regret what the president did with the law on the Constitutional Tribunal, with two laws. We had hoped that the hand we are extending to the president, but also to everyone who wants to heal this unhealthy situation, would be taken. After all, in this draft, we spoke about the opposition's participation in the selection of Constitutional Tribunal members - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

- This is no longer the Constitutional Tribunal, it is TK&K, the Tribunal of Mrs. Julia Przyłębska's colleagues and PiS politicians. If the president is not bothered that Mr. Święczkowski, Mr. Piotrowicz, and Mrs. Pawłowicz sit on Przyłębska's Constitutional Tribunal, and that practically every decision made by it is legally flawed and introduces chaos into Poland's legal system, then I don't know how to talk about this with the president - the Marshal of the Sejm continued.

10:00

Hołownia on the Constitutional Tribunal's Security Measure Regarding Świrski:

The Sejm Will Not Be Intimidated.

- That was not a Constitutional Tribunal at all. The Sejm will not be intimidated, and secondly, the Sejm will never agree to illegality. We have a very clear opinion on this matter from our parliamentary Office of Expertise and Regulatory Impact Assessment. We will publish it on our website today – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

10:03

"One Thing Raises My Serious Doubt": Hołownia on the Myrcha Case and Housing Allowance
- In my assessment, this is not a matter of housing allowances themselves, because they are simply due to MPs. [...] There is one thing in this matter that raises my serious doubt. It is the statement by MP Myrcha that he registered his residence in Warsaw solely for tax purposes. This is something I have a problem with – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference. - Either you live there, you are registered there, and the matter is clear, or you live elsewhere, but you still write that you are registered, meaning you reside elsewhere, because there is some tax benefit, or a kindergarten for children, or something else. This is the problem, and in this matter, I think the relevant committees should present their opinion – he continued. - I will be in dialogue with the ethics committee and the committee on parliamentary rules and affairs, in order, firstly, to obtain a clear stance from MP Myrcha on what he has to say in this situation, and secondly, to secure the system so that this type of thing simply does not happen again – he went on to say.

10:08

Hołownia:

I Hope Transparency, Openness, and Meritocracy in the State Companies Will Finally Become the Sejm's Focus

- Tomorrow, Chairman Komarewicz has convened a subcommittee meeting regarding the bill on state-owned companies, which was submitted by Poland 2050. I hope the work will finally move forward as it should. It has been 5 months since the first reading, the matter is becoming increasingly media-covered and necessary to regulate, so I hope that transparency, openness, and meritocracy in state companies will finally become the focus of the high chamber - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

10:10

Hołownia on Healthcare Contribution Changes:

I Can’t Imagine PO and PSL Not Voting for the Bill We Introduce.

- Please don’t ask me, ladies and gentlemen, whether we will vote, if we introduce this bill, for this bill with PiS and Konfederacja. I can’t imagine PO and PSL not voting for the bill that we will introduce. After all, this is our commitment, we said it directly, and Minister Domański, I’m referring here to the transcript, clearly stated on July 26, 2024 [about ensuring funding for the changes] - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

10:18

Hołownia on Proposed Changes to Health Contribution:

We Must Remove This Sick PiS Law
- If we hear that a government bill is being released which is inconsistent with what we believe we agreed upon, and also inconsistent with our agreements, then our responsibility is to the voters and to the coalition agreement we made. We want to show now that we take our common commitments seriously. Because we take them seriously, we express this in the way a parliamentary club can express it, i.e., with a bill - said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference. - I believe that this bill, that this solution, as I said, will meet with the favor of our coalition partners. Of course, these 4 billion, about which Minister Domański spoke, is not the final point. [...] This is the beginning, this must happen. And when we hear that "only fixed costs", we say okay, but has anyone calculated these fixed costs? It could be half a million, it could be a billion. But it's still not 4 billion - he continued. - We must remove this sick PiS law, here we will be determined [...] the final budget vote is in almost two months, there is still time for talks, for reaching agreements - he added.

10:58

Not Enough Smiling MPs Arrived, They Fear Voting Outcomes. Mentzen on the Sejm Session

- Marshal Hołownia has just announced that there will be no votes today because there are not enough MPs. Of course, there are enough MPs, but clearly not enough of those smiling MPs have come to Warsaw, so they are afraid of the voting outcomes - Sławomir Mentzen wrote on social media.

11:00

Petru on Changes to Health Contributions:

I Appeal for Good Cooperation Beyond Divisions.
From this spot, I appeal to everyone to work together on this act [concerning changes to health contributions] so that it comes into effect next year. We must break away from what the Polish Deal introduced for Polish entrepreneurs, because it made life most difficult precisely for entrepreneurs. Therefore, from this spot, I appeal for good cooperation beyond divisions from the entire chamber – stated Ryszard Petru in the Sejm.

11:13

Zandberg Responds to Petru:

You Want to Give Gifts to the Wealthiest.
Mr. Deputy Petru, we have enormous problems in public healthcare today; we are short by several dozen billion zlotys to maintain the current, admittedly unsatisfactory, level of healthcare services. And you want to take billions more from this public healthcare system for gifts to the wealthiest people in Poland. This is simply irresponsible – stated Adrian Zandberg during a Sejm session.

11:22

Further Requests to Lift Parliamentary Immunity - Including Mejza

Yesterday, the Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar submitted a request to the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Szymon Hołownia, for the Sejm of the Republic of Poland to grant consent to bring Member of Parliament Łukasz Mejza to criminal responsibility - the National Prosecutor's Office informed.

Furthermore, an analogous request concerning Member of Parliament Ryszard Wilk was sent to the Sejm.

11:56

Tusk on the Priority of Poland's EU Presidency:

We Will Work on Correcting European Policies on Illegal Migration.
During the upcoming Polish presidency, I will largely focus on the issue of migration, illegal migration. We have virtually identical positions here; the Czech government and the Polish government will certainly cooperate on correcting certain traditional European policies regarding illegal migration. We present a common, firm, rational stance, without any obsessions, but we are decidedly in favor of defending Europe against the wave of illegal migration. We will certainly cooperate very well here – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the opening of Polish-Czech intergovernmental consultations.

11:58

Tusk:

Thank You to the Czechs for Ukraine Initiatives

- We will cooperate, and this cooperation is a model. I also thank the Czechs very much, and you in particular, Mr. Prime Minister, personally, for the initiatives concerning Ukraine. We will cooperate even more closely with your government and the Czech Republic; we are doing this responsibly, rationally, and very solidaristically, both in terms of aid for refugees from Ukraine and aid in defending Ukraine against Russian aggression – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the opening of Polish-Czech intergovernmental consultations.

11:59

Tusk Thanks the Czech Prime Minister:

Your Help Enabled the Swift Organization of European Aid.

- Thank you for mentioning our joint actions, now during the tragic flood that has so painfully affected both the Czech Republic and Poland. Your very quick reaction to my invitation and initiative enabled us to swiftly organize European aid as well, and the openness of the European administration regarding the flexibility in the use of European funds – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the opening of Polish-Czech intergovernmental consultations.

14:26

Protecting the External Border and Reducing Illegal Immigration, Not Creating Internal Borders. Tusk Announces Debate at EU Forum

- Together, we must convince other partners in the EU, and we will, that the EU's task is to protect the external border and minimize illegal immigration, not to create internal borders and look for mechanisms that merely move groups of illegal immigrants back and forth within Europe. We will cooperate in all aspects here - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

- We will firmly insist on the necessity of conducting a very serious political debate about migration in Brussels, during the European Council. It's not about having further routine, not always necessary, not always wise conclusions appear on paper. It's about European leaders seriously considering all the pros and cons of existing solutions, so as to effectively protect the whole of Europe and its member states from the wave of illegal, and increasingly organized by external forces, migration - the head of government continued.

14:45

Tusk Announces Poland's Long-Term Migration Strategy on PiS Congress Day

- On Saturday afternoon, in 3 days, I will announce Poland's long-term migration strategy. It will be a strategy that will not only be a program to combat illegal immigration and, more broadly, a modern migration policy calculated for years to come, but it will also be a proposal for the entire EU - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

15:13

Tusk on Holding PiS Accountable:

We're Probably on the Right Track.

- Tusk's dictatorship! Torture and unlawful arrests of PiS politicians! Bodnar's thugs in action! - I hear from some. Where is the accountability?! Suicidal policy of impunity! - say others. We're probably on the right track - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

18:30

Raś on the Ministry of Education's strategy towards religion classes in schools:

We don't like it.
"We don't like it, I'm speaking here on behalf of my parliamentary club, because we believe it's accepted by Poles and continues to be accepted, as evidenced by the recent poll, that the majority of Poles still wish for religion in schools." - said Ireneusz Raś in the "Afternoon Conversation" on RMF FM, when asked if he liked the Ministry of Education's strategy towards religion classes in schools.

18:36

Raś on Czarnek's Proposal Regarding Religion and Ethics Classes:

I Would Agree With That.
- I would agree with that, because otherwise we will enter into an area of somewhat mediocrity of the formative Polish school, and it is just as important as sports [...] as mathematics, biology, chemistry - said Ireneusz Raś on RMF FM, when asked about Przemysław Czarnek's proposal to make attendance at religion or ethics classes mandatory.

19:52

Zgorzelski:

Zandberg Must Decide If He's In or Out of the Coalition
- Mr. Zandberg, in fact, must first decide for himself whether he is in the coalition or already outside the coalition – said Piotr Zgorzelski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Guest of Events," in the context of criticism from a Razem party MP towards Ryszard Petru, who is pushing for the idea of lowering health insurance contributions. - I must tell all those Left MPs who believe that money falls from the sky that if it weren't for the hard-working entrepreneurs, whose taxes are later also distributed to Mr. Zandberg's salary, he wouldn't be able to utter such wisdoms from the parliamentary rostrum – he stated.

20:03

Zgorzelski on the health insurance contribution reduction:

Perhaps in stages, but we will deliver. We promise.
- We don't have to agree on everything from beginning to end. When it comes to matters related to fixed assets, I think no one has any doubts here. We need to diagnose how much money will be left from the four billion that are guaranteed and move forward - said Piotr Zgorzelski in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News. - Certain things must be done in stages and gradually. […] We feel we represent Polish entrepreneurs politically, we promised them […] the health insurance contribution and we promise that we will deliver. Perhaps in stages, but we will deliver - he assured.

20:12

PL2050 to Vote on Health Contribution with PiS and Confederation? Zgorzelski: It Would Be the Worst Solution
- I cannot imagine that. We did not agree to push our ideas through the Sejm by building a majority based on the opposition. That is why we are a coalition, to talk to each other, and we will continue to talk to each other - said Piotr Zgorzelski in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News, when asked if Poland 2050 would vote for its draft law on the health contribution together with PiS and the Confederation. - It would be the worst of solutions and would not serve the future of our coalition - he assessed.

20:28

Zgorzelski on the Myrcha and Gajewska Affair:

Perhaps They Overdid It When It Comes to Careless Spending.
- They will probably have to answer not only to their superiors but, above all, to the voters. It is up to them to explain this whole matter. Until they speak on this issue, I will remain reserved - said Piotr Zgorzelski in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News. - Let’s not compare at all what MP Mejza probably did concerning sick individuals, especially children, with this situation, where a couple perhaps overdid it when it comes to careless spending - he noted.

20:32

Zgorzelski on Third Way:

We've Agreed on at Least One Term and We'll See It Through.
- There is [Third Way], it is doing well, and we will continue - said Piotr Zgorzelski on "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News. - In the Third Way project, we have agreed on at least one term and we will see it through. Please do not worry - he assured.

21:30

Giertych on the Announcement of KO’s Presidential Candidate:

The Decision Will Be Made Once PiS Announces Their Candidate.

- It was a very serious club, a very serious conversation, and it concerned what is currently the most important task for KO, namely the presidential elections, which are approaching and which are already practically here, as we have 6 months until the elections. People may not realize it, but we are actually already in an election campaign – stated Roman Giertych on the program ,,Kropka nad i” on TVN24.

- It was announced earlier that the decision on this matter will certainly be made after PiS announces its candidate, and I think that will be towards the end of the year – he added.

21:32

Giertych Names His Presidential Candidate from Civic Coalition:

The One Who Knows Security Better.
I believe these elections will largely be about security, and the situation in Poland, in Europe, on our border, and the global situation – this will require a person who knows security perfectly, and between these two excellent candidates, I think Radosław Sikorski knows security better. Personally, I am also in favor of the October 15th coalition presenting a joint candidate – said Roman Giertych on TVN24.

21:34

Giertych on so-called neo-judges in the Supreme Court:

These are not judges.

- There was no such resolution. Firstly, there was a resolution by three people, mere impostors. As I recall, I once told these disguised judges in the Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Court, 'Gentlemen, you are impostors.' After the resolution of three chambers, meaning a resolution by the entire Supreme Court, which took place four years ago, it is a known fact that while the issue of neo-judges in common courts is debatable, when it comes to judges of the Supreme Court, there is no discussion – they are not judges – stated Roman Giertych on TVN24.
