Nowacka on the Teachers’ Solidarity Union:

I Don’t Recall Them Demanding Meetings with Morawiecki and Szydło in the Same Way.

- However, I am somewhat surprised when I see the Teachers’ Solidarity Union, especially protesting today. I don’t recall them demanding meetings with Prime Minister Morawiecki or Prime Minister Szydło in the same way. During the teachers’ strike, it was precisely they who, let’s not fool ourselves, broke that strike, but I found a trace – they requested a 30% raise from Prime Minister Morawiecki in August 2023. So I am glad that Donald Tusk’s government has also fulfilled their expectation from January 1, 2024 – stated Barbara Nowacka on Radio Zet.

Duda at Zeman's Birthday. Sikorski: The Visit Was Consulted with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We Advised Against It.
- It was consulted [President Andrzej Duda's visit to the Czech Republic for Miloš Zeman's birthday], we advised against it. I would advise the president on a different choice of friends - said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Dominika Wielowieyska on TOK FM's Poranek. - I think it made a bad impression, primarily in Poland. I believe the president already regrets it. It probably doesn't build his authority - he assessed. - In the United States, the president cared for and advocated for the interests of fighting Ukraine, and here he meets with people who have a different opinion. This is not a coherent message - he added.

Nowacka on smartphones in schools:

There are no grounds to say that society and parents are ready for a strict ban.

- I would be in favour of a consensus on this matter [banning smartphones in schools], also with parents, because introducing a ban without enforcement tools will be a completely empty regulation. However, there is no justification whatsoever for children in kindergartens to have any contact with any electronics, including televisions from which cartoons are shown. Kindergarten should simply be analogue, and the same should apply to grades 1-3 - stated Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio Zet.

- There are no grounds today to say that Polish society, primarily parents, are ready for a strict ban, but they are certainly ready for us to collectively combat the problem of child addiction - she continued.

- It is not enough to simply say "we will ban smartphones," but action must be taken, and we are preparing to remind the entire society, not just through bans and orders, but through programmes, peer support, which is what we are currently doing, and respect for fellow human beings - emphasised the Minister of Education.

Leszczyna on the NFZ Situation:

I Disagree That Something Dramatic is Happening.
- I disagree that something dramatic is happening at the National Health Fund (NFZ) and that the situation is dangerous for patients. All patients in Poland are safe. I have issued an instruction that by the end of September, i.e., today, all hospitals in Poland, as well as outpatient specialist care, are to receive money for, please note, unlimited services rendered up to the end of June - said Izabela Leszczyna on "TVP Info Morning Show".

08:43

Sikorski:

After PiS rule, the rest of the EU will watch Ukraine closely on rule of law
- We will negotiate Ukraine's accession to the EU; it will be a very complicated process. Ukraine, through its heroism, has carved out candidate status and the start of negotiations, but the negotiations themselves will be a complicated process - Radosław Sikorski said on TOK FM's Morning program. - We will assess Ukraine's European-ness. [...] Indeed, European-ness has various aspects. The first cluster, as it's called in Brussels jargon, concerns matters related to human rights, the rule of law, democracy, etc. Here, after the PiS government, the rest of Europe will be particularly watchful of post-communist countries, because we must be sure that everyone who becomes a member in the future will also adhere to these principles as a member - he continued.

08:43

Leszczyna:

If we maintain a whole range of duplicating departments, we won't cope
- There is no question of closing hospitals. A district hospital is to ensure the health security of the district's residents, and if hospitals are included, and I am convinced they will be, because a few days ago I met with over two hundred district governors, i.e., the owners of district hospitals, I talk with directors of district hospitals, they all know that if we maintain a whole range of duplicating departments, we won't cope - Izabela Leszczyna said on TVP Info. - Hospitals compete for doctors and outbid each other, "I will pay PLN 200 per hour", "and I will pay PLN 250 per hour" - she continued.

08:47

Leszczyna:

I'm agreed with the Minister of Finance that any shortfall in health contributions must be covered by the state budget
- I absolutely do not see such a possibility - Izabela Leszczyna said on TVP Info when asked if she saw room to lower health contributions further than excluding fixed assets. - I am agreed with the Minister of Finance that any shortfall in health contributions must be covered by the state budget - she continued.

Błaszczak Announces Presentation of Solutions for the Development of the Polish Armed Forces:

The Current Government Completely Neglects This Area.
- The Tusk government has launched a national program to disarm the Polish Army. In recent weeks alone, we have learned that contracts for K2 tanks, K9 howitzers, Himars launchers, and FA-50 aircraft have been cancelled - said Mariusz Błaszczak in a recording published on social media. - They have no money. The Ministry of National Defence budget consists of two parts: the state budget and the armed forces support fund. The fund is filled with money from the sale of bonds and loans. This year, they have only fulfilled 2% of the plan. That's why there's no money for new contracts - he continued. - Security is paramount, and the current government completely neglects this area. Therefore, within a month, we will present a comprehensive diagnosis of Poland's security status and solutions concerning the development of the Polish Armed Forces. More details soon - he added.

09:43

Bartoszewski on the Prosecutor's Investigation:

Political Attack.

- Firstly, I see no grounds for initiating an investigation, because there are none. The Onet editorial office, not entirely reliably, wrote that there is a verdict, that I have to pay something; there is no such verdict and I don't have to pay anything, because the case is under appeal – stated Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- I doubt the prosecutor's office contacted Onet; it would never occur to me that the prosecutor's office would break the law in this way, by contacting Onet, hence this matter has more of a political context. It is evidently a political attack on me or on my political group – he continued.

- I have no idea [at whose behest this attack is]; that would need to be clarified. Perhaps Onet will take up the task of clarifying who is behind it; I will not theorize here. However, it is evidently not a legal matter that is ongoing - added the Deputy Foreign Minister.

09:45

Bartoszewski on the Supreme Court's Criminal Chamber Ruling:

Barski is Not a Prosecutor.

Going off the rails would have been if we had passed one special act, which some fanatics spoke of before the elections, saying, we will pass one special act, remove 10,000 judges, and everything will be fine. That would have been taking a shortcut. Mr. Bodnar is trying to salvage the situation in agreement with legal organizations – said Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski on Polsat News.

There are rulings from the CJEU, it is evident that the so-called neo-KRS is an illegal body, Mr. Barski is not a prosecutor, judges who theoretically decided otherwise are not judges because they were appointed improperly. Unfortunately, the PiS government led to this legal chaos – he emphasized.

09:45

Bartoszewski on Exhumations in Volhynia:

We Are Not Demanding Revenge, But a Dignified Burial for Our Ancestors.

- The first chapter that will be negotiated regarding Ukraine's accession to the EU will be the issue of the rule of law and the justice system, and within this framework, the matter of carrying out exhumations will certainly be raised. If this chapter is not closed, Ukraine will not take a step further in any subsequent chapters. The European Union assumes that the Polish presidency in the middle of next year, from January, for 6 months of next year, will be precisely discussing topics related to the rule of law – stated Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski in Polsat News.

- It is obvious that the challenge of being able to dig up, exhume, and dignifiedly bury the bodies of our citizens is something that is absolutely obvious in our cultural sphere – he continued.

- I think we will reach an agreement, but we must live in truth. We are not demanding revenge, we are not demanding punishment, but we are demanding the dignified burial of the bodies of our ancestors – he emphasized.

Barski Denied Entry to the National Prosecutor's Office

Dariusz Barski appeared at the headquarters of the National Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. However, he was not allowed inside.

- I was told that I would not be allowed in because - despite showing my ID, which indicates that I am a prosecutor at the National Prosecutor's Office - it was apparently not sufficient for the officer of the Prison Service who received the ID - Barski told the media.

When asked if he would try "until successful," he replied: - What does "try until successful" mean? I am not going to come here every day and try to enter in the same way, since I was clearly informed that I would not be admitted.

- I articulated my expectations [towards Adam Bodnar] in an open letter [...] - that he would allow me to perform my duties. [...] Prosecutor Korneluk is not a partner for conversation for me, because he is not the National Prosecutor. [...] There is only one National Prosecutor, and I hold this position, as indicated by the ruling of the Supreme Court - he emphasized.

Siemoniak Announces First Reading of Civil Defense Bill. 'Vast Sums Will Be Directed Towards This Goal'

- A very important topic that is unfolding these days, and is also the result of our close cooperation with the President, is the draft bill on population protection and civil defense. On Thursday and Friday, the first reading of this project will take place. This week, the committee is already set to begin working on this project. This is a major revolution in the approach to population protection and civil defense – stated Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference.

- I want to emphasize that the entire philosophy of this project is based on self-government. It is the cities, municipalities, districts, and also voivodeships that are to play a fundamental role in building this system. There are very precise guidelines and solutions regarding shelters and places of refuge. I am counting very much on very close cooperation with the capital city of Warsaw, as the tasks related to shelters and places of refuge will be most significant here. Significant funds, amounting to 0.3% of GDP, will be allocated annually to population protection matters, and above all, starting from next year, a strong push will be made for the construction of shelters and places of refuge – he continued.

14:08

Siemoniak on Warsaw's flood relief efforts:

I want to thank President Trzaskowski for this.

- I will start by thanking President Rafał Trzaskowski for his presence in the areas affected by the flood in recent days, for the initiative to have local government officials from all over Poland strongly support the residents and municipalities that have suffered the most. This campaign, "municipalities for municipalities," is also direct help from Warsaw, which is greatly appreciated because it was delivered quickly. Trucks departed, and all the items funded by Warsaw reached those in need – said Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference.

14:09

Siemoniak Announces Major Change in the Fight Against Road Pirates:

We Must Fight This Pathology.
We have consulted with the President, and we are ready to present an appropriate amendment to the law so that organizers and participants of illegal races are simply subject to penalties, enabling the police to effectively combat this pathology. I am counting heavily on the support of the Mayor of Warsaw and local governments, especially larger cities, because this pathology takes place in larger cities – said Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference.

President's Office Announces Duda's Meeting with Barski: "Will Receive the National Prosecutor"

- Tomorrow, October 1st, at 10:00 AM, President Andrzej Duda will receive the National Prosecutor Dariusz Barski at the Presidential Palace - the President's Office announced.

18:13

Hennig-Kloska:

We Are Catching Up on Enormous Backlogs
We are catching up on enormous backlogs. So not everything can be done... My deputy ministers, those responsible for these areas, are working even 12 hours a day, and I know they are working extensively with departments on many things. Besides, 100 legislative acts. One can always do more, madam editor, of course, but the very process of releasing funds, implementing programs, and investment unfortunately takes time. We certainly regret the lost time in this area and we definitely need to accelerate - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

18:15

Hennig-Kloska on the Article Regarding Totalizator Sportowy:

There Are No Poland 2050 Activists There.

- As you can see, there are no Poland 2050 activists there, no people from our lists. Secondly, for me, the key answer is whether these individuals possess the necessary competencies to perform their duties, because ultimately, regardless of whether someone is a party member or not, they should primarily have competencies - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on Radio Zet.

18:18

Hennig-Kloska:

The Best Experts Must Join State-Owned Companies
- The best experts must join state-owned companies, and they should be the ones to do so, especially now, in such difficult times. Tomorrow at 8 AM we have a club meeting, and I will ask what is happening with the bill, as I am one of its co-authors [regarding the staffing of State Treasury Companies] - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on Radio Zet.

18:26

Hennig-Kloska:

Ministry Spokesperson Resigned Voluntarily, Will Focus on Environmental Education Elsewhere

- The spokesperson for the Ministry of Climate was not dismissed. He resigned from his position voluntarily, he continues to work in our ministry and will focus on environmental education in a different capacity - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on Radio Zet.

from Tomorrow! Tusk Releases Video:

Grandparent Benefit
- “Grandparent Benefit” from tomorrow! - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media. The head of government attached a video to his post announcing the benefit, which is being introduced from October 1st.

- The government program “Active Parent” supports working parents of children up to 3 years old. This is 1500 PLN of the “Grandparent Benefit” per month. You pursue your professional goals, and your child is in good hands. If you choose a nursery, the government will co-finance its cost up to 1500 PLN. Family and work can go hand in hand - says the narrator in the clip.

19:52

Trzaskowski's Declaration on Speed Cameras in Local Government Hands:

I Have No Problem Taking Just Money for Servicing Them.
- I am postulating, I have discussed this with the minister, that the cameras which were taken away from local governments should return to the hands of local governments, because we know exactly where to place them - said Rafał Trzaskowski in TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". - There used to be an accusation that local governments make money from this. I have no problem with taking just money for servicing the equipment, and putting the rest of the money into a common, governmental pot, from which we would, for example, conduct preventive or educational activities - he continued.

20:00

Trzaskowski on Running for President:

A Likely Scenario.
- This decision will likely be made at the end of the year, then there will be a decision, there will be a candidate, and we will start the campaign - Rafał Trzaskowski said on TVN24. - This is a likely scenario - he continued, responding to the suggestion that all indications point to him being the Civic Coalition's (KO) presidential candidate. - I don't know, it's hard to say, we know that the majority of our voters would like such a scenario. It's also a question of whether such a scenario would be better, because there are two schools of thought here; one says that if there were more candidates on the democratic side, we would be able to mobilize a larger number of voters [...] one candidate would also show strength - he went on to say, when asked about being the common candidate for the entire ruling coalition.

20:06

Trzaskowski on the PKOl President's Case:

An Unbelievable Farce.
- Not only is the person responding to us not authorized to do so, so of course we have to ask for explanations again, which is a classic delay tactic, but on top of that, the information is very perfunctory - said Rafał Trzaskowski on TVN24.

- After all, we all have the right to know on what basis the PKOl president earns money and how much he earns; it should be in his interest to come out on camera and simply clearly state "I earn this much and this much," and instead, these facts are being hidden. An unbelievable farce - he continued.

20:27

Siemoniak on Barski:

There are plenty of people in the world who consider themselves Napoleons.
- There are plenty of people in the world who consider themselves Napoleons. There’s nothing we can do about it. I had the impression that Mr. Barski wasn’t particularly convinced that anyone actually considered him a prosecutor. He arrived, he left, the matter is closed. The National Prosecutor is Dariusz Korneluk – said Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf on TVP Info’s “Question of the Day.”

20:34

Siemoniak:

Korneluk is the National Prosecutor. The Situation is Absolutely Clear for State Services
- The President can invite whomever he wants to the Palace, he can invite Mr. Barski. Dariusz Korneluk is the National Prosecutor - said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVP Info's „Pytanie dnia” (Question of the Day). - Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar already conveyed this very clearly on Friday. This situation is absolutely clear. This situation is absolutely clear for state services, for the police, for special services that are in daily contact with the prosecution - he emphasized. As he noted: - For us and for my colleagues, it is clear: Dariusz Korneluk is the National Prosecutor. He is the superior of all prosecutors, and that's it - and that's how we will work.

20:38

Siemoniak:

PiS is responsible for the disorganization of the judiciary
- PiS is responsible for this disorganization of the judiciary, for the fact that it is unclear whether someone is a judge or not, for the politicization of the National Council of the Judiciary. They brewed this beer, and therefore they should speak very restrainedly on these topics - said Tomasz Siemoniak in "Question of the Day" on TVP Info.

20:52

PiS Demands "Eviction of Usurpers" from National Prosecutor's Office; Siemoniak: Police Will File This Request Away Like Thousands of Other Senseless Ones
- What is [the police] supposed to do? File it away like thousands of other senseless, various requests. Occupying the police with things that are simply absurd - said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVP Info's "Question of the Day," when asked about PiS's request to the Commander-in-Chief of the Police concerning the "eviction of usurpers who are occupying the National Prosecutor's Office building." - These are absolutely political actions, staged for the public, for the media. [...] For the entire Polish police force, the National Prosecutor is Dariusz Korneluk. Full stop. No actions will be taken here, of course - he announced.

21:22

Sikorski’s Ironic Remarks on the Chancellery of the President’s Opinion:

Perhaps Mr. Barski Will Be Accepted Too.

- Mysterious words, but the President received Wąsik and Kamiński, so perhaps he will receive Mr. Barski too. I understand that these neo-judges took shortcuts in their careers, accepted nominations from an improperly selected National Council of the Judiciary, and are now pretending to issue rulings, and it happens to be convenient for today’s opposition and the President to fight against the government. I think that when it comes to violating the constitution, the previous administration has a lot to answer for – said Radosław Sikorski on TVN24.

21:23

Sikorski on Volhynia Exhumations:

This Matter Must Be Resolved Before EU Accession Negotiations Begin.
I hope there will be no need for such drastic actions, because this matter should be resolved even before we get to the real negotiations [on Ukraine’s EU accession]. It stems from the fact that people simply died and demand burial. This is both our European culture and a Christian duty. I would like to assure our Ukrainian friends that we want to resolve this matter out of friendship for Ukraine, so that it does not weigh on our relations – stated Radosław Sikorski on TVN24. It was a mistake [Minister Kuleba's words regarding Operation Vistula], but words are one thing, and the need for a dignified burial of the victims of the massacre is another, because that is more important – he added.

21:27

Sikorski on Duda's Visit to Zeman's Birthday:

He Could Have Saved Himself the Controversy.

- Well, if he says so, perhaps that was the intention. Unfortunately, it made it to the media. We tried to advise Mr. President, but Mr. President decided according to his own judgment. There were discussions at the deputy minister level, and I also personally spoke with Mr. President in New York. We had reports that Gerhard Schröder might appear there, and we wanted to protect the authority of our head of state from such a lobbyist – stated Radosław Sikorski on the program "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

- Nothing major happened. Mr. President could have saved himself the controversy. Without exaggeration [that it harms state interests], I think the controversy could have been avoided – he added.
