Sasin:

Błaszczak would be a great presidential candidate, but I also see potential in lesser-known politicians
- There is absolutely no question of any lack of experience; I cannot imagine us as a party fielding a candidate [for president] who completely lacks experience, meaning someone completely out of the blue – Jacek Sasin stated in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24. - I know a bit about these internal discussions, although I am not [...] part of the narrow team that is actually working on selecting a candidate [...] and much of the media reports have nothing to do with reality – he continued. - I wouldn't rule out these scenarios [candidacies such as Morawiecki, Błaszczak, Szydło, Gliński, Czarnek] that you are currently talking about; this discussion is ongoing, and everything will truly depend on our analysis. I definitely wouldn't rule out these candidates – he went on to say. - Personally, I believe that Mariusz Błaszczak would be, for example, a great candidate, but I also see these candidates among these less well-known politicians – he added.

08:09

Sasin on KGHM and Campaign Financing:

I Cannot Admit to Something That Didn't Happen. This is Szczerba's Story, Who Wanted to Make a Name for Himself in the Campaign Against PiS,
- I cannot admit to something that didn't happen. Firstly, on what basis do you claim KGHM financed anything, because there are absolutely no grounds for that, that's the first point. This is some story by Mr. Szczerba, who wanted to make a name for himself in the general campaign against the Law and Justice party, connected precisely with us losing subsidies - said Jacek Sasin on TVN24.

- Secondly, please tell me that this company Berm is not a company that was connected in any way with Law and Justice [...] this company also carried out gigantic contracts during the Civic Platform's time in power - he continued.

08:13

Sasin:

A Hunt Has Been Underway for Me for Months
- A hunt has been underway for me for many months, announced by a prominent politician from Civic Platform, Mr. Gramatyka, who said that they would surely find some paragraph for Sasin and that they would certainly shoot him down. Mr. Budka searched very hard, now Mr. Jaworowski is searching in companies, he found nothing, so something has to be created - Jacek Sasin said on TVN24.

08:19

Sasin:

I believe in the honesty of Michał K.
- I would like to find out how this matter actually looked. I believe in the honesty of Mr. President [Michał K., former head of RARS], I had the opportunity to observe him at work during the crisis and I believe he is a patriot, but I do not know the evidence in this case - said Jacek Sasin on TVN24. - I have great doubts, because we live in times when, unfortunately, the law in Poland has been suspended and I fear that we will not be able to find out what really happened in the near future - he continued.

08:20

"An Announcement of Tidying Up the Legal Mess of the Last 8 Years." Grabiec on Tusk’s Words Regarding "Fighting Democracy"
- This is an announcement that we will be tidying up the legal mess that has been created over the last 8 years - said Jan Grabiec in “Gość Radia ZET”, when asked by Bogdan Rymanowski about the Prime Minister's statement regarding “fighting democracy”. - Today, in the legal system in Poland, there are institutions staffed by individuals who should not be there, according to court rulings - for example, the Supreme Court, which has several dozen so-called neo-judges, meaning individuals who, according to rulings by the Supreme Court and the CJEU, are not judges. They put on robes, they come, they issue some rulings, even though they are not judges. This needs to be put in order - he continued.

08:24

Bodnar on revoking counter-signatures:

We had two special circumstances.

- I don't think so [that revoking the counter-signature is reckless]. Especially since we had two special circumstances in this matter - stated Adam Bodnar in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- Firstly, a complaint was filed with the Administrative Court by two judges of the Civil Chamber, and if a complaint is filed, the body that made the decision, or participated in making the decision in this case, has the right to make a change, this self-control - the Minister of Justice continued.

As Bodnar said: - Secondly, there is also a special deadline. As long as this decision did not materialize, as long as this assembly of the Civil Chamber in the Supreme Court did not take place, this action could be taken.

08:24

Sasin on Expelling Czarnecki from PiS:

If the court confirms the charges, it's obvious.
- This matter simply needs to be clarified. [...] If the court actually confirms these charges, then it is also obvious what Ryszard Czarnecki's future in politics should be - Jacek Sasin said on TVN24. - If the court confirms this, it is obvious, there is no room for dishonesty, but let's wait and not judge someone prematurely - he continued, when asked if Ryszard Czarnecki should be expelled from PiS.

08:29

Bodnar on Revoking the Counter-Signature:

The Decision Has Been Communicated to the Supreme Court

- A decision was issued by the Prime Minister under the relevant provision of the Code of Administrative Court Procedure, which had, as it were, two parts. One is the withdrawal of that counter-signature and its revocation. This decision consisted of two such elements, and this decision has, of course, been communicated to the Supreme Court - stated Adam Bodnar in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

- I think that this decision, or at least the operative part of the decision to withdraw the counter-signature by the Prime Minister, should be published consistently - he continued.

08:30

Grabiec on Withdrawing Counter-Signature:

The Letter of the Law Was Not Crossed.
- I am aware of Professor Zoll’s opinion, and I also know the opinions of many other distinguished lawyers who say that this is a permissible path [for the Prime Minister to withdraw a counter-signature]. […] In a democracy, it is normal for legal authorities to have different opinions on complex legal matters - Jan Grabiec said on “Gość Radia ZET”. “No Violation of the Letter of the Law Occurred” - Here, no violation of the letter of the law occurred. On the contrary, after a complaint was filed by legal judges of the Supreme Court, Civil Chamber, the Prime Minister decided to consider this complaint. One could say that he could have acted like a head of government and said: “I am not interested in such complaints, let the courts deal with it, I am above it” - he continued. - No – he stated that the Prime Minister is also bound by law. If a mistake was made, we admit to that mistake, also in a formal sense - he emphasized. “A Complaint Allows Any Body to Withdraw a Decision” As he continued, referring to the legal basis: - Lawyers agree that the Prime Minister could not have withdrawn this counter-signature on his own, but at the moment a complaint was filed last Friday, according to administrative procedure, this complaint allows any body in Poland to withdraw a decision.

08:37

Constitutional Tribunal for Tusk over revoking counter-signature? Grabiec: Pathetic saber-rattling from the opposition
- Pathetic saber-rattling from the opposition. Quite the opposite – the Prime Minister's indifference to the complaint of the Civil Chamber judges would certainly lead to much worse consequences than this decision – said Jan Grabiec in "Gość Radia ZET", referring to the statement that the Prime Minister will be brought before the Constitutional Tribunal for revoking the counter-signature.

08:40

Bodnar Announces Venice Commission Visit

- The Venice Commission is arriving this week to meet with various individuals and institutions responsible for the functioning of the prosecution service, as the subject of the opinion will be the separation of the offices of the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General - stated Adam Bodnar on Polsat News's "Graffiti" program.

08:45

Grabiec:

The President's Opinion on Rule of Law is Irrelevant. He Sits on the Dock with Neo-Judges
- President Andrzej Duda's opinion on the rule of law in Poland has been completely irrelevant for many years. [...] He is a co-author of the regulations that destroyed the rule of law in Poland's justice system, introduced neo-judges, pseudo-judges, and still shelters them under his protection – said Jan Grabiec on "Gość Radia ZET". - He sits on the dock alongside those judges who have tried to dismantle Poland's constitutional law system – he emphasized.

08:53

Grabiec:

We Fulfilled More of Our Program Than Any Other Party After an Election

– Should we apologize for not fulfilling 100 specific points – yes or no? – Bogdan Rymanowski asked on "Gość Radia ZET" (Guest of Radio ZET).

– We introduced more specific points and fulfilled a larger part of our program than any other party after an election – replied Jan Grabiec.

09:03

Grabiec:

The Concept of 'Fighting Democracy' Has Been Present in Legal Doctrine Since at Least Denazification
- The concept of 'fighting democracy' is not entirely new. It has been present in legal doctrine at least since the time of denazification, the entire process of restoring the democratic system in Germany - said Jan Grabiec on "Gość Radia ZET". - I am not comparing [the PiS government to the rule of the NSDAP], but I am comparing the legal situation in which constitutional standards were broken, this was introduced by legal provisions, in accordance with democratic procedures initially, although completely against the provisions of the constitution, or the values that guide democracy - he continued. As he stated: - Reversing this process requires democracy to resort to extraordinary, non-standard actions, such as adhering to procedures written into laws, because those laws contained provisions whose adherence led to war, genocide. This needs to be changed. We have provisions that have led to complete chaos in Poland, and this needs to be radically changed.

09:22

Grabiec:

It's untrue that 30% of donations to PO came from developers
- I even saw some analyses online suggesting that developers allegedly donated to PO. That's a complete fake [that the amount is PLN 6 million]. Someone took names from the donation register that we published and concluded that since Jan Kowalski lives in Warsaw and there's a developer in the National Court Register, or someone who installs gas systems, who is also named Jan Kowalski, that it's likely the same person - said Jan Grabiec in "Gość Radia ZET". - Of course, that's untrue - he stated, when asked if he denied that 30% of the donations were from developers.

09:36

Grabiec Announces Intensive Work on Government Housing Projects:

I Think We Will Reach an Agreement on the 0% Loan.
- We are discussing this matter [0% loan] among ministers. I think we will reach an agreement. The Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers is deliberating on it today - said Jan Grabiec in “Gość Radia ZET”. - It’s a bit of a shame, perhaps, that opinions are often formulated in the media rather than in direct dialogue, but I believe we will fix this, and the coming days and weeks will bring intensive work, so that the government’s comprehensive housing economy projects are adopted by the government - he stated.

09:39

Żukowska Distances Herself from the Behavior of, Among Others, Grandma Kasia:

I Don't Identify with Them.

- I don't identify with and have repeatedly distanced myself from the behavior of people participating in these events, including the so-called Grandma Kasia, Ms. Katarzyna Augustynek. I believe she very strongly destabilizes various public events in a very aggressive way that I do not like and with which I do not agree - stated Anna-Maria Żukowska in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

09:40

Żukowska on the Revocation of Counter-Signature:

Rather Deepening Chaos and Distrust in the Rule of Law.

- I am afraid this will be poorly received by society, because it is rather deepening chaos and a lack of trust in the rule of law. A mistake was made, let's not get into whose mistake it was anymore, because now I'm reading that the Prime Minister made the mistake, earlier we heard that it was Minister Berek, so regardless of who made the mistake, if a mistake has been made, then one must take responsibility for its consequences and not make it again - stated Anna-Maria Żukowska on Radio Plus.

- However, trying to erase this with an eraser, I am afraid, will end with the Supreme Court ruling that it is not binding, and therefore Mr. Wesołowski will still be the curator organizing the competition in the Supreme Court, and this will simply deepen this chaos, because further matters will be challenged by both sides - she continued.

09:41

Żukowska on so-called neo-judges:

They are certainly judges, it's just that their promotions will be verified.

- They will remain judges, so all these stories that neo-judges are not judges, no one questions that they are in a judicial capacity. It's simply that their promotions will be annulled, they will be verified, and they will be able to reapply for competitions. Until they pass this verification, they will be returned to their previous place of employment - stated Anna-Maria Żukowska on Radio Plus.

- They are certainly judges, it's just that their promotions will be verified - she continued.

09:46

Hołownia Suggests Not Appointing New Constitutional Tribunal Judges

One interesting thing that emerged from yesterday's discussion. I was wondering if we in the Sejm should fill the seats that are about to become vacant in the Constitutional Tribunal. And the unanimous conclusion of all experts who participated in yesterday's meeting is that we should not. And now we must take this into account, this voice, it was unambiguous, very clear – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

Do not fill these seats in Julia Przyłębska's Constitutional Tribunal. Even if by some miracle there were those willing to work with Przyłębska in the Tribunal and be in the minority there. Do not fill them, do not enter this poisoned well, this poisoned pond. Let's wait until we can solve this issue systemically. And to this voice, we, as the chamber, will have to respond in a serious manner – he continued.

09:49

Hołownia Announces Meeting with All Ministers and Vice-Ministers of Poland 2050
- Today I have [...] a meeting with all the ministers and vice-ministers of Poland 2050, where we will have a tough and factual discussion about what has been achieved, what the plans are, and how to cooperate constructively and sensibly within this coalition for the benefit of those who elected us - said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference.

09:54

"When I Get the Chance to Talk to Tusk, I'll Ask Him What Exactly He Meant." Hołownia on "Fighting Democracy"

- Please relieve me of this obligation [to analyze Donald Tusk's words]. When I get the opportunity to speak with him, I will ask him what exactly he meant. For now, I am assuming, for the sake of argument, that he meant fighting to restore the rule of law in Poland, that we truly need to work from morning till night to ensure everything moves in the right direction - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

- He didn't mean any internal conflict, I don't believe that. He didn't mean any civil war, any fight of one faction against another, because today we need cooperation. I know it's a terrible word, but sometimes medicine isn't pleasant to look at, but we need unity, not uniformity, the ability to agree on matters when someone else wants to harm us. So, I understand it as a declaration of a strong, hard political fight. In this, I will strongly support the Prime Minister - he continued.

- Both the Prime Minister and I, it seems, belong to that category which is sometimes called 'fighters' in politics, meaning people who fight, who don't sit idly by, but move forward and fight. So, we will fight - emphasized the Marshal of the Sejm.

09:58

Grabiec Announces Change and Addresses Ministers:

I'm Not Satisfied with the Government's External Communication.
- Externally, the government's communication in recent months has appeared more like squabbling or arguments between government ministers than a cohesive policy. I am not satisfied with this communication myself. I think it will change - said Jan Grabiec on "Gość Radia ZET". Grabiec to Ministers: If Everyone Scratches Their Own Barnacles - Nothing Will Come of It - I think the quarrels will end. There may be substantive disputes, but the government is the way to resolve them. […] I think this communication will be better, because I believe it is reaching everyone in the government camp that highlighting one's own critical stance towards colleagues in the government is pointless, because everyone expects […] that the government will govern, that it will reach an agreement, that it will propose cohesive solutions, and that the private opinion of this or that minister does not interest anyone - he continued. - You went into power to govern, and if everyone scratches their own barnacles - nothing will come of it - he emphasized.

10:05

Hołownia:

I Consider the Prime Minister's Decision Controversial

- This is not any evasion or escape, but I am dealing with the Supreme Court and I know that the cancer that was introduced into the Polish justice system and constitutional judiciary has also reached there. Do you remember the two rulings on the same matter issued by the same Supreme Court when we were discussing Kamiński and Wąsik - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

- This is a very serious problem, for which there are no simple answers and often binary solutions. I consider the Prime Minister's decision to be controversial, I say this completely openly, but I know and believe that he made it, as he said yesterday, after consulting with many authorities, some of whom said that black is black, and others that white is white and that it is so, and not so, they changed these sentences crosswise - he continued.

As the Marshal of the Sejm added: - He had to make some decision, it was not a simple decision. It is probably a controversial decision, but we have to work in the conditions that are available today.

10:08

Dispersed Constitutional Review and the Expectation of a New President. Hołownia on Further Possible Steps Regarding the Constitutional Tribunal
- Judge Piotrowicz, Ms. Pawłowicz, Ms. Przyłębska will be issuing 17, 18, 150 interim measures daily, which will prohibit the Sejm from doing things, the Senate from doing things, and they will think they are spinning the Earth and sitting in a control room where they can shut down the Sejm here, the Prime Minister there, and do various other things. We cannot forbid them from doing this, unfortunately, we are funding it with our taxes - said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference. "Many eminent law professors have stated that this is not the Constitutional Tribunal" - This tribunal will naturally have to be repaired after [...] the election of a president [...]. Until then, we will be in dispute with the Constitutional Tribunal in its current form. Yesterday, there were also many questions as to whether this is even the Constitutional Tribunal, and many eminent law professors have stated that it is not the Constitutional Tribunal, but a group that convenes and sits there - he continued. "It may happen that dispersed constitutional review will have to be implemented for some time" - We had such a policy, relating to the case with MP Śliz, where we sent a representative of the parliament to the tribunal; we will not be sending a representative of the parliament to the tribunal [...]. I hope that the future president will sign these two laws [on the TK], however [...] it may happen that dispersed constitutional review will have to be implemented for some time, there are various models available - he went on to say.

10:32

"Some Question His Mental State." Kaczyński on Tusk and "Fighting Democracy"
- It's hard to say whether to laugh or cry, because on the one hand, it's a reminder of Stalinism in its elements, which were, on the one hand, terribly dangerous, but on the other hand, also amusing in their own way - said Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm, when asked about the Prime Minister's words about “fighting democracy”. - It's a strange thing that an educated historian doesn't know this and does this kind of thing. Well, but some are currently questioning, let's be frank, his mental state - added the PiS chairman.

11:51

Morawiecki on Whom He Would Support in the US:

Nations Have Eternal Interests, Not Eternal Alliances.

- Today, frightening people with Trump goes against Poland's national interest. Just as rejecting the Democratic candidate solely for ideological reasons would be a bad habit. Ideologically, I am closer to the Republican candidate than to the Democratic candidate, however, nations have eternal interests, not eternal alliances - said Mateusz Morawiecki in a recording published on social media.

14:31

Hołownia:

Difficulties Cannot Be an Excuse. The Time for Complaining About PiS is Over
- We did not find the state in an optimal or, I won't even say ideal, condition, but we had to face many difficulties at the beginning. However, these difficulties cannot be a constant excuse for us, because we see the expectations of our voters, the voters of the October 15th coalition. They do not want us to explain to them that PiS destroyed and spoiled, and therefore we can do nothing - said Szymon Hołownia during a meeting with ministers and deputy ministers of Polska 2050. - The time for complaining about PiS is over, as I have already said. We must be aware that they did what they did. Now we will be judged not on what we say about what they did, but on what we will do. Today, we must move forward vigorously, and we must move forward within the October 15th coalition, and we must move forward together within the Third Way - he continued.

14:39

Hołownia Points to the Ruling Coalition's Weakest Link:

We Must Face the Truth Today.
- Do you know what the weakest part of the coalition of October 15th is? Communication. That is the weakest part of our coalition. We are unable to articulate what we have done. Because the media also set such demands for us, and it's hard to blame them, we highlight those things where we differ, we highlight those things that we haven't done - said Szymon Hołownia during a meeting with ministers and deputy ministers of Poland 2050. - I often hear such questions from the media: Jesus, Mary, how is it that you're doing nothing, that nothing is working, that it's all going to collapse any minute now? If nothing is working, look at how much has been done in the area of defense, look at how much has been done in the past 9 months to restore the rule of law, look at how many social programs have been launched, look at how much has been done concerning the green transformation, and energy - he continued. - We really must face the truth today, with honesty and with an open visor, speak about what we have managed to accomplish, because otherwise the narrative that we are only here for arguments will dominate, and that is a deeply untrue narrative - he went on to say.

15:10

"Unfortunately, the Freezer Worked": Buda on the "Stop Price Hikes" Bill

- Today there was hope that this project [Stop Price Hikes] would actually be processed and adopted. It turns out that unfortunately, the freezer has worked here. This means that the committee chairman, Ryszard Petru, has redirected this bill to a subcommittee. This, in practice, means freezing and shelving this bill for weeks, or perhaps months to come - stated Waldemar Buda at a press briefing in the Sejm.

16:50

Former PiS MEP Ryszard C. Detained by CBA

- Today, around 4 p.m. at Warsaw airport, CBA agents detained former MEP Ryszard C. At the same time, his wife Emilia H. was detained in Warsaw. - informed the press spokesman for the Minister of the Interior and Administration and coordinator for special services.

17:05

Klich:

I Will Not Comment on Any Actions of the Future US President. I Will Cooperate With Anyone

The Sejm Foreign Affairs Committee debated candidacies for new ambassadors of the Republic of Poland. Among them is Bogdan Klich, who is slated to head the mission in the USA.

- How does the senator envision fulfilling the office of ambassador if Donald Trump becomes president, given the record of posts that are essentially offensive to President Trump? - asked Krzysztof Bosak during the session.

- You accused President Trump of wanting to join the rebels occupying the Capitol - you stated that it was "terrifying, but not surprising" and concluded that it was a friendship with "this unbalanced politician who disrespects democracy." [...] You stated that Trump is Putin's puppet, "he would hand over the whole of Ukraine on a silver platter, and the USA for dessert." […] You also stated that Trump's presidency "ends with disgraceful riots at the Capitol." - he continued.

"I Will Not Comment on Any Actions of the Future President, Regardless of Who It May Be. I Will Cooperate With Anyone"

The candidate for ambassador to the United States responded to the question from the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm.

- You quoted three [...] tweets. I could also quote many of your posts on the same social media channel, which are significantly more radical in their rhetoric on various domestic and foreign matters. That's just how it is, parliamentarians go further. […] Ministers must be very restrained. And diplomats must be the most restrained - stated Bogdan Klich.

- Allow me not to refer to those formulations you quoted. I will only say that every head of a Polish mission in the United States has an obligation to work with any president elected by the American people - regardless of whether they are a Democrat or a Republican - he emphasized.

As he assured: - I guarantee you that, respecting the office of the head of mission in Washington, I will not comment on any actions of the future president, regardless of who it may be. But I will cooperate - for the sake of our country's interests - with whomever the Americans entrust with this position.

18:49

Wipler:

The Government Should File a Complaint with the ECJ. I Want Germany to Pay for Border Closures
- Tomorrow, as part of topical interpellations, Confederation MPs will demand detailed information from the government on how we will ensure the Republic of Germany adheres to European law - said Przemysław Wipler in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the "Gość Radia ZET" program regarding controls on the Polish-German border. - The Polish government should file a complaint with the Court of Justice of the European Union, just as the Czechs filed one against us in the Turów case, and as other countries have repeatedly filed complaints against Poland for failing to implement EU law. Poland should, preferably in coalition with several other countries, submit such a request; this is one of the tools, to demand an explanation - he continued. - We should say: withdraw from this, or we will pursue a complaint and you will pay heavy millions for every day of delay [...]. I want Germany to pay for closing the Polish border - he added.

18:53

Wipler on the Constitutional Tribunal Situation:

We Should Elect New Judges.
- We should elect new judges [to the Constitutional Tribunal] [...] that is what the Constitution dictates, that is the law – Przemysław Wipler said on Radio ZET. - It would be difficult to explain to them if they elected three of their own, while still not having a majority, why they do not respect rulings during the transitional period between the time when judges are already elected by them, by the current majority, and the moment they regain political control [...] over the Constitutional Tribunal – he continued.

18:56

Wipler Cites Alleged Statement by Poland 2050 MP Regarding PSL:

We Need to Stop Pretending to Be Friends with Those Moustachioed Boors.
- Last week, when I was at the Economic Forum in Karpacz [...] one of the MPs from Poland 2050 said that he couldn't wait for the presidential elections because then we would have to stop pretending to be friends with those moustachioed boors, and he meant his colleagues in the coalition from the Polish People's Party - Przemysław Wipler told Radio ZET.

19:04

Wipler on the Need to Change Pre-Trial Detention Rules:

We Will Submit a Bill.
- I am very pleased that next Monday there will be a discussion and a special session of the Justice and Human Rights Committee in the Sejm [...] concerning the abuse of the institution of pre-trial detention, because in my opinion this is a very important problem. Courts too easily approve detentions, they are too opportunistic, they have little time, they receive gigantic evidentiary material, they lack resources - said Przemysław Wipler on Radio ZET.

- We will submit a draft bill changing the rules for the application of pre-trial detention, regardless of how the discussion concludes next Monday - he continued.

19:09

Wipler on Marijuana Legalization:

We Have Such a Bill, But We Know Bosak and His National Movement Colleagues Don't Like It.
- I am in favour of at least decriminalization; decriminalization is one step, the second part is legalization, i.e., introducing marijuana into legal circulation - said Przemysław Wipler on Radio ZET. - I will sign such a bill [...] we even have such a draft, but we also know that this is something that Krzysztof Bosak and our colleagues from the National Movement, for example, do not like. We understand their difference of opinion, their difference in sensitivity; they consider it to be a certain taboo subject - he continued. - Just because something should be legal doesn't mean we think it's good, cool, and non-invasive - he added.

19:17

Klich Receives Positive Opinion from Foreign Affairs Committee

Bogdan Klich – the candidate for the head of the Polish diplomatic mission in the United States – has received a positive opinion from the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee.

15 members of the committee voted "for," while 12 MPs voted against, and no one abstained.

19:49

Szydło on Czarnecki: If the law was broken, consequences must be drawn. Let the services work
- It is difficult to comment on this event [the arrest of Ryszard Czarnecki] at this moment, because we know too little about it. I think we need to wait for information from the services, for the situation to develop, and also to allow the MEP himself to speak on this matter - said Beata Szydło in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń". - If the law was broken, then of course consequences must be drawn. But at this stage, commenting on this matter would only be commenting on what we know from the media. I think we need to let the services work at this moment - she continued.

19:55

Szydło:

Tusk Believes His Tweets Should Be the Interpretation of the Law
- The Prime Minister of the Polish government [...] talking about 'fighting democracy' is playing with the law and has no regard for the rule of law. One can get the impression that Donald Tusk has decided that his Twitter posts should be the interpretation of the law in Poland - said Beata Szydło in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:03

Szydło:

If I Spoke Like Tusk, Brussels Would Hold Daily Meetings to Scold Poland for Rule of Law Breaches
- I think he [Donald Tusk] speaks this way because he knows that, for example, here in Brussels, he won't face any consequences. Just imagine if such phrasing were used by, say, Prime Minister Beata Szydło, back when I headed the government – there would probably be daily meetings here in Brussels, in Strasbourg, on what to do and how to scold the Polish government for breaking the rule of law – said Beata Szydło in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:14

Pomaska to Bogucki: Fear Has Entered Your Eyes

- First the prosecutor, then the court. I am calm and I trust the current prosecutor's office that everything they do is based on documents, and I think your laughter is the best proof that you are simply afraid. Fear has entered your eyes, these trips to London by Ms. Emilewicz and Mr. Dworczyk are a sign of fear of what your colleague will testify to the prosecutor, without having contact with you - stated Agnieszka Pomaska on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:14

Szydło on Presidential Elections:

To Be or Not to Be for Poland.
- I hope that these proposed changes, which will likely be presented soon and perhaps the party congress will deal with them in the near future, will lead to PiS functioning even better and more effectively. Because very important elections are ahead of us – the presidential elections - said Beata Szydło in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - This is a matter of being or not being for Poland. If the candidate of our party does not win these elections, the situation in the country and Poland's position, as well as what is happening here in Brussels, will head in a very bad direction - she assessed.
