Domański on the 100 Billion PLN Under Scrutiny:

It's Exactly as the Prime Minister Said.

- Exactly, but we are talking here about scrutinized funds, scrutinized meaning those expenditures that raise doubts. So, it is exactly as Prime Minister Tusk said. 100 billion is under scrutiny, 5 billion is the amount of identified irregularities, and notifications have already been filed for over 3 billion - stated Andrzej Domański in "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

08:37

"It's Not Over Yet." Domański on "Enormous Amounts"

- The Prime Minister presented the figures very precisely, as well as what has been established so far: 100 billion is the amount currently being investigated, which raises suspicions; 5 billion represents identified irregularities; and over 3 billion zloty have already led to notifications filed with the prosecutor's office. So we are talking about enormous amounts, and I think this is not the end – stated Andrzej Domański on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

08:45

Siemoniak on the Commission on Russian Influence:

She Has Done a Lot So Far. Now Entering the Decisive Phase of Work.
- I know what the [Commission on Russian Influence] has done so far, it has done a lot, practically every week there are meetings, commission members have obtained access to classified information, which is not a short procedure either, it needs to be carefully verified, these are primarily scientists who have not dealt with administration, with certificates [...] the commission has also obtained [...] hundreds, thousands of documents from ministries, from companies, and now it is entering the decisive phase of its work - said Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Iwona Kutyna on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

08:52

Domański on changes to the health contribution:

We are refining a potential solution.

- We are refining a potential solution, but it is very important to me that it is a joint solution, agreed upon by all coalition parties. I would like to remind you that we have a proposal from Lewica, PSL, and naturally, the proposal from Polska 2050 submitted to the Sejm. I must also mention that as early as March, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health jointly submitted a proposal for changes to the health contribution for entrepreneurs - stated Andrzej Domański in "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

"Gestapo Methods": Siemoniak on Cenckiewicz Commission's Attempt to Access Files
- An absolutely disgraceful, scandalous action. Just two days after the elections [...] Mr. Cenckiewicz writes to the SKW [Military Counterintelligence Service], demanding files on specific individuals. This is not about any hidden secrets, there's no talk of investigating anything, it's simply 'give us the files on these specific people.' It so happens that these were PiS critics over these past 8 years, there was no other background to this - said Tomasz Siemoniak on Radio Zet. - They have simply given a testimony about themselves, about how such things should not be done. In a slightly different context and concerning a different person, Antoni Macierewicz, President Duda called such methods Gestapo or SB [Security Service] methods, and he hit the nail on the head here. These were simply Gestapo methods. Someone doesn't like someone, someone has criticized, 'give us their file,' if not theirs, then their father's, grandfather's. Yes, this is disgraceful, and General Stróżek's commission guarantees that such practices will not occur - he continued.

09:02

Siemoniak:

We Want to Amend the Prime Minister's Ordinance on Operational Control Applications
- The Pegasus affair [...] is of great importance, and the Polish state simply must draw conclusions from it. We want to amend the Prime Minister's ordinance, which specifies what an application for operational control should look like, so that a judge knows everything. The collegium of special services has already given its positive opinion on this direction, so we are preparing the documents to avoid a situation where a judge doesn't know what operational control should entail - said Tomasz Siemoniak on Radio Zet. - Services must have tools, but citizens must have certainty that courts are thoroughly examining all these applications, that it's not the case that one judge [...] is sitting somewhere in a basement, buried under papers, has to do these things quickly, and doesn't have the strength or time to delve into everything - he continued.

09:09

Siemoniak on Agreement with Justice and Finance Ministers: It Must Be Good if It So Angered Kaczyński
- I believe this is a very important moment, and President Kaczyński, who heavily criticized this agreement, made me think: it must be a good agreement if it so angered the President, and he was spinning some kind of deliberations that the Minister of Interior cannot sign an agreement with the Minister of Justice - said Tomasz Siemoniak on Radio Zet. - I thought to myself that since the President noticed it and got upset, it means it's a bullseye - he continued.

09:16

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Defense Spending:

The Armed Forces Support Fund Must Be Maintained, Even Increased.

- Every minister wants as much spending as possible in their area, but there is understanding, and I thank Minister Domański very much for his sensitivity and understanding of defense needs. This is the most important matter. Moreover, the Prime Minister has publicly stated that there will be no limitations. We included this in point number 1 of our coalition agreement, security matters – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

- Regarding the Armed Forces Support Fund, as a white paper has been created, I am in favor of maintaining the Armed Forces Support Fund. I will say more, it will be record-breaking next year because we are already working on the assumptions for this fund today, it will be record-breaking. Much, much larger than what our predecessors left us. The problem we inherited from our predecessors is the lack of secured funds for many contracts they entered into. They largely signed framework agreements, not executable ones. These are easier to sign because the scale of expenditure doesn't need to be precisely defined yet – he continued.

09:17

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Domański's proposal regarding health contribution:

Insufficient.

- I believe this is insufficient [reversing the health contribution on fixed assets]. Each grouping has its priorities. The issue of the 'grandmother's benefit,' which was important for Civic Platform, has passed. The issue of widow's pension was a joint one, but The Left strongly raised it. For Third Way, from these economic areas, the fundamental issue is the health contribution – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Polsat News.

09:17

Kosiniak-Kamysz Announces Important Legislation to be Declared on August 15th

- Final touches. Yesterday, I worked on this project with a team of experts. The entire club, under the leadership of Marshal Zgorzelski, is working on it. We are ready. Tomorrow morning, during the traditional meeting at the Witos monument – because there are many state ceremonies, but we, the Peasants' Party members, have always started our meeting at the Witos monument, and I will, of course, participate this year as well. We will announce 2 laws. One is about patriotic upbringing, the second will strictly concern the hero of the Battle of Warsaw, the Prime Minister of the government of unity and national salvation, Wincenty Witos – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Polsat News.

09:18

Kosiniak-Kamysz Proposes a United Coalition Candidate for Presidential Elections

- I don't think that will happen. Donald Tusk is very committed to the cause he sacrificed for, the cause for which he returned to Poland. No, Civic Platform will certainly put forward its own candidate. There is always the possibility of a joint candidate. For example, Szymon Hołownia, if he were a joint candidate, would have huge chances of winning – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Polsat News.

"Equality Means Equality": Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Advocates for Aligning Retirement Ages for Women and Men

- This is interesting because the voices are from both sides. Meaning, voices are rising from men who say it's discrimination because they have to work 5 years longer, and from women who say it's discrimination because they receive lower pensions. This is simply because women, and this is already a reality, women live longer. If they retire earlier and live longer, and we know that pensions are calculated also considering the period of being on that pension, the result is that the pension they receive is very often simply the minimum pension, and that's why it's so important to talk about it. Not to hide this difficult topic under the rug, because it is difficult, but to talk and explain that longer work, if that is the choice of a senior citizen, leads to higher contributions and a dignified, better pension – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on TVP Info.

- I personally, now I'm speaking privately as myself, believe that we should bring the retirement age for women and men closer. This is my personal opinion. I'm not speaking as a minister now, I'm speaking as a private individual. I am very much in favor of equality in all possible areas, and equality means equality. This means equal pay for women, but I am also in favor of aligning the retirement age, I am in favor of equal care for children in the event of divorce. All these areas must be viewed equally from both sides. Meaning, equality means equality – she added.

10:21

Domański on GDP Growth:

Economy Accelerates.

- The economy is accelerating. GDP growth in the 2nd quarter was 3.2% - significantly above market expectations (2.7%) - wrote Minister Andrzej Domański on Twitter.

At the same time, GUS (Statistics Poland) informed today that prices of consumer goods and services in July increased at a rate of 4.2% year-on-year.

Increased Penalties for Insulting the Polish Uniform. PiS Submits Bill Draft
- We are submitting a bill draft called "Murem za polskim mundurem" (Shoulder to Shoulder for the Polish Uniform), a bill that primarily concerns two issues. Firstly, it is an increase in the penalty for insulting the Polish uniform, which applies to both Polish soldiers, Border Guard officers, and police officers who are insulted in connection with the performance of their duties or the fulfillment of their functions. The second aspect, which I think is even more important, is the issue of changing the procedure in which these cases can be tried, i.e., enabling the trial of such cases by so-called 24-hour courts, in such a way, here we are introducing a modification, so that the entire procedure begins from the moment the identity of the perpetrators is established - said Anna Gembicka at a press conference. - This bill draft did not come out of nowhere, it did not come from nothing, but it is a concrete response to the events that took place in the village of Wyczółki, hence in this bill we are assuming an increase in the upper penalty to 5 years for such offenses, which are criminalized in the Penal Code in articles 222, 223, 226, this is active assault on an officer, it is insulting an officer, it is undertaking any other actions that insult the Polish uniform - said Andrzej Śliwka.

11:23

Everyone Surprised by Poland's Economic Growth in Q2. Tusk on 'Beating Germans Hands Down'
Everyone is surprised by the growth of the Polish economy in the second quarter of this year. It was expected to be 2.7%, but it's 3.2%. We are doing better than all large EU countries, and we're beating the Germans hands down - Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on Twitter.

12:14

Siemoniak:

Another Person Arrested Last Week for Planning Acts of Sabotage on Polish Territory
All services have been strongly focused on issues related to new threats. I mean acts of sabotage commissioned by foreign services; this is a matter we have been informing the public about for many months, to the extent that we can. If there is no public information, do not think that nothing is happening in these matters. Without revealing any further details, I can say that another person, connected with carrying out, planning, and attempting acts of sabotage on Polish territory, was arrested last week – stated Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference.

12:37

Wójcik on the Romanowski Case:

If a situation like this occurred in our times, the Venice Commission would have been here long ago.

- If a situation like the one we are facing in this matter, with so many improbable stories we are encountering, were to occur in our times, I want to tell you that the Venice Commission would have been here long ago, the European Commission would probably have issued a statement by now, some rule of law protection experts would already be arriving here, and journalists who have walked these corridors for the last 8 years and constantly asked me questions about the rule of law, would be standing here in front of these microphones, very concerned, worried about what is happening to Polish democracy - stated Michał Wójcik at a press briefing in the Sejm.

13:48

Nitras on Notifications to the Prosecutor's Office and CBA Regarding, Among Others, Gliński and Dworczyk:

All These People Will Be Punished.
- Cross-country skiers train here, biathletes train here, biathletes used to train and live here. [...] Someone made the decision to buy this facility, to equip the Ministry of Sport with this facility. The Ministry of Sport paid nearly 80 million PLN for the whole thing, and everything would seem to be okay, if not for three minor details. First, these facilities were practically built earlier with money from the Ministry of Sport, because we bought them from the municipality. Here, the role of Minister Dworczyk and his colleague, the mayor, was probably crucial. First, these facilities were bought with money from the Ministry of Sport, and then Minister Gliński, either forced or on his own volition, bought these facilities, even though he had previously paid for their construction - said Sławomir Nitras at a press conference in front of the Central Sports Center in Dusznikach-Zdrój. - Until 2021, there was an accommodation and hotel facility here, where, among others, athletes who used these facilities stayed. And imagine, at the moment when we, as the Ministry of Sport, Minister Gliński bought this facility, under circumstances unknown to me, which we will ascertain, this facility was stripped of its equipment, devastated, and since it was bought, it has been closed and is out of operation. Additionally, it was bought without securing the water intake, so the facility is without water - he continued. - We paid 80 million PLN for this. The facilities generate 200,000 PLN in revenue, and every year we subsidize this partially closed facility, beyond the sports facilities, by 7 million PLN annually. And this is precisely part of that 100 billion, just one segment of the 100 billion that Prime Minister Tusk is talking about. [...] We will try to save this facility [...] but at the same time, we will not forget that there have been massive neglects and financial abuses here, and all those who were involved in this process, both the director of the Central Sports Center [...] and Minister Gliński, Minister Dworczyk [...] who should have represented the state and the interests of the State Treasury, but instead cared for private interests, cared for the interests of their colleagues. All these people will be punished. We have filed the appropriate notifications with the prosecutor's office, and we have filed notifications with the CBA - he added.

13:52

"We Extend an Open Hand to the President": Kosiniak-Kamysz on Serafin's Candidacy for EU Commissioner
Legislation is very important, but I must be honest, what has always been equally important to me in politics, no less important, are good customs and practices. We extend an open hand to Mr. President [Duda]. We are proposing an apolitical, well-prepared candidate, who has a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and who has a chance to negotiate a large budget for the Polish state and look after the interests of the Polish state – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing.

18:35

Duda to Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Thank You, Mr. Prime Minister, for the Signed Contracts.

- Before you, generals, lies an extremely important task. The constant modernization of the Polish Armed Forces is currently underway. I thank the Prime Minister and his colleagues for the signed contracts. The significant one from yesterday, long-awaited, also by me, for excellent American Apache combat helicopters, which will strengthen our Air Force and elevate it, I have no doubt, to an entirely different, truly world-class level. Thank you for the contract for light armored transporters, so greatly needed by our soldiers. We need as many modern combat vehicles as possible, so that they can serve our soldiers – stated Andrzej Duda during the ceremony of awarding general nominations.

Poland Returns to the Leader's Seat. Tusk on Poland's GDP Growth

- And after seasonal adjustment (meaning taking into account the number of working days), we have a 4.0 growth, the most in Europe. Poland is returning to the leader's seat - Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on Twitter.

20:27

Paszyk on Buda's Campaign Expenses:

I Filed a Notification with the National Electoral Commission.
- Yes, also in the Ministry of Development and Technology, during the time when Minister Buda was in charge of this building, the pretext of image-building, informational campaigns about the ministry's work, was also used to promote the host, to promote Minister Buda during the ongoing election campaign - said Krzysztof Paszyk in an interview with Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz on TVP Info's "Question of the Day". - Exactly [Waldemar Buda used public funds for his campaign beyond the limits] and this was in a very large amount, over 900,000 PLN. Therefore, today I have filed a notification with the National Electoral Commission precisely concerning the violation of the rules governing the expenditure of funds during an election campaign. What's worse, 70% of these 900,000 PLN [...] was directed to the district, to the region of Minister Buda [...] only Łódź and Minister Buda's region was the place where information about the minister's activities was disseminated - he continued.

20:31

Kołodziejczak on Politicians' Presence at Harvest Festivals:

This is Farmers' Holiday, Hands Off.

- Politicians should step away from harvest festivals, hands off. Politicians should keep their hands off harvest festivals; this is a holiday for farmers, for those who work hard. They want to be seen at harvest festivals because, in fact, politicians often use such events for self-promotion – stated Michał Kołodziejczak on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of the Event) on Polsat News.

"Politicians Should Know Their Place"

- I attend harvest festivals, but I don't put myself in the spotlight. I believe that politicians taking over these holidays is not normal at all. It's good that there isn't an election campaign, because then everyone would be showing off and present there. Politicians should know their place, they should deal with appropriate matters – he continued.

20:32

Kołodziejczak on Delayed Subsidies for Farmers:

For 8 Years, Nothing Was Done to Ensure Payments Reached Farmers Quickly.

- I can only apologize to the farmers that they haven't received this money yet, because indeed they should have, but neither Minister Siekierski, nor Kołodziejczak, nor any other minister is responsible for it. I don't want to constantly just talk and blame the past – said Michał Kołodziejczak on Polsat News.

"For at least 8 years, nothing has been done"

- Everyone in Poland should have enough sense to know that for at least 8 years, nothing has been done to ensure that these funds quickly reach Polish farmers – he added.

20:33

A Few Days, and Marshal Hołownia Will Be Able to Familiarize Himself with the Entire Proposal". Paszyk on the Presentation Date of Housing Program Principles
- I think in a few days, Marshal Szymon Hołownia will also be able to familiarize himself with the entirety of the proposals we will put forward, and he will see that there is a place for those who cannot afford housing, to facilitate their access, and for those who are looking for social housing, looking for a place to live in TBS housing associations, and for those who, like most Poles, are very strongly attached to ownership - Krzysztof Paszyk said on TVP Info. - It’s a matter of, I think, August, and it will be truly showcased - he continued.

20:41

Paszyk on the PSL's Education Proposals and Nowacka's Reaction:

The Minister Won't Mind.
- The Minister therefore won't mind that in such a National Education Commission, very broad representation of experts and representatives of social organizations will indeed sit, who will ensure that education is not politicized with every election, and that educational priorities are not changed, because schools should be resistant to these pressures – said Krzysztof Paszyk on TVP Info, when asked why create additional entities when Minister Barbara Nowacka claims to be drawing on expert knowledge.

20:46

Paszyk on Abortion and Civil Partnerships:

We Are Honest with Polish Women, We Propose Solutions to Ease Their Burden.
- We are honest with Polish women, meaning we are not proposing solutions that will be vetoed by Andrzej Duda by next July anyway. We are proposing solutions, both regarding civil partnerships and abortion, to change something for Polish women this year, to ease their burden in this dramatic situation. That's why the issue of returning to the abortion compromise is something that can be changed with President Duda, the issue of an abortion referendum - said Krzysztof Paszyk on TVP Info. - The bill on the status of a close person is also a solution that President Andrzej Duda once proposed and which he would be able to support - he continued.

20:53

Paszyk on the Ruling Coalition's Joint Presidential Candidate:

There Should Be One, If We Aim to Defeat PiS.
- I believe there can be, and there should be, such a candidate, if we are thinking about defeating PiS - Krzysztof Paszyk stated on TVP Info, when asked if the ruling coalition could have a joint presidential candidate. - The historical statistics of presidential elections between PiS and Civic Platform are 3:1 in favor of PiS. Therefore, we must draw conclusions from previous elections [...] and a candidate who is perceived as providing fuel for Law and Justice, an ideal opponent with whom one can easily distinguish oneself and mobilize the electorate, like Rafał Trzaskowski, I believe unfortunately may face difficulties in winning against a PiS candidate - he continued. - The more this joint candidate, even before the first round, is positioned in the center of the political scene, the greater the chances, in my opinion, they will have of defeating the candidate from Law and Justice - he added.
