Prosecution Sought Judge's Recusal in Romanowski Case; Court Denied Request
- The District Court in Warsaw today [...] did not grant the prosecution's request for the recusal of Judge Przemysław Dziwánski from hearing the appeal against the refusal to impose pre-trial detention on MP Marcin Romanowski - informed attorney Bartosz Lewandowski.
The prosecutor - after filing an appeal against the court's decision on the refusal to impose pre-trial detention on the PiS MP - subsequently filed a request for the recusal of the judge assigned to the case, arguing "reasonable doubt as to his impartiality".
- The judge's private preferences and sympathies may outweigh the integrity required in resolving the case - stated the prosecution.
