Wieczorek on Issuing Visas for Foreign Students:
The Law Will Be Very Restrictive.
- We met with Minister Sikorski. The issue is very serious, and Prime Minister Tusk has been expecting this system to be tightened for many months. This will require legislative changes, and therefore I am already announcing and have also informed Minister Sikorski that we are preparing such changes - Dariusz Wieczorek said on Polsat News' "Graffiti".
- This law is practically ready. It will be very restrictive when it comes to issuing visas for foreign students. I reassure you - we very much want these students to come, but our concern is that once they receive a visa, they actually study in Poland at universities - he continued.
- I think it's tens of thousands of people who obtained these visas this way over the last few years and disappeared into thin air. There are universities where 95% of students are foreign students. This already raises certain suspicions. Therefore, we have been monitoring some of these universities for many months - he added.
