The three-day session of the Sejm is scheduled to begin at 10:00. At 10:15, following the parliamentary oaths, the second reading of the parliamentary bill to amend the Penal Code will take place. This concerns the so-called change in the definition of rape. At 12:15, the second reading of the government's bill to amend the act on ensuring accessibility for persons with special needs is scheduled.

At 15:00, voting is scheduled, and at 15:15, the first reading of the government's bill to amend certain acts to improve the activities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, the Police, and the Border Guard in the event of a state security threat will occur.

At 19:00, the first reading of the parliamentary bill to amend the act on civil law transactions tax will take place. This concerns the so-called anti-flipper act submitted by MPs from the Left club.

At 11:00, the Committee on Rules of Procedure, MP Affairs and Immunity will convene. The committee is to provide an opinion to the Marshal of the Sejm on the formal correctness of Adam Szłapka's declaration regarding his consent to be prosecuted in connection with the prosecutor's motion (waiver of immunity). The next item will be the consideration of the National Prosecutor's motion to consent to the prosecution of Michał Woś.

Also at 11:00, a two-day session of the Senate will begin. It is foreseen that during this session, senators will consider the amendment to the electoral code, which will enable postal voting in presidential, Sejm and Senate, and European Parliament elections for all voters at home and abroad. Just before the start of the Senate session, at 10:50, a press conference by Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska is scheduled.

Wednesday is also the final day of President Andrzej Duda's visit to China. At 3:30 Polish time, Andrzej Duda will take part in the opening of the Polish-Chinese Economic Forum. The president's speech is planned. At 4:30, Duda will give a lecture at Fudan University. At 5:40, a meeting between the president and the management of Chipolbrok is scheduled. At 8:00, Andrzej Duda will meet with analysts from SIIS and leading Chinese think tanks in a closed session. At 9:55, a briefing for the Polish media is foreseen.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, along with other government representatives, will announce a decision on the future of CPK on Wednesday.

A joint meeting of the PSL and Poland 2050 clubs is scheduled for the evening. The main topic of the meeting is the future of the Third Way project.

Sienkiewicz Asked About the Behind-the-Scenes of Changes at TVP:

For most of the staff, editors were the most hated, which made it much easier.
- No. It’s the political kitchen, and I’d rather leave it at that. Maybe someday, I invite you, maybe you want to write a book titled “Interview with…”, a few years will pass, and we’ll tell each other then – said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in a conversation with Marcin Fijołek in Polsat News’ “Graffiti,” when asked if he would reveal the behind-the-scenes of the operation concerning changes at TVP after half a year. - Nothing special, nothing secret. Normal legal actions. All I can say is that in public television [...] for most of the staff, the most hated people were the editors who worked there. That made the whole matter much easier – he continued. - This is not a matter of experience from the services. It’s simply very painstaking legal work and convincing people, as always – he added.

08:43

Dziemianowicz-Bąk on the Future of CPK:

The Decision Will Be Based on Data, Knowledge, and Analysis of People's Needs.
- It is obvious, both for The Left and for the entire government, that infrastructure development must be invested in, but it must be invested wisely, in a way that considers not only visions and dreams of grandeur, but above all people's needs, communication needs [...]. What is obvious and has always been obvious for The Left is the necessity of investing in the development of railways, in the development of transport infrastructure, but in a development that, on the one hand, will take place in agreement and consultation with the social side, and on the other hand, will fulfill the needs of that social side, meaning people's transport needs, not the dreams of this or that CEO about large monuments - said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk in an interview with Mariusz Piekarski on "Poranek TVP Info". - If such a decision [on building CPK] is made, then such a decision will be based on data, on knowledge, on the analysis of people's needs. We should neither continue nor abandon undertakings of this or that political group just because they bear the stamp of this or that political group. [...] It is obvious to me that decentralized transport infrastructure, a railway that is, on the one hand, a high-speed railway, and on the other hand, [...] reaches where it needs to [...] is an important challenge regardless of political affiliations - she continued.

08:44

Sienkiewicz on Sovereign Poland:

A Closed Circle, Organized Crime Robbing Crime Victims
- I did not spend on my own people. I spoke about this openly, including when I presented the results of distributing money to various political environments that publish different kinds of periodicals, important from the country’s perspective. This list included hard pro-PiS intellectuals from Krakow, as well as left-wing publications. There was no other criterion here - Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz said on Polsat News’s “Graffiti”. - In the case of Solidarna Polska, we are talking about organized crime. It is organized crime that created a huge flow of money for its […] and robbed maimed people, unfortunate victims of crimes. They robbed human misfortunes in order to pursue their policy - he continued. - Here we are dealing with organized theft, which could not be sued anywhere, because who was accepting the lawsuits? Ziobro’s people. Who was defrauding and stealing this money? Ziobro’s people. Who was then covering up the tracks? Ziobro’s people. Therefore, it was a closed circle - he continued. - A normal, law-abiding state should deal with such an organized criminal group, meaning hold them accountable to the fullest. I am convinced that this will happen - he added.

08:50

Dziemianowicz-Bąk on Responding to Mass Layoffs:

I Launched an Additional PLN 50 Million from the Labour Fund.
- In order to respond to these local needs when such a problem arises, I have launched, I have made the decision to launch an additional 50 million PLN from the Labour Fund for targeted programs for those districts [...] where mass layoffs are occurring - said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk on TVP Info. - Poland, as a developing state within the European Union, will never be as competitive as countries that compete on cheap labour, sometimes by disregarding human rights, not to mention basic labour rights. But I do not want Poland's development to depend on whether Poland becomes a country of cheap workers - she continued.

08:52

Sienkiewicz:

Ziobro Behaves Like the Head of an Organized Criminal Group Trying to Evade Responsibility
- This is a very simple procedure. All it takes is to send a document signed by some hospital and some doctor stating that it is impossible [to question Zbigniew Ziobro due to health reasons]. Based on that, the commission postpones or verifies the document. This document is missing – Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz said in Polsat News's "Graffiti". - As long as there are no normal, formal medical recommendations presented as a form of exemption, Ziobro should appear, just like any other citizen obliged to do so – he stated. - Everything indicates that Ziobro already knows he will not escape responsibility and is doing everything to delay it, hoping that it might work […]. He is a man accused of, and more and more evidence is coming in to support this, creating an organized criminal group while serving as Minister of Justice. And now he is behaving like the head of an organized criminal group who wants to evade responsibility – he assessed.

08:57

Dziemianowicz-Bąk Proposes Coalition Talks on Health Contribution:

We Will Present Our Proposal.
- I am asking Ryszard Petru and Poland 2050, whether this is truly the moment to deplete the healthcare fund? In my opinion, no. [...] The Left sees that after the changes in the Polish Deal, after what Law and Justice has done [...] it is chaotic, it is disorderly, and order needs to be established. We will present our proposal in this regard, let's all sit down at the table within the framework of the October 15 coalition and discuss how, on one hand, to bring order to the issue of the health contribution, and on the other hand, not to risk the health and safety of Poles - said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk on TVP Info.

09:01

Sienkiewicz:

Changes at the WWII Museum Aren't Erasing Pilecki. We're Returning to the Essence of Museology
- As usual, they are twisting the meanings. PiS caused the demolition, they created an entire system to get their hands on this museum [Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk]. […] And regarding these accusations, let one thing be an example. Originally, there was an original photograph of Captain Pilecki, taken in a concentration camp. It's one of the most valuable mementos there was. For PiS, it wasn't enough, because they considered the photo too small, so they rebuilt the exhibition to create a large display - Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz said on Polsat News's "Graffiti". - We are returning to what is the essence of museology. This photograph will return to its place, and this is not about erasing Pilecki. […] PiS is erasing the traces of their cultural devastation, shouting: help, someone is devastating Polish culture - he added.

09:01

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Sections of the exhibition concerning Rotmistrz Pilecki, Father Kolbe, and the Ulm Family Should Be Restored Immediately

- The main exhibition of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk must be an example of what unites us, not divides us. Removing from it those who bore witness to patriotism and unwavering struggle for the good of the Fatherland is unacceptable. Sections of the exhibition concerning Rotmistrz Witold Pilecki, Father Maksymilian Kolbe, and the Ulm family should be restored immediately - wrote Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Twitter.

09:06

Dziemianowicz-Bąk on Civil Partnerships:

I Have the Impression the Polish People's Party is Looking for Further Flaws; Enough is Enough.
- This is not a whim of the Left. It is obvious that the Left wants marriage equality. It is obvious that the Left submitted parliamentary bills in the previous term and can submit such bills at any time. However, the essence of the commitment of the October 15th coalition and Prime Minister Donald Tusk is for a government bill to be created. I trust and believe that this will be achieved - said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk on TVP Info. - In my opinion, [child adoption in the civil partnership act] should certainly be included. Minister Katarzyna Kotula is constantly talking with the Polish People's Party. I sometimes have the impression that the Polish People's Party is looking for further flaws; enough is enough - she continued.

09:07

Sienkiewicz:

I can forgive PiS for those thefts and other things, but for dividing Poles - never
- They [PiS] have such a system of operation, a whole system of operation based on exclusion from Polishness. This is the worst sin one can commit in Poland. You know, I can't stand PiS, I am their enemy. But I would never say that they are not members of the Polish nation - said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in "Graffiti" Polsat News. - What PiS is doing is constantly breaking down the lowest common denominator. They say: only we are Polish patriots. Who gave them the right to say that? How much audacity must one have within themselves? […] This is a crime, this is the greatest crime that PiS has committed. All the others, those thefts, all those other things I am able to forgive them for, but this dividing of Poles - never - he emphasized.

09:14

Czarnek on Renaming PiS:

I'm Not Convinced.

- There's talk about it, about a certain rebranding of PiS. It seems to me that [the name Biało-Czerwoni – White-Reds] might be considered, although I am somehow not convinced about changing the name of PiS. I think a merger with Suwerenna Polska [Sovereign Poland] awaits us one way or another, whether it will be combined, I don't know. However, I repeat, I am not entirely convinced that PiS as a name should pass into history. I think [the name change] depends on poll ratings, it depends on the development of events, on political and sociological research, everything depends on that – stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

09:15

Czarnek on the PiS Candidate:

Szydło Has Lower Chances Than Other Candidates.
I think [Beata Szydło] has lower chances than other candidates. This is solely due to the search for a candidate who can achieve 51% in the second round. Please note that 10 years ago, precisely in 2014, we were searching for such a candidate until November 2014, and we found Andrzej Duda, who successfully competed with Komorowski. Komorowski was polling at 70% when Andrzej Duda was announced, and this stemmed from in-depth political and sociological research which showed that this candidate had a chance to defeat Komorowski. I believe that today, those searching for the PiS candidate are using precisely the same arguments – said Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

09:15

Czarnek:

Bodnar and his 'illegal prosecutors' actions will be judged harshly
This is not an accusation that could result in the loss of immunity. Mr. Michał Woś did not take any public funds from anyone, nor did he illegally transfer these funds to anyone. Every state that wants to maintain security has this type of system; it is purchased with public money. What Bodnar and his illegal prosecutors are doing will be assessed and judged harshly in the near future, one can expect this; it is an unbelievable political stunt. I am glad that Mr. Michał Woś, along with his colleagues from Suwerenna Polska, have filed a report to the prosecutor's office against Bodnar and his prosecutors – stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

09:16

Czarnek on the Situation in Lesser Poland:

I Appeal to My Friends for Reflection.
I deeply regret this and I appeal to my friends from Lesser Poland, whom I know from all sides of this conflict, to reflect on what you are doing, dear friends, because you have won the elections to the Lesser Poland Voivodeship Sejmik – said Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

09:43

Hołownia Sets Date for Sejm Consideration of Abortion Decriminalization Bill
Bill on abortion decriminalization - I am very pleased that this report will be ready soon and that the committee has reached some conclusions. My most sincere intention is for us to work on this in the next Sejm, at the first Sejm in July, whether this committee report will be on the agenda, and then we will also vote on it - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

09:48

Hołownia on the Constitutional Tribunal's Activities:

We Will Not Allow Anyone to Gag the Sejm.
I am speechless. What the Constitutional Tribunal is doing regarding the Sejm's actions is anti-state, subversive activity, it is constitutional sabotage, and we must say this clearly - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm. - We will not allow anyone to gag the Sejm, freeze the Sejm, and claim that the Sejm has been working illegally for six months, because that is legal foolishness, we must say that clearly, and it is also a violation of all imaginable democratic standards - he continued.

09:50

Hołownia Announces When Sejm Will Address the Revocation of Romanowski's Immunity
- These documents must reach him [Marcin Romanowski] and he must familiarize himself with them. He has 7 days for this, I have shortened this deadline to 3 days for him, but we must be sure that it has reached him, that he has read it. Therefore, most likely his immunity will be voted on at the next Sejm sitting - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm. The next Sejm session is scheduled for July 10-12.

09:51

Hołownia Sets Timeline for Reviewing Citizen Energy Price Bill:

There Will Be No Freezing.

- This [citizen] project concerning energy price hikes will be processed in July in the Sejm. It will be on the agenda of either the next or the one after that session. I take citizen projects very seriously; there will certainly be no freezing - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

09:55

Hołownia:

I Agree with Giertych That Settlements Must Be Accelerated

- Yes, I agree with Roman Giertych that settlements must be accelerated. I presented to you what immunity requests I have; we don't have a prison here, no services that bring anyone in, no prosecution office. We are working on what we received from the prosecutor. I do expect, and I believe, that this will pick up speed, because we should have been past this stage long ago and focused solely on a vision for Poland. This stage is moving too slowly, in my assessment - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm.

10:04

Hołownia:

I wish historians, not politicians, decided what should be included in the exhibition at the WWII Museum
- Regarding the exhibition [at the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk] – I don't know the matter well enough to comment, but I warn against creating another Polish-Polish war over history. We already have enough Polish-Polish wars. I would very much like for peace to finally prevail around this museum as well, and for historians, not politicians, to decide what should be included in the exhibition – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm. - I have boundless respect for the sacrifice of the Ulma family. I consider Maksymilian Kolbe to be one of our national heroes from our national pantheon. However, it should be historians who make decisions about what is present at a given exhibition at a given moment – he continued.

10:15

Hołownia on Civil Partnerships: My Only Legal Question Concerns the Formula for Child Adoption
- Regarding civil partnerships – Minister Kotula is coming, so first I will find out what she tells me. And once she tells me something, then I will know what I will tell her – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in the Sejm. - I am entirely in favor of passing this law. I have no problem with these ceremonies taking place in civil registry offices. I believe that people who want to enter into such a union absolutely have the right to do so – he continued. - My only legal question concerns the formula for child adoption – what will ultimately be included in this law, what has been negotiated. I don't know that. As a Member of Parliament, I will only make a decision when I have this knowledge – he emphasized.

10:30

Błaszczak:

We can still maintain current, low energy prices during this session

- There is no time for any analysis. As of Monday, gas prices have already increased by over 40%, and electricity by over 30%. We can still maintain current, low energy prices during this session. We want to work on this project. If we don't, hundreds of small businesses will go bankrupt - stated Mariusz Błaszczak in the Sejm.

10:53

Hennig-Kloska:

Citizens Received Forecasts Not Accounting for New Regulations

- The protective shield for Polish citizens continues to operate in the second half of the year. Unfortunately, there are many falsehoods in this area, and I also know that citizens have received forecasts that do not take new regulations into account. Therefore, I wanted to reassure them that these forecasts, sent out by energy companies in the standard manner, in many cases do not actually include the new regulations introduced by the act signed very late by President Duda, only on June 7 - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in the Sejm.

11:15

Duda summarizes his visit to China:

We discussed security issues in detail
- As I said, two days ago I discussed the security situation in detail, I presented it to the Chairman [Xi Jinping], primarily in a one-on-one meeting format, what our stance is, what our experiences are, especially with Russian aggression against Ukraine and the hybrid attack from Belarus on the Polish border. I also spoke about the tragedy we experienced in connection with the murder of a Polish soldier on the border. I spoke about this in the context of bilateral issues we have with China and the policy we have been pursuing together for years, actually since the beginning of my presidency in 2015. This is the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, where Poland was intended to be a partner for China, a gateway for China to Europe, not only to Central Europe, but also to the entire EU – stated Andrzej Duda at a press briefing in Shanghai. - On the economic level, regarding our activities here promoting Poland, I also had an additional visit to Dalian, where the World Economic Forum is currently taking place, a kind of Asian part of the global forum, which takes place in Davos in the winter, and this summer edition is held here – he added.

11:20

Kidawa-Błońska on the Bill the Senate Will Work On:

We Must Create Conditions for Every Pole to Comfortably Participate in Elections.
- Today, we have several very important points, in my opinion. The first is the amendment to the Electoral Code, an amendment to the Electoral Code that Poles have been waiting for, giving Poles a chance for postal voting not only in the country but also abroad. A bill that increases the number of places where postal voting can take place abroad, and also extends the vote counting time abroad by 48 hours. This is of great importance, because we saw how engaged Poles abroad were, how they wanted to participate in the elections, so we must create conditions for every Pole, regardless of their place of residence, to be able to participate in the elections comfortably - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska at a press conference. - The second very important bill we are dealing with is a bill preparing, ensuring security in the preparations for the presidency and the course of the presidency. I remind you that from January 1, 2025, Poland will take over the presidency of Europe for six months. This is a very important time, all eyes will be on Poland, so it is important that this presidency proceeds smoothly and safely, and this bill provides additional tools for good preparation and conduct of the presidency - she continued. - Today, the report of the National Broadcasting Council and the National Media Council will also be considered. Yesterday, at the Culture and Media Committee, these reports were assessed negatively [...]. We will also adopt the report on the activities of the Social Dialogue Council today - she added.

12:02

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Partnership Unions: No Decision Yet Whether It Will Be a Government or Parliamentary Project
- We have a very positive attitude towards dialogue, conversation, discussion. Of course, we are open, we say this clearly and unequivocally. But I will repeat once again: in the Polish People's Party (PSL), everyone will vote as they see fit. There will be no discipline on this matter, and there never has been, I have never promised anyone otherwise - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with journalists in the Sejm. - Whether this will be a government or a parliamentary bill is a decision for the entire coalition later, because the Government Work Programming Team, which includes ministers from all parties, makes that decision - he continued. - A decision has not been made on this matter, so any assurances that it will be a government project or not would be premature. I would like this decision to be made as soon as possible, we agree on that wholeheartedly. I thank the Minister [Kotula] for her openness to dialogue - he added.

12:14

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the WWII Museum: I Asked Our Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Culture to Speak with Her Boss
- When I familiarized myself with this information, after this decision, which seemed improbable to me, I must be honest, I verified it until this morning. Unfortunately, it turned out to be true. I believe that this exhibition, these figures [at the WWII Museum] should be immediately reinstated. These are heroes of our shared history [...], both Rotmistrz Pilecki, and the native Ulma family, and Maksymilian Kolbe - Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz told journalists in the Sejm. - I asked our representative in the Ministry of Culture, Minister Żelazowska, to speak with her boss. We expect these figures to be reinstated in the exhibition - he stated.

12:23

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

A Joint Presidential Candidate and Revitalizing the Third Way Are Needed
- The triple jump turned out to be effective, two attempts successful, one unsuccessful [...]. So the outcome of this cooperation is positive. There is one election ahead of us on the horizon. […] I believe that closer cooperation is needed, that putting forward a joint presidential candidate is necessary, because it is a very difficult election for smaller formations […]. A deep breath and full steam ahead, the revitalization of the Third Way is simply needed today - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

13:15

"The Tunnel Under Łódź is a Symbol of a Mix of Slyness and Incompetence." Tusk on the "Central Misappropriation of Funds"

- We established, and they established, that in December 2023, which is 2 years later than this tunnel [under Łódź] was supposed to be opened, work on this tunnel had completely halted. I'm talking about this one of many issues, so that we can finally honestly look at what was happening around CPK. Someone rightly noted that this abbreviation should perhaps be read, a bit maliciously and trivially, as Central Misappropriation of Funds, and unfortunately, it was a bit like that. When we look at the scale of expenditure, including on propaganda and promotion, and the results we will achieve. This tunnel under Łódź is just one example; it is a symbol of this mix of slyness and incompetence - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

13:18

Tusk on CPK: In our project, railways won't be rebuilt just to connect at Baranów
- Today we want to inform you that this project will be a kind of triple jump into modernity, into a modern communication system that responds to the challenges of the 21st century, and generally into the structure of the Polish state. Firstly, and this is a fundamental difference between the project promoted by our predecessors and what we have been doing for several months, which is gaining momentum, is the inclusion of all of Poland in this project. This project must take into account the great asset that is regional and local Poland, and the model of decentralization of this regional and local decentralization. In our project, railways will not be rebuilt just to connect at Baranów. That was the most controversial element - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

13:21

Tusk:

Poland Will Become One Giant Megalopolis

- Poland will become one giant Megalopolis, and soon. We will see it in a few years while we are all still sitting here, which means that all major cities in Poland will be included in this modern communication project - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

13:23

Tusk on the 100-Minute Project

- It will start with Y [likely referring to a specific route or hub, e.g., a high-speed rail line], but it will also concern other large cities, in 100 minutes, because in approximately 100 minutes we will be able to travel from Warsaw to Katowice, to Krakow, to Wroclaw, to Poznan, to Gdansk, and of course, the journey between Warsaw and Lodz will cost us much less than 100 minutes – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

13:30

Tusk Announces Final Decision on CPK:

It Will Be the Most Modern Airport in Europe.
- An airport will be built in Baranów, unlike, and I say this with full conviction, you remember how it was with highways, the discussion lasted 20 years, how good it would be for some highway to be built in Poland. But someone had to come and finally build those highways. And that's exactly what we have today with the central airport in Baranów and the entire project of this modern communication network. You know, in the end, someone has to actually do it, and it must be based on realistic assumptions - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference. - I don't know if you remember, but the first assumptions, which were articulated many times in the public space, were completely pulled out of thin air. There was even a leading aviation manager at the time who claimed that we would handle 200 million passengers in Baranów per year, and concepts were invented based on that. Our predecessors, as part of some sobering up, came to the conclusion, and we inherited such a project in this fragment, that in Baranów the realistic number of passengers is 34 million passengers, and we will build such a modern airport on this scale, and it will be the most modern airport in Europe - he continued.

13:44

Tusk:

I hope Błaszczak will waive his immunity
- I am not settling this dispute in a legal sense, but emotionally, I believe that everyone in Poland is on the side of the general, whom Minister Błaszczak unfairly and cowardly wanted to burden with full responsibility for the missile affair that fell on our country's territory. We all saw it with our own eyes, you don't need deep knowledge, Minister Błaszczak discredited himself, and the only idea Minister Błaszczak had then was to shift the blame onto Polish generals, so generally something disgusting [...]. I hope that Mr. Błaszczak will waive his immunity, it will simplify matters for all of us, and then the court will decide - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference.

13:52

Tusk:

I Sincerely Appreciate President Duda's Efforts in China
- I sincerely appreciate the efforts, and I mean this seriously now, of President Duda in China, especially since we agreed, we sent very detailed recommendations for President Duda before his visit to China, from our point of view, the government's, and what is in Poland's interest, and the President truly did everything to ensure that our Chinese partners received information about what Poland expects, for example, regarding China's potential influence on Belarus's behavior - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference.

- I am very satisfied with President Duda's actions and also believe that it is better to have the best possible relations with a country like China, rather than the worst - he continued.

14:45

"Things Are Not Going Well in Poland": Morawiecki on the State Budget Situation

- Ladies and gentlemen, things are not going well in the Polish state. We are currently dealing with a growing budget deficit, which stood at 53 billion zlotys by the end of May. We have not recorded such a high deficit in May for the past several years. We already have media reports about a growing deficit in the National Health Fund (NFZ). This could range from 70 to several hundred billion [zlotys] in the coming years, according to expert calculations. We have an excessive deficit procedure imposed on us, and we also have a growing VAT gap – this is precisely what we warned about. It is worth starting by comparing this situation to how we managed public finances in the years preceding the government of Civic Platform (PO) and its coalition partners – stated Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

14:45

Morawiecki assesses the government's CPK plan:

We are dealing with a caricature

- The next trick we saw today at Tusk's press conference is very sad, because it is already clear that they are rebuilding CPK in such a way that it will not threaten Germany, it will not threaten Austria. Ladies and gentlemen, what happened today at the Prime Minister's press conference? For me, it is clear, firstly, whether he will draw consequences from those who have already caused us to lose 3 years, 4 years according to experts, in the process of CPK implementation. Who will benefit from this? We know perfectly well, those who are our competitors – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

- We are dealing with a caricature today, Tusk wants a caricature. He talks about Modlin airport, let him ask the experts, let him ask those who are currently fueling this social wave of movement against the ruling party. It is not PiS, it is Polish society that is forcing Tusk's decision, on this government which is devoid of any development ambitions – he added.

15:32

PiS Attacks Tusk with Infographics:

He Changed His Mind Again.

Following Donald Tusk's press conference on the Central Communication Port (CPK), PiS has published a series of graphics on social media attacking the Prime Minister.

15:49

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

All Polish State Services Are Working to Apprehend the Perpetrator Who Caused the Death of a Soldier
- I want to assure the esteemed chamber that all services of the Polish state, all bodies tasked with fighting and prosecuting criminals, special services, both civilian and military, the police, the border guard, and the army are working to apprehend the perpetrator of the heinous attack that led to the death of a Polish Army soldier. Sooner or later, the bandit will be apprehended and punished. The Polish state will not rest until the one who violated our border and committed an act against our soldier, stabbing him precisely, very precisely [...] not by chance, not in self-defense, but with the intention of causing the loss of health and life, stabbed a Polish soldier, is caught and punished. There will be no deviation from this, regardless of who holds power in Poland; I am absolutely convinced that this mission will be fulfilled, I believe it will be done very quickly - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a Sejm session.

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Border Situation:

As of June 25, Soldiers and Officers Fired 1390 Warning Shots.
- When it comes to the level of threat, the level of aggression directed towards our soldiers, the number of warning shots best reflects this. [...] In 2021, 886 warning shots were fired, in 2022 – 468, in 2023 – 320. As of June 25 this year, soldiers and officers have fired 1390 warning shots. This is more than in previous years – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a Sejm session.

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Proposed Regulations Regarding the Use of Force:

This is Not a License to Kill. It's About Giving Soldiers Certainty.
"The first point of this act is the introduction of military operations on the territory of the Republic of Poland, modeled on Polish military contingents in operations conducted outside Poland's borders. This is a response to hybrid warfare," Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said during a Sejm session. "This act is also intended to strengthen soldiers and officers in the rules and possibilities of using weapons. The rules and possibilities of using weapons are very strictly defined. Poland is no different from our allies; these rules for the use of force are very precise everywhere. But after the experiences we have had, after the number of warning shots fired, after the specialized, trained hordes attempting to breach the Polish border, a change and the introduction of a counter-legal principle into Polish regulations, into the Act on National Defense, is simply necessary," he continued. "This is not a license to kill, as some have tried to formulate it, nor the absence of such a license. It is a description of the situation we are facing today, an unusual one, unknown, disproportionate to any other threats since the end of World War II. It is about giving greater certainty and providing soldiers with the ability, if their lives and health, combined with an attack on the border and other preconditions, are threatened, that they should not fear using their weapons," he elaborated further.

Tusk Differs from Morawiecki by Presenting a Feasible Project, Not Illusions." Trzaskowski on CPK
- This is precisely how Donald Tusk differs from Prime Minister Morawiecki: he talks about specifics. He doesn't spin illusions or weave visions that have no grounding in reality, but rather, after several months of auditing and preparation, he presents a project that has a chance of being realized - said Rafał Trzaskowski on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach".

19:59

Trzaskowski on a Potential Presidential Run:

Surely, Anyone Who Knows Me Doesn't Doubt My Ambition and Determination.
- Surely, anyone who knows me and has followed my life's trajectory doesn't doubt my ambition and determination, however, it is far too early to talk about that. I still have a lot of things to sort out and to bring a certain stage in Warsaw to a close - said Rafał Trzaskowski on TVN24 when asked about running for president.

20:03

Trzaskowski on the Presidential Elections:

If We Could Agree on One Candidate in the Coalition, it Would Show Consolidation.
- Indeed, within a coalition that is creaking a bit, if we could agree on one [presidential] candidate, it would truly show consolidation, and we would all then rally together to fight - said Rafał Trzaskowski on TVN24.

Grabiec:

If We Want to Talk Seriously About CPK, Forget What PiS Says. The Original Idea Was Idiotic
- I think that here we can forget, if we want to talk seriously about CPK, about what PiS representatives say, because for some time now they have adopted a stance of criticizing everything the government does. If it does something different from what PiS wanted, it's bad. If it does similar things, only better, it's also bad - said Jan Grabiec in an interview with Dariusz Ociepa on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń". - We said, both during the election campaign and in the '100 Concrete Actions' plan, that we want to prioritize railway development, criticizing the original CPK idea, which was idiotic, that needs to be emphasized. Because if we talk about building a whole communication network covering the entire country, this concept is exactly the opposite of what PiS initially proposed, where an airport was to be built for 100, even 200 million passengers, which meant bringing residents from all over Poland and half of Europe to one specific point to fill air traffic - he continued. - We think differently: we want to develop regional airports, railway connections between the main economic centers in Poland. And at the same time, build a new airport, but at a time when the aviation market needs it, not when some party ideologues think it will be the best - he continued.

It's Easiest to Say We'll Contest Everything, We Won't Take Responsibility. Trzaskowski Criticizes Zandberg's Stance
- It's easiest to say, as in Zandberg's case, that we will best contest everything, right, we won't take responsibility for it, because that's the easiest way. I believe that maturity lies in trying to reach an understanding, in pressuring one's partners to be ambitious, and to be effective. Not to dissect certain matters in the media, but simply to be effective in coalition negotiations - said Rafał Trzaskowski on TVN24. - Currently, discussions that perhaps someone won't want to support the government, that they will stand aside because it will be easier, I believe that full consolidation and maturity are needed today. Today we know more or less what positions different parties hold, today we simply need to find a good, ambitious solution, one that will simply have majority support within the ruling coalition, so that civil unions become a reality - he continued.

20:15

Grabiec on the Necessity of Expanding Modlin and Okęcie:

LOT Needs to Be Developed.
- This project primarily means that LOT needs to be developed. Because what PiS proposed, to quickly build an airport somewhere in a field, at a time when LOT is one of the smaller airlines on a European scale, would mean we would build an airport, spend tens of billions, which Chinese, Germans, French, Americans would fly from, and we wouldn’t have enough planes […], for that money to stay in Poland – said Jan Grabiec in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News. - We propose, first, the expansion of Okęcie, actually the modernization of Okęcie […], the expansion of Modlin, and only in the third stage, putting this new airport into operation – he indicated.

Hołownia Announces Meeting with Kotula on Partnership Unions

- Tomorrow I am meeting with Minister Kotula, who is coming to see me, as I understand it, also to discuss this bill [on partnership unions], to present this bill, because that's how it is with other bills, for example, the border bill, which we read today, amendments are introduced right up to the last moment - stated Szymon Hołownia on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:30

Grabiec:

I can guarantee that people displaced due to CPK construction will receive fair compensation
- We have been talking for many months and we know what the residents of Baranów, or dozens of places in Poland where railway lines were to run, where expropriations were planned, are concerned about - said Jan Grabiec in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - These people care about being treated seriously, about having a perspective, about knowing what, where, and when is to be built. So that, if they are to be expropriated or sell their properties, they receive a fair price, because that is what PiS took away from them. […] Yes, I can guarantee that this will be the case. The Prime Minister is very keen on changing the regulations concerning expropriations so that people receive adequate means - he continued. - The Prime Minister has met many times and there are no obstacles to meeting again. However, today the Prime Minister's task is to respond to these expectations, formulated then and today - he added.

Hołownia Sets Deadline for Presidential Election Bid Decision

- Yes, I have an idea of how to make this office [the presidency] a place that lowers the temperature and, in difficult situations, builds some form of national reconciliation. However, I will make the decision, and I am still thinking about it, which is probably rational, only in the autumn, a final decision, because we will see where we are as a political scene in the autumn - stated Szymon Hołownia on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:33

Hołownia:

If the next president is from Civic Platform, with a Prime Minister from PO, there's a high risk the one after that will be from PiS

- It's hard for me to imagine that right now. It's not about my ambitions, it's about the project succeeding. I am simply convinced that if the next president is from Civic Platform, with a Prime Minister from Civic Platform, then unfortunately, there's a high risk that the next president, the prime minister will be from PiS, because that's unfortunately how it works here - stated Szymon Hołownia in the TVN24 program "Kropka nad i".

20:37

Hołownia on CPK:

I am very pleased that the Prime Minister was convinced.

- I am very pleased that the Prime Minister was convinced [of the CPK idea], because we talked about it for a long time. For several months, I have been saying very firmly – this is an aspirational project, Poland needs it, Poland is a large economy in the EU, let's do it, but without stealing money and destroying people's lives. It's great that this resonated so strongly in the Prime Minister's statement. Of course, as Polska 2050 and myself, we will advocate not only for a 100-minute Poland, in the sense that the Prime Minister spoke about today; for me, a 100-minute Poland in a different sense is much more important. As I said at our convention two months ago – that it should be possible to get from every county town, and even from smaller towns, to a local metropolis within 100 minutes – stated Szymon Hołownia on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:51

Grabiec:

Trzaskowski is the Natural Candidate. I Don't Think Primaries Will Be Necessary
- I think it will probably happen in the autumn. There is no particular reason today to announce a candidate almost a year before the end of the term - said Jan Grabiec in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News, responding to the question of when we will know the name of the Civic Coalition's (KO) candidate for president. When asked if primaries would be necessary, he replied: - I don't think so. [...] Our candidate in the previous election was Rafał Trzaskowski. He achieved an excellent result and is the natural candidate.
