Tuesday's Political Agenda: Government on Hate Speech Ban, Hołownia in Silesia, Kidawa-Błońska in Łódź, Constitutional Tribunal on Sejm Resolution

At 10:00, the investigation committee was scheduled to question the former CEO of PKN Orlen, Daniel Obajtek, as well as the former CEO of Grupa Azoty, Tomasz Hinc. However, on Monday, Obajtek announced that he had not been effectively summoned before the committee and would not appear for questioning.

The Marshal of the Senate, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, will visit Łódź. At 10:00, she will lay flowers at the grave of MP Iwona Śledzińska-Katarasińska, and at 11:00, she will visit the National Centre for Film Culture. A press conference will be held at 13:00 with the Mayor of Łódź, Hanna Zdanowska, followed by a meeting with representatives of the local cultural community at 13:30.

At 11:00, the Council of Ministers will consider a draft amendment to the Penal Code introducing a ban on hate speech. The agenda also includes a draft regulation specifying the month for the payment of the next additional annual monetary benefit for pensioners and annuitants in 2024.

At 11:00, the Constitutional Tribunal will address the Sejm's resolution regarding the "removal of the effects of the constitutional crisis." The case will be heard by a three-judge panel consisting of Bogdan Święczkowski, Stanisław Piotrowicz, and Bartłomiej Sochański.

At 13:00, the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, will meet with high school students from the Silesian Voivodeship as part of a civic lesson.

At 17:00, an open meeting with Szymon Hołownia and Michał Gramatyka will take place on the Market Square in Chorzów.

Beata Szydło will be visiting the Lublin and Podlaskie Voivodeships – at 9:00 at the market in Parczew, at 13:30 in Wysokie Mazowieckie, and at 17:00 in Kolno.

New Civic Platform Spot:

PiS is the Party of Polexit

In a new campaign spot, the ruling party returns to the topic of Polexit and refutes statements made by prominent PiS politicians - Marek Suski, Rafał Bochenek, Elżbieta Witek, and Janusz Kowalski - with Minister Sikorski's weekend statement about Polexit.

The Person Recording Sovereign Poland Politicians Intentionally Provoked These Conversations – Agent or Psychopath, Brudziński on the Fundusz Sprawiedliwości Affair
- The person who recorded Sovereign Poland politicians intentionally also provoked these topics or conversations, meaning, as has been said, either an agent or a psychopath – stated Joachim Brudziński in a conversation with Karol Surówka on "Sygnały Dnia" on PR1. - There was simply stupidity, irresponsibility on the part of those who used certain words – he continued.

08:51

Brudziński:

Giertych is very effectively helping the people thanks to whom he obtained his mandate, covering up their incompetence and problems
- What is this charade and farce by Mr. Giertych and this Mr. Mraz, if not to distract from real problems? Roman Giertych is very effectively helping today the people thanks to whom he obtained his parliamentary mandate on behalf of the Civic Platform, meaning he is covering up all these inabilities and problems that the current team is struggling with - said Joachim Brudziński in PR1.

08:57

Brudziński:

There are limits to political brawling. Security should be removed from political dispute
- For the entire 8 years, we were constantly bombarded with how barbaric, inhuman, and cruel our policy was [towards] poor migrants and our neighbours. We heard that we were a Russophobic party, that we were throwing sand in the gears of Polish-Russian relations. Today, we learn that we are a pro-Russian party, that we are Russian agents, that we should be outlawed. And there are limits to this political brawling – said Joachim Brudziński in an interview with PR1. - Security is an area that should be removed from political dispute – he continued.

09:05

Brudziński on PiS potentially ending cooperation with Sovereign Poland:

There is no such discussion.
- There is no such discussion, we are in the middle of a campaign - said Joachim Brudziński in PR1, when asked if there is a discussion in PiS today about ending cooperation with Sovereign Poland. - If the prosecution files charges, if proceedings are initiated, we will have 100% certainty that these charges are not strictly political [...] Jarosław Kaczyński has repeatedly provided evidence that the Neumann principle does not apply here, i.e. [...] "if you are in Civic Platform, we will defend you like you are defending independence" - he continued.

09:08

Wieczorek:

Ziobro Forgot He Governed for the Last 8 Years

- Ziobro can only draw public attention to the fact that 'those guys are allegedly stealing too'. I have the impression that Mr. Ziobro forgot that he governed for the last 8 years, and therefore, no one manipulated any matters for him. If there were serious issues, I don't believe that Mr. Ziobro and the whole team wouldn't have put them on the table and informed the media (...) they didn't do it because there were no such issues, there simply is no evidence for it - stated Dariusz Wieczorek in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program 'Gość Radia Zet'.

09:09

Wieczorek:

I Get the Impression Morawiecki Has Taken the Side of Law Enforcement

- I get the impression that Prime Minister Morawiecki has taken the side of law enforcement. He indicates where Mr. Obajtek is, that mayors are calling him, greeting him, campaigning for him. There's quite a commotion on the right wing - stated Dariusz Wieczorek on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

09:13

Wieczorek on the Cancellation of 9 Medical Programs: Limit of 0, Decision Rests with Leszczyna

- I suggest one thing to Minister Leszczyna, and I have already given my opinion on this, which is the allocation of limits. Because the Minister of Health allocates the limits each year, in the case of these programs, for the moment, meaning the end of May, I propose a limit of 0. What does this mean? We are not closing the programs; students who are finishing their first year, if they pass, will move on to the second year. However, we are telling the universities 'for the 2024-2025 academic year, at this moment, you do not have the right to admit any new students' - stated Dariusz Wieczorek on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

- A limit of 0, the decision rests with Minister Leszczyna. We will be meeting on this matter today after the Council of Ministers session - he added.

09:17

Berek on the Justice Fund:

Calling these grants 'competitions' was a violation of the law.
- Firstly, these recordings that are being revealed show that, with high probability, the law was indeed broken. Because if someone rigs a competition, rigging a competition and favouring a specific entity, violating the principles of equality, setting conditions for a specific entity that is about to submit an application, looking for ways to ensure that entity wins, it means these were not competitions at all. These were effectively funds allocated at discretion, and therefore, calling them competitions was a violation of the law – stated Maciej Berek in the program "Graffiti" on Polsat News. - As I analyze this material, in my opinion, this is how it happened that this election campaign was supported by funds not originating from the election fund – he added.

09:19

Berek on the Commission for Russian Influence: 'It Should Conduct an Examination; Law Enforcement Agencies Handle Legal Violations'

- The sheer number of these cases, the number of threads to be investigated, require them to be gathered in one place, but it is also important to clearly indicate the objective. That is, in the situation we are in, this external one, all of this that has been happening in recent weeks, which is also being revealed again in recent days. It is important to show these influence mechanisms so that they simply do not repeat themselves, which is why the decision was made to gather everything in one place, examine it, show these mechanisms in order to neutralize them for the future, and let the prosecution deal with enforcement. This is the difference between the commission envisioned by PiS and our idea; their commission was meant to be a pseudo-court, it was meant to rule on responsibility, it was meant to impose various sanctions, while this commission is meant to conduct an examination, reveal the mechanisms, and if the law has been violated, to notify the appropriate law enforcement agencies – said Maciej Berek on Polsat News.

09:51

Berek:

Part of Electoral Activity Was Supported by State Budget-Funded Solutions
- We are dealing with a situation where part of the electoral activity was supported organizationally and personally by solutions financed from the state budget. If the National Electoral Commission (PKW) confirms this, then yes, the consequences could be very serious. It is always the PKW's assessment; I think it is necessary for the PKW to investigate this and address it – stated Maciej Berek on Polsat News. - As I analyze these materials, in my opinion, this is how it happened: that this election campaign was supported by funds not originating from the election fund – he added.

09:54

Commission on Russian Influence: Berek Indicates Probable Date for First Meeting
- I know that the ministers presenting their candidates for the members of this commission are currently doing so, these candidacies are to be submitted by today or tomorrow, and the commission was to convene immediately thereafter. I assume that the first meeting of the commission will take place this week. This first meeting is important because, according to the regulation signed by the Prime Minister, the commission has two months from this first meeting to present the first interim report – Maciej Berek said on Polsat News.

10:03

Obajtek Expects New Hearing Date:

Substantive Discussion Impossible to Conduct.
I learned about my invitation to participate in the commission's hearing today from media reports. I was not formally notified of this hearing. Bearing the above in mind, I indicate that the date of my hearing should be set for a time after the European Parliament election campaign. I believe that you too should care that the commission's session does not become an arena for political games, but a place for substantive discussion, which – due to the ongoing campaign – is currently impossible to conduct, Daniel Obajtek wrote in a letter published on social media. "Professionalism and objectivity must be ensured – all this with the aim of the commission making true findings. Bearing the above in mind, I will inform you of the address for service. This will be the address of my representative. I assume that the temptation associated with the possibility of asking me questions will not overshadow your obligation to comply with the provisions of the law, in particular: criminal procedure and the act on parliamentary investigative commissions. I await my participation in the commission's session on a new date, after the campaign"

10:07

Mastalerek Responds to Tusk's Tweet:

He proved to be a coward again.

- Prime Minister Donald Tusk lacked precisely these wings in 2020. And probably not only that. Now he has once again proven to be a coward - wrote Marcin Mastalerek on Twitter, responding to Prime Minister Tusk's morning tweet.

10:11

My Successor Has a Clean Slate to Introduce Further Changes," Kierwiński on the Ministry of Interior and Administration
- I am very proud to have had the honor of serving in Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government. These were 5 very intense months. 5 months that cannot be compared to any other period in the history of recent governments in Poland. A period of cleaning up after PiS, of making very difficult decisions, although decisions like restoring law and enforcing law, for example in the case of Mr. Wąsik and Kamiński. I am very proud of this period - said Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski in “Sedno Sprawy” on Radio Plus. - There are such important matters that we must now take care of in Europe. […] I am leaving [the Ministry of Interior and Administration] because there is the issue of security, financing many matters that we have spoken about. I myself said in the ministry that these are the issues that need to be watched over in Europe - he continued. - I have a feeling - and I think Prime Minister Donald Tusk also spoke about this when he announced my successor - that these 5 months have set the Ministry of Interior and Administration on the right track. That the entire process is already underway, everything is prepared, and my successor has quite - I don't want to say it because it's a difficult ministry - but quite a clean slate to introduce further changes - he assessed.

10:20

Kierwiński on the Justice Fund: The Entire PiS, Led by Kaczyński, Bears Political Responsibility
- All those who stole should be brought to justice [...]. This is the prosecutor's job, but I am using this word because it needs to be said very clearly: if public money intended for the aid of crime victims is taken and given to local associations, often associations that were established a week or two before a given competition, then this is nothing else but theft. We need to speak about this very directly - stated Marcin Kierwiński in "Sedno Sprawy" on Radio Plus. - I don't know who led this organized group, because it's hard for me to imagine that Jarosław Kaczyński, the Deputy Prime Minister for Security, was unaware of the situation, but politically, the entire PiS, with Kaczyński at its head, bears responsibility for this massive outflow of public money - he continued. - I think every deputy minister who signed off on or circumvented, or manipulated these competitions, should be criminally liable. There is a question about Zbigniew Ziobro's responsibility, but that must be determined by the prosecutor's office, and there is Kaczyński's responsibility. I am saying this very clearly: responsibility for this pathological system that he created, because it's not as if Kaczyński didn't know - he continued.

10:30

Kierwiński on Lasek: He may have a distance from gigantism, but he is a professional
- Why an opponent? No, [Donald Tusk] took a specialist. PiS took an opponent for the CPK construction, because there is no worse situation than taking someone under the 'first job' program and making them responsible for building an airport. Maciej Lasek may have his private views, but he is a professional - said Marcin Kierwiński in "Sedno Sprawy" on Radio Plus. - You had Mr. Horała, for whom aviation was his first job, and you think he was better than Lasek, who may have a distance from gigantism, but is a professional? I don't understand such a philosophy - he stated. - The Prime Minister always wants faster, more, because he is a perfectionist. I am also convinced that he would like these audits to finish as soon as possible, but we are all realists that to do it well, it has to take time - he added.

10:43

Prosecutor's Office Also Attempts to Summon Obajtek. Szczerba Gives Date of Planned Interrogation
- The prosecutor's office is also trying to summon Daniel Obajtek for an interrogation. As you know, there are currently three proceedings concerning Orlen underway, including one concerning colossal mismanagement related to the sale of 417 Lotos stations, but also the participation in the Gdańsk Refinery. According to my information, Daniel Obajtek has been summoned by the prosecutor's office for an interrogation on June 3 - said Michał Szczerba at a session of the parliamentary inquiry committee on the visa scandal. - All these officials and all these notifications that we are talking about today, which so bore Mr. Daniel Obajtek's colleagues, at the same time there is an attempt to serve a summons to the parliamentary inquiry committee, but also a summons for Daniel Obajtek before the prosecutor's office - he continued.

11:30

Financial Penalty for Obajtek for Failing to Appear for Interrogation. Investigative Committee Passes Resolution
- The committee has passed a resolution to request the District Court in Warsaw to impose a disciplinary penalty of PLN 3,000 on Daniel Obajtek for his unexcused absence at today's committee session – stated Michał Szczerba during the session of the investigative committee regarding the visa scandal. Seven MPs voted in favor of the resolution, four against, and no one abstained.

12:47

Morawiecki's New Clip:

Choose Those Who Have Always Put Poland's and Europe's Security First.

- Would you put someone on guard who has repeatedly overslept at their post? I wouldn't either. That's what the elections on June 9th are all about. Donald Tusk said he could do anything in the EU. He boasted that no one could outsmart him. And what is the truth? The Union adopted the migration pact as soon as they took power. Now they are presenting us with a choice – let in immigrants or pay for them. But it doesn't have to be that way. On June 9th, vote for PiS. Choose those who have always put the security of Poland and Europe first. It was PiS that secured Poland's borders, it was we who built a tight barrier on the eastern flank of the EU and NATO. It was we who repelled the hybrid attack by Putin and Lukashenka. It is we who always say "no" to illegal immigration. And them? Let's draw a veil of silence over them. On June 9th, it is worth voting for those who have always put the security of Poland's and Europe's borders first - says Mateusz Morawiecki in a clip published on social media.

13:33

Hołownia:

As the EU, We Can Outpace Those Who Wish to Be Aggressors Today

- We are capable, as the European Union, of outrunning those who wish to be aggressors today by several lengths, but we must want to do it. That is why it is important that we do not sleep through these upcoming elections, but rather send to the European Parliament people who will want to work there - stated Szymon Hołownia during a civic lesson in Świętochłowice.

13:41

Hołownia:

Today We Must Seek Strength in Alliances, We Will Not Be Enough on Our Own

- Today we must seek strength in alliances, we will not be enough on our own, but we have NATO. We should do everything we can to build these community alliances, because together we are stronger, because together we are capable of lifting this. Together we are capable of emerging from this even wiser, better, even more focused on our development - stated Szymon Hołownia during a civic lesson in Świętochłowice.

13:52

Hołownia:

CPK Makes Sense on Its Own Today, We Should Continue This Project

- Today, CPK on its own makes sense, we should continue this project, we should build this airport. Because the market is recovering and this is very clearly visible. Given our position in the European Union, we must have this kind of hub that will serve for the transfer of people and goods - stated Szymon Hołownia during a civic lesson in Świętochłowice.

14:35

Tusk Announces Visit to the Belarusian Border:

We Have Deployed Additional Forces.

- Soldiers and officers are defending our border, risking their lives. The injured soldier is under good care, as is his family. We have deployed additional forces to the border. I will be there tomorrow morning – Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on Twitter.

14:37

The Left's Proposal for the European Elections: Establishing a European Housing Fund
- The establishment of a European housing fund is very important to us. We want to build housing for affordable rent, just as we did in Włocławek. We would like the EU to allocate 100 billion euros for housing construction in the upcoming term – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference in Poznań.

14:38

Czarzasty on the Justice Fund: Those Who Made Corrupt Decisions Will Go to Prison

- The United Right, I mean the leadership, those people who made decisions that are corrupt, will be meeting and talking about their future in prison, I simply believe that. There is no way to steal so many millions, to twist so many millions under the table, and to remain unpunished. I know people would like it to happen immediately, but I want to tell you, we will act through the prosecution and through the courts, not through political decisions, which is why it is taking time, but justice will come slowly, I believe in that – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference in Poznań.

14:59

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

A Bandit Attack on a Polish Soldier and Border Guard Officer Has Occurred
- A bandit attack has occurred against a Polish soldier. An attack has also occurred against a Border Guard officer. This is a situation that is becoming more difficult every day; bandit attacks against our soldiers and officers are happening. This is an organized action, carried out by Belarusian services - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference. - I thank our allies for always being with us. I thank all those who are guarding the border. […] I thank the doctors and all the medical personnel who are ensuring that everything ends positively. The army has provided psychological support and all assistance to the family of the injured soldier, to whom I sincerely thank for his dedicated service - he continued.

15:10

Kosiniak-Kamysz Signs Contract for Long-Range Cruise Missiles:

Strategic Equipment.
- Today, a contract worth 735 million dollars has been signed. Another multi-million dollar agreement for the purchase of JASSM-ER air-to-ground missiles, which will be part of the Polish Army’s equipment. We already purchased missiles from this family in 2014 and 2018, which are already in service with the Polish Army [...], but this is the largest purchase to date – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference. - This will be several hundred air-to-ground missiles with a range of approximately 1000 kilometers. […] This is strategic equipment for the Polish Army, changing our position and our capabilities in the airspace regarding deterrence and defense. This is a key agreement – he emphasized. - Deliveries of this equipment will be in a very short timeframe – the first deliveries, which will be part of the Polish Army’s equipment, will arrive as early as 2026 – he announced.

15:11

This Will Be Another Verification of the Thesis That It Is an External Government, Essentially Representing Foreign Interests." Kaczyński Calls Out the Government

- There is a motion for an extraordinary session of the Sejm, it has been submitted, we will see what comes of it, but this cannot be left unaddressed, because it is a situation to which any normal country, and especially a country of 40 million people, with growing potential, with such a history as ours, should react. If this government does not react, it will be another verification of the thesis that it is an external government, essentially representing foreign interests and pursuing a foreign agenda here, when it comes to various kinds of decisions - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Sieradz.

15:16

Szczerba's Electoral Trampoline. Kaczyński Questioned About Investigative Committee

- Regarding this [investigative] committee of Mr. Szczerba, it is currently indeed turning into a kind of electoral trampoline for the committee's chairman, and it is quite, let's say, peculiar that people, including myself, are being summoned to this committee's sessions right before elections. This takes up the entire day and hinders the election campaigns of both candidates and non-candidates - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Sieradz.

15:18

Kaczyński Comments on Jurgiel's Resignation

- He resigned [Krzysztof Jurgiel] in a situation where he was already suspended and it was known that further proceedings would lead to his removal from the party, so there is no point in commenting on it at this moment - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Sieradz.

15:22

Kaczyński Comments on Funds for Hospital from the Justice Fund:

I Had No Idea About Any Millions.

- Today, I'm reading first and foremost in "Super Express" that in connection with my two knee surgeries, the hospital in Otwock received PLN 18.5 million. Well, I had absolutely no idea about 18 million, any millions, or any money at all, and if it did receive funds, it was entirely unrelated - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Sieradz.

15:35

Bodnar on the ECtHR ruling concerning Poland:

I believe it will provide us with a significant impetus for further action.
- This is a ruling that is the result of many years of work, the commitment of non-governmental organizations, a ruling issued, announced today by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, a ruling that was made not only in a written procedure but also as a result of a hearing conducted before the court in Strasbourg, a ruling that is of significant importance from the perspective of reforming the human rights protection system in the context of special services' activities, and especially the use of wiretapping, operational control, and the retention of telecommunications data - said Adam Bodnar at a press conference. - In this ruling, we will find a whole series of various suggestions and indications regarding the extent to which Polish law is imperfect, what should be improved, and how to guarantee, on the one hand, the sense of security of our citizens and the performance of tasks related to public order, and on the other hand, the protection of the right to privacy and informational autonomy. Minister Siemoniak and I have been dealing with this topic for some time, and I believe that this ruling will provide us with a significant impetus for further action - he continued.

15:40

Motion to Lift Immunity of Former PiS Deputy Minister Filed. It Concerns the Pegasus Purchase
- Literally an hour ago, I sent a letter to Mr. Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia. The content of the letter is as follows: [...] I respectfully transmit the motion of the National Prosecutor [...] to consent to the prosecution of Mr. Michał Woś, a Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland - Adam Bodnar said at a press conference. - This motion to lift immunity with respect to Mr. Michał Woś has already been filed, or perhaps is being filed at this very moment at the filing office of the Sejm Chancellery. This is a very comprehensive motion, 28 pages long. The disposition of this motion will, of course, in this situation be incumbent upon the Sejm Marshal, who will have to refer it to the Sejm Rules Committee of the Republic of Poland - he continued. - The charges being brought are charges concerning abuse of office by a public official [...] as well as abuse of trust [...] and in the context of causing significant financial damage, these are acts punishable by a sentence from one to 10 years, so we have a concurrence of offenses here, and the whole matter concerns the expenditure of funds for the purchase of Pegasus-type software from the funds of the Justice Fund, as well as the expenditure of public funds for the purchase of licenses to use the Pegasus system - he further stated. - This is the first motion, but further motions, I don't want to prejudge the timing here, are in preparation - he added.

15:49

First Session of the Commission on Russian Influence Scheduled: Siemoniak Announces Specific Date
- In agreement with the Minister of Justice, and in agreement with the Prime Minister, we plan for the first session of the commission [on Russian influence] to take place on Wednesday, June 5th, with the presentation of its composition – said Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference.

17:34

Kaczyński:

These are elections that can seriously impact what happens in Europe and Poland
I must call on all citizens of Łowicz, this land, to participate in them, because these are elections that can very seriously influence what will happen in Europe and consequently also what will happen in Poland. Recently, we received such rather unexpected assistance, namely the Prime Minister of France stated clearly that Eastern European countries, meaning Poland among others, were persuaded, inclined, forced – one can interpret it in various ways, but in any case, not necessarily of their own free will, to sign the migration pact, which will not concern, as he put it, French cities and villages, but specifically our territories, that immigrants from outside will be brought here under threat of having to pay penalties. And this is an extremely important matter for our security – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Łowicz.

17:39

Kaczyński:

These Elections Are Important So That the Chance for a Good Life for Poles is Seized

- These European Parliament elections are also important so that this chance of ours is seized, so that the chance for a good life for Poles and a safe life for Poles, in their own country, is preserved. And what happens in the European Parliament will have a significant impact on this, because it is possible that this parliament will change, that the composition will be clearly adjusted, that those forces that have not had much influence on the course of events there until now will gain such influence. This depends, among other things, on our result, on the result of Law and Justice, on the situation of the ECR, i.e. the group of conservatives and reformers, to which we belong - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Łowicz.

17:42

Kaczyński:

We Will Have to Fight for the Cross in Poland

- In the European Parliament, we will have to fight for our economic interests, for our interests in other areas. We will have to fight for the cross, because we will also have to fight for this cross in Poland, that is obvious. We will have to fight against what is beginning, because Mr. Trzaskowski has already started doing it – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Łowicz.

20:04

Hołownia:

A Vapid, Polarizing Political Dispute Could Kill Voter Turnout in These Elections

- I have the impression that this political dispute, which is vapid and polarizing, could kill voter turnout in these elections. Please remember that, unfortunately, with one exception, we have historically had turnout around 20% in European elections. This is a matter of the strength of our MEPs in Europe later on – stated Szymon Hołownia on TVN24’s “Fakty po faktach”.

20:12

Hołownia Proposes Monthly Coalition Leaders' Meetings:

Discussing the Most Important Investment Directions.

- I hope that we will manage to develop a mechanism within the October 15 coalition where we, I don't know, for example, the 4 leaders, will sit down once a month and discuss the most important investment directions – stated Szymon Hołownia on TVN24’s “Fakty po faktach”.

20:20

Hołownia Sets Vote Deadline for Woś's Immunity, Suggests Swift Procedure

- This motion concerning Mr. Woś, as I understand it, arrived in the Sejm today. I was in Silesia today, but my staff informs me that it has reached us, it has already entered routine formal control. Yes [it will be voted on immediately]. The procedure is routine, it's always the same. The document arrives at the Sejm, it undergoes analysis by the Sejm's legal services, which usually takes a few days, if it's a larger one, but this is not the case, a dozen or so days, so I assume that next week I will have this motion reviewed and I will immediately send it to the immunity committee, and then it's up to the committee's decision as to when it prepares its report. It is realistic, because the Sejm session is only after the elections, on June 12th, 13th, and 14th, that at the next sitting, if the committee convenes and considers this motion and presents its report by then, we will vote on this motion at the closest Sejm session. I cannot imagine this extending beyond the next June Sejm sitting - stated Szymon Hołownia in "Fakty po faktach" on TVN24.

20:24

Obajtek Explains Why He Didn't Accept the Summons:

It's Hard for Me to Sit, Lie Down, and Drink Alcohol in One Place All Day.
- I was not properly informed. As you know, there is a campaign now, I am not sitting at home waiting for letters from any commission, and therefore I am campaigning in this regard - Daniel Obajtek told TV Republika, when asked why he did not appear before the investigative committee. - Media reports are not information in this regard, meaning I was not properly informed - he continued. - I am campaigning, I am campaigning in the field. First, they try to convince the public that I am abroad. When that doesn't work, they try to convince the public that I appear and disappear. It's hard for me to sit, lie down, and drink alcohol in one place all day. Firstly, I don't drink, and secondly, I have many local communities to visit in this regard. [...] I have no prosecutorial charges. [...] No proceedings are being conducted against me, proceedings are being conducted concerning and because I did not accept it, because I had no opportunity to accept it, because I was not at my place of residence [...] the police are being deployed across the voivodeship, searching for me throughout the voivodeship, questioning people, intimidating those people - he continued.

20:24

Hołownia to PiS: If Someone is Honest, They Have Nothing to Fear

- We are diligent students and we have learned this, and now we are telling them: my dears, if someone is honest, they have nothing to fear. After all, there is no problem in appearing before a parliamentary inquiry committee if one has nothing to hide – stated Szymon Hołownia in "Fakty po faktach" on TVN24.

20:27

Obajtek:

KO is trying to 'plow over' all investments in Poland
- The Civic Coalition is trying to plow over all investments in Poland. That's the truth. We see what's happening with the Central Communication Port, we see what's happening with large-scale nuclear power. When they see that public opinion is protesting, they try to obscure reality for them by saying they will analyze. That means they won't do anything - said Daniel Obajtek on TV Republika.

20:31

Obajtek:

I will appear before the commission at the appropriate time, but it won't be a circus for Szczerba and the entire Civic Coalition
- Unlike them, I try to respect state institutions. Not only are there unpredictable people sitting there, but there are also MPs who ask substantive questions. Budka:

I expect an apology from Kaczyński and Morawiecki
