From today until Monday, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski will be on a visit to New York and Washington. The head of Polish diplomacy will participate in a session of the UN General Assembly dedicated to the occupied territories of Ukraine and in a ministerial debate of the UN Security Council on the situation in Ukraine. He will also hold a series of bilateral meetings, including with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

In Washington, Minister Sikorski will meet with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, with whom he will discuss the war in Ukraine, Polish-American security cooperation, the fight against Russian disinformation, and preparations for this year's NATO summit in Washington. The heads of Polish and US diplomacy will also inaugurate the 15th Polish-American Strategic Dialogue.

At 10:00 AM, a three-day session of the Sejm will commence. The agenda includes, among other things, the second reading of the draft amendment to the Act on the National Oncology Network (at 10:00 AM) and information on the activities of the National Council of the Judiciary in 2022 (at 12:30 PM). At 3:00 PM, the Sejm will hear a report from the Minister of Sport and Tourism on the implementation of the Polish Tourism Voucher Act for the period from August 2020 to August 2023.

At 11:00 AM, in the Column Hall of the Sejm, a seminar titled “The State of the Rule of Law in Poland. Actions of Public Authorities After December 13, 2023. Voices of the Legal Community” will take place. The event will be opened by PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński, and participants will include Mariusz Błaszczak, Michał Woś, and Patryk Jaki.

At 11:30 AM, the Minister of the Interior and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński, and the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, will attend the ceremony for the handover of fire trucks to the capital's firefighters. The meeting will take place at the Rescue and Firefighting Unit No. 5 in Warsaw.

At 7:00 PM, the Sejm's Justice and Human Rights Committee will consider and provide an opinion on the motion filed by PiS to express a vote of no confidence in the Minister of Justice, Adam Bodnar.

Domański on Loan Holidays: I Was Asked to Present Additional Scenarios Due to Questions About Economic Implications
- Regarding loan holidays, I was asked to provide additional information, additional scenarios in connection with questions about certain implications for the economy of specific solutions. But I would like to very clearly emphasize and reiterate that our intention is to provide solutions that protect borrowers in a situation of still high interest rates - said Andrzej Domański in an interview with Agnieszka Drążkiewicz on "Sygnały Dnia" PR1.

07:58

Domański:

I'm meeting with KAS leadership today. I've requested a detailed report on the border situation
- In literally an hour today, I'm meeting with the leadership of the National Revenue Administration (KAS). I've requested a detailed report on the situation at the border, specifically what is happening on the Polish-Ukrainian border. I am in constant contact with Minister Siekierski and Minister Kołodziejczak in the context of the farmers' protests - said Andrzej Domański on PR1. - I want to have very precise information regarding the situation at the border and the actions being taken by our customs officers. I want to know exactly how the inspections are proceeding, what percentage of attempted illegal imports of products into Poland we have, and what actions the National Revenue Administration plans to take to improve the situation - he continued.

08:01

Sienkiewicz:

I Replaced the RDC Liquidator with a Less Controversial Figure
  • This is the first such case. I don't interfere in the politics of liquidators and I believe the essence of this action lies in the fact that a minister, a politician, should not be concerned with the program and how public media operate. However, in cases of appointment itself, of personal responsibility, I naturally have a role to play. And this case is special, because on one hand, there's a wave saying - there were good people there, don't touch them, outstanding journalists, which I agree with, for instance, I know Mr. Chlasta well and I have a good opinion of him, and on the other hand, there are voices saying - there should be no mercy for people who worked with PiS for 8 years – stated Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".
  • There is a conflict, and I am in such a conflict that I recently replaced the [RDC] liquidator with a less controversial person. This is how it is [RDC], calmer, more balanced. Today you will find out, and I believe that in this matter, one needs to find a middle ground, and I am convinced that the new liquidator will handle it – he continued.

Domański on the PLN 60,000 Tax-Free Allowance: 'We are working on it, it's very complex'
- We are working on this solution in the ministry. It is very complex, and we want to implement every reform, and this is a serious reform, in a responsible manner, also in a politically responsible manner – said Andrzej Domański on PR1, when asked about the PLN 60,000 tax-free allowance.

08:06

Domański:

We want to create a comprehensive system for financing local governments, independent of, among other things, tax changes
- The previous government systematically deceived Polish local governments, distributing funds arbitrarily, heavily favoring those local governments where PiS representatives were present. We want to absolutely put an end to this system. And I don't mean flipping the switch in the other direction, but rather creating a comprehensive system for financing local governments that will be independent of changes, for instance, in taxes - said Andrzej Domański on PR1.

Müller on Pawłowska Taking Her Seat: A Mistake. It's Her Decision Not to Follow Our Clear Recommendation
- This is a mistake [taking over the parliamentary seat after Mariusz Kamiński], primarily on the part of MP [Monika Pawłowska]. First and foremost, let's start with the fact that this is a mistake by Marshal Hołownia, who is revoking the mandate despite the Supreme Court's ruling, so his action is unlawful - said Piotr Müller in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24. - In such situations, the decision is made individually by the person who is next on the list, and therefore there is no possibility of forcing anyone to make one decision or another. Our recommendation was clear, and the fact that the MP did not follow it is her decision - he continued.

08:09

Sienkiewicz:

Liquidation is a form of restructuring, restoring proper order in companies. It can be revoked at any moment. It's a transitional period.

- First and foremost, liquidation is also a form of restructuring, meaning the restoration of proper order in companies. Liquidation can be revoked at any moment. It can also last a very long time. I remind you that we have a company like Art-B, which was famous in the 90s. It is still a company in liquidation to this day. I do not [foresee such a scenario for TVP], it is simply a transitional period - stated Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

08:10

Sienkiewicz:

The System Created by PiS in the So-Called Public Media Collapsed Under the Weight of its Own Vile Nature

- Let's be honest, this system that was created in the so-called public media by PiS has collapsed under the weight of its own vile nature, and it was obvious to everyone that it couldn't continue like this, except for those in Nowogrodzka and the people earning millions there. We are in a transitional period. Liquidation is one of the forms provided for by the Commercial Companies Code. It can be stopped at any time - stated Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:15

Domański:

Our analyses indicate Poland will rejoin the fastest-growing EU economies this year
- Our analyses indicate that this year Poland will return to where it belongs, namely to the group of the fastest-growing economies in the European Union. Last year, economic growth in Poland was unfortunately almost zero, Poland lost ground to the European Union. Now we want to quickly make up for this distance, and what personally pleases me very much is that this year, according to our forecasts, real wages, meaning wages adjusted for inflation, will also grow rapidly [...]. We believe that wages will grow several percentage points faster than inflation – said Andrzej Domański on PR1.

08:19

Müller:

Pawłowska Will Not Be Admitted to the PiS Club. It's Quite Probable She'll Be Expelled from the Party
- Given that our position on this matter is clear, then Ms. Pawłowska [Monika Pawłowska] will not be admitted to our club - said Piotr Müller in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24. When pressed on whether she would also be expelled from PiS, he replied: - It's quite probable. She is a member of the party, and this action is different from what was recommended, so I do not rule out that such proceedings will commence soon. - In a situation where the party's position on the legality, or rather the lack of legality, of Marshal Hołownia's actions is clear, then yes, of course [I would expel her from the party if it depended on me] - he added.

08:19

Sienkiewicz Suggests Lawsuit Against Świrski:

We Are Currently Gathering Materials.

- It seems that certainly the KRRiT, which is a constitutional body that should deal with this, no one will remove it from the Constitution. It must have its role, its weight, and it must be the actual place where this order is regulated. There is no other way, if only for constitutional reasons. The current KRRiT fulfills no function. Firstly, it has no influence on appointments, it was a PiS idea to bypass the law, to have its own media. Secondly, the current chairman Świrski illegally suspended funding for public media. He is not there to judge who is right and who is wrong. His obligation is to transfer funds to public media – stated Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

- Moreover, I believe we will still witness a certain legal dispute, and I fear it might also border on criminal law, concerning the way Chairman Świrski has acted. Yes, yes, it's obvious [a lawsuit], these funds rightfully belong to the companies. This is the law, and in my opinion, this law has been broken. We are currently gathering materials, by the way – he continued.

08:24

Sienkiewicz:

Television won't see the kind of money it got under PiS

- Television will not have the kind of money it was getting under PiS. That's obvious. I estimate that this budget could decrease by at least one-third annually. I don't want to speak without basis here. I think it also depends largely on the work that needs to be done within the television. That's why this form of restructuring, which can be established by the act of liquidation itself, is being introduced – so that a certain operating system can be developed and costed. I can only say that there will definitely not be the gigantic earnings that there were in television – stated Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:43

Müller:

Currently, No Court Rulings or Decisions Declare Pegasus Purchase from the Justice Fund Illegal
- Every professional service in the world has some kind of system that serves operational activities within the proper procedure, with the appropriate permits - said Piotr Müller in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24. - Not every country has such a fund [to aid victims of crime]. Regarding the legality of purchasing this particular system [Pegasus] from this fund [the Justice Fund], there are currently no rulings, no court decisions, or anything that would state that these actions are illegal - he continued.

08:52

Müller:

Those Overseeing the Services Assured Actions Did Not Exceed Statutory Competencies
- If there was any politician who was a criminal, or if there was serious doubt whether they were a criminal, and there were grounds to apply operational measures, the kind applied to any other citizen in the same situation, then should a politician be treated somehow super? - Piotr Müller said on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" (Piasecki's Conversation). - On the other hand, if actions were taken that went beyond that, I would be very disappointed with the people overseeing the services, because they assured both me personally and the Prime Minister personally – I participated in such conversations – that such actions were not being taken. Actions that would have exceeded the competencies that are legally defined - he continued.

09:02

Müller:

Some Media Outlets Are Trying to Incite Panic Within PiS Regarding Pegasus Use. I Hope They Fail
- There is no panic [within PiS that Pegasus was used against politicians of this party]. Some media outlets want to try and incite such panic. [...] It's being attempted by some media circles, but in my opinion, largely fueled by the anxieties of Civic Platform [PO] or individuals from within the services, to create such panic. However, we are holding strong. I hope it won't succeed - stated Piotr Müller in the "Piasecki's Conversation" program on TVN24.

09:54

Siemoniak on farmer protest banner: A provocation, but perhaps based on stupidity
- Disgraceful words, absolutely not in line with the stance of the Polish state, nor with the feelings of citizens. A swift reaction from Minister Marcin Kierwiński and the police, and actions by the prosecutor's office, so now further actions are in the hands of the prosecutor's office. There are legal provisions under which such an action falls – stated Tomasz Siemoniak on Radio Zet, referring to a banner at a farmers' protest that read "Putin, sort out Ukraine and Brussels, and our rulers.". - Certainly, in all these matters concerning foreign countries, especially Russia's influence on the situation in Poland, intense action is necessary, and that is happening. A provocation, but perhaps based on stupidity, because these were such scandalous words that it is difficult for me to imagine that anyone could have imagined any other goal than what happened could be achieved – he continued.

09:57

Siemoniak:

It would be difficult to assume that Russian services are not active in Poland
- The problem, I think, which is obvious to the public, is that services have been surveilling individuals who were suspected of crimes, for whom charges have been brought, or even indictments, and that there must be a very clear criterion for who was wiretapped and surveilled without justification, and who was surveilled with justification. Because here we cannot act carelessly or in a way that violates state interests – said Tomasz Siemoniak on Radio Zet. - I can say that for years, and especially since the outbreak of the war, Russian services have been active in EU and NATO countries, and it would be difficult to assume that they are not active in Poland – he added.

10:01

Siemoniak on the List of Pegasus-Infiltrated Individuals: We Are Working to Uncover All Pathologies
- I saw that MP Bosacki is citing his sources within PiS, what PiS MPs are telling him. I neither confirm nor deny any information regarding the scope of this list, the names on this list. As I said, Minister Bodnar and I are working to rationally, in compliance with regulations, bring to light all the pathologies here – stated Tomasz Siemoniak on Radio Zet, referring to the list of individuals targeted by Pegasus.

10:03

Siemoniak:

I have no idea who Pablo Morales is. We paid for political analyses
- We paid for political analyses, it's hard for me to judge what someone does besides political analyses, especially under a pseudonym. I observe many people who write online under pseudonyms and I have no idea who [Pablo Morales] is, so it's hard for me to connect it here. Political parties, including Civic Platform (PO), commission various studies, analyses, and cooperate with many people; what they do outside of that, after hours, I have absolutely no idea – said Tomasz Siemoniak on Radio Zet.

10:10

Hołownia:

Marshal's Guard Commander Came to Me with Apologies. MP Sójka Should Not Have Been in the Report. It Was MP Górska

- The Marshal's Guard Commander came to me this morning with information, with apologies, stating that he had misled me and the Sejm Presidium. Ms. Katarzyna Sójka should not have been in this report. It was Ms. Agnieszka Górska. The Marshal's Guard has no doubts about this anymore. This was confronted with content that was also posted by Ms. Górska on social media. Entry times and images from the plenary hall were compared. There are no doubts here, and consequently, I instructed the commander to apologize to Ms. Sójka. I will also apologize to her - stated Szymon Hołownia in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

- Regarding the penalties, today the presidium decided that in this aspect, in the case of MP Sójka, this resolution will be amended, revoked, while the penalty for Ms. Górska will be addressed at the next presidium meeting - he continued.

10:10

Hołownia:

I Honestly Don't Know if PO Paid Someone to Hate on Hołownia

- I laugh at this, because if someone has to resort to such forms of political struggle, it reflects poorly on them. I honestly don't know if PO paid someone to hate on Hołownia, but I understand we're talking about this person and what they wrote. Whenever I hear or read such things, I just think to myself that it's a terrible state of affairs if you're unable to debate publicly in any other way. It speaks only to the person doing the offending, not the person being offended - stated Szymon Hołownia in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

10:20

Hołownia:

Today, the Third Way presents its abortion project - law and resolution

- No, absolutely not, [the Third Way] is not blocking [legal abortion in Poland]. Nothing of the sort is happening. Because he [Włodzimierz Czarzasty] is mistaken, we are not blocking it, the matter is clear, transparent, and understandable. I presented the procedures yesterday and how they are progressing at a press briefing. Some clubs, like Lewica, needed more time to deal with legislative requirements; for them, even two months for two projects has taken time. Today we have two projects from Lewica, a project from PO which is concluding its consultations. Today, the Third Way's project, both a resolution and a law, will be submitted. This is because it's a referendum resolution and a so-called emergency law, as we've stated, and I stand by that. All projects that are submitted, if, for example, PiS or Konfederacja want to submit them, please do, there is time, they will be considered jointly either at the first April session or at the last March session – stated Szymon Hołownia in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

10:22

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Abortion Referendum: 'I Hope the Left Will Be Convinced by Our Commissioned Study, 66% of Poles Want to Voice Their Opinion on This Matter'
- I think this study we commissioned, showing that 66% of Poles want to voice their opinion on this matter, expecting a decision from citizens rather than politicians, is convincing and I hope it will convince the Left. Moreover, the study also reveals that a majority of the Left's electorate wants to have their say in a referendum on this issue. This is the best solution – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists, when asked about the issue of abortion.

10:26

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Our Representative Will Not Support Free Trade with Ukraine at the Brussels Level
- The problem in agriculture did not start yesterday. The problem in agriculture began with the introduction of the Green Deal by Janusz Wojciechowski, who boasted about it two years ago, the problem in agriculture began with the opening of borders and a lack of effectiveness at the Brussels level - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists. - Our representative will not support free trade with Ukraine at the Brussels level. We are not in favour of this, on the terms it occurred under the PiS government; this is unacceptable - he continued.

10:30

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

I would very much ask for situations like yesterday's, preventing an ambulance from passing, and banners regarding Russia, not to happen
- I would very much ask that situations like yesterday's, preventing an ambulance from passing, or those banners that appeared concerning Russia, do not occur [during farmer protests]. This is simply unacceptable - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a conversation with journalists.

11:18

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Yesterday's Protest is a Social Assessment of Your 8 Years in Power, Farmers Have Written an Opening Report for Our Government

- The matter is serious, so I very much ask that the farmers' protests be treated with seriousness, and that their conclusions be approached with respect, because they stem from a lack of profitability in agriculture. A tragic situation where production costs are so high that they receive so little for the products sold that they are unable to sustain themselves. Production costs radically exceed the profits a farmer can earn. This did not happen in the last 60 days, since our government has been in office. These are the neglects of the last 8 years, during which you led to the collapse of over 100,000 pig farms. You led to the opening of the border with Ukraine and the uncontrolled influx of grain into Poland and other products for which you were unable to introduce even a unilateral embargo. You led to a situation where the National Strategic Plan has over 1000 pages, and farmers were unable to fulfill eco-schemes – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in the Sejm.

- This protest yesterday is a social assessment of your 8 years in power, they have effectively written an opening report for our government. This is an audit conducted by farmers, both in Poland and in Europe. An audit of the PiS government in Poland and of Wojciechowski's approach to agricultural matters in Europe – he added.

12:01

Kaczyński:

Government Actions Suggest Legal Obligations No Longer Apply
- In the course of a few dozen days, a situation has arisen where one must ask whether the Constitution is at all in force in Poland at this moment, and consequently, because the Constitution is at the very top of the legal system's pyramid, it is its foundation, whether law is at all in force in Poland. Individual actions, as well as declarations from the government, often supported from abroad, preceding or following these actions, state that essentially there is no longer an obligation to respect the law, that the goal is to restore the rule of law, sometimes referring to liberal democracy, while this goal is undefined, because how can one restore the rule of law by drastically violating it - said Jarosław Kaczyński during the seminar "The State of the Rule of Law in Poland". - We have many such acts of law-breaking or even trampling on the law, starting from the takeover of public media and ending with the attack on the prosecutor's office, but there are also many less known events referring, for example, to the removal from office of individuals who have a legally guaranteed term of office, but are nevertheless removed from their positions, and this at the beginning of their term. And there are announcements of further actions aimed in this direction, striking at such important institutions as the National Council of the Judiciary, the Constitutional Tribunal itself, and the National Bank - he continued. - The entire undertaking fits into another narrative, related to what is ultimately intended to completely undermine, even liquidate, our country's sovereignty and, as I am accustomed to saying, turn Poland into a territory inhabited by Poles but managed from abroad. The honorable lawyer [...] used such a term about a referendum that might be held in this matter [...] Unfortunately, the Constitution allows for this possibility [...] that it will be a partition referendum. Indeed, it will be a partition referendum, and in the absence of media control [...] it may end with a societal decision to consent to this, and here I am, of course, using a certain metaphor, a certain quotation mark, a partition - he went on to say.

12:12

Kaczyński on Pawłowska's Return to the Sejm: "I Could Feel Like a Three-Time Nobel Laureate"

- There is no 461st MP in the Sejm. It's non-existent. I could feel like a three-time Nobel laureate, for example, but unfortunately, I am not - stated Jarosław Kaczyński.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Reacts to Pro-Putin Slogans at Protests: "We Call on Organizers to Remove Initiators of Such Actions from Their Movement"

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding anti-Ukrainian and pro-Putin slogans at farmer protests.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes with the utmost concern the appearance of anti-Ukrainian slogans and those praising Vladimir Putin and his ongoing war during recent farmer blockades – the statement reads.

Such actions cast Poland in a poor light – a country that was the first to help attacked Ukraine, and Poles – who welcomed Ukrainian refugees. Importantly, they also discredit the protest organizers themselves. We assess this as an attempt by extremist and irresponsible groups, possibly influenced by Russian agents, to hijack the agricultural protest movement. We call on the protest organizers, in the name of Poland's national interest and the chance to realize their demands, which are largely just, to identify and eliminate the few initiators of such and similar actions from their movement. The current situation of Polish farmers is a result of Vladimir Putin's aggression against Ukraine and the disruption of the global economy, not the fact that Ukrainians are defending themselves against aggression – the communication continues.

15:01

Morawiecki:

Embargo was a Necessity – That's Why I Didn't Ask Brussels for Permission When We Introduced It

- Embargo was a necessity – that’s why when we introduced it, I didn’t ask anyone in Brussels for permission! The interests of Poles first and foremost. No provocations will cover up the just causes of the protesters – Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on Twitter.

- Dear Farmers – fight for what is yours, but one request. Watch out for Russian bootlickers and their manipulations. And here’s an example of beautiful conduct during the protest! Respect! – he added.

Zelensky Appeals to Tusk for a Border Meeting:

Enough Misunderstandings, We Need Unity.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appealed via social media to Prime Minister Donald Tusk to organize a meeting of the governments of both states regarding the protests of Polish farmers. The meeting was proposed to take place on the Polish-Ukrainian border before February 24th.

Zelenskyy asked President Andrzej Duda to support the dialogue, emphasizing that it concerns "national security." The Ukrainian president also appealed to the European Commission to have its representative participate in the meeting.

"Ukraine wishes to resolve the situation at the border jointly and fairly – pragmatically. I would like to address the Polish society and express Ukraine's gratitude to everyone who distinguishes political manipulations from fundamental issues of national security," wrote Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"I would like to address the Polish government – Mr. Prime Minister Tusk and ministers. I have instructed our government, in the coming days, by February 24th, to come to the border between our states. The head of the government of Ukraine, our entire government, from logistics to the agricultural sector, and of course, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine – because this blockade at the border, unfortunately, increases the threats to arms supplies for our soldiers at the front," he noted.

"And I ask you, Donald, Mr. Prime Minister, to also come to the border. Andrzej, Mr. President, I ask you to support this dialogue. This is national security. We cannot postpone this. The coming days give us a chance for this," he appealed.

"I am ready to be at the border together with our government. And I want to appeal now to the European Commission – unity in Europe must be maintained. This is a fundamental interest of the European Union. Therefore, Ukraine appeals to the European Commission to have a representative of the European Commission participate in this meeting," added the President of Ukraine.

"Enough Moscow on our lands. Enough misunderstandings. We cannot humiliate each other, we cannot humiliate either Ukrainian or Polish farmers. We need unity. We need solutions – between us, Ukraine and Poland, and at the level of all of Europe," he concluded.

17:58

Pomaska:

Today, the main goal should be to restore a sense of justice throughout the Polish legal system

- Certainly, changes are needed, although they concern the prison system less, and more the judiciary, on the one hand, the responsibility of the judiciary for the decisions made. In this case, someone prepared an indictment, someone made Mr. Komenda confess to guilt, even though he knew he was not guilty, and then, at the end, there was a verdict in this case, so it is definitely a story that should never happen again - stated Agnieszka Pomaska on TVP Info.

- Today, the main goal should be to restore a sense of justice throughout the Polish legal system, because it also concerns prosecutors. We know that over the last few years, prosecutors have very often dealt with cases solely for political reasons, while neglecting cases where they actually existed - she added.

17:59

Pomaska:

I am very keen for the reform that Bodnar is preparing to simply succeed
I am very keen for this reform that Minister Bodnar is preparing to simply succeed. I am not participating in these discussions, so I don't want to make a definitive judgment. I would want us all to be convinced that the laws or resolutions, generally concerning legislation that will reach the Sejm, will be subject to debate, and that this dispute will no longer exist in the parliamentary forum - stated Agnieszka Pomaska on TVP Info.

18:00

Pomaska:

We Won't Push Through Laws at Night Without Consultation Like the Previous Government

- Yesterday's visit by Minister Bodnar and Szłapka was very successful, where we received the green light for these proposed changes, but we are also under monitoring regarding the Council of Europe. All of this happened and was ongoing for the last eight years, so I will also be patient in this matter and appeal for patience. We will not, like the previous government, push through laws at night without consultation, without agreement. No. All laws will be consulted and prepared in agreement both between ministries and between coalition partners - stated Agnieszka Pomaska on TVP Info.

18:01

Pomaska:

I expect nothing good from PiS MPs, because they are the ones who destroyed the Polish judicial system

- I expect nothing good from PiS MPs, because they are the ones who destroyed the Polish judicial system, they are the ones who caused court proceedings and waiting for the first hearing to lengthen rather than shorten, and the promise was the exact opposite - stated Agnieszka Pomaska on TVP Info.

18:47

Żukowska on Farmer Protest Banner: Scandalous, Terrifying, and Revealing Russian Services' Actions
- This absolutely qualifies as treason, calling on a state hostile to us to, what, roll in with tanks here and disperse the Polish government? Scandalous, terrifying, and showing that Russian services, either directly, through agents, or by exerting influence that empties some people's brains, causing them to start believing these absurdities [...] people read various things on the internet, written by so-called agents of influence, and start believing certain theories related to Ukraine, to Ukrainians in Poland – said Anna Maria Żukowska in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia ZET", when asked about a banner at a farmers' protest stating: "Putin, sort out Ukraine and Brussels and our rulers".

18:52

Żukowska on Embargo on Ukrainian Agricultural Products: It Threatens Us with Sanctions or Penalties
- In my opinion, if the government decided on such a solution, it threatens us simply with sanctions or penalties, as in the case of Turów, some repercussions from the Ukrainian side - said Anna Maria Żukowska in Radio ZET, when asked about the introduction of an embargo on all agricultural products from Ukraine.

18:56

Żukowska:

I'd like to strongly persuade farmers that the Green Deal is necessary to help them
- Specifically on this matter, I'd like to strongly persuade farmers that the Green Deal is necessary precisely to help them, because it is farmers who bear the greatest losses associated with the climate crisis: droughts, floods, and various other sudden meteorological phenomena – said Anna Maria Żukowska on Radio ZET. - The problem is that they [farmers] don't acknowledge that this will repeat, recur, and there will be more and more of it – she continued.

18:59

Żukowska on Tusk's potential visit to the Polish-Ukrainian border: I would leave that circumstance as a last resort
- I think [Donald Tusk] should first take advantage of all other diplomatic and ministerial opportunities. He is the Prime Minister of the country, he can absolutely go there [to the Polish-Ukrainian border], see what's happening, but I would leave that circumstance as a last resort - said Anna Maria Żukowska on Radio ZET.

19:08

Żukowska on Abortion Bill Procedures: Marshal Hołownia is Trying to Drag it Out Until the Local Elections
- I don't know [why Marshal Hołownia isn't putting Lewica's abortion bills on the agenda], but it seems to me that he has some political goal in this [...]. He's trying to drag it out until the local elections end, because he clearly doesn't want it to actually go to a vote, then it will turn out who from his club... so there isn't a 'test' before these local elections [...] we hear about a bill [...] authored by Marshal Hołownia's group, but for now it's not here, however, it could have been created earlier, and therefore I understand that now this will be an argument why they are not yet being processed, because the Marshal wants them all to be processed together. I understand that once he submits his, then for example, it might occur to him 'let's perhaps wait for an idea from Konfederacja', and then 'let's also wait for an idea from PiS' - said Anna Maria Żukowska on Radio ZET.

19:19

Żukowska:

100,000 Rental Apartments This Term is the Minimum. A Government Bill is Coming Soon.
- Work is underway at the Ministry of Infrastructure; two projects are being developed that will proceed in parallel. As Minister Hetman has already announced, his project will be further expanded with our comments regarding the 0% loan [...] and regarding our project, it will be a small amendment that will unblock these funds for local governments. We will certainly start with 20,000 rental apartments. I believe 100,000 will definitely be achieved, and I hope for more, because that is the minimum threshold within this term. [...] This is the minimum threshold we can responsibly speak of. I hope there will be more. We are working on it, and this project will appear soon as a government bill. According to what Minister Kukucki said, it will certainly be by the end of June – said Anna Maria Żukowska on Radio ZET.

Bodnar Announces Bills on Supreme Court, Constitutional Tribunal, and Enforcement of ECHR Judgments

- The legislative process, I want to assure you, will be very intense. The bill on the National Council of the Judiciary has already been submitted to the Sejm, followed by the bill on the structure of common courts, there will be a bill on the Supreme Court, a bill on the Constitutional Tribunal, and finally, a bill on court and prosecutor's office employees, which was unfortunately forgotten, and several other solutions, including a bill that I have been advocating for, I would say, for decades, a bill on the enforcement of ECHR judgments - stated Adam Bodnar during a session of the Sejm's Committee on Justice and Human Rights.

Kotula on Abortion: There is No Conflict or Crisis. There are Separate Stances, the Same as When We Campaigned
- There is no conflict and no crisis. There are separate stances, the same as those we had during the election campaign - said Katarzyna Kotula in an interview with Diana Rudnik on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". - This is a good moment to talk about women's rights, because it is always a good moment to talk about women's rights, about the right to abortion. All political forces that are part of the ruling coalition today spoke about the importance of women's rights and that the issue of women's rights cannot be treated as a substitute topic. That it is not a topic that can wait - she continued.

Kotula:

If the Third Way's bill reinstates a complete abortion ban – which was the rotten abortion compromise – we will oppose it.
- There is the Third Way, which today speaks of a referendum idea, which for us – we say openly – is unacceptable. We will vote against the Third Way's bill if such a bill finally appears […]. If it is a bill that reinstates a complete abortion ban – and the prevailing rotten abortion compromise, misleadingly called a “compromise,” was such a complete abortion ban – we will vote against such a bill, but we will also oppose the resolution on a referendum – said Katarzyna Kotula in TVN24's “Fakty po Faktach”.

Kotula:

Abortion Referendum Likely to Result in a Law the President May or May Not Sign
- When it comes to a referendum, the very idea of a referendum has been compromised by the United Right and PiS during the last parliamentary elections. We saw what that ended up with. Secondly, organizing a referendum costs 70 million Polish zlotys. This is money that we could already allocate today to women's safety, which we talked about so much during the campaign - said Katarzyna Kotula in TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". - I would like to appeal to my colleagues to thoroughly examine what this referendum could lead to. It will likely end up with a law that we will vote on in the Sejm and which the President may or may not sign. We don't know today what the shape of such a law would look like, and we have ready-made drafts on the table today that we are prepared to discuss - she continued.

Kotula:

Referendum Seems a Convenient Euphemism for the Third Way to Avoid Abortion Stance
- Today, a referendum seems to be a convenient euphemism for the Third Way to avoid taking a stance on abortion and to avoid voting on the issue of abortion - stated Katarzyna Kotula on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" (Facts after Facts).

Kotula:

We Propose a New Compromise for the Parliamentary Majority - Decriminalization of Abortion
- We have submitted a proposal to the Sejm for the decriminalization of aiding and abetting abortion. [...] We are proposing a new compromise, which the parliamentary majority should agree to today. Indeed, perhaps this is the best solution until the presidential elections - said Katarzyna Kotula in TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach".

Kotula Announces When the Partnership Unions Bill Will Be Presented
- We will present the bill on partnership unions in March. I think it's a matter of approximately two more weeks. As Prime Minister Donald Tusk promised, this project will be ready by the end of winter. We will show it - said Katarzyna Kotula in "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

Leszczyna:

Third Way MPs Are More Liberal and Trusting Towards Women Than Hołownia and Kosiniak-Kamysz Themselves
In my opinion, after the [local] elections, we should return [to the discussion on abortion law] and it's not about reaching an agreement. We have certainly reached an agreement on this in Civic Coalition, also in The Left, but I will say more. The MPs of the Third Way, because we do talk to each other, they are more liberal and trusting towards women than Marshal Hołownia and Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz themselves - stated Izabela Leszczyna in an interview with Marek Czyż on TVP Info.
