PiS Club Submits Draft Amendment to Sejm Rules on Shortening Second Reading Period for Constitutional Amendment Bills

Members of the PiS club have submitted a draft amendment to the Sejm's rules of procedure, introducing the possibility of shortening the second reading period for bills amending the Constitution.

The proposal stipulates that in addition to the article stating that "the second reading of a bill amending the Constitution may not take place earlier than the fourteenth day from the day the Members of Parliament are delivered the report of the Committee considering the bill amending the Constitution," it should be added that in particularly justified cases, the Marshal of the Sejm – after consulting the Presidium of the Sejm – may shorten this period.

The representative of the initiators is Kamil Bortniczuk from the Agreement party.
