- Mr. Brejza likes this kind of political brawling. I try to stay away from it and I will praise my predecessors, Minister Zembala, even Minister Arłukowicz, who prepared a Council of Ministers resolution that obliges the Minister of Health to inform patients and conduct an information campaign – said Łukasz Szumowski in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the Polsat News program “Graffiti”.

- This is 5% of the funds that the ministry allocates for information campaigns – Szumowski added.

"If today we are deeply discussing the demoralization of Marshal Kuchciński, then perhaps it would be worthwhile to ask where Marshal Kuchciński's adult son lives. Ask around. Ask Marshal Kuchciński this question, whether by chance his entire family resides in the official apartment he has at his disposal using Sejm funds" - said Marek Sawicki from PSL in an interview with Dominika Wielowieyska on Radio TOK FM's 'Poranek'.

- The main commitment that I still remember from the agreement with Poles was that this would be a presidency close to the people. And it is close to the people today, because this is the first president in history who will soon conclude such a program of visits to every Polish county - stated Paweł Mucha in an interview with Marcin Wikło on TVP1's "Polityczny Kwadrans" (Political Quarter Hour).

„No one is under anyone's wing. No one will even try to dominate anyone. If that happened, if someone wanted to dominate others or devour them, this whole intricate puzzle would fall apart. That is the strength of this project. Even though there are 3 parties, we know that if any one of the pieces fell out of this puzzle, it would be a catastrophe” - said Adrian Zandberg from Razem on Radio Trójka. 

- I am surprised by this discussion [around the election date] because the President had the right to set the election date within this timeframe, so a difference of a few weeks doesn't really matter. Perhaps some justifications from the ruling camp, that a shorter campaign is better because there's work to be done here, sound a bit like the PRL era to me, like 'get to work, don't discuss.' However, the date is in line with the electoral law and the constitution. We've expected this for a long time; Prime Minister Morawiecki already mentioned this date in early July. So there's no surprise here - stated Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

- For now, we are the most advanced as the Civic Coalition, because over a week ago we presented the frontrunners of our lists, sometimes even up to 10 candidates on a given list. PiS showed one candidate each, other committees are still working on it. So, I think it's a matter of the next 10-14 days. However, this involves 41 constituencies, and sometimes there are over 20 people, 20 candidates. There's a lot to choose from. Discussions are ongoing here. We also have interesting individuals from outside politics – social activists, we are talking to local government officials, so these lists will be as strong as the frontrunners we presented last week - stated Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1, when asked when the full composition of Civic Coalition's lists will be known.

• Persons such as Stanisław Piotrowicz, Maria Piotrowicz, Zdzisław Krasnodębski, Anna Krasnodębska, repeatedly MP Bogdan Rzońca, repeatedly MP Wróblewska, and many others, including assistants of Marshal Kuchciński, were added to the passenger list. In my opinion, these individuals were completely unauthorized. None of these people meet the criteria of the HEAD instruction, which clearly refers to members of official delegations – said Robert Kropiwnicki during a press conference in the Sejm.
• The information reaching us, which we will be verifying in the coming days, suggests that Marshal Karczewski's significant absence in recent days is not accidental. We will return to these matters. We are investigating this case. I heard an interview by Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz with Marshal Karczewski, who said he did not fly with his family on the plane. Our information suggests that such flights may have occurred – added Cezary Tomczyk.

- I assume he might not have known something and said something in good faith that he believed to be the factual situation, when the factual situation was different. Perhaps it's not a lie, but simply a lack of sufficient information - Ryszard Czarnecki told journalists in the Sejm.

- The problem arose due to unclear regulations inherited from previous governments, concerning precisely the possibility of flights for the most important state officials and accompanying persons. This is precisely why we will introduce regulations - Czarnecki added.

“In the Sejm, especially within the opposition, there is an ongoing, very intense competition for the dumbest MP and the dumbest statement. I recently heard exactly that [during the PO conference]. I suggest the gentlemen MPs who appeared at the press conference step out of the Sejm for a moment and see what the world is living for, what Poles are living for” – said Deputy Marshal Ryszard Terlecki in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

On August 29th – just before the next extraordinary session of the Sejm – the legislative committee of the Sejm will consider the government's draft bill on the State Commission for the Investigation of Acts Directed Against Sexual Freedom and Morality concerning minors under 15 years of age. In short, this is the project establishing a commission on pedophilia, which Jarosław Kaczyński announced during the European election campaign.

As we wrote over the weekend on 300POLITYKA, the Sejm is not in a hurry to process the government's proposal. Given the Sejm's schedule, it will be difficult to establish the commission without shortening the vacatio legis or possibly convening an additional session. Even if the Sejm adopts the bill in its current form on August 30th, the Senate approves it on the same day, and the president signs it just as quickly, the Sejm will be able to elect the commission members at the earliest in late September, by which time there will be no session.

If PiS wants to establish the commission within the current term, the only solution is to shorten the vacatio legis, conduct swift parliamentary work, and elect members at the last Sejm session of this term, from September 11th to 13th. Otherwise, the matter will be postponed to the next parliamentary term.

"Media around the world showed how an organized group of criminals physically attacked participants of a peaceful demonstration, including women, youth, and children. Many victims of this assault ended up in the hospital. The march participants were brutally beaten because they protested against hatred and violence, and their slogan was: equal rights for all, regardless of gender or sexual orientation" - writes Robert Biedroń, leader of the Spring party, in a letter to Pope Francis.  

"I would like to convey to Your Holiness my deep concern over the fact that representatives of the Catholic Church in Poland are glorifying the use of violence. I believe that everyone, regardless of their faith, should unite in countering and condemning acts of violence. Therefore, I appeal to Your Holiness with a request for a clear condemnation of the above and any similar stances taken by representatives of the Catholic Church, and for a reaction that will change the currently less-than-ideal image of the Polish Church" - Biedroń adds in the letter.

- Indeed, it is true that in Poland there are two groups of people who adhere to different cultures. In our group, people who are likely TOK FM listeners, we are convinced that those who represent us, who hold power, are in some way on a partnership basis, in relationships with people. Meaning, they must in every way be accountable, report on how their work looks, etc. In contrast, within the hard PiS electorate, I have the impression that a dramatically hierarchical worldview dominates, one in which those at the top are allowed a bit more, and those at the bottom are also allowed to behave in a completely different way - said Joanna Mucha in an interview with Roch Kowalski on TOK FM's "Political Interview".

- I'm glad that Marshal Kuchciński apologized at a press conference, not through a statement. I think that indeed many politicians before him did not apologize for real transgressions. He did it, and that's good - stated Ryszard Czarnecki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Events and Opinions" on Polsat News.

- I apologize should have been said last week. I said that. Two words should have been said: 'I apologize' and 'thank you.' Unfortunately, we did not hear these words from the Marshal. We heard a conditional apology: if someone feels offended, then I apologize - stated Marek Sawicki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.

- To be honest, today's meeting [at Nowogrodzka Street] in my assessment is not related to Marshal Kuchciński, because I also don't think that President Kaczyński would not have information from other services that dealt with the organization of these flights, about what the situation really looks like - added the PSL politician.

- If it turns out that he [Marek Kuchciński] said something that was inconsistent with the facts, then knowing him, he wouldn't have said it in bad faith, but simply might not have had such information. Regarding the HEAD instructions, he might simply not have known them accurately, precisely. Therefore, accusing him of lying is inappropriate, but of course, officials should present the truth in their statements and communiqués on this matter - stated Ryszard Czarnecki in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.

I will say honestly that if [something] were to happen, it should have happened already. So, I am rather skeptical that there will be any self-reflection here. The Marshal will certainly serve out the rest of his term, and PiS, counting on the campaign being short and the elections being close, thinks that other matters will arise and the Marshal's situation can be overshadowed by something new," stated Marek Sawicki in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.
