- Decisions will be made today. We are open to individual people. We want a formula, as I mentioned, non-partisan, broader. These elections have shown that Poles expect a broader offer than just offers from political parties. We are saying clearly that this party-based formula is coming to an end of sorts. - I would ask our friends from the PSL, and we are asking them: why are they taking such a big risk and want to go it alone, because I won't hide it, there is no Polish Coalition. - For now, the opposition helps us primarily by not making decisions. There are several weeks until the elections, of course we don't know their date yet, but there are several weeks, and voters of individual parties still don't know in what configuration these parties will run - Jarosław Gowin said in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on the Polsat News program "Graffiti".

- Of course, the PSL will do everything to reach 5%, but the formula of this start will cause people to start wondering if a vote cast for someone who might not reach 5% won't be a wasted vote. The d'Hondt method is constructed in such a way that all votes that go into the basket for smaller groupings strengthen the ruling party or the winning grouping - stated Borys Budka in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

- From a reputational standpoint, the entire situation is compromising not for Prime Minister Beata Szydło, not for Poland, but for European socialists and liberals who, in some fit of revenge for us blocking, primarily Prime Minister Morawiecki effectively built a blocking coalition against the election of a candidate who was very bad for Europe, namely Frans Timmermans. I have been an MP from Silesia for two terms already. Until now, I ran in the Gliwice district. A very important one for Civic Platform. There is no decision yet regarding specific electoral districts. Silesia is such that we are one large conurbation. „There won't be two or three blocs. There's the bloc we are building, and there are two parties - PSL, which since June 1st actually gave the impression it wanted to reach an agreement, but actually didn't want that agreement, and there's the SLD, to which activists from Wiosna or Razem party could join. I don't believe that the SLD, and I say this with all due sympathy, will risk going as a coalition” - said PO Vice-Chairman Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

The European Conservatives and Reformists (EKR) group in the European Parliament will nominate a Slovak candidate for the position of chairperson of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs.

- We have concluded the meeting of the Civic Platform's national board. We unanimously decided on the format of our participation in the 2019 parliamentary elections. We are entering these elections as the Civic Coalition, but not as a coalition of political parties. Instead, we are a coalition of all those who share our worldview, our vision for Poland, who want to defend democracy and the rule of law with us, and Poland's position in the EU. We want to open our lists, the Civic Coalition, to citizens, active individuals, social activists, experts, local government officials, and non-governmental organizations. We have sought and found a new formula for political expression for all that is currently active, offensive, principled, law-abiding, democratic, and European. We want a coalition of democrats and patriots. We want to be certain that all those who will actively help us change Poland will find a place on our lists. We will open up 20% of the places on our lists and reserve them for people from the civic opposition, non-governmental organizations, and all those who have not directly participated in parliamentary politics until now. We will make significant space for them, we will write our program with them, and we want to build this campaign together. We will also reserve and invite local government officials to our lists - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at a press conference.

- We will form joint lists for the Senate, and we will also allocate three spots – the fifth, tenth, and the last – to nominations from local government officials, all local government officials. Those who want to defend the idea of self-governance, its institutional independence, against the centralizing policies of the current authorities. We know this is a new formula. We know that no one has done this before. But we believe today that the formula of transactional party cooperation, of dividing the best spots among ourselves, that kind of politics has ended. Today, Poland needs and expects a new beginning from the opposition, from the largest opposition party. And this new beginning, we are writing today, by inviting all people of goodwill. Open, engaged, active individuals to our lists and to work together. Together, we will win - the Civic Platform chairman continued.

– Yes, directly after the national board meeting and the board's unanimous decision, I conveyed the information to the leader of SLD, Włodzimierz Czarzasty. Of course, the PSL's decision ends the history of the European Coalition, and this is our response to the new quality of Polish politics. We believe that only a new coalition formula has a chance to stand against PiS, which is why we are inviting the Civic Coalition to this formula. Everyone will fit there, but the party, political formula has been ended by the PSL's decision. Today, this is our response to the creation of a new type of electoral coalition – stated Grzegorz Schetyna at a press conference.

- We have talks over the next few days, next week with all regional boards of all regions of the Civic Platform. So we will be talking with representatives of associations, non-governmental organizations, local government officials. - There will be no party coalition. I repeat, there will be the Civic Coalition. If anyone wants to join - you are welcome. In an open formula of cooperation. People, programs, activities, ideas. We want to defeat PiS, we want to win this election, but we will no longer participate in party transactions - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at a press conference.

- We didn't want a situation where we as a political group would lose this position. Hence the decision to field a Slovak candidate. She is in our group, so by the very fact that we form a group, our candidates are good. She has experience because she was also a deputy minister, she dealt with social policy for many years, and I trust that, as the Chairperson said, politics will not prevail here - said Beata Mazurek in the European Parliament.

Everything indicates that after many weeks of a very captivating series titled 'Forming a Coalition,' it has turned out to end in political embarrassment. There is no coalition. Civic Coalition is going it alone, with citizens who will get some sort of worse positions. We'll see what kind of citizens and what kind of positions these are. In a word – the impression that Poland awaits the outcome of these weeks of talks concludes with a sad finale. These talks have led to nothing, and the parties are going their separate ways. Is this good news or not? It's of no importance to us. We are prepared for any scenario. We have a program, we have list leaders” - said the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Ryszard Terlecki, at a press conference in the Sejm. 

“We are not afraid of any political transfers or electorate flows. We have our loyal, dedicated electorate, which we believe will not let us down. The other parties will compete among themselves to divide whatever is left from the opposition. The tactics will not change. We have been conducting a pre-campaign for several weeks, meaning we are preparing for the actual campaign. We are holding many meetings, and picnics are being organized,” said the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Ryszard Terlecki, at a press conference in the Sejm. 

“We are working very intensively in the countryside. We have many ideas. By reminding people of Mr. Kosiniak's appearances at KOD rallies or various rainbow, joint initiatives, we will indeed remind them of what the PSL did and said just a few weeks ago,” he added. 

„I don't know who is more 'sofa-oriented' – Inicjatywa Polska or our coalition partners. Nowoczesna basically no longer exists, so it's hard to talk about a coalition here. The difference [between the United Right and the Civic Coalition] is that we've been well-aligned for years, we go together, there are no differences, problems, disputes, or competition between us. In this regard, it seems to me that voters will notice a significant advantage of the United Right” – said Sejm Deputy Marshal Ryszard Terlecki at a press conference in the Sejm. 

- Rafał Trzaskowski, with his "Relax Zone," has exposed the Civic Platform's utterly empty promises. This is important not only for Warsaw residents but also for all citizens across the country, regarding how the Civic Platform spends money - said Sebastian Kaleta during a press conference.

„I used to say [that Kukiz’15 politicians were knocking on PiS's door]. Now I say that everything will be revealed in the near future. We were waiting for developments and for what would happen in the framework of the never-ending serial of building various coalitions” – said Ryszard Terlecki, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, at a press conference in the Sejm. 

„A very good candidate, a Slovak, chosen by our group. We support this candidacy because she is a very substantive chairwoman” - said PiS spokesperson Anita Czerwińska at a press conference in the Sejm.

„Politics is a team game. Let's remember that there is the Visegrad Group, the ECR, broader political projects, the Three Seas Initiative. Within these various political activities, broader than just Poland, we strive to achieve the best possible results, including in the European Parliament. We wanted it to be Mrs. Beata Szydło. It didn't succeed in the sense that some of our counterparts did not keep their word. In our opinion, politics continues, and we will still be surprised by various successes” - added Deputy Marshal Ryszard Terlecki.

- First and foremost, our core wish, one might say our desire, is for municipalities to connect with municipalities, and counties with counties. Because very often, it happens that employees commute to neighboring municipalities, sometimes through several municipalities. According to the latest GUS (Central Statistical Office) data, over 3 million employees commute to work in a municipality other than their place of residence. These are often distances exceeding 50 km. The average is over 40 km, and sometimes 70, 80 km. This means a huge effort, a reduction in the possibility of finding work closer by, and a significant loss of time commuting to work. These are everyday phenomena that we want to prevent. We want to make people's lives easier. We are currently implementing the largest program for the repair, renovation, and construction of new local roads in the history of the Third Polish Republic. You are aware of this. Approximately PLN 6 billion has been allocated within the framework of the Local Roads Fund. But after these roads, which are looking better and better, some new ones are being built, and others are being renovated, we want people to be able to travel to other neighboring towns and villages in a way that better suits their daily schedules, their needs for shopping, visiting hospitals, schools, work, friends, and family. These are the needs that truly make disappear what we sometimes talk about as Poland A and Poland B – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a meeting with local government officials as part of #PołączeniaLokalne (Local Connections).

- For me, this program also represents a huge opportunity for another wave of entrepreneurship, for stimulating another great wave of Polish capitalism. A healthily understood market system that will create new job opportunities – he continued. – By repairing, and sometimes even recreating, those vehicle-kilometers which have disappeared by half over the last 20 years, we are also deciding on a step that is intended to stimulate entrepreneurship. To increase the chances for business to create new jobs – emphasized the head of the Polish government.

This is an important, historic moment for the left. A moment when we are starting a new chapter of our cooperation. The left has always won elections when it was united. The left achieved victories when our elder and younger brothers in faith joined forces beyond party insignia, but through shared values and programs. We have decided to create a new left-wing bloc, a bloc of a common left, which, together, jointly, and finally, after many years of divisions, sometimes animosities, and disagreements, will go to the elections and win them” - stated the leader of Wiosna (Spring), Robert Biedroń, at a press conference in front of the Sejm.

"In practice, nothing divides us, apart from minor programmatic differences and party labels. Therefore, there is no reason why today, at such a difficult moment for Poland, the Polish left, all progressive forces, should go to these elections divided. That is why Wiosna will do everything in these elections to run in the strongest possible civic, progressive, forward-looking, left-wing bloc” - he added.

“Today evening, we will meet again, in a broader group, and we will discuss more concretely the future of the Polish left. After 8 PM, such a meeting will take place. We need discussion and dialogue, building a common list. We will announce this list in the coming days” – said Wiosna leader Robert Biedroń at a press conference in front of the Sejm.

- Today marks the end of our adventure with the European Coalition. I wanted to thank Grzegorz Schetyna, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Małgorzata Tracz, and Katarzyna Lubnauer for this journey. The Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) received 6% of the votes nationwide. We have 5 MEPs. 50% of the people who voted for the European Coalition believe it is the best project in Poland to defeat PiS. 50% of people want these - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference in Łódź.

- We, as the SLD, waited until the very end and were astonished today to see how this project, which secured 38% of the vote, was dismantled. 38% of Polish women and men voted, six months before the parliamentary elections, for a democratic project, the largest and best project since Poland's transformation, uniting the opposition, and the participants of this project, as it turned out, some have resigned from it. To be honest, I am astonished - he added.

- The Polish People's Party (PSL) has, in our opinion, chosen an unclear path bordering on cooperation with Law and Justice (PiS). Grzegorz Schetyna, as the leader of Civic Platform (PO) today, has abdicated his position as the opposition leader. We considered Schetyna to be the leader of the opposition - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference in Łódź.

- Grzegorz, you had a great opportunity to be the leader of Polish democrats, men and women. Today, you have abdicated your position as the opposition leader. You created a great project and couldn't defend it. You lacked the courage, faith, and leadership skills for difficult times to improve this project - added the chairman of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD).

Today, Grzegorz Schetyna took a big step towards PiS's victory. A big step towards PiS's victory. Announcing at a press conference that it would be satisfactory for the Civic Coalition to receive over 38% of the votes is an admission that we have stopped fighting for victory. - I don't want to be with someone who doesn't want to win. I don't want to form a coalition with someone who doesn't want to win. Someone has to have faith in victory, in balls at such a moment. Therefore, I wanted to say it clearly. We are building a left-wing bloc. Today at 8:30 PM, there will be a meeting between Adrian Zandberg, Robert Biedroń, and representatives of SLD. All other parties, with the Greens in the lead role, are also eager to attend this meeting. We will create a bloc of the left – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference in Łódź. - On Saturday, SLD convened a party board meeting. We currently have, because we were preparing for this, ready lists, we have ready candidates, but within the framework of cooperation with left-wing parties, we are naturally responding to the invitation from Mr. Biedroń and Zandberg. We are also adding ourselves to this invitation. We will be creating joint lists – added the leader of SLD.

„PSL-Koalicja Polska is the only grouping in the political center. We are building a moderate center, building it with entrepreneurs, local leaders, business owners, and local government officials, all people of good will who want a state based on respecting tradition, Christian values, the dignity of every human being, respect for the rights of every person in Poland, on cooperation, building bridges, agreements, and restoring national community” - said the leader of PSL, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, at a press conference in the Sejm.

„The only grouping in the political center that does not want to allow radical right-wing rule, but also does not agree with moral revolution. Radicals from the right will not be stopped by radicals from the left. Only a moderate center can do it. We will do everything to ensure that the vote cast for us is a decisive vote. We are building a centrist bloc” - he added.

"It is a pity that after Civic Platform presented its liberal-left program last weekend, no agreement was reached within the left-wing bloc. The older left, which is SLD, did not reach an agreement with the somewhat newer left, with the left from Civic Platform-Civic Coalition. No agreement was reached on the left flank. It's a pity, because then everything would be clear. The centrist-liberal program of PO-KO and the program of the SLD left are close to each other. - Inicjatywa Polska proposes that, in addition to members and supporters of IP, other left-wing individuals should also be included on Civic Coalition lists. The KO is not a coalition of parties, but an agreement of people and values. Therefore, we will soon make decisions regarding candidates from IP and individuals who support our values - Dariusz Joński said in an interview with 300POLITYKĄ.

- For now, we're preparing for an independent run and closing ranks. This is our minimum option. However, we believe we'll find people, groups, and political forces that agree with our demands - said Piotr Apel in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on TOK FM's "Political Interview."

- I think it will be Saturday rather than Sunday when it comes to announcing the decision - Apel added.

The effectiveness of Law and Justice in the European Parliament, or in the European Union altogether, will probably become legendary. We probably haven't had such an ineffective government until now. I can say this: I don't understand this decision because I believed, and said so very clearly – we need to strengthen, we need to expand the united opposition. This formula needs a chance. We have seen this or we are seeing it in Hungary, when the defeated opposition resulted in several terms for Orbán – added the PO chairman.

- We did everything we could. We managed to build the European Coalition. It took me six weeks to build a coalition, to unite the opposition. It seemed impossible. We achieved 38.5%. But we lost the election, and one must be able to draw conclusions from defeats. The conclusion is that we need to look for a different formula for cooperation, especially since the PSL was the first to leave the European Coalition after the European elections. Yes [I regret it], because I believed that this structure we built was valuable, a realization of the expectations and social protests of millions of people - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

- The elections will decide who will be the opposition leader. I believe it will be Jarosław Kaczyński.
