The Sejm's three-day session will commence at 10:00 AM. First, MPs will begin work on the government's draft law granting the so-called '500+' benefit to individuals with disabilities. At 12:30 PM, potential votes are scheduled should motions to reject the bill in its first reading be filed. In the evening – at 8:30 PM – the Sejm will hold a debate on the motion to dismiss Minister Henryk Kowalczyk. The confidence vote will take place at 10:00 PM.

At 11:00 AM, the Sejm Infrastructure Committee will consider amendments proposed by senators to the special act concerning Westerplatte. Meanwhile, the investigative committee on VAT fraud will convene twice: at 9:00 AM for a closed session, and at 12:00 PM for the hearing of Sławomir Siwy.

At 10:00 AM, the session of the Joint Commission of the Government and Local Self-Government will begin.

At 11:30 AM, representatives of the Spring party will, at a press conference, inform about the state of coalition talks and the chances of building a left-wing bloc before the autumn elections. Also today, we are expected to learn the final stance of the Civic Platform party, decided during the National Board meeting, regarding the shape and members of the Civic Coalition.

- I think there's no point in talking about such a transactional perception of what will happen. We, as PiS, and more broadly, the ECR faction, were not interested in prolonging the EU, EC crisis. It had to be cut short, a choice had to be made so that we could move on to the next stages and operate normally – stated Jacek Sasin in a conversation with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

- Indeed, we are striving for this Polish commissioner to be an important commissioner from our perspective. Energy is certainly such an area for us. It is an area where we want to convince our partners that climate policy is important, necessary, and we absolutely do not deny that bold actions are needed here, but it must take into account the specifics of individual countries, such as Poland – the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

- There is certainly no such decision at this moment regarding who will be the candidate [for the position of head of the employment committee in the European Parliament] in the next vote. I must say that here, great recognition for Prime Minister Szydło, that she decided to indeed run as a candidate for the second time. She decided to do so because we had very clear signals that the incident that took place during the first vote, the rejection of this candidacy, would not be repeated. Unfortunately, it happened again - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "One on One".

“PiS and the entire ECR supported this candidacy as a compromise candidate. “One of the main economists from Civic Platform, Mr. Rzońca, recently predicted that the introduction of 500+ would lead Poland to a situation similar to what Greece found itself in some time ago. This project is expected to cover about half a million people, possibly more," said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a parliamentary debate.

"Democracy must also be a democracy of conscience. It cannot be a democracy that little considers the needs of people with disabilities. This is the measure of humanity. Therefore, in the coming years, should voters decide so in the autumn, we will strive to allocate a disproportionately large pool of funds for social spending towards assistance for people with disabilities," said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a parliamentary debate.

„There has been no decision yet in this regard [regarding the re-nomination of MEP Beata Szydło for the head of the EP Employment Committee]. Nothing is ruled out. "The normal principle of respecting democracy and its rules is that the opposition holds certain positions, while the majority generally does not elect the opposition's representatives, so this is a violation of democratic principles. The European Commission has decided today to take a further step in the ongoing infringement proceeding against Poland and has sent Poland a reasoned opinion concerning the new system of disciplinary measures against judges – it was stated in a press release.

"Polish law allows for subjecting judges of common courts to disciplinary activities and procedures and imposing disciplinary penalties on them due to the content of rulings issued by them, including in connection with their right, granted under Article 267 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to refer questions to the Court of Justice for a preliminary ruling. The new system of disciplinary measures does not ensure the independence and impartiality of the Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Court, which is composed exclusively of judges selected by the National Council of the Judiciary, which in turn is appointed by the Sejm. It also does not ensure that a court 'established by law' decides in the first instance in disciplinary proceedings against judges of common courts. Instead, it empowers the President of the Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Court to determine, ad hoc and almost without limitation, which first-instance disciplinary court will adjudicate a given case. The new system does not guarantee that cases will be heard within a reasonable time, which allows judges to be kept in a continuous state of threat from pending cases and affects judges' right to defence. Poland had two months to respond to the arguments put forward by the Commission in the letter of formal notice. Following a thorough analysis of the Polish authorities' response, the Commission concluded that the legal concerns have not been dispelled. Therefore, it decided to launch the next stage of the infringement proceeding."

The Polish authorities now have two months to implement the necessary measures to comply with this reasoned opinion. If Poland fails to do so, the Commission may decide to refer the matter to the Court of Justice of the EU.

- Just now, the European Commission announced the transition to the second stage of the rule of law infringement procedure. This is a very bad signal for the PiS government, it's a very bad signal for Poland. It unequivocally confirms that the anti-EU rhetoric of PiS is unfortunately still present and is becoming a reality. It unfortunately confirms that PiS is unable to draw any conclusions from what has happened so far - said Borys Budka during a press conference in the Sejm.
